With the increased sponsor money, and the fact that we were in the black another $2500 ( which means I have already doubled what I had originally to invest in the company),

I could bring in a few more people, including some more experienced indy workers to add to the roster. After a few days of calls I was able to add a couple of veterans from the Canadian independents I had worked with that were too expensive to bring in initially, but in my range now. I was also able to add a guy with some name value due to his being in the SWF for a couple years before spending the last three bouncing around the indy leagues. Also i secured another tag team that had some experience with one of the smaller US promotions for awhile. And finally I added two more people to act as managers to balance things out, as Chloe and Dharma were both face managers, even though I have teased rivalry between them. As I am learning pretty much on the fly, you need to be able to adapt to changing circumstances quickly. We even managed to get a small website going where we listed the new additions coming to TPW for the show in March in order to create even more buzz and hopefully draw in some more people.

Added were

Greg 'Rayne Man' Henn

Probably the most known name on our roster now, that wrestles actively, from his few years spent in SWF in their undercard and occasional tv appearances ( usually losing to the better known talent). Still, he's a decent wrestler, and adds some relative star power for someone our size.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/CalSanders_zps5b57db41.jpg

Cal Sanders

Like me, he has been on the Canadian Independent scene for over a decade, and despite excellent ring skills, he too has never gotten the opportunity with a name promotion. Of course, unlike me, he doesn't connect well with the crowd, but he's reliable, good in the ring, and always has been upbeat backstage. Something that is valuable to a locker room that was mostly rookies and near rookies at this point.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/BobCasey-1_zps1570090b.jpg

Bob Casey

The ultimate enhancement worker. While never a full time hire, Bob has lost for probably every promotion in North America at one time or another as he is a master of putting others over. In addition to being able to make others look good, he is a veteran presence, having been in the industry for almost 20 years, and he's a strong backstage leader as well, making him valuable on several fronts.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/CurtisJenkins_zps2a5eb244.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/RileyMcManus_zpsc9951795.jpg

Curtis Jenkins and Riley McManus The Atlantic Connection

I originally was only going to pick up Riley, who had a halfway decent run in MAW for a few years, and looked like he had some potential, but as I was talking with him, he was chatting up about his former partner Jenkins, and as I only had two established teams right now and we were expanding the roster, decided to contact Jenkins to see if he was available for a price I wanted to pay. He was, and thus TPW gets its third established experienced tag team.

Roxy Kitten

For managers, eye candy is a nice bonus, but being able to cover their clients weaknesses when it comes to promos and interactions is a primary motivation for me. So, when discussing some possible low cost options that fit that bill, Dharma brought up Roxy. Like Dharma, Roxy had been in BSC for its run, and afterwards had transitioned to a managerial role. She had the ability to interact with fans, cut a promo, and a ready made rivalry with Dharma.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/Streetz_zps87276eff.jpg

Streetz

As i said, being able to talk to cover your clients was the main concern when looking for new managers. And over the last few years, I had crossed paths with Jon 'streetz' Brown at the various independent shows in Canada. He did the 'fast talking, streetwise' manager gimmick quite well, so I brought him in and paired him with the Atlantic Connection team.

I like it so far and will be following.

By the way: Are these little botch-ups with Chloe Dean and the one minute match only part of your story or did you actually mess them up in your game? :)

Actually messed up in game. But they do add some character to the story, and would be in keeping with a new promotion and a first time owner, as you know things will go occasionally haywire! :D

Sat Week 2 March 2013

It was about an hour before the main show and about twenty minutes before we sent out the warmup matches. I stuck my head through the entrance curtain, and even though people were still filing in, I could see we had at least double the people we had last show, so the buzz looked like it was paying off. That was good, as the Windsor Arena was sticking me with a bill four times as much as we paid last month for the increased staff on hand for parking, vendors, etc to deal with the expected larger crowd. Even with the extra sponsorship money, every dollar still counts, and I would need an increased gate to help offset the increase in operating costs.

The Atlantic Connection w\Streetz VS The American Cobras

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, The Atlantic Connection defeated American Cobras in 8:10 when Curtis Jenkins defeated Storm Spillane by pinfall with a Fisherman's Suplex.

The new team turn in a solid match in their unofficial debut

Bob Casey VS Joffy Laine

In an extremely poor match, Bob Casey defeated Joffy Laine in 7:52 by pinfall with a Roll Up.

Match Rating E+

Casey does his best to make Joffy look good before taking the victory, but for all his skills its apparent that Laine is really up and down in his performances and this was another down night.

Good Ol Boys VS Quentin Queen and Ben Williams

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Good Ole Boys defeated Ben Williams and Quentin Queen in 12:04 when Thimbleby Langton defeated Ben Williams by pinfall with a Gutwrench Flapjack.

Match Rating E-

Another random pairing gets defeated by the Good Ol Boys as they continue to be presented as our top tag team. But I begin to see why they didn't stick with PSW as their performances so far haven't exactly impressed.

Ernest Youngman w\ Dharma Gregg & Bradley Blaze VS Buzz Reid & Outlaw Wes Revell

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Bradley Blaze and Ernest Youngman defeated Outlaw Wes Revell and Buzz Reid in 8:04 when Ernest Youngman defeated Outlaw Wes Revell by pinfall.

Match Rating E+

It was clear to the audience that Youngman was well above the other three in talent as he almost single handedly carried it to a watcheable match.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/DharmaGregg_zps3f559269.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/RoxyKitten_zps79a35617.jpg

Dharma Gregg is walking backstage when she turns a corner and runs into a familiar face. Dharma has a distasteful look on her face as she says

"Roxy Kitten. I thought I left your sorry ass back in the collapse of BSC. But I see you managed to crawl out of whatever hole you've been in the last year."

