I would be amused if Morgan's frustrations meant that he just holds the main belt for forever.

While I expect him to have a fairly long reign to begin with, being as his popularity in the region is 2 ranks above anyone else's on the roster ( currently he's D-, next highest is E) and part of the backstory of the diary is him trying to establish his legacy, and prove that he is able to be the main player of a company this size, he will eventually drop the title. Probably at least a couple times or more. If one of the others that I am trying to build, such as an Ernest Youngman, gets close to his popularity, then I have no issue moving the title. Or when I get to regional, and need to bring in some better people to be able to maintain the show quality, then there will probably be good candidates to hold the title as well.

But, at least from my perspective, it will be interesting how long I can legitimately keep him at main event level. Can Morgan grow to be a believable headliner for a cult or higher level company? While his star quality is fairly low, that doesn't necessarily mean he couldn't grow enough in popularity. And,even though he is 38, he doesn't show on time decline yet, so I should have a few good years before his skills begin degrading.

TPW NEW DESTINY

Saturday Week 2 August 2013

Held at Windsor Arena Hall Att: 300 (SOLD OUT)

Quentin Queen VS Outlaw Wes Revell

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Quentin Queen defeated Outlaw Wes Revell in 7:43 by pinfall with a Q-Ball.

Match Rating E-

Ben Williams VS Buzz Reid VS Joffy Laine

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Ben Williams defeated Buzz Reid and Joffy Laine in 7:37 when Ben Williams defeated Joffy Laine by pinfall.

Match Rating E

For those with a sense of deja vu, yes we did run this exact match the month before. Although it wasn't planned. These three were just left over after I had planned the other matches...again. Although a couple things were different this time. Ben Williams won, and Laine wasn't on his game tonight. The latter was no surprise since PWC had let him go earlier in the week ( along with a few others) in order to cut costs, as apparently Steve Flash's company was hemmoraging money. But it still had to be a bitter pill for Laine to swallow by getting released after only a few months.

Cal Sanders & Ford Gumble VS Mountie Mann & Irwin Mann w\ Roxy Kitten

In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Cal Sanders and Ford Gumble defeated Mountie Mann and Irwin Gutmann in 12:30 when Cal Sanders defeated Mountie Mann by pinfall with a Frog Splash.

Match Rating D

Although this was basically a training match ( and me getting a little more value out of Gumble) surprisingly Sanders and Gumble meshed well as a team. It was definitely something to keep in mind for down the road. Of course, I overlooked the fact that Mann and Gutmann weren't a team that worked well together, which I should have remembered from last month.

Cal Sanders & Josh Jones w\ Chloe Dean VS Good Ol Boys

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Cal Sanders and Josh Jones defeated Good Ole Boys in 11:54 when Cal Sanders defeated Wooton Fitzpaine by pinfall with a Frog Splash.

Match Rating E+

Sanders may have teamed well with Gumble, but he had absolutely no teamwork with Jones. Combined with Langton being off tonight, this was only an average opening match.

Bradley Blaze & The American Cobras w\ Dharma Gregg vs The Atlantic Connection w\ Streetz & Irwin Gutmann w\ Roxy Kitten

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Irwin Gutmann and The Atlantic Connection defeated Bradley Blaze and American Cobras in 8:05 when Irwin Gutmann defeated Marvel Malloy by submission with a Tiger Sleeper.

Match Rating D-

Gutmann seems to have gotten the message as makes two months in a row things have been quiet in the locker room around him. Thus, I feel better about getting behind him some more, and he gets a good win here in a decent six man match.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/RayneMan_zps3260c75a.jpg VS http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/MountieMann_zps16a38f5d.jpg

Rayne Man VS Mountie Mann

In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Rayne Man defeated Mountie Mann in 12:16 by pinfall with a Rayne Drop.

Match Rating D-

Rayne gets a solid win over one of our upper level heels as he begins to get positioned for a run at the title.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/RayneMan_zps3260c75a.jpg

After the match is over, Rayne Man grabs a microphone

Rayne: " You know, I have been here almost six months, and every single month I hear our Trademark Champion, Thomas Morgan, claim how he is better than anyone else. But, you see Morgan, there is something wrong with your statement. I've been in the ring with the biggest names in this industry. I have been in the big time, and I have faced some of the best! And Morgan, I guarantee you aren't on their level! Because the other thing wrong with your boast Morgan, is that you have never beaten me! Morgan, you will have to face me in this ring, for that Trademark title, and I promise you, when I get that opportunity, you will not be leaving as the champion!"

Rating E+

Ok promo, but served its purpose in laying the groundwork for the storyline of Rayne to challenge Morgan.

Ernest Youngman w\ Dharma Gregg VS Bob Casey

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Ernest Youngman defeated Bob Casey in 12:11 by pinfall.

Match Rating C-

Best match of the night so far. Youngman really doesn't need help showing how good he is, but Casey and his ability to sell, make Youngman look even more effective than usual.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/FordGumble-1_zps5f301b05.jpg w\ http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ChloeDean_zpsd67be895.jpg

Ford Gumble, accompanied by Chloe Dean, comes down to the ring.

Gumble: "With all do respect to what Rayne said earlier, his comments had a grievious error. You see, while he may challenge for the championship in the near future, that champion won't be Thomas Morgan! It will be me, the roughy and ready Ford Gumble! I will take Morgan's title tonight, cementing my place in TPW with a guaranteed contract and show that Morgan is not better than me!"

Rating D-

Decent promo from Gumble, with Dean helping him. The words, coming from Gumble rather than Dean this month, had more impact with the fans.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ThomasMorgan_alt1.jpg

'Trademark' Thomas Morgan comes out and interrupts Gumble.

Morgan: "Ford,Chloe, how nice to see you again. But really, I have to ask what makes you think you can get the job done this time when you couldn't last month? Don't bother answering. We both know it's nothing! You see this belt around my waist? It's there for one simple reason. I...am...better...than...you! No amount of rhetoric, boisterousness, or bravado is going to change that one little fact. So tonight, you will get you last shot at my title, and then tomorrow, I will still be champion, and you will be back to being some has been wrestling in a warehouse in front of a handful of people and living off your faded glory. So get ready to ride off into the sunset cowboy, because I am going to beat you in that ring, right now!"

Rating D

Decent promo if I do say so myself.

Ford Gumble w\ Chloe Dean VS 'Trademark' Thomas Morgan © for the TPW Trademark Championship

In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Thomas Morgan defeated Ford Gumble in 19:43 by submission with a STF. Thomas Morgan makes defence number 7 of his Trademark Championship title.

Match Rating D

A better match than last month, and a strong finish to the event. While Gumble isn't a good fit as a permanent member of our roster now due to how much he demands in appearance fees, and not being someone I think we could build around to deserve to be the highest paid person on the roster, I can definitely see him having a future with us if and when we are a little bigger. He is still a credible challenger, and his connection with Sanders could be something to build a tag division around when we can afford to have enough people ( and draw enough interest from the fans) to make that something to invest in.

