THE BIRTH

LOTHARIO-VERSE

PROF!? Prof, are you here??....................................... Guess not...

It wasn't like the Prof to be gone this long, he'd been at this crazy experiment for months now, it sure wasn't like him to leave the lab unlocked! Brian walked around the lab, poked a few things, read some notes (not that they made any sense to him). Then he realised he could hear a swirling, humming noise from the next room... the room the Prof had never let him into... and the door was open! Brian jumped a workbench and ran to the door...

Brian couldn't believe his eyes

OH MY GOD!!! He's actually done it!! He's created a machine to transport himself to an alternate dimension! Just to answer the Ultimate Question!

That Ultimate Question?

What
would
have happened if the WWWE hadn't folded in 2001?

WELCOME TO THE LOTHARIO-VERSE

As jhd1 hinted at in the ThunderVerse thread recently myself, jhd1 & sebsplex (with the blessing of schmoe) have had a couple of projects being worked at behind closed doors for a while now. And it pleases me to announce the first of those: The LotharioVerse, an alternative universe where the WWWE didn't fold in 2001.

However, despite the Marty McFly set up, we haven't gone back in time.

The year is 2012. But the landscape of wrestling in the United States, and to a lesser extent, the rest of the world, is quite different. But to reiterate what jhd1 said in the other thread, this mod still only features the US, Japan & Mexico
;)

The majority of the mod was decided on via brainstorming and the sharing/mixing of ideas between myself, jhd1 & sebsplex with jhd1 setting up the majority of the game world. Yours truly then took on the task of rebio-ing and final roster balancing, title reigns, that kind of thing
:D
(so any bios, etc that are missed, its me you'll want, not jhd1
;)
)

I'd personally like to thank:

sebsplex
for his off the wall ideas and the genius that is his 'baby' promotion of the project

schmoe
for his part in the creation of the original, his blessing and all his awesome bios that I got to base things on

TheEnforcer
who has provided me a render for a new user character at pretty short notice

and, of course,

jhd1
for not only the entire thing, but for letting me run things to completion while he works on bigger things
:D

The next post has info on promotions and alt histories but, without futher ado:

PRESENTING

THE LOTHARIO-VERSE v0.96

There are four image folders that should just be able to be dragged into the pictures folder of the Thunderverse, if it says anything about copying over the top of any files it's fine to do so.

Set the data to work off your ThunderVerse pictures folder and you should be good to go
:D

Please feel free to let me know if I've missed anything, I'll update the download as those come in, once no-one is finding any more errors I'll upgrade it to the official v1.0
;)

So, enjoy folks

..... In 2001, With ratings falling, court cases mounting and costs spiralling Turner Paige’s time with World Wide Wrestling Entertainment had come to an end. However, while everyone expected Paige to fold the WWWE (ending the promotion's fifty year legacy), lead writer Brian Jack teamed up with wealthy Las Vegas 'nightclub' owner Derrick Moore and made an offer Turner Paige just couldn't refuse in a deal that saw the billionaire retain a number of valuable stock options.

Jack and Moore's first action as owners was to cut a large amount of the more rediculous characters that graced the WWWE roster, the second was to hire a number of edgier characters and change the product to match. The most notorious cut, however, was behind the scenes. Writer Shane Allman, while having always hated the cartoonish direction of the 'Turner Era' disliked the new direction even more. An arguement between Allman & Brian Jack lead to Allman leaving the company in late 2001 and opening workrate based promotion Pro Wrestling Intergrity the following year. However, the 'Attitude Era' of wrestling was 'officially' declared underway by wrestling journallists in early 2002.

Despite hostilities then a promotional war with Allman's PWI over the years, the opening of popular hardcore promotion American STEEL in 2005 and the opening of more toned down Sports Entertainment promotion EVOLVE Pro Wrestling in 2009 that saw a number of WWWE stars jump ship, the WWWE has gone from strength to strength over the years and in 2011 toppled United Promotions Japan as the official number one promotion in the world.

