That opening match got a fantastic grade for the eight men in it (not counting the VHB, of course). Really enjoying your portrayal of Silva Dolla too, which almost certainly would have been...borrowed...by me had I not already started <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I know, the grade surprised me, too. But most of those guys can wrestle (Doherty and Mercury, in particular) and the VHB pulled it all together. I'm really starting to get feel for the roster and whose characters that I'm developing I like more than others. I'm sure as everything progesses, it'll be quite obvious who my favorites are. </p><p> </p><p> Along that line, I love Silva Dolla, too, can you tell? His entertainment skill-set almost demands that he be featured once or twice every single show, alot like how people will spam Rip Chord in MAW or Sam Strong in USPW when playing C-Verse games. I will graciously be following in that shameless line until further notice or until someone else gets the grades he guarantees.</p><p> </p><p> I'm going to be doing a preview and a prediction key for the PPV's, instead of every TV show, so one of those is coming your way as well as a check in from Shane Allman as he discusses the first month after "Night of Survival".</p>

The main event of “Night of Survival”, PWI Heavyweight Champion Scott Hart will defend his title against the first ever PWI Champion, a man who had been at home, on the sidelines of the business for seven years up until four weeks ago, Shay Kinsella. Their first match was so evenly matched that, in order to find out who is truly the better man, the match at “Night of Survival” will, aptly, be an ironman match. The street thug Silva Dolla has been running roughshod over his opposition since joining PWI, winning the TV Title on his first night and already stuffing a handful of defenses of it under his flak-jacket. Anderson Peters had the best opportunity to unseat him, but was kicked in the groin and obliterated with a “Dolla’ Maker” just as his momentum peaked. PWI President Vance Cole ordered Dolla to give the veteran match technician Peters a rematch. And here we are.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

With so many different styles and types of wrestlers in PWI, we present you with a five corner showcase match featuring some of our best and most distinct stars. The former TV Champion the masked El Estandar will square off with the returning super high flyer Ryan Doherty, the innovative goth-cruiser Kris Phoenix, the disgruntled, directionless Jay Paro, and the stocky, densely muscled “Boston Suplex Machine” Mike O’Reilly. All five men are looking to get noticed as the next era of Pro Wrestling Integrity begins.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

The PWI Tag Team Champions, the ultra-arrogant Bollywood Knights think they have gotten a bit of a free pass from the front office, drawing the makeshift team of MMA toughguy Bobby Ruiz and incendiary babyface Ricky Fyre. But The Bollywoods have been spending so much time living the lives of young movers and shakers they, the executive movie producers may be looking past their opponents a bit. In PWI, that is a very dangerous strategy.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Two of the crown jewels of PWI’s next generation will square off in what promises to be a highlight match on the card, when the now solo and loving it Ethan Paro steps into the ring to take on “The Man of the Millennium” Tyler Mercury. Since splitting from his brother Jay and leaving the tag team ranks, Ethan Paro has blossomed, becoming what many industry folks though he always could be; a certain future champion. But Tyler Mercury, even though he has been on the slide of late, is a man with many, many show-stopping performances in his recent past. Can he brew up another show stopper for a pay-per-view audience and derail Paros’ train to the top, or is Ethan’s juggernaut too fast to stop?</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<p>Scott Hart<strong> vs.</strong> Shay Kinsella -Ironman Match for PWI Title</p><p> </p><p>

<em>I don't see Kinsella wining the title here, but I can see a draw here to extend the fued; especially given the iron man rules.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Silva Dolla</strong> vs. Anderson Peters - TV Title Rematch</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Kris Phoenix is probably the best overall wrestler here, but I'll say Doherty makes a successful comeback from injury as he seems the most relevant one here storyline wise.</em></p>

This card looks spectacular! Again, it feels like a PWI card to me and to have put a stamp on a promotion after only four shows is very impressive (especially considering I've seen the promotion go from nothing but a logo and a banner to a excellently written diary by a hall of famer!).

Scott Hart vs. Shay Kinsella -Ironman Match for PWI Title

This match will probably blow the rest of the night out of the water. Like Tiberious I could see Shay Kinsella putting up enough of a fight to make this a draw, however I have a sneaking suspicion that Scott might just edge it (probably 1 - 0).

Silva Dolla vs. Anderson Peters - TV Title Rematch

Despite the fact he's a little bland I have grown to really like Peters. He's the sort of no-nonsense, all-round nice guy that you like to see doing well. That said, you've turned Dolla into a immediate superstar and as such I don't think he'll be losing the belt here.

Bollywood Knights vs. Ricky Fyre/Bobby Ruiz - PWI Tag Team Title Match

Fyre & Ruiz could be a decent prospect as an oddball pairing, but I think the experience of the Knights might just edge things here.

Ethan Paro vs. Tyler Mercury

Tyler Mercury has the potential to be one of PWI's greatest ever stars, but I think you've got your eye on Paro for a similar role. Fortunately, Mercury's rise seems inevitable in most games and I think a loss here will hurt him far less than it would Paro.

El Estandar vs. Ryan Doherty vs. Jay Paro vs. Kris Phoenix vs. Mike O'Reilly

All five of these men have a good reason to win this match; Phoenix to establish himself; Paro to prove the doubters wrong; O'Reilly because he's a wrestling machine; Estandar because the fans would love it; but I think Ryan Doherty's return to ring action, especially as a 'PWI man', would be the biggest moment of the match and so that gives him the nod.

Made my night, jhd. Thanks for the boost. :)

BTW, I have a few more of these wrestler profiles to get to, or I'll still be doing them for the original roster when we're twenty shows deep. So, here's one to cut the pile down somewhat.