OVERALL SHOW D

One of our better shows, and the buzz the next day from the forums and trade sites was all positive, indicating we are still growing our audience. And while I won't know the final tally till the end of the month, the expenses didn't look so bad that running a second show this month was going to hurt us. Plus, my recent joining of the COTT alliance was about to have its first benefit for us at the next show.

In news just released, 4C's 'White Angel" and former 4C champion Frankie Dee has responded to the claims of 'Trademark' Thomas Morgan that he is better than all the other wrestlers in the Ontario area.

Dee: " I, like many of my fellow wrestlers in 4C, have watched the recent emergence of TPW with some interest. While they aren't a threat to our company, its good to see that wrestling is growing and thriving here in Ontario Canada. But what I haven't liked is the constant boasting of their champion, 'Trademark' Thomas Morgan, and his claims that he is better than us as a wrestler. Speaking as a former champion, I take offense to that, as Morgan has never even faced me, much less beaten me, so how he can claim with a straight face that he is better than me is something I cannot understand. But, with the blessings of 4C owner Troy Winner, I am going to take action and prove that Morgan's claim is loud mouth boasting that he can't back up in the ring. Mr Winner has contacted the TPW Board of Directors, and together, they have agreed to allow me to appear on the next TPW show at the end of August, and challenge the TPW Champion Morgan. And since Morgan stylizes himself as a submissions wrestler, being a submission hold master myself, the battle will be a Submission Match for the Trademark Championship! Morgan, you are not better than me! Hell, you aren't any better than most of the guys in my company and I am going to prove it in your own ring! See you soon, Morgan!"

There you have it in the 'White Angel' Frankie Dee's own words. The 4C star and former champion will go one on one for the TPW title against 'Trademark' Thomas Morgan at the TPW Against All Odds event in two weeks at the end of August and it will be in Dee's specialty, a submission match!

Training match for those who didn't have a spot on the main show tonight.

Frankie Dee & Rayne Man VS Good Ol Boys

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Frankie Dee and Rayne Man defeated Good Ole Boys in 12:11 when Frankie Dee defeated Thimbleby Langton by pinfall with a Shinanju Kick.

Match Rating D-

Getting some value out of Dee by having him in two matches. One warming up the crowd before the show, and then the main event later. Rayne is also here to get some rub as he strengthens his claim for a run at the title. Unfortunately, these two really didn't work well as a team, and that marred an otherwise decent match.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/Streetz_zps87276eff.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/CurtisJenkins_zps2a5eb244.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/RileyMcManus_zpsc9951795.jpg

Streetz and his team the Atlantic Connection are backstage in a taped promo being played on the big screen in the Windsor Arena Hall.

Streetz: What you see here is a tag team that will become huge stars in this business. Before they are done, they will be bigger than The Lords of War, bigger than the Demons, bigger even that the New Wave! TPW is only the beginning for The Atlantic Connection! So, any of you so called tag teams want to test your mettle against us, we challenge you right now to come and face us!

Jenkins: Anytime!

McManus: Anywhere!

Rating E

Not the strongest of promos, but given that The Atlantic Connection had been the most consistent of my tag teams so far, and I did have plans to implement a tag division once I could support a bigger roster down the road, I had them do a promo here. Plus the open challenge bit, given that I could trade workers with several other regional promotions now, would give me a reason to bring in some other tag teams on an interim basis for my teams to go against and get more experience ( and keep things fresh for the crowds).

Ernest Youngman & Josh Jones w\ Dharma Gregg and Chloe Dean VS The Atlantic Connection w\ Streetz

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Ernest Youngman and Josh Jones defeated The Atlantic Connection in 12:14 when Ernest Youngman defeated Riley McManus by pinfall.

Match Rating C-

Really good opening match, easily among the top ten in our companies' history so far. Even though they lost, The Atlantic Connection hold their own in the ring, while Youngman continues to show he has future megastar written all over him.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/DharmaGregg_zps3f559269.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/RoxyKitten_zps79a35617.jpg

As Dharma is in the ring with her team celebrating their win, Roxy Kitten comes running out of the back, slides into the ring, and rips off Dharma's skirt, leaving Dharma in the ring in her shirt and panties! Roxy quickly rolls out of the ring and heads to the back, waving the skirt over her head in triumph as Dharma covers up and Youngman wraps his ring robe around her.

Rating E+

Showing that even though Youngman-Gutmann's feud is currently over, the feud between Dharma and Roxy is still very much alive. And of course, exploiting some fan service to pop the male crowd a little.

American Cobras w\ Dharma Gregg VS Mountie Mann & Bob Casey

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Bob Casey and Mountie Mann defeated American Cobras in 7:52 when Mountie Mann defeated Marvel Malloy by submission with a Canadian Sleeper Hold.

Match Rating D-

Casey and Mann, who are better known due to their years on the Canadian Independent circuit, pick up the win over what is currently our resident jobber tag team.

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Cal Sanders and Quentin Queen defeated Good Ole Boys in 7:59 when Cal Sanders defeated Wooton Fitzpaine by pinfall with a Frog Splash.

Match Rating D

Decent match showing the Good Ol Boys can be carried by good competition.

Rayne Man is in the ring before his match and grabs a microphone

Rating E+

Decent promo as the build for Rayne's run at the title is continued.

Rayne Man VS Irwin Gutmann w\ Roxy Kitten

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Rayne Man defeated Irwin Gutmann in 11:40 by pinfall with a Rayne Drop.

Match Rating D-

Rayne gets another strong win over a tough Gutmann, although his being off tonight made the match not as good as it could be.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ChloeDean_zpsd67be895.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/FrankieDee_zps357cf2f2.jpg

Chloe Dean, accompanied by 4C's Frankie Dee, comes down to the ring

Dean: Morgan! At my side is the man who is going to bring your reign as Trademark Champion to an end, the 'White Angel' Frankie Dee! Even though it means losing our championship to a rival promotion when Dee takes the belt back to 4C, as long as you are no longer the champion, you won't be able to abuse your power as owner of TPW to keep yourself on top. In fact, the Board of Directors have formed an agreement with the owner of 4C that when Dee wins the title, anyone from TPW but you will be allowed to challenge him for it.

Dee: Morgan, enjoy your last few moments with the belt before I take that title away from you and prove you are no better than everyone else I have beaten in my career!

Rating E

Dee isn't the world's greatest speaker, but I should have learned the lesson last time about letting Dean lead the promo, as the crowd doesn't pop for her like they would for the wrestlers she is with.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ThomasMorgan_alt1.jpg

'Trademark' Thomas Morgan comes out from the entrance ramp and responds.

