<strong>Welterweight Bout: Gunnar Nelson (11-0-1) vs. Omari Akhmedov (12-0)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

The fight begins! Akhmedov waits for a flurry of punches to stop, then hits a crisp left hand punch. Nelson counters a left jab by using a leg kick. Nelson counters an errant left jab with a flurry of quick punches. Akhmedov looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Nelson. Akhmedov walks into a big jab, landing right on the cheek. Nelson is getting in closer to Akhmedov, perhaps looking for a clinch. Akhmedov is pulled into a Muay Thai clinch. Nelson avoids an elbow that comes over the top of the clinch after missing a knee strike. Akhmedov uses his grappling to move from being stuck in a Muay Thai clinch to the collar-and-elbow position. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Nelson tries to take Akhmedov down. He gets a big takedown and he manages to get side control as a result. Nelson attempts to roll Akhmedov slightly and take his back. He takes the back! Nelson successfully gets both hooks in, and seems primed to finish. With both hooks in and therefore great control of the body, Nelson tries to finish Akhmedov off with a rear naked choke. Akhmedov stops Nelson from getting his arm under the chin and completing the choke. Akhmedov tries to improve his chances of survival by breaking free of the hooks, but they're too tight. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Nelson, with both hooks in, attempts to get a rear naked choke fully applied. Akhmedov doesn't allow the arm to go under his chin. Nelson, with both hooks in, attempts to get a rear naked choke fully applied. The rear naked choke is fully applied, but Nelson can't claim the submission because the round ends right then! Round one is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

Good round, that's the sort of action we like to see.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! Nelson counters an attempted spinning back fist with a clean jab. Nelson steps back to avoid a left jab. A left hand misses, allowing Nelson to counter with a kick to the inside of the left thigh. Omari Akhmedov is going to end up limping if he takes too many more of those strikes. Nelson avoids a jab. Akhmedov looks to move in and stand in the pocket. Akhmedov can't get near enough to engage, Nelson uses strikes to keep him out of range. Akhmedov is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. Nelson now has Akhmedov standing in the pocket. Checking a leg kick, Akhmedov counters back immediately with a solid left jab. We move into the second half of this round. Akhmedov tries for a left jab but Nelson uses head movement to avoid it. Checking a leg kick, Akhmedov counters back immediately with a left jab to the cheek. Akhmedov slips past a straight punch and then hits a huge right cross that knocks Nelson right off his feet! Akhmedov senses victory and starts to unload with punches! The punches rain down, but Nelson keeps composed and manages to pull half guard. Omari Akhmedov doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. Akhmedov wants to stand up, but cannot get out of half guard. Nelson reaches over and tries to lock Akhmedov in a guillotine. A guillotine choke is applied; Akhmedov isn't tapping out though! Nelson must not have it totally sunk in. Nelson releases the hold, perhaps having gassed his arms by squeezing for too long. Gunnar Nelson is breathing very hard. We're into the final minute of the round. Akhmedov tries to stand up, but can't get free of the guard. Akhmedov blocks Nelson as he tries a sweep from the guard. Round two is brought to an end as time runs out. That round certainly got the fans going.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Akhmedov.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

We are back underway! Akhmedov moves out of range of a flurry of punches. Nelson throws a barrage of big rights but Akhmedov is quick to move out of range. From the looks of things, I don't think Gunnar Nelson has much energy left. A jab misses, allowing Nelson to counter-strike with a nice left hand. Akhmedov counters a wayward left jab with a straight left. A left jab misses and Akhmedov strikes back with a jab. Akhmedov tries for a left jab but Nelson moves out of range. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Akhmedov tries for a left jab but Nelson moves out of range. Nelson slips out of the way of a jab. From the looks of things, I don't think Omari Akhmedov has much energy left. It may be that the amount of weight he cut for this fight has drained some of his energy. Akhmedov tries for a left jab but Nelson moves out of range. Nelson throws a couple of jabs, a set up for a tired-looking takedown attempt on Akhmedov. Akhmedov stuffs the takedown attempt and then pulls Nelson into a clinch. There's under a minute left in this round. The grapple breaks up after a short struggle, and the two fighters step apart. Akhmedov throws a swift jab but doesn't do any damage. Not letting up, Nelson quickly steps in closer to attack Akhmedov. Nelson, who is visibly tired, looks like he might want to get in close and wrestle with Akhmedov. Akhmedov is pulled into a grapple. Time runs out and that's the end of the fight.</p><p> </p><p>

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Akhmedov.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Flyweight Bout: Brad Pickett (23-8) vs. (#3) Ian McCall (12-4-1)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

We are underway! McCall counters a wayward left jab with a solid left jab. An attempted body kick misses and Pickett fires back with a nice three-punch combination. Pickett shoots in, looking for a takedown. McCall gets taken down by a single leg, and has to pull guard. Pickett lies on top of McCall, basically smothering him. Time slips away as Pickett successfully keeps McCall stuck against the ground. The clock runs down as McCall is being smothered against the ground by Pickett. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Pickett throws a few right hands as he takes a moment to plan ahead. Pickett throws a few right hands to the body. The clock runs down as McCall is being smothered against the ground by Pickett. There's under a minute left in this round. Pickett smothers McCall with his body by pushing forward and down. With no progress being made, the referee brings the fighters back to their feet. The time is up, and that's the end of round one. Really bad round, there was a whole lot of nothing going on there.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

We are back underway! A weak right kick is countered by Pickett with a left jab to the cheek. Pickett feints left and tries to get McCall to commit to a strike, but gets no joy. McCall steps in, feints a kick, then darts back out. Pickett avoids a right kick to the body and hits a clean left. Pickett steps back to avoid a tight combination of punches after falling for a clever feint. Pickett counters an errant left jab with a superb combination of left hook to the body and a big right cross. McCall drops a shoulder, trying to sucker Pickett in with a feint. McCall comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Pickett uses his strikes to stop McCall from getting too close. We pass the halfway mark of this round. McCall avoids a quick jab and hits an uppercut that knocks Pickett off his feet! Almost immediately Pickett has shaken it off and is ready for McCall. McCall looks to get on top of Pickett. McCall dives in, but Pickett pushes him away and starts to scramble. The scramble ends with both fighters standing, facing each other. McCall looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Pickett. McCall can't get near enough to engage, Pickett uses strikes to keep him out of range. We're into the final minute of the round. McCall looks to move in and stand in the pocket. McCall can't get near enough to engage, Pickett uses strikes to keep him out of range. Pickett catches a right body kick and goes for a takedown, and gets it! McCall has to pull guard. The time is up, and that's the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>

Sensational round; I don't think there's a single person left sitting down in the entire building!</p><p> </p><p>

That was a very close round, but I think Pickett just about edged it.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

As his corner gives a pep talk, McCall is getting more and more psyched up....it's now or never, he has to go for the finish!</p><p> </p><p>

We are back underway! From what we could hear of his corner, it sounds like Pickett has been instructed to try and get McCall to the floor in this round. Pickett swiftly avoids a barrage of big punches, having fallen for a feint. McCall throws a barrage of big right hands but Pickett moves out of range. Pickett steps back to avoid a kick to the body, having been suckered in with a feint. Pickett slips out of the way of a combination of short sharp punches. McCall looks to move in and stand in the pocket. Pickett tries to counter McCall with a right hand, but it doesn't hit the target. McCall throws three punches in quick succession, but Pickett was out of range. Pickett presses in closer to attack. Pickett shoots in, looking for a takedown. The takedown doesn't work, McCall stuffed it. We move into the second half of this round. Pickett avoids a nice combination. Pickett throws three punches in quick succession, but McCall was out of range. Not letting up, McCall quickly steps in closer to attack Pickett. A jab misses, allowing McCall to counter-strike with a tasty jab - right cross combination. We have one minute of the round remaining. McCall looks to move in and stand in the pocket. Pickett uses his strikes to stop McCall from getting too close. Pickett hops around from foot to foot, looking for an opening. McCall presses in closer to attack. We reach the time limit and this fight is over.</p><p> </p><p>

