Business Jones & Joss Thompson vs. Rockstar Lifestyle

Cool is the weak link here by wide margin.

Jeff Nova v Johansson

Nova is the champ and while he isn´t regular wrestler he should be able to beat Johansson who is just a henchman. Besides Johansson can gain overness easily enough so he dosen´t need to go over Nova.

Jonathan Faust vs. Grey Angel

Faust is simply the bigger name.

Danny Francis vs. Energy Punk

Again Francis is simply the bigger name here plus Punk is more of a tag guy currently.

Dragon vs. Nigel Svensson

Hard one but Dragon is the better half of his team so I give him the win since I don´t see Lionhard beating O´Curle (assuming that they DO have a match next show, but that´s how these tag feuds usually go)

Hot Stuff vs. The Wildcards

Another hard one, I feel that Hot Stuff has lost their standings a little bit after losing those titles while Anarchy has been rather strong so while I do see Hot Stuff being slighly higher on pecking order (they are ex-champs after all) I think that Wildcards take the win and move to the title picture in order to freshen things up a little bit.

I'd say there is no need to keep the boss looking strong .. But guess he's also the champ and i doubt he'd want to lose to Johansson!

Thompson is probably your best all-around guy. I like RJS and Cool, but can't see them winning here.

Jeff Nova v Johansson

Something about this screams massive interference for a draw.

Jonathan Faust vs. Grey Angel

It's Faust and you don't seem to like Wilson as much as the rest of us do.

Danny Francis vs. Energy Punk

British Kofi for the win.

Dragon vs. Nigel Svensson

Tough call, but I like the champs to pick up one win in a singles match and Pride to pick up the other.

Hot Stuff vs. The Wildcards

Former tag champs pick up the win.

Jeff Nova v Johansson

I don't see Nova losing.

Higher on the ladder.

Bigger Deal

Dragon vs. Nigel Svensson

I could see a draw or double DQ here.

Business Jones & Joss Thompson vs. Rockstar Lifestyle

Rockstar seems to to be the designated team that jobs to ME's that need to get some momentum back.

Jeff Nova v Johansson - DQ!

Keeps both guys strong if Johannson dominates, but Nova wins via after everybody runs in against him for interference or something.

Jonathan Faust vs. Grey Angel - DRAW!

Here's your draw for the evening. You seem to be pushing Grey Angel a bit more than before, so drawing Faust isn't totally out of the ordinary.

Danny Francis vs. Energy Punk

Francis isn't high enough on the card to win a handicap match against a "real" team. Maybe if he was against the Manchester Seagulls....

Dragon vs. Nigel Svensson

Set up a feud between two high workrate teams.

Hot Stuff vs. The Wildcards

Hot Stuff still deserve some respect as former tag champs

Best of British Wrestling

Wednesday week 2 August 2010

Edgware Hall, London.

Attendance: 2,000 SOLD OUT

http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/5531/jeffnova.jpg

Jeff Nova introduces tonight’s show from the ring.

He’s in a slightly uncharacteristically angry mood tonight as he tells the fans that how he’s back in charge he’s going to get going with rooting out some of the more unsavoury roster members and getting them out of the company.

People like Jonathan Faust and Pitbull brown he may not like personally but he can see that they deserve their place but there are some who he feels the company would be better off tonight. As a result he’s set up some matches tonight where people will have to win to show they should be allowed to continue in 21CW. Who’s in those matches will be announced later.

A*

http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/8373/21cw.jpg

http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/1961/duntonhallalt.jpghttp://img717.imageshack.us/img717/5295/jonathanfaust.jpghttp://img829.imageshack.us/img829/180/herculesjohanssenalt1.jpg

Jonathan Faust, Dunton Hall and their bodyguard Johansson all head out to thunderous boos.

Faust explains that although he lost the World Title to Jeff Nova no one should think he’s going anywhere. In fact Faust claims he only submitted because he was ill that night. And he had a bruised liver too.

Dunton claims that it’s just a matter of time until Faust gets the title back and he’s going to prove himself by challenging anyone right here and now.

Unfortunately for him he gets a serious challenger as the lights go out and flick back on to reveal Grey Angel in a cloud of white smoke.

Angel tells all three members of the Startup that he’s judged them and found them wanting. By worshipping money and power they’ve left behind something that they don’t even miss. And grey Angel is the man to punish them for it.