Morgan: Chloe, Chloe, Chloe. I really don't know where this venomous nature of yours towards me stems from. I mean, just because I wouldn't go out with you since you are below my standards, is no reason for this sensless vendetta you seem to have against me. Or could it be that, since I am the one that signs your paychecks, you just can't stand that I am the one with the 'power' in our 'relationship'. But whatever, it really doesn't matter. Just like it doesn't matter than you went outside TPW and managed to somehow wrangle Frankie Dee here to fight your battle for you. Dee, as someone who has held a major championship, like I currently do, I do have some grudging respect for your accomplishments. But since I know its people like you, who were afraid of how I would upstage them, that kept me from competing in companies like 4C all these years, that small amount of respect is overshadowed by the immense personal satisfaction I will get by beating you inside that ring tonight, and rubbing your face in the basic fact that I..AM...BETTER...THAN...YOU!

Rating D

Another solid promo to hype up the main event coming next.

Frankie Dee w\ Chloe Dean VS 'Trademark' Thomas Morgan in a Submission match for the TPW Trademark Championship

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Thomas Morgan defeated Frankie Dee in a Submission match in 19:38 by submission with a STF. Thomas Morgan makes defence number 8 of his Trademark Championship title.

Match Rating C

An excellent main event, probably the best match that we have had in TPW to this point. I was able to get Dee from 4C for the night by trading the services of Cal Sanders and Josh Jones for one of 4C's shows. While they will probably lose, like Dee did here, the extra work and exposure will make up for it. Personally, I feel vindicated with the quality of the match as well. One of my goals in starting TPW was to prove, not only to myself, but others in the industry, that I can be successful main eventing a promotion, in short, being the man. But until this point, my reputation was based mainly on my success in the independents. Now, having fought a quality match of this level against someone who was champion of a regional level company, I take a step closer to proving that I am as good as I always believed I was.

OVERALL SHOW D+

An excellent show, one of our best this year, with probably the best match in TPW so far to finish it off. There was even more positive buzz on the wrestling forums than usual after this show, and all indicators is that the Trademark title is growing in prestige as well.

The TPW event Against All Odds has made the wrestling industry stand up and take notice that TPW is for real and that the Trademark Champion Thomas Morgan is more than just boast and bravado following his victory over former 4C Champion Frankie Dee. That notice comes in the form of two champions making separate challenges to two of the stars of the TPW roster.

First, current 4C Champion Antonio Del Vecchio desires to test his mettle against someone who competed at the highest level and has challenged former SWF star and current top TPW contender Rayne Man to a match.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/AkimaBrave_zpsc96ea7c4.jpg

And, apparently 'Trademark' Thomas Morgan's claims of being better than other wrestlers has aroused the competitive ire of another regional champion, NYCW Empire Champion Malili Umaga! Umaga also competed in the SWF as Akima Brave, and is a former two time tag champion for them. Without doubt, this is the toughest challenge the egotistical TPW champion has faced to date. Can Umaga make Morgan eat his words, or will the Trademark Champion prove he is better once again? Find out in two weeks at TPW Survival of the Fittest!

Thursday Week 2 September 2013

I was in my apartment going over the news around the industry when I saw the announcement that Crippler Ray Kingman had passed away today at age 66. He had been one of my idols growing up, along with Dan Stone and George DeColt. His son Barry is about my age, and I had crossed paths with him occasionally on the independent circuit. This was before he found work at 4C for a few years and then headed out to Japan. Back in the late 90's he used to share stories his dad had told him from back when the territories still dominated the wrestling landscape. Wrestling, especially Canadian Wrestling, lost an icon today.

Speaking of Japan, industry news was all abuzz about a power shift behind the scenes at one of the biggest Japanese promotions, BHOTWG. Apparently Tasuku Iesada lost the book for them after they had a lackluster tour and were losing some of their fanbase. From what was reported, another veteran, Masayuki Shiga, is now in charge of shaping their future path.

That wasn't the only news, as apparently this is the year that NYCW wrestlers decide to launch their own promotions. First Steve Flash and PWC back in March ( though from what I understand, they are in financial trouble) and now The Masked Mauler is opening PWMAX in the Southwest USA, much to the consternation of Cliff Anderson, owner of CZCW. Mauler is apparently promoting his wrestling as Explosive action. Which from what I understand is a very modern style, drawing heavily on the new movement going on in Japan.

It will be interesting to see if they can avoid the same pitfalls that PWC didn't when it comes to overspending. I can't deny that Flash is putting on some really good shows, even better than ours, but his overhead has got to be through the roof with the people he has on the roster, and he's only drawing in the same number of people we are.

I actually had gotten a text from Quentin Queen earlier this week that PWMAX had offered him a job there. I only hoped it turned out better for him than Laine's experience in PWC. Queen told me that FCW's color commentator Cueball Lynch was running the book for Mauler. It should be interesting, though that is more Cliff''s problem than mine. Although, by the amount of bitching he was doing about them while I was negotiating a trade for Umaga, he seems to want it to become the Alliance's problem. ( Even though Umaga also works for NYCW, who are part of the alliance, I find Cliff easier to deal with than Larry Vessey, so I traded the services of the Good Ol Boys, Rayne Man and Quentin Queen for Umaga.)

In order to get Troy Winner to allow his champion to appear on my show for a night ( considering that he knows he's likely to lose given its a one shot appearance) I had to give him Cal Sanders and Ernest Youngman for his next show. While I feel Youngman is probably the best wrestler of that group, extra work can't hurt him.

It was risky bringing in two fairly expensive ( for me at least, considering they will be getting over $800 each, or about $300 more than I am paying any of my guys right now,) but even with Ford Gumble and Frankie Dee on the books last month, and running two shows, we had cleared a profit of $4400. Seeing as we were still in the black, and building a decent amount in the bank, I felt having both Antonio and Umaga on the next show was worth any hit we might take in order to continue the momentum gained from the last event.

TPW SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST

Saturday Week 2 September 2013

Windsor Arena Hall Ontario Canada Att: 300 ( SOLD OUT)

PRE SHOW

Ben Williams & Joffy Laine VS Buzz Reid & Outlaw Wes Revell

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Ben Williams and Joffy Laine defeated Buzz Reid and Outlaw Wes Revell in 5:51 when Ben Williams defeated Outlaw Wes Revell by submission.

Match Rating E

I admit that, aside from Laine and possibly Revell, these guys are unlikely to ever climb out of the lower card on our roster, and Williams and Reid aren't as useful as they might have been before we expanded faster than I expected. But on the positive side for them is they are getting more work ( and more money) than they ever would have just staying in the independents, and they are all signed on with TPW for at least 2 more years, meaning we get some cheap bodies to fill out the bottom of the roster.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ChloeDean_zpsd67be895.jpg

Streetz is in the ring with Roxy Kitten, Dharma Gregg and Chloe Dean. He leads them through a standard bikini contest - taking turns to wow the audience - before letting the crowd decide who wins. Roxy Kitten is announced as the winner, which both Dharma and Dean look very unhappy about.