I have to give that round to McCall, but only a 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

Round one begins! Johnson slips out of the way of a combination of short sharp punches. A straight right fails to land and Guillard is able to fire back with a tasty jab - right cross combination. Guillard throws a barrage of big rights but Johnson is quick to move out of range. Johnson catches a right leg kick and goes for a takedown but Guillard stuffs it. Guillard fakes shooting in, but Johnson doesn't fall for it. Johnson counters an attempted body kick by scoring with a clean jab. We move into the second half of this round. A right jab misses and Guillard strikes back with a straight left. Backing out of range, Guillard circles tentatively. Johnson presses in closer to attack. Johnson comes in with a couple of jabs, using them as cover so that he can shoot in. Johnson gets caught with a right though, and he is momentarily wobbly! A right hand misses, allowing Guillard to counter with a swift right kick to the leg. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. A straight right by Johnson keeps Guillard from advancing. Not letting up, Guillard quickly steps in closer to attack Johnson. Moving forward, Guillard counters a right jab with a sharp body kick. Time expires and we come to the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! Moving forward, Johnson counters a series of wayward big punches with a stinging right jab. An errant jab sets Johnson up to counter-strike with a nice jab. Johnson shoots in for a takedown. Johnson goes under an attempted counter right hand. The takedown is successful, Guillard pulls guard. Johnson throws a few left hands, but is mainly trying to catch his breath. Guillard works some separation, then tries to quickly scramble his way into a better position. The scramble results in Johnson being on his back pulling half guard. Guillard begins trying to get his leg free of the half guard. Johnson keeps Guillard in half guard. Johnson tries to ensnare an arm. Guillard doesn't let his arm get taken. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Guillard attempts to pass half guard and gain a better position. He can't find a way past half guard. Johnson attempts to grab an arm of Guillard from the bottom of half guard. Guillard doesn't let his arm get taken. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Guillard unloads with some big right hands, but Johnson deals with them comfortably. Johnson tries to lock onto an arm from the bottom of half guard. Guillard doesn't let his arm get taken. The time runs out on round two.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number three begins! A tidy combination doesn't find a home, giving Johnson the opportunity to counter with a solid right jab. Johnson counters a weak right kick with a straight right. Johnson counters a superman punch with a crisp right hand punch. A right jab misses and Guillard strikes back with a kick to the inside of the right thigh. A jab doesn't find its intended target, allowing Guillard to fire back with a leg kick. Strikes to the leg like that will take their toll. Melvin Guillard doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. Johnson sneaks a glance at his corner. Guillard steps in closer to force the issue. We are now at the halfway point of the round. A jab misses, allowing Johnson to counter-strike with a right jab to the cheek. A speculative left hand from Johnson doesn't find a home. Guillard quickly gets in closer, looking to attack. Moving in closer, a tired-looking Guillard apparently wants to strike from the pocket. Johnson now has Guillard standing in the pocket. Johnson, standing in the pocket, has to check a leg kick. Stepping back, Johnson creates a bit of distance. We're into the final minute of the round. A flurry of rights and lefts miss, allowing Johnson to hit back with a straight right. Johnson throws a looping punch, but Guillard avoids it. The fight slows as Guillard sits back and allows Johnson to circle. The fight comes to an end as the time limit expires.</p><p> </p><p>

Incredibly close round, but Guillard came out just ahead on my score card.</p><p> </p><p>

A good sprawl stops the takedown, and Manuwa is brought down to the mat in a loose front facelock. Gustafsson unloads with massive punches, Manuwa is getting destroyed! With Manuwa taking a beating, the referee has to stop the match!</p><p> </p><p>

Walsh ends up backed against the cage. Aubin-Mercier tries to take Walsh down. Aubin-Mercier tries hard but cannot get Walsh off of his feet. Walsh tries to uses a whizzer to turn Aubin-Mercier, but is blocked from doing so. With the cage trapping Walsh, Aubin-Mercier looks to try and take him down. Walsh shows stubborn resistance and Aubin-Mercier cannot complete the takedown. A whizzer almost allows Walsh to create enough space to get free, but Aubin-Mercier shuts that opportunity down. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Aubin-Mercier tries to take Walsh down. Walsh will not go down, he blocks the takedown despite the best efforts of Aubin-Mercier. Round two begins! Walsh feints rushing in, but withdraws. Aubin-Mercier avoids a flurry of rights and lefts. Aubin-Mercier avoids a flurry of punches. Aubin-Mercier isn't drawn in by Walsh feinting to his left. A speculative right hand from Walsh doesn't find a home. Not letting Walsh settle, Aubin-Mercier moves in closer. Aubin-Mercier throws out a couple of jabs as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. Aubin-Mercier gets caught with a right hand though, and his wobbly legs can't support him...down he goes! Richard Walsh looks very tired out there. Walsh knows that this is a golden opportunity, and quickly pounces on Aubin-Mercier, looking to finish him off by raining down punches! Aubin-Mercier shows great instincts, pulling half guard to put a halt to the shower of punches. Walsh throws some small strikes, but is clearly just taking a moment to try and catch his breath. Aubin-Mercier tries to ensnare Walsh in a guillotine. Walsh blocks it. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Walsh fires off a handful of punches, each easily being blocked with gloves. Aubin-Mercier tries to ensnare Walsh in a guillotine. Aubin-Mercier gets the guillotine but despite his best efforts he cannot force the tap out! It looks like the choke is not perfectly applied, and that is allowing Walsh to breathe. The hold is released, Aubin-Mercier realised that he was gassing his arms on an attempt that wasn't going to finish the fight. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Walsh fires off a few punches, but they aren't thrown with any great force. Aubin-Mercier drags Walsh in to close control, then hits him with a couple of short punches. Both fighters come toe-to-toe and strike, but none of the strikes result in significant damage being done. Aubin-Mercier counters a wayward low right kick with a left jab to the cheek. There's a takedown attempt from Aubin-Mercier. Walsh tries to counter with a right hand, but is too slow. Aubin-Mercier gets a single leg takedown! Walsh pulls guard off it. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Aubin-Mercier looks to get past the guard. Aubin-Mercier gets past, but Walsh stops him at half guard. Aubin-Mercier reaches over and tries to lock Walsh in an arm triangle. Walsh blocks it. Walsh tries a sweep from the bottom of half guard, but doesn't budge Aubin-Mercier. We are underway! St. Preux darts in and out of range quickly, trying to get Silva to commit to throwing a strike. Silva avoids a jab and scores with a clean left. Silva throws a combination of rights and lefts, using them as cover so that he can shoot in. Silva goes under an attempted counter left hand. The takedown is successful, St. Preux couldn't quite stay on his feet. St. Preux winds up seated, his back to the cage, with Silva pressing onto him. Silva pounds away, but is unable to land many clean shots on St. Preux. Not liking his options, Silva looks to get a better position over St. Preux. Silva shows his ground skills and gets full mount! Silva pounds away on St. Preux with elbow strikes, landing several good shots in the process. That strike has opened up a noticeable gash above the eye of St. Preux. Silva fires away with punches, and St. Preux is stung by several big shots. We go past the halfway point of this round. Silva pounds away with punches from the mount, but doesn't really do a great deal of damage. Silva fires away with big elbows, but St. Preux covers up and doesn't take any undue damage. St. Preux tries to sweep Silva out of mount but can't do it. Silva pounds away with punches, but doesn't do much damage, if any, St. Preux covers up well. St. Preux tries to roll Silva, but only succeeds in giving up his back! St. Preux is in increasing trouble, as Silva gets both hooks in. Silva, with both hooks in, attempts to get a rear naked choke fully applied. The rear naked choke is fully applied, Silva has St. Preux flattened out completely, there is no option but to tap out!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