Ht: 6'3

WT: 240

Finisher: "Dolla Maker" (Stunner)

Standing six-foot-three and weighing two hundred and forty pounds, the thickly muscled, flak-jacket wearing Harlem native is one of the brightest young stars in the wrestling industry today. After spending some time on the indy circuit, Dolla signed with the AWF and saw his career take off as he was fast tracked to the top, becoming one of the company’s main attractions. But, in a shocking move, Silva Dolla showed up in PWI four weeks ago, having wrestled for AWF’s top title less than twenty-four hours before, and promptly won the PWI TV Title from El Estandar. Despite having a fairly limited offensive move-set the streetwise Dolla is blacktop tough and possesses a fabulous finishing move, the “Dolla Maker” (a stunner) that he can pull out and deliver from just about any position in the ring. Currently, he is doing his best to get under the skin of the Hart clan, finally getting James Gilmour-Hart into the ring last week on PWI TV.

-Show #5-

PWI Night of Survival

LIVE on PPV

Sold Out from McGaw Arena in New York (TS)(5,000)

What is Pro Wrestling Integrity?

PWI is pride.

PWI is respect.

PWI is passion.

PWI is sacrifice.

PWI is PRO WRESTLING!

A customary pan with the crane cam all around the fist pumping fan filled McGaw Arena opens the show before the shot settles on the suit-and-tie-wearing Dave Carrasco and January Kyle, looking ageless in her little black dress, at the broadcast location.

DC: “PWI is live on pay-per-view tonight from one of the great old wrestling buildings in New York City, New York, and January, tonight’s show is called “Night of Survival” and it will be a big test to see if our two singles champions can ‘survive’ their rematches.”

JK: “I think both Heavyweight Champion Scott Hart and TV Champion Silva Dolla have their hands full tonight. Once someone has seen you in the ring and gotten a feel for what you do in there, the playing field levels somewhat. You only get one chance to make a first impression. Shay Kinsella and Anderson Peters have already “met” their opponents once; there will be few surprises.”

DC: “On that note, let’s head to the ring for the PWI PPV debut….of Silva Dolla.”

Silva Dolla vs. Anderson Peters

-PWI TV Title Rematch-

Peters is sharp at the outset and really sets the pace against the slower afoot TV Champion, using a myriad of strikes and kicks to stagger Dolla. But, as you might expect, Silva Dolla begins exerting his influence at about the four minute mark, hitting the mark with his vicious trademark barrage of overhand punches. With the referee on notice after the way their first encounter ended, Dolla never gets a chance to cut corners. He doesn’t need to.

DC: “Just like their first match, isn’t it? Silva Dolla is just too much for him.”

JK: “That one ended quickly, too.”

The end comes as Peters seems to be rallying again, looking to sneak the gogoplata onto Dolla somehow, but Dolla ducks under a wild lariat attempt from Anderson and hits the ropes himself, quickly sneaking behind Peters and dropping him flat with a wicked “Dolla Maker” that nets him the tidy three.

DC: “Dolla rolls again. I like Peters, but he was no match for the TV Champion.”

Result: Silva Dolla wins via pinfall @ 7:49

As he has been doing on PWI’s weekly television program, Silva Dolla lingers in the ring long after his match’s conclusion. He has his police hat back on, pulled low, brim to the left, and is wearing the TV title belt, fastened shut, around his neck. Without fail, he also has a microphone.

“What up New York? I’m home; holla’ at your boy!”

He stalks around flashing his gold grill as there are more cheers for him than usual.

“Now I know ya’ll already know this, but I schooled the only Hart that would get in the same ring with me.”

They boo as he references his win over JGH on last week’s TV.

“Since the other two are scared, and I whipped Baby Huey…..”

He runs up the turnbuckles and holds the TV Title above his head with one hand.

“AND I’M THE PWI TV CHAMPION….”

Dolla snarls.

“I think that means I’m the MAN around here. The big dog.”

He nods as he steps down off of the buckle.

El Estandar vs. Ryan Doherty vs. Kris Phoenix vs. Jay Paro vs. Mike O’Reilly

Having five men doing battle in the ring at the same time makes for a bit of a clusterf*ck of action for the fans to follow. Luckily for us, PWI has the most attentive and educated fans out there; this one was a treat for them, no doubt. The returning and still somewhat rusty Doherty has the highlight of the match, landing a springboard 720* onto the other four combatants who are battling outside on the floor. Kris Phoenix and El Estandar really get into it at one point, with O’Reilly coming to the masked man’s aid when Jay Paro joins Phoenix in making it a two on one stomp down.

A few minutes afterward, with the action now happening wildly on the floor, Ryan Doherty gets left alone in the ring with the reeling Estandar. In seconds he has him on his back and climbs to the top, hitting a pedestrian-in-the-face-of his-last-dive 450* on El Estandar for the win.

DC: “Ryan Doherty had better be sure to have his flight license handy; if the FAA picked up on any of that stuff we just saw, we could be heavily fined!”

JK: “Agreed. And I wouldn’t be surprised to see Phoenix and Paro in the ring together as a team coming up sometime soon. Jay’s been looking for a partner since his thing with Ethan fizzled hasn’t he?”

DC: “He has. And he and Phoenix looked pretty good working as a unit out there.”

Result: Ryan Doherty wins via pinfall @ 12:59

Bollywood Knights vs. Bobby Ruiz/Ricky Fyre

-PWI Tag Team Title Match-

The makeshift team of Bobby Ruiz and Ricky Fyre puts a scare into the PWI Tag Team champions, rallying with a pair of surprisingly cohesive double shoulderblocks, but in the end, The Bollywood Knights are far too experienced as a team, using quick in and out exchanges to wear out the much bigger Ruiz, who spends the bulk of his team’s time in the ring. Singh traps Ruiz in the corner with a sleeper and the bigger man s lowly begins fading. Fyre freaks out in his corner, seeing The Bollywoods holding the ropes and each other for extra leverage, but there is nothing he can do as Ruiz drops to one knee. The referee checks him, dropping his arm three times before calling for the bell.

