Faust is one of the slipperiest men in UK wrestling. He’s always got a plan on the go and it invariably involves skulduggery, but can he back up his scheming in the ring?

The Ivanoffs and Elimination are former tag champs whilst the Assassin’s guild have the backing of Jonathan Faust. Geordie Nation are a new team but K’Lee has had a successful career in 21CW.

 

This match could go to anyone and will certainly catapult one team into contention for the titles.

Eddie Cornell vs. Steve Stoat

Could go either way and this match will tell a lot about where these two stand at the moment but Stoat´s alliance with Price makes him more important from these two on my eyes.

 

Danny Francis vs. Jonathan Faust

I like Faust and I see no reason why he couldn´t win here.

 

Grey Angel vs. Luke Cool (Non-Title)

non-title so could go either way but I still go with champ as we don´t yet know what kind of role these two will have.

 

Too Hot vs. Adam Matravers & Pitbull Brown

However, here I will go with the usual champ doesn´t win non-title matches route as Too Hot doesn´t seem to me as all dominant champions but rather guys who manage to get wins via dirty tricks when they need to

 

Assassin’s Guild vs. Brothers Ivanoff vs. Elimination vs. Geordie Nation

No idea so I just pick my favorites here.

“That’s why I’m not going to step in and reprimand Kathleen, Leo and Steve for their attack last week. A true champion fights his own battles and Joss is certainly one of those.

 

“And I’m not going to lie – you fans have made it clear that you want to see how events unfold.

 

”In 21CW we listen to our fans. So I’ve made the first match for this month’s Steel Cage Challenge. At the end of January we’ll see Joss Thompson take on Leo Price one on onefor the 21CW World Title.”

“Real men? Adam has forgotten more about sick moves, excitement on being extreme than you two will ever know. Whilst you two are pouring on the baby oil Adam is downing Red Bull. His blood is basically pure Red Bull!

 

“If you hadn’t cut me off I was going to say Adam wants a taste of success so he’s coming for gold. And he’s got a partner for tonight – Pitbull Brown.”

Adam and Pitbull are clearly superior fighters but they just don’t have the timing and instincts to preserve their strength by tagging in and out. Too Hot on the other hand Are a real team and seem smooth in their tactics.

 

Nevertheless Pitbull Brown takes control and locks his patented Dog Collar (modified sleeper) onto Jay. At that point Buff attacks to break it up and Adam also piles in forcing the ref to end the match.

 

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Pit Bull Brown and Adam Matravers drew with Hot Stuff in 15:19 when the match descended into chaos.

Jeff Nova again appears in the ring to introduce tonight’s 4-way tag match.

 

“Ladies and gentlemen – before this year the tag division here in 21CW was a small little competiion. We’ve decided to change that for 2010 by bringing in some of the most exciting teams in Europe in. Tonight is the first taste of that as we present for you:

 

“The Assassin’s Guild. Predator and Snake have been hand-trained by Jonathan Faust to be cold-blooded winners.

 

“The Brothers Ivanoff. Feared across London for their Russian gangland tactics.

 

“Elimination – Two of the craziest, most hardcore savages you’ll ever see in a ring. I’m not sure they’re even totally human.

 

“And The Geordie Nation. K’Lee Hawkins is one of our very own heroes and he’s brought his uncle Jimmy in to show everyone that Newcy Brown is superior to protein supplements and gyms.

 

“Whoever wins this match will be receiving their very own title shot against Too Hot at Steel Cage Challenge.”

Absolute chaos. Four teams and 8 men all over the ring and all over the arena is too much for a ref to keep track of and they take advantage with brutal two-on-one attacks (Elimination and the Ivanoffs), sneaky weapons (The Assassins Guild) and surprise sacks of rubbish (Geordie Nation) all used to great effect.

 

There could only be one winner even in as close a match as this and it’s everyone’s favourite binman K’Lee Hawkins who seals it when he slaps his famed Crossface Chickenwing onto Snake and forces him to tap.

 

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Geordie Nation defeated The Ivanoff Brothers, Elimination and The Assassins' Guild in 9:42.

Geordie Nation celebrate wildly (It’s almost as if the two binmen from the frozen North don’t have much to be happy about) but it doesn’t last for long as two big men with terrifying skull facepaint assault the ring and the Geordies.

The Night Terrors (Mr Evilness & Mr Nightmare) lay the two men out and simultaneously chokeslam them in the centre of the ring before a silenced crowd before Mr Evilness grabs a mic and simply says (in his broad Italian accent):

 

“Quake inna fear leetle people. We donta care if you no likea de zombeez. Weza the Night Terrors and weza coming to eata your brains!”

Rolling Johnny Stones appears in his latest outfit. This time he’s wearing ripped tights over what appears to be a lycra tiger-print vest with a leather biker jacket. Nikki Sixx is probably wondering where his gear got to.

 

“HELLO LONDON!

