<strong>Lightweight Bout: (#8) Donald Cerrone (21-6-1 NC) vs. (#11) Edson Barboza (13-1)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

And here we go! Barboza feints going high but then throws a leg kick, Cerrone just avoids it. A jab doesn't find its intended target, allowing Cerrone to fire back with a crisp jab. A left hand misses, allowing Barboza to counter with a kick to the ribs. Barboza feints to the right, trying to draw Cerrone into throwing a strike. Barboza avoids a nice combination and hits a kick to the inside of the left thigh. Cerrone avoids a jab and scores with a crisp jab. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Cerrone looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Barboza. Cerrone is now standing in the pocket. Cerrone sees an inside leg kick coming and hits first with a nice sequence of jabs. Good head movement allows Barboza to avoid a combination. Showing good head movement, Barboza slips past a tight combination and counter-strikes with a clean punch. Cerrone dodges a jab, and fires back with an accurate counter right that lands right on the button, putting Barboza down! The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Cerrone starts pounding away on Barboza, looking to finish him off! Cerrone fires away with punches, Barboza is taking several big shots. With punches raining down, Barboza can only pull Cerrone down into side control to survive. Cerrone starts trying to work to use side control as a way to get behind Barboza. He takes the back! Cerrone attempts a rear naked choke. Barboza defends himself well. Time expires and we come to the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Cerrone.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

And here we go, round two! Barboza feints left, then right. Cerrone side-steps a barrage of big punches and hits a pair of nice shots to the body. A jab doesn't find its intended target, allowing Barboza to fire back with a series of big punches, putting Cerrone down on the ground! Cerrone shakes off the blow almost immediately though, and waits for Barboza to make a move. Cerrone takes a right hand, but it didn't connect well and he uses that moment to stand back up. A jab doesn't find its intended target, allowing Barboza to fire back with a straight right that sends Cerrone face-first into the mat...it's a knock out!</p><p> </p><p>

The winner, by Knock Out; Edson Barboza!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

We are underway! A jab misses and Tate counters with a crisp left hand punch. Moving in closer, Carmouch looks like she may want to wrestle Tate. Carmouch walks into a big jab, landing right on the cheek. Tate comes in, looking for a quick takedown. Carmouch attempts to avoid Tate as she shoots in. Tate can't get the takedown, Carmouch was too quick to back away. Carmouch keeps her cool as Tate throws a feint to the left. Carmouch hops around from foot to foot, looking for an opening. Not letting Carmouch settle at all, Tate comes in closer. Tate comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Carmouch tries to counter Tate with an enormous right hand, but it only thumps into the gloves. Moving in closer, Carmouch looks like she may want to wrestle Tate. They start grappling, Tate looks happy to engage Carmouch at close quarters. Carmouch tries to wrestle Tate backward and up against the cage. Carmouch doesn't manage it though, as Tate slips out of the grapple and gets away. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Tate looks like she might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Carmouch. Tate can't get near enough to engage, Carmouch uses strikes to keep her out of range. Carmouch throws three punches in quick succession, but Tate was out of range. Tate presses in closer to attack. There's under a minute left in this round. Tate throws a combination of rights and lefts, using them as cover so that she can shoot in. The takedown is successful, it's a single leg that leaves Carmouch pulling guard. Tate looks to get past the guard. She can't quite manage to get past guard on this attempt. Round one ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

I think Tate took that round, 10-9 on my score card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

We are back underway! Tate slips out of the way of a jab. Carmouch counters a wayward low right kick with a left. A feinted low kick sets up a right high kick attempt, and Carmouch is lucky to avoid it. Carmouch looks like she might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Tate. She pulls Tate into a grapple. Using her wrestling skills, Carmouch is trying to push Tate up against the cage. Carmouch can't manage it, and Tate gets out of the grapple entirely. Carmouch steps in but an exchange of strikes goes nowhere. Time slips away as Tate doesn't press Carmouch, allowing her to circle. We go past the halfway point of this round. Carmouch steps in but an exchange of strikes goes nowhere. Not letting up, Tate steps in closer to pressure Carmouch into action. Tate chooses to shoot in on Carmouch. She has the takedown! It's a single leg, and Carmouch has to pull guard. Tate begins trying to pass the guard. She manages to pass, but only to half guard. There's under a minute left in this round. Tate attempts to kimura Carmouch from the top of half guard. Carmouch defends herself well and is in no danger. Carmouch tries to sweep Tate but doesn't get anywhere. Tate attempts to pass half guard. Carmouch comfortably blocks the attempt and keeps Tate in half guard. The time runs out on round two.</p><p> </p><p>

I have to give that round to Tate, but only a 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number three begins! Carmouch counters a one-two combination with a stinging left jab. Carmouch sees a body kick coming and hits a barrage of hard punches! Seeing a right kick to the body coming, Carmouch darts in and counters with a left jab to the cheek. Tate uses head movement to avoid a vicious right hand and fire right back with a flurry of quick punches. Slipping past a left jab, Carmouch hits a clean left jab. A left jab misses, Carmouch counters with a solid punch. A left jab misses the mark and allows Carmouch to counter with a solid punch. Carmouch tries for a left jab but Tate uses head movement to avoid it. We move into the second half of this round. Carmouch checks a leg kick and comes right back with a nice left. Tate slips past a jab and scores with a flurry of quick punches to sting Carmouch. Miesha Tate doesn't look like she has much left in the tank. Carmouch shows good head movement to avoid getting caught with a jab. There's a short stalemate as both fighters advance and throw strikes, but neither hits. A showdown where they both exchange strikes only results in a stalemate. From the pocket, a tired-looking Tate shoots in for a double leg. Carmouch stuffs the takedown attempt, but can't do anything about being pushed up against the cage. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. With Carmouch stuck against the cage, Tate gets the underhooks and looks for a takedown. Tate tries hard but cannot get Carmouch off of her feet. A whizzer almost allows Carmouch to create enough space to get free, but Tate shuts that opportunity down. Miesha Tate seems to be fighting against exhaustion. We reach the time limit and this fight is over.</p><p> </p><p>

That round goes to Carmouch, 10-9 on my card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