Rating D-

I let Streetz host the bikini contest this time, billed as the End of Summer contest. Since Dharma had won before, Roxy wins this time to even things up between them.

Cal Sanders & Ernest Youngman w\ Dharma Gregg VS The Atlantic Connection w\ Streetz

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Cal Sanders and Ernest Youngman defeated The Atlantic Connection in 11:42 when Cal Sanders defeated Curtis Jenkins by pinfall with a Frog Splash.

Match Rating D

Sanders and Youngman start off the main show with a solid match

Bradley Blaze & The American Cobras w\ Dharma Gregg VS Bob Casey, Mountie Mann & Irwin Gutmann w\ Roxy Kitten

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Bob Casey, Mountie Mann and Irwin Gutmann defeated Bradley Blaze and American Cobras in 7:37 when Mountie Mann defeated Marvel Malloy by submission with a Canadian Sleeper Hold.

Match Rating E+

Giving the midcard heels a victory so they maintain their credibility against the upper level faces. Casey is here as his popularity from the independent scene puts him above most of the new blood. Mann is pretty much the gatekeeper to main event contention right now, and Gutmann, as long as he keeps his act together, is the midcard heel with the most potential right now. Fortunately, he has avoided any incidents recently. Well, there was that room clearing fart he let out before the show. I swear it took at least 15 minutes before that stink started to fade. And, while I have actually heard stories of bookers in some promotions coming down on a guy for that, its a natural bodily function, no matter how badly timed, and besides, the ribbing he will take from the boys in the locker room the next couple months will be worse punishment than anything I'd give him. Afterwards, he did come up to me and thank me for not over-reacting and making a deal of it. Maybe the kid is finally learning to open up....a tiny amount.

Josh Jones & Quentin Queen VS The Good Ol Boys

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Good Ole Boys defeated Josh Jones and Quentin Queen in 12:29 when Wooton Fitzpaine defeated Josh Jones by pinfall with a Running Big Foot.

Match Rating D-

Decent filler match with The Good Ol Boys taking the win after some recent losses. Jones seems to be finding his more natural spot in the midcard till he gets some more experience, and Queen was off tonight. But he's been more consistent than Laine, and PWMAX has shown interest in hiring him.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/RayneMan_zps3260c75a.jpg

Rayne Man is in the ring with a microphone

Rayne: So the 4C Champion wants to test his mettle against someone that fought against the best in the world in the biggest wrestling company in the world. Well, I say, no problem, come on down! Because once I beat Antonio Del Vecchio, I will be primed and ready to beat another champion next time when I take on whoever holds the Trademark Championship tonight! Because, like death and taxes, you can't stop the Rayne!

Rating E

Not Rayne's best work. Fairly forgettable promo that at least introduces the next match.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/RayneMan_zps3260c75a.jpg VS http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/AntonioDelVeccio_zps03976712.jpg

Rayne Man Vs Antonio Del Veccio

In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Rayne Man defeated Antonio Del Veccio in 17:34 by submission with a Rayne Fall.

Match Rating D

One thing I have noticed about our roster is that the upper tier of wrestlers is mostly face, and only a couple of heels. Being a heel champion, that gives me a broader pool of credible contenders to challenge for the title, but it does provide limited options in building up said contenders before facing me. Which is why I engineered for 4C's champion Antonio to come here and lose to Rayne, in order to provide just a bit more credibility and legitimacy to his challenge for the Trademark title.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/AkimaBrave_zpsc96ea7c4.jpg

Malili Umaga is in the ring.

Umaga: You know, I have competed all over North America, first with the SWF as part of a two time tag title winning team, and then by myself for promotions all across America. I have even gone on tour in Japan. Through all that, I have faced some of the toughest competition wrestling has to offer. So, to have some trumped up never was like Thomas Morgan claim he is better than me, or anyone else who laces up the boots is an insult! It's an insult that I will not stand for! Morgan, I have come here to show everyone that you aren't nearly as good as you think you are and I will add that Trademark Championship you value so much to my collection!

Rating D+

Strong promo that gets a big pop from the audience. Even though Umaga is NYCW Empire Champion, because we got him through a deal with CZCW, he doesn't have the belt with him.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ThomasMorgan_alt1.jpg

'Trademark' Thomas Morgan comes out from the back and responds to Umaga

Morgan: Umaga, you aren't the first to come here claiming they are going to beat me and take this title, and you probably won't be the last. And just like them, you will leave my ring and my company the same way, in defeat! What they learned and what you are going to learn is that I am not boasting, I am not bragging, I am simply stating a fact. I....AM...BETTER....THAN...YOU!!

Rating D-

My promo is okay, but not as strong as Umaga's.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/AkimaBrave_zpsc96ea7c4.jpg VS http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ThomasMorgan_alt1.jpg

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/TPWChampionship_zps1d866098.jpg

Malili Umaga VS Thomas Morgan© for the TPW Trademark Championship

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Thomas Morgan defeated Malili Umaga in 25:25 by submission with a STF. Thomas Morgan makes defence number 9 of his Trademark Championship title.

Match Rating C

An incredible match, ranking up there with the one I had with Dee last month. Umaga is probably a bigger star in North America than Dee is ( although they are about equal in Ontario, depending on how many of our fans watch SWF programming) so the fact that he was willing to come here and do the job for me ( even though I had to let him have most of the offense to keep him looking strong) is further evidence of my belief that I legitimately earn my place at the top of my company.

OVERALL SHOW C-

Our best show so far, even a little better than the one at the end of August. The moves to bring in Antonio and Umaga pay off in terms of continuing to increase our fanbase as all the wrestling forums the next day were calling the show awesome and better than some of the regional companies had been offering. Of course the real test would be to see if we could sustain this for the next show when I wasn't going to have anyone outside the company come in.I was going to have the meeting between Rayne and myself be the headline for it.

Wed Week 4 September 2013

As usual, i was browsing around the wrestling forums and trade sites for any news that would be relevant to me and my promotion.

In news that was more sad than surprising, Steve Flash's PWC company officially closed it's doors, after only 6 months of operations. Apparently they had fallen into every pitfall I had managed to avoid so far, namely hiring too much talent, and at too high a price. While they were putting on fantastic shows, they were getting less people to come watch them than we do. Not to mention trying to do it in the highly competitive Tri-State Area. in that area you are competing with NYCW, PSW and RIPW at regional level alone. But it is proof that most wrestling promotions ultimately fail, some faster than others. We've been lucky so far, as I have made sure my reach hasn't exceeded my grasp, but I am by no means out of the woods. As our audience expands, we have to expand with it, or stagnate and eventually lose that audience, or just settle into a little niche like NYCW and ACPW. And I want more than that.

