<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

There's the opening bell! Thomson moves in quickly after a wayward punch and hits a kick to the inside of the left thigh. Thomson isn't drawn in by Miller feinting to his left. Miller catches an attempted body kick and goes for a takedown, getting it! Thomson pulls guard. Miller begins trying to pass guard and get a better position. He can't quite manage to get past guard on this attempt. Thomson attempts to lock on a triangle choke. Thomson gets the triangle fully applied...and there's the tap out!</p><p> </p><p>

By submission, the winner is Josh Thomson!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Bantamweight Bout: (#2) Michael McDonald (16-3) vs. (#5) Eddie Wineland (21-9-1)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

We are underway! Wineland feints to the right, trying to draw McDonald into throwing a strike. Wineland looks to be trying to close the distance between them. McDonald counters with a right hook that catches Wineland flush...and he goes down! Wineland recovers his wits quickly, and waits for McDonald to make a move. McDonald tries to secure a ground position. Wineland is unable to prevent McDonald from getting side control. McDonald punches down at Wineland, but they are easily taken on the gloves. In side control, McDonald throws a couple of punches designed to keep Wineland guessing. McDonald throws a few strikes, but they are without venom. Using an underhook to set it up, Wineland looks to scramble for position. The scramble fails to secure either fighter a dominant position, and they both end up standing. We move into the second half of this round. McDonald comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. The two fighters move closer, ready to strike. McDonald shows good head movement to avoid getting caught with a jab. Wineland comes in closer, looking to wrestle with McDonald. McDonald finds himself pulled into a grappling contest. Wineland is trying to push McDonald so that his back is up against the cage. Wineland manages it, and controls McDonald up against the cage. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Wineland smothers McDonald against the cage and stomps down on his foot. Wineland launches an elbow strike but McDonald is ready and uses some wrestling to turn around so that Wineland is the one against the cage. McDonald tries to foot stomp Wineland, but he puts himself off balance and gets turned around against the cage. Wineland goes to use some dirty boxing, but McDonald is aware of the danger and uses wrestling to prevent any damage from happening. Time expires and we come to the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

I think McDonald took that round, 10-9 on my score card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! It sounded like his corner told Wineland to go after McDonald and look to finish it. McDonald throws a right kick to the body but Wineland avoids it. Wineland feints to the right, trying to draw McDonald into throwing a strike. McDonald goes to the body and then to the head with a tidy combination to get Wineland to cover up, then shoots in. The takedown isn't enough to take Wineland off his feet, and McDonald finds himself turned right around. Wineland ends up pressing McDonald against the cage. Wineland tries to hit McDonald with a knee strike, but McDonald takes the opportunity to switch it around so that he is in control and Wineland is the one backed against the cage. McDonald tries to foot stomp Wineland, but misses. McDonald looks for a foot stomp, but Wineland is fighting too hard and it makes it impossible to balance properly to deliver the strike. Wineland avoids a foot stomp attempt. McDonald tries to dirty box Wineland, but finds himself out-wrestled and turned around so that he is the one against the cage. We go past the halfway point of this round. The referee thinks there has been too little progress, and brings the two fighters back to the center. Wineland comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Wineland walks into a big jab, landing right on the cheek. McDonald throws a right kick to the body but Wineland avoids it. Wineland is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. McDonald uses his strikes to stop Wineland from getting too close. McDonald throws a looping punch, but Wineland avoids it. Wineland comes in closer to press the issue. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Wineland looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with McDonald. Wineland is in the pocket, ready to attack McDonald. Seeing a right kick to the body coming, Wineland darts in and counters with a barrage of punches, eventually putting McDonald down! Time expires and we come to the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Wineland.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! Between rounds we could hear the corner of Wineland telling him to swing for the fences. A big right hand doesn't find its intended target, allowing McDonald to fire back with a right body kick. McDonald throws a vicious right uppercut but Wineland avoids it. McDonald doesn't get drawn in as Wineland feints a kick. Wineland sneaks a glance at his corner. McDonald presses in closer to attack. Michael McDonald is looking really tired. A weak body kick is countered by Wineland with a series of big punches, putting McDonald down on the ground! Wineland moves in quickly, kneeling beside McDonald and starting to hammer down with punches! Wineland pounds away on McDonald, landing several great shots that rock McDonald! The strikes are hard enough to force McDonald to roll to the side, giving up his back in the process! Eddie Wineland is looking really tired. Wineland gets both hooks in, and is now in a really dominant position. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Wineland attempts to complete a rear naked choke, having both hooks fully in. McDonald fights off the rear naked choke attempt. Wineland loses his hooks, as McDonald pries them away. Wineland tries to hook McDonald in a rear naked choke. Wineland gets rolled onto his back, and McDonald spins over so that he is now in guard. Wineland should have gotten hooks in before attempting that submission. McDonald looks to get past the guard. Wineland can't block the pass, and is left pulling half guard. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. McDonald attempts to arm triangle Wineland from the top of half guard. McDonald gets the arm triangle fully applied and Wineland has to tap out!</p><p> </p><p>

By submission, the winner is Michael McDonald!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Lightweight Bout: (#3) Gilbert Melendez (22-3) vs. (#5) T.J. Grant (20-5)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

Round one begins! Melendez avoids a jab and scores with a couple of nice rights. Both throw strikes at each other, both easily defend the other's attempt. Having stepped in close to throw their strikes, they end up grappling. Grant has worked in the underhooks and looks to take Melendez down. He lifts his opponent and drives him down with a Greco-Roman slam! Melendez pulls guard. Grant attempts to pass guard. Melendez keeps Grant in guard. Melendez tries a sweep from the bottom of the guard, but doesn't budge Grant. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Grant attempts to pass guard and gain a better position. Melendez comfortably blocks the attempt and keeps Grant in guard. Melendez goes for the sweep from the bottom of the guard. Melendez sweeps Grant, and they both scramble back to their feet. Melendez chooses to shoot in on Grant. He has the takedown! It's a single leg, and Grant has to pull guard. Melendez attempts to pass guard. He can't quite manage to get past guard on this attempt. Grant attempts a triangle choke on Melendez from the bottom of the guard. Melendez blocks the triangle attempt. We have one minute of the round remaining. Melendez lies on top of Grant, basically smothering him. The time runs out on round one.</p><p> </p><p>

I have to give that round to Melendez, but only a 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number two begins! It sounded like his corner told Grant to attempt to get Melendez to the floor in this round. Melendez grabs a slow leg kick and goes straight for a takedown, getting it! Grant gets half guard. Melendez starts trying to work to get out of half guard and into a better position. He can't get free of half guard. Grant tries to pull Melendez into a guillotine choke from the bottom of half guard. Melendez stops Grant from applying it. Melendez attempts to pass half guard. Grant doesn't let Melendez get his leg free, and so half guard remains in place. Grant reaches over and tries to lock Melendez in a guillotine. Melendez pulls free before the guillotine can be applied. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Melendez attempts to pass half guard and gain a better position. Melendez isn't able to pass from half guard thanks to the tenacious defence of Grant. Grant reaches over and tries to lock up an arm. Melendez defends it. There's under a minute left in this round. Melendez begins trying to get his leg free of the half guard. He can't get free of half guard. Grant attempts to guillotine Melendez from the bottom of half guard. Melendez stops Grant from applying it. Time expires and we come to the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>

I have to give that round to Melendez, but only a 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

Round three begins! Judging from what we heard from his corner, Grant is looking to get the fight to the ground ASAP. Melendez steps back to avoid a left jab. Grant uses a nice combination as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. Melendez won't go down from the takedown attempt, but can't do anything about being pushed up against the cage. All is not lost for Melendez though, as he pushes down on the back of the neck to get some leverage. Using the position well, Melendez pulls Grant down onto all fours, then rolls him to side control! Melendez fires away with rights, Grant is getting pounded. Grant is taking lots of shots, and can't seem to find a way out from this position! The referee stops the fight, he didn't feel Grant was intelligently defending himself!</p><p> </p><p>

Gilbert 'El Nino' Melendez takes the win by TKO!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Welterweight Bout: (#2) Rory MacDonald (16-2) vs. (#4) Jake Shields (30-6-1-1 NC)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

And here we go! Shields slips past an attempted big right hand and counters with a crisp left hand punch. MacDonald feints rushing in, but Shields doesn't fall for it. There's a takedown attempt from Shields. A counter right cross is too slow to catch Shields. The takedown is completed, it was a single leg and MacDonald is left on his back pulling guard. Shields tries to smother MacDonald but can't keep control long enough. MacDonald reaches up and tries to lock up an arm. MacDonald cannot secure the arm. Shields tries to smother MacDonald but can't keep control long enough. Using his leg strength to push Shields back a bit, MacDonald looks to scramble for position. The scramble ends with both fighters standing, facing each other. A jab misses, allowing MacDonald to counter-strike with a sharp kick just above the hip. We move into the second half of this round. MacDonald glances a strike off the side of the shoulder. Shields doesn't press the issue, allowing MacDonald to circle. Shields gets MacDonald with a punch to the ribs, but it lacked power. Not letting Shields settle, MacDonald moves in closer. We're into the final minute of the round. Moving in closer, MacDonald looks like he wants to strike from the pocket. Shields seems happy to engage with MacDonald in the pocket. Shields backs away from MacDonald, creating some space between them. Shields springs forward, trying to surprise MacDonald and grab one of his legs! Getting hold of a leg, Shields almost pulls MacDonald into a kneebar, but he is able to pull free too quickly. As a result, Shields is left flat on his back. MacDonald steps back and allows Shields to stand back up. The time is up, and that's the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

There was very little to separate them in that round, but I'll give that one 10-9 to MacDonald.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

And here we go, round two! MacDonald drops his shoulder and feints to step in, but Shields isn't buying it. Shields avoids a body kick. MacDonald tries to get a knock out with a scorching right cross but Shields moves out of range. Shields looks to be trying to close the distance between them. MacDonald is pulled into a grapple. Shields uses underhooks to gain solid control, and is looking for a takedown. MacDonald cannot stop being lifted up and blasted with a Greco-Roman slam, he can only pull half guard! Shields tries to pass the half guard. Shields struggles but cannot find a way past and remains stuck in half guard. MacDonald tries to ensnare an arm. Shields defends it. Shields is trying to get out of half guard and into a better position. MacDonald comfortably blocks the attempt and keeps Shields in half guard. MacDonald tries to sweep Shields but can't do it. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Shields tries to lock MacDonald into a kimura. MacDonald defends it well. MacDonald uses an underhook to work some separation, then quickly scrambles. He doesn't get enough separation though, and is forced to turtle up in front of Shields. We're into the final minute of the round. MacDonald springs back to his feet, albeit at the expense of a few punches to the body and head. A couple of quick punches are used to set up a takedown attempt from Shields. MacDonald tries to avoid the takedown. The takedown doesn't work, MacDonald saw it coming and got out of range. The time is up, and that's the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>