Round one begins! dos Anjos tries for a left body kick but Nurmagomedov moves out of range. Nurmagomedov is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to dos Anjos. A counter right catches Nurmagomedov above the eye. dos Anjos throws a combination of rights and lefts, using them as cover so that he can shoot in. Nurmagomedov sprawls to stop the takedown, then pulls dos Anjos up close into a clinch. Nurmagomedov is looking to muscle dos Anjos back against the cage. Nurmagomedov achieves it, pinning dos Anjos to the cage. Nurmagomedov moves back from the grapple and looks ready to strike. dos Anjos slips past a jab and scores with a punch. dos Anjos tries for a left jab but Nurmagomedov uses head movement to avoid it. Nurmagomedov is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to dos Anjos. Nurmagomedov grabs dos Anjos and pulls him into a grapple. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Nurmagomedov is trying to muscle dos Anjos up against the cage. Nurmagomedov achieves it, pinning dos Anjos to the cage. dos Anjos is controlled up against the cage and takes a hard foot stomp. Smothered against the cage, dos Anjos is stuck there, unable to do anything, for roughly thirty seconds. Showing his ability to exert control, Nurmagomedov smothers dos Anjos up against the cage for about a minute. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Nurmagomedov launches a knee strike but dos Anjos is ready, catches the leg, and uses some wrestling to turn it around so that Nurmagomedov is the one against the cage. The referee decides that there is a lack of progress being made and separates them. The time runs out on round one.</p><p> </p><p>

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Nurmagomedov.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

We are back underway! dos Anjos steps back to avoid a barrage of big punches, having been off balance momentarily after a clever feint. Nurmagomedov looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Strikes from dos Anjos keep Nurmagomedov from stepping in too close, and he is forced to step back. dos Anjos goes to the body and then to the head with a tidy combination to get Nurmagomedov to cover up, then shoots in. The takedown is completed, it was a single leg but Nurmagomedov is on his back less than a few seconds; spinning out and away, he quickly gets back up. Nurmagomedov avoids a tight combination. Both fighters fire off strikes, but neither does any significant damage. From the pocket, Nurmagomedov sees a body kick coming and moves forward to counter-strike with a punch. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Nurmagomedov throws a right jab but dos Anjos uses good head movement to make sure it slips by. Nurmagomedov checks a low kick. Working from the pocket, dos Anjos unloads with a quick series of shots to the body, showing great hand speed. Nurmagomedov hits a left jab from the pocket. Using head movement to slip past a left jab, dos Anjos hits a jab. Nurmagomedov uses head movement to avoid a combination of short sharp punches, then fires back with a sudden huge right uppercut that knocks dos Anjos out cold!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

Round one begins! Werdum counters a left jab with a kick to the ribs. Browne moves in quickly after a wayward punch and hits a crisp jab. Browne avoids a leg kick and scores with a nice jab. Werdum waits for a flurry of punches to stop, then hits a jab. Werdum waits for a flurry of punches to stop, then hits a scything low kick to the legs. Browne slips past a left jab and counters with a straight left. Werdum slips out of the way of a flurry of punches. We pass the halfway mark of this round. There's a takedown attempt from Werdum. The takedown doesn't work, Browne stuffed it. Werdum isn't drawn in by Browne feinting to his left. Browne avoids a kick to the leg and hits a flurry of jabs and straight punches. A jab doesn't find its intended target, allowing Browne to fire back with a flurry of jabs and straight punches. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. A straight left from Browne fails to land. Not letting up, Werdum quickly steps in closer to attack Browne. Suddenly, Werdum dives forward and tries to grab a leg! Grabbing a leg, Werdum looks for a heel hook but Browne blocks it from being applied. Unable to stop falling backward as a result of the submission attempt, Browne has to pull half guard. Round one is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

A superb round of action there, and the fans are all on their feet now.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number two begins! Out of nowhere, Werdum dives at Browne, trying to grab one of his legs! Grabbing a leg, Werdum looks for a heel hook but Browne blocks it from being applied. Browne does have to fall backward though, and ends up pulling half guard. In half guard, Werdum begins working to get side control. He gets past half guard, gaining side control. Werdum tries to lock Browne in an armbar. Werdum gets an armbar fully applied! Out of the blue, Browne pops his arm free! Werdum must not have had it locked in as tight as it looked. Werdum blocks an attempt to pull guard. Werdum begins trying to get himself behind Browne. He shows excellent control to move Browne over and take his back. Werdum attempts an armbar. Browne fights off the armbar attempt. Werdum blocks an attempt to roll him off of the back. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Werdum gets both hooks in, and is now in a really dominant position. With both hooks in and therefore great control of the body, Werdum tries to finish Browne off with a rear naked choke. Browne defends himself well against the choke. Browne attempts to pull free of the hooks, but Werdum doesn't allow it. Werdum, with both hooks fully in, tries to get the rear naked choke applied. Browne stops Werdum from getting his arm under the chin and completing the choke. Browne attempts to pull free of the hooks, but Werdum doesn't allow it. We're into the final minute of the round. Werdum starts hammering away at Browne with right hands. Browne is taking lots of shots, and can't seem to find a way out from this position! The referee has seen enough, he pulls Werdum off!</p><p> </p><p>

Using his wrestling skills, Negao is trying to push Gracie up against the cage. Gracie ends up backed against the cage. Negao tries to smother Gracie against the cage, but is struggling to maintain control. Negao suddenly finds a guillotine choke slapped on him, and he gets pulled down to the ground in it! A guillotine choke is applied; Negao isn't tapping out though! Negao must have managed to stop the choke being properly applied. The guillotine is finally released, Gracie may have gassed his arms trying to force the tap out. Negao throws a few strikes, but they are without venom. Gracie grabs an arm and raises his legs, trying to lock Negao into a triangle choke. The triangle is deeply applied, Negao has to tap before he is put to sleep!</p><p> </p><p>

UFC 172: Jones vs. Teixeira - Play by Play

 

Flyweight Bout: (#2) Joseph Benavidez (19-4) vs. (#8) Tim Elliot (10-4-1)

 