Jonathan Faust vs. Grey Angel

* Grey Angel is up against it here but makes a great fist as he takes to the air and whirls around the ring.

* Faust isn’t normally the slower man in the ring but struggles to adapt tonight.

* Unfortunately Grey Angel doesn’t manage to seal a massive upset though as with Faust prone and Angel on the top buckle he’s unceremoniously yanked down by an attacking Mr Blood.

* Chaos rules as Johansson also gets involved but Faust manages to snatch the win in the mess.

In a bout that had great heat and great wrestling action, Jonathan Faust defeated Grey Angel in 9:44 by pinfall with a Devil's Drop following interference from Mr Blood.

http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/5762/buffmartinez.jpghttp://img692.imageshack.us/img692/4156/jaybr.jpg

Hot Stuff are on the big screen. They appear to be in a sauna together and are wearing even less than they normally do. Clever camerawork obscures anything non-PG but the two ex-tag champs are clearly naked.

Buff and Jay both rage about having been seemingly forgotten as tag contenders and claim they deserve another shot at the belts. There’s a knock on the door though and Steve Smith sticks his head around the corner. Apparently they’ve got a match to win to prove they should stay in 21CW – and it starts in 3 minutes after the ad break.

C

Hot Stuff (Buff Martinez & Jay B) vs. The Wildcards (Anarchy & Menace)

http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/5762/buffmartinez.jpghttp://img692.imageshack.us/img692/4156/jaybr.jpghttp://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4112/21cwversus.jpghttp://img593.imageshack.us/img593/205/darrenwhiteanarchist.jpghttp://img412.imageshack.us/img412/438/menace1.jpg

* Menace is big and lumbering. Anarchy is fast and technical. But Hot Stuff again show great teamwork and clever tags and double teams allow them to be the stronger team here.

* Jay in particular has a tour de force with a few big moves and spots.

* And it’s him that gets the win as he manages to pin the giant, tattooed but slow Menace.

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Hot Stuff defeated Wildcards in 10:03 when Jay B defeated Menace by pinfall with a Heat Seeker.

http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/8207/phoebeplumridgealt.jpghttp://a.imageshack.us/img96/9586/adammatravers.jpg

Sugar Rush (Phoebe Plumridge & Adam Matravers) talk to the crowd from the big screen. They appear to be standing on top of a very tall building looking out over London.

Both of them claim that they’re now ready to move onto the highest echelon of competition now Adam has won two titles already this year. They both finish by cracking open cans of red Bull, reminding everyone how extreme they are...

...And leaping off the edge of the building!

C

http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/8373/21cw.jpg

http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/5573/danielfrancis.jpg

Danny Francis heads to the ring with a mic. The Brixton boy is looking hyped and muscular and does a little bit of friendly banter with the crowd before telling them how excited he is to have a tough match tonight against Energy Punk. The Strange Quarks have impressed Danny in their time in 21CW and he always loves to test himself against something new.

B-

Danny Francis vs. Energy Punk

http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/5573/danielfrancis.jpghttp://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4112/21cwversus.jpghttp://img171.imageshack.us/img171/8549/sp118.jpg

* Decent action here as Punk is almost as athletic as Danny. Both men lock up in several different ways and although it’s generally a ground-based match it’s pretty energetic.

* Power Beast lurks outside the ring the whole time though and seems to prevent Danny relaxing totally which lets Punk get a very near fall.

* Not near enough though and Danny is shaken up enough to redouble his efforts and force Energy Punk to tap out to his Rasta Lock.

In a bout that featured great action and a good crowd, Danny Francis defeated Energy Punk in 7:50 by submission with a Rasta Lock.

http://img847.imageshack.us/img847/48/ukdragonalt1jt.jpghttp://img638.imageshack.us/img638/8645/ukdragonbritannia.jpg

Pride head to ringside for the second time in two weeks. They’re both wearing their Union Flag masks (FUN FACT - its only a Union jack if it’s on a ship) and get a good reaction as they again tell Snaptime that they’re the perfect team to take the tag belts.

Snaptime appear to riposte and after some posturing a match is agreed between Dragon and the young Swede Nigel Svensson.