We are underway! Shields throws a feint. Shields tries for a left jab but Lombard moves out of range. Shields slips out of the way of a jab. Lombard looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Shields. Shields seems happy to engage with Lombard in the pocket. Shields comes in, looking for a quick double leg takedown from close range. Shields can't get the takedown, Lombard defends it well and pulls them into a clinch. Lombard attempts to set up a judo-based throw to take Shields to the ground. Lombard uses a nice inside leg trip and Shields is forced to pull guard! Lombard attempts to pass guard and gain a better position. Lombard isn't able to pass guard on this attempt. Grabbing an arm, Shields attempts to lock on a triangle choke. Lombard blocks the triangle attempt. We move into the second half of this round. Lombard attempts to pass guard and gain a better position. Shields is ready for the attempt though, and keeps Lombard firmly in guard. Shields tries to ensnare an arm. Shields cannot secure the arm. We have one minute of the round remaining. Lombard begins trying to pass guard and get a better position. Lombard struggles but cannot find a way past and remains stuck in guard. Time expires and we come to the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

That round goes to Lombard, 10-9 on my card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

Round two begins! Lombard steps back to avoid a left jab. Shields feints to the right, trying to draw Lombard into throwing a strike. A nicely executed one-two combination sets up a takedown attempt from Lombard. Shields sees the takedown coming and tries to move. Lombard can't get the takedown, Shields was too quick to back away. Shields feints to the right, trying to draw Lombard into throwing a strike. Shields throws out a couple of jabs as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. Lombard first stuffs the takedown attempt, then manages to wrestle Shields the the floor! Shields has to pull half guard. Lombard attempts to pass half guard. Lombard struggles but cannot find a way past and remains stuck in half guard. Shields attempts a guillotine choke from the bottom of half guard. Lombard defends it well. We move into the second half of this round. Lombard attempts to pass half guard. Shields doesn't let Lombard get his leg free, and so half guard remains in place. Shields tries to sweep Lombard. Shields deeply sweeps Lombard, ending on top in side control. We're into the final minute of the round. Shields starts trying to work to go from side control to mount. Shields mounts Lombard. The time runs out on round two.</p><p> </p><p>

I have to give that round to Shields, but only a 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

And here we go, round three! It sounded like his corner told Shields to attempt to get Lombard to the floor in this round. Shields grabs a body kick and goes for the takedown, and gets it, Shields is in half guard. In half guard, Shields begins working to get side control. Lombard comfortably blocks the attempt and keeps Shields in half guard. Lombard bursts into life and tries to scramble into a better position. Shields seizes the opportunity, Lombard was too slow and gets caught in side control. Shields attempts to move to mount. He is too good for Lombard, and has mount. Shields pounds away with elbows, but doesn't do much damage, if any, Lombard covers up well. Lombard tries to roll Shields, but only succeeds in giving up his back! We go past the halfway point of this round. Shields gets both hooks in, and is now in a really dominant position. With both hooks in and therefore great control of the body, Shields tries to finish Lombard off with a rear naked choke. Lombard defends himself well against the choke. Lombard struggles against Shields but cannot get himself free from the hooks. Shields attempts to complete a rear naked choke, having both hooks fully in. Lombard stops Shields from getting his arm under the chin and completing the choke. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. With both hooks in and therefore great control of the body, Shields tries to finish Lombard off with a rear naked choke. Lombard doesn't allow the arm to go under his chin. Jake Shields doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. With both hooks in and therefore great control of the body, Shields tries to finish Lombard off with a rear naked choke. The rear naked choke is in deep, but Lombard only has to survive a few seconds before the round ends! The time runs out and that round is over, and so is the fight.</p><p> </p><p>

The fight begins! Jury slips out of the way of a combination of short sharp punches. Sanchez slips out of the way of a jab. Jury darts in, feints a jab, darts back out. Jury gets Sanchez with a punch to the ribs, but it lacked power. Not letting up, Sanchez quickly steps in closer to attack Jury. Sanchez looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Jury tries to counter with a takedown, but Sanchez defended it well. An exchange of blows doesn't really produce any damage or a clear advantage. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Jury uses a right hook to the body, but misses. Sanchez steps in closer to force the issue. Sanchez uses a nice combination as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. He has the takedown! It's a single leg, and Jury has to pull guard. Sanchez attempts to pass guard. Jury keeps Sanchez in guard. Jury throws out some punches, but Sanchez leans back to avoid them. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Sanchez seems to be trying to loosen the guard in an attempt to create a leglock opportunity. Loosening the guard, Sanchez is able to secure a leg and apply a heel hook, Jury has to tap!</p><p> </p><p>

And here we go! Condit slips out of the way of a jab. Moving in closer, Woodley looks like he may want to wrestle Condit. Woodley can't get close enough to grapple, Condit keeps him away with strikes. Woodley looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Condit tries to counter by dropping down and going for a single leg, but Woodley defended it well. Woodley comes in closer, looking to wrestle with Condit. Condit fires off a strike first, but the impact is taken by the gloves of Woodley. Woodley catches an attempted body kick and goes for the takedown, and gets it! Condit has to pull guard. Woodley fires off a few punches, but they aren't thrown with any great force. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Woodley fires off a handful of punches, each easily being blocked with gloves. Woodley feels Condit prepare to scramble for position and makes sure it doesn't happen. Woodley tries to pass the guard. Condit keeps his guard secure. Condit attempts to lock on a triangle choke. Woodley blocks the triangle attempt. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. The lengthy period of stalemate results in the referee standing them both back up. Woodley is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Condit. Woodley grabs Condit and pulls him into a grapple. Time expires and we come to the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

That round goes to Woodley, 10-9 on my card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

We are back underway! Judging from what we heard from his corner, Condit is looking to avoid strikes and take it to the ground in this round. Condit counters a left jab with a superb combination of three quick punches to the body and a great right cross. Woodley is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Condit. Condit is pulled into a grapple. Using his wrestling skills, Woodley is trying to push Condit up against the cage. Woodley achieves it, pinning Condit to the cage. Showing his ability to exert control, Woodley smothers Condit up against the cage for thirty seconds or so. Smothered against the cage, Condit is stuck there, unable to do anything, for roughly thirty seconds. Condit gets caught with a knee to the inside of the thigh. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Showing his ability to exert control, Woodley smothers Condit up against the cage for about thirty seconds, wearing him down with occasional sharp punches to the ribs. The referee decides that the grappling against the cage has been going on too long, and he brings them back to the center. Woodley steps in but an exchange of strikes goes nowhere. Condit doesn't let Woodley settle, stepping in closer to impose himself. Condit looks to move in and stand in the pocket. Woodley seems happy to engage with Condit in the pocket. Moving in closer, Woodley looks like he may want to wrestle Condit. Condit finds himself pulled into a grappling contest. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Woodley is trying to push Condit so that his back is up against the cage. Woodley achieves it, pinning Condit to the cage. Woodley has gotten underhooks in and is looking to take Condit to the ground. The takedown doesn't work, Condit blocked it and then turns it so that Woodley is the one against the cage. Woodley waits for Condit to lift a leg to attempt a foot stomp, then turns him around so that he now has his back to the cage. Round two ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

Round three begins! They exchange strikes, but neither fighter inflicts any real damage. Both fighters advance and strike, but neither hits anything. Woodley sees a right body kick coming, grabs it, shoots in for a takedown, and gets it, Woodley is in half guard. Woodley stands and gets out of half guard, then backs off, wanting the fight standing. Condit comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Condit is now standing in the pocket. Woodley dodges a body kick and returns fire with a clean left jab. Woodley, in the pocket, throws a vicious right uppercut but Condit covers up and absorbs it. Tyron Woodley looks very tired out there. We move into the second half of this round. Slowly moving in closer, a ragged-looking Woodley wants to wrestle Condit. Condit is pulled into a grapple. Woodley is trying to muscle Condit up against the cage. Condit ends up backed against the cage. Carlos Condit is looking really tired. Woodley tries to press him up against the cage, but finds it hard to keep any sort of real control. Woodley suddenly finds a standing guillotine choke slapped on him! The guillotine is fully sunk in, Woodley has no option but to tap out!</p><p> </p><p>

