SJPW wrestlers comment on upcoming tournament

2013/03/27

Strong Japan Pro Wrestling have published comments from their wrestlers about the recently announces “Strong Japan League” tournament. Six weeks before the first tournament matches, “Armlock Wizard” Sotatsu Sarumara seems to be especially confident.

Strong Style Yoemon: “The tournament has been Amori-san’s idea and I am intrigued. This will be tough and a true test of strenght for everyone. It is five matches in nine days. Every fighter has to be in great physical shape for this. I want to prove that I can still be a top fighter.”

Hidekazu Ohara: “It will be my first tournament among heavyweight wrestlers. I am excited. Working with the young men every day makes me feel ten years younger myself. I clear my mind for this tournament. I don’t think about the results. I will just go out there and wrestle.”

Sotatsu Sarumara: “The Strong Japan League will only be useful to determine our second best wrestler. I helped Yoemon to decide who is worthy of Strong Japan. I have respect for all the boys. But there is no question about the winner of this tournament. I am the number one fighter of Strong Japan Pro Wrestling. I will win every match and go to war with that arrogant prick Saito.”

Kuemon Hotta: “I like the concept of fighting for a ranking. We all turned to Strong Japan to prove we are strong fighters. Now we decide who is truly the strongest. The Strong Japan League will see every fighter go to his limits and it will serve to make everyone a stronger fighter. […] I am in the best shape of my entire career. My goal is to be the number one wolf.”

Hitomaro Suzuki: “I step into the ring, I fight for the victory. I look forward to fighting Sarumara-san. We will not be friends that day.”

Tanyu Toshusai: “These will be the most important fights for me. I will show my love for pro wrestling. I will go out and fight and learn from every opponent. These matches will help me become a true pro wrestler.”

---

SJPW, 2013/05/18
Chiba Inage Gymnasium

1. Strong Japan League: Kuemon Hotta vs Tanyu Toshusai

2. Strong Japan League: Sotatsu Sarumara vs Hitomaro Suzuki

3. Strong Japan League: Hidekazu Ohara vs Strong Style Yoemon

SJPW, 2013/05/20

Maebashi Daiichi JHS Gymnasium

1. Strong Japan League: Sotatsu Sarumara vs Tanyu Toshusai

2. Strong Japan League: Hitomaro Suzuki vs Strong Style Yoemon

3. Strong Japan League: Hidekazu Ohara vs Kuemon Hotta

SJPW, 2013/05/22

Shizuoka Sports Hall

1. Strong Japan League: Tanyu Toshusai vs Strong Style Yoemon

2. Strong Japan League: Hidekazu Ohara vs Hitomaro Suzuki

3. Strong Japan League: Kuemon Hotta vs Sotatsu Sarumara

SJPW, 2013/05/24

Asahi Community Hall

1. Strong Japan League: Hidekazu Ohara vs Tanyu Toshusai

2. Strong Japan League: Kuemon Hotta vs Hitomaro Suzuki

3. Strong Japan League: Sotatsu Sarumara vs Strong Style Yoemon

SJPW, 2013/05/26

Kizaki High School Gymnasium

1. Strong Japan League: Hitomaro Suzuki vs Tanyu Toshusai

2. Strong Japan League: Kuemon Hotta vs Strong Style Yoemon

3. Strong Japan League: Hidekazu Ohara vs Sotatsu Sarumara

---

OOC:

Turns out I won't have much time to spare this week, but then again, that gives everyone the chance to predict match outcomes or simply pick a tournament winner... <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Okay, so I think after all that, that puts Sarumara in the winners seat. Some of the matches I wasn't sure about. Particularly the Suzuki matches. Quick look at the data tells me that despite being a 10 year pro, hes still considered a young lion. Not sure if that last tour bumped him up. Guess we'll have to wait and see. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Toshusai loses his Young Lion status right away, so I expect him to pick up a couple victories in the tournament, to begin a move towards the top of the card. He's also going to be loyal to Strong Japan. That being said, I'm picking Hidekazu Ohara to take the tournament, beating Sarumara on the last night of the tour.

This is a hard one, I'm going to base my picks on the idea that nobody is going to go undefeated and that all the final night matches will have some sort of relevancy. I may be dead wrong, but I guess we'll see what happens.

Sarumara sounded a overly confident in his promo, and I think it'll come back to bite him here as Suzuki scores a big win.

2. Strong Japan League: Kuemon Hotta vs Hitomaro Suzuki

3. Strong Japan League: Sotatsu Sarumara vs Strong Style Yoemon

Oh man! I read this here and thought that it seems like a diary of yours just in English. ^^ I think what is often forgotten in terms of diaries/dynasties is the fact how it is presented aesthetically. It is an easy read and cleary presented so big thumbs up for that. I'm not too much into the C-verse puroresu scene but the SJL sounds like a big deal. I'm eager to see how that works out!

I'll follow!