Speaking of expanding, from the early ticket demands, we have 3 times the people asking for tickets than we can seat at the Windsor Arena Hall. I think I can safely lease the Twin Elms Park for our next show, and do a good job of filling it. If I can, that increased revenue will allow me to bring in a couple more people who have some name value, and maybe start running a show in Quebec. I'll have to see where we stand at the end of the month after the next show.

Since I didn't bring in anyone else from one of the other alliance feds, this show will have to stand on its own with our roster and the storylines we have running.

TPW PUSHING THE LIMITS

Held at Twin Elms Park , Ontario Canada Att: 1000 ( SOLD OUT)

Quentin Queen & The American Cobras w\ Dharma Gregg VS Buzz Reid & The Atlantic Connection w\ Streetz

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Buzz Reid and The Atlantic Connection defeated Quentin Queen and American Cobras in 8:16 when Buzz Reid defeated Storm Spillane by pinfall with a Termination Slam.

Match Rating D-

Ok match, that would have been a little better but Queen and Malloy weren't as sharp tonight as usual.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/tpwlogo1_zpse5eba405.jpg

The entire TPW roster in a 20 man battle royale.

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Thomas Morgan won a battle royal in 14:40. The other members of the 'final four' were Rayne Man, Ernest Youngman and Cal Sanders, with Rayne Man being the final elimination. Ernest Youngman got the most eliminations over the course of the match.

Match Rating D+

Something a little different to pop the huge crowd before the main event. As this show was going to stand on the merits of our roster, I decided to showcase the entire roster in one match. The last four were not coincidentally probably the top four current performers on the roster, and Youngman further impresses people by getting the most eliminations. The final two help build towards the main event later tonight.

MAIN SHOW

Cal Sanders & Josh Jones VS Bob Casey & Outlaw Wes Revell

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Cal Sanders and Josh Jones defeated Bob Casey and Outlaw Wes Revell in 7:56 when Cal Sanders defeated Outlaw Wes Revell by pinfall with a Frog Splash.

Match Rating E+

A fairly weak opening match isn't helped by Sanders and Jones not working well together as tag partners.

Ben Williams VS Irwin Gutmann w\ Roxy Kitten

In an extremely poor match, Irwin Gutmann defeated Ben Williams in 7:46 by submission with a Tiger Sleeper.

Match Rating E

An even worse follow up as, even with Alysian Scotsfield scripting the match, there was no psychology on display between these two. Which was ironic considering they actually seemed to have some chemistry working together.

Bradley Blaze & Joffy Laine VS Good Ol Boys

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Good Ole Boys defeated Bradley Blaze and Joffy Laine in 7:38 when Wooton Fitzpaine defeated Bradley Blaze by pinfall with a Running Big Foot.

Match Rating E+

Well, what is turning out to be a subpar night isn't helped by the fact that Blaze and Laine don't work very well as a team either. Still its the last couple matches that the crowd will remember when they leave tonight, so we can still salvage the show.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ErnestYoungman-1_zps91e00a51.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/DharmaGregg_zps3f559269.jpg

Dharma Gregg and Ernest Youngman speak in the back before his next match.

Dharma: What you are looking at is the best wrestler in the country no one is talking about. But we are going to change that. My client has been biding his time, honing his skills and rising up the ladder of contenders and soon, the board of directors for TPW are going to have to grant my client his well deserved shot at the Trademark Championship.

Youngman: Whether it's Morgan, Rayne, or someone else, I don't care. I will get my chance at that title sooner or later, and when I do, I am going to make the most of that opportunity and take the Trademark Championship!

Rating D-

Ok promo. Youngman isn't the best talker around, which is why he's paired with Dharma. This is the beginning of building him for the main event as he has been working his way up the roster and his consistently good performances are getting noticed by our increasing audience.

Ernest Youngman w\ Dharma Gregg VS Mountie Mann

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Ernest Youngman defeated Mountie Mann in 11:34 by pinfall.

Match Rating D+

Good match that energized the crowd some. Mountie Mann once again serves his purpose as gatekeeper as getting a victory over him is usually a sign his opponent is a serious contender.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/RayneMan_zps3260c75a.jpg

Rayne Man is out in the ring.

Rayne: Tonight Morgan I am coming for that Trademark title. The weather forecast is cold with a strong chance of Rayne taking the championship! Just like death and taxes, you can't stop the Rayne Man, Morgan!

Rating D-

Not exactly a sizzling promo, but the crowd seemed to pop a little as we head into the main event.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ThomasMorgan_alt1.jpg

'Trademark' Thomas Morgan comes out of the back and responds.

Morgan: Rayne, just because you got to get beat up by guys in the big time doesn't mean you are any more of a challenge to me than everyone else who has tried to take this title off me in the last nine months. You are going to learn what Umaga learned, what Dee,Jones and anyone else who steps in the ring learns. I...AM...BETTER...THAN...YOU!!

Rating D

Decent promo as I continue to build heat with the crowd.

Rayne Man vs 'Trademark' Thomas Morgan © for the Trademark Championship

In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Rayne Man drew with Thomas Morgan in 20:00 when the time limit expired.

Match Rating C-

A solid match that had the crowd energized. The time limit draw allows us to extend the feud further.

OVERALL SHOW D+

While the night started off lackluster, the last two matches really saved the show, and demonstrated that we could maintain our momentum without having to bring in a 'special attraction'. Although I will probably do so a few times in the future as that is a great way to build quick interest. We had actually been turning away people the last few shows, but when the advance interest was so high, I knew it was time to lease out a bigger venue. Still, I didn't expect to sell it out the first show!

Week 1 October 2013

With the increased gate from the larger venue more than offsetting the increased overhead, after I balanced the books for September, we had made a profit of over $13k! With the ability to draw in a larger audience now, and a larger cushion in the bank, and given that the first part of the last show was fairly weak, I felt that I could afford to bring in a couple of people to strengthen up the midcard. I had been watching dvd and tapes from the other regional promotions ( just like in sports, wrestlers watch tapes and dvds of other wrestlers. Just because the outcome may be decided before the match in most promotions doesn't mean that the wrestlers don't scout each other. You always like to know before hand what their moves are in the ring, how they handle different styles, how well they can adapt or if they prefer to work to a script, etc.) and keeping an eye on the comings and goings, especially from regional promotions. Since I preferred to contact wrestlers who didn't have other commitments currently,( partly to avoid conflicts with other companies, but mostly because, having gone all those years not getting the call from a promotion, I like to help others in a similiar situation, especially if they are a good fit for my company). After contacting a few people, I narrowed it down to four names. Of those four, two had recently been released from other regional companies, ( namely 4C and RIPW) and after discussing details, we worked out contracts and both should be a good fit in our midcard. So on the next show,

Chris Flynn and Raphael would officially joining TPW.