Carlos Condit takes the victory by way of submission!</p><p> </p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! Harris avoids a jab. Grujic tries for a left jab but Harris moves out of range. Harris steps back to avoid a left jab. Grujic narrowly misses Harris with a right uppercut. Harris quickly gets in closer, looking to attack. Harris throws a couple of wild punches as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. Grujic tries to time a counter right hand, but can't get it. Grujic cannot stop the takedown, and has to pull guard. Harris looks to pass guard and get side control. Harris passes to half guard. Harris is trying to get out of half guard and into a better position. Grujic keeps his half guard secure. Grujic gets some separation and tries to scramble for position. He may regret that choice, as it gives Harris the perfect opportunity to get side control. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Harris starts trying to work to use side control as a way to get behind Grujic. He shows excellent control to move Grujic over and take his back. Harris increases his control by getting both hooks in. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Harris, with both hooks fully in, tries to get the rear naked choke applied. Taisumov feints an attack, keeping Tibau on his toes. Taisumov throws a looping punch, but Tibau avoids it. Not letting up, Tibau quickly steps in closer to attack Taisumov. Taisumov counters a right jab with a swift right kick to the leg. Tibau counters an errant left jab with a right jab to the cheek. We go past the halfway point of this round. Taisumov avoids a jab and scores with a quick series of punches. A jab misses and Taisumov counters with a right kick to the thigh. Strikes to the leg like that will take their toll. Tibau shoots in for a takedown. Taisumov attempts to avoid Tibau as he shoots in. Taisumov avoids the takedown attempt. Taisumov comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Seeing an opportunity, Tibau goes straight into a takedown, putting Taisumov down into guard. There's under a minute left in this round. Tibau begins trying to pass the guard. Taisumov can't fend off the effort, and can only stop Tibau at half guard. Tibau tries to lock Taisumov into a kimura. Taisumov doesn't allow the kimura to be applied. Tibau backs away...and almost falls down! I think that last strike really hurt him! Taisumov throws a vicious right uppercut to try and finish Tibau, but he is just able to avoid it. Tibau steps back to avoid a flurry of punches. Tibau uses a nice combination as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. Tibau goes under an attempted counter right hand. Tibau has the takedown! Taisumov pulls half guard. Tibau attempts to pass half guard. Taisumov keeps his half guard secure. Tibau blocks Taisumov as he tries a transition to full guard. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Tibau attempts to arm triangle Taisumov from the top of half guard. Tibau gets the arm triangle fully applied! Tibau loses the hold! Somehow Taisumov got himself free. That was incredibly close to a finish though. Taisumov tries to sweep Tibau but can't do it. Tibau attempts to arm triangle Taisumov from the top of half guard. The arm triangle is locked in, tight enough that Taisumov has to tap out!</p><p> </p><p>

Round one begins! Bezerra throws a feint. Bezerra counters a left jab with a powerful right hook to the body. Siler bobs and weaves, trying to get Bezerra to commit. Bezerra uses a nice combination as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. The takedown doesn't work, Siler stuffed it. Siler steps in but an exchange of strikes goes nowhere. Bezerra quickly gets in closer, looking to attack. Bezerra feints an attack, keeping Siler on his toes. Siler throws a barrage of big right hands but Bezerra moves out of range. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Siler glances a strike off the side of the shoulder. Bezerra steps in closer to force the issue. Bezerra uses a nice combination as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. Siler tries to step away from the takedown. Siler avoids the takedown attempt. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Bezerra hops around from foot to foot, looking for an opening. Siler steps in to put some pressure on. Siler counters a one-two combination with a barrage of big right hands, forcing Bezerra back! The time runs out on round one. You can hear some boos from the audience, they weren't impressed with that round at all.</p><p> </p><p>

That round goes to Siler, 10-9 on my card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! An attempted body kick misses and Siler fires back with a clean left. Moving in closer, Siler looks like he may want to wrestle Bezerra. Bezerra is pulled into a grapple. Siler hits Bezerra with some short strikes to the side of the head while grappling. Siler is looking to muscle Bezerra back against the cage. Siler can't do it though, and Bezerra gets a more dominant position in the grapple instead. Bezerra is trying to push Siler so that his back is up against the cage. Siler ends up backed against the cage. Siler avoids a foot stomp attempt. A few short punches to the ribs land, as Siler fights back. Bezerra attempts to wrestle Siler to the ground. Bezerra gets the takedown! Siler pulls guard. We move into the second half of this round. Bezerra punches down at Siler, but they are easily taken on the gloves. Siler reaches up and tries to lock up an arm. A kimura attempt almost catches Bezerra, but Siler eventually has to settle for using it to sweep to side control. Siler tries to get into the mount position. Bezerra keeps Siler from mounting him. Bezerra tries to break free and scramble for position, but Siler keeps him trapped. Rony Mariano Bezerra is looking really tired. We have one minute of the round remaining. Siler throws a few right hands to the body. The time runs out on round two.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Bezerra.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

We are back underway! Siler throws a leg kick but Bezerra avoids it. Siler throws a combination of rights and lefts, using them as cover so that he can shoot in. Bezerra tries to avoid the takedown. The takedown is unsuccessful, Bezerra avoided Siler. Siler comes in closer, looking to wrestle with Bezerra. Bezerra uses movement to keep out reach, meaning Siler cannot get close enough to grapple. Siler uses a right hook to the body, but misses. It seems that Bezerra is happy to let Siler circle for the moment. There's a takedown attempt from Siler. Bezerra tries to avoid the takedown. Bezerra avoids the takedown attempt. Rony Mariano Bezerra seems to be fighting against exhaustion. We pass the halfway mark of this round. A speculative right hand from Siler doesn't find a home. Time slips away as Bezerra doesn't press Siler, allowing him to circle. A flicked jab from Siler only finds gloves. The fight slows as Bezerra sits back and allows Siler to circle. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Siler comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Bezerra now has Siler standing in the pocket. Standing in the pocket, Siler chooses to shoot in for a double leg on Bezerra. Bezerra stuffs the takedown, but gets pushed up against the cage instead. The time expires on round three, and that is the end of the fight.</p><p> </p><p>

A wayward right kick to the body allows Maldonado to hit a couple of tight angled jabs and a scorching right hook to the body. Maldonado misses with an attempted right hook to the body. Villante comes in closer to press the issue. Maldonado steps back to avoid a leg kick. Maldonado counters an attempted body kick with a clean jab. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Villante covers up to absorb a tidy combination of punches and then hits a crisp left hand punch. There's a short stalemate as both fighters advance and throw strikes, but neither hits. Advancing, Villante counters a left jab by using a right kick to the thigh. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. There's a takedown attempt from Villante. Villante gets caught with a right though, and he is momentarily wobbly! Maldonado counters an errant left jab with a nice jab. Round one ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Maldonado.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

We are back underway! Villante tries for a left jab but Maldonado moves out of range. Villante steps back to avoid a barrage of big punches. Villante chooses to shoot in on Maldonado. Maldonado stuffs the takedown attempt. Maldonado tries for a left jab but Villante moves out of range. Maldonado is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. Strikes from Villante keep Maldonado from stepping in too close. Maldonado avoids a kick to the leg and hits a crisp jab. We move into the second half of this round. Moving in closer, Maldonado looks like he wants to strike from the pocket. Maldonado can't close the distance, Villante keeps him away with strikes. A left jab misses and Villante counters with a left. Maldonado comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Standing his ground, Villante looks happy to engage Maldonado in the pocket. There's a double leg attempt from Villante, from the pocket. Maldonado tries to time a counter right hand, but can't get it. The takedown is completed, Maldonado is on his back and pulls guard. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Villante smothers Maldonado with his body by pushing forward and down. Round two is brought to an end as time runs out. Good round, that's the sort of action we like to see.</p><p> </p><p>