Round 1

There's the opening bell! Elliot feints stepping in. Benavidez catches Elliot with a kick to the inside of the thigh. Benavidez chooses to shoot in on Elliot. The takedown is completed, Elliot is on his back and pulls half guard. Benavidez attempts to kimura Elliot from the top of half guard. Elliot defends himself well and is in no danger. Elliot tries to pull Benavidez into a guillotine choke from the bottom of half guard. Benavidez pulls his head free before the hold can be applied properly. Benavidez attempts to arm triangle Elliot from the top of half guard. Elliot defends himself well and is in no danger. Elliot tries to move from half guard to full guard, but Benavidez doesn't allow it. We move into the second half of this round. Benavidez begins trying to get his leg free of half guard and get a better position. He passes to side control. Benavidez attempts the mount. Benavidez isn't able to mount Elliot this time around. Elliot tries to move to guard, but Benavidez doesn't allow it. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Benavidez attempts to move to mount. He doesn't get the mount, but only because Elliot rolled over and gave up his back instead. Benavidez pounds away on Elliot, landing several good shots in the process. Time expires and we come to the end of round one.

 

I have to give that round to Benavidez, but only a 10-9.

 

Round 2

Round two begins! Benavidez counters an errant right jab with a straight right. Both fighters throw strikes at the same time, both miss. Having stepped in close to throw their strikes, they end up clinched. Benavidez tries to pick Elliot up for a slam. Benavidez gets it! Elliot manages to pull guard upon impact. Benavidez pounds away, but Elliot keeps him far enough away to remain safe. Benavidez gets pushed back, and is left standing in front of Elliot, no longer in guard. Benavidez looks to get on top of Elliot. Elliot tries to get free, but Benavidez is able to secure side control. Benavidez tries to slip behind and take the back. Elliot is in big trouble as he is forced to give up his back! Benavidez increases his control by getting both hooks in. Benavidez starts hammering away at Elliot with left hands. Unless he finds a way out of this position soon, Elliot is going to lose this fight! With Elliot stuck and taking a pounding, the referee has to stop the match!

 

By TKO, the winner is Joseph Benavidez!

Round 1

The fight begins! Ellenberger steps back to avoid a tight combination of punches after falling for a clever feint. Ellenberger comes in with a couple of jabs, using them as cover so that he can shoot in. Saffiedine gets taken down by a single leg, and has to pull guard. Ellenberger begins trying to pass guard and get a better position. Saffiedine is ready for the attempt though, and keeps Ellenberger firmly in guard. Saffiedine tries to ensnare an arm. A straight armbar is applied, Ellenberger has to tap out before his arm is hyper-extended!

 

By submission, the winner is Tarec Saffiedine!

Middleweight Bout: (#6) Luke Rockhold (11-2) vs. (#11) Tim Boetsch (17-6)

 

Round 1

There's the opening bell! A left hand misses, allowing Rockhold to counter with a body kick. A barrage of punches miss and Rockhold strikes back with a couple of tight angled jabs and a scorching left hook to the body. There's a short stalemate as both fighters advance and throw strikes, but neither hits. Rockhold is getting in closer to Boetsch, perhaps looking for a clinch. Boetsch is pulled into a Muay Thai clinch. Boetsch uses his grappling to move from being stuck in a Muay Thai clinch to the collar-and-elbow position. Rockhold throws a few close-range strikes, but Boetsch smothers the shots and takes control of the grappling. Boetsch and Rockhold separate and we're back to a stand-off. We go past the halfway point of this round. Rockhold looks to move in and stand in the pocket. He gets into range. Rockhold comes in, looking for a quick double leg takedown from close range. Boetsch gets taken down by a single leg, and has to pull guard. The clock runs down as Boetsch is being smothered against the ground by Rockhold. Rockhold fires away with big elbows, but Boetsch keeps the guard secure and doesn't take any undue damage. Boetsch attempts to lock on a triangle choke. Rockhold pulls free before the triangle can be locked in. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Rockhold pounds away with elbows, but doesn't do much damage, if any, Boetsch is comfortable holding guard. The time is up, and that's the end of round one.

 

I have to give that round to Rockhold, but only a 10-9.

 

Round 2

There's the bell for the start of the round! Between rounds we could hear the corner of Boetsch telling him to swing for the fences. Boetsch feints rushing in, but Rockhold doesn't fall for it. Boetsch avoids a body kick. Rockhold looks like he might be trying to get in close to clinch with Boetsch. Rockhold cannot get close enough to the elusive Boetsch to clinch. Rockhold looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Boetsch. Boetsch now has Rockhold standing in the pocket. Boetsch uses great head movement to avoid a flashy high kick and counters with a barrage of big right hands! Rockhold collapses, hurt, and Boetsch looks to finish by unleashing a barrage of strikes to his downed opponent! The referee jumps in and saves Rockhold from taking any more shots!

 

The winner, by TKO, is Tim 'The Barbarian' Boetsch!

Round one begins! There's a stalemate as both fighters throw strikes, but neither scores. Davis grabs a body kick and goes for the takedown, down goes Johnson! He pulls guard though. Davis smothers Johnson with his body by pushing forward and down. Davis looks to pass guard and get side control. Johnson keeps his guard secure. Davis leans back to avoid a couple of wild swings from Johnson. Davis looks to get past the guard. After a struggle, he gets to half guard. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Davis tries to ensnare Johnson in a kimura. Johnson defends it well. Johnson tries to move from half guard to full guard, but Davis doesn't allow it. Davis looks to pass half guard and get side control. He can't get free of half guard. Johnson tries to get full guard on Davis but doesn't get anywhere. We have one minute of the round remaining. In half guard, Davis begins working to get side control. Davis struggles but cannot find a way past and remains stuck in half guard. Round one ends as time expires.

 

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Davis.

 

Round 2

We are back underway! From what we could hear of his corner, it sounds like Davis has been instructed to try and get Johnson to the floor in this round. Johnson avoids a jab and scores with a barrage of big right hands, knocking Davis down! Johnson senses victory and starts to unload with punches! Johnson fires away with punches, Davis is taking powerful shot after powerful shot! The referee has no option but to leap in and stop the fight!

 

The winner, by TKO, is Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson!