The newcomer, Roxy, replies sarcastically

" Dharma. How nice to see you again. I've missed your warmth and companionship so much. I see you haven't wasted any time and hitched yourself to the back of a rising star... or should I say, hitched yourself while on your back."

Dharma gives a catty grin as says

" You're just jealous that, just as in BSC, I am far more successful at what I do than you could ever be! With my guidance, Youngman will be a champion in this business, something you would never be able to do!"

Roxy, also with a catty look on her face as the disdain between them is thick in the atmosphere replies

" Don't make any bets on it Dharma. I have a client here in TPW as well. And he's every bit as good as your boy in the ring, if not better! As you will see soon."

Roxy walks away with a smug flip of her hair as Dharma stares daggers at her retreating back.

Rating E-

Adding some layers to a pending feud, which will encompass the managers as well as the wrestlers.

Josh Jones w\ Chloe Dean VS Irwin Gutmann w\ Roxy Kitten

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Josh Jones defeated Irwin Gutmann in 11:54 by pinfall with a Canadian Backdrop.

Match Rating D-

In the best match of the night so far, both Jones and Gutmann get a chance to show their ring skills.Jones eeks out a hardfought victory to further his claim to a title shot. The only thing really holding both of them back is neither really works to get the crowd involved in the match, making it very clinical. Still both are young and thats why managers exist in wrestling, to help cover these flaws. And from what I saw during this match, Roxy and Gutmann play off each other just as well as Youngman and Dharma did.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/RayneMan_zps3260c75a.jpg VS http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/BobCasey-1_zps1570090b.jpg

Rayne Man VS Bob Casey

In a bout that had a good crowd but featured terrible wrestling, Rayne Man defeated Bob Casey in 11:38 by submission with a Rayne Fall.

Match Rating E

The crowd ( as little as it was, filling about 40% of the arena) was excited about this match as Rayne Man was at least someone most of them had heard of, and Casey had a small following from his years on the circuit. But the match itself didn't live up to the hype. Casey seems to have been letting himself go since the last time I saw him as he was starting to wheeze ten minutes in. Hopefully this was just an aberration or debut nerves.

Chloe Dean, followed by Josh Jones, comes out to the ring.

Dean: " Thomas Morgan, once again my client has gotten another impressive win. Once again, he has proven himself one of the top competitors. You cannot continue to deny him a shot at the Trademark title!"

'Trademark' Thomas Morgan comes down to the ring and grabs the microphone from Dean's hand.

Morgan: "Yes I can. While Gutmann is a solid competitor, he's basically a rookie, so really, it's not all that impressive. There are far better opponents that might provide an actual challenge, such as the opponent I face tonight, a grizzled veteran with over a dozen years of experience under his belt. Not that he will get the job done. Because, to make it clear to you, your client, and all these people here, I am better than him, I am better than them and I am better than you!"

Morgan glares right at Jones when he says this, and Jones glares right back, getting right in Morgan's face.

Dean: ' My client will get what he is due. And if you won't do it Morgan, well, you may be the owner, but there are people even you have to answer to!'

Morgan: 'Don't try to threaten me Chloe! Remember who authorizes your paycheck! If you want to continue being employed, I suggest you get this jabroni out of my face and both of you get out of my ring! I have a match with a real competitor!"

Rating E+ Dean's Challenge

Rating D- Morgan's response.

Even though I have added a couple more top contenders to the roster, I continue pushing Jones as the next main threat to my title.

Cal Sanders VS 'Trademark' Thomas Morgan © for the TPW Trademark Championship

In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Thomas Morgan defeated Cal Sanders in 19:43 by submission with a STF. Thomas Morgan makes defence number 2 of his Trademark Championship title.

Match Rating C-

Sanders is another one who had never gotten the big break, but who had developed a following from diehard Canadian indy wrestling fans. He shows his skills here as he gives me a very tough match which goes back and forth until around twenty minutes in, I lock in the STF for the submission. We get a loud response from the 120 or so fans in attendance and backstage after the show, Sanders and I share a toast to what has been the best match in TPW so far.

OVERALL SHOW D

While there were some lows, for once we avoided glaring mistakes and we ended up on a high note with the final match. We got a lot of buzz on the trade sites that we had stepped up our game and continued to be slowly building our reputation.

April 2nd 2013

The financial statements came in and after tallying the expenses with the profits from merchandising and sales of dvds, along with the sponsorship money, we had come in another 2500 in the black. Which was good as I wanted to add someone else to the roster to even things up ( as there were 19 active wrestlers on the roster currently) plus Buzz Reid wasn't really living up to the role I was envisioning for him. So, now that I had a little room to play with , there was someone that had been on the Canadian independent scene for the past few years that better fit the bill of what I was looking for. Both in terms of ring skills and ability to play the role of a heavy or bodyguard type. That person was

Mountie Mann

He played an effective corrupt mountie character which would provide a decent fit for my plans for the main storyline playing out. Reid might still have a role as a bodyguard, but Mann was a far better ring performer.

Saturday Week 2 April 2013

I was in my small office at the Windsor Arena Hall a couple hours before the show when I heard a lot of shouting coming from the locker room. As I got there and yelled at everyone to break up whatever was going on, to my lack of surprise, Irwin Gutmann was in the center of things again. This time he had been getting on Bradley Blaze's case, insinuating that he wasn't dedicated enough to the business, and kept on ragging him to the point that Blaze was about to go after him till the boys intervened. I took Gutmann aside once again and basically read him the riot act, telling him that this was twice in three months he had caused problems in the locker room, and his position with the company wasn't all that secure, despite him being in one of our secondary feuds. He gave me another shrug and stated he would try not to let it happen again. With the situation finally calmed down, I headed back to my office to deal with the last minute details, hoping the message got through to Gutmann this time. He had talent, but not so much I would have a problem getting rid of him if he was going to continue being disruptive.