Result: The Bollywood Knights win via stoppage @ 8:04

A pre-produced video package rolls, flashing the logos of SWA, Dragon Pro, LWA, and ILL, melding them all together until a newly forged NWA logo appears from the muddled mess and the phrase “Keeping the promise” rolls up from the bottom of the screen. This is the first on-air promotion done by any of the members of the brand new National Wrestling Alliance acknowledging the partnership between these promotions.

Ethan Paro vs. Tyler Mercury

Paro has great timing and has his coming-out party on pay-per-view against “The Man of the Millennium” Tyler Mercury. Try as he might, Mercury pushes the pace, but Ethan stymies him at every turn, having a reversal for everything Mercury tries.

DC: “And this is damn near as a complete a domination as you can get.”

JK: “I did not expect this, did you?”

DC: “Can’t say I did.”

Paro notes the presence of his brother, Jay, near the foot of the ramp, and seems to signal to him before whipping Mercury into the ropes and nearly decapitating him with a lariat. Jay gives him the thumbs down as Ethan sends the barely-there Mercury back into the ropes, turning him over violently with his tilt-a-whirl backbreaker and getting the pinfall as a result.

DC: “We knew Ethan Paro was good, but, after a win like that….”

JK: “He’s one of the best in PWI, for sure.”

DC:”I was going to say he might be THE best. That was impressive.”

Result: Ethan Paro wins via pinfall @ 14:49

The Van Holt Brotherhood are backstage, looking like they are about to throw down with Nick and James Gilmour-Hart again, but Jimmy South gets in between the two feuding teams and starts swinging his trademark airbrushed megaphone in all directions until they all stop to look at his ridiculousness.

JS: “Look! Everybody here; all of us. We need to get this thing between us over with. How long has this been going on?”

He turns toward Nick.

JS: “I can’t get my boys to start thinking about the tag team titles until they can put this thing with you guys in the past, you know what I’m saying, daddy? I mean, I’ve already talked to them about it. What do we need to do to end this thing with you?”

Nick brings his hand up to his chin and nods, thinking. The tension has cooled.

Until JGH reaches in and decks Jimmy South with an overhand left, viciously dropping the tiny manager before diving headlong into Jesse Van Holt, igniting the four man battle that almost started a few minutes ago, one that needs to be broken up by building security.

Scott Hart vs. Shay Kinsella

-60 Minute Ironman Match for the PWI Heavyweight Title-

Hart and Kinsella pick up where they left off two weeks ago when they first met and treat the fans to an all-the-bells-and-whistles old school technical exhibition for the initial half of the match. But when thirty-five minutes or so have passed and neither man has a single fall to his credit, the action begins to ratchet up another few clicks and turn into a certifiable barnburner.

DC: “Both Hart and Kinsella keep looking for their finishing moves, but they each have the other scouted so well, neither can find the opportunity.”

JK: “Since Kinsella came back on the scene, we’ve seen how much time that Scott’s been devoting to watching tape of the inaugural PWI champion and vice versa. But “The Iceman” seems like he realizes Kinsella still has tricks he hasn’t seen.”

Kinsella runs up the turnbuckles and levels Hart with a back-flipping moonsault, hopping to his feet and springing onto the top rope once again in one fluid motion. But Hart still has plenty in the tank and gets to his feet in time to launch a dropkick toward the oncoming Kinsella, stopping the challenger in mid-air and leaving both men in a heap.

DC: “This is Hart’s chance!”

Hart drags Kinsella toward the logo in the center of the ring and begins to apply the figure four leglock, but the veteran wildly shimmies toward the ropes and latches onto the lowest strand and gets to the floor, saving himself.

But when Hart leans out to grab Kinsella, he gets grabbed by the back on the head and guillotined on the top rope by the challenger who immediately gets back up on the apron and sets himself in position for a springboard move, lining up the staggering champion.

JK: “Kinsella can feel the title around his waist again; there are only a few minutes left in this thing and he’s got Hart teetering on the edge!”

Hart turns around, his chin an inviting target for Kinsella who launches himself, springboard style, over the top cable, with a missile dropkick. But at the last possible moment, Hart reaches out and grabs Kinsella’s legs and driving him to the mat, turning the whole thing into an ugly powerbomb that leads directly into the figure four.

DC: “This time, he’s got it locked in!”

He does, repeatedly barring his arms on both sides to keep the flailing Kinsella from turning it over and reversing the pressure. It is cinched in. The pain is evident on Kinsella’s face as he tries to hang on….but he cannot, tapping wildly a few seconds later.

Hart releases the hold and Kinsella rolls into the corner, cradling his injured leg. Hart waits for the referee’s signal before continuing, but when he gets the nod, he goes right for the damaged limb, kicking and stomping Kinsella into a mess.

He begins dragging the still fighting Kinsella toward the center of the ring, seemingly determined to once again lock in the figure four when the ring announcer begins counting down from twenty; the last twenty seconds of the match.

Hart latches onto his leg once again, but realizing the match is almost over, looks like he decides to not torture the already injured leg of Kinsella by locking in the hold once more. That’s when Kinsella sees his opportunity, grabbing hold of Hart’s head and rolling him up with a small package.

DC: “ONE……TWO……THR…..NOOOOOO!”

JK: “I don’t believe it. How close was that?”

Time expires as Hart picks himself up off the mat, smiling somewhat. Kinsella and the referee join him in it for a brief moment before the bell begins ringing and Hart gets his arm raised and his belt returned.

Result: Scott Hart wins via stipulation @ 60:00

There is a small celebration of PWI workers happening on the ramp as the show goes to the close. Scott leaves the ring and heads back toward the locker room area, meeting the already packed and in street gear Nick and JGH as he does so, holding them back for a minute as he pulls his windsuit on and stuffs all of his important things into his bag. The show’s theme song rings out in the arena and Dave Carrasco can be heard signing off on the monitors that the Harts pass as they make their way out a side door near the interior production area. They manage a laugh or two as they all sorely walk toward the big SUV they arrived in, with Scott looking the worst for wear, really favoring his back.