And here we go, round three! Between rounds, his corner told Villante to watch for strikes but to be aware of takedown opportunities. A left hand misses, allowing Maldonado to counter with a nice left hand. Maldonado slips past a left jab and fires back with a jab. Villante steps back to avoid a one-two combination. Villante throws out a couple of jabs as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. Maldonado sees the takedown coming and tries to move. Villante can't get the takedown, Maldonado was too quick to back away. Villante covers up in the face of a combination of short sharp punches, then fires back with a kick to the inside of the left leg. Fabio Maldonado won't want to take too many unchecked strikes to the legs like that. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Maldonado avoids a kick to the leg and hits a couple of shots to the body and a nice right uppercut. Villante comes in with a couple of jabs, using them as cover so that he can shoot in. The takedown doesn't work, Maldonado stuffed it. A straight left fails to land and Villante is able to fire back with a vicious leg kick. We're into the final minute of the round. Maldonado jabs to get Villante to cover up, then works the body with a couple of nice shots. Villante just avoids a combination of short sharp punches and hits a stinging left jab. Time runs out and that's the end of the fight.</p><p> </p><p>

I have to give that round to Maldonado, but only a 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

And here we go! Parke feints rushing in, but Santos doesn't fall for it. A straight left fails to land and Santos is able to fire back with a solid left jab. A quick exchange of strikes produces nothing worth mentioning. Santos backs away from Parke, creating some space between them. Parke throws a left jab but Santos avoids it. Backing out of range, Parke circles tentatively. Not letting up, Santos quickly steps in closer to attack Parke. Santos throws a couple of jabs, then chooses to shoot in on Parke. Parke stuffs the takedown attempt and then pulls Santos into a clinch. We move into the second half of this round. Parke is looking to muscle Santos back against the cage. Parke doesn't manage it though, as Santos slips out of the grapple and gets away. They come together and strike, but neither can land a clean shot. A jab misses and Santos counters with a crisp left hand punch. A flicked jab from Parke only finds gloves. Not letting Parke settle, Santos moves in closer. There's under a minute left in this round. Santos shoots in for a takedown. The takedown is stuffed, so Santos has to go to settle for pushing Parke up against the cage. Santos looks for a foot stomp, but Parke is fighting too hard and it makes it impossible to balance properly to deliver the strike. The time runs out on round one.</p><p> </p><p>

An extremely close round, could have gone either way, but personally I'll give it to Santos 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

Round two begins! Between rounds we could hear the corner of Parke telling him to be wary of Santos trying takedowns. Parke feints rushing in, but withdraws. Parke avoids a low kick. Parke slips past a left jab and fires back with a crisp left hand punch. Parke throws a left jab but Santos avoids it. They come together and strike, but neither can land a clean shot. From the missed strikes they clinch. Santos tries to wrestle Parke backward and up against the cage. Santos manages it, and controls Parke up against the cage. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Santos attempts to establish some dominance with his wrestling, but Parke is too hard to keep controlled against the cage. Parke catches an unsuspecting Santos in a guillotine, and falls backward to apply even more pressure! Santos works a hand in and pulls free before the guillotine can be fully sunk in. Santos starts trying to work to get past the guard. Parke keeps his guard secure. Parke secures an arm and tries to ensnare Santos in a triangle. Santos doesn't let Parke get it. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Santos throws a few right hands, but is mainly trying to catch his breath. Santos looks to get past the guard. Advancing his position fairly easily, he passes to side control. Round two is brought to an end as time runs out. That was an exciting round, hopefully the fighters will continue with that pace in the next.</p><p> </p><p>

That was a close round, but I'm giving it to Parke, 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

Round three begins! Santos counters a left jab by hitting a kick to the side of the ribs. Santos counters a left jab with a series of lefts. An exchange of strikes doesn't really lead to anything. Parke drops his shoulder and feints to step in, but Santos isn't buying it. Parke avoids a jab. Advancing, Parke counters a left jab by using a clean jab. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Parke steps back to avoid a left jab. Leonardo Santos looks very tired out there. Santos misses with an attempted right hook to the body. The fight slows as Parke sits back and allows Santos to circle. Slowed down by physical tiredness, Santos still looks to get in close and strike from the pocket. Santos is in the pocket, ready to attack Parke. Santos catches Parke with a solid jab. We're into the final minute of the round. Working from the pocket, Santos hits several hard right hands! Parke looks shaken! He appears to be on rubbery legs after that last strike! Instinctively, the groggy Parke drops down and goes for a takedown. Parke finds his takedown blocked with a sprawl, and Santos promptly wrestles him to the ground, ending up on top, in guard. Santos throws a few right hands as he takes a moment to plan ahead. The fight comes to an end as the time limit expires.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Santos.</p><p> </p><p>

Ferreira gets caught by the arm triangle! It's deep, but he just won't quit! No! He breaks free. That was really close. Ferreira tries to pull guard on Dollaway but doesn't get anywhere with the attempt. There's under a minute left in this round. Dollaway looks to get a mount. Slipping past a left jab, Ferreira hits a barrage of big left hands, forcing Dollaway back! Breathing very hard, Cezar Ferreira is looking ragged. We move into the second half of this round. Dollaway backs off, looking extremely dazed...that last shot may have knocked him loopy! Ferreira tries to finish him off with a left head kick, but it misses by inches. Dollaway steps back to avoid a right jab. Despite being tired, Ferreira looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Dollaway. Ferreira is now standing in the pocket. Ferreira tries for a body kick but Dollaway sees it coming and avoids it. Using head movement, Dollaway slips past a right jab and counters with a flurry of quick punches to sting Ferreira. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Ferreira gets hit with a crisp jab to the jaw, rocking his head back. Dollaway scores with a flurry of quick lefts. Ferreira uses head movement to cause a right jab to sail harmlessly by. Time runs out and that's the end of the fight.</p><p> </p><p>

An attempted body kick misses, giving Johnson the opportunity to counter with a crisp jab. Johnson throws a couple of jabs, then chooses to shoot in on Laprise. Laprise sees the takedown coming and tries to move. Johnson doesn't get the takedown, Laprise avoided it. Johnson avoids a leg kick and scores with a clean jab. Laprise comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Johnson tries to counter with a takedown, but Laprise defended it well. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Laprise looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Johnson. Johnson sees a chance to dive for a single leg, but Laprise is able to defend against it. Stepping in, Laprise hits Johnson with a superb combination of left hook to the body and a big right cross. A left jab misses and Laprise strikes back with a scything low kick to the legs. Kajan Johnson won't want to take too many unchecked strikes to the legs like that. There's under a minute left in this round. Laprise looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Johnson. Johnson lets Laprise get closer. Johnson backs away to create some more space. Laprise is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. Johnson sees a chance to dive for a single leg, but Laprise is able to defend against it. Time expires and we come to the end of round one. I think Laprise took that round, 10-9 on my score card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

We are back underway! Judging from what we heard from his corner, Johnson is looking to get the fight to the ground ASAP. Johnson slips out of the way of a body kick. Most of the fighters are booing loudly now, that really was a very premature stoppage and Johnson is quite rightly furious!</p><p> </p><p>

Theodorou counters an errant left jab with a pair of nice shots to the body. A speculative right hand from Taleb doesn't find a home. Theodorou presses in closer to attack. Theodorou avoids a huge right hand and hits a barrage of hard right hands, enough to put Taleb down! Theodorou quickly pounces, looking to rain down punches on the stunned Taleb! Theodorou pounds away on Taleb, landing several great shots that rock Taleb! With punches raining down, Taleb can only pull Theodorou down into side control to survive. Breathing very hard, Elias Theodorou is looking ragged. Theodorou punches down at Taleb, but they are easily taken on the gloves. We move into the second half of this round. Theodorou looks to get a mount. Taleb can't fend off his opponent and is mounted. Theodorou fires away with punches, but Taleb deals with them fairly well. Theodorou pounds away on Taleb with elbows, but few of the shots lands clean. Theodorou unloads with some big elbows, but Taleb deals with them comfortably. Elias Theodorou looks like he doesn't have a lot left to give. Theodorou controls Taleb, who was trying to wriggle to half guard. We're into the final minute of the round. Theodorou pounds away with punches, but doesn't do much damage, if any, Taleb covers up well. Taleb tries a sweep from the bottom of the mount, but gets rolled and Theodorou has his back! The time runs out on round one.</p><p> </p><p>

We are back underway! A brutal flying knee from Taleb hits Theodorou, sending him crashing down to the ground, out cold!</p><p> </p><p>