The third person was the son of the Hall of Immortals member, the recently passed Crippler Ray Kingman, Barry. I reached out to Barry after the funeral to offer my condolences, and naturally the conversation turned to wrestling and from there into talks regarding a possible contract. While Barry would be a solid addition to our roster, and helpful in training up the youngsters, he wanted more than I was paying anyone else a show by a few hundred dollars. While I could afford the contract, I saw Barry more as a gatekeeper type like Cal Sanders, than someone who would be able to carry main events on our show, and if he was going to be the highest paid person on our roster, he needed to be able to do that, if only so him making a lot more than most of the wrestlers didn't cause tension in the locker room. Wrestlers are funny, especially those still working the opening and middle of the show. They don't mind the headliners making more, but guys in their positions doing so causes issues. So ultimately, Barry wasn't a good fit , at least not at the moment. But there was one other person who was available, who, although he would be even more expensive per show than Kingman, had built a level of respect in the industry that no one would have a problem with it.

From the Trademark Pro Wrestling website

TPW is proud to announce that former NOTPBW and CGC tag champion 'Remarkable' Steve Flash would be joining the promotion. Flash is a highly respected wrestler who has held titles in multiple promotions and was the 2011 Rip Chord Invitational Champion. All of us look forward to having this decorated veteran add his skills to the rapidly rising Trademark Pro Wrestling promotion.

I gazed at the website with the announcement of Steve Flash joining us with no small sense of satisfaction. While the average wrestling fan who watches SWF or TCW, or has only caught on to CGC and NOTBPW in the last decade may not have heard his name, or only vaguely know who he is, hardcore wrestling fans throughout North America know just how good he is. In terms of basic wrestling skills and ability to tell a story in the ring, he is one of the best wrestlers in North America hands down. Although he lacked the 'look' or charisma to get the chance on the really big stage, he had been successful as a tag wrestler in both the Canadian promotions in the 90's and headlining regional promotions in the Tri-state area. While even he admits he's starting to slow down, he adds a ton of value to our roster in terms of just being able to show the young guys on our roster just how its done. While I am hopeful I can get a main event run with him, even if he can't put on the best match of the night anymore, he can provide the ability to teach the others how to construct their matches, as I have been thinking its time to upgrade from Alysian in that department.

Given that Steve and I both knew he probably wasn't going to be an active wrestler for a lot longer, instead of the usual three year contracts I had offered the rest of my talent, we had agreed to a 6 month deal instead. He would get paid a substantial ppa, get billing as a 'special attraction' for that period, and in return he would work with the boys behind the scenes. Then we would re-evaulate in six months to see what he wanted to do after that, whether it was to seek other opportunities, transition to backstage, or give it another go at trying to run his own promotion. But for at least the next six months we would have his services here.

Flash, saviour of the universe.

Probably not in my game. In this one, he's in serious time decline. I doubt I'll be getting C+ matches out of him, but his being a locker room leader is always helpful, even though I have been above 70% backstage atmosphere.

Really, all I expect now is to have the inside track when he retires to land him as a road agent. And have him improve the performance skills of whoever he wrestles.

I've had the exact same problem with Flash. In his spell with my company in 2015, his highest rating was a D- against KC Glenn. For the money I was paying him, it wasn't high enough for me, especially when Matthew Keith is on a lower paid contract and bringing in C rated matches.

yeah, if he's still wrestling in 2015 in my game, with his time decline already 10 years past prime, I wouldn't expect him to be more than a gatekeeper training up your rising talent and rookies. But I look at his value more than whether he can still carry a main event. If he can, great, but even if not, if you are a small or regional company, you aren't likely to find a better road agent for the price, coupled with being a locker room leader, and since his popularity will usually have him at or near main event push for a regional company or smaller, that carries more weight backstage.

If nothing else, stick him in 2-3 6-8 min dark matches with talent who need to learn basics, psychology or other performance row skills. Even in his decline, there is value to be had.

PRE SHOW

Marvel Malloy VS Storm Spillane VS Quentin Queen VS Outlaw Wes Revell VS Buzz Reid

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Quentin Queen defeated Marvel Malloy, Outlaw Wes Revell, Buzz Reid and Storm Spillane in 7:45 when Quentin Queen defeated Marvel Malloy by pinfall with a Q-Ball.

Match Rating E

Queen was really off his game tonight, but still manages to get the victory in this warm up match for the people not on the main show.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/SteveFlash-1_zps0c9a684e.jpg VS http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ThomasMorgan_alt1.jpg

Steve Flash VS Thomas Morgan

In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Steve Flash drew with Thomas Morgan in 15:00 when the time limit expired.

Match Rating D

Since Steve himself admits he's not as sharp in the ring as he used to be, I decide to kind of test him out to see if we would be able to do a decent main event program together. The match, while not earth shattering, seemed smooth enough that with a little build, I didn't see any reason why Steve couldn't be around the main event for the next few shows.

MAIN SHOW

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/RoxyKitten_zps79a35617.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/Raphael-1_zpsd0212d5a.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/DharmaGregg_zps3f559269.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ChrisFlynn_zpsa4597200.jpg

Roxy Kitten is walking backstage with a new face to TPW when she comes upon Dharma Gregg.

Roxy: Well, if it isn't everyone's favorite party girl? Surprised to see you standing up Dharma. But since you're here, let me introduce my newest client, a man whose skills are going to take TPW by storm, Raphael!

Dharma stares daggers at Roxy for a moment, then, looking at Raphael, she whistles to another new face who was over by the buffet table. He steps up beside Dharma and stares hard at Raphael.

Dharma: What a coincidence Roxy. I just happen to have a new client myself, Chris Flynn. So why don't my boys face your boys out in the ring tonight?

Roxy: You're on! Let's go Raphael, you and Gutmann are going to tear apart her team!

Dharma: C'mon Chris, lets go tell Ernest you and him are about to have some fun.

Rating E- ( Roxy's intro of Raphael)

Rating E ( Dharma's intro of Chris Flynn)

Introducing the other two new signings to our roster. And,since Dharma and Roxy are still feuding, I paired the new guys off with them to continue that feud and add some new matchups. Dharma introducing Chris got a little more of a pop, since the Ontario fans here would recognize him from his time working in 4C.

Ernest Youngman & Chris Flynn w\ Dharma Gregg VS Irwin Gutmann & Raphael w\ Roxy Kitten

In a bout that had solid in-ring action and average heat, Ernest Youngman and Chris Flynn defeated Irwin Gutmann and Raphael in 11:54 when Ernest Youngman defeated Irwin Gutmann by pinfall.

Match Rating D+

A very good bout to kick off the expansion of the Dharma-Roxy feud. Roxy in particular seems to fit perfectly with her clients as she and Raphael look like a good pairing.