It seems that Brian Jack & Derrick Moore have successfully guided the WWWE back to the top but, with the popularity of PWI, EVOLVE & AM-STEEL growing, can they stay there?

http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/7783/pwid.jpg

When Brian Jack & Derrick Moore took over the WWWE in 2001 in (then WWWE writer) Shane Allman's eyes they took something that had lost it's way and, somehow, made it worse! This lead to friction between Jack & Allman, resulting in Allman's firing in late 2001. Furious, Allman decided to show the WWWE how it's done, and opened Pro Wrestling Intergrity in 2002.

Almost the polar opposite of the new WWWE, Pro Wrestling Integrity's blend of traditional American wrestling and the values of Japanese puroresu has been a real hit with the type of fans who were put off the sport by the time of the WWWE's 'rebranding'. PWI's wrestlers are described as 'athletes' rather than 'superstars', and owner Shane Allman has gone out of his way to promote Integrity as a sport, rather than a theatre production.

Hostilities and a full blown promotional war with the WWWE have slowed PWI's rise to the top over the years, with a notable point being the WWWE tempting away then PWI Champion, popular Japanese former MMA star Hiro Suzuki, then destroying his credibility through awful booking. However, it has worked both ways and 2010 saw the signing away from the WWWE to PWI the 'Hawaiian Hardman' Peter Iaukea, who Brian Jack was considering turning back into the stereotypical joke, Kay Pasa. Iaukea has thrived in his two years in PWI and, with the nod from PWI road agent and fellow Hawaiian Richie Santana to Allman, starts 2012 as a two time PWI Champion!

PWI have come on strong in the last couple of years and the TV show they signed in 2010 is rapidly gaining popularity. Could 2012 be the year PWI finally get recognised on the National stage?

Maxwell Zimmer is a well known American real estate agent and wrestling fan who entered the wrestling world like a whirlwind, opening up EVOLVE Pro Wrestling in 2009 to great acclaim. Using his expert negotiation tactics, Zimmer managed to sign up the likes of Guy Lothario, Rudy Single & Kore to his new promotion in addition to a number of exciting new stars.

Following an accident in the ring that saw his knee shattered midcard veteran Leroy Winters was forced to retire. Offered a place as a road agent in developmental promotion the Wrestling Entertainment Power Plant Leroy began working more closely with the legendary Guy Lothario who was also in development to help train the rookies. But when Lothario and his son Eric joined the newly opened EVOLVE Wrestling in 2009 Guy put Winters name forward for the company's road agent. Winters accepted and was instrumental in the company's early shows, quickly rising to the position of head booker. Since Winters took the book, EVOLVE have pushed further than anyone expected in such a short time.

With Zimmer a self-confessed fan of the WWWE of the 1980s, many fans expected EVOLVE to lean more towards the old-school than the cutting edge sports entertainment it currently offers. With many exciting ex-WWWE workers like James Gilmore-Hart, Kore and Atonga as well as rookie sensations like Ka'ne (Dwaine Kai), V.I.P. and current EVOLVE Heavyweight Champion Eric Lothario around the main event scene, guys like Black TIGER, Evan Kuja and J.G. Nielsen gunning for Spike Daryl's X-Division title, a tag division with teams like The High-Flying Harts (Jarid & Kyle Hart) & Hot Chocolate (Ricky Fyre & Shaun Reed) in the race for the World Tag Titles held by the subversive Vendetta (Corbin Trent & Scott Cross) and add to all this the best Women's Division in the world, originally booked by the now Head Booker of women's promotion AWW, Debbie Monroe and headed up by currrent Women's champ Jess Hart, Jamilia Rose & the monstrous W.M.D and you've got one hell of a promotion! And with legends like Guy Lothario as 'President of EVOLVE' and former multitime RAWA World Champion Rudy Single on colour commentary too you just can't go wrong!

EVOLVE could well prove to be a real challenge for both top dog WWWE and workrate based #2 promotion PWI over the upcoming year.

http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/4580/steelq.jpg

American STEEL is the brainchild of legendary American hardcore wrestler Casey Skym. After his run first as WWWE Television champ under a mask as Hector Lector, then as the WWWE World Champion under his real name Skym petitioned Derrick Moore & Brian Jack to open a Hardcore Division in the WWWE. But he was told 'No way, no how!' by Brian Jack. Skym then found himself rapidly jobbing down the card, so he chose not to re-sign his contract and decided to head back to Japan in 2004. Skym rejoined LETHAL and won both the Chalice of Blood Title & the World's Most Extreme Tournament in that year. After a night of poker and chat with LETHAL owner BOSS Nagata, Dr Texas & 13TEEN a decision was made.