That round goes to Shields, 10-9 on my card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

And here we go, round three! MacDonald throws a barrage of big right hands but Shields moves out of range. After a one-two combination narrowly misses, Shields is able to strike back with a solid left jab. Shields feints stepping in. MacDonald is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. Backing off, Shields makes sure to keep out of range. Shields avoids a tight combination. Moving in closer, MacDonald looks like he wants to strike from the pocket. Shields now has MacDonald standing in the pocket. Using head movement, Shields slips past a left jab and counters with a clean punch. We pass the halfway mark of this round. A left jab misses, Shields counters with a stinging jab. A showdown where they both exchange strikes only results in a stalemate. In close proximity from the strikes they threw, they fall into a messy clinch. With underhooks giving him solid control over MacDonald, Shields looks for a takedown. Shields gets the takedown by using the underhooks for control and working a trip! He gets side control! Shields fires off a few punches, but they aren't thrown with any great force. MacDonald reaches over and tries to lock up an arm. Shields defends it. Rory MacDonald doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Shields tries to lock MacDonald in an armbar. A straight armbar is applied, MacDonald is in danger of having his arm hyper-extended! No! MacDonald manages to get his arm free. Clearly the hold couldn't have been as tight as it looked. MacDonald tries to ensnare an arm. Shields fends off MacDonald, and doesn't give up an arm. We reach the time limit and this fight is over.</p><p> </p><p>

I have to give that round to Shields, but only a 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

The judges' scores are now being announced. The judges have given 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

We are underway! Both fighters come in and exchange strikes, but neither does any damage. A feint sets up a body kick from dos Santos, but Overeem is able to move out of range in time. dos Santos slips out of the way of a leg kick, having been suckered in with a feint. A left hand misses, allowing Overeem to counter with a big right kick to the outside of the thigh. They exchange strikes, but neither fighter inflicts any real damage. Both fighters exchange strikes, but neither hits anything significant. A jab misses and Overeem counters with a kick to the outside of the left leg. Strikes to the leg like that will take their toll. We go past the halfway point of this round. dos Santos counters a left jab by hitting a nice three-punch combination. A straight left fails to land and Overeem is able to fire back with a crisp left hand punch. A straight left from Overeem fails to land. dos Santos comes in closer to press the issue. dos Santos looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Overeem. He gets into range. We have one minute of the round remaining. dos Santos slips past a jab and scores with a straight left. dos Santos throws a nice sequence of punches, but Overeem covers up and none of the shots finds a home. Overeem tries for a left jab but dos Santos uses head movement to avoid it. Time expires and we come to the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

That was a close round, but I'm giving it to Overeem, 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

Round two begins! It sounded like his corner told dos Santos to go after Overeem and look to finish it. A nice combination fails to land, allowing Overeem to hit back with a right body kick. Overeem moves out of range of a tidy combination of punches. Overeem counters a wayward right head kick with a kick to the inside of the left thigh. Junior dos Santos is now clearly favouring one leg. dos Santos looks to move in and stand in the pocket. He gets into range. Overeem uses head movement to avoid an enormous close-range knock out punch. A low kick is checked by dos Santos. Both throw strikes at each other, both easily defend the other's attempt. We move into the second half of this round. A left jab misses, dos Santos counters with an enormous right hook, Overeem is out before he hits the ground!</p><p> </p><p>

By Knock Out, the winner is Junior dos Santos!</p><p> </p><p>

- Dos Santos said he will have to face Brock Lesnar since before the fight did not happen because Lesnar was hurt.</p><p> </p><p>

- Overeem said Dos Santos was better tonight, and hopes to return better in the next fight.</p><p> </p><p>

- Jake Shields said he is ready to compete for the title again.</p><p> </p><p>

- Asked about the next fight Melendez, Dana White said he will likely face Khabib Nurmagomedov, probably in Russia and whoever wins, will dispute the title.</p><p> </p><p>

- Melendez said he is ready to challenge the champion, but if the UFC wants one more fight he will do his job.</p><p> </p><p>

- Dana White confirmed that the UFC will return to Canada 3 more times this year.</p><p> </p><p>

Round one begins! Njokuani slips past a left jab and fires back with a nice left hand. Parke slips out of the way of a flying kick. Njokuani moves in quickly after a wayward punch and hits a sharp body kick. Parke grabs a body kick and goes for the takedown, getting it! Njokuani pulls guard. Njokuani is controlled against the ground, unable to shift Parke off of him. Parke throws a few right hands as he takes a moment to plan ahead. The clock runs down as Njokuani is being smothered against the ground by Parke. We pass the halfway mark of this round. The clock runs down as Njokuani is being smothered against the ground by Parke. Parke smothers Njokuani with his body by pushing forward and down. The referee decides that there is a lack of progress being made and stands them back up. Parke slips out of the way of a flurry of punches. We have one minute of the round remaining. Njokuani tries for a left jab but Parke moves out of range. Parke comes in, looking for a quick takedown. Parke walks into a big left jab, landing right on the cheek. Njokuani looks to move in and stand in the pocket. Standing his ground, Parke looks happy to engage Njokuani in the pocket. Time expires and we come to the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

There was very little to separate them in that round, but I'll give that one 10-9 to Njokuani.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number two begins! Njokuani avoids a jab. Parke counters a wayward right head kick by shooting in for the takedown, but Njokuani is able to stuff it. They come together and strike, but neither can land a clean shot. Njokuani comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Parke lets Njokuani get closer. Stepping back, Njokuani creates a bit of distance. Parke catches an attempted body kick and goes for the takedown, but it is stuffed. Njokuani looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Parke. The two fighters move closer, ready to strike. We go past the halfway point of this round. A left jab misses the mark and allows Njokuani to counter with a quick right hook, catching Parke perfectly and putting him down! Njokuani quickly pounces, looking to rain down punches on the stunned Parke! Njokuani pounds away on Parke, landing several great shots that threaten to knock him out! The referee jumps in and saves Parke from taking any more shots!</p><p> </p><p>

And here we go! Masvidal steps back to avoid a leg kick. Pearson throws a left jab but Masvidal avoids it. Pearson fakes shooting in, but Masvidal doesn't fall for it. Masvidal steps back to avoid a leg kick. Masvidal avoids a jab. Masvidal chooses to shoot in on Pearson. Pearson counters with a left jab that catches Masvidal hard. An errant jab sets Masvidal up to counter-strike with a left jab to the cheek. We move into the second half of this round. Masvidal throws out a quick left jab. Pearson quickly gets in closer, looking to attack. Masvidal avoids a nice combination. Pearson throws a leg kick but Masvidal avoids it. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Masvidal looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Pearson. Pearson snaps off a strong left jab as a counter, but it only finds the gloves. Pearson throws a right kick to the body but Masvidal avoids it. Masvidal throws a feint. The time is up, and that's the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

An extremely close round, could have gone either way, but personally I'll give it to Pearson 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

We are back underway! A left hand misses, allowing Masvidal to counter with a solid left jab. Masvidal avoids a leg kick and scores with a barrage of big right hands! Pearson falls to the ground! Masvidal continues to pound away, sensing victory! The referee is forced to jump in and stop the match!</p><p> </p><p>

Pickett attempts to avoid Benavidez as he shoots in. Benavidez can't get the takedown, Pickett was too quick to back away. Benavidez moves in quickly after a wayward punch and hits a straight left that sends Pickett face-first into the mat...it's a knock out!</p><p> </p><p>

And here we go! McGregor tries for a leg kick but Stephens moves out of range. McGregor bobs and weaves, trying to get Stephens to commit. Stephens counters a one-two combination with a hard push kick to the chest. A left jab misses and McGregor counters with a series of big punches, putting Stephens down on the ground! McGregor doesn't have time to capitalise though, as Stephens recovers his wits quickly. McGregor avoids an up-kick and is able to catch Stephens with a nice punch. McGregor tries to secure a ground position. Stephens is too quick, slipping away from McGregor and starting to scramble. The scramble results in McGregor being on his back pulling half guard. Stephens is trying to get out of half guard and into a better position. Stephens isn't able to pass from half guard thanks to the tenacious defence of McGregor. McGregor attempts a guillotine choke from the bottom of half guard. Stephens pulls free before the guillotine can be applied. We go past the halfway point of this round. Stephens throws a few weak-looking punches as he decides on his next move. Stephens pounds away from half guard, and McGregor struggles to deal with them. Looking to catch his breath, Stephens is content to just throw a couple of punches to the body. McGregor attempts to guillotine Stephens from the bottom of half guard. Stephens stops McGregor from applying it. We have one minute of the round remaining. Stephens tries to pass the half guard. McGregor doesn't let Stephens get his leg free, and so half guard remains in place. The time runs out on round one.</p><p> </p><p>

That round goes to McGregor, 10-9 on my card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

We are back underway! Both fighters fire off strikes, but neither does any significant damage. Moving forward, Stephens counters a left jab with a nice left hand. Both throw strikes at each other, both easily defend the other's attempt. Stephens slips out of the way of a teep. An attempted body kick misses, giving Stephens the opportunity to counter with a solid left. McGregor counters an errant left jab with a superb combination of three quick punches to the body and a great right cross. We go past the halfway point of this round. McGregor slams a crisp right into the gloves of Stephens, but can't follow up. Not letting McGregor settle, Stephens moves in closer. Stephens shoots in for a takedown. Stephens is stopped by a good sprawl, and is pulled down to the ground in a loose front facelock until he is on his knees. McGregor fires away with punches, and Stephens takes several shots that threaten to end the fight! The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. McGregor looks to unload with some big right hands, but Stephens gets back to his feet before too many land. A feint sets up a kick to the body, but Stephens manages to just avoid it. Time expires and we come to the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>