Bradley Blaze & Joffy Laine VS The Atlantic Connection w\ Streetz

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, The Atlantic Connection defeated Joffy Laine and Bradley Blaze in 7:37 when Curtis Jenkins defeated Bradley Blaze by pinfall with a Fisherman's Suplex.

Match Rating D-

A mixed bag of a match to start of the pre show action. The Atlantic Connection deliver a decent performance as I test various combinations, but the other combination was a total failure as Blaze and Laine had lousy communication as a team and Laine was inconsistent in his performance again. Laine is a puzzle. He has everything needed to succeed in terms of look, ability to get the crowd involved, and improving skills, yet he can't seem to put it together in back to back shows.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/StormSpillane_zps20c25296.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/MarvelMalloy_zps2b80e726.jpg w\ http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/DharmaGregg_zps3f559269.jpg VS http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/MountieMann_zps16a38f5d.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/OutlawWesRevell_zps496d38cd.jpg

American Cobras w\ Dharma Gregg VS Mountie Mann & Outlaw Wes Revell

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Outlaw Wes Revell and Mountie Mann defeated American Cobras in 8:14 when Mountie Mann defeated Storm Spillane by submission with a Canadian Sleeper Hold.

American Cobras have some experience together as Malloy and Spillane grew up together and have been teaming since they broke into the business, but both are still fairly raw talents ( Spillane is a little ahead and Malloy is not the best fit for us, being a cruiserweight, but the team is slightly above the originals) so, even though they are an established team, they lose here to the random pairing. Mountie Mann makes his debut and gets a solid win before the fans who are still filing in and before his appearance later on the main show.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/CalSanders_zps5b57db41.jpg VS http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/IrwinGutmann_zpsf44983fc.jpg

Cal Sanders VS Irwin Gutmann

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Cal Sanders defeated Irwin Gutmann in 8:05 by pinfall with a Frog Splash.

Match Rating D+

There are more ways to try to instill discipline in a locker room than verbal confrontation. A lot of the times, the veterans in the locker room will reinforce the message in the ring. Such is the case here as Sanders is a little stiffer than usual in his offense. Gutmann, to his credit, rolls with it and works in the match, as he and Sanders deliver a fairly solid performance before the beginning of the main show.

MAIN SHOW

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/BradleyBlaze_zps7e158621.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/BenWilliams_zpsb777d81b.jpg VS http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ThimblebyLangton_zps2d5e4bcd.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/WootonFitzpaine_zpsb15ddcd0.jpg

Bradley Blaze & Ben Willians VS The Good Ol Boys

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Good Ole Boys defeated Bradley Blaze and Ben Williams in 7:56 when Wooton Fitzpaine defeated Ben Williams by pinfall after using a foreign object. During the match we also had Outlaw Wes Revell distract Blaze.

Match Rating E

With this being our fourth show now, and probably very few roster changes likely to take place over at least the next few months, I began ramping up some of the storylines I had been slowly building the first three months. One of those was the good cowboy\ outlaw cowboy dynamic with Blaze and Revell. Hence Revell coming out to cause a distraction, preventing Blaze from saving his partner. But the crowd definitely had a negative response to the use of the foreign object for the win.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/QuentinQueen_zps48bc7227.jpg VS http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/RileyMcManus_zpsc9951795.jpg

Quentin Queen VS Riley McManus

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Quentin Queen defeated Riley McManus in 8:02 by pinfall with a Q-Ball.

Match Rating E

Queen, along with Laine, was an unknown. He had a top training pedigree, coming from the TCW dojo, but TCW never brought him on the roster. So now its time to figure out just what I have here. Is he going to be a rising star like Youngman is, wildly inconsistent like Laine is turning out, or just someone who is average. While it's way to early to really evaluate, the just average seems to be in the lead after watching this match.

Ernest Youngman and Rayne Man w\ Dharma Gregg VS Bob Casey and Irwin Gutmann w\ Roxy Kitten

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Ernest Youngman and Rayne Man defeated Irwin Gutmann and Bob Casey in 11:42 when Rayne Man defeated Irwin Gutmann by pinfall with a Rayne Drop.

Match Rating D

Rayne Man gets a solid win, and Youngman gets a one up on Gutmann in their building feud in what has been the best match on the main show so far.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/DharmaGregg_zps3f559269.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/RoxyKitten_zps79a35617.jpg

After the match is over, Dharma is in the ring celebrating the victory of her client and his partner, when Roxy sneaks in from behind, and rips her blouse off, leaving Dharma standing in the ring in just her bra and skirt! Roxy rolls out the ring and tosses the blouse into the crowd as she and her team head up the ramp while Youngman shields Dharma with his arms and begins taking her out of the ring.

Rating E+

That would have gone over bigger back in BSC, but it still got a pop from the crowd, proving once again that sex sells. It also demonstrates that the feud isn't just between Youngman and Gutmann, but between their managers as well.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/JoshJones_zps33bc926b.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ChloeDean_zpsd67be895.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ThomasMorgan_alt1.jpg

Chloe Dean and Josh Jones comes down to the ring. Dean grabs a microphone and says

Dean: " Morgan! You're days of ducking my client are about to be over! I went over your head and petitioned the board of directors for TPW and they agreed that Josh Jones is a contender for the Trademark Championship and that you will need to accept his challenge for a shot at the title!"

