<p>So, an update.</p><p> </p><p>

My new charger arrived this afternoon. I've tested it to make sure it works, and my netbook is currently on the charger.</p><p> </p><p>

I am expecting to get called in to work for more office snow duty tomorrow. The plan is to take the netbook with me, run what matches I can given the training I've been given, and try to get a headstart on Wednesday's show while awake overnight.</p><p> </p><p>

Whether that happens is anyone's guess, because of the weather and some bosses being a bit...difficult regarding what is allowed during down time. Barring further problems, though, expect a show on Wednesday night.</p>

Season Seven, Week Seven

Cancun, Mexico

March 5, 2014

THE LEAGUE: SEASON SEVEN, WEEK SEVEN

It's a far cry from their last stop, as The League returns to Mexico for this evening's contests. As seems to be tradition when in Cancun, tonight's show is being held on the beach. With the benefit of an added week off, the ring crew have managed to set up a reasonable facsimile of a traditional League entrance ramp, complete with Jumbotron and the stage. A crowd of three thousand sit in chairs places around the ring, and several thousand more are sitting on the dunes a short distance away. As this sight is being taken in, we cut to ringside and our usual commentary crew...who is short a member tonight.

Bob Sinclair: Good evening, everyone, and welcome to the sandy white beaches of Cancun! Bob Sinclair here at ringside with Frankie Garnett. Tori Montgomery will not be joining us this evening due to being back in the States with the flu.

Frankie Garnett: A likely excuse.

Bob Sinclair: Nonetheless, we have a solid card lined up tonight, with probably our biggest main event of the season to date as the undefeated Celeste Skye takes on Wallbanger Jones.

Frankie Garnett: That's one I've been waiting for two weeks to see...hey, speaking of, why weren't we on last week?

Bob Sinclair: Because the guy who drives the truck carrying the ring and some of the rigging flipped over in Alabama, and there was a delay in getting replacements from headquarters in Chicago due to the weather.

Frankie Garnett: ...Seriously? God, you'd think we hire Department of Transportation rejects with results like that....

Bob Sinclair: With that said, let's go to the ring and get tonight's action under way!

William King (1-4, OVR 303) vs. Sean Lyaskaris (4-2, OVR 317)

The ominous intro of Bloodbath's "The Soulcollector" is heard as the lights dim, and when the lyrics begin William King comes out in his black pleather ring gear and a hoodie, taking his time and circling the ring before rolling in, standing on the second rope and unzipping his hoodie to reveal the tanktop underneath, slipping the jacket off and throwing it at the announcers before dropping into the ring, leaning against the corner.

Amelia Williams: Our opening contest of the evening is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Arkham, Massachusetts, weighing 260 pounds...William King!

Bob Sinclair: Frankie, what do you make of his comments made towards you and needing earplugs in the ring?

Frankie Garnett: Guy can say what he wants. I can say what I want, too. End of discussion.

The anticipation builds as the opening to Dream Theater's "Pull Me Under" hits the arena speakers, causing a few of the lights at the entryway to flash alternately. As the opening builds to a crescendo, he finally makes an appearance, sneering a bit at the assembled audience as he begins his stride to the ring. Focusing his attention on the ring itself, he climbs up the steps and ducks between the ropes, shedding his entrance jacket as he stonily gazes toward the center of the ring.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Charlotte, North Carolina, by way of Osaka, Japan, weighing 230 pounds..."The Gaijin Crippler," Sean Lyaskaris!

Frankie Garnett: Hmmm. New theme music. I kind of like it.

Bob Sinclair: Sean has picked up his form from seasons past, as he enters the night in the Delta Division lead. He could lose it tonight if this match gets away from him, and there's the bell to get us started!

Bob Sinclair: Sean has his body closer to the ropes; King's only hope is to reverse the pressure as the ropes are too far away!

Frankie Garnett: He's trying, Bob! I'm not sure he can do it though!

Bob Sinclair: King almost has Sean over...but Sean gets them back to a neutral state, and bridges up to put even more pain on the knee! King has no choice, there's the tap!

