Trade deadline deal:

The Golden State Warriors traded Chuck Person to the Detroit Pistons for Terry Tyler and Detroit's 1990 1st round pick.

Reason for trade: Person is set to become a free agent at the end of the season and the Warriors would lose him, because Person wants to start and is relegated to the 6th man role. Pistons need an upgrade at the starting SF spot formerly held by Tyler as he is on the downside of his career. Being a perennial playoff team, the Pistons should be able to sign Person to a long term deal. The Warriors get a quality backup for Scottie Pippen in Tyler and a mid round 1st round pick that could help their bench next season.

The West defeated the East in the All Star game. The East was held to 94 points, the fewest points scored in an All Star game since the early years in the early 50s. They shot a miserable 37% from the field.

The Suns Xavier McDaniel won the MVP of the game.

At the trade deadline, the Bullets decided to clean house a little bit...sending Steve Stipanovich to the Celtics for Nick Vanos and the Celtics 1991 1st round pick.

They also traded former 7 time All Star Larry Bird to the Bulls for Tyrone Corbin. Larry Bird has declined and still has 4 years left on his contract while the Bulls need a good scorer from the bench which Bird can provide.

Along with them, they traded former 6 time All Star and former PLayoff MVP Reggie Theus to the Jazz for Jud Buechler and the Jazz's 1991 1st round pick.

They now have 3 1st round picks in the upcoming draft, although the two they received in the trades will be later in the 1st round, but they are clearly looking towards the future.

In real life it happened in the 80s, but it took the early 90s for the Celtics/Lakers to finally meet in the NBA Finals as the 1991 Finals featured the top seeds in both conferences as the Celtics took on the Lakers.

The Lakers won the first two games, but the Celtics fought back and took game three, but it came at the price of losing star forward Dominique Wilkins to a fractured hip. The Celtics could not recover and lost the last two games, losing the series 4 game to 1. Charles Barkley won the Finals MVP award on top of winning his second straight League MVP award.

Timberwolves forward Derrick Coleman won Rookie of the Year.

Rockets center Mike Gminski won his 5th Defensive Player of the Year.

Rockets forward Tom Chambers won his 4th Sixth Man of the Year award.

Nuggets guard Reggie Miller won Most Improved Player.

The Bulls should stop sending their 1st round picks to the Kings, much like the Bill Lambier trade a few seasons ago, the Bulls ended up doing a lot worse than expected and thus the Kings ended up with the 3rd overall pick that was meant for Chicago.

3. Sacramento (From Chicago)

4. Philadelphia

Ugh, I hate Reggie.

Got a question for you.

I started up a 1946 dynasty (only in 1952, took Chicago Stags to 3 titles in 4 years, lost my job after they folded, and just signed to GM a terrible Pistons team).

Anyways, how much have you had to mess with the stat modifiers. First couple of years I had to recalibrate like crazy to get accurate stats for the era. Does that continue?
