The Boston Celtics trade SG Billy Knight to the Los Angeles Clippers for SG Butch Carter and the Clippers 1985 1st round pick.

Reason for trade - Knight is still a solid blue rating, he's getting up their in age, the Celtics have Paul Pressey who is a solid blue himself waiting to take over the SG spot in the lineup. Carter is a green/blue player, so he will be a valuable asset off the bench. The Clippers add another scorer to try and win another NBA crown.

The Boston Celtics trade PG Kyle Macy to the Milwaukee Bucks for SF Campy Russell and PG Phil Smith.

Reason for trade - With the Celtics drafting Terry Porter, there wasn't enough room for two starter quality PGs in Boston, Milwaukee was lacking a true starting PG as Fat Lever just isn't the answer. Phil Smith was their starter for years, but he is getting older and needs to be more of a reserve, he will fit perfectly as a mentor to Porter. Campy Russell is another veteran who can be a good backup up to Dominique.

Final standings

Nothing drastic changed from midseason on. Warriors finished another disappointing season. I think there will be a major trade happen with them in the offseason like trading Clyde Drexler. It's obvious the Sampson/Drexler/Jordan 3 heads of doom just isn't working and the Warriors trading away Jordan would be stupid and Sampson is a great center, they are harder to come by.

I'm looking at the Bulls, Bucks, and 76ers who could potentially use him.

With the Nuggets season in the toilet and Dantley getting up there in years, the Nuggets are looking to rebuild and also give Dantley another shot at the elusive NBA Championship. After much internal debate within the organization, the Nuggets traded the 7 time MVP to the Milwaukee Bucks for Michael Ray Richardson and the Bucks 1987 and 1988 1st round picks.

Denver gets a good defensive specialist and two 1st round picks to build for the future. Milwaukee gets the all time leading scorer in NBA history and 7 time MVP who is still playing at top speed and the scoring threat they needed to pair with Patrick Ewing.

Man, the Bulls got fleeced HARD. In the 1987 offseason, they traded their 1988 1st round pick to the Kings of Bill Laimbeer. The reasoning was simple, the Bulls have been a constant playoff team and they needed another solid center and the Kings had 3 of them, so realistically it should have ended up a mid 1st round pick, right?

WRONG.

The Bulls ended up being miserable in the 87-88 season, finishing in last place in the division. The Bulls 1st round pick ended up becoming the #1 pick in '88 draft, the Kings didn't do so well themselves and ended up with the #2 pick. So they now have the top two picks in the '88 draft.

The real shit kicker? Bill Laimbeer ruptured his Achilles the first week of the season and missed the rest of the year.

That ended up being one of the worst trades ever in my game.

I've been enjoying reading your dynasty thread. I love seeing what happens with these teams in an "alternate universe." I especially like seeing what players do with teams they never actually played for in real life. I've been playing a historical league starting in 1946, and the results have been quite interesting. I hope you continue to update us!

With Mitch Richmond being the undisputed choice for the #1 pick in the draft and with Calvin Natt still playing at a high level, along with with the Kings having the top 2 picks. The Kings traded the #1 pick to the 76ers for Bob Hansen, the 7th overall pick, and the 76ers 1st round pick next season.

With the 1st pick of the 1988 NBA Draft, the Philadelphia 76ers select Mitch Richmond.