Amelia Williams: Here is your winner by submission, at a time of twelve minutes and nineteen seconds...Sean Lyaskaris!

Frankie Garnett: Sean looks like he wants the postseason to start right now!

Bob Sinclair: With the roll he's been on, Frankie, I can't say that I blame him as he picks up another victory tonight!

Eidenhoek (0-6, OVR 299) vs. The Phoenix (2-3, OVR 306)

Disturbed's "Indestructible" hits the arena as a pair of wildly different figures emerge from backstage. In front is a dwarf, dressed for combat in a wrestling singlet, and behind him is a giant of a man, seven-feet plus (and nearly as wide). The pair walk to the ring, and the smaller man climbs up the steps and enters the ring while the giant walks around the ring once, getting a view from all angles before settling in the corner of his charge.

Amelia Williams: This match is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, being accompanied by Connor Reed, from Tanzania, weighing 102 pounds...Eidenhoek!

Bob Sinclair: Frankie, what are you doing?

Frankie Garnett: Yeah, three hundred at eighty-to-one odds on Eidenhoek. Make it happen.

Bob Sinclair: ...Forget I asked.

Within Temptation's "Stand My Ground" hits the arena speakers as the reigning League Champion emerges from the back, through a wall of flame pyro. His face gives no emotions away as he walks to the ring, stopping at the ring steps. A moment later, he slams both fists into the second-highest step before looking up the heavens with a cry of "For the Fallen" coming from his lips. With no further ado, he heads up the steps and steps between the ropes, ready to go to war once again.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from the End of Nowhere, weighing 337 pounds...this is The Phoenix!

Frankie Garnett: I'm calling it now! This is the day the world discovers just how much of a fraud Phoenix is!

Bob Sinclair: Surely you don't mean—

Frankie Garnett: Yes, I do, Bob. Phoenix is going to give Eidenhoek his first win and I'm going to laugh all the way to the bank!

Bob Sinclair: Ref finally does...1...2...3?!

Amelia Williams: Here is your winner by pinfall, at a time of fifteen minutes and forty-five seconds...Eidenhoek!

There is a stunned silence for a few seconds before the sound of Frankie Garnett laughing hysterically can be heard.

Bob Sinclair: Folks, that's got to be the biggest upset of the season so far—

Frankie Garnett: (Continues laughing hysterically)

Bob Sinclair: --as Eidenhoek, who was winless this season, has just knocked off the Season Six League Champion.

Frankie Garnett: (winded) That...that was the...greatest...

Frankie once more starts laughing, this time literally falling out of his chair while laughing. The show cuts to commercial as Frankie finally gets to his feet and half-stumbles backstage while laughter continues to consume him.

The Nebraskan Beast (4-2, OVR 316) vs. Sakura Toyota (2-3, OVR 309)

Motorhead's "Ace of Spades" hits to a decent ovation as the youngest competitor in the history of The League emerges, letting the music give her energy as she stares down the entrance ramp at the ring. Then, with a grin and a wink towards the camera, she sprints to the ring, leaping up to slide headfirst under the bottom rope. She uses her momentum to roll to her feet and head toward the turnbuckle, climbing onto the middle rope to garner more cheers before dropping back to the mat and preparing to face her opponent.

Amelia Williams: Our next bout is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Tokyo, Japan, weighing 101 pounds...Sakura Toyota!

Bob Sinclair: Folks, during the commercial break, I was told that Frankie Garnett walked backstage into the area designated for our vehicles, got into his rental car, and sped off into the night, shouting that he was now $24,000 richer and was taking the rest of the night off. So for the remainder of the show, it looks like it'll just be me at the announce table.

"Animal I have Become" by Three Days Grace blares through the arena as a red spotlight shines on the entrance way. A pair of figures emerge from the back, a smaller one walking backward in order to keep eye contact with his charge. The pair of men successfully navigate their way to the ring, and with a point and shout through his handheld megaphone, the smaller of the two urges the big man to enter the ring and tear his opponent apart. With a scream that sounds more like a primal roar, the big man slides into the ring, ready to fight.