Kelly tries to wrestle Harris backward and up against the cage. Harris ends up backed against the cage. Kelly steps back from Harris and looks to unleash some strikes. Kelly uses head movement to dodge a jab, and counters with a clean punch. A left jab misses, Kelly counters with a jab. Harris slips past a straight punch and hits a clean punch. Kelly lets a jab sail wide and counter-strikes with a series of quick, sharp punches. Good head movement allows Harris to avoid a wildly thrown right hand. Not comfortable in the pocket, Harris steps back and creates some space. Both fighters fire off strikes, but neither does any significant damage. We pass the halfway mark of this round. An exchange of strikes doesn't lead to any real damage. Having stepped in close to throw their strikes, they end up clinched. Wanting to take it to the ground, Harris attempts to drag Kelly down into his guard. The attempt doesn't work, Kelly blocked it and takes control of the clinch as a result. Kelly tries to wrestle Harris backward and up against the cage. He does so, and now has Harris pinned to the cage. Kelly breaks the grapple and prepares to launch some strikes at Harris. Kelly lets a jab sail wide and counter-strikes with a straight left. Slipping past a left jab, Kelly hits a solid left jab. Harris uses head movement to dodge a punch, then strikes back with a solid punch. We have one minute of the round remaining. Harris tries for a left jab but Kelly uses head movement to avoid it. Harris backs away from Kelly, creating some space between them. Harris shoots in for a takedown. Kelly attempts to avoid Harris as he shoots in. Kelly avoids the takedown attempt. <strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

Round two begins! Moving forward, Kelly counters a left jab with a flurry of small strikes. An exchange of strikes goes nowhere. Having stepped in close to throw their strikes, they end up grappling. Kelly tries to wrestle Harris backward and up against the cage. Kelly manages it, and controls Harris up against the cage. Kelly pins Harris up against the cage and hits a couple of nice right hands to the side of the head. Harris is trapped against the cage and Kelly punishes him with a solid elbow strike to the cheek. Kelly pins Harris up against the cage and hits a couple of nice right hands to the side of the head. Kelly catches Harris with a knee strike to the thigh. Kelly steps back from Harris and looks to unleash some strikes. A left jab misses the mark and allows Kelly to counter with a quick series of punches. Harris catches Kelly with a solid jab. We go past the halfway point of this round. A left jab misses, Harris counters with a left jab to the cheek. Harris throws a left jab but Kelly uses good head movement to make sure it slips by. Kelly comes in closer, looking to wrestle with Harris. Harris ends up grappling for supremacy with Kelly. Kelly is trying to push Harris so that his back is up against the cage. Kelly achieves it, pinning Harris to the cage. Kelly breaks the grapple and prepares to launch some strikes at Harris. Harris steps back just in time to avoid a wild swing. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. From the pocket, Harris shoots in for a double leg. Kelly tries to counter with a right hand, but is too slow. Harris drives forward, and despite the best efforts of Kelly to stay upright, the takedown is completed! Kelly is left seated, with his back to the cage, with Harris holding him down. Harris unloads with some right hands, but Kelly deals with them comfortably. Kelly stands by bracing against the cage, but can't shake Harris who remains in control. Time expires and we come to the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>

The fight begins! Hall sees a body kick coming and hits a straight left. A feint sets up a kick to the body, but Sapo manages to just avoid it. Sapo throws out a couple of jabs as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. Hall sees the takedown coming and tries to move. Sapo doesn't get the takedown, Hall avoided it. Sapo throws three punches in quick succession, but Hall was out of range. Hall steps in closer to force the issue. Hall throws a feint. Moving in closer, Sapo looks like he wants to strike from the pocket. Hall now has Sapo standing in the pocket. We go past the halfway point of this round. A left jab misses, giving Sapo the chance to hit back with a kick to the inside of the left thigh. Hall goes down off the kick, he got caught low by the looks of things! From the looks of things, he will be able to continue. The referee gives him one minute to recover, with the fight clock stopped. Moving forward, Sapo counters a left jab with a nice jab. Sapo comes in with a couple of jabs, using them as cover so that he can shoot in. Hall attempts to avoid Sapo as he shoots in. Sapo can't get the takedown, Hall was too quick to back away. Moving forward, Sapo counters a left jab with a barrage of big left hands! We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. A left jab misses, Sapo counters with a jab. Hall checks a low kick and then steps forward to hit a crisp left jab. Hall slips past a straight punch and hits a nice left. The time runs out on round one.</p><p> </p><p>

I think Sapo took that round, 10-9 on my score card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

Round two begins! Sapo avoids a jab. Sapo avoids a jab. A wayward low left kick allows Hall to hit a straight left. Hall throws a left jab but Sapo avoids it. Sapo uses a flurry of lefts and rights to get Hall to cover up, then shoots in looking for a takedown. Hall tries to step away from the takedown. Sapo doesn't get the takedown, Hall avoided it. Sapo gets Hall with a punch to the ribs, but it lacked power. Hall quickly gets in closer, looking to attack. We move into the second half of this round. An errant jab sets Hall up to counter-strike with a clean jab. Hall circles around Sapo. Sapo seems to be waiting for Hall to make a move. Sapo comes in, looking for a quick takedown. Hall attempts to avoid Sapo as he shoots in. Hall avoids the takedown attempt. We're into the final minute of the round. Hall uses a right hook to the body, but misses. Sapo presses in closer to attack. Sapo looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Hall. Hall now has Sapo standing in the pocket. Standing in the pocket, Sapo chooses to shoot in for a double leg on Hall. The takedown is successful, it's a single leg that leaves Hall pulling guard. Time expires and we come to the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>

That was a very close round, but I think Hall just about edged it.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! Sapo counters a left jab by using a flurry of small strikes. A left kick to the legs misses and Hall fires back with a clean jab. An attempted body kick misses and Hall fires back with a nice left hand. Sapo steps back to avoid a left jab. Hall throws a swift jab but doesn't do any damage. Sapo steps in to put some pressure on. Sapo uses a flurry of lefts and rights to get Hall to cover up, then shoots in looking for a takedown. Sapo gets the takedown! Hall pulls guard. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Sapo attempts to pass guard and gain a better position. Sapo is too much for Hall, passing guard and gaining side control. Sapo attempts to armbar Hall from side control. Sapo gets an armbar and applies pressure to the arm, Hall is in huge trouble! Out of the blue, Hall pops his arm free! Sapo must not have had it locked in as tight as it looked. Hall attempts to get some separation in order to try to stand, but can't. Sapo looks to roll Hall slightly and slip behind. Hall tries to escape but only succeeds in giving up his back! Breathing very hard, Rafael Natal is looking ragged. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Sapo successfully gets both hooks in, and seems primed to finish. With both hooks in, Sapo tries to flatten Hall out for the rear naked choke. Hall defends himself well against the choke. We reach the time limit and this fight is over.</p><p> </p><p>

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Sapo.</p><p> </p><p>

Yahya comes in, looking for a quick takedown. Bedford tries to counter with a right hand, but is too slow. Bedford cannot stop the takedown, and only catches Yahya in half guard. Yahya begins trying to get his leg free of half guard and get a better position. He does brilliantly, getting out of half guard straight into a mount. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Yahya tries to set up Bedford for a gogoplata. Bedford defends himself well. Bedford tries to roll Yahya, but only succeeds in giving up his back! Yahya attempts a rear naked choke. Yahya flattens Bedford out with the rear naked choke in deep and forces the tap!</p><p> </p><p>

A left jab misses and Schaub strikes back with a jab. We move into the second half of this round. Schaub throws out a quick left jab. Struve steps in to put some pressure on. Struve looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Schaub. Strikes from Schaub keep Struve from stepping in too close, and he is forced to step back. Advancing, Schaub counters a left jab by using a clean jab. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Schaub feints an attack, keeping Struve on his toes. Struve steps back to avoid a one-two combination. Round one ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