Suddenly, there is the roar of an engine. And there are taillights.

The Harts scatter as the white truck wails into the side of their SUV, but Scott is nicked, and screams out, landing hard on the pavement before rolling few feet away. The truck pulls ahead again and the tires smoke as it gets thrown into reverse, coming back for the Harts and their SUV again. Nick grabs Scott by the arm and pulls him out of the way as JGH just barely dives the other way to safety; the truck misses them all but connects with the side of the suburban again, leaving pieces of it falling off.

Then, all at once, with all three Harts trying to pick themselves up off of the parking lot, the truck floors it again and begins to tear out of sight, leaving Scott, Nick, and James all wondering what just happened.

The logo pops up in the corner of the screen just as the brake lights on the truck’s rear flash.

Wait.

They are coming back.

It screeches up once again, from a long way away, this time completely bashing into the side of the SUV full force before the doors fly open.

"AND THE BROOKYLN BULLY"!

<a href="http://s179.photobucket.com/albums/w286/NoNeck_photo/?action=view&current=Cross.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w286/NoNeck_photo/Cross.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

"AND…..GOOD GOD; IS THAT CROSS?"

"PWSUX GUYS? WHAT COULD THEY EVEN WANT WITH THE HARTS?"

The beatdown is on and the Harts don’t stand a chance. Cross has a baseball bat and begins rapping it against whichever Hart he is nearest to. Bully flings JGH over the hood of the damaged SUV while Cross mercilessly hammers on Scott and Nick.

The sound of sirens breaks the scene; Diablo yells out that they need to get going. He and Bully both dive back into their truck, but Cross reaches into the back bed of the white F150 while pulling a lighter from his pocket.

With the flick of his thumb, the bottle now in his hand is on fire and is in the air, exploding against the side of the Harts’ SUV, sending it up.

DC: “I’m not even really sure what’s happening out there, or why it’s happening, but goddammit, we need some police, some firemen, and we damn sure are going to need an ambulance or three. Somebody call 911!”

Guest Booker: Legacy Edition

The Pro Wrestling Integrity of Shane Allman

“That was a fairly standard month of both production and booking. I would suspect that nothing about PWI looked a whole lot different to any of our viewers. But if they actually knew about how much was set to change, how much was in the process of changing, and how much had actually changed already, they’d be astonished.”

“We kept our Heavyweight Champion strong, extending his reign to eleven months, debuted our next big star, gave him the TV Title, and watched him run with it, and started getting several of our future stars into better position and more over.”

“The two big picture things that I’m focusing on, the formation of the NWA, both as a storyline and as a business venture, and the PWSUX invasion are both going perfectly.”

“All of the NWA promotions except for one (LWA, SWA, ILL, and PWSUX have; Dragon Pro has not) have followed our lead and turned the hostility between themselves and the AWF into a full-fledged declaration of war. Dragon Pro, being the other ‘big-brother’ promotion of the group, may or may not follow along; it won’t matter even if they never do, the pecking from all-sides attack on AWF has begun in earnest, and with the memory of them being the ones who broke the initial promotional accord, they are the bad guys in every situation in the minds of the fans.”

“For my part in the initial raids on AWF, I offered contracts to Chris Candell and Bryce Christiansen. My reasons in targeting the two of them were twofold. First, obviously, both are talented workers just entering their primes. But even more than that, both were anchors of two of the AWF’s upper end tag teams. Pulling the more talented partner out of the promotion means, not only does their overall worker level drop a bit over there with the departures, but they lose two tag teams in one fell swoop. Obviously, it’s not going to cause widespread chaos, but it’s going to be a burr in their saddle, without question. We’ll be adding a few more of those as we go along. It’s only the first month of the game, after all.”

“The only negative thing I can think of was that I attempted to offer contracts to VIP and Sebastian Curtis. Both are workers I feel I could build the whole shebang around, especially Curtis. But due to our relationship with Dragon Pro and their unwillingness to break their old accord with AWF, I was stuck. Offering anyway would surely ruin things with Dragon Pro before we even got started, and that would ruin everything. Besides, I don’t just want to put AWF under, I want to shut them all down and be the only one there is.”

“That’s the plan, anyway.”

“I can wait.”

Great grades (and well deserved!). I thought I had already replied with this, by the way, so sorry for the delay - but that was a fantastically written PPV. The PWSUX invasion was definitely designed to shock, but I think it worked well as it clearly defines the differences between the two promotions and, by proxy, the two rosters. Will be interesting to see how things progress in that regard. :)

Great PPV NoNeck.

Like jhd, I think your closing "first shot fired" PWSUX attack on the Harts, worked really well. Sufficiently brutal and over the top to make people stand up and take notice. Giving Silva Dolla the TV Title will serve him nicely until you push him up towards the main event and I nearly bought Kinsella's last-gasp nearfall in the Iron Man match, capitalising on Scott Hart's mercy/compassion. It does comes across that you're getting more and more into the PWI rosters - i.e. more of the characters are coming across strongly.

Thanks a lot guys. And good to see you onbaord, Sebs; always one of my favorite's with the insightful comments and the diaries that make me wonder why anyone reads my writing when yours is available.

I rather liked the PPV but kept it as cookie-cutter-ish as I could. I didn't want to have swerve after swerve with a roster full of guys that people are still trying to figure out who is who. That said, a couple more characters seem to flesh themselves out during each show, which is making it easier to plan going forward.

I will say that I'm a couple of shows ahead (written-wise) and that things just keep falling into place, gradewise, story wise, and character wise.

I'm smitten with the jhdverse. :)

Show #6, with all of the fallout from the PWSUX attack on PWI, will drop sometime later today. Keep your eyes peeled if it's your type of thing.

Thanks for the kind words NN, but you shouldn't do your own booking and writing talents down, plus you have the distinct advantage over me of regularly updating your diaries and getting beyond a few shows. :p

That said, I have got a jhdVerse diary in the works myself, which I've spent a little too much time doing during "downtime" at work. It's great to work with a far cleaner slate than the C-Verse for a change. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing your follow-up.