Amelia Williams: Her opponent, being accompanied to the ring by Jack Sandford, from deep in the mountains of Omaha, Nebraska, weighing 381 pounds...The Nebraskan Beast!

Bob Sinclair: This has the makings of a mismatch here as well, as Sakura is giving up a lot of size to The Beast. But if our last match proved anything, it's that on any given night, anyone can win here in The League.

Re-Introducing Tag Team Turmoil

Bob Sinclair: At this time, ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to direct your attention to the Jumbotron at the top of the entrance ramp. The Commissioner of The League, Colt Marshall, has an announcement he'd like to make.

The camera cuts to the feed on the Jumbotron, where the Commissioner is sitting behind his desk. In the upper corner, it is revealed that this is being aired via satellite from Chicago.

Colt Marshall: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I give you my assurances that I will try to make this reasonably quick so we can get back to the in-ring action.

In three weeks, The League will be holding its mid-season attraction, Tag Team Turmoil. For those of you who are new to The League, Tag Team Turmoil is a two-night, tag-team-only exhibition event in which the members of The League pick their partners and compete in a single-elimination tournament to determine who the best team in The League is for that season. The winners will have their names written in the record books as two of the few to have won this tournament, and will earn the right to wear these proudly until the following season's Tag Team Turmoil event.

The camera pans out a bit to show the Tag Team Turmoil championship belts, sitting at the front of the commissioner's desk.

Colt Marshall: With both of last season's champions not returning to The League, the field is wide open for any two people to win these titles. In fact, there are three teams already formally announced for the tournament.

The first team is former Tag Team Turmoil champions, and a pair of League Originals. Reuniting for their second run at Tag Team Turmoil gold are Nuclear Templeton and The Phoenix, collectively known as Nuclear Winter.

The second team consists of the reigning League Champion, Thor Hammerskald, teaming with one of the standout rookies of this season, Amelia Midnight.

The final team that has been made official consist of a pair of League members who both debuted in Season Two, and may be the most technically sound team in the tournament—the Season Three League Champion, Sean Lyaskaris, and "The Scorpion" Scott Stevens.

As more teams are formed and made known by my office, they will be announced during League broadcasts. Any League members not on a team at twenty-four hours before the first night of the event will be randomly assigned to a team. In addition, the brackets for the tournament will not be revealed until the first night of the event in order to bring an extra layer of drama to the event.

I, along with all of you, look forward to what is sure to be two nights of non-stop action. Thank you for your time, and now let's go back to the ring to continue tonight's festivities.

Nuclear Templeton (2-3, OVR 307) vs. Connor Blackstone (3-3, OVR 313)

Billy Idol's "Shock to the System" hits the speakers, bringing the crowd to their feet in ovation as one of the League's more recognizable faces emerges from backstage and across the green-tinted stage. As he reaches the bottom of the ramp, Nuclear raises his arms in the air, causing twin mushroom clouds to explode on the entrance stage before he slides into the ring, ready to go.

Amelia Williams: Our next match is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Atlantic City, New Jersey, weighing 278 pounds...Nuclear Templeton!

Bob Sinclair: Nuclear's been hit or miss this season; a solid win here could give him some momentum headed into Tag Team Turmoil and the rest of the season afterwards.

Dire Straits' "Money for Nothing" hits the speakers barely a moment before our next competitor emerges from backstage. He makes no gestures to the fans, nor does he seem to showboat, as he stalks towards the ring and enters from the near side. Still ignoring the crowd, he removes his ring jacket and stands patiently in the corner, waiting for the bell to sound.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from San Jose, California, weighing 239 pounds..."All Business" Connor Blackstone!

Bob Sinclair: Blackstone, while having an average season in his rookie campaign, finds himself needing a chain of wins if he wants to challenge in the Delta Division behind Sean and Midnight.

Bob Sinclair: A desperately-needed win for Nuclear there, who remains very much in the thick of the Gamma Division hunt!

TABLES MATCH: Deathseed5 (3-3, OVR 315) vs. Razor Sharp (2-4, OVR 307)

Amelia Williams: The following contest is a Tables match! There will be no pinfalls, countouts, submissions, or disqualifications. The only ways to win are by referee stoppage, or by putting your opponent through a table!