I have to give that round to McGregor, but only a 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number three begins! McGregor counters a left jab by hitting a solid left jab. Stephens slips out of the way of a combination of short sharp punches. Stephens goes to the body and then to the head with a tidy combination to get McGregor to cover up, then shoots in. McGregor attempts to avoid Stephens as he shoots in. Stephens doesn't get the takedown, McGregor avoided it. Stephens looks to be trying to close the distance between them. McGregor is pulled into a grapple. Stephens looks for a trip takedown. The takedown doesn't work, McGregor defended it well. McGregor tries to get free of the clinch, but is stuck. With control of the clinch, Stephens tries to complete a takedown. The takedown doesn't work, McGregor defended it well. McGregor tries to get free of the clinch, but is stuck. We go past the halfway point of this round. With control of the clinch, Stephens tries to complete a takedown. Stephens can't get the takedown, McGregor defended it well. McGregor tries to uses a whizzer to turn Stephens, but is blocked from doing so. Clinched with McGregor, Stephens looks to try and take him down. The takedown is unsuccessful, McGregor blocked Stephens. Jeremy Stephens is looking really tired. McGregor tries to get free of the clinch, but is stuck. We're into the final minute of the round. Stephens looks to scoop his opponent up for a slam. McGregor has no answers, he gets lifted up and planted down! Stephens ends up in guard. Stephens throws a few strikes, but they are without venom. McGregor attempts a triangle choke on Stephens from the bottom of the guard. The triangle is applied, but with only a few seconds left Stephens will survive! We reach the time limit and this fight is over.</p><p> </p><p>

I have to give that round to McGregor, but only a 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

Hardy has no answers, he gets lifted up and planted down! Koscheck ends up in guard. Time slips away as Koscheck successfully keeps Hardy stuck against the ground. Koscheck lies on top of Hardy, basically smothering him. We go past the halfway point of this round. Koscheck tries to pass the guard. Koscheck struggles but cannot find a way past and remains stuck in guard. Hardy tries to pull Koscheck in close and pepper him with short strikes, but can't. Koscheck tries to pass the guard. He can't get free of the guard. Koscheck leans back to avoid a couple of wild swings from Hardy. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Koscheck attempts to pass guard and gain a better position. Hardy keeps his guard secure. Round one ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Koscheck.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number two begins! Koscheck just avoids a combination of short sharp punches and hits a left. Hardy darts in, feints a jab, darts back out. Koscheck moves out of range of a tidy combination of punches. Koscheck gets suckered in by a feint, and is fortunate to avoid the barrage of big right hands that follow it. Hardy is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. Koscheck waits for Hardy to step in, then he dives forward and hits a single leg. Koscheck looks to get past the guard. Hardy keeps his guard secure. Hardy attempts a triangle choke on Koscheck from the bottom of the guard. Koscheck blocks the attempt. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Hardy is controlled against the ground, unable to shift Koscheck off of him. Koscheck tries to pass the guard. He can't get free of the guard. Hardy brings his legs up and tries to lock Koscheck in a triangle choke. Koscheck blocks the triangle attempt. We're into the final minute of the round. Hardy is controlled against the ground, unable to shift Koscheck off of him. The time is up, and that's the end of round two. </p><p> </p><p>

Loud boos from the crowd can be heard, and after that round I'm really not surprised.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Koscheck.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

We are back underway! Koscheck catches a right body kick and goes for a takedown, but Hardy is able to block it. Josh Koscheck looks very tired out there. Both fighters exchange strikes, but neither hits anything significant. From the missed strikes they clinch. Using his wrestling skills, Koscheck is trying to push Hardy up against the cage. Hardy ends up backed against the cage. Koscheck looks for a foot stomp, but Hardy is fighting too hard and it makes it impossible to balance properly to deliver the strike. Josh Koscheck looks very, very tired. Hardy lands a few quick punches to the side of the head. Hardy struggles back against Koscheck, not allowing him to control the grappling. Hardy tries to slip on a guillotine choke, but can't quite hook it. Hardy waits for Koscheck to throw an elbow, then uses wrestling to turn him around so that Koscheck now has his back to the cage. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Hardy hits a knee strike to the side of the ribs. Hardy hits Koscheck with a short, sharp right uppercut, knocking him down! Hardy quickly pounces, looking to rain down punches on the stunned Koscheck! Hardy pounds away on Koscheck, landing several great shots that threaten to knock him out! The referee pulls Hardy away, stopping the match!</p><p> </p><p>

And here we go! A jab doesn't find its intended target, allowing Easton to fire back with a solid left jab. Camus slips past a left jab and counters with a sharp body kick. Camus avoids a jab and scores with a clean jab. Camus looks to move in and stand in the pocket. He gets into range. Showing good footwork and reactions, Easton avoids a body kick. Easton sees a right kick coming and strikes first with a flurry of small strikes. Camus slips past a jab and scores with a straight right that puts Easton down on his back! Easton shakes off the cobwebs quickly though, and is alert. We go past the halfway point of this round. Camus tries to come in and secure a ground position. Easton is too quick, slipping away from Camus and starting to scramble. Neither fighter can gain an advantage in the scramble, and they both end up on their feet. Camus waits for a flurry of punches to stop, then hits a straight left. Camus avoids a flurry of punches and hits a crisp left hand punch. We're into the final minute of the round. Camus is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. Easton seems happy to engage with Camus in the pocket. Easton uses head movement to cause a left jab to sail harmlessly by. Easton, standing in the pocket, is close enough to grab a body kick and go for the takedown, getting it! Camus manages to pull guard. The time runs out on round one. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number two begins! It sounded like his corner told Camus to stand and try to use counter striking against Easton in this round. A feint sets up a kick to the body, but Camus manages to just avoid it. Easton counters an attempted body kick with a clean jab. Easton avoids a wild spinning back fist after being tricked into moving forward by a clever feint. Camus feints stepping in. Easton counters a left jab by hitting a left jab to the cheek. Camus looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Easton. Easton sees a chance for a takedown attempt, and Camus, caught by surprise, has to pull guard. Easton tries to pass the guard. Easton gets past the guard with a certain degree of ease and gains side control. We move into the second half of this round. Easton throws a few right hands to the body. Camus takes a knee strike to the ribs from under side control. Camus takes a crunching knee strike to the ribs from under side control! Easton begins trying to get himself into mount. Easton shifts to mount. We're into the final minute of the round. Easton pounds away on Camus, landing several good shots in the process. Easton fires away with punches, and Camus is stung by several big shots. Round two ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

Round three begins! Easton catches a weak right kick to the legs and uses it to go for a takedown, getting it! Camus pulls guard. Easton starts trying to work to get past the guard. Advancing his position fairly easily, he passes to side control. Easton looks to get a mount. He does it, and has the mount on Camus. Easton fires away with big elbows, but Camus covers up and doesn't take any undue damage. Easton takes the back as Camus tries to sweep him! Easton gets both hooks in, and is now in a really dominant position. We go past the halfway point of this round. Easton, with both hooks in, attempts to get a rear naked choke fully applied. Camus fights off the rear naked choke attempt. With both hooks in and therefore great control of the body, Easton tries to finish Camus off with a rear naked choke. Camus stops Easton from getting his arm under the chin and completing the choke. Breathing very hard, Mike Easton is looking ragged. There's under a minute left in this round. With both hooks in, Easton tries to flatten Camus out for the rear naked choke. Camus doesn't allow the rear naked choke to be applied. Time runs out and that's the end of the fight.</p><p> </p><p>

There's the opening bell! Cerminara avoids a flurry of rights and lefts. An exchange of strikes doesn't really lead to anything. A left jab misses and Oliva strikes back with a stinging leg kick. Oliva looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Cerminara. Oliva cannot get close enough to the elusive Cerminara. Cerminara shoots in for a takedown. Oliva tries to hook a guillotine as Cerminara comes in. The takedown is too good, the attempted guillotine is lost. The takedown is successful, Oliva pulls guard. Cerminara begins trying to pass guard and get a better position. Oliva is ready for the attempt though, and keeps Cerminara firmly in guard. Oliva tries to switch to a butterfly guard, but Cerminara prevents it. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Cerminara begins trying to pass the guard. Oliva is ready for the attempt though, and keeps Cerminara firmly in guard. Cerminara feels Oliva prepare to scramble for position and makes sure it doesn't happen. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Oliva is controlled against the ground, unable to shift Cerminara off of him. Round two begins! Cerminara moves out of range of a flurry of punches. Cerminara swings with a couple of wild punches, then chooses to shoot in on Oliva. Oliva saw the takedown coming, he tries to grab a guillotine. The guillotine attempt doesn't work. The takedown is completed, it was a single leg and Oliva is left on his back pulling guard. Cerminara starts trying to work to get past the guard. He can't find a way past the guard. Oliva works some separation, then tries to quickly scramble his way into a better position. He may regret that choice, as it gives Cerminara the perfect opportunity to come over the top and get side control. Cerminara begins trying to get himself into a mount. He can't quite manage to get to mount on this attempt. Oliva looks ready to try and scramble, but Cerminara is quick to move to prevent that. We move into the second half of this round. Cerminara starts hammering away at Oliva with right hands. Oliva had better start defending himself, or this will be over! The referee gives Oliva time to do something, but eventually has to come in and stop the fight!</p><p> </p><p>

Both throw strikes at each other, both easily defend the other's attempt. A jab misses and Cooper counters with a series of quick jabs. A left jab misses and Cooper counters with a left. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Cooper throws a speculative right, but it is nowhere near hitting. Time slips away as Clark doesn't press Cooper, allowing him to circle. A straight left by Cooper keeps Clark from advancing. Clark seems to be waiting for Cooper to make a move. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Backing out of range, Clark circles tentatively. Cooper steps in to put some pressure on. Cooper comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Johnson throws a few left hands, but is mainly trying to catch his breath. Johnson doesn't allow Noons to lock him up with double underhooks. Noons looks to move in and stand in the pocket. Johnson sees a chance for a takedown attempt, and Noons, caught by surprise, has to pull guard. Johnson lies on top of Noons, basically smothering him. We move into the second half of this round. Johnson tries to pass the guard. Noons is ready for the attempt though, and keeps Johnson firmly in guard. Noons throws out some punches, but Johnson leans back to avoid them. Johnson punches down at Noons, but they are easily taken on the gloves. Johnson looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Johnson grabs Noons and pulls him into a grapple. Johnson is trying to muscle Noons up against the cage. Johnson achieves it, pinning Noons to the cage. Johnson uses underhooks to gain solid control, and is looking for a takedown. The underhooks are used to set up a trip, Noons is left on his back and has to pull half guard. Johnson throws a few strikes, but they are without venom. We move into the second half of this round. Johnson reaches over and tries to lock Noons in an arm triangle. Johnson gets the arm triangle, sinks it in deeply, but Noons is still trying to fight out of it! Johnson loses the hold! Somehow Noons got himself free. That was incredibly close to a finish though. Michael Johnson is breathing very hard. Noons tries to transition to full guard, but can't manage it. Johnson begins trying to get his leg free of the half guard. He finds himself unable to get past the half guard on this attempt. Noons tries to move from half guard to full guard, but Johnson doesn't allow it. There's under a minute left in this round. Johnson attempts an americana. Noons doesn't allow the americana to be applied. KJ Noons looks very, very tired. Noons tries to get full guard on Johnson but doesn't get anywhere. Johnson attempts to pass half guard. Noons comfortably blocks the attempt and keeps Johnson in half guard. The time expires on round three, and that is the end of the fight. </p><p> </p><p>