The fight begins! An exchange of strikes doesn't lead to any real damage. Having stepped in close to throw their strikes, they end up grappling. With underhooks giving him solid control over Teixeira, Jones looks for a takedown. He lifts his opponent and drives him down with a Greco-Roman slam! Teixeira pulls guard. Jones smothers Teixeira with his body by pushing forward and down. Jones looks to get past the guard. He finds himself unable to pass guard on this attempt. Teixeira bursts into life and tries to scramble into a better position. There wasn't enough separation though, Jones is able to catch him and secure side control. Jones begins trying to get himself behind Teixeira. He does it, getting behind Teixeira. We move into the second half of this round. Jones increases his control by getting both hooks in. With both hooks in and therefore great control of the body, Jones tries to finish Teixeira off with a rear naked choke. Teixeira defends himself well against the choke. Teixeira struggles against Jones but cannot get himself free from the hooks. With both hooks in and therefore great control of the body, Jones tries to finish Teixeira off with a rear naked choke. Teixeira doesn't allow the arm to go under his chin. Jones keeps both hooks, despite Teixeira trying to pull them apart. Jones attempts to complete a rear naked choke, having both hooks fully in. Teixeira gets flattened out with the rear naked choke, he has to tap!

 

Jon 'Bones' Jones takes the win by submission!

Round 1

There's the opening bell! Miranda slips past a left jab and counters with two big right hands! Draggo sees a low kick being set up and strikes first with a punch. A quick exchange of strikes produces nothing worth mentioning. They wind up in a tight clinch. Draggo is looking to muscle Miranda back against the cage. Miranda ends up backed against the cage. With the cage trapping Miranda, Draggo looks to try and take him down. The takedown is successful, Miranda goes down. Miranda is left seated, with his back to the cage, with Draggo holding him down. Draggo looks to get a more dominant position by pushing Miranda from a seated position onto his back. Draggo isn't able to mount Miranda this time around. Miranda hits several frustrated punches to the back, but they're not going to do any damage. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Draggo tries to lock Miranda in a choke. Miranda defends himself well. Miranda, trapped against the cage, pummels Draggo on the back with several small shots, although they're more out of frustration than anything. Draggo pushes forward against Miranda, basically smothering him against the cage wall. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Draggo looks to get a more dominant position by pushing Miranda from a seated position onto his back. He finds himself unable to get the mount on this attempt. The time is up, and that's the end of round one.

 

Round 2

There's the bell for the start of the round! Draggo catches a weak right kick to the legs and uses it to go for a takedown, getting it! Miranda manages to pull guard. Miranda is controlled against the ground, unable to shift Draggo off of him. Draggo fires off a few punches, but they aren't thrown with any great force. Draggo postures up, stopping Miranda from throwing elbows from the bottom. Breathing very hard, Edson Claas Vieira is looking ragged. Draggo begins trying to pass guard and get a better position. Miranda is ready for the attempt though, and keeps Draggo firmly in guard. Miranda uses his legs to push Draggo away, into a standing position. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Draggo tries to secure a ground position. Draggo can't hold Miranda down and a scramble starts. Miranda manages to come out on top with side control. Miranda begins trying to get himself into a mount. He finds himself unable to get the mount on this attempt. Draggo gets some separation and tries to scramble for position. Edson Claas Vieira looks like he is on the verge of exhaustion. We're into the final minute of the round. The scramble results in Draggo being on his back pulling half guard. Miranda stands up out of half guard and backs off, wanting the fight to continue standing. An exchange of strikes doesn't lead to any real damage. The time runs out on round two.

 

After two rounds the winner by unanimous decision is Edson Draggo.

Clark tries to avoid the takedown. The takedown doesn't work, Clark saw it coming and got out of range. Bastress avoids a jab. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Bastress keeps out of range, assessing the situation. The fight slows as Clark sits back and allows Bastress to circle. Bastress gets Clark with a punch to the ribs, but it lacked power. Clark seems to be waiting for Bastress to make a move. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Clark counters a weak right kick with a clean left. Clark counters a wild spinning back fist with a solid left. Round one is brought to an end as time runs out.

 

Round 2

And here we go, round two! Bastress isn't drawn in by Clark feinting to his left. Clark counters a left jab with a clean jab. Both fighters exchange strikes, but neither hits anything significant. A left hand misses, allowing Clark to counter with a solid left. Bastress throws a barrage of big right hands but Clark moves out of range. After a flurry of punches miss, Clark is able to strike back with a clean left. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Bastress avoids a jab. Clark keeps out of range, assessing the situation. Bastress presses in closer to attack. Bastress is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. Bastress moves into the pocket. There's a double leg attempt from Bastress, from the pocket. He has the takedown! Clark is too quick though, and as soon as he hits the ground he spins away, getting back to his feet. Clark moves in quickly after a wayward punch and hits a straight left. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Clark throws a left jab but Bastress avoids it. Clark sneaks a glance at his corner. Not letting up, Bastress quickly steps in closer to attack Clark. The time runs out on round two.

 

After two rounds the winner by unanimous decision is Logan Clark.

- BJ Penn said that Clark completely dominated the fight.

 

- Edgar was disappointed because he thinks Bastress favorite.

We are underway! A weak body kick is countered by Anundson with a solid left jab. Anundson moves in quickly after a wayward punch and hits a crisp jab. Davis shoots in, looking for a takedown. Anundson stuffs the takedown attempt, but can't do anything about being pushed up against the cage. Davis uses underhooks to gain solid control, and is looking for a takedown. He lifts his opponent and drives him down with a Greco-Roman slam! Anundson pulls half guard. In half guard, Davis begins working to get side control. He can't quite manage to get past half guard on this attempt. Anundson tries to get full guard on Davis but doesn't get anywhere. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Davis tries to lock Anundson into an arm triangle. Anundson defends it well. Anundson tries to get full guard on Davis but doesn't get anywhere. Davis is trying to get out of half guard and into a better position. Davis isn't able to pass from half guard thanks to the tenacious defence of Anundson. Davis blocks an attempted move from half guard to full guard. Davis looks to get past the half guard. Anundson doesn't let Davis get his leg free, and so half guard remains in place. Anundson tries to transition to full guard, but can't manage it. There's under a minute left in this round. The lengthy period of stalemate results in the referee standing them both back up. Round one ends as time expires.