12 Stones' "Infected" hits to a cascade of jeers as the masked Canadian emerges from backstage, with his manager in tow. Both men seem determined to head to the ring, and not pay attention to the fans as of yet. Reaching the ring, the masked man leaps over the rope, seemingly ready to rumble.

Amelia Williams: Introducing first, accompanied by Marc Pearson, from Winnipeg, Manitoba, weighing 220 pounds...Razor Sharp!

Bob Sinclair: This should be a competitive match-up, as two of this season's rookies look to make a name for themselves and break free from the pack.

The sound of a lightning strike precedes the lights in the arena going out. Saliva's "King of My World" hits the speakers, prompting some of the lights to flash back on in the arena. A figure stands in the entrance way, facing away from the ring with a fist raised in the air, wearing a jacket that is flashing with lights built into it. Turning towards the ring, he immediately makes his way towards it, stopping every now and then to talk smack to those in the crowd he feels are beneath him. As he finally reaches the ring, he climbs one of the turnbuckles, flashing a straight-edge sign as he climbs down into the ring and sits against the turnbuckles, ready to save another opponent.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, weighing 248 pounds...Deathseed5!

Bob Sinclair: I cannot figure out who would have the advantage in this match; these two seem equally matched to me. Let's see who gets the upper hand here as the bell sounds and this Tables match is underway!

Thor Hammerskald (2-3, OVR 310) vs. El Demonio de Sangre (3-3, OVR 313)

Anthrax's "Blood" hits the speakers, to a decent ovation he emerges from backstage, looking every bit the part of a Viking warrior as he strides to the ring with a determined look on his face...and scattering some of the fans away from the entrance ramp as he turns to glare at them. Making sure the fans are sufficiently cowed, he climbs the steps and enters the ring, his eyes never leaving the middle of the ring as he takes off his entrance gear and holds aloft his title belt for all to see.

Amelia Williams: Our next match is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Oslo, Norway, weighing 310 pounds, he is the reigning and defending League Champion...Thor Hammerskald!

Bob Sinclair: Thor finds himself in need of a win to stay within sight of the Alpha Division lead; a win here would be a huge momentum shift for him,

The driving metal of Slayer's "Raining Blood" hit the speakers as the luchador emerges from backstage. His mask is obscured by the smoke billowing around him, and it is a blood-red spotlight that follows him to the ring as he hops over the top rope and paces back and forth, waiting impatiently for the match to begin.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Tijuana, Mexico, weighing 142 pounds...he is El Demonio de Sangre!

Bob Sinclair: On paper, I'd have to give this match to Thor, but Demonio's done far better than anyone expected for being a literal last-second replacement. This could be quite the intriguing match-up.

(11:40) El Demonio de Sangre is being rendered helpless by Thor's Jotun Claw!

Bob Sinclair: We haven't seen Thor break that out in a while, and he has Demonio down on the mat as the ref slides in...1...2...3! It's over!

Amelia Williams: Here is your winner by pinfall, at a time of eleven minutes and forty-four seconds...Thor Hammerskald!

Bob Sinclair: Thor gets a big victory here, evening his record and proving he's not done yet this season!

LAST MAN STANDING MATCH: El Super Mantis (4-2, OVR 320) vs. Diamond (1-4, OVR 303)

Amelia Williams: The following contest is a Last Person Standing match! There are no pinfalls, submissions, countouts, or disqualifications. The only ways to win are by referee stoppage or by not being able to answer the referee's count of ten.

"Don't Cha" hits the arena to a loud reaction as The League's first female member emerges from backstage. There is a confident smirk on her face as she talks trash with some of the louder fans before sprinting into the ring by diving under the bottom rope. As she stands, she proceeds to the corner nearest the announce table, hands thrown in the air as the soaks in the crowd reaction while her manager stands outside, also applauding her client.

Amelia Williams: Introducing first, accompanied to the ring by Jayde, from Aberdeen, Scotland, weighing 137 pounds...Diamond!

Bob Sinclair: Diamond has struggled this season; a win here would go a long way towards turning her season around.