Skym returned to the US in 2005 and in April opened the first major hardcore promotion in US history, American STEEL. The sister company to LETHAL Steel in Japan, AM-STEEL has seen many great hardcore wrestlers from both sides of the Pacific (Dr Texas, Abdullah Hachirobei & Skym himself to name but a few) do battle in it's ring over the years whilst slowly building up it's own stars.

With the feud between long time tag partners Revolver Binks and Omri Stone having been the talk of the internet wrestling community in 2011 as well as having hardcore legend in-the-making Ram Diablo and the brutal former World Hardcore Champion Ares on the roster, 2012 looks set to be a fantastic year for Skym's baby.

Championship Wrestling from Tennessee was opened by Austin McCall in 1974 and at the time looked set to be a minor promotion for its entire lifespan. In fact, it seemed set to be nothing more than a Mid-South sideshow right up until the late 1990s when the problems of the WWWE became apparent. When the WWWE was taken over in 2001 CWT began attracting old-school fans that were turned off by the WWWE's new 'Car-Crash TV' direction and wanted something akin to the traditional sport they had grown up with.

In 2002 Championship Wrestling from Tennessee was taken over by Roscoe Carmine, better known at the time as the recently axed from the WWWE, heavily gimmicked character The Texas Ranger. With Carmine and good friend Bill Hickock at the helm CWT has risen from its small level to become a regional powerhouse and has seen many of the more old-school style former WWWE & RAWA workers grace its ring over the years.

It's working agreement signed in 2009 with J.D. Briscoe & Robert Lee Stevens' Bluegrass Championship Wrestling has served both promotions well and ensured that good ole southern wrasslin' is still alive and well but can CWT push through to the next level and become a true US contender?

http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/2025/awwhw.jpg

Founded by former WWWE talent Mo Pryde in 2004, American Women's Wrestling is the premier female wrestling promotion in North America. Ignoring the T & A leanings of the last successful women's promotion, GLAM, AWW focuses on the athletic prowess of its competitors, and not their looks. It is said that Brian Jack was a huge fan of Mo, and set about bringing hin back to the WWWE in 2005 when Derrick Moore decided to take some time off from being an on screen authority figure. Mo, however, had already formed American Women's Wrestling and wanted to remain focused on his own promotion.

Based in Chicago, AWW has seen some of the world's best female athletes pass through its door, including several former WWWE Ladies Champions. Many say that the current roster is the strongest in the company's short seven year history and with a working agreement with EVOLVE Pro Wrestling's Women's Division, brokered by former EVOLVE Women's Division road agent now AWW Head Booker Debbie Monroe, signed in 2011 the world of women's wrestling in the United States has never looked stronger!

http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/9256/bcwi.jpg

Bluegrass Championship Wrestling is a "good ole wrasslin" promotion based in Louisiana owned by J.D. Briscoe and Robert Lee Stevens. With a product that is steeped in the traditions of Southern wrestling promotions such as Championship Wrestling from Tennessee and the Mississippi Boxing And Wrestling Commission of the 1960s, BCW is unashamedly traditional, fiercely patriotic and, more often than not, an awful lot of fun.

J.D. Briscoe had always dreamed of running a professional wrestling promotion and saw his chance when CWT went up for sale in 2002. However Briscoe was pipped to the post by former WWWE wrestler Roscoe Carmine. Briscoe settled down into his retirement and forgot about his dreams until a chance meeting with former WWWE & CWT great Robert Lee Stevens in 2007 lead to a strong friendship. The pair discussed wrestling at great length and Briscoe finally told Stevens of his dream of running a promotion. Stevens admitted the thought had crossed his own mind a few times and the pair decided to give it a go.