Thomas Morgan then comes out from the entrance ramp, a mic in his hand as well

Morgan: " Yes, I spoke with the board after your petition, and yes, they did name Jones a contender for my belt, meaning he will get a title shot. If, that is, he can beat a man of my choosing to prove his worth! You see, the board agreed with my claim that Jones has yet to really defeat a top competitor in TPW, so if he wants that title shot, he is going to have to earn it tonight!. Oh, and Chloe, if he loses, Jones will never have a title shot while I am champion! And I will be champion for a long, long time because I..am...better...than...all of you!"

Morgan then exits back through the curtain, leaving Josh Jones and Chloe Dean in the ring awaiting to see who this opponent would be.

Rating E ( Dean's promo)

Rating D- ( Morgan's reply)

Josh Jones VS Mountie Mann

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Josh Jones defeated Mountie Mann in 11:45 by pinfall with a Canadian Backdrop.

Match Rating E+

Next step in the main storyline takes place as Jones overcomes Mountie Mann. I had always envisioned this step in the story, but before this point, it would probably have been Reid in the spot, or perhaps someone I could have gotten on a one appearance contract, as Reid has proven not so good in the ring. But with our expansion earlier than I originally thought possible, I was able to grab someone who was superior for the role, while giving us another upper level heel to utilize permanently on the roster.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ThomasMorgan_alt1.jpg

After the match is over, 'Trademark' Thomas Morgan comes out to the ring.

Morgan: " So, JOnes managed to eek out a victory. So hard to get good help these days. Well, not that it really matters. It's not like he will ever beat me anyways, or ever be able to take this title from around my waist for one simple reason. I...am...better...than...him! Just like I am better than you! And, for those who think this is just a boast, I will prove it once again as I put my title on the line against the person who has given me the toughest fight of anyone so far, someone far superior to Josh Jones!

Cal Sanders, my opponent from last month, who has come closer than anyone to actually being able to compete with me. But in the end I will leave this arena still the Trademark Champion for the very simple reason, I...AM...BETTER...THAN...YOU!"

Rating D

My persona is getting some solid heat from the audience. Granted some may see it as self serving that I have positioned myself as the top heel, but then that's the point of why i started TPW in the first place. To prove to all those that overlooked me for all those years that I was capable of being the top heel and being able to headline and be successful at it. And while every promotion depends on the success of more than one wrestler, when you look back, its always one name that is the foundation the others built on. My legacy will be complete when TPW is a promotion that has stood the test of time, and when people look back, they remember me as being that foundation.

Cal Sanders VS Thomas Morgan© for the TPW Trademark Championship

In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Thomas Morgan defeated Cal Sanders in 20:19 by submission with a STF after interference from Buzz Reid. Thomas Morgan makes defence number 3 of his Trademark Championship title.

Match Rating D+

I admit going to the well again in order to cap off the show strong.Although I did portray myself as being vulnerable by needing the interference of Reid in order to pull out the victory. Once again the crowd enjoyed the match, but didn't respond so well to the interference.

OVERALL SHOW D

Another strong show, and the audience stayed about the same as the previous month, which was a good sign in that we hadn't lost new fans ( or at least had attracted enough new fans to cover any that weren't hooked after last month). Our popularity and buzz on the websites were continuing to rise, although there was definitely a negative reaction to the interference in the matches. It looks like i will need to work around that in other ways to advance storylines at some points. But all in all, things were still looking up for TPW.

OOC: Thanks to Boltinho for the promotion logo

<p>May 1st 2013</p><p> </p><p>

As I looked over the financials in my apartment in Ontario, it looked like we were making another profit this month as well, to the tune of about 1500. Enough so that we were growing our available funds in the bank, but not enough to where I felt we could add any more people, and certainly not another show in the month, either in Ontario or elsewhere. While I would like to get either a couple shows a month, that was going to be down the road. Also of interest was a phone call I got earlier yesterday that tied into a bit of news making its way around the industry. </p><p> </p><p>

It seems that NYCW icon Steve Flash has opened a company in the Tri-State area called PWC -Phoenix Wrestling Company. Steve is one of the bigger names in the regional circuit that never made it to the really big time, despite being one of the best in ring workers in North America. I remember seeing him in CGC and NOTBPW back when I was breaking into the business, where he was winning tag titles. Then he was a player in the East Coast wars before finally settling NYCW where he's been a big fish in a small pond.</p><p> </p><p>

But what really surprised me is that it's be rumored he plans to mold PWC into another resurrection of DAVE, ie an ultra hardcore/cult type of icon with dangerous matches designed to bring in the younger male audience. While Philly and the Tri-State area has a strong hardcore tradition, PSW already works that angle, and besides, I never saw hardcore as being what Flash was good at. But what really brought this to my attention was the call yesterday from Joffy Laine. It seems he got an offer from Flash to come work for them as well, and just wanted to give me a heads up as he planned on taking it. I told him I had no problem with it. Laine wasn't vital to any plans of mine and the more work the kid got, the better for him, and probably us. I just don't see him as a hardcore wrestler either. I've seen hte names he is bringing in and its a good mix of solid regional wrestlers and brawlers. And it looks like he has some solid financial backing, at least stronger than I had to be bringing in guys I probably can't afford. But we'll have to see how it plays out. All I can say is I wish him the best of luck.</p>