Queen's "Hammer to Fall" hits the speakers to a decent ovation as Britain's greatest (and admittedly, only) Luchadore emerges from the back, with his manager in tow. Adjusting his mask one last time, he nods to his manager and dashes towards the ring, slowing as he climbs the steps and somersaulting over the top rope. Landing on his feet, he gives a heartly "Ole!" (complete with heavy British accent) to the crowd, who still soak it up and cheer as his manager finally makes it to ringside.

Amelia Williams: Her opponent, accompanied to the ring by Lee Brae, from Mexico City, Mexico by way of Bristol, England, weighing 242 pounds...El Super Mantis!

Bob Sinclair: Mantis has been one of the standouts this season, a win over a League Original would be a major shot in the arm to his chances of a playoff run this season.

Celeste Skye (5-0, OVR 319) vs. Wallbanger Jones (5-1, OVR 319)

Disturbed's "Warrior" begins to blare from the house speakers, heralding our next combatant the ring. Garbed in dark biker leathers with a black bandana and a pair of shades, his look clearly screams "I will break you if you so much as look at me funny." Thus, it's not surprising that most of the fans keep their hands to themselves and settle for anonymous taunts as he strolls to the ring and ducks between the ropes.

Amelia Williams: This is our main event of the evening, scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from the nearest road house, weighing 306 pounds...Wallbanger Jones!

Bob Sinclair: This is the match that most of our audience has been waiting on. Wallbanger has made claims that Skye's undefeated record is untested and he intends to break it tonight.

The driving beat of Children of Bodom's "Warheart" precede our next competitor's entrance into the arena. She looks rather confident, as her uncle leans in to impart some words of wisdom. With a nod, she smiles and sprints towards the ring, leaping high enough to clear the bottom rope and tuck into a roll, popping to her feet to a decent ovation as she appeals to the fans. At ringside, her uncle finally gets into position and watches from her corner, looking for as much exposure as he can in this instance.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, accompanied by Daichi Tsukuda, from Hollywood, California, weighing 132 pounds...Celeste Skye!

Bob Sinclair: Skye, meanwhile, has not denied it, but simply said she's beaten everyone they've put in front of her. Her biggest test, I do believe, will happen right now.

Bob Sinclair: I think most of the doubters have been put to rest now; Skye appears to be the real deal and will look to carry it on next week in Blackpool, England. That's all the time we have for tonight; we'll see you next week!

@CallOfKing Will try to make this short.

@CallOfKing Sinclair, I heard your comment. If it's okay for others to get away with it, then I'll do it too. Quid pro quo.

@CallOfKing Bob? You're alright.

@CallOfKing As far as #TTT goes, I want @BangerSmashesYou.

@CallOfKing We both like to fight, we both like to rock. We're a natural fit.

@CallOfKing If he says no, I'll listen to suggestions from anyone except Dorkseed5.

@CallOfKing I will take Eidenhoek over Deathseed if it comes to it.

@CallOfKing Hell, I'd go solo and fight in handicap matches instead of teaming with Deathseed.

@CallOfKing If I get paired with Deathseed, I will wrap a chair around his throat in the parking lot so I don't have to tag w/ him.

@CallOfKing ...This... took longer than I meant to. Whatever.

@BITWDS5 Dorkseed5? Haha, that's funny. Tell that to the 5 supermodels in my hot tub. #LadyPleaser

@BITWDS5 But seriously, it is an honor to team w/ the Crescent City Savior.

@BITWDS5 Watch your back. I'll show why I'm the Straightedge Nightmare. #KingKiller

@CallOfKing @BITWDS5 "5 supermodels in your hot tub" Sims 3 doesn't count sunshine.

@CallOfKing Have your five virtual bimbo fantasy. I got a real woman waiting for me back home.

@CallOfKing Call yourself a savior, well I'm the spear of Longinus. #SavingTheWorldFromDeathseed

@CallOfKing The reason they call you "Straightedge Nightmare" is because people have nightmares of being like you.