Setting up in Louisiana so as not to step on CWT's toes the small promotion has seen some success in it's short history, mainly due to it's working agreement and talent sharing deal with larger Mid-South promotion CWT which has seen veteran babyface Smokin' Stevie Gunn become the biggest thing in the small South Eastern promotion. One thing that does set Bluegrass Championship Wrestling apart from its rivals is that it uses a live band to perform entrance music. That band is, of course, an electrified bluegrass quintet.

With both owners being independently wealthy they only take token wages from the promotion, preferring instead to plow the money back into the business but will this be enough to ensure continued growth as things go forward?

http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/413/powp.jpg

Chicago-based Paragons of Wrestling, or POW, is a young promotion that divides wrestling fans' opinions almost as much as El Hot Dog. Either a breath of fresh air, or a mockery of the sport, depending on which side of the fence you are sat on, Referee Tiny Jackson's Paragons of Wrestling is a comedy lucha libre promotion is like the wrestling world turned into a comic book - in fact POW's wrestler are not babyfaces and heels, they are heroes and villains!

Originally Jackson asked Debbie Monroe to come in as head booker, but instead she chose to take book in women's promotion AWW. When Shinji Onoo's application to become POW's first head booker turned up on owner Tiny Jackson's desk he almost dismissed it out of hand. But after seeing the other candidates Jackson got to thinking... After all, POW's product is almost like a Japanese cartoon come to life, why not hire a man who knows that kind of culture? While Jackson's opinion may have been a little stereotypical the hiring was certainly a good one, and although it is easy to dismiss POW as no more than a joke, their shows typically feature very strong matches and after only a year in business they are already making a splash in the Chicago area.

http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/4286/ecxw.jpg

East Coast Xtreme Wrestling is a small hardcore wrestling promotion based in Miami, Florida. Combining the hardcore attitude of American STEEL with the brutality of LETHAL Steel and a much darker atmosphere, ECXW is definitely the edgiest promotion currently active in the United States.

Founded by Cindy Austin and two time AM-STEEL American Hardcore Champion Stevie Vortex (the latter being the lesser partner and more brought in by Austin to actually make it work) in 2010 ECXW boast a number of former American STEEL wrestlers, as well as the latest hardcore upstarts, and provide the 'crazy deathmatch every show' appeal of LETHAL Steel to the US market. While AM-STEEL offers a hardcore alternative in Philadelphia, ECXW's cult ambitions run much deeper and their rebellious advertising campaigns, ring angles and storylines have seen them get into trouble with the local authorities on a number of occasions in their first few months. Some of the company's most memorable occasion include co-founder Cindy Austin flashing during a news bulletin, and heavyweight wrestler X bodyslamming a baseball player during a playoff game. Austin even declared 'war' on Louisiana based 'southern wrasslin' promotion Bluegrass Championship Wrestling in November 2011, declaring that they were '...just too dull, a dinosaur in a modern age and they need to be wiped off the face of the Earth!' And she did this during the Half-Time Show of a New Orleans Steamers vs Florida Gators basketball match, in New Orleans! The riot that followed has gone down in NABA history as the only one ever that didn't kick off at the
end
of a game!

However, partly due to the good business friendship between Stevie Vortex and Casey Skym & partly due to the fact that Cindy Austin make Skym laugh, ECXW signed a talent sharing deal with American STEEL in December 2011 which can only mean good things heading into 2012.

http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/835/lwak.jpg

The Legacy Wrestling Alliance is the brainchild of Álvaro Buey Jr, son of the great Álvaro Buey Sr. The LWA was formed in 1999, just months after Senior passed away. Offering a Caribbean twist to their otherwise traditional product, the LWA features wrestlers from across North America such as PWI's Tyler Mercury & the 24/7 Express & EVOLVE's Black TIGER (wrestling as Super TIGER) and as well their veteran Puerto Rican talent of Senior's other son La Buey & local legend Cordero Calderon they promote the cream of local talent such as LWA Puerto Rican Regional Champion Joey Perez, Calderon's protege Daniel Azaria and Puerto Rican turncoat Alex Vidal.