 

Round 2

There's the bell for the start of the round! Anundson throws a left jab but Davis avoids it. Davis steps back to avoid a left jab. Davis slips past a left jab and fires back with a leg kick. A straight left from Davis fails to land. It seems that Anundson is happy to let Davis circle for the moment. Davis circles, looking for an opening. Anundson doesn't press the issue, allowing Davis to circle. Davis moves in quickly after a wayward punch and hits a sharp body kick. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Anundson slips out of the way of a leg kick. Moving in closer, Davis looks like he may want to wrestle Anundson. Anundson uses movement to keep out reach, meaning Davis cannot get close enough to grapple. An errant jab sets Anundson up to counter-strike with a clean left. A right kick to the legs misses and Anundson fires back with a clean jab. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Davis comes in closer, looking to wrestle with Anundson. Davis cannot get close enough to the elusive Anundson to grapple. Anundson looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Davis seems happy to grapple with Anundson. Time expires and we come to the end of round two.

 

After two rounds the winner by Unanimous Decision is Raphael Davis.

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

We are underway! Wiman avoids a quick jab and hits a stinging leg kick. Varner counters a wayward low right kick with an excellent combination. Moving in closer, Varner looks like he may want to wrestle Wiman. He pulls Wiman into a grapple. From the grapple, Varner tries to work in some close-range strikes, but Wiman is alert and smothers them quickly. Varner is trying to push Wiman so that his back is up against the cage. Wiman out-wrestles him though. Wiman looks for a trip takedown. Wiman doesn't get the takedown, Varner blocked it. Wiman loses control of Varner, who breaks free from the grapple and backs off. We go past the halfway point of this round. A jab doesn't find its intended target, allowing Wiman to fire back with a crisp jab. Moving in closer, Wiman looks like he may want to wrestle Varner. Varner ends up grappling for supremacy with Wiman. With control of the clinch, Wiman tries to complete a takedown. The takedown is successful; Varner seemed happy to take it and pull guard. Wiman blocks Varner as he tries a sweep from the guard. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Wiman attempts to pass guard and gain a better position. Varner keeps his guard secure. Varner works some separation, and Wiman ends up standing looking down at him. Wiman throws a big punch, but it isn't on target and Varner pulls him into guard. The clock runs down as Varner is being smothered against the ground by Wiman. Round one is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! Varner counters an attempted body kick with a clever combination ending in a big right hook. Wiman throws a left jab but Varner avoids it. Wiman throws out a couple of jabs as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. Varner looks to grab a guillotine off the takedown. The takedown is too fast, Varner cannot grab the guillotine. Varner cannot stop the takedown, Wiman drove in with too much pace and power. Wiman ends up holding a seated Varner around the waist, pressing him up against the cage. The clock runs down as Varner is being smothered against the cage wall by Wiman. Wiman smothers Varner up against the cage wall. The clock runs down as Varner is being smothered against the cage wall by Wiman. Not liking his options, Wiman looks to get a better position over Varner. Varner keeps Wiman close in, not letting the mount happen. Varner, trapped against the cage, pummels Wiman on the back with several small shots, although they're more out of frustration than anything. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Wiman smothers Varner up against the cage wall. With no progress being made, the referee separates the two fighters. There's a takedown attempt from Varner. The takedown is stuffed, so Varner has to go to settle for pushing Wiman up against the cage. We have one minute of the round remaining. Wiman is trapped against the cage and held there, unable to do anything, until the round ends. Round two ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

And here we go, round three! Judging from what we heard from his corner, Varner is looking to get the fight to the ground ASAP. Varner avoids a body kick. Varner darts in and out of range quickly, trying to get Wiman to commit to throwing a strike. Varner shoots in, looking for a takedown. The takedown doesn't work, Wiman stuffed it. Moving in closer, Varner looks like he may want to wrestle Wiman. Wiman keeps himself moving out of range, not wanting to grapple. Varner gets Wiman with a punch to the ribs, but it lacked power. Wiman doesn't press the issue, allowing Varner to circle. Matt Wiman doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. Varner throws out a quick left jab. The fight slows as Wiman sits back and allows Varner to circle. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Varner shoots in, looking for a takedown. Wiman sees the takedown coming and tries to move. The takedown is unsuccessful, Wiman avoided Varner. Jamie Varner is breathing very hard. Wiman glances a strike off the side of the shoulder. Not letting up, Varner quickly steps in closer to attack Wiman. A visibly tired Varner is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Wiman. He pulls Wiman into a grapple. We're into the final minute of the round. Getting underhooks, Varner looks for a takedown. Wiman blocks the takedown attempt. Jamie Varner looks very, very tired. Wiman uses a whizzer to turn Varner slightly, creating enough space for him to break free of the grappling entirely. The fight comes to an end as the time limit expires. That was a very close round, but I think Varner just about edged it.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

We are underway! Pierce catches an attempted body kick and goes for the takedown, and gets it! Marquardt pulls guard. Pierce tries to get out of guard and stand up, but Marquardt doesn't allow it. Marquardt brings his legs up and tries to lock Pierce in a triangle choke. Pierce pulls free of the triangle and brilliantly spins to side control. Pierce attempts an americana. Marquardt fights off the americana attempt. Pierce blocks Marquardt as he tries a sweep from side control. Pierce lets go of side control and stands up, then backs off, wanting the fight standing. Marquardt throws a swift jab but doesn't do any damage. Pierce steps in to put some pressure on. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Pierce comes in closer, looking to wrestle with Marquardt. Marquardt is pulled into a grapple. Marquardt smothers Pierce when he tries to use some dirty boxing, and gains the upper hand in the grapple as a result. Marquardt is trying to push Pierce so that his back is up against the cage. Pierce ends up backed against the cage. Pierce wrestles back against Marquardt, turning him around so that he now has his back to the cage. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Marquardt gets caught with a knee to the inside of the thigh. Pierce tries to throw an elbow, but Marquardt takes the opportunity to turn his opponent around so that Pierce ends up backed against the cage instead. Marquardt tries to dirty box Pierce, but finds himself out-wrestled and turned around so that he is the one against the cage. Round one is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