-Show #6-

PWI: Integrity, Tradition, Honor

LIVE Saturday on NCTV

Pennsylvania Park (TS) 2,000 (Sold Out)

-The show starts with a video of the nauseatingly violent assault on Pro Wrestling Integrity’s first family, The Harts, by members of the PWSUX roster outside of the McGaw arena in New York following “Night of Survival”. Dave Carrasco’s live call of “SOMEBODY CALL 911!” is repeated over and over again as the replay of the beating and subsequent burning of the Hart’s SUV is played, albeit with major edits to make it TV friendly. (B)

- Our first match pits the bitter brothers against each other once again and Ethan Paro and his broken sibling Jay go up one side of each other and down….well…..the other. Jay is vicious and really looks like he’s trying to hurt Ethan but eventually he begins being shortsighted, yelling at his former partner, right in his face, several different times as he maintains control. But his aggressiveness proves to be his undoing as he launches into a another tirade after just barely grazing Ethan with a spinning back kick; the fan favorite springs into action, bouncing off the turnbuckles and rolling Jay up with a modified small package. He kicks out at two and a half, but walks right into Ethan’s irish-whip attempt which leads to his tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. The three count comes quickly, but correctly. It really upsets the obviously beaten Jay, who goes bezerk and gouges the celebrating Ethan’s eye before dropping him on his head with a piledriver. Road agents, already with their guard up, fill the ringside area, but Jay walks without further incident, leaving his brother flat on his back. (C+)

-As promised in the show’s preview, Vance Cole is in the ring when we return from the first commercial break. He updates the fans on the conditions of the three PWI wrestlers, The Harts that were involved in the post PPV attack, saying that Nick is here tonight, ready to compete, but Scott is still hospitalized with JGH staying behind to be with him. He finishes by saying, “Any and all members of the PWSUX roster, office, or anyone subcontracted to them in any way, are hereby banned from any further PWI events as ordered by the fifth district superior court of Boston. Stay away or go to jail. Period. ” He holds up the court order so the camera can get a close-up of it. (B-)

-In a company where tag team wrestling actually does matter, we are treated to a four team tornado between three thrown together teams, the big Cajun- Leroy Dalton and the incendiary Ricky Fyre, Bobby Ruiz and Love Freedom, and the former TV Champion El Estandar and the “Boston Suplex Machine” Mike O’Reilly to go along with curtain jerking favorites the 24/7 Express. As you might expect, the match is all over the place, but develops nicely enough that when Estandar hits a second rope backflipping moonsault to cover Love Freedom after O’Reilly had laid him flat with a belly-to-belly, the crowd responds with a nice, respectful round of applause. (E+)

-In stark contrast to the videos shown last month profiling the Harts, particularly PWI Heavyweight Champion Scott, in which they used the most state-of-the-art technology available to train and prepare for matches, this short clip focuses on the old school Van Holt workout. It is complete with meat locker boxing and a running-lunges-with-logs scene; the absolute gamut. The montage finishes up with Jimmy South throwing an Allman Brothers tape into a beaten down boombox as Martin and Jesse rip the cover off a Styrofoam cooler and pull out a pair of beers each. They crack them and bash them against each other before taking long pours, emptying them both and crushing them against each other’s heads. (B-)

-The show comes back from a quick commercial hyping the “Night of Survival” replay and gets the fanboys all hopped up, debuting longtime AWF tag team stalwart Bryce Christensen as a singles competitor against goth Kris Phoenix, longtime fan favorite Ryan Doherty, and “The Man of the Millennium” Tyler Mercury. Everyone gets their spots in and the match progresses nicely with Ryan Doherty appearing to have things well in hand, leading Phoenix into a corner by his red-tipped black hair. But Phoenix’s surprise attempt at a tarantula on the ropes causes both men to tumble to the floor, leaving a confused Mercury standing watching. Christensen, lying in the weeds, sees his opportunity, and strikes, nailing Mercury with a pair of dropkicks before splattering him on the canvas with a wicked spinebuster .In seconds he has gotten onto the top turnbuckle and lined up Mercury; he leaps three quarters of the way across the ring to hit his bomb-like guillotine legdrop which lands with authority. The three count is a formality. (C+)

-“Pop-pop-pop-pop!” The gunshots ring out, signaling the start of Silva Dolla’s theme music, and seconds later, the resident thug of PWI makes his way down the aisle, snarling and keeping his police issue ballcap pulled low. “Now hear this. Silva Dolla’, the biggest money playa in pro wrestling today, rolled Baby Huey Hart on last week’s PWI TV, didn’t I? But it looks like I wasn’t the only one who was sick of them Hart boys acting like they own the whole damn company. They got it handed to them, street style at the ppv, didn’t they? I like it, dog, I like it. Couldn’t have done it better myself. Holla!” (B)

-With more than a few bruises and cuts still visible from the PWSUX attack, Nick Hart comes to the ring for a match against a quality opponent, Jesse Van Holt, who is accompanied by both his brother/partner, Martin, and their longtime manager, Jimmy South. Hart is the aggressor early but it becomes clear that the three men on the VHB side are going to work together to try to confuse him as things progress. And they succeed, running him around the ring several times, using great communication that leads to Nick’s demise. But when Jimmy South, thinking he has the referee’s attention, and looking to strike a blow against any Hart after getting cheap shotted by JGH at the PPV, orders Martin to climb upon to the apron, karma becomes Nick’s partner as the two brothers collide, giving the youngest Hart a window of opportunity. He rips off a pair of snap suplexes and drops a second rope elbow before grabbing hold of Jesse’s legs and twisting them up, turning him over uncomfortably in a scorpion death lock. Martin sees his brother stuck in the middle of the ring and tries to get involved, but Jimmy South holds him back, now that they are the referee’s focus again, not wanting to risk another fine from the front office, and, in seconds, Jesse taps. SHORTY FIRE BURNING ON THE DANCE FLOOR!