Although quite popular in their home territory of Puerto Rico, the LWA have so far struggled to extend their influence further but with the recent signings of both Mercury & TIGER they hope to turn things around in the coming months.

http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/8158/gwsc.jpg

Over the past three or four years the Guerrilla Wrestling Syndicate has become one of the internet wrestling community's most loved promotions. The promotion's online videos are viewed hundreds of times by loyal fans across the country, and feature an exciting blend of styles and young talent. This explosive combination looks good in short highlight reels, but anyone seeing the shows in the flesh knows that the Reno, NV based company needs to put in a lot of work if it is to eventually challenge the big leagues.

In fact, in many ways the internet popularity that GWS has gained has hurt the company's progression as their live shows tend to draw fairly low crowd numbers, making it difficult for them to branch out of their home region.

http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/3869/swapa.jpg

The Seattle Wrestling Alliance was founded in 1998 by veteran mat wrestler Les Gotch. More famous in the United Kingdom than his own hometown, Gotch returned to America in the mid '80s to work as a road agent. By the '90s however, Gotch was almost entirely focused on training up young, rookie talent, and opened up the SWA as a way to give the new generation of professional wrestling some experience. Over the year's many wrestlers who started their careers in the SWA have gone on to great things, most notably former SWA Seattle Champion, now former two time WWWE World Heavyweight Champion Timothy Hawk.

Over the past four years many great SWA wrestlers like Bryce Christensen, Jonah Huntley & Rico Escobar have been lured away by the WWWE developmental system but this just leads ever more hopefulls to Les Gotch's door. Largely traditional in style, the SWA is known for its eclectic mix of talent, with rookies from far and wide, not only hoping to learn from Gotch but also to maybe catch the eye of the WWWE scouts that seem to be at every show.

http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/6777/wepp.jpg

The Wrestling Entertainment Power Plant is the development company of the WWWE and shares a purpose built venue with the WWWE Power Plant Gym in Portland, Maine. Opened in 2004 it has had several 'owners' in the past, the legendary Guy Lothario between 2004 & 2008 and WWWE veteran Drake Richards between 2008 & 2010. However up until 2010 the WWWE picked up very few of the developmental workers to main roster contracts.

But this has begun to change under the leadership of WWWE legendary veteran Danial Hart and WEPP has many exciting young workers such as Johnny Hollywood, Lil' Swag and Mike Suzuki that are due to make their WWWE debuts very soon. Of course, this will mean that spaces on the roster will need filling up and Hart has expressed an interest in bringing in some talented veterans from outside to help train up the youngsters.

http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/3408/qpro.jpg

The 'Future of Wrestling'.

Or at least, the future perceived by it's creator Ezekiel Trillion. Renowned for special-effect-laden events that play out like feature-length sci-fi episodes, Q-PRO chronicles the never-ending battle between the omnipotent TrillTech corporation and an ever-changing band of rebels known as 'The Resistance' who represent humanities last line of defence against TrillTech's nefarious schemes. Those who haven't declared their allegiances find themselves caught in the eternal struggle between good and hi-tech evil, often crossing the moral divide depending on which side best suits their agenda (or their bank balance).

Although the promotion's in-ring product is little to write home about (their efforts are vigorously derided amongst traditional circles), Q-PRO's extravagant productions and oh-so-over-the-top storylines have won them a loyal (and equally eccentric audience). No matter how goofy or silly their product appears to outsiders (or 'outlanders' as Q-Fans dismissively refer to them), suspension of belief is advised as Trillion unapologetically portrays the action as legitimate, straight-up entertainment.

Whilst Q-PRO may never be the future of wrestling, the company have certainly carved a niche for themselves in the present.

MEXICO

http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/2647/cllm.jpg

Campeonato de la Lucha Libre de Mexico is the oldest remaining wrestling promotion in the world, having been founded by Humberto Gallardo in 1934. CLLM still holds on to the traditions set out by its founder, and the current owner is Humberto's grandson Javier.

Recently CLLM's dominance on lucha libre has come under attack from first ILL, then DRAGON Pro Wrestling. Imperio's sports entertainment twist on lucha libre has proved popular with youngsters and DRAGON & Astronauta's take on a blend of puroresu & lucha has proved a hit with those looking for a more competitive product, two audiences that CLLM has always struggled to attract.