I have to give that round to Pierce, but only a 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! Marquardt throws a left jab but Pierce avoids it. Pierce looks to be trying to close the distance between them. The two fighters start grappling for control. Pierce tries to wrestle Marquardt backward and up against the cage. Pierce achieves it, pinning Marquardt to the cage. Pierce tries to maintain control, but Marquardt isn't letting himself get bullied like that. Marquardt wrestles back against Pierce, turning him around so that he now has his back to the cage. Mike Pierce doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. Marquardt nails Pierce with a hard right hand to the side of the head, stunning him. With the cage trapping Pierce, Marquardt gets the underhooks in and looks for a takedown. Marquardt doesn't get the takedown, Pierce instead wrestles his way into controlling the grapple. Pierce looks for an elbow strike, but Marquardt out-wrestles him and switches them around so that he is in the dominant position. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. With Pierce stuck against the cage, Marquardt gets the underhooks and looks for a takedown. Marquardt gets the takedown by using the underhooks for control and working a trip! He gets side control! Pierce takes a crunching knee strike to the ribs from under side control! Marquardt uses side control to hit a knee just above the hip. Marquardt starts trying to work to go from side control to mount. Marquardt shifts to mount. Nate Marquardt is looking really tired. We have one minute of the round remaining. Marquardt tries to lock Pierce in an armbar. Marquardt gets the armbar, sinks it in deeply, and Pierce has to tap!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

The fight begins! McCall isn't drawn in by Lineker feinting to his left. Lineker keeps his cool as McCall throws a feint to the left. McCall swiftly avoids a barrage of big punches. Lineker counters a right kick to the body by hitting a flurry of small strikes. McCall avoids several big right hands and counters with a clean jab. Advancing, Lineker counters a left jab by using a series of big punches, putting McCall down on the ground! Almost immediately McCall has shaken it off and is ready for Lineker. We move into the second half of this round. Lineker looks to get on top of McCall. McCall moves quickly, scrambling for position before Lineker can get a hold. McCall manages to come out on top, with Lineker pulling half guard. McCall attempts to pass half guard and gain a better position. McCall struggles but cannot find a way past and remains stuck in half guard. Lineker tries a sweep from the bottom of half guard, but doesn't budge McCall. McCall unloads with some big elbows, but Lineker deals with them comfortably. Lineker tries to sweep McCall but doesn't get anywhere. There's under a minute left in this round. McCall throws a few right hands as he takes a moment to plan ahead. McCall tries to pound on Lineker with elbows, but all the blows are comfortably dealt with. Round one is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

I have to give that round to Lineker, but only a 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

We are back underway! Lineker feints to the right, trying to draw McCall into throwing a strike. McCall isn't drawn in by Lineker feinting to his left. McCall avoids a flurry of rights and lefts and hits a clean jab. A right kick to the legs misses and Lineker fires back with a series of quick punches. McCall looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Lineker. Not wanting to grapple, Lineker uses strikes to keep McCall at a distance. Lineker drops a shoulder, trying to sucker McCall in with a feint. Lineker counters an attempted body kick by scoring with several big right hands, putting McCall down, dazed! We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Lineker starts pounding away on McCall, looking to finish him off! Lineker unloads with massive punches, McCall is getting destroyed! The referee jumps in and saves McCall from taking any more shots!</p><p> </p><p>

We are underway! Tavares steps back to avoid a leg kick. Poirier counters a left jab with a nice right hand. Tavares avoids a tight combination. Tavares uses a nice combination as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. Poirier tries to step away from the takedown. Tavares can't get the takedown, Poirier was too quick to back away. Tavares bobs and weaves, trying to get Poirier to commit. Poirier isn't drawn in by Tavares feinting to his left. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Tavares looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Tavares grabs Poirier and pulls him into a grapple. Tavares grabs an arm and tries and pull Poirier down to the ground into his guard. He achieves it, Poirier is now on the ground in his guard. Tavares raises his legs and tries to get Poirier into a triangle choke. Poirier blocks the attempt. Poirier looks to pass guard and get side control. Tavares comfortably blocks the attempt and keeps Poirier in guard. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Tavares brings his legs up and tries to lock Poirier in a triangle choke. Poirier blocks the attempt. Poirier attempts to pass guard and gain a better position. He can't quite manage to get past guard on this attempt. Time expires and we come to the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

That was a close round, but I'm giving it to Poirier, 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number two begins! Between rounds, his corner told Tavares to watch for strikes but to be aware of takedown opportunities. Tavares slips out of the way of a combination of short sharp punches. Tavares steps back to avoid a right jab. Tavares steps back to avoid a right jab. Poirier feints left and tries to get Tavares to commit to a strike, but gets no joy. Poirier is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. A counter left catches Poirier above the eye. Tavares chooses to shoot in on Poirier. Tavares eats a stiff counter left hand and almost goes down! Poirier looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Tavares. Standing his ground, Tavares looks happy to engage Poirier in the pocket. A left jab misses, giving Poirier the chance to hit back with a kick to the body. We move into the second half of this round. Tavares, standing at close range, catches a body kick and goes for a takedown, down goes Poirier! He pulls guard though. Time slips away as Tavares successfully keeps Poirier stuck against the ground. In guard, Tavares begins working to pass to side control. Tavares gets past the guard with a certain degree of ease and gains side control. Tavares looks to get a mount. Poirier can't fend off his opponent and is mounted. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Tavares pounds away from the mount, and Poirier struggles to deal with them. Tavares fires away with punches, and Poirier is stung by several big shots. Tavares pounds away with punches, but doesn't do much damage, if any, Poirier covers up well. Tavares takes the back as Poirier tries to sweep him! Round two ends as time expires. Good round, that's the sort of action we like to see.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Tavares.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