A nicely executed one-two combination sets up a takedown attempt from Kennedy. The takedown is successful, Boetsch pulls guard. Kennedy starts trying to work to get past the guard. Kennedy is too much for Boetsch, passing guard and gaining side control. We move into the second half of this round. Stuck under side control, Boetsch takes a knee to the ribs. Kennedy looks to get a mount. Boetsch can't stop it and gets mounted. Kennedy pounds away with elbows from the mount, but doesn't really do a great deal of damage. Kennedy comes in closer, looking to wrestle with Boetsch. Kennedy grabs Boetsch and pulls him into a grapple. With underhooks giving him solid control over Boetsch, Kennedy looks for a takedown. The underhooks are used to set up a trip, Boetsch is left on his back and has to pull half guard. Kennedy is trying to get out of half guard and into a better position. Boetsch throws a left jab but Kennedy uses good head movement to make sure it slips by. Kennedy uses head movement to cause a left jab to sail harmlessly by. Boetsch backs away to create some more space. Boetsch looks to move in and stand in the pocket. Strikes from Kennedy keep Boetsch from stepping in too close. There's a stalemate as both fighters throw strikes but neither hits. Tim Kennedy is breathing very hard. We move into the second half of this round. Boetsch looks to move in and stand in the pocket. Boetsch and Kennedy get closer, both looking eager to engage at close range. Looking tired, Kennedy comes in closer, attempting to wrestle with Boetsch. He pulls Boetsch into a grapple. Boetsch slips past a flurry of rights and lefts and hits a nice left. Kennedy, standing in the pocket, darts back to avoid a right kick to the body. Round three is brought to an end as time runs out. And here we go, round four! A showdown where they both exchange strikes only results in a stalemate. Kennedy backs away from Boetsch, creating some space between them. Boetsch, who is visibly tired, looks like he might want to get in close and wrestle with Kennedy. The two fighters start grappling for control. Boetsch and Kennedy separate and we're back to a stand-off. Boetsch avoids a scorching right uppercut and comes back with a right body kick. Slowed down by physical tiredness, Boetsch still looks to get in close and strike from the pocket. The two fighters move closer, ready to strike. Boetsch backs away to create some more space. Boetsch throws a leg kick but Kennedy avoids it. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Moving in closer, a tired-looking Boetsch apparently wants to strike from the pocket. The two fighters move closer, ready to strike. Using good head movement, Boetsch slips past a punch and hits a kick to the outside of the knee. There's only so many of those strikes to the legs that can be taken before they become an issue. Tim Boetsch looks like he doesn't have a lot left to give. He did cut an awful lot of weight for this fight, perhaps that is a contributing factor to his fatigue. Checking a leg kick, Kennedy counters back immediately with a massive uppercut, knocking Boetsch down to the ground! Tim Kennedy looks like he is almost out on his feet with exhaustion. Kennedy quickly pounces, looking to rain down punches on the stunned Boetsch! Kennedy is simply pounding away on Boetsch. Boetsch is taking lots of shots, and can't seem to find a way out from this position! With Boetsch stuck and taking a pounding, the referee has to stop the match!</p><p> </p><p>

And here we go! Both fighters fire off strikes, but neither does any significant damage. Having stepped in close to throw their strikes, they end up clinched. Hathaway has worked in the underhooks and looks to take Brown down. The underhooks are used to set up a trip, Brown is left on his back and has to pull guard. Time slips away as Hathaway successfully keeps Brown stuck against the ground. In guard, Hathaway begins working to pass to side control. Brown keeps his guard secure. Brown attempts to lock on a triangle choke. Hathaway doesn't let Brown get it. In guard, Hathaway begins working to pass to side control. Advancing his position, he passes to half guard. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Hathaway begins trying to get his leg free of the half guard. Hathaway is too skilled for Brown, passing half guard and gaining side control. Hathaway holds Brown in position with side control and drives a big knee into the ribs! Hathaway looks to get a mount. He does it, and has the mount on Brown. We're into the final minute of the round. Hathaway tries to set up Brown for an armbar. Showing good defense, Brown stacks up Hathaway to defend the armbar, and eventually works to getting side control. Brown throws a few weak-looking punches as he decides on his next move. Brown gets up, releasing side control, and backs off, allowing Hathaway time to stand too. Round one ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

I think Hathaway took that round, 10-9 on my score card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

Round two begins! Brown feints throwing a jab. Hathaway steps back to avoid a barrage of big punches. Hathaway throws a combination of rights and lefts, using them as cover so that he can shoot in. He has the takedown! It's a single leg, and Brown has to pull guard. Hathaway starts trying to work to get past the guard. Brown can't block the pass, and is left pulling half guard. Hathaway attempts an arm triangle. Brown blocks it. Brown tries to sweep Hathaway but doesn't get anywhere. We go past the halfway point of this round. Hathaway reaches over and tries to lock Brown in an arm triangle. Brown defends it well. Brown tries to sweep Hathaway but doesn't get anywhere. Hathaway starts trying to work to get out of half guard and into a better position. Brown can't keep half guard secure and gives up side control. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. In side control, Hathaway begins working to get a mount. He can't get the mount as Brown rolls away to stop it, but does take his back instead. Hathaway tries to set up Brown for an armbar. The armbar is fully applied, but Brown gets lucky because the round ends before he has to tap! Time expires and we come to the end of round two. That round certainly got the fans going.</p><p> </p><p>

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Hathaway.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

As his corner gives instructions, Brown simply sits there looking completely deflated.</p><p> </p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! An attempted body kick misses and Brown fires back with a crisp jab. Hathaway avoids a flurry of rights and lefts. Hathaway shoots in for a takedown. The takedown is completed, Hathaway came in hard and fast and was too much for Brown. Brown is left seated, with his back to the cage, with Hathaway holding him down. Hathaway uses an elbow, but Brown smothers it with ease. Brown hits several frustrated punches to the back, but they're not going to do any damage. Hathaway tries to improve his position. He does well, and manages to get side control over Brown. John Hathaway looks very tired out there. Hathaway tries to lock Brown in an arm triangle. The arm triangle is locked in, tight enough that Brown has to tap out!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Lightweight Bout: (#15) Bobby Green (22-5) vs. Abel Trujillo (12-5-1 NC)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

The fight begins! Green avoids a flurry of punches. Trujillo uses a flurry of lefts and rights to get Green to cover up, then shoots in looking for a takedown. Green tries to avoid the takedown. Green avoids the takedown attempt. Trujillo looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Green finds himself pulled into a grappling contest. With underhooks giving him solid control over Green, Trujillo looks for a takedown. Trujillo doesn't get the takedown, Green instead wrestles his way into controlling the grapple. Green is looking to muscle Trujillo back against the cage. Green can't do it though, and Trujillo is able to get free. Trujillo is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Green. He pulls Green into a grapple. Trujillo tries to wrestle Green backward and up against the cage. Trujillo does it, Green is stuck with his back to the cage. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Trujillo has gotten underhooks in and is looking to take Green to the ground. Green stops the takedown attempt, then uses his wrestling to take control of the grapple and put Trujillo against the cage. Green tries to throw an elbow, but Trujillo uses wrestling to prevent him from launching the strike. Green hits a knee strike to the thigh. Showing his ability to exert control, Green smothers Trujillo up against the cage for about thirty seconds, wearing him down with occasional sharp punches to the ribs. There's under a minute left in this round. Green hits a knee strike to the thigh. Green shows great control, keeping Trujillo pressed against the cage while punishing him with sharp strikes to the body for roughly half a minute. Having been stuck against the cage for a while without any progress, the referee brings them back to the center. Round one is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Green.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number two begins! Trujillo snaps off a crisp jab. Both fighters come in and throw strikes, there is no real damage done by either. Both fighters throw strikes, no significant damage is inflicted by either. In close proximity from the strikes they threw, they fall into a messy clinch. Getting underhooks, Trujillo looks for a takedown. Green blocks the takedown attempt. A whizzer almost allows Green to create enough space to get free, but Trujillo shuts that opportunity down. Using his wrestling skills, Trujillo is trying to push Green up against the cage. Trujillo does it, Green is stuck with his back to the cage. With Green stuck against the cage, Trujillo gets the underhooks and looks for a takedown. Green digs in and manages to defend the takedown. Green tries to get free of the clinch, but is stuck. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Trujillo has gotten underhooks in and is looking to take Green to the ground. Green keeps his composure, and Trujillo cannot get past his takedown defence. Abel Trujillo doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. Green tries to get clear of the grapple, but Trujillo holds him in place. We're into the final minute of the round. Trujillo has worked in the underhooks and looks to take Green down. Green digs in and manages to defend the takedown. Green tries to get free of the clinch, but is stuck. With Green stuck against the cage, Trujillo gets the underhooks and looks for a takedown. Trujillo tries hard but cannot get Green off of his feet. Time expires and we come to the end of round two. That wasn't the most exciting round we've ever seen, hopefully things will pick up in the next one.</p><p> </p><p>

That round goes to Trujillo, 10-9 on my card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! Green slips out of the way of a flurry of punches. A big right hand doesn't find its intended target, allowing Green to fire back with a left jab to the cheek. Abel Trujillo looks like he is on the verge of exhaustion. A tired-looking Trujillo approaches, looking for a takedown. The takedown doesn't work, Green sprawled to defend it and then works into a clinch position. Using his wrestling skills, Green is trying to push Trujillo up against the cage. Green achieves it, pinning Trujillo to the cage. Bobby Green doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. Green hits Trujillo, who is pressed up against the cage, with a nice short uppercut. Green attempts to wrestle Trujillo to the ground. Trujillo keeps his composure, and Green cannot get past his takedown defence. Abel Trujillo looks totally gassed. Trujillo turns Green slightly, but can't create enough space to get free of the clinch. We move into the second half of this round. Green attempts to wrestle Trujillo to the ground. Trujillo digs in and manages to defend the takedown. Trujillo tries to get free of the clinch, but is stuck. Bobby Green looks very, very tired. With the cage trapping Trujillo, Green looks to try and take him down. Trujillo will not go down, he blocks the takedown despite the best efforts of Green. A whizzer almost allows Trujillo to create enough space to get free, but Green shuts that opportunity down. We have one minute of the round remaining. Green attempts to wrestle Trujillo to the ground. Trujillo digs in and manages to defend the takedown. The fight comes to an end as the time limit expires.</p><p> </p><p>

I have to give that round to Green, but only a 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