C

Dragon vs. Nigel Svensson

http://img847.imageshack.us/img847/48/ukdragonalt1jt.jpghttp://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4112/21cwversus.jpghttp://img194.imageshack.us/img194/8674/nigelsvensson.jpg

* As expected by everyone this is really cagey as both men are conservative and value skill, patience and technique over the flashy.

* Dragon is the more experienced though and the Zen Master takes control of the match with a series of tightly controlled suplexes that leave Nigel grasping.

* Only for Merle to storm the ring which also draws Lionheart in. The ref has no choice but to rule the scuffle a draw.

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Nigel Svensson drew with Dragon in 8:24 following a double count out. During the match we also saw Merle O'Curle run in and attack Dragon, and Lionheart also attack Svensson.

http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/8531/warmachinealt.jpg

The big screen shows a backstage corridor with a prone form lying groaning on the floor. He rolls over and of all people it’s War Machine. Someone has managed to give the teenage monster a real nasty beating.

The only clues as to whom it was is a sticky, green slime over Machine’s face...

B

http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/8373/21cw.jpg

http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/1756/jeffnovaalt1.jpg

Jeff heads back to the ring in his wrestling gear. He congratulates Hot Stuff on winning their match earlier and says they’ll be granted another chance in the company.

Jeff also announces that he’s going to face someone himself for the chance to stay in 21CW. Someone who everyone knows is strong but no one knows if they can wrestle. Tonight Johansson will face World Champ Jeff one-on-one for his very future in England’s greatest wrestling company.

A*

Jeff Nova v Johansson

http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/5531/jeffnova.jpghttp://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4112/21cwversus.jpghttp://img829.imageshack.us/img829/180/herculesjohanssenalt1.jpg

* Unfortunately this just wasn’t the most gripping or interesting of matches as Johansson really only brought his brute strength to the table and Jeff simply countered it.

* The huge Scandinavian certainly is a physical specimen but repeated kicks and grappling doesn’t cut it against an ex- World’s Strongest Man and Jeff never looks in trouble.

* As it becomes increasingly clear that Jeff is in control Faust storms the ring but Business Jones and Joss Thompson head out to restrain him.

* In all the chaos Jeff manages to lock Johansson in his patented Bear Hug (lifted from the floor) and amazingly the giant Scandinavian submits – signing his own P45.

In a bout that featured great action and great heat from the audience, Jeff Nova defeated Johansson in 12:01 by submission with a World's Strongest Bear Hug. During the match we also saw Jonathan Faust also attack Nova.

D+

After the match Jeff celebrates and Faust and Dunton Hall berate Johansson for allowing himself to be sacked from the company.

http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/998/pitbullbrownalt4.jpg

But from out of nowhere Pitbull Brown storms the ring and cracks Jeff across the back of his head. Seizing a mic Pitbull says that he’s beaten everyone in the company apart from the owner and now he’s demanding the big match; a shot at Jeff Nova and the 21CW World Title.

B+

http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/8373/21cw.jpg

As the debris is cleared away (and the crowd boo Johansson out of the ring) a video plays on the big screen showing who will be in the last match for their 21CW future. The two men who just helped Jeff (Business Jones and Joss Thompson) will face two men who have rubbed many up the wrong way – Rolling Johnny Stones and Luke Cool.

Stones has been successful this year but acted appallingly whilst Cool has underperformed. Tonight they need to win or they will leave the company.

B+

Business Jones & Joss Thompson vs. Rockstar Lifestyle (Rolling Johnny Stones & Luke Cool)

http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/7778/businessjones2.jpghttp://img853.imageshack.us/img853/7231/jossthompson.jpghttp://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4112/21cwversus.jpghttp://img17.imageshack.us/img17/6046/rollingjohnnystones.jpghttp://img703.imageshack.us/img703/3387/lukecool.jpg

* A far, FAR better match to end the show as the Rockstars scrap as if their careers depend on it (they do!) and take the fight to Joss and Business in no uncertain terms.

* Joss seems a bit subdued (maybe after his recent loss to ex-friend Pitbull?) and the match is truly wide open for the first 109 minutes.

* But good things don’t always last and Business Jones enters the ring (in his suit and tie) and just cleans up unloading on both Rockstars before tagging the American back in

* Joss seems rejuvenated and it’s a fairly simple matter to hit his Clean Cutter on Luke Cool to banish another two big names from 21CW.