I've been waiting since the PPV to say that. Anyway, what stands out to me are the awesome, CBH-esque-style renders. Aside from a few people that I probably shouldn't like the look of, everyone's got some great faces.

I enjoyed the debut of Baron Von Rammstein (or whatever his name is; I've already forgotten). Anytime molotov cocktails get involved, I'm in.

And I want to punch Silva Dolla in the crotch. Hard.

Scott Hart is one of Britain's finest imports to America, known as being part of the extended Hart family with his brother Nick and step-brother James Gilmour-Hart. Scott is known as carrying a slight ego around with him, but he has thus far remained a professional and is extremely consistent in the ring. He is one of the few who has found a way to blend the stiff European style with the entertaining style the American audience goes for, and is probably the most accomplished in-ring of his family.

Although Scott slightly lacks in raw charisma, he has managed to let his in-ring personality do the talking, and has gotten quite over as a result.

Nick Hart is the younger brother of Scott Hart, and together those two have been a championship winning team in both their homeland and in America. The two Brits have grown up wrestling each other from London all the way across the pond, and therefore have quite inseparable wrestling styles; the only difference being Nick is slightly lighter and has a slight aerial leaning to his work, which does make his technical work slightly faster paced than his brothers.

Although most naturally have Scott pegged as the breakout star of the British Hart Foundation, a lot of industry expert says that there's no reason Nick couldn't be a star in his own right in this industry, especially as he understands the business in great detail.

James Gilmour, going by the stage name of James Gilmour-Hart, is a young powerhouse who was wrestling from his early twenties, but only really got a break when he married into the Hart family at 26. Forming a brotherly bond with his two step-brothers Scott and Nick, he joined the British Hart Foundation and they became a trio of sorts, often coming as a package deal to promotions. Whilst Scott and Nick are technicians, James is a bulldozer, running through opponents with raw power, which gives whichever brother he’s teaming with an extra dimension. While he uses a powerslam as his regular finisher, in a move very traditional in Japanese wrestling has a second, super finisher, the Gorilla-Press to Pumphandle Slam. It looks so devastating with his power behind it, that it appears as if his opponent is literally in danger of going through the mat.

Currently, the Harts are all over PWI programming with Scott being the Heavyweight Champion, JGH challenging for the TV Title, and the whole trio continuing their longtime rivalry with the Van Holt Brotherhood.

-Show #7-

PWI: Integrity, Tradition, Honor

LIVE Saturday on NCTV

North Carolina Biker Museum (MA) 2,000 (Sold Out)

-We start with a quicker than usual pan around the jam packed arena before the shot settles on the broadcast location and our announce team, Dave Carrasco and January Kyle. Before they even begin to sell the show, which is easily the biggest in PWI history (#1 Contender Six Man Madness, VHB vs. Harts; Dolla vs. JGH TV Title Rematch!!) Dave Carrasco holds his cell phone up so that the camera can see it. “It is from PWSUX’s unknown representative, fans, the number is blocked but as you can see, he makes very clear who he stands with. And he says that, regardless of PWI’s court order, PWSUX will be making its presence felt here in PWI again….tonight.” (B)

- And, on the heels of that ominous announcement, we are off and running with our monster show and the opener, a six man mayhem between Shay Kinsella, Ryan Doherty, the goth Kris Phoenix, the sulking Jay Paro, Ethan Paro, and Bryce Christensen. This match is all that; if you have a bag of chips you are made. Each man knows that this is the opportunity they need to seize to get a shot at the PWI Heavyweight Championship and the take it to the very limit. There is a sequence toward the end where each man tries to outdo the rest: Phoenix pulls Shay Kinsella over the top rope to the floor with a spike DDT attempt while Ryan Doherty dives onto the group on the floor, now including Bryce Christensen, splattering them all with a twisting corkscrew press. It leaves Ethan Paro alone in the ring with his brother, Jay, who is reeling, but still cocky after destroying Ethan post-match last week. He flashes up onto the top cable and springboards himself off, connecting with a leg lariat that wobbles Jay. Seconds later he finds himself thrown into the ropes and getting caught coming off, turned upside down and left inside out with Ethan’s tilt-a-whirl over the knee backbreaker. No one is around to break up the pinfall. (B)

-Ethan waits until everyone clears out of the ring before asking for a microphone. “I knew it would happen; I didn’t think it would be this soon, but when a door opens, even just a crack, I’m going through it. Scott Hart, you’ve been a great champion and represented PWI well. But I think it’s my turn. I want my match for your title…..at ‘Night of Glory’. I’m looking forward to it, Scott; the passing of the torch.” (B-)

-In a relatively short match, former TV Champion El Estandar finally gets himself back on track with a singles win, toppling The Man of the Millennium” Tyler Mercury. Estandar rolls from the start, scoring with his whole arsenal of ranas before laying Mercury flat with a tilt-a-whirl DDT, setting him square in the middle of the logo. He sprints into the corner and runs up the buckles, coming flipping backward and hitting a picture perfect moonsault that ends the match. Cameras spot “Boston Suplex Machine” Mike O’Reilly standing just off the stage, clapping for the victor, a man he scored a tag team victory alongside last week. (C-)

-The Bollywood Knights encounter Anderson Peters as he shows his good friend and new PWI signee Chris Candell around backstage. The Bollywoods and their entourage are so rude to the veteran Peters that the two pairs nearly come to blows. A few road agents intervene and suggest the two teams meet in the ring next week. Amanh Singh nods and spits a drink into Candell’s face, infuriating the muscular newcomer. (D+)