And here we go, round three! Poirier isn't drawn in by Tavares feinting to his left. An attempted body kick misses and Tavares fires back with a crisp left hand punch. Tavares looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Poirier. Tavares can't get close enough to grapple, Poirier makes sure to keep out of range. Poirier throws a swift jab but doesn't do any damage. The fight slows as Tavares sits back and allows Poirier to circle. Dustin Poirier doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. Poirier throws a looping punch, but Tavares avoids it. It seems that Tavares is happy to let Poirier circle for the moment. We move into the second half of this round. Moving in closer, a tired-looking Poirier apparently wants to strike from the pocket. Poirier and Tavares get closer, both looking eager to engage at close range. Tavares looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Poirier. Poirier finds himself pulled into a grappling contest. Tavares is looking to muscle Poirier back against the cage. He does so, and now has Poirier pinned to the cage. Thiago Tavares doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. Tavares shows great control, keeping Poirier pressed against the cage while punishing him with sharp strikes to the body for roughly half a minute. We have one minute of the round remaining. Smothered against the cage, Poirier is stuck there, unable to do anything, until the round ends. Time runs out and that's the end of the fight. </p><p> </p><p>

Henderson springs forward, trying to surprise Guillard and grab one of his legs! Henderson gets hold of a leg, but Guillard is able to pull free before anything further can happen. As a result of that, Henderson is left lying on his back looking up at Guillard. Guillard motions for Henderson to stand up, which he does. Henderson fakes a lunge. Not letting Henderson settle at all, Guillard comes in closer. Guillard counters a right jab by using a sharp kick to the shin. Henderson is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Guillard. He pulls Guillard into a grapple. We move into the second half of this round. Using his wrestling skills, Henderson is trying to push Guillard up against the cage. Henderson does it, Guillard is stuck with his back to the cage. With Guillard stuck against the cage, Henderson gets the underhooks and looks for a takedown. Henderson tries hard but cannot get Guillard off of his feet, and has to settle for slipping behind him instead. A whizzer almost allows Guillard to create enough space to get free, but Henderson shuts that opportunity down. Grappling from behind, Henderson tries to get up onto the back of Guillard to apply a choke. Guillard does his best to fight it off, but Henderson gets the hooks in and forces the fight to the ground. Guillard winds up face down on the ground, with Henderson on top. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Guillard prevents Henderson from getting his hooks in. Guillard tries a roll, but doesn't budge Henderson. Henderson looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Guillard. Henderson can't close the distance, Guillard keeps him away with strikes. Henderson comes in closer, looking to wrestle with Guillard. Henderson grabs Guillard and pulls him into a grapple. We move into the second half of this round. Using his wrestling skills, Henderson is trying to push Guillard up against the cage. He does so, and now has Guillard pinned to the cage. Guillard is trapped against the cage and takes a sharp stomp to the foot. Guillard is controlled up against the cage and takes a hard foot stomp. Henderson has gotten underhooks in and is looking to take Guillard to the ground. The underhooks are used to set up a trip, Guillard is left on his back and has to pull guard. Henderson starts trying to work to get past the guard. He can't find a way past the guard. Henderson has problems keeping control of Guillard, who pulls them both back toward the cage side. Guillard stands by bracing against the cage, but can't shake Henderson who remains in control. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Henderson keeps Guillard up against the cage with wrestling, then uses a hard foot stomp. Henderson stomps down on his opponent's foot. Henderson catches an attempted body kick and goes for a takedown, and gets it! Guillard pulls guard. Henderson tries to pass the guard. Henderson struggles but cannot find a way past and remains stuck in guard. Henderson blocks an attempted sweep. Henderson tries to pass the guard. Guillard comfortably blocks the attempt and keeps Henderson in guard. Using his leg strength, Guillard pushes Henderson away, where he stands. Henderson avoids an up-kick and is able to catch Guillard with a nice punch. Henderson tries to come in and secure a ground position. Guillard scoots backward as soon as Henderson comes in, initiating a scramble for position. The scramble sees Henderson up first, only to be grabbed in a waist lock from behind. We go past the halfway point of this round. Guillard tries to punch Henderson from behind, but he is struggling around too much. Henderson breaks free from Guillard, and circles back to the center. Guillard comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Guillard is now standing in the pocket. Henderson sees a body kick coming, grabs it, shoots in for a takedown, down goes Guillard! He pulls guard though. Ben Henderson is breathing very hard. In guard, Henderson begins working to pass to side control. Henderson struggles but cannot find a way past and remains stuck in guard. Guillard tries to sweep Henderson but doesn't get anywhere. We're into the final minute of the round. Henderson looks to pass guard and get side control. Henderson slips out of the way of a body kick. Melvin Guillard looks very tired out there. Guillard fakes a lunge. Henderson doesn't press the issue, allowing Guillard to circle. Henderson dives forward, trying to grab a leg! The attempt doesn't work, Guillard got out of range too quickly. Guillard is left standing above Henderson, who is flat on his back. On his back, Henderson watches as Guillard comes in looking to get a dominant ground position. Guillard is quick, Henderson can't stop him getting side control. Guillard tries to get into the mount position. Advancing his position, he gets mount. We move into the second half of this round. Guillard unloads with big punches from the mount, landing several that clearly hurt Henderson. Melvin Guillard looks very, very tired. Guillard fires away with big punches, but Henderson covers up and doesn't take any undue damage. Guillard blocks an attempt to move him from mount. Guillard pounds away with punches, but doesn't do much damage, if any, Henderson covers up well. Guillard blocks Henderson as he tries a sweep. Ben Henderson seems to be fighting against exhaustion. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Guillard pounds away from the mount, but Henderson covers up and defends them well. Henderson tries to get to half guard but can't. Guillard tries to pound on Henderson, but all the blows are comfortably dealt with. The gas tank looks empty on Melvin Guillard. Round four is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! Henderson avoids a quick jab and hits a nice jab. A couple of ragged punches are used to set up a takedown attempt from a visibly tired Henderson. Guillard attempts to avoid Henderson as he shoots in. Henderson can't get the takedown, Guillard was too quick to back away. Slowly moving in closer, a ragged-looking Henderson wants to wrestle Guillard. Guillard finds himself pulled into a grappling contest. Henderson is trying to muscle Guillard up against the cage. Henderson achieves it, pinning Guillard to the cage. Ben Henderson looks totally gassed. With Guillard stuck against the cage, Henderson gets the underhooks and looks for a takedown. Henderson can't get the takedown, but does get behind Guillard when he attempts to wriggle free. Guillard turns Henderson slightly, but can't create enough space to get free of the clinch. Grappling from behind, Henderson attempts to wrestle Guillard to the ground. Henderson has to struggle for it, but is eventually rewarded with the takedown. He can't find a way past the guard. Rela throws out some punches, but Filho leans back to avoid them. We go past the halfway point of this round. Filho is trying to pass guard. Rela comfortably blocks the attempt and keeps Filho in guard. Rela tries to ensnare Filho in a triangle. Filho blocks the triangle attempt. The referee decides that there is a lack of progress being made and stands them back up. We're into the final minute of the round. A speculative right hand from Filho doesn't find a home. It seems that Rela is happy to let Filho circle for the moment. Filho comes in, looking for a quick takedown. The takedown is successful, Rela pulls guard. Filho unloads with some big elbows, but Rela deals with them comfortably. Rela grabs an arm and raises his legs, trying to lock Filho into a triangle choke. Filho doesn't let Rela get it. <strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number two begins! Between rounds, his corner told Filho to watch for strikes but to be aware of takedown opportunities. Rela squirms out of it and takes down Filho, taking his back! Filho prevents Rela from getting his hooks in. Rela blocks an attempt to roll him off of the back. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Filho prevents Rela from getting his hooks in. Filho tries a roll, but doesn't budge Rela. Rela tries to hook Filho in a rear naked choke. Filho does well to roll over and spin out, ending up in his opponent's guard. Rela should have gotten hooks in before attempting that submission. Paulo Filho doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. Rela is controlled against the ground, unable to shift Filho off of him. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Filho lies on top of Rela, basically smothering him. Time expires and we come to the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>