 

“I’m so pleased to be here with you tonight and giving you some hope in your little lives. Not everyone can be a megastar rock god like me so I know you all look to me to live vicariously through. Because I know you love watching my life and thinking what could have been Im even going to double your excitement. Please give my new partner a big hand – Mr Luke COOL!”

Luke Cool also enters wearing his finest Motley Crue gear. He’s got a headband on as well for extra points.

 

Before Luke can say anything dry ice billows out of the floor and sepulchral choir music plays. Grey Angel is here!

“Luke Cool. I have looked into your mind. Your are an innocent but if you proceed down this path with the one called Stones this will not be true any longer. Evilness, vanity and greed cannot be tolerated. This is your last chance. Step aside or face the consequences.”

 

With that Grey Angel serenely floats to the ring.

 

Luke Cool looks a bit nervous, but (at Johnny’s urging) climbs into the ring to fight.

This match is unorthodox but entertaining as Angel appears to float serenely whilst Luke Cool (supported by Johnny) charges around with great energy.

Well into the match Rolling Johnny Stones actually climbs into the ring and taps Grey Angel on the shoulder. As Angel turns Stones smashes him with a huge elbow and Angel goes down hard.

 

Stones and Cool celebrate but Angel sits up straight and rises to his feet as if nothing happened. Stones and Cool just stare in shock and Grey Angel drops them both with a standing roundhouse kick before rolling up Luke Cool for the win.

 

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Grey Angel defeated Luke Cool in 10:05 by pinfall. During the match we also had Rolling Johnny Stones distract Angel.

“You know over the last couple of weeks I’ve seen a lot of guys run their mouths off about how great they are and how they deserve a title, and yadda, yadda, yadda.

 

“Have all these people forgotten who the real faces of the company are?

 

“I’m here tonight to reaffirm what you all know. I’m the man you want to see on TV. I’m the man your kids stay up late at night to see. I’m the man your wives stay up even later to watch.

 

“I’m here tonight to make sure my name is firmly at the top of posters.”

 

B-

 

Danny Francis vs. Jonathan Faust

Both men here are good athletes and it’s a classic back and forth match but Faust is on no way a fair fighter and constantly needles Danny. In a standard hold he pulls Danny’s dreads, pinches his arms and is generally annoying and dirty.

 

That’s not to say Faust isn’t an impressive fighter in his own right and when combined with his tactics it makes him super-hard to beat.

 

As Danny finds out when Faust uses the ropes to make sure of a pinfall.

 

In a bout that had solid in-ring action and average heat, Jonathan Faust defeated Danny Francis in 13:48 by pinfall while using the ropes for leverage.

“We showed you last week that it doesn’t matter what you think or do. What matters is the desire to do what you need to to win.

 

“We showed Joss Thompson that he might have the belt for now but we’re in charge of things and we’ll be taking that belt at Steel Cage Challenge when Leo beats him. Again."

 

At this point Jeff Nova’s music kicks in (the theme tune of World’s Strongest Man) and the Boss comes out.

Eddie Cornell vs. Steve Stoat

Steve Stoat is a machine. He’s hugely physical and his style is a good blend of flying and brawling. He’s clearly watched a lot of Japanese wrestling on TV.

 

Eddie meanwhile is much more straight-forward. He’s a Lancashire lad and if someone needs punching he’ll punch them.

 

The match is a good one but Kathleen Lee ends it by showing a whole load of leg to Eddie and as he’s momentarily distracted Stoat gives him a straight kick to the back of the head for the win.

 

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Steve Stoat defeated Eddie Cornell in 25:07 by pinfall with a Super Kick following interference from Kathleen Lee.

Well that was a long show wasn’t it?

I’ll probably scale back the shows a little bit after January just so I can get them out a bit quicker and they’re not so off-putting to read.

Personally I can only take in so much anyway. Zergon and Jingo’s shows are about right for me.

So anyway – a fair bit happened. At this stage we do have distinct storylines but there’s a certain amount of establishing character and loose relationships/alliances so apologies if it’s a bit scrambled!

A bit lower than I expected but only one person went for the Geordies in the tag match. Well done midnightnick – please feel free to select your choice of merchandise and we’ll knock it up ASAP.

The reason they won is K’Lee is quite a bit further ahead of everyone else in pop. I see almost all of the teams as quite close though – so the favourites (Elimination and the Ivanoffs) will all get some love.

Nice to see Mr Evilness & Mr Nightmare again:).

 

They just seem so obvious to me and I never really got to play with them in HIW. Nightmare is a FAR better fit in an SE company with a face/heel split.

 

They look similar

Evilness can cover Nightmare's deficiencies in the ring and on the mic.

Nightmares menace adds huge points to angles.

Nightmare gets trained up.

You can run a good monster storyline without Nightmare getting too high too soon.

I love Italian splatter horror films. I can just hear "Eatta your brainza" SO clearly in my head.

 

Anyway - much more to come.

“Oh Kathleen. You’ve underestimated me again. I’m sure you were hoping for some 2nd rate team to appear and make your new lapdogs look great. You know I’ll stand up to you though. Anything you do I’m here to cause you problems. And if you don’t like it? TOUGH LUCK.”