In a bout that featured great action and great heat from the audience, Business Jones and Joss Thompson defeated Rockstar Lifestyle in 12:25 when Joss Thompson defeated Luke Cool by pinfall with a Clean Cutter.

Quite a lot happened in that show.

Pitbull has made a move for Jeff and the world title

Johansson, RJS and Luke Cool have all been sacked (bloated roster and as you can see from the match grade Johansson was far too over for his skills)

War Machine got beaten up. How?

Faust is back and wants another run

Hot Stuff are still the most homoerotic team in 21CW.

Onto the predictions:

A perfect score for Tiberious4. Well done sir and congrats for winning your first merch unless Im wrong?

Weird - but especially weird when you see that Steve Stoat has been in more!

Jeff Nova & Joss Thompson vs. Jonathan Faust & Pitbull Jones

Tough one but I still have hard time picking Nova over top heels so I go with Faust and Pitbull.

Adam Matravers vs. Merle O’Curle

Matravers looks to get into main title picture and in order to get there he has to be able to beat Merle.

Eddie & ??? vs. The Assassins Guild

I think that Eddie is simply too over to lose regardless of who he´s partner is

K’Lee Hawkins vs. Mr Blood

Blood has more going on as he´s hunting the midcard singes title.

The Manchester Seagulls vs. Pride

Seagulls are jobber to me until they prove otherwise.

La Revolution vs. The Strange Quarks vs. The Wildcards

Another tough one. I think that it´s between Quarks and Wildcards but it´s hard to say which team gets the win. I go with Wildcards simply because Anarchy has done quite well recently.

Jeff Nova & Joss Thompson vs. Jonathan Faust & Pitbull Jones

A draw is the only way I see this ending all four men can't afford to lose any momentum going into the PPV

Adam Matravers vs. Merle O’Curle

I'd love to say O'Curle will win but i don't see it, Matravers is after the World title...simples.

Eddie & ??? vs. The Assassins Guild

Hard choice here The Guild need to look strong since their return but, I don't see Eddie wanting to job to them.

K’Lee Hawkins vs. Mr Blood

Like Zergon said Blood is in the hunt for the UK title, K'Lee isn't doing much.

The Manchester Seagulls vs.Pride

The gulls are jobbers end off.

La Revolution vs. The Strange Quarks vs. The Wildcards

The Wildcards seem like the only logical choice here.

Has draw written all over it

Adam Matravers vs. Merle O’Curle

Matravers is on a mission, O'Curle is part of a dying stable

Eddie & ??? vs. The Assassins Guild

Mystery man rule

K’Lee Hawkins vs Mr Blood

The UK belt is vacant, right? Time for the K'Lee push!

The Manchester Seagulls vs.Pride

Pride are ace, the seagulls ain't

La Revolution vs. The Strange Quarks vs. The Wildcards

Wildcards will beat the jobbers here

Jeff Nova & Joss Thompson vs. Jonathan Faust & Pitbull Jones

The consensus seems to be draw. I concur.

Adam Matravers vs. Merle O’Curle

I'm drinking a Red Bull right now, so yea.

Eddie & ??? vs. The Assassins Guild

Cornells don't lose. They are winners baby. Plus, the universe is named after his cousin.

K’Lee Hawkins vs. Mr Blood

Dominant heel is dominant.

The Manchester Seagulls vs. Pride

Pride is on the way up, though technically so are the Seagulls. Get it?

La Revolution vs. The Strange Quarks vs. The Wildcards

I hate the Quarks.

QUICK PICKS:

Jeff Nova & Joss Thompson vs. Jonathan Faust & Pitbull Jones

The consensus seems to be draw, but I'll take Nova and Thompson here.

Adam Matravers vs. Merle O’Curle

Should be a good match, but I think Matravers has more upside.

Eddie & ??? vs. The Assassins Guild

Mystery Man Rule + Cornell Rule.

K’Lee Hawkins vs. Mr Blood

I feel like he's doing more right now

The Manchester Seagulls vs. Pride

Dragons+Lions>Seagulls

La Revolution vs. The Strange Quarks vs. The Wildcards

I'm probably wrong, but the Wildcards just lost to Hot Stuff so I'd say we might as well give another team a push.