With the battle lines drawn, it will be up to Javier Gallardo to keep his grandfather's dreams alive.

http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/2720/illb.jpg

Imperio de la Lucha Libre, or ILL for short, is the second biggest promotion in Mexico and is fast becoming a real rival to the much older Campeonato de la Lucha Libre de Mexico. In an effort to stand out from CLLM, Imperio's product is slanted towards the sports entertainment mantra that has been so successful across the border but the last few years have seen ILL's progress slow due to the arrival of DRAGON Pro Wrestling in 2009. Although the two promotions share a few workers there is no kind of agreements in place and an arguement following a chance meeting between DRAGON Mitchinoku and Alfredo Cruz has caused tension between the two.

However, full of bold colours, gimmick matches, and crazy characters, there is always fun to be had at an ILL show.

http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/2765/dragonaa.jpg

DRAGON Pro Wrestling is a LuchaResu promotion founded by legendary super junior DRAGON Michinoku. Michinoku shocked the world when he walked out of UPJ in 2009, and proceeded to turn it upside down by opening his own promotion in Mexico. DRAGON hired retired luchador Astronauta to the head bookers position and with DRAGON Mitchinoku's knowledge of the Japanese Junior style and Astronaua's Lucha Libre credentials the pair have made a fantastic team in leading DRAGON to become a main player on the Mexican scene.

Mixing the best parts of lucha libre, puroresu and daredevil high-flying, DRAGON has quickly caught on as a promotion that offers everything that their rivals don't, all in one show. Whether this is enough to take DRAGON to the top remains to be seen, but they certainly have the talent on board from both sides of the Pacific to make a real go of it.

http://imageshack.us/a/img839/249/gdrd.jpg

Guerreras Del Ring is the first all-female wrestling promotion in Mexico since the late 1980s. Founded in 2005 by the great Dos Yeguas, GDR arrived just in time to be swept along with the huge lucha libre popularity boom. Establishing itself quickly as a legitimate promotion for women's wrestlers, GDR shared talent with the likes of All Japan Joshi and American Women's Wrestling to put on some fantastic shows.

The company's growing audience may have surprised the old-school male wrestlers, but with exciting young talent debuting every month the future looks bright for GDR and female lucha libre.

http://imageshack.us/a/img4/1637/eepi.jpg

Explosivos y Extrema Promociones is a new promotion aiming to combine American hardcore wrestling with Mexican lucha libre. Much maligned by the traditionalists of Mexico - of which there are many - EEP is so divisive that it has the potential to flop completely or to really make a success of itself.

While many luchadors have participated in hardcore matches before - particularly those in ILL - there are few who would call it their strength, and EEP's biggest challenge might not be its critics, but the finding a roster suited to its product.

JAPAN

http://imageshack.us/a/img846/8047/upj.jpg

United Promotions Japan is arguably the biggest promotion in the world. UPJ was formed in 1951 as a conglomeration of the smaller regional federations across the country when the sport was forced to follow a number of strict regulations. The enduring success of the promotion is largely attributed to Japanese everyman Ozeki - a superb worker who popularised wrestling across the Orient during the mid-to-late 1950s.

The current owners of UPJ - the Matsumoto brothers - are both nephews of the great Ozeki, and have been blamed for bringing UPJ to its lowest point in decades. The brothers' focus on heavyweight wrestling was blamed on the DIASPORA exodus, while several of its main stars are little more than monsters with no real wrestling ability. However following the exodus the brothers brought in various heavyweights and non-Junior style middleweights to fill the gaps in the roster, including gajin's The Mad Russians, Gorkie Cheflov & Evgeny Dobrenko who are currently tearing up the tag ranks.

http://imageshack.us/a/img145/4952/diasporav.jpg

Pro Wrestling DIASPORA was founded in 2010 by a group of breakaway UPJ Junior stars who had grown increasingly frustrated with the way the Matsumoto brothers treated the division. Inspired by DRAGON Michinoku's departure in 2009, and led by Prime Dragon, Zodiac, Hiroto Nori and Sairento, DIASPORA has become a haven for junior wrestling in Japan.