Round one begins! Story avoids a jab and scores with a clean jab. Advancing, Hendricks counters a right jab by using a solid right jab. Story throws a right jab but Hendricks avoids it. Story throws out a couple of jabs as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. Hendricks tries to avoid the takedown. The takedown doesn't work, Hendricks saw it coming and got out of range. Story avoids a barrage of big left hands. Story steps back to avoid a one-two combination. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Story comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Hendricks throws a vicious left uppercut first, but it just misses. Story throws a couple of jabs, then chooses to shoot in on Hendricks. Hendricks sees the takedown coming and tries to move. The takedown is unsuccessful, Hendricks avoided Story. Hendricks slips past a right jab and counters with a nice one-two combination. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Story slips out of the way of a combination of short sharp punches. Hendricks hops around from foot to foot, looking for an opening. Story quickly gets in closer, looking to attack. Story comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Hendricks uses his strikes to stop Story from getting too close. Round one ends as time expires. That was a yawner of a round, and I think both fighters are now a bit frustrated.</p><p> </p><p>

That round goes to Hendricks, 10-9 on my card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! It sounded like his corner told Story to attempt to get Hendricks to the floor in this round. Story suddenly fakes dropping down for a double leg to try and get Hendricks to commit to a sprawl, but gets no joy. There's a stalemate as both fighters throw strikes but neither hits. Story slips out of the way of a combination of short sharp punches. Story steps back to avoid a one-two combination. Hendricks is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. Story catches the advancing Hendricks by surprise with a takedown. Story attempts to pass guard and gain a better position. He does excellently, getting past the guard and into side control. Story begins trying to get himself into mount. Story shifts to mount. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Story fires away with punches, Hendricks is getting pounded. Hendricks is barely able to do anything at all, he cannot get out from under Story! The referee has seen enough, he pulls Story off!</p><p> </p><p>

The winner, by TKO, is Rick 'Horror' Story!</p><p> </p><p>

Both fighters advance and strike, but neither hits anything. Edgar chooses to shoot in on Penn. Edgar gets a single leg takedown! Penn pulls guard off it. Edgar tries to pass the guard. Edgar isn't able to pass guard on this attempt. Penn attempts a triangle choke on Edgar from the bottom of the guard. Edgar pulls free of the triangle and brilliantly spins to side control. We go past the halfway point of this round. Edgar throws a few right hands, but is mainly trying to catch his breath. Penn attempts to secure an arm. Edgar doesn't let his arm get taken. Edgar tries to slip behind and take the back. Edgar takes the back, Penn could do nothing about it. Edgar successfully gets both hooks in, and seems primed to finish. We're into the final minute of the round. Edgar, with both hooks fully in, tries to get the rear naked choke applied. The rear naked choke is in deep, Penn has to tap out!</p><p> </p><p>

Rousey uses a flurry of lefts and rights to get McMann to cover up, then shoots in looking for a takedown. McMann stuffs the takedown attempt and then pulls Rousey into a clinch. We go past the halfway point of this round. McMann is trying to muscle Rousey up against the cage. McMann can't do it though, and Rousey gets a more dominant position in the grapple instead. Wanting to take it to the ground, Rousey attempts to drag McMann down into her guard. Rousey gets it, McMann is now trapped in her guard. Rousey tries to ensnare McMann in a triangle. The triangle is locked in deep, McMann has to tap out!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

There's the opening bell! Schaub counters a one-two combination with a solid left. Moving forward, Vera counters a series of wayward big punches with a right jab to the cheek. Vera slips past an attempted big right hand and counters with a kick to the ribs. Schaub circles as he plans his next move. Not letting Schaub settle, Vera moves in closer. Vera is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. Schaub now has Vera standing in the pocket. A right jab misses, Schaub counters with a straight left. Vera uses head movement to avoid a vicious right hand and fire right back with a great left hand, Schaub took it full in the face and is knocked out!</p><p> </p><p>

The winner, by Knock Out; Brandon Vera!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

And here we go! Both fighters go to exchange blows, but neither hits a telling strike. Silva looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Henderson finds himself pulled into a grappling contest. Silva tries to suck Henderson to the ground by wrapping his legs around the waist and pulling guard. The attempt is unsuccessful, Henderson blocked it and takes control of the grappling. Henderson is looking to muscle Silva back against the cage. Silva ends up backed against the cage. Henderson tries to foot stomp Silva, but he puts himself off balance and gets turned around against the cage. Silva tries to take Henderson down. He has the takedown! Henderson pulls guard. Silva punches down at Henderson, but they are easily taken on the gloves. Henderson attempts to lock on a triangle choke. Silva blocks the attempt. We move into the second half of this round. Silva throws a few right hands to the body. Silva fires off a few punches, but they aren't thrown with any great force. Henderson brings his legs up and tries to lock Silva in a triangle choke. Silva blocks the triangle attempt. We're into the final minute of the round. Silva looks to pass guard and get side control. Henderson comfortably blocks the attempt and keeps Silva in guard. Silva gets pushed back thanks to a butterfly guard, and Henderson quickly scrambles. Silva is too quick though, and grabs side control before Henderson can get up. Round one is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

That round goes to Silva, 10-9 on my card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

Round two begins! Judging from what we heard from his corner, Silva is looking to avoid strikes and take it to the ground in this round. Both fighters throw strikes at the same time, both miss. Henderson looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Silva finds himself pulled into a grappling contest. Henderson looks to scoop his opponent up for a slam. Silva is able to block it and pull away from him. Henderson looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Silva. Henderson grapples with Silva, who made no attempt to escape. With control of the clinch, Silva tries to complete a takedown. The takedown doesn't work, Henderson blocked it and then takes control of the grapple. Using his wrestling skills, Henderson is trying to push Silva up against the cage. Silva out-wrestles him though. Silva grabs an arm and tries and pull Henderson down to the ground into his guard. Henderson defends against it well, and takes control of the clinch. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Henderson is trying to push Silva so that his back is up against the cage. Henderson manages it, and controls Silva up against the cage. Henderson uses underhooks to gain solid control, and is looking for a takedown. Henderson tries hard but cannot get Silva off of his feet. Silva tries to uses a whizzer to turn Henderson, but is blocked from doing so. Henderson has worked in the underhooks and looks to take Silva down. Silva digs in and manages to defend the takedown. A whizzer almost allows Silva to create enough space to get free, but Henderson shuts that opportunity down. We're into the final minute of the round. With the cage trapping Silva, Henderson gets the underhooks in and looks for a takedown. He lifts his opponent and drives him down with a Greco-Roman slam! Silva pulls guard. Dan Henderson looks very tired out there. Henderson attempts to pass guard. He finds himself unable to pass guard on this attempt. Round two ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

Loud boos from the crowd can be heard, and after that round I'm really not surprised.</p><p> </p><p>

I have to give that round to Henderson, but only a 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

Round three begins! A left hand misses, allowing Silva to counter with a kick to the outside of the left leg. A left jab misses and Silva strikes back with a right kick to the thigh. Dan Henderson is going to end up limping if he takes too many more of those strikes. Breathing very hard, Thiago Silva is looking ragged. A visibly tired Henderson is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Silva. Silva ends up grappling for supremacy with Henderson. Henderson is trying to push Silva so that his back is up against the cage. Henderson can't manage it, and Silva gets out of the grapple entirely. Henderson steps back to avoid a leg kick. A body kick misses, giving Henderson an opening to score with a clean jab. Silva, who is visibly tired, looks like he might want to get in close and clinch with Henderson. Silva cannot get close enough to the elusive Henderson to clinch. Dan Henderson looks like he doesn't have a lot left to give. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Backing out of range, Henderson circles tentatively. Not letting Henderson settle, Silva moves in closer. Silva, who looks drained, comes forward looking for a takedown. Silva can't complete the takedown, and has to settle for pushing Henderson up against the cage. Thiago Silva looks like he doesn't have a lot left to give. A left jab misses and Diaz strikes back with a solid right. Diaz comes in, looking for a quick takedown. Kampmann tries to avoid the takedown. Kampmann avoids the takedown attempt. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Diaz looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Kampmann. Diaz is in the pocket, ready to attack Kampmann. Kampmann slips past a tidy combination and hits a crisp left. Kampmann tries for a right jab but Diaz uses head movement to avoid it. Diaz uses head movement to avoid a right jab. Stepping back, Kampmann creates a bit of distance. We're into the final minute of the round. Diaz shoots in for a takedown. Diaz is stopped by a good sprawl, and is pulled down to the ground in a loose front facelock until he is on his knees. In turtle position Diaz does not allow Kampmann to roll him over. There's the bell for the start of the round! Kampmann avoids a nice combination and hits a big right kick to the outside of the thigh. Diaz avoids a kick to the leg and hits a couple of jabs and a beautiful left hook to the body. Kampmann counters a wayward right jab with a solid left jab. A straight right fails to land and Kampmann is able to fire back with a crisp left hand punch. Diaz looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Kampmann. Kampmann ends up grappling for supremacy with Diaz. With control of the clinch, Diaz tries to complete a takedown. Diaz doesn't get the takedown, Kampmann blocked it. Diaz loses control of Kampmann, who breaks free from the grapple and backs off. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Diaz avoids a body kick. Kampmann circles around Diaz. Not letting up, Diaz steps in closer to pressure Kampmann into action. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. There's a takedown attempt from Diaz. Kampmann tries to counter with a right hand, but is too slow. The takedown is successful, it's a single leg that leaves Kampmann pulling guard. Diaz punches down at Kampmann, but they are easily taken on the gloves. Diaz tries to control Kampmann against the ground, but finds it a struggle. Diaz blocks Kampmann as he tries a sweep from the guard. Time expires and we come to the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>

An extremely close round, could have gone either way, but personally I'll give it to Diaz 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

Maynard achieves it, pinning Henderson to the cage. Maynard drives a knee to the thigh area. Maynard exerts total control, keeping Henderson smothered against the cage for thirty seconds or so. Maynard tries to hit Henderson with an elbow, but Henderson takes the opportunity to switch it around so that he is in control and Maynard is the one backed against the cage. With Maynard stuck against the cage, Henderson gets the underhooks and looks for a takedown. Maynard digs in and manages to defend the takedown. A whizzer almost allows Maynard to create enough space to get free, but Henderson shuts that opportunity down. We pass the halfway mark of this round. With Maynard stuck against the cage, Henderson gets the underhooks and looks for a takedown. A sweep of the legs is successful, Maynard has to pull guard. Henderson throws a few strikes, but is clearly slowing things down so that he can catch his breath. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Henderson is trying to pass guard. He finds himself unable to pass guard on this attempt. Round one is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