<p>Sat week 2 , May 2013</p><p> </p><p>

I usually get down to the Windsor Arena Hall about an 6 hours before the show, just to make sure there aren't any hiccups with the promotion vendors or seating, etc. This time I was surprised to actually see people still in line to get tickets! Normally people have been able to walk up and buy a ticket all the way until the show starts, and we haven't had enough fans to actually form a line, but as I walked in, I saw at least thirty people waiting at the ticket booth! That gave me a nice rush to know that we were generating more interest after the last couple of shows, and hoping that the show tonight would continue generating that buzz. </p><p> </p><p>

It was about four hours later when the wrestlers themselves began to arrive. There were still a handful of people outside, getting tickets, and watching the wrestlers come in.</p><p>

There would be some shouts of encouragement, or the occasional boos for a guy playing a heel. Usually, the wrestlers would either smile at the fans, slap hands, or sign a couple autographs, depending on the person. Some of the guys working heel gimmicks would scowl at the fans or yell out a couple low level insults, but if they were getting booed, it meant they were doing their jobs and getting the fans involved. But occasionally you get someone that, face or heel, doesn't interact with the fans, or takes the verbal abuse a little too personal. Like my usual problem child, Irwin Gutmann. Irwin is very unapproachable and antisocial in the locker room. While this translates into a decent heel persona, it has set the locker room off against him, and while he was coming in today, the fans were giving him crap and yelling insults. Most guys playing heel take this as praise for their characters, but Gutmann decided to take it personally and got in the face of one boisterous fan. The yelling got louder and louder, to where I could hear it in my office near the entrance. I got out there in time to prevent anything physical happening, but it looked like Gutmann was getting ready to assault the fan!</p><p>

Lawsuits being the last thing I needed, Cal and I grabbed Gutmann's arms and dragged him into the arena. We dropped him off in my office, where I told Sanders to shut the door on his way out. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong><em><span style="color:#FF0000;">Morgan " Gutmann, that's three incidents you have caused in only 4 shows here! I don't know what your problems are in relating to others and I really don't care! But since talking to you hasn't gotten the message through your head, then I'll try something a little more direct! That stunt outside just cost you 25% of your appearance fee tonight!</span></em></strong></p><p><strong><em><span style="color:#FF0000;">

If it happens again, your future in this promotion is going to get very dark! Am I making myself clear?!"</span></em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

Gutmann, in an impassive monotone <strong><em>" I'll try not to let it happen again. Can I go now?"</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><em><span style="color:#FF0000;">Morgan: " Yeah, get out and quit causing problems! You have a great opportunity here. You are talented, and getting a prime spot in our second biggest storyline. But unless this shit stops and stops now, you will be out on your ass! You aren't so valuable to me that I can't afford to cut you loose, get me!?"</span></em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><em>Gutmann: " Yeah, boss."</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

Gutmann got up and headed to the locker room, not looking at any of the others, and not talking to anyone but Roxy.</p>

<strong>Match Rating E+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>An okay match, given it was basically a training match while the crowd, which actually filled the arena this time, filed in. Laine has moments where he looks like a rising star. Unfortunately, he has even more moments where he looks like an inexperienced kid who barely knows what he is doing out there. That inconsistency is keeping me from giving him more of an investment at this time.</em></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Ben Williams defeated Outlaw Wes Revell in 8:15 by pinfall.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Match Rating F+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>As time goes by, while I'll never really understand why I never got an opportunity before this, I begin to understand why others didn't. Revell is just beginning his career, so he can be excused as he's still learning the ropes, but Ben has been working for eight years now. While I don't expect a lot from him, I do expect better than this. Like actually being able to go more than five minutes without gassing out. Ben isn't some huge heavyweight having to carry around a massive body. He's a scrawny kid who wouldn't crack 180 on a scale if you filled his pockets with lead. He has no reason, other than never expecting to be in a match more than 5 minutes, to be this out of shape.</em></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Match Rating D</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Even though this was mostly a training match, I was concerned that Gutmann would dog it in the ring, considering I had just chewed his ass out two hours ago and fined him 25% of his paycheck this month. But whatever issues he has backstage, in the ring he is crisp and professional.</em></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

A video package plays on a large screen on the wall of the Arena Hall, showing the interactions between Youngman and Gutmann over the past few months, and also the confrontations between their managers Dharma and Roxy. The video lingers a little bit over where Dharma got her top pulled off last month, eliciting a good pop from the mostly male fans.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating E</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>I was hoping for more fans showing up after our last couple of shows ( although I wasn't expecting us to go from 40% full to a sellout!) so I had the guys who film our shows for DVD sales put together a short package to get any new fans up to speed on the Youngman\Gutmann and their managers feud.</em></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Ernest Youngman and American Cobras defeated Irwin Gutmann and The Atlantic Connection in 8:29 when Ernest Youngman defeated Curtis Jenkins by pinfall.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Match Rating D</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Youngman stands out as usual, but everyone in the ring shows their worth. Originally, Gutmann was going to pin one of the Cobras to get the win, and even up his feud with Youngman somewhat. <strong>Match Rating D</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>A solid match, mostly due to the skill of Sanders. <strong>Match Rating E+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

'Trademark' Thomas Morgan comes down to the ring then, with the title over his shoulder.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><em><span style="color:#FF0000;">Morgan: " Seems you've been a busy girl there, Chloe. But don't fret your hippy blonde head, your boy here is going to get his title match tonight. And then you are going to have to live with what I do to him. I was trying to save him the embarrasment to himself and his career when I beat the crap out of him, but you kept pushing and pushing so now it will be all your fault when he finishes tonight, beaten, bloody, and flat on the mat once again as a loser because whether you like it or not, I am better than him and I am better than all of you!"</span></em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating E </strong>( Dean's promo)</p><p>