Featuring a number of wrestlers from UPJ, DIASPORA has also attempted to recruited new talent from across Japan & the US and alongside the world's strongest junior division, the company has a pretty decent heavyweight division too. While the company understandably gives precedence to the junior division, heavyweights get their fair share of screen time and both divisions headline events.

Booking the Junior and Heavyweight divisions on an equal footing may not be easy, but so far DIASPORA have made a great start.

http://imageshack.us/a/img16/3204/lethalc.jpg

LETHAL Steel Japanese Wrestling is most famous for its highly dangerous deathmatch contests. The most brutal and, in many people's eyes, most offensive promotion in existence, LETHAL Steel is still going strong after nearly 25 years as the world's premiere hardcore promotion. Starting life as traditional puro fed Tokyo Steel in 1979, it was BOSS Nagata's purchase of the company in 1989 that saw the most drastic change in Japanese wrestling history.

Many of LETHAL Steel's stars come from its own dojo the Dungeon of Steel - little surprise given the enormous risk that comes with wrestling on their shows. However, LETHAL's annual two-day DEATHMATCH Invitational is often frequented by hardcore wrestlers from across the globe hoping to gain the title of "World's Most Extreme Wrestler".

LETHAL Steel is the sister company to Casey Skym's American STEEL in the US and many LETHAL stars have worked across the Pacific over the years, as well as quite a few young American wrestlers from AM-STEEL getting their Japanese debuts in the dangerous environment of LETHAL.

http://imageshack.us/a/img21/5724/ajjm.jpg

When the Japanese Joshi Alliance closed in 1989 many thought that joshi wrestling had come to its end. Japan's first true female wrestling promotion had managed to fend off many challengers since its creation in 1976, but by 1989 failing attendances, poor shows and nonexistent sponsorship had brought the once glorious promotion crashing to its knees. Fortunately for JJA fans, out of the ashes rose All Japan Joshi, a promotion that promised to keep the memories of the Alliance alive and, twelve years later, it has managed to keep its promise.

With a product almost identical to JJA, All Japan emphasises its competitors place as true Japanese sporting heroes. During the late 1990s AJJ was pushing even UPJ for ratings when the "Golden Four" of Arihyoshi, Nawabe, Oichi and Nishimuraya put on some of Japan's finest ever matches.

http://imageshack.us/a/img846/6193/splashn.jpg

SPLASH! is one of the most innovative promotions in a typically traditional Japanese wrestling scene. While DIASPORA and LETHAL caused waves with their unique products, the core values of Japanese puroresu remain in both. SPLASH!, however, takes its ideas from American sports entertainment promotions the WWWE & EVOLVE and combines it with the weirdest and wackiest moments of Japanese comedy. The result is a gimmick-heavy product mainly populated with heavyweights which is guaranteed to leave most viewers scratching their heads in bemusement. SPLASH! are also the only Japanese promotion to run a year-long schedule, rather than tour periodically.

Whether SPLASH! will ever make a name for themselves is uncertain, but given that owner Bairei Imaizumi has managed to bag guys like Giant Kodama, Seiken Nagano, BORYOKU & Ebi Kadivar for his opening roster he's at least off to a good start!

Also, loving the artwork MJ. I miss your Comic Book Hero stuff.

Thank you very much sir :D I miss it too if I'm honest, I had another volume of Jimmy & Robyn apart, then at least another volume of them reunited in 'Mr & Mrs Hood' where Jimmy discovered why his parents were killed and why he had such a silly name.... ah well :)

Gaaahhhh, of topicking my own topic... move along, nothing to see here :o

Great stuff! I am excited for this. TEW13 is going to have some amazing mods.

Actually, this particular mod is planned for a TEW2010 release. Hopefully it'll be easily converted to 2013 though, and I'm sure there will be ThunderVerse related happenings for the new game at some point too :)

Oh well that works for me too. Either way I can always try to convert it over for my own use if this doesn't get made for 2013.

Yeah, as jhd1 said, I'm hoping to get this out before 2013 drops as a little present to all those who can't afford to buy it straight away (like me) but rest assured, once I upgrade I'll convert the mod over ;) (that's assuming jhd1 or sebs don't do it before me of course)
