Genadi, i'm usually a fan of your work...but this mod...this mod...let's just say it like it is: Old main eventers, drug users, backstage jerks, backstage problems, millions spent in paychecks, confusion all the way...and i could go on! Good work mate, you reproduced 2001's WCW perfectly! Without a question you best work ever! Cheers mate! <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I'm getting my shows rated at mid sixties. I guess it's normal, considering WCW's situation. Men, this company is a mess right now. Anyone else having headaches on how to book these guys? <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

<p>Amen.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm in July now. I had started by editing some things and because I'm an nwo mark and I brought in hogan and hall and ran with them in the beginning of my game. Surprise surprise my backstage morale was down to like 20% which combined with losing money has put me down to 8M over 2 months. </p><p> </p><p>

Well I finally had to pull the plug on the original nwo and fired all three for a pricetag of 1.8M. That's gonna hurt at the end of the month. I ended up putting the strap on goldberg at GAB and I recently turned Flair and Booker heel and it'll be Flair-Goldberg (World) and booker-DDP (US). Sting and Vampiro have been giving me pretty good marks in their storyline and Sting deserves a medal for not complaining one bit about putting him over on a PPV. Also brought in hawk and put tag belts on road warriors and they're actually putting on "good" matches with team canada and even Jarrett and S. Steiner who have good tag chem as partners.</p><p> </p><p>

I tend to run 5 matches on my 90 min nitro, put 5-6 minute angles at the beginning (a video of 3 on 3 where I name my 6 top guys), between the matches, and an attack or brawl to end the show. Then I do a 30 man dark battle royal every show and nobody complains about being left off.</p><p> </p><p>

Once I get my fiscal house in order I think I'll finally be able to make some progress.</p>

Already have tv and ppv deals, i'm airing Nitro on Mondays but I couldn't sign Hogan as he deemed my company too small. How did you pull that one off? Editing?</p>

Yea I put him on our roster, deleted a bunch of starting injuries, changed hall's contract from NJPW to WCW. I also went in and edited the couple of big PPV companies in US, UK, Japan that I always sign with to be high risk. I tried to do a simple ladder match in a previous game and the japanese company blocked me so hell with that. I have Nitro on TNN on Wed evenings.

Flair gave me my best match so far, a 72 vs. Booker T, but all my angles seem to bomb.</p><p> </p><p> Edit: You fired Nash, Hall and Hogan? Why? And how did you lose 8 million??</p>

<p>I lost 1.7M the first month because all I had was slamboree with no TV show ticket sales and when I cut some initial dead weight, opened the power plant, and filled it with new talent that ran it up. </p><p> </p><p>

My second month only lost me 300k because I did great with ticket sales (make sure you pay attention to where the game is sending you. I had to fight it for 3 straight shows not to do a show in hawaii). But firing the nWo cost me basically 1.8M so I'm sitting around 6.6 right now if I'm thinking straight. I fired them because they kept causing trouble backstage.</p>

I always have my shows home (South East iirc, because I want to make money and have the highest grade possible). One of Bischoff's owner goals is to rise to national in the first 2 years, which seems to be getting harder by the minute.</p>

<p>My TV shows run B- or B range. Coming off a really hot Starcade that had a B+ Main Event match between Goldberg and Flair, with Flair winning.</p><p> </p><p>

Spam those guys if you kept the Bischoffs Mainstream. Once they get over enough. Their matches and angles will get carried even with lower workers just because of how over they are. Heck, in a random throw off match between CM Punk and Flair in late November Flair pulled Punk to a B rated match (Punk has overness in the E's) </p><p> </p><p>

Also, I lose about 50k/month if I don't make any cuts or anything. I think I can drop that number if I make sure to double check where my shows are running and not getting booked where I can't draw a crowd. I'm not worried about the financial loss however, since I can go for a very long time losing 50k/month and eventually some of these bigger contracts will wind up phasing themselves out and might not re-sign because if I can't hit national I'll be "too small."</p>

What does that mean? Yeah, I kept the Bischoff Mainstream, but every angle I do with my ME's seems to bomb, and the matches are only slightly better. I'm beginning to think that my preshow, where I use the lower popular guys might be affecting my crowd for the actual tv show tapings.</p>

I will become feared after delivering dozens of suspensions, fines, last chances, and maybe even some firings. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> But yeah, the low morale is definitely helping to burry my match grades.</p>

<p>Also, keep in mind how the show ratings break down. In all honesty, I worry mostly only about my Main Event's and Semi's. same with my top 2 angles. After that, I book the way I want, especially in terms of development. Just because the angles bomb due to low popularity, if it's not one of your 2 best angles, it won't hurt you too bad.</p><p> </p><p>

Modern TV Opening- B</p><p>

Ric Flair promo- B+</p><p>

Lower midcard promo- D-</p><p>

Midcarder backstage brawl w/ another midcarder- D</p><p>

Uppermidcard angle with lower midcard, C</p><p> </p><p>

I changed my shows to 80% matches, 20% angles. I know I can push my shows anywhere from 10-30% angles now. With an hour and a half TV show that means I only need 9-27 minutes of angles. Using that, remember how shows are broken down for the final grade. Although there are a lot of angles that didn't do too hot, they only make up 3% of the overall show grade so even though they tank, it doesn't really hurt anything. This logic requires me understanding how show grade break down but I think that's right. If 30% of your show is angles, the top angle is worth 70% of the 30%overall, the 2nd is worth 20% of the 30%overall, and the rest are only adding up to the final 10% of the 30%overall.</p>

So booking 3 or 4 cruiserweight matches would be an overkill.</p>

Playing mods such as this make me realize one thing...Overness needs to be really balanced out. Part of the problem I'm running in to is the game constantly wants to book me in small venues outside the US (I'm playing as WCW who are cult at the start) because my overness implies to the game I should be trying to maintain my popularity there. You can argue that WCW would have been decently popular outside the states, starting with C's in Mexico, D+ in Japan and C- in parts of Europe throws the game off. Maybe I'm wrong and WCW was fine toward the end, but it shouldn't be trying to go to these areas when it is cult in its own game area.

Don't get me wrong, still loving the mod, this is just constructive criticism on my part.

I think it's good, but it's a question of opinion. Besides you can always go to the menu and ask the game to pick the best venue in the states.

Right, you can, but the AI won't. Sure, I guess this is for people who want to play as WCW, so more times than not it is the user and not the AI picking venues but still. It'll tank your financials for the month too if you forget to move your event to the states. I can almost assuredly promise you though that in early 2001, WCW wasn't trying to do anything but regain its NA fan base.

Haven't thought about it like that. Maybe you've got a point there, maybe it's a game thing rather then a mod thing.