Ben Williams, Bradley Blaze & Joffy Laine VS Mountie Mann & The Atlantic Connection w\ Streetz

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Mountie Mann and The Atlantic Connection defeated Ben Williams, Bradley Blaze and Joffy Laine in 8:07 when Curtis Jenkins defeated Bradley Blaze by pinfall with a Fisherman's Suplex.

Match Rating E+

Filler match, to give Mann and the Connection a solid win. Although the other team did have to deal with Williams getting tired from even this short a match, and Blaze having an off night.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/JoshJones_zps33bc926b.jpg VS http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/BobCasey-1_zps1570090b.jpg

Josh Jones VS Bob Casey

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Josh Jones defeated Bob Casey in 7:45 by pinfall with a Canadian Backdrop.

Match Rating D-

Giving Jones another solid win. If I expand my roster more, I may have to consider introducing a midcard title.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/SteveFlash-1_zps0c9a684e.jpg

A short video package plays, formally introducing Steve Flash, and providing highlights ranging from his time as CGC and NOTBPW tag champion ( which is what older fans here will remember), to when he was RPW champion during the East Coast wars, some of his classic NYCW matches, and then finally his win a couple years ago at the Rip Chord Invitational.

Rating D-

Part of my benenfits with the COTT alliance was being able to utilize clips of Steve from NYCW and MAW. RPW wasn't a problem as they have been out of business for several years, and as for the older stuff, Steve had gotten written permission to use clips from his old CGC and NOTBPW matches in the past, as long as they were just short clips and not full matches.

Steve Flash & Cal Sanders VS Good Ol Boys

In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Steve Flash and Cal Sanders defeated Good Ole Boys in 12:29 when Steve Flash defeated Thimbleby Langton by pinfall with a Flash Bang.

Match Rating D

Flash gets a solid debut win, and the Good Ol Boys get to work with people who actually know how to perform in the ring.

Rayne Man is backstage before his title shot.

Rayne: Morgan, here's your weather forcast. You are in for a stormy night, because tonight the Rayne is coming and I am going to wash you away and take the Trademark title!.

Rating D-

Short, average promo to hype the main event.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ThomasMorgan_alt1.jpg

Thomas Morgan responds backstage.

Morgan: I hate to break it to you Rayne, but a little drizzle is not going to be able to defeat me. You are just another in what is becoming a long list of people who seem to have this delusion that they can beat me and take this title. But tonight you will face the same harsh reality they all faced! The simple fact that I...AM...BETTER...THAN...YOU! One more time I will prove that basic truth to every one here. So come on down Rayne, and I will show everyone that you are all wet!

Rating D+

Getting a good deal of heat from the crowd for my promos.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/RayneMan_zps3260c75a.jpg VS http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ThomasMorgan_alt1.jpg

Rayne Man VS 'Trademark' Thomas Morgan © for the Trademark Championship in a Cage Match

In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Thomas Morgan defeated Rayne Man in a Cage match in 25:24 by submission with a STF. Thomas Morgan makes defence number 11 of his Trademark Championship title.

Match Rating C-

A good main event closes out what has been a solid night of action. Given the variety of opponents I have faced over the past ten months, and the results, both in our main events and overall shows, I think I have gone a long way towards proving the point that I am able to headline a promotion successfully and believably at this level, and that all those promotions who never game me a shot over the last 20 years missed a golden opportunity.

OVERALL SHOW D+

In addition to the solid main event, the new blood for TPW had good debuts as well as we continue to expand the quality of our roster and our popularity as well. Checking out the wrestling forums the following day, the buzz was still that we were doing awesome shows.

I want Thomas to be the champ until at least Regional. Carrying all those other un-trademarked grapplers to the (slightly more lofty) heights of fame.

Also, I wanted to say that this formatting really shouldn't work with the c'n'p of the TEW notes, but it does thanks to your comments after it. I'm more interested in characters than in matches now so your succinct recaps really hit the right note for me.

Gregg and Kitten seem to be way better on the mic than Dean... might be why she's just managing a mid-card maybe.

I do think you need to have Guttman lose a few more times... it seemed for a while there if he didn't cause a fracas pre-show he got a win... setting a bad example there Morgan! Don't start a fire... win a title!

I haven't downloaded TEW 13, but it seems Flash has gone from being an indy/regional saviour to being perhaps what he should be at this point... an indy/regional teacher. He'll help those with the basics and psychology but he's not going to be the go-to guy anymore.

Long may the Trademark reign!

Come on, drop the title Thomas!

Nevertheless love the show and your style of writing.

Long may the Trademark reign!

Morgan is getting a lengthy reign for a few reasons, mostly having to do with the basis of the diary, his desire to prove he shouldn't have been stuck in the indies for 20 years. Its also building the prestige of the belt ( which is at a B atm). Also, he is, until recently, literally the most popular wrestler in the region for the promotion. But I do intend him to drop it to someone who should be able to carry it for awhile, and Youngman, if hes not stolen, is being groomed as a future champion, probably fairly soon in terms of months.

Flash's value is tied to how bad his time decline stat is. If you are lucky, he has a few solid years left, if you are unlucky, thats months.

And as for the write up style, I guess what I am going for here is the feeling that you are watching the cheap ass DVD a small promotion would put out of its matches and events, and with it you are getting the commentary of Thomas Morgan, kind of an insight into the mind of the owner and booker. So since I dont have an announcer or commentator yet ( thus saving money :) ) the viewer isn't getting a hold by hold acct of the match, just what the owner thought of it while making it, and how it turned out.

Bradley Blaze VS Mountie Mann

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Mountie Mann defeated Bradley Blaze in 8:09 by submission with a Canadian Sleeper Hold.

Match Rating D-

Racking up a solid win for Mann, who is still in the position of being the top heel behind me in the company, although this wasn't his best work.

American Cobras w\ Dharma Gregg VS The Atlantic Connection w\ Streetz

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, The Atlantic Connection defeated American Cobras in 7:33 when Curtis Jenkins defeated Storm Spillane by pinfall with a Fisherman's Suplex.

Match Rating D

Decent tag bout between two of the three established teams on the roster. As we continue to grow, I am looking into adding tag titles to the company, and then a midcard singles title as well, but I don't think I have quite enough reliably able bodies right now. Atlantic Connection and Good Ol Boys can serve as the backbone of a tag division, and American Cobras, while still more of an enhancement team, can help fill it, but I haven't found a spark among some of the other wrestlers who don't have a clear direction, and I think I need at least another solid team or two in order to form a tag division that isn't just the same 3 or 4 teams wrestling every show. While I can bring in teams from other alliance companies to keep matches fresh, I'd still like to have 4-5 established teams of our own.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/SteveFlash-1_zps0c9a684e.jpg VS http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/BenWilliams_zpsb777d81b.jpg

Steve Flash VS Ben Williams

In a match that had an average crowd reaction but featured terrible wrestling, Steve Flash defeated Ben Williams in 5:40 by pinfall with a Flash Bang.