Incredibly close round, but Maynard came out just ahead on my score card.</p><p> </p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! Maynard avoids a jab. Maynard is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Henderson. Henderson ends up grappling for supremacy with Maynard. Maynard is trying to push Henderson so that his back is up against the cage. He does so, and now has Henderson pinned to the cage. Showing good control, Maynard keeps Henderson stuck against the cage and hits him with short punches to the body for about thirty seconds. Maynard pins Henderson up against the cage and stomps down hard on his foot. Maynard tries to smother him against the cage with wrestling, but can't keep control of Henderson who is fighting it. Maynard tries to maintain control, but Henderson isn't letting himself get bullied like that. We go past the halfway point of this round. Henderson waits for Maynard to throw an elbow, then uses wrestling to turn him around so that Maynard now has his back to the cage. Henderson has gotten underhooks in and is looking to take Maynard to the ground. Maynard blocks the takedown attempt and turns Henderson around so that he has his back to the cage. Henderson gets caught with a knee to the inside of the thigh. Henderson takes a knee strike to the inside of his own knee. Gray Maynard doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Henderson takes a knee strike to the inside of his own knee. Henderson struggles back against Maynard, not allowing him to control the grappling. Maynard suddenly finds a standing guillotine choke slapped on him! The guillotine is fully sunk in, Maynard has no option but to tap out!</p><p> </p><p>

Aldo dives in, but Pettis pushes him away and starts to scramble. The scramble fails to secure either fighter a dominant position, and they both end up standing. Aldo counters an attempted teep with a stinging left jab. Both fighters advance and strike, but neither hits anything. Having stepped in close to throw their strikes, they end up grappling. Pettis tries to wrestle Aldo backward and up against the cage. Pettis can't manage it, and Aldo gets out of the grapple entirely. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. A straight left from Pettis fails to land. Not letting Pettis settle at all, Aldo comes in closer. Pettis avoids a right kick to the body and hits a crisp jab. There's the bell and round number two begins! Pettis feints stepping in. A ridiculous spinning heel kick is miles off target and lets Aldo have the perfect angle to hit a picture-perfect right roundhouse kick to the side of the ribs. Aldo slips past a left jab and fires back with a right handed bomb that knocks Pettis clean off his feet! Aldo senses victory and starts to unload with punches! Aldo fires away with punches, Pettis is taking powerful shot after powerful shot! The referee is forced to jump in and stop the match!</p><p> </p><p>

Round 1

There's the opening bell! Both fighters throw strikes at the same time, both miss. Manawaroa moves in quickly after a wayward punch and hits a pair of nice shots to the body. Manawaroa is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Khaliev. He pulls Khaliev into a grapple. Clinched with Khaliev, Manawaroa looks to try and take him down. Manawaroa gets the takedown! Khaliev pulls guard. Manawaroa smothers Khaliev with his body by pushing forward and down. Manawaroa looks to pass guard and get side control. He can't quite manage to get past guard on this attempt. Khaliev tries to ensnare an arm. Manawaroa doesn't let his arm get taken. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Manawaroa tries to pass the guard. He can't quite manage to get past guard on this attempt. Khaliev attempts to grab an arm of Manawaroa from the bottom of the guard. Manawaroa defends it. There's under a minute left in this round. With no progress being made, the referee stands them back up. Khaliev chooses to shoot in on Manawaroa. The takedown is blocked with a sprawl! Manawaroa has Khaliev at close quarters and wrestles him to the floor, finishing in his half guard. Manawaroa is trying to get out of half guard and into a better position. Manawaroa isn't able to pass from half guard thanks to the tenacious defence of Khaliev. Khaliev tries to ensnare an arm. Manawaroa doesn't let his arm get taken. The time runs out on round one.

 

You can hear some boos from the audience, they weren't impressed with that round at all.

And here we go, round two! A tidy combination doesn't find a home, giving Khaliev the opportunity to counter with a vicious head kick, knocking Manawaroa out cold!

Akhmedov doesn't get the takedown, Thompson blocked it. Thompson turns Akhmedov slightly, but can't create enough space to get free of the clinch. Thompson tries to wriggle free, but Akhmedov controls him well and gets in a few close-range punches too. Getting underhooks, Akhmedov looks for a takedown. Thompson blocks the takedown attempt. A whizzer almost allows Thompson to create enough space to get free, but Akhmedov shuts that opportunity down. Wanting to take it to the ground, Akhmedov attempts to drag Thompson down into his guard. The attempt is successful, Thompson is sucked down into his guard. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Akhmedov attempts to lock on a triangle choke. Thompson blocks the attempt. Akhmedov fires off a few punches, but they aren't thrown with any great force. Akhmedov brings his legs up and tries to lock Thompson in a triangle choke. Thompson blocks the triangle attempt. Thompson pounds away with punches, but doesn't do much damage, if any, Akhmedov is comfortable holding guard. Akhmedov brings his legs up and tries to lock Thompson in a triangle choke. Thompson doesn't let Akhmedov get it. Akhmedov throws a few right hands to the body. We have one minute of the round remaining. Akhmedov brings his legs up and tries to lock Thompson in a triangle choke. Thompson blocks the attempt. Round one is brought to an end as time runs out.

And here we go, round two! From what we could hear of his corner, it sounds like Akhmedov has been instructed to try and get Thompson to the floor in this round. Thompson fires away with punches, Akhmedov is taking several big shots. With punches raining down, Akhmedov can only pull Thompson down into side control to survive. Thompson throws a few weak-looking punches as he decides on his next move. Thompson throws a few strikes, but they are without venom. Akhmedov bursts into life and tries to scramble into a better position. The scramble fails to secure either fighter a dominant position, and they both end up standing. Thompson is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. Akhmedov tries to take down Thompson as he steps in, but he blocks it. Omari Akhmedov is looking really tired. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Both fighters come toe-to-toe and strike, but none of the strikes result in significant damage being done. Having stepped in close to throw their strikes, they end up grappling. Akhmedov attempts to pick Thompson up for a slam. Thompson is able to block it and pull away from him. Backing out of range, Thompson circles tentatively. Akhmedov doesn't press the issue, allowing Thompson to circle. There's under a minute left in this round. Thompson uses a feint to get Akhmedov off balance, but the nice sequence of punches that follow don't find their mark. Thompson darts in and out of range quickly, trying to get Akhmedov to commit to throwing a strike. The time is up, and that's the end of round two.

 

That round goes to Thompson, 10-9 on my card.

 

Round 3

With Thompson stuck against the cage, Akhmedov gets the underhooks and looks for a takedown. He lifts his opponent and drives him down with a Greco-Roman slam! Thompson pulls guard. Akhmedov tries to smother Thompson but can't keep control long enough. Thompson bursts into life and tries to scramble into a better position. Akhmedov is too quick though, and grabs side control before Thompson can get up. The time runs out and that round is over, and so is the fight.

 

That was a very close round, but I think Thompson just about edged it.

There's the bell and round number two begins! Judging from what we heard from his corner, Amagov is looking to hit Musoke on the counter. A flurry of rights and lefts miss, allowing Amagov to hit back with a couple of hard right hands! Musoke dodges a jab, and fires back with a solid punch. Amagov lets a jab sail wide and counter-strikes with a crisp right uppercut; Musoke is momentarily wobbly! A leg kick gets checked by Musoke. Both fighters fire off strikes, neither produces any significant damage. From the pocket, Musoke sees a body kick coming and moves forward to counter-strike with a crisp left. Slipping past a left jab, Musoke hits a clean punch. Musoke slips past a jab and scores with a sequence of quick punches. We go past the halfway point of this round. Both fighters come toe-to-toe and strike, but none of the strikes result in significant damage being done. An exchange of blows doesn't really produce any damage or a clear advantage. Both fighters advance and strike, but neither hits anything. Going toe-to-toe, both fighters start exchanging close range strikes! A huge right hand connects, Amagov wobbles...and then goes down! Musoke quickly tries to set up the dazed Amagov for an armbar. Amagov fights off the armbar attempt, and does it well enough to pull free and get back to his feet. We go past the halfway point of this round. Musoke looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Amagov. Musoke is now standing in the pocket. An exchange of strikes doesn't really lead to anything. Having stepped near each other to throw their strikes, they both start throwing punches at close range! A massive right hook connects, Amagov is knocked down...he is out cold!

Nurmagomedov can't get near enough to engage, Koch uses strikes to keep him out of range. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Nurmagomedov looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Koch. Koch is too quick, and manages to hit Nurmagomedov with a good clean right jab. Koch uses a smart combination to get Nurmagomedov to cover up, then shoots in looking for a takedown. Nurmagomedov sprawls, stopping the takedown and forcing Koch down to the ground into a type of turtle position. Nurmagomedov pounds away with punches and Koch is in big trouble! Nurmagomedov pounds away with right hands, but Koch absorbs them and manages to stand back up. There's under a minute left in this round. Moving in closer, Nurmagomedov looks like he may want to wrestle Koch. Koch ends up grappling for supremacy with Nurmagomedov. Nurmagomedov is trying to push Koch so that his back is up against the cage. Nurmagomedov does it, Koch is stuck with his back to the cage. Nurmagomedov tries to maintain control, but Koch wrestles his way out of trouble and turns it so that Nurmagomedov ends up backed against the cage. Koch tries to use some dirty boxing, but Nurmagomedov uses wrestling to nullify any potential damage. The time is up, and that's the end of round one.

 

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Nurmagomedov.

 

Round 2

And here we go, round two! From what we could hear of his corner, it sounds like Koch has been instructed to try and get Nurmagomedov to the floor in this round. Nurmagomedov slips out of the way of a leg kick, having been suckered in with a feint. Nurmagomedov comes in closer, looking to wrestle with Koch. Koch counters with a right jab that catches Nurmagomedov hard. Koch throws a combination of rights and lefts, using them as cover so that he can shoot in. Koch finds his takedown blocked with a sprawl, and Nurmagomedov promptly wrestles him to the ground, ending up on top, in half guard. In half guard, Nurmagomedov begins working to get side control. Koch doesn't let Nurmagomedov get his leg free, and so half guard remains in place. Koch attempts a guillotine choke from the bottom of half guard. Koch gets the guillotine but despite his best efforts he cannot force the tap out! Koch must not have it totally sunk in. The guillotine is finally released, Koch may have gassed his arms trying to force the tap out. We go past the halfway point of this round. Koch keeps Nurmagomedov, who looked to be trying to stand up, in guard. Koch works some separation, and Nurmagomedov ends up standing looking down at him. Koch waits for a kick to come in, then quickly scrambles back up. Nurmagomedov catches a left body kick and goes for a takedown, but it is blocked. Khabib Nurmagomedov doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. We have one minute of the round remaining. Nurmagomedov, who is visibly tired, looks like he might want to get in close and wrestle with Koch. Koch uses his strikes to stop Nurmagomedov from getting close enough to grapple. Slowly moving in closer, a ragged-looking Nurmagomedov wants to wrestle Koch. A counter right catches Nurmagomedov above the eye. Round two ends as time expires.