Round two begins! Schaub keeps his cool as Struve throws a feint to the left. It's a single leg, and Lauzon has to pull guard. Maynard is trying to pass guard. Lauzon can't do anything about the pass, and is left under side control. Maynard throws a few strikes, but is clearly slowing things down so that he can catch his breath. Lauzon tries to lock on an arm-in guillotine from the bottom of side control. Maynard defends it easily. Maynard is trying to move from side control to mount. Maynard mounts Lauzon. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Maynard has good control, and starts pounding away on Lauzon. Lauzon had better start defending himself, or this will be over! With Lauzon stuck and taking a pounding, the referee has to stop the match!</p><p> </p><p>

Moving in closer, Nelson looks like he wants to strike from the pocket. Nelson is in the pocket, ready to attack Nogueira. Nelson slips past a jab and scores with a right hook to the body that puts Nogueira down! Nelson doesn't have time to capitalise though, as Nogueira recovers his wits quickly. We are underway! Machado counters an errant left jab with a solid left jab. A jab misses and Machado counters with a solid left. Serao throws a left jab but Machado avoids it. Machado circles, looking for an opening. Serao presses in closer to attack. Serao looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Machado is pulled into a grapple. Using his wrestling skills, Serao is trying to push Machado up against the cage. Serao achieves it, pinning Machado to the cage. We move into the second half of this round. Serao looks for a trip takedown. The takedown is successful, Machado pulls guard. Serao throws some small strikes, but is clearly just taking a moment to try and catch his breath. Machado uses his legs to push Serao away, into a standing position. Serao tries to come in and secure a ground position. Machado scoots backward as soon as Serao comes in, initiating a scramble for position. The scramble results in Serao being on his back pulling guard. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Machado starts trying to work to get past the guard. Serao is ready for the attempt though, and keeps Machado firmly in guard. Securing an arm, Serao then brings his legs up and tries to lock Machado in a triangle choke. Machado defends well against it. Round one ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number two begins! Judging from what we heard from his corner, Machado is looking to avoid strikes and take it to the ground in this round. Serao counters a left jab by hitting a crisp left hand punch. Machado steps back to avoid a left jab. Machado comes in with a couple of jabs, using them as cover so that he can shoot in. The takedown doesn't work, Serao stuffed it. Moving in closer, Machado looks like he wants to strike from the pocket. Machado is in the pocket, ready to attack Serao. Machado gets caught with a stiff jab. Machado uses head movement to avoid a left jab. Not comfortable in the pocket, Machado steps back and creates some space. We go past the halfway point of this round. A couple of wild haymakers are used to set up a takedown attempt from Serao. The takedown is completed, it was a single leg but Machado is on his back less than a few seconds; spinning out and away, he quickly gets back up. Machado throws a couple of jabs, then chooses to shoot in on Serao. Machado can't take Serao off his feet, so settles for pushing him up against the cage instead. Machado gets hold of the far leg, but Serao pushes down on the back of his exposed neck to gain leverage. Using the position well, Serao pulls Machado down onto all fours, then rolls him to side control! Serao tries to lock Machado in an americana. Machado defends himself well. Serao blocks an attempted sweep. We have one minute of the round remaining. Serao keeps Machado guessing with a few quick strikes. Serao begins trying to get himself into mount. Machado doesn't allow Serao to get the mount. Leopoldo Serao is breathing very hard. Time expires and we come to the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>

There's the opening bell! Matthews sees a right body kick coming, grabs it, shoots in for a takedown, and gets it, Matthews is in half guard. Matthews looks to get past the half guard. Laprise keeps his half guard secure. Laprise gets some separation and tries to scramble for position. The scramble leaves Matthews on his back pulling half guard. Laprise reaches over and tries to lock Matthews in an arm triangle. Matthews defends it well. Matthews tries to sweep Laprise. It's an incredibly deep sweep, Laprise is turned over onto his back and Matthews gets side control. Looking to catch his breath, Matthews is content to just throw a couple of punches to the body. Matthews attempts to armbar Laprise from side control. Laprise defends himself well and is in no danger. Using an underhook to set it up, Laprise looks to scramble for position. We are now at the halfway point of the round. The scramble results in Matthews being on his back with Laprise in side control. Laprise throws a few strikes, but they are without venom. Laprise keeps Matthews guessing with a few quick strikes. Laprise throws a few right hands to the body. Matthews brings his legs in to trap Laprise in half guard. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. In half guard, Laprise begins working to get side control. Matthews doesn't let Laprise get his leg free, and so half guard remains in place. Matthews skillfully moves to full guard. Round one ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Matthews.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

Round two begins! A jab misses and Laprise counters with a flurry of jabs and straight punches. Matthews uses a nice jab. Matthews shoots in for a takedown. Matthews goes under an attempted counter right hand. The takedown is successful, Laprise couldn't quite stay on his feet. Laprise is left seated, with his back to the cage, with Matthews holding him down. Jake Matthews doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. Matthews tries to improve his position. Laprise doesn't let Matthews get the mount. Laprise, stuck up against the cage, hits several clubbing forearms to the back. Matthews starts trying to get Laprise on his back so that he can gain a better position. Matthews isn't able to mount Laprise this time around. Laprise, trapped against the cage, pummels Matthews on the back with several small shots, although they're more out of frustration than anything. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Matthews begins trying to get himself into a more dominant position. Laprise keeps Matthews close in, not letting the mount happen. Laprise, stuck up against the cage, hits several clubbing forearms to the back. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Laprise fights off Matthews as he tries to smother him against the cage. Laprise hits several frustrated punches to the back, but they're not going to do any damage. Not liking his options, Matthews looks to get a better position over Laprise. Laprise doesn't let Matthews get the mount. Jake Matthews looks like he doesn't have a lot left to give. Round two is brought to an end as time runs out. That was a yawner of a round, and I think both fighters are now a bit frustrated.</p><p> </p><p>

That round goes to Matthews, 10-9 on my card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! Laprise throws a barrage of big right hands but Matthews moves out of range. Moving forward, Matthews counters a series of wayward big punches with a clean left. A flurry of punches miss Matthews and allow him to counter-strike with a straight left. Moving in closer, Laprise looks like he wants to strike from the pocket. Matthews sees a chance for a takedown attempt, but Laprise is able to defend it. Laprise counters a wayward left jab with a right body kick. Chad Laprise is looking really tired. We move into the second half of this round. Matthews narrowly misses Laprise with a right uppercut. Not letting Matthews settle at all, Laprise comes in closer. Slowed down by physical tiredness, Laprise still looks to get in close and strike from the pocket. Laprise cannot get close enough to the elusive Matthews. Although visibly tired, Laprise looks to move in and stand in the pocket. Matthews tries to catch him by surprise with a takedown attempt, but it is blocked. Jake Matthews looks like he is almost out on his feet with exhaustion. We're into the final minute of the round. A flurry of punches miss Matthews and allow him to counter-strike with a nice jab. Moving in closer, a tired-looking Laprise apparently wants to strike from the pocket. Matthews seems happy to engage with Laprise in the pocket. There's a ragged-looking double leg attempt from Matthews, from the pocket. A counter right cross is too slow to catch Matthews. The takedown is successful, it's a single leg that leaves Laprise pulling guard. Chad Laprise seems to be fighting against exhaustion. Matthews throws a few right hands to the body. The fight comes to an end as the time limit expires. </p><p> </p><p>

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Matthews.</p><p> </p><p>

Round one begins! Advancing, Kelly counters a left jab by using a crisp jab. A jab doesn't find its intended target, allowing Taleb to fire back with a clever combination ending in a big right hook. Taleb tries for a leg kick but Kelly moves out of range. Taleb throws a spinning roundhouse kick but Kelly avoids it. Taleb bobs and weaves. Not letting Taleb settle at all, Kelly comes in closer. Kelly throws out a couple of jabs as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. Taleb tries to step away from the takedown. The takedown is unsuccessful, Taleb avoided Kelly. We move into the second half of this round. Taleb bobs and weaves. Not letting Taleb settle, Kelly moves in closer. A jab doesn't find its intended target, allowing Taleb to fire back with a hard leg kick. A jab doesn't find its intended target, allowing Taleb to fire back with a couple of hard right hands! We're into the final minute of the round. Standing in the pocket, Taleb throws an inside leg kick but Kelly shows good footwork to avoid it. A leg kick gets checked by Kelly. Moving in closer, Kelly looks like he may want to wrestle Taleb. Taleb finds himself pulled into a grappling contest. Round one is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