Match Rating E

Training match, because if anyone needs some serious improvement, its Ben Williams. However, this match proves that not even Steve Flash is a miracle worker as he can only carry Ben to a passable match. Whats really ironic is afterwards, Flash told me he felt a connection in the ring with Williams. I'd hate to think how bad this match would have been if he hadn't.

Chris Flynn w\ Dharma Gregg VS Irwin Gutmann w\ Roxy Kitten

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Chris Flynn defeated Irwin Gutmann in 12:30 by submission with a Flynn-Lock.

Match Rating D+

Good opening match with Flynn, who has some fans in this area, getting the victory as the ongoing feud between Dharma and Roxy continues.

After the match, cameras catch Dharma and Roxy in a heated exchange backstage

Roxy: Your man got lucky Dharma! But just wait till Raphael faces your precious Youngman later tonight. He's going to beat your meal ticket right there in the ring and then it will be me whose next in line with a title shot!

Dharma: Please. Like that's ever gonna happen. Youngman will beat Raphael just like he beats everyone else put in front of him. And then, thanks to my guidance, he will soon become the Trademark Champion. Face it Roxy, you are jealous because I am prettier, smarter and have better clients than you.

Roxy: The only thing you are better at than me is being sluttier! There's no way I would ever lose to a skank like you!

Dharma: Poor dear, jealousy really makes you unattractive. But, I have better things to do than deal with your lack of self-esteem issues. Like set up the victory celebration when my client beats your client again. Ta-Ta!

Dharma then walks away as Roxy stares daggers at her back.

Rating D-

A little more heat for their feud, as well as setting up the Youngman-Raphael match later.

Quentin Queen & Joffy Laine VS Good Ol Boys

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Good Ole Boys defeated Joffy Laine and Quentin Queen in 8:18 when Thimbleby Langton defeated Joffy Laine by pinfall with a Gutwrench Flapjack.

Match Rating E+

Midcard filler match. Once again Laine, whose biggest problem is complete lack of consistency in his performance, has a really off night. If he could ever get a handle on that, and turn in consistent performances, he has all the other tools to make a name for himself, but until then, he's going to be looking at the lights a lot.

Rayne Man, Cal Sanders, and Josh Jones VS Bob Casey, Buzz Reid & Outlaw Wes Revell

In a match that had an average crowd reaction but featured terrible wrestling, Rayne Man, Cal Sanders and Josh Jones defeated Bob Casey, Buzz Reid and Outlaw Wes Revell in 7:54 when Rayne Man defeated Outlaw Wes Revell by pinfall with a Rayne Drop.

Match Rating E+

Another filler match, in order to give some of the upper tier faces a win. Although I did expect a little better than this. Reid I know is hopeless in the ring, and Revell is still learning, but Rayne and Sanders, along with Casey should be able to take up some of the slack.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ErnestYoungman-1_zps91e00a51.jpg w\http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/DharmaGregg_zps3f559269.jpg

Ernest Youngman, accompanied by his manager Dharma Gregg is backstage.

Youngman: Potential. That is often a word I hear when people describe me. But I don't like that word. To me, it means someone who is less than they should be, who hasn't achieved what they should have. I prefer the word Proven. And that is the word people will use to describe me once I have beaten the best competition I can find, and once I become a champion. So, Raphael, I welcome the challenge you bring to me tonight. Because you've had gold around your waist in the past. Because you have competed and risen near the top of a promotion like this before. So, when I beat you, I take one more step farther from Potential and closer to Proven.

Youngman then drops the mike, and followed by Dharma, walks to the ring.

Rating D+

Youngman breaks out with a strong promo, which gets a good reaction from the audience. He has slowly but surely established himself as a force to be reckoned with and is knocking on the door of the main event.

Ernest Youngman w\ Dharma Gregg VS Raphael w\ Roxy Kitten

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Ernest Youngman defeated Raphael in 11:59 by pinfall.

Match Rating C

In what was the match of the night, and in the top three of TPW matches of all time, Youngman makes his claim to main event status, and Raphael shows he is one to watch as well. While he may not be in the mold of the average SWF wrestler, I still have to wonder what the hell Professor Nero was thinking when he let Raphael go.

Steve Flash is backstage and challenges Thomas Morgan

Flash: Morgan, you claim to be better than me, or anyone else in this company. Well, I have made a living for over 25 years proving people wrong who thought they were better than me! And I did that by winning titles everywhere I went. CGC, NOTBPW,RPW,NYCW,MAW...everywhere I went, I fought those who claimed they were better, and in the end I was the one wearing the gold. Now, once again, I have returned to my home, Canada, and while I may not be the man I once was, I am still good enough to prove you wrong Morgan and win another title!

Rating E+

Bit of a come down following the hot match from Youngman and Raphael, but then, Flash has never been a good talker on the mike. He does all his talking in the ring, and that is where he has earned the industries respect over the last two plus decades.

THomas Morgan is backstage and replies

Morgan: Steve, you know I have watched you compete for years, ever since I was a teenager, and I have to say I respect you. Well, not the broken down old man whose here tonight, but the man you used to be, the man who did win championships everywhere he went. And that man might have actually given me a challenge. That man might have actually made me work to retain my championship and prove that I am better. But that man is long gone, and in his place is a relic trying to cling to fading glory. I wish I was facing the man you were instead of the pathetic man you have become, because then I would have gotten more satisfaction out of it when I beat you and once again tonight I show you and everyone here that I...AM...BETTER...THAN...YOU!

Rating D

My promo gets some solid heel heat from the sold out crowd as we head into the main event.

Steve Flash VS Thomas Morgan© for the Trademark Championship

In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Steve Flash drew with Thomas Morgan in 20:00 when the time limit expired.

Match Rating C-

Not quite to the level of Youngman-Raphael but still an excellent match, among the top 5 in TPW history so far, and proof that, at least at this level, Flash can still bring it in the main event. Which is good, because although Youngman is rising fast, I feel he still needs to get a little more momentum and fan support behind him before putting him at the top, and being me being able to work a program with Flash over the next couple months will give him that extra bit of time to really establish himself at the top.

OVERALL SHOW C-

It may be splitting hairs, but honestly I feel this has been our best overall show yet this year. Flash, Flynn and Raphael have brought more depth and stability to our roster, just like I hoped and the buzz from the fan forums after the show was that this was indeed an awesome show, and that we were outstripping other promotions our size in quality of events.

Hey Dragonmack, just wanted to pop in and let you know I'm enjoying this a lot. Just have one request though - PLEASE give Ernest Youngman an actual finisher, him making his rise to the top will be that much more appealing if he picks up a devastating finisher or something to that effect.