<strong>Rating D-</strong> ( Morgan's response)</p><p> </p><p>

<em>While Jones is dreadful on the mic, hence the manager, Chloe Dean really hasn't gotten a lot of heat for her client despite the build up over the past few months. Fortunately, I have gotten somewhat better heat as the heel champion.</em></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Josh Jones w\ Chloe Dean VS 'Trademark' Thomas Morgan © for the TPW Trademark Championship</strong></p><p> </p><p>

In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Josh Jones drew with Thomas Morgan in 20:30 following a double count out.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Match Rating D-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>A decent main event, although not as good as the ones between Sanders and myself the preceeding months. Seeing how the reaction was so negative last month to outside interference in our matches, I elected to go with the inconclusive finish of both of us getting counted out while fighting outside the ring to extend the feud another month.</em></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="font-size:12px;">OVERALL SHOW D-</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Not as good as the preceding months, as the main event wasn't quite as strong, but still, it was a good card for our first sellout in the Windsor Hall and, from the fansites and forums in the following days, we were still generating a positive buzz and still gaining popularity. That didn't mean there weren't still problems to overcome and issues to be surmounted, but overall, we had come a lot farther in a short time than I could have ever imagined.</em></p></div><p></p><p></p>

<p>Saturday week 2 june 2013</p><p> </p><p>

At the Windsor Arena Hall two hours before the show.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

I was in my office again, with the usual last minute details. With the increased gate from the sellout last month, we had cleared almost $4000 in profit, giving us almost $15k in the bank. Enough for a couple of months of breathing room if nothing else, and a far cry from the first month when I had 2500 to cover operationg costs, and a few thousand from the sponsors to pay the workers. We had grown a lot faster than I had imagined, selling out the Windsor in only five months. While I was briefly enjoying the fact that it looked like another sellout tonight, my reverie was disturbed by shouting coming from the locker room again. I got up almost dreading what I was going to find.</p><p> </p><p>

Sure enough, Gutmann had antagonized someone else in the locker room, this time it was Curtis Jenkins. Gutmann could probably break Jenkins in half with his submissions, but Jenkins partner McManus would then jump in, and the last thing i wanted or needed was open warfare.</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><em>Morgan: " OK you guys break it up! McManus, take Jenkins into the showers and have him cool off! Gutmann, in the office, now!"</em></strong></span></p><p> </p><p>

Once we were in the office, with the door slammed shut after I followed Gutmann in.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><em><span style="color:#FF0000;">Morgan: " Obviously, I wasn't clear enough for you last month! So let me make it crystal for you! THis is the third time in three months you have caused problems in the locker room! Not only are you fined 25% of your appearance fee again, which btw the childrens hospital thanks you for your generosity, but let this sink into your head.</span></em></strong></p><p><strong><em><span style="color:#FF0000;">

This is your last chance. Period. If I have a problem with you again this year, you are gone! Do you understand me?"</span></em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><em>Gutmann: " Yes boss, I understand. I'll try not to let it happen again."</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><em><span style="color:#FF0000;">Morgan: " Don't try! Do it! Unless not having a steady paycheck appeals to you somehow. Now get the hell out of my office and stop causing problems!"</span></em></strong></p>

<strong>Match Rating D-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Blaze has quietly impressed in most of his outings. Roxy Kitten, wearing a black chemise top and black demin skirt, is walking backstage when, as she turns around a corner, Dharma Gregg evens the score between them and tosses a bucket of water on her, totally drenching her face and the front of her chest. Dharma walks away laughing as Roxy stands there, dripping wet and sputtering angrily for someone to bring her a towel. The final scene before fading centers on Roxy's face and chest, and the drenched chemise hangs in such a way to make it clear that Roxy wore nothing else underneath it.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>While the skills of Sanders and popularity of Rayne have something to do with this, The Atlantic Connection have proven to be the best in ring of the three established teams we got. <em>Easily the best match of the night, and probably the second best match in TPW's short history. Those of you who have watched these dvd's and heard my commentaries after the matches have heard me speak about my legacy. My legacy is more than just what I accomplish in the industry, or what TPW accomplishes. It's guys like Youngman and Gutmann. I am </em></p><p><em>

pretty good in the ring. Thats fact, not bragging, as you don't graduate the House of Stone without being an accomplished mat technician. But Youngman is better than I am in terms of technical skills and Gutmann, at least in pure wrestling, may be even better still. He lacks the ability to connect to the fans that Youngman has though. Youngman, as it has become clear, is most likely to be the biggest breakout star of our current roster, and part of my legacy will be that I and TPW gave him his start, his chance to prove his skills. Gutmann has that same chance to rise to a higher level, and it frustrates me that he lets his attitude and antisocialness jeopardize that.</em></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Anyway, Ms Dean made an oral presentation to the board of directors in order to make tonights Trademark title match a cage match. Hope you didn't wear out your kneepads during your 'presentation' to the board members Chloe, but it won't matter. I don't need any help to win my matches. I don't need any 'loopholes' to keep my title. All you have done is ensure that Jones has no way to escape the beating he will suffer before I lock in the STF and make your meal ticket tap out! <strong>Josh Jones w\ Chloe Dean VS Thomas Morgan© for the Trademark Championship in a Cage match.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Match Rating D-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Back when I first formed TPW, Jones was the best fit for an initial money feud. Our growth, being faster than I ever expected, changed that with the additions of people like Sanders and Rayne Man, but as I had already put in a couple of months of build towards it, I didn't see the sense of starting over. So this initial feud comes to an end. It was a decent feud and a decent blow off match, but not as good as I would have liked, given that the crowd was pretty pumped for it after all the build. Jones is a promising young talent, but he still has work to do to advance to this level again. Still, it was good exposure for him that helped build his name a little more in the region and now that this feud is basically done, I can move on to laying the groundwork for another one that will hopefully keep the momentum we have built going.</em></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>OVERALL D-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

I really like the way you present the shows.