Nurmagomedov and Koch break the grapple and are apart again, circling. Moving in closer, a tired-looking Koch apparently wants to strike from the pocket. Keen to keep space between them, Nurmagomedov backs away. Time runs out and that's the end of the fight.

 

An extremely close round, could have gone either way, but personally I'll give it to Koch 10-9.

Mitrione tries for a right jab but Emelianenko moves out of range. Mitrione comes in closer, despite his tiredness, looking to attack from the pocket. Mitrione is in the pocket, ready to attack Emelianenko. Standing in the pocket, Emelianenko catches an attempted body kick and goes for the takedown, but it is blocked. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Standing in the pocket, a visibly tired Emelianenko chooses to shoot in for a double leg on Mitrione. A good sprawl stops the takedown, and Emelianenko is brought down to the mat in a loose front facelock. I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Emelianenko.

The fight begins! Poirier feints going high, but Hioki doesn't buy it. Hioki darts in, feints a jab, darts back out. Poirier feints left and tries to get Hioki to commit to a strike, but gets no joy. A nicely executed one-two combination sets up a takedown attempt from Hioki. Poirier attempts to avoid Hioki as he shoots in. The takedown doesn't work, Poirier saw it coming and got out of range. Hioki counters a left kick to the body by hitting a jab. Poirier avoids a jab and scores with a clever combination ending in a big left hook. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Hioki shoots in, looking for a takedown. Poirier attempts to avoid Hioki as he shoots in. The takedown doesn't work, Poirier saw it coming and got out of range. A straight left by Hioki keeps Poirier from advancing. Poirier doesn't let Hioki settle, stepping in closer to impose himself. Hioki covers up in the face of a combination of short sharp punches, then fires back with a stinging left jab. There's under a minute left in this round. Hioki avoids a tight combination. Hioki throws a combination of rights and lefts, using them as cover so that he can shoot in. The takedown is successful, it's a single leg that leaves Poirier pulling guard. Hioki is trying to pass guard. He does excellently, getting past the guard and into side control. The time runs out on round one.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Hioki.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! Hioki tries for a left jab but Poirier moves out of range. A jab misses and Hioki counters with a clean jab. Poirier throws a right jab but Hioki avoids it. Hioki uses a nice combination as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. Poirier tries to avoid Hioki. Hioki doesn't get the takedown, Poirier avoided it. Hioki moves out of range of a tidy combination of punches. Hioki looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Poirier. Poirier now has Hioki standing in the pocket. We move into the second half of this round. Slipping past a right jab, Hioki hits a clean left jab. Poirier uses head movement to avoid a right jab. Poirier dodges a jab, and fires back with a quick left hook, catching Hioki perfectly and putting him down! Hioki shakes off the cobwebs quickly though, and is alert. Apparently unwilling to engage, Poirier lets his opponent stand back up. Backing out of range, Poirier circles tentatively. Not letting up, Hioki steps in closer to pressure Poirier into action. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Hioki goes to the body and then to the head with a tidy combination to get Poirier to cover up, then shoots in. The takedown is completed, Hioki came in hard and fast and was too much for Poirier. Poirier winds up seated, his back to the cage, with Hioki pressing onto him. Hioki tries to improve his position. Hioki shows his ground skills and gets full mount! Round two ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

Good round, that's the sort of action we like to see.</p><p> </p><p>

That was a very close round, but I think Hioki just about edged it.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! Hioki steps in, faking as if going for a shot, but Poirier is alive to the deception. Hioki looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Hioki cannot get close enough to the elusive Poirier to grapple. Hioki looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Poirier finds himself pulled into a Muay Thai clinch. From the clinch, Hioki drives a brutal elbow to the side of the head. Poirier manages to grapple his way out of trouble and into having double underhooks as he clinches with Hioki. Hioki is looking to muscle Poirier back against the cage. He does so, and now has Poirier pinned to the cage. Hioki uses a vicious foot stomp. Hioki steps back to achieve some separation from Poirier and gets ready to strike. Hioki uses head movement to slip past a punch, then hits some big rights, Poirier can do nothing but try and cover up! Poirier gets knocked down and Hioki keeps up the pressure with punch after punch! The referee is forced to jump in and stop the match!</p><p> </p><p>

Hatsu Hioki takes the win by TKO!</p><p> </p><p>

And here we go! Miocic steps in, feints a kick, then darts back out. A jab doesn't find its intended target, allowing Barnett to fire back with a nice jab. Miocic counters a left jab by hitting a nice left hand. Barnett avoids a jab. An attempted inside leg kick misses, giving Barnett the opportunity to counter with a left. Miocic feints rushing in, but Barnett doesn't fall for it. We go past the halfway point of this round. Moving in closer, Barnett looks like he may want to wrestle Miocic. Miocic keeps himself moving out of range, not wanting to grapple. Barnett avoids a quick jab and hits a nice jab. Barnett slips past a left jab and counters with a pair of jabs and a big right hook. A feinted high kick gets a reaction, and Miocic is lucky to avoid the follow-up inside leg kick. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Miocic doesn't get drawn in as Barnett feints a kick. Barnett shoots in for a takedown. The takedown doesn't work, Miocic sprawled to defend it and then works into a clinch position. The time is up, and that's the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Barnett.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

Round two begins! Judging from what we heard from his corner, Miocic is looking to push the pace with strikes in this round. Miocic counters a left jab with a left. Barnett catches a right body kick and goes for a takedown, down goes Miocic! He pulls guard though. Barnett pounds away with elbows, but doesn't do much damage, if any, Miocic is comfortable holding guard. Barnett deflects a couple of punches that Miocic threw from below. Barnett tries to pound on Miocic, but all the blows are comfortably dealt with. Miocic tries to catch Barnett with a punch, but it is not on target. Barnett attempts to pass guard. He passes the guard well, gaining side control. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Barnett tries to ensnare Miocic in an armbar. A straight armbar is applied, Miocic is in danger of having his arm hyper-extended! No! He pops his arm free. That was really close. Barnett blocks Miocic as he tries a transition to guard. Barnett attempts to roll Miocic slightly and take his back. He takes the back! We're into the final minute of the round. Barnett tries to lock Miocic in an armbar. Miocic blocks it. Barnett blocks an attempt to roll him off of the back. Barnett gets both hooks in, and is now in a really dominant position. With both hooks in and therefore great control of the body, Barnett tries to finish Miocic off with a rear naked choke. Miocic stops Barnett from getting his arm under the chin and completing the choke. Time expires and we come to the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Barnett.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

We are back underway! Miocic slips past a left jab and counters with a clean jab. Miocic slips out of the way of a combination of short sharp punches. Miocic throws a left jab but Barnett avoids it. Miocic tries for a left jab but Barnett moves out of range. Miocic throws a speculative right, but it is nowhere near hitting. Barnett seems to be waiting for Miocic to make a move. Backing out of range, Miocic circles tentatively. Barnett seems to be waiting for Miocic to make a move. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Miocic circles around Barnett. The fight slows as Barnett sits back and allows Miocic to circle. Stipe Miocic is looking really tired. Barnett counters a left jab by using a crisp jab. We have one minute of the round remaining. Miocic slams a crisp right into the gloves of Barnett, but can't follow up. Barnett doesn't press the issue, allowing Miocic to circle. Josh Barnett looks very tired out there. Advancing, Miocic counters a left jab by using a solid left. Time runs out and that's the end of the fight.</p><p> </p><p>

That round goes to Miocic, 10-9 on my card.</p><p> </p><p>

Swanson ends up grappling for supremacy with Mendes. Mendes is trying to push Swanson so that his back is up against the cage. Swanson ends up backed against the cage. Mendes stomps down on his opponent's foot. Mendes catches Swanson with a knee strike to the thigh. Mendes tries to dirty box Swanson, but finds himself out-wrestled and turned around so that he is the one against the cage. Swanson looks for a trip takedown. Mendes doesn't fight the takedown, he seems content to pull guard. Swanson attempts to pass guard. Mendes is ready for the attempt though, and keeps Swanson firmly in guard. Mendes tries to ensnare Swanson in a triangle. Swanson blocks the triangle attempt. We go past the halfway point of this round. Swanson looks to get past the guard. He finds himself unable to pass guard on this attempt. Mendes grabs hold of an arm and attempts a triangle choke on Swanson from the bottom of the guard. Swanson blocks the triangle attempt. There's under a minute left in this round. Swanson starts trying to work to get past the guard. He can't quite manage to get past guard on this attempt. Mendes drags Swanson in to close control, then hits him with a couple of short punches. Round one ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

An extremely close round, could have gone either way, but personally I'll give it to Swanson 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

Round two begins! Mendes counters a left jab by using a stinging left jab. Mendes comes in closer, looking to wrestle with Swanson. He pulls Swanson into a grapple. Mendes is trying to push Swanson so that his back is up against the cage. Mendes achieves it, pinning Swanson to the cage. Showing his ability to exert control, Mendes smothers Swanson up against the cage for about thirty seconds, wearing him down with occasional sharp punches to the ribs. Mendes tries to smother him against the cage with wrestling, but can't keep control of Swanson who is fighting it. Mendes tries to keep him up against the cage with wrestling, but Swanson reverses so that he is the one in control. Swanson smothers Mendes up against the cage while using the occasional short sharp punch to the body, keeping him stuck there for thirty seconds. We go past the halfway point of this round. With the cage trapping Mendes, Swanson looks to try and take him down. Mendes digs in and manages to defend the takedown, but Swanson does manage to get behind him. Mendes creates a little bit of space, and that's enough for him to circle away out of the grapple and back to the center. Mendes looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Swanson. Swanson moves in too, and they start to grapple. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Using his wrestling skills, Mendes is trying to push Swanson up against the cage. Mendes achieves it, pinning Swanson to the cage. Swanson waits for Mendes to throw an elbow, then uses wrestling to turn him around so that Mendes now has his back to the cage. Swanson tries to take Mendes down. Mendes shows stubborn resistance to the takedown, but Swanson does manage to slip behind him so that he has the back. Cub Swanson is breathing very hard. Time expires and we come to the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>

I have to give that round to Mendes, but only a 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