- The match between the British Hart Foundation and Van Holt Brotherhood is everything that all of their matches are, albeit a bit more brawl based than usual due to the length and current intensity of the feud. It is even a bit more hot because of the return of Scott Hart to the ring after a two and a half week layoff following the attack by PWSUX. There are all the parts: the finishers that each team kicks out of or somehow escapes, the near falls, Jimmy South’s malicious and somehow unseen interference: everything. But, with a TV Title match as the main event and only fifteen minutes of television time for themselves, the clock quickly runs out on this one. After the match is done, however, the tension is understandably still right on the surface and the referee kind of positions himself between the two teams. The fans stand when Ethan Paro walks out onto the ramp and marches down to the ring, hopping in between the four heaving chests of the spent competitors and asking Scott, to his face, if he accepts his challenge to have their title match at “Night of Glory.” Scott Hart thinks about it for a second before reaching out and slapping Paro five and patting him on the back, nodding as he and his brother leave the ring. He looks over his shoulder the whole way, not focusing on the ring, but more the shadowy parts of the set. “He’s got to be on the lookout for PWSUX, I think. After that attack, how could anything else be on his mind.” (B-)

-Things head back to the broadcast location for a quick check of Dave Carrasco’s phone. The PWSUX contingent said that they’d “make their presence felt” at some point tonight, but as yet, they haven’t been spotted by the nearly tripled security force patrolling in and around the building. Carrasco: “I’m beginning to think they were blowing smoke. You’d have to be special forces to get in here; there’s just no way.” (B-)

-And with that, our main event is underway. Silva Dolla’s entrance takes a bit longer every time he comes to the ring and he leaves his challenger, James Gilmour-Hart, waiting during the whole red light, siren, and gunshot filled production. When they finally hook up, it is just as expected: a battle of two angry bulls. And even though he tries to cut some corners, JGH is up to the task, countering Dolla every time he tries something sneaky. Both men look for their finishers at several points during the bout, but nothing sticks….until about the seventeen minute mark when JGH strikes. Dolla seems like he may be ready to seal things up, becoming more and more methodical, stomping Gilmour-Hart a few times before lifting him up off the mat. Gilmour-Hart gives him a mighty shove into the turnbuckles and follows him in with a huge splash, saving his hide; Dolla is staggered and wobbles around turning forward into JGH who lifts him up onto his shoulder, obviously looking for his powerslam. But Dolla slides down his back at the last possible second, quickly spins him around, and drops him with a “Dolla’ Maker” (stunner), hooking his leg and getting the three count as soon as he hits the mat. It is fast, but it is official.(B-)

-As the shot pulls back from the victorious Silva Dolla holding his TV Title belt up in the air in the ring, Dave Carrasco, as per usual, starts to take the show home, hyping our mega-sized live TV event next week. “You cannot afford to miss it, fans, just the most absolutely stacked program in PWI TV history with matches like……”

BOOM!

An explosion nearby shakes the arena; some cinder dust drifts from the ceiling above and the fans that looked up at the wrong time wipe it from their eyes.

The shot goes outside where a lone cameraman runs around to the back lot, behind the building, his camera bouncing with every step. When he stops and focuses, the scene is unspeakable. Two PWI production trailers, which the company uses to move their operation from town to town, sit ablaze with the fire crackling high into the air above. Some staffers stand around, aghast …

…..watching……

….as sirens can be heard in the dark distance.

The inferno rages on.

One fire truck finally appears, as the logo pops up in the corner of the screen, its inhabitants bailing out and surrounding the burning beast.

The shot spots a section of the parking area, burning independent of the trailer fire. Upon first inspection, it looks like a few small fires in a parking space. But when the camera is tilted, changing the perspective, the message is clear. The fire spells out the letters: “PWSUX WAS HERE!” next to a smoldering pile of first run PWI t-shirts.

DC: “I know who is behind it, but I just don’t know how. I’m speechless.”

<p>Two more awesome shows, and PWSUX make another impressive impact. Will be interesting to see how you work them onto the roster.</p><p> </p><p> I really like the way you work the lower cards - the main eventers pretty much book themselves but I think you've done a fantastic job making all of the midcarders and below look like legitimate wrestlers rather than jobbers to be squashed. There's definitely the sense with these shows that talent wins over popularity (although of course in practise they are intertwined), and the way you are working character and storyline into a heavily match-focused show is superb. Chris Candell should be a strong signing too!</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Midnightnick" data-cite="Midnightnick" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="33731" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Man, Tyler Mercury is one of my favorites. Mercury leaving is a blow, but given your current booking, I don't think you'll suffer from his departure too much.

I loved the closing angle, it had a really significant feel about it and the closing visual was really effective to emphasise PWSUX violating the show. I have my suspicions about this storyline, but I'll let it unfold some more before I start second-guessing... and probably making myself look foolish. :p

-Show #8-

PWI: Integrity, Tradition, Honor

LIVE Saturday on NCTV

The Den (NE) 2,000 (Sold Out)

-This week’s show begins with a recap video showing the lowlights from last Saturday’s event when (presumably) PWSUX blew up two production trailers behind the North Carolina Biker Museum and left the signature “PWSUX WAS HERE!” burning on the pavement nearby. Being their second major attack on PWI, the company is on full alert. (B-)

-Our first match is an unexpected barnburner between the goth high flyer Kris Phoenix and Shay Kinsella, who is straight from his disappointing showing in last week’s six way number one contender match. But in this one, he is all business and at the very top of his game, showing the fairly innovative Phoenix a thing or two about ring generalship on his way to a victory. The finish comes when Phoenix thinks he has regained control of the match but walks flush into an “Urbana Native” (superkick) from Kinsella and is laid flat in the middle of the ring. (C+)

-As soon as the wrestlers clear out from the previous match, the ring announcer hops back into the ring and introduces the competitors for the next match. It would prove to be the highlight of things as the PWI tag team champions, The Bollywood Knights, and their opponents, Anderson Peters and Chris Candell, who have dubbed themselves the “No Frills Unit”, start brawling before the bell even rings and the match is thrown out. (D+)

-Vance Cole walks out onto the stage and admonishes both teams as they go to the back. He then makes a plea to the wrestlers in the locker room, looking for two tag teams, who weren’t booked tonight, to take this opportunity and wrestle on TV. ©