<p>@CallOfKing @BangerSmashesYou Difference is, I respect you enough to give you my word that won't happen to you.</p><p>

@CallOfKing @BangerSmashesYou I may be a lot of things, but I don't back out of a promise I give to someone I respect.</p><p>

@CallOfKing Ask Super Mantis. I covered his taxi fare. I could have told the driver to leave him in the middle of the desert.</p><p>

@CallOfKing But I didn't, because I gave him a promise of a free ride back to his hotel.</p><p>

@CallOfKing In fact, given that you're so highly ranked, there's probably a lot of people who would love to injure you.</p><p>

@CallOfKing In other words, I'm the only person you can really trust.</p><p>

@CallOfKing Reconsider. That's all I ask. Besides, we both know if I pulled something on you, you'd make me pay for it.</p>

@BITWDS5 I don't really care who I team w/. I'll wind up putting the team on my back. Sky? Mantis? Banger? Idc</p><p>

@BITWDS5 Oh, & @CallOfKing, check the attached pic next time. Lol</p>

Week 7 Post Match Interview

March 7, 2014

Cancun, Mexico - Celeste Skye and her uncle, Daichi Tsukuda, arrived at Blackpool International Airport from their flight from Cancun. Waiting for them outside of baggage claim is League Reporter Sophia Russell.

SR: Welcome to Blackpool you two! Celeste, congrats on this week's impressive win over Wallbanger Jones. What did you think about your match against him and do you think that winning this match helped to prove your case about your winning streak?

CS: First off, I ... (Just then Daichi grabbed the mic from his niece's hands)

DT: Before you continue Celeste, may I say something?

Celeste nods

DT: Wallbanger, I read your post-match tweets and let me say that I'm honored to hear such praises from you about my niece's moves and technique. Her moves comes from over two decades of training and teaching some of the best and up and coming action stars in the world. It is a style that I learned from a great master that I then passed down to others like Celeste.

But back to the point that I was making. I like your style and more importantly, your determination. Keep on being you and I wish you the best of luck for the rest of the season.

CS: As I was saying, Wallbanger, I want to thank you for the great match. You gave me my toughest match so far and I felt that for a while, my streak was in jeopardy. I want to wish you well on the rest of the season and hope that we can meet up again, this time for the title.

As for the streak, I think that the match helped a bit, but like all things, there will be doubters. While I can try to prove them wrong by winning, I can't change their minds. I've just got to keep winning and not worry about it.

SR: With Tag Team Turmoil coming up in three weeks, you have still not chosen a partner. You've mentioned a couple of weeks ago that you felt like Wallbanger would be a good partner. You've also have been asked by Deathseed5 prior to your match. Would you want Wallbanger as a partner?

CS: If he will have me, I would love to be his partner. I feel that with our different styles of offense, we can be victorious in the tourney. As for Deathseed, I might take you up, but I would like to hear from Wallbanger first.

SR: Moving on to next week's match with Sakura Toyota, your Week 5 exhibition partner. How will you approach your match with her?

CS: Like you said, I've tagged with her in Week 5. Sakura has an interesting style that is different from other League wrestlers. She has a lot of speed and quickness that makes it hard to hit or counter her moves. She also has a finisher that is not only hard to describe, but hard to counter due to her quickness. Despite her having a rough time, I think that it would unwise to think that this will be an easy match. We plan to look at every bit of film from her matches and hopefully we can come up with a strategy that will lead to victory.

SR: Thank again Celeste for meeting me for this interview and good luck next week here in Blackpool.

CS: Thanks.

<p>@CallOfKing Yeah I saw that picture. Your photoshop skills suck. #ICanTellFromThePixels</p><p>

@CallOfKing Also, last I checked, straight edge also meant no sexual promiscuity.</p><p>

@CallOfKing This week, I pay tribute to one of my idol, Jack Giedroyc.</p><p>

@CallOfKing As some DAVE fans know, Giedroyc was first billed as "The Villain From Blackpool"</p><p>

@CallOfKing He was also known as "Born Naughty".</p><p>

@CallOfKing I don't give a damn if it makes me a crowd favorite this week or not.</p><p>

@CallOfKing All I care about is showing respect to my favorite wrestler.</p>