Irwin Gutmann seems to be a real pain when it comes to his backstage behaviour. It'll be interesting to see how this develops and if you can change his attitude. He seems to be quite talented, so firing him is not an easy thing to do.

I guess Youngman will be the next contender of Morgan?

Loving This.

Good show man keep up the good work!

Quick question for you, who made your TPW championship for you?

Great job as always, your diaries are consistently top notch. Youngman is a stud, he is a superstar in the making.

Loving this. Keep it up.

Push Mountie Mann to the moon!

Thanks for all the words of support for the diary. As I haven't written one in almost 2 years, it's nice that I can come back and get this level of support.

Actually , while it would probably be some really good matches, I am bringing along Youngman a little more slowly ( since the new series lets me sign 3 year contracts as opposed to 9 month ones. ) So while he will no doubt be challenging for the title in the future ( barring one of the big companies stealing him) I have other plans for the short term as he provides a lot of value in providing a strong mid card or semi main match.

July 2nd 2013

Going over the financials before the fourth of July holiday, I saw we had turned another profit of over $4k. . Now that the program with Jones had ended, I could use someone to help give us a solid main event while I started setting up the next main event feud. While I knew Sanders and I could turn in a good match, we had already done that twice recently and I didn't want to go to that wel too often or the fans weren't going to want to see it, so I needed some fresh matchups. I liked the size of our roster currently, so I didn't want to add more people long term, but our profits were such that I could afford to spend a little more than I normally would to bring in someone who at least had some name recognition for a couple of shows. Not a really big name, as I didn't want to deal with unreasonable demands, but someone who would be credible enough to main event.

After a few calls I was able to come to a deal with a guy who had spent almost a decade in one of the biggest promotions in America. He never rose above the midcard, and was primarily a tag wrestler, but he had won a few tag titles, and although he had been working Independent shows in America the last three or four years. After the agreements were signed and faxed, I had the guy who ran our promotion website put up the announcement that

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/FordGumble-1_zps5f301b05.jpg

Ford Gumble would be making special appearances for Trademark Pro Wrestling for the next few shows and had issued a challenge to the Trademark Champion for the title.

Later that day, I was browsing through the main websites for news around the industry when the story broke that Sam Strong had stepped down from USPW and retired from the industry completely. The story indicated he had sold his majority share to Dean Daniels. I knew Dean a little, having broke into the industry around the same time he did, and crossing his path a few times at independent shows in the 90's. That was before he had gone to Japan and some moderate success with WLW and GCG. I admit I was surprised that Daniels ended up the new owner. I would have expected Strong to leave it to his daughter Alicia, or had Danny Jillefski take over, or maybe one of their former stars like one of the Warlords or Demons. Anyway, it was going to be interesting to see how USPW was going to fare from this point on. It was pretty much fact that Strong's name and business acumen had provided the boost UsPW had gotten the past few years, and garnered the big names that had come in. I didn't see Daniels as having that kind of sway to keep USPW firmly challenging TCW, let alone SWF for supremacy in the United States.

Ford Gumble is an interesting signing. I actually kind of like him but in American based promotions I have often found that he´s skills doesn´t warrant the kind of money he´s asking. Still I hope he does well here even if it´s just a short visit.

Actually, his cost, even though it makes him the highest paid person on my roster while he's here, is only a couple hundred above the other main eventers. So its quite affordable for me.

That´s actually quite suprising to me since he seems to have E+ overness in Canada which looks to be quite much more than any other guy you had hired so far. Then again my experience from Gumble is from 2010 so maybe he´s better option this time around. :o

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, The Atlantic Connection defeated American Cobras in 8:26 when Curtis Jenkins defeated Marvel Malloy by pinfall with a Fisherman's Suplex.

Match Rating D

Two of my three tags teams square off to give both teams more experience. I find it interesting that these two teams, although not as well known as the Good Ol Boys, routinely produce better in the ring.

Ben Williams VS Buzz Reid VS Joffy Laine

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Buzz Reid defeated Ben Williams and Joffy Laine in 7:38 when Buzz Reid defeated Joffy Laine by pinfall with a Termination Slam.

Match Rating E

None of the three had a match on the main show, so they face each other here to get some work. All three men have significant downsides that make me not want to push them, but they also have positive qualities that make me keep them employed. Williams has no gas tank, getting tired after a few minutes, but he is an experienced seller of others offense. Reid is probably the worst in ring performer on our roster right now, but has undeniable menace and great heel qualities, and Laine is probably the most inconsistent performer on the roster, but also one of the most complete in terms of skill and charisma when he can put it together. As that has been very rare, he remains mired as a curtain jerker for now.

Finally, Morgan calls forth each girl and the fans in attendance vote on the winner by their cheers. Although it is close, Dharma recieves the loudest reaction and wins.

Rating D-

Basically providing some fanservice to the crowd.Dharma and Roxy are very familiar with this from their years in BSC ( and being former strippers) and while it's not Chloe's usual cup of tea, she's a good sport about it as well.

Cal Sanders & Rayne Man VS Good Ol Boys

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Cal Sanders and Rayne Man defeated Good Ole Boys in 11:39 when Rayne Man defeated Thimbleby Langton by pinfall with a Rayne Drop.