-In seconds, the loud, catchy rock and roll intro music for the 24/7 Express fills the arena, bringing the crowd to life. As soon as they are in the ring, El Estandar and “The Boston Suplex Machine” Mike O’Reilly walk through the curtain and head toward the squared circle to oppose them. It is not even close; Estandar and O’Reilly whitewash the young babyfaces, never even allowing them an offensive maneuver before O’Reilly tosses Zach over his shoulder with a belly-to-belly variant and Estandar hits his moonsault to close the door. (D+)

-The cameras catch Vance Cole hustling back to his office, talking a little bit too loudly on his cell phone. “Yeah, I know it was PWSUX that blew up our trailers last week. I’m doing all I can to keep them away; my lawyers are working around the clock. And when you and the rest of the members of the NWA Board of Directors come to our “Night of Glory”, I will absolutely guarantee your safety and security. You have my word. Period.” ©

-It should’ve been dubbed the co-main event; number-one contender Ethan Paro and the acrobatic, finally back to one hundred percent Ryan Doherty hook up in a match that will no doubt get the message boards chattering about workrate. Everything progresses as you might expect with Doherty and Paro staying neck in neck throughout, with Paro’s ability to still fly with Doherty worth noting. For the first time in a while the conflicted Jay Paro does not show up near the ring, trying to annoy his brother and it shows in Ethan’s focus when he is able to catch Doherty’s springboard shooting star attempt and turn it over into his tilt-a-whirl over the knee backbreaker. Even someone with Doherty’s legendary resolve cannot force his shoulders up off the mat, and he is counted out. (B-)

- A video hyping “PWI- Night of Glory on PPV” rolls, putting over the card and the type of action the fans of Pro Wrestling Integrity have come to expect. The end focuses entirely on the upcoming Scott Hart vs. Ethan Paro PWI Title match. (B-)

- After our final commercial break, the show returns with its main event pitting all three members of the British Hart Foundation against their longtime rivals, the Van Holt Brotherhood and their unlikely partner, the PWI TV Champion, Silva Dolla. The familiarity and tension between the teams is tangible from the start and things are hard-hitting throughout. The Van Holts seem to be up to the task, double teaming the questionably-healthy Scott Hart time and time again while keeping Nick and JGH on the apron. Inevitably, the rally comes, but this time, the VHB and Silva Dolla are able to weather the storm before Dolla scores with a surprise “Dolla Maker” (stunner) dropping JGH flat. With Nick and Scott still tangling with Martin and Jesse Van Holt, the three count comes quickly. The Van Holt’s can’t believe it when the bell rings, high fiving each other and hugging Jimmy South as Dolla collects his TV Title and heads back up the ramp. Dave Carrasco lends opinion to the situation. “The VHB finally have a win over the British Hart Foundation; this has got to be a huge night for them. It’s been quite a while since they’ve gotten one back from their rivals.” But January Kyle, ever helpful, adds something important. “But Silva Dolla got the pinfall; how excited should the VHB be knowing that a barely trained street thug topped the Hart’s when they couldn’t?” (B-)

TERRY THUNDER REBUFFS PWI!!!!

Easily THE legend in the wrestling business, upon announcing his return to the ring, most pundits believed that Terry Thunder would be on his way to either PWI or AWF. As of a few minutes ago, you can cross PWI off of that oh-so-short list. Citing their unwillingness to include a creative control clause in his contract as the major stumbling block, Thunder pulled out of negotiations with Pro Wrestling Integrity earlier this evening, claiming he had been in the industry long enough to call his own shots. While PWI officials could not be reached for comment, those in the know believe that the Boston based promotion is heartbroken, having already laid out plans for the future HOI member to lead the company (and the fledgling NWA as a whole) in the inevitable national battle against their rival, the AWF. While no signing with AWF has been announced, one can only speculate that it may just be a matter of time.

Finisher: Van-Holtinator (Spike Pedigree)

Martin Van Holt is the youngest of the two siblings that form The Van Holt Brothers. An awesome tag team that has played a huge part in the re-popularisation of the match type, The Van Holt Brothers have an unequaled combination of experience and chemistry when wrestling together. Together the brothers have had excellent feuds with fellow PWI teams The Paros, the British Hart Foundation and The Bollywood Knights. Their five Tag Team title reigns make them the most decorated team in PWI history.

Like his brother Jesse, Martin is a strong mat worker with good performance skills, but the younger sibling isn't afraid of a good brawl either.

Jesse Van Holt is the eldest of the two wrestling brothers. Technically sound with excellent mat skills, Jesse Van Holt was wrestling in a backyard fed at just 13 years old.

The Van Holt Brothers are the most decorated tag team in PWI history, having won the tag titles 5 times. Their 2009 feud with The Paros gave Pro Wrestling Integrity it's first 5STAR match, and the first tag match to win the accolade in more than 10 years.

Currently the brothers are in the midst of yet another knock-down, drag out feud with the British Hart Foundation, unable to top their longtime rivals in straight-up tag team competition, a fact that has the two very upset and has their manager Jimmy South concerned.

Finisher: End of Days (Late Swanton)

Jayson 'Jay' Paro is a fine cruiserweight wrestler from Toronto, most famous for his team with brother Ethan. Like his brother, Jay is young and good looking but because of his size might always be destined to be slightly in his brothers shadow. In the wake of the Paro's break-up, however, Jay has begun to show more fire in both his ring and interview work, especially working on his submission techniques in an attempt to compensate for his lighter weight.

He also possesses one of the smoothest high flying finishers in the game, the Late Swanton, which is one of the most searched wrestling moves on YouTube today.

Jay's turn on his brother in a match three months ago, and Ethan's subsequent rise up the card, has turned Jay bitter and he has become quite unpredictable of late, often showing up and lurking near or around the ring and brooding during his brother's matches rather than focusing on his own career.