And here we go, round three! Both fighters come toe-to-toe and strike, but none of the strikes result in significant damage being done. Mendes looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Swanson uses movement to keep out reach, meaning Mendes cannot get close enough to grapple. An exchange of strikes goes nowhere. Mendes looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Swanson is pulled into a grapple. Using his wrestling skills, Mendes is trying to push Swanson up against the cage. Swanson ends up backed against the cage. Mendes shows his grappling ability by pinning Swanson up against the cage and keeps him there for about sixty seconds. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Mendes tries to smother Swanson against the cage with wrestling, but he reverses it and pushes Mendes against the cage instead. Cub Swanson looks very, very tired. Swanson hits a knee strike to the thigh. Having been stuck against the cage for a while without any progress, the referee brings them back to the center. Mendes is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. Keen to keep space between them, Swanson backs away. Swanson steps in but an exchange of strikes goes nowhere. Mendes comes in closer to press the issue. Chad Mendes doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. We're into the final minute of the round. Mendes, who is visibly tired, looks like he might want to get in close and wrestle with Swanson. Swanson finds himself pulled into a grappling contest. Mendes tries to wrestle Swanson backward and up against the cage. Swanson ends up backed against the cage. The time is up, and that's the end of round three.</p><p> </p><p>

Mendes is trying to push Swanson so that his back is up against the cage. Swanson ends up backed against the cage. Mendes pins Swanson up against the cage and works him over with small punches to the body for roughly sixty seconds. Chad Mendes looks like he is on the verge of exhaustion. Mendes tries to keep Swanson up against the cage for some dirty boxing, but Swanson reverses so that he is the one in control. Cub Swanson looks like he is completely out of gas. Swanson looks for a knee strike, but Mendes out-wrestles him and switches them around so that he is in the dominant position. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Mendes tries to hit Swanson with a knee strike, but Swanson takes the opportunity to switch it around so that he is in control and Mendes is the one backed against the cage. With the fighters having been stuck against the cage for quite a while, the referee bringing them back to the center. Mendes hops around from foot to foot, looking for an opening. The fight slows as Swanson sits back and allows Mendes to circle. There's under a minute left in this round. Mendes fakes a lunge. Swanson seems to be waiting for Mendes to make a move. The time runs out on round four.</p><p> </p><p>

Bagautinov looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Bagautinov grabs Johnson and pulls him into a grapple. Bagautinov has worked in the underhooks and looks to take Johnson down. Johnson cannot stop being lifted up and blasted with a Greco-Roman slam, he can only pull guard! Bagautinov attempts to pass guard. He can't find a way past the guard. Johnson secures an arm and tries to ensnare Bagautinov in a triangle. Bagautinov defends well against it. We go past the halfway point of this round. Bagautinov smothers Johnson with his body by pushing forward and down. Bagautinov punches down at Johnson, but they are easily taken on the gloves. Johnson uses his legs to push Bagautinov away, into a standing position. We're into the final minute of the round. Bagautinov tries to come in and secure a ground position. Bagautinov can't hold Johnson down and a scramble starts. Johnson manages to come out on top, with Bagautinov pulling guard. In guard, Johnson begins working to pass to side control. Bagautinov is ready for the attempt though, and keeps Johnson firmly in guard. The time runs out on round one.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number two begins! After a one-two combination narrowly misses, Bagautinov is able to strike back with a left. Bagautinov drops his shoulder as a feint, trying to draw a strike. Johnson chooses to shoot in on Bagautinov. Bagautinov saw the takedown coming, he tries to grab a guillotine. The takedown is too good, the attempted guillotine is lost. Johnson gets a single leg takedown! Bagautinov pulls guard off it. Johnson looks to pass guard and get side control. Bagautinov comfortably blocks the attempt and keeps Johnson in guard. Bagautinov grabs hold of an arm and attempts a triangle choke on Johnson from the bottom of the guard. Johnson shows great skill by twisting out of the triangle attempt and getting side control over Bagautinov. Johnson attempts to roll Bagautinov slightly and take his back. Johnson takes the back, Bagautinov could do nothing about it. We go past the halfway point of this round. Johnson starts hammering away at Bagautinov with right hands. Bagautinov is taking lots of shots, and can't seem to find a way out from this position! The referee pulls Johnson away, stopping the match!</p><p> </p><p>

The winner by way of TKO, and still UFC Flyweight Champion of the world Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson!</p><p> </p><p>

Round one begins! Oliveira counters a left jab by using a tasty jab - right cross combination. Miller counters a wayward low kick by catching it and shooting in for a takedown, and gets it! Oliveira pulls guard. Miller begins trying to pass the guard. He can't quite manage to get past guard on this attempt. Oliveira bursts into life and tries to scramble into a better position. The scramble results in Miller being on his back pulling half guard. Oliveira stands up out of half guard and backs off, wanting the fight to continue standing. Miller covers up to absorb a tidy combination of punches and then hits a jab. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. A straight left by Oliveira keeps Miller from advancing. Miller steps in to put some pressure on. Miller uses a smart combination to get Oliveira to cover up, then shoots in looking for a takedown. Oliveira attempts to avoid Miller as he shoots in. The takedown doesn't work, Oliveira saw it coming and got out of range. Oliveira comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Miller waits for Oliveira to step in, then he dives forward and hits a single leg. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Miller tries to pass the guard. He can't find a way past the guard. The time runs out on round one.</p><p> </p><p>

I have to give that round to Miller, but only a 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! Miller avoids a huge right hand. Oliveira keeps his cool as Miller throws a feint to the left. Oliveira tries for a right high kick but Miller moves out of range. Miller avoids a nice combination. Oliveira looks to move in and stand in the pocket. Oliveira and Miller get closer, both looking eager to engage at close range. Using head movement, Oliveira slips past a left jab and counters with a quick right hook, catching Miller perfectly and knocking him out!</p><p> </p><p>

We are underway! Jacare slips out of the way of a leg kick. Tavares isn't drawn in by Jacare feinting to his left. Jacare avoids a series of wayward big punches and counters with a quick right hand that lands right on the button, sending Tavares crumpling to the ground out cold!</p><p> </p><p>

There's the opening bell! Suddenly, Nogueira dives forward and tries to grab a leg! Nogueira isn't fast enough, Shogun side-stepped out of the way. Nogueira counters an errant left jab with a nice left hand. Shogun counters a left jab by using a barrage of big punches on Nogueira! Using head movement to slip past a left jab, Shogun hits a quick series of punches. Shogun throws a nice sequence of punches, but Nogueira covers up and none of the shots finds a home. Nogueira uses head movement to avoid a combination of punches, then counters with a stinging jab. An exchange of strikes doesn't lead to any real damage. In the pocket, Nogueira has to be alert to avoid a spinning back fist. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Shogun throws a barrage of big punches but Nogueira bobs and weaves, not letting any of them find a home. Nogueira covers up to absorb a tight combination of punches. Shogun backs away to create some more space. Nogueira counters a tight combination by hitting a nice jab. Nogueira steps back to avoid a barrage of big punches. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Moving in closer, Shogun looks like he wants to strike from the pocket. Nogueira tries to take down Shogun as he steps in, but he blocks it. Nogueira goes to the body and then to the head with a tidy combination to get Shogun to cover up, then shoots in. Shogun sees the takedown coming and tries to move. Nogueira doesn't get the takedown, Shogun avoided it. The time runs out on round one. That was a fun round to watch.</p><p> </p><p>

I think Shogun took that round, 10-9 on my score card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

And here we go, round two! Between rounds we could hear the corner of Shogun telling him to go right at Nogueira, hard and fast. Nogueira covers up in the face of a combination of short sharp punches, then fires back with a crisp left hand punch. Shogun throws a right kick to the body but Nogueira avoids it. Shogun counters a left jab by using a barrage of big punches on Nogueira! Using head movement to slip past a left jab, Shogun hits a quick series of punches. Mauricio Rua is breathing very hard. Shogun throws an excellent combination but Nogueira covers up well. Stepping back, Shogun creates a bit of distance. Moving in closer, a tired-looking Shogun apparently wants to strike from the pocket. Nogueira catches the advancing Shogun by surprise with a takedown. The clock runs down as Shogun is being smothered against the ground by Nogueira. Nogueira tries to break the guard of Shogun, perhaps looking for a leglock opportunity. Shogun stops Nogueira from applying it by keeping him tightly in guard. Shogun brings his legs up and tries to lock Nogueira in a triangle choke. Nogueira blocks the triangle attempt. Mauricio Rua seems to be fighting against exhaustion. We go past the halfway point of this round. Time slips away as Nogueira successfully keeps Shogun stuck against the ground. Nogueira lies on top of Shogun, basically smothering him. We're into the final minute of the round. Nogueira begins trying to pass guard and get a better position. Nogueira passes to side control with ease. In side control, Nogueira begins working to get a mount. Advancing his position, he gets mount. Round two is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Nogueira.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number three begins! A left jab misses and Shogun counters with a left. Shogun avoids a body kick. Shogun steps back to avoid a leg kick. Nogueira is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Shogun. Shogun finds himself pulled into a grappling contest. Nogueira is trying to push Shogun so that his back is up against the cage. Nogueira achieves it, pinning Shogun to the cage. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira looks very tired out there. Unable to get free, Shogun is smothered up against the cage for about sixty seconds. We move into the second half of this round. Nogueira tries to throw an elbow, but Shogun takes the opportunity to turn his opponent around so that Nogueira ends up backed against the cage instead. Shogun looks for a foot stomp but Nogueira takes the opportunity to turn them around so that he is in the dominant position. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira looks very, very tired.The weight cut that he did for this fight may be a factor in his fatigue. There's under a minute left in this round. The referee thinks there has been too little progress, and brings the two fighters back to the center. Nogueira throws a couple of ragged-looking jabs as a set up, then attempts a takedown. Shogun tries to step away from the takedown. Nogueira doesn't get the takedown, Shogun avoided it. Mauricio Rua looks totally gassed. Slowly moving in closer, a ragged-looking Nogueira wants to wrestle Shogun. Shogun is pulled into a grapple. The time expires on round three, and that is the end of the fight.</p><p> </p><p>

That round goes to Nogueira, 10-9 on my card.</p><p> </p><p>

The ring announcer is now giving the official scores. All three judges give 29-28.</p><p> </p><p>

Barao slips past a left jab and counters with a nasty-looking kick to the inside of the left knee. Barao uses a nice combination as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. Assuncao tries to step away from the takedown. Barao can't get the takedown, Assuncao was too quick to back away. Both fighters come in and throw strikes, there is no real damage done by either. Assuncao tries for a left jab but Barao moves out of range. Assuncao looks like he might be trying to get in close to clinch with Barao. He pulls Barao into a Muay Thai clinch. We move into the second half of this round. Using the clinch, Assuncao blasts Barao with a powerful knee to the cheek! Barao is knocked out!</p><p> </p><p>