We are back underway! Kelly slips past a left jab and fires back with a nice jab. Kelly avoids several big right hands and counters with a left jab to the cheek. Kelly throws out a couple of jabs as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. Taleb tries to avoid the takedown. The takedown doesn't work, Taleb saw it coming and got out of range. Backing out of range, Kelly circles tentatively. Taleb steps in closer to force the issue. Kelly sees a right body kick coming, grabs it, shoots in for a takedown, getting it! Taleb manages to pull guard. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Kelly begins trying to pass the guard. He can't quite manage to get past guard on this attempt. Kelly gets pushed back thanks to a butterfly guard, and Taleb quickly scrambles. He isn't fast enough, and has to turtle up with Kelly on top of him. Kelly pounds away with rights, hitting several big shots to the body and side of the head. We have one minute of the round remaining. Kelly pounds away with rights, hitting several big shots to the body and side of the head. Kelly pounds away on Taleb, landing several good shots to the side of the head in the process. Kelly pounds away with right hands, but Taleb absorbs them and manages to stand back up. The time runs out on round two.</p><p> </p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! Kelly counters a wild spinning back fist with a left jab to the cheek. Taleb steps back to avoid a wild spinning back fist. Taleb counters an errant left jab with a series of hard rights! Kelly is on wobbly legs, he almost fell over as he attempted to back off! Kelly catches an attempted body kick and goes for a takedown, getting it! Taleb pulls guard. Kelly tries to pound on Taleb with elbow strikes, but all the blows are comfortably dealt with. Kelly gets pushed back thanks to a butterfly guard, and Taleb quickly scrambles. Kelly seizes the opportunity, Taleb was too slow and gets caught in side control. Kelly looks to get a mount. Taleb rolls to the side to try and escape the mount, but only succeeds in giving up his back instead. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Kelly increases his control by getting both hooks in. With both hooks in and therefore great control of the body, Kelly tries to finish Taleb off with a rear naked choke. Taleb fights off the rear naked choke attempt. Taleb attempts to pull free of the hooks, but Kelly doesn't allow it. Kelly, with both hooks fully in, tries to get the rear naked choke applied. Taleb stops Kelly from getting his arm under the chin and completing the choke. We have one minute of the round remaining. Kelly fires away with right hands, and Taleb is stung by several big shots. The fight comes to an end as the time limit expires.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

The fight begins! Cote uses a feint to get Noke off balance, but the nice sequence of punches that follow don't find their mark. Noke looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Noke grabs Cote and pulls him into a grapple. Using his wrestling skills, Noke is trying to push Cote up against the cage. Cote ends up backed against the cage. Cote, stuck against the cage, gets blasted with a right hand, but manages to pull Noke in close to stop any more coming in. Noke smothers Cote against the cage, then uses his dirty boxing skills to his advantage. Smothered against the cage, Cote is stuck there, unable to do anything, for roughly thirty seconds. Noke pins Cote up against the cage and uses dirty boxing to inflict some damage. We go past the halfway point of this round. Unable to get free, Cote is smothered up against the cage for about thirty seconds. The referee decides that the grappling against the cage has been going on too long, and he brings them back to the center. Cote moves in quickly after a wayward punch and hits a scything low kick to the legs. They exchange strikes, but neither fighter inflicts any real damage. There's under a minute left in this round. Noke slips out of the way of a combination of short sharp punches. A jab misses, allowing Noke to counter-strike with a crisp jab. Time expires and we come to the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

I think Noke took that round, 10-9 on my score card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number two begins! Cote counters a left jab with a clean jab. An attempted inside leg kick misses, giving Noke the opportunity to counter with a solid left jab. Noke avoids a nice combination. Cote narrowly misses Noke with a right uppercut. Noke doesn't press the issue, allowing Cote to circle. Noke slips past an attempted big right hand and counters with a nice jab. Noke avoids a tight combination. Noke slips out of the way of a leg kick, having been suckered in with a feint. We go past the halfway point of this round. Noke looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Cote. Cote ends up grappling for supremacy with Noke. Noke tries to wrestle Cote backward and up against the cage. Cote ends up backed against the cage. Cote is controlled up against the cage and takes a hard foot stomp. Cote is controlled up against the cage and eats a sharp right to the ear. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. With Cote stuck against the cage, Noke tries to complete a takedown. Cote digs in and manages to defend the takedown. Cote tries to get clear of the grapple, but Noke holds him in place. The time is up, and that's the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>

I have to give that round to Noke, but only a 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

Round three begins! An attempted body kick misses, giving Noke the opportunity to counter with a straight left. Noke slips out of the way of a head kick. Cote counters a flurry of punches by hitting a body kick. Patrick Cote is breathing very hard. Both fighters come in and exchange strikes, but neither does any damage. Noke circles away, creating some distance between them. Noke comes in closer, looking to wrestle with Cote. He pulls Cote into a grapple. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Cote gets caught with a couple of nice short punches as Noke uses his dirty boxing to inflict some punishment. Using his wrestling skills, Noke is trying to push Cote up against the cage. He does so, and now has Cote pinned to the cage. Unable to break free, Cote is smothered up against the cage, taking short blows to the body, for about sixty seconds. Kyle Noke looks very tired out there. Cote is trapped against the cage and held there, unable to do anything, for about a minute. We have one minute of the round remaining. Cote takes a knee strike to the inside of his own knee. The time runs out and that round is over, and so is the fight.</p><p> </p><p>

We are underway! Kennedy avoids a barrage of big right hands. Kennedy avoids a nice combination and hits a straight left. A left jab misses and Kennedy counters with a nice jab. Both fighters go to exchange blows, but neither hits a telling strike. There's a takedown attempt from Kennedy. The takedown is unsuccessful, Bisping blocked Kennedy. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Moving forward, Bisping counters a left jab with a jab. Bisping throws a leg kick but Kennedy avoids it. Both throw strikes at each other, both easily defend the other's attempt. Kennedy counters a left jab with a clean jab. We're into the final minute of the round. An attempted body kick misses, giving Kennedy the opportunity to counter with a clean jab. Bisping circles as he plans his next move. Not letting Bisping settle, Kennedy moves in closer. Round one is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number two begins! It sounded like his corner told Kennedy to attempt to get Bisping to the floor in this round. Kennedy swiftly avoids a barrage of big punches. Bisping tries for a left jab but Kennedy moves out of range. Kennedy goes to the body and then to the head with a tidy combination to get Bisping to cover up, then shoots in. Bisping counters with a right hand that catches Kennedy flush...and he goes down! Bisping quickly pounces, looking to rain down punches on the stunned Kennedy! The punches rain down, but Kennedy keeps composed and manages to pull half guard. Bisping throws a few weak-looking punches as he decides on his next move. Kennedy gets some separation and tries to scramble for position. Kennedy manages to come out on top, with Bisping pulling half guard. Kennedy attempts to pass half guard. He gets past half guard, gaining side control. Kennedy fires off a few punches, but they aren't thrown with any great force. Bisping tries to pull guard on Kennedy but doesn't get anywhere with the attempt. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Kennedy attempts the mount. Kennedy shifts to mount. Kennedy pounds away from the mount with vicious elbows, Bisping is barely able to offer any defence at all! The referee is forced to jump in and stop the match!</p><p> </p><p>

The Ultimate Fighter 19: Team Edgar vs. Team Penn is announced

On Monday the UFC made ​​the announcement of Season 19 of The Ultimate Fighter. This season the coaches will be former UFC Lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and BJ Penn.

 

The two coaches faced off twice, the first time was the champion BJ Penn and Frankie Edgar was a rising star. After 5 rounds, in a bitter dispute, Frankie Edgar was named the new champion.