Match Rating D-

Our main eventers get a win over what is supposedly our top tag team. When I originally hired them, I though that the Good Ol Boys could be one of the foundations of a tag team division when ( or if) we got large enough to be able to have enough wrestlers to actually have a division, but time and again they prove why they aren't still in PSW.

They are still an experienced, decent team, but probably not a leading team like I was originally hoping.

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Mountie Mann and Irwin Gutmann defeated Ernest Youngman and Quentin Queen in 12:22 when Irwin Gutmann defeated Quentin Queen by submission with a Tiger Sleeper.

Match Rating D+

Best match of the night so far, which is no surprise given that Youngman and Gutmann are in the match. It would probably have been even better but the Mann team didn't work together very well, and Queen was a little off in his performance tonight.Gutmann gets a reward for not causing problems by getting the victory.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ThomasMorgan_alt1.jpg

'Trademark' Thomas Morgan comes out to the ring.

Morgan: " Well, normally at this time, I would have a match against some challenger who thinks he can take this belt off my waist, and I would just have to prove one more time that I am better than them, just like I am better than all of you. But since I have already beaten everybody, I guess I get to take the night off..."

Right then, Morgan is interrupted as Chloe Dean comes out with a microphone in hand.

http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/ChloeDean_zpsd67be895.jpghttp://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n329/Dragonmack/FordGumble-1_zps5f301b05.jpg

Dean: " While it is true that my client Josh Jones is no longer eligible for a title shot since you defeated him last month in the cage, the board agreed with me that the Trademark title is too important to not be defended. So, since a suitable challenger hasn't risen from the ranks of TPW at this moment, the board allowed me to seek someone outside of our roster to provide a worthy opponent. And here he is, one half of the former multi-time TCW tag championship team of the Young Guns, Ford Gumble!"

Morgan: " Now just a minute Chloe! This is my company and I am the one who hires and fires the wrestlers who works here, and that man doesn't have a contract with TPW! Therefore he doesn't have a right to be in this arena, much less get a shot at my title!"

Dean: " That's not quite true Morgan. You see, while you do have the power to determine who gets hired as a permanent part of the TPW roster of wrestlers, the board does retain the rights to provide temporary 'special attraction' contracts, such as the one that was granted to Ford Gumble here. So he does get to be here, he does get to challenge you for the title, and if you refuse the challenge, the board also retains the right to strip you of that title! And one more thing, when Gumble beats you for the belt, as champion, he will be offered a permanent contract, that not even you will be able to deny."

Morgan: " That will never happen! Enjoy your momentary victory Chloe, because it will turn to ash when I beat your ringer there in the middle of my ring, because one more time I will prove that I...am...better....than...all...of...you!"

Rating E- ( Chloe's challenge)

Ford Gumble w\ Chloe Dean VS Thomas Morgan © for the Trademark Championship

In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Ford Gumble drew with Thomas Morgan in 20:02 following a double disqualification.

Match Rating D-

The match got thrown out after both of us ended up clotheslining the referee when he got in the middle. He was out of it for a few moments, and when he came to, he had the bell rung and disqualified both of us. Although it was a solid main event, it didn't come off as well as I hoped, as the match lost some flow in the middle.

OVERALL SHOW D-

Gumble's appearance didn't provide quite the boost I was hoping, but it was still another good show that was increasing our buzz on the forums and the industry websites, and, now that there was a little more build, next month's show would hopefully have a better result.

August 2nd 2013

While the addition of Ford Gumble as a special attraction didn't boost the show itself like I hoped, it did have a positive effect in another way. A couple of our initial sponsors roped in some of their business friends to also provide sponsorship to us, as apparently they were impressed that we could get someone with an actual track record in TCW to work for us, even for a limited time. The extra sponsorship money meant we brought in over $12k in profits for July. With the sponsorship money being almost twice what it was last month, and four times as much as when I started, I felt confident enough to go with two shows in August. Even if it resulted in a loss, with over 30k in the bank now, I had a margin to work with, and if we could still turn a profit, being able to do two shows a month would not only grow our promotion faster, it would give our workers more opportunities to improve ( and more paydays, which you know would make them happy!)

However, doing two shows, if it was profitable, could create some other issues. While we might be able to afford two shows with our current overhead, adding more wrestlers would mean increased overhead, and that we probably couldn't afford. But more shows would mean a need for more fresh matches so the crowd didn't feel they were seeing the same thing each time. We needed incentive for the people to want to come out twice a month ( or at least a full arenas worth of different people each month). And the other elephant in the room was the fact that 4C was home based out of Ontario as well as us. That wasn't an issue starting out, as we were too small for them to bother with, and all the workers I had contacted were ones who were only working independents, but we were growing faster than I expected. Something running two shows a month would probably accelerate. I really didn't want to deal with a promotion war, especially when I didn't have the advantage. But as I thought about it, there was one possibility that might solve both problems.

Total Extreme Wrestling.Com, your leading source for all the news in the wrestling world, has learned today that Trademark Pro Wrestling, the relatively new promotion headed by Thomas Morgan, has signed an agreement today to join the Confederation of the Territories, partnering with current members 4C, NYCW,CZCW,MAW and OLLIE to promote the success of all companies involved.

As I sat back in my chair at home and read the news story on the website, I had a little bit of satisfaction. Not only that the other owners, like Troy Winner, Cliff Anderson, Sam Keith, etc felt we were worthy enough to be part of this territorial alliance, but in that it neatly resolved two of my more pressing concerns. Being able to trade talent with several other promotions would allow me to have fresh matchups and get my guys extra work periodically, and with 4C part of the COTT, it ensured that us and them could work together, even if we continued to grow in size and prestige. While the situation could change in the future, for now I felt a lot more secure in our ability to survive the long run.