Munduruca launches a knee strike but Oliveira is ready, catches the leg, and uses some wrestling to turn it around so that Munduruca is the one against the cage. Oliveira tries dirty boxing, but Munduruca out-wrestles him and switches them around so that he is in the dominant position. Oliveira uses his wrestling skills to prevent Munduruca from throwing any knee strikes. Oliveira gets caught with a knee to the inside of the thigh. We move into the second half of this round. Munduruca looks for a knee strike, but Oliveira out-wrestles him and switches them around so that he is in the dominant position. Having been stuck against the cage for a while without any progress, the referee brings them back to the center. A leg kick misses badly, giving Oliveira an opening to score with a jab. Munduruca looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Oliveira. Munduruca grabs Oliveira and pulls him into a grapple. Munduruca is looking to muscle Oliveira back against the cage. He does so, and now has Oliveira pinned to the cage. We have one minute of the round remaining. Munduruca steps back to achieve some separation from Oliveira and gets ready to strike. Oliveira scores with a solid left jab from in the pocket. Oliveira uses a flurry of quick punches to sting Munduruca. Time expires and we come to the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number two begins! Oliveira avoids a jab. Munduruca avoids a flurry of punches. Munduruca looks to be trying to close the distance between them. A counter left catches Munduruca above the eye. Oliveira is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. Seeing an opportunity, Munduruca goes straight into a takedown, putting Oliveira down into guard. Rodrigo Munduruca is looking really tired. Munduruca wants to stand up, but cannot get out of guard. Oliveira tries to ensnare an arm. Oliveira uses the threat of a kimura to turn Munduruca and get side control. Oliveira looks to get a mount. Advancing his position, he gets mount. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Oliveira attempts an americana. Munduruca fights off the americana attempt. Munduruca tries to move Oliveira enough to get half guard, but can't get enough space. Oliveira attempts an americana. Lima throws a nice sequence of punches, but Aliev covers up and none of the shots finds a home. Lima slips past a jab and scores with a stinging jab. Lima throws an excellent combination but Aliev covers up and takes them. Using head movement, Aliev slips past a left jab and counters with a stinging jab. Aliev slips past a jab and scores with a clean punch. We go past the halfway point of this round. A flurry of rights and lefts all miss, allowing Aliev to hit a crisp left. Using head movement to slip past a left jab, Aliev hits a crisp left. Slipping past a left jab, Lima hits a crisp left jab. Seeing a right kick to the body coming, Aliev leans in and strikes with a nice jab. Using head movement to slip past a left jab, Aliev hits a punch. Aliev slips past a straight punch and hits a nice left. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. A left jab misses, Lima counters with a quick right hook, catching Aliev wide open and putting him down! Lima starts pounding away on Aliev, looking to finish him off! There's the bell for the start of the round! Lima steps back to avoid a barrage of big punches. Aliev feints left, then right. Lima swiftly avoids a barrage of big punches. Lima keeps his cool as Aliev throws a feint to the left. Aliev hops around from foot to foot, looking for an opening. It seems that Lima is happy to let Aliev circle for the moment. Lima isn't drawn in by Aliev feinting as if about to drop down to shoot in. Lima side-steps a barrage of big punches and hits a jab. We move into the second half of this round. A big right hand doesn't find its intended target, allowing Lima to fire back with a stinging leg kick. Aliev gets Lima with a punch to the ribs, but it lacked power. Time slips away as Lima doesn't press Aliev, allowing him to circle. Aliev drops his shoulder and fakes going for a single leg, causing Lima to tense up ready to sprawl. Aliev follows up by throwing a vicious right uppercut, but Lima evades it at the last second. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Aliev looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Lima. Aliev is now standing in the pocket. Aliev sees a low kick being set up and takes the opportunity to strike first with a great right hand, Lima is knocked down! He is out!</p><p> </p><p>

Suganuma can't get the takedown, Oliva defends it well and pulls them into a clinch. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Oliva uses underhooks to gain solid control, and is looking for a takedown. Suganuma blocks the takedown attempt and takes control of the grapple. Getting underhooks, Suganuma looks for a takedown. Oliva blocks the takedown attempt. Oliva pushes away and manages to get clear of the grapple. Oliva narrowly misses Suganuma with a right uppercut. Suganuma presses in closer to attack. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Suganuma comes in, looking for a quick takedown. Suganuma can't get past the sprawl of Oliva, and finds himself pushed face-down to the ground. Oliva pounds away, the turtled up Suganuma is barely able to offer any defence at all!