Snaptime seem like they fit well in The Takeover. Undemonstrative, technical fighters who don’t showboat – just concentrate on winning.

Unfortunately they’re up against stars of tomorrow and the rookies couldn’t quite maintain their early momentum before Eddie seized the match and took the win.

 

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Eddie Cornell and DJ Reason defeated Snaptime in 12:40 when Eddie Cornell defeated Nigel Svensson by pinfall with a Black Lightning Bomb. During the match we also had Steve Stoat run in and attack Cornell.

After the match Eddie is celebrating with DJ Reason glad that they managed a tough win when Jonathan Faust appears and starts to clap slowly.

"I saw a fella who glowed in the dark once. But it was Middlesbrough. Typical smoggies. Anyway - on with the preparation Uncle. We've got a titlematch to get ready for."

A fascinating clash of styles as the physical, but crude Ivanoffs take on the Geordies who look like thugs but are surprisingly technically accomplished. The match progresses nicely with both teams looking like potential winners until everything is thrown out by another attack from the splatter-zombies the Night Terrors (Mr Evilness & Mr Nightmare)

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Geordie Nation drew with The Ivanoff Brothers in 10:25 following a double disqualification. During the match we also saw Mr. Evilness run in and attack Geordie Jimmy, and Mr. Nightmare also attack K'Lee.

Tonight they appear to be dressed as a tribute to early Hamburg era Beatles. They’re wearing matching leather jackets and looking pretty cool to be fair.

“Where does that pale freak Grey Angel get off last week? Telling Luke that he’d been judged and was innocent and all that. He may have been innocent once but after a bit of time with me there’s a long list of angry fathers who’d say he was anything but.

 

“Anyway – the fact remains it’s a smokescreen. At Steel Cage Challenge I’ll be taking my title shot and Grey Angel will just be another emo kid with too much makeup.”

In 21CW all the athletes are strong, but as Orwell would say – some athletes are stronger than others.

 

Unfortunately for the Daveys that’s the simple case here as Cool and Stones take a strong advantage early on but can’t quite finish the match. At least until Grey Angel appears in his trademark grey fog. That certainly seems to motivate the Rockstars (who might be more scared than they admit) and Stones manages to redouble his efforts and snag the 3-count.

 

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Rockstar Lifestyle defeated The Anglo-Scots Connection in 9:39 when Rolling Johnny Stones defeated Davey Celtic by pinfall with a Brainbuster. During the match we also had Grey Angel distract Stones.

The big fella has gritted teeth, bulging eyes and is straining so much it appears he might be performing a very personal bodily function.

 

Fortunately the camera pans out and we can see he’s actually pumping a weightlifters bar.

 

The camera pans out further and we can see that instead of weights there are two pretty girls hanging off each end of the bar.

 

Business jones is SERIOUSLY strong.

Phil Cooper is a pretty good worker to be honest, but not on the level of Business Jones who seems strong and smart here but does have the unfortunate habit of making things hard for himself with more ridiculous clumsiness. For every big slam there’s a whiff of a punch that swings Jones around or a tangling rope that trips him up.

 

The crowd find it pretty funny of course and this makes Business even more annoyed leading him to cheat for the win.

 

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Business Jones defeated Phillip Cooper in 12:53 by pinfall, illegally using the ropes for leverage.

“DUDES! What a show. The guys have been taking it the LIMIT! Back in the states I had no IDEA you guys had so much talent over here. I know that a bunch of the guys here in 21CW wouldn’t look out of place in some of the big companies back home but why would they go there? Why would anyone leave when 2CW is TAKING OFF!?!

 

“At least most of the guys are. It just sucks hard that we’ve got some BAD APPLES. Bad dudes like Leo and Steve Aren’t bad in a Michael Jackson, cool way. They’re just BAD. You guys – the fans – know it and I’m here to do something about it…"

 

Of course the top man is interrupted and The Takeover come out to surround Joss in the ring.

 

With Leo, Steve Stoat, Merle O’Curle and Nigel Svensson all present Joss seems in a real bad position.

“Steve and Leo will be fighting Joss Thompson and, seeing as Eddie has already had a match with the Takeover tonight, Pitbull Brown!”

This is top-notch stuff as all four men show great and committed effort. This is clearly personal for everyone involved.

The match goes back and forth with everyone looking top class before the inevitable attempt to get involved by Kathleen backfires resulting in Joss getting a clear shot at Stoat whilst Kathleen and Leo untangle themselves.

 

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Joss Thompson and Pit Bull Brown defeated Steve Stoat and Leo Price in 24:10 when Joss Thompson defeated Steve Stoat by pinfall with a Clean Cutter following a mix up by Kathleen Lee.

Lots got set up there too.

 

I think this is probably the biggest stable I've ever had in a diary. Although thats not saying much.

 

Obviously Joss has got some support against his ex-friends but Faust sounded like he was hinting about entering the fray too...
