<strong>Welterweight Bout: (#11) Tyron Woodley (13-2) VS. Kelvin Gastelum (8-1)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

And here we go! Woodley feints rushing in, but withdraws. Both fighters come in and throw strikes, there is no real damage done by either. They wind up in a tight clinch. Woodley attempts to pick Gastelum up for a slam. Woodley gets it! Gastelum manages to pull guard upon impact. Woodley tries to pass the guard. He can't find a way past the guard. Gastelum tries to sweep Woodley but can't do it. Woodley attempts to pass guard and gain a better position. Woodley struggles but cannot find a way past and remains stuck in guard. Gastelum tries to catch Woodley with a punch, but it is not on target. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Woodley looks to get past the guard. He can't quite manage to get past guard on this attempt. Woodley gets pushed back thanks to a butterfly guard, and Gastelum quickly scrambles. He may regret that choice, as it gives Woodley the perfect opportunity to come over the top and get side control. There's under a minute left in this round. Woodley tries to lock Gastelum into an armbar. Woodley gets an armbar and applies pressure to the arm, Gastelum is in huge trouble! Out of the blue, Gastelum pops his arm free! Woodley must not have had it locked in as tight as it looked. Gastelum tries to break free and scramble for position, but Woodley keeps him trapped. Woodley uses side control to hit a brutal knee strike just above the hip! Round one is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

I think Woodley took that round, 10-9 on my score card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

And here we go, round two! Gastelum slips past a left jab and fires back with a couple of jabs and a right cross. Woodley shoots in, looking for a takedown. Gastelum sees the takedown coming and tries to move. Woodley doesn't get the takedown, Gastelum avoided it. Gastelum drops his shoulder and feints to step in, but Woodley isn't buying it. Woodley narrowly misses Gastelum with a right uppercut. Not letting Woodley settle at all, Gastelum comes in closer. Gastelum moves in quickly after a wayward punch and hits a couple of hard right hands! As he backs off it becomes clear that Woodley is on rubbery legs, that last shot rocked him! Woodley regains his wits just in time to duck under the head kick that would have surely ended the fight. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Woodley moves out of range of a tidy combination of punches. Woodley sees a right body kick coming, grabs it, shoots in for a takedown, getting it! Gastelum manages to pull guard. Woodley pounds away with elbows, but doesn't do much damage, if any, Gastelum is comfortable holding guard. Gastelum works some separation, then tries to quickly scramble his way into a better position. Woodley is too quick though, and grabs side control before Gastelum can get up. Woodley is trying to move from side control to mount. He can't mount Gastelum. Gastelum tries to sweep Woodley but can't do it. We're into the final minute of the round. Woodley attempts an arm triangle. Gastelum gets caught by the arm triangle! It's deep, but he just won't quit! Shockingly, Woodley loses it! Gastelum pops his head free, and has somehow survived! Round two ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

An extremely close round, could have gone either way, but personally I'll give it to Gastelum 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

And here we go, round three! Woodley throws a feint. Woodley is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Gastelum. Gastelum keeps himself moving out of range, not wanting to grapple. Breathing very hard, Kelvin Gastelum is looking ragged. There's a takedown attempt from Woodley. The takedown is successful, Gastelum pulls guard. Woodley smothers Gastelum with his body by pushing forward and down. Woodley smothers Gastelum with his body by pushing forward and down. Woodley starts trying to work to get past the guard. Gastelum comfortably blocks the attempt and keeps Woodley in guard. Woodley blocks Gastelum as he tries a sweep from the guard. We move into the second half of this round. The clock runs down as Gastelum is being smothered against the ground by Woodley. There's under a minute left in this round. The lengthy period of stalemate results in the referee standing them both back up. Moving in closer, Woodley looks like he may want to wrestle Gastelum. Not keen on wrestling Woodley, Gastelum uses movement to keep out of reach. Kelvin Gastelum looks like he is on the verge of exhaustion. Moving in closer, Woodley looks like he may want to wrestle Gastelum. Woodley grabs Gastelum and pulls him into a grapple. Tyron Woodley doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. The time expires on round three, and that is the end of the fight.</p><p> </p><p>

I have to give that round to Woodley, but only a 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

The judges have given their scores, which are about to be announced. The judges score the contest as 29-28, 30-27 and 30-27.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Featherweight Bout: (#2) Cub Swanson (20-6) vs. (#6) Hatsu Hioki (29-7-2)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

And here we go! Swanson avoids a jab. Hioki feints left, then right. Hioki slips out of the way of a jab. Hioki avoids a tight combination. Both fighters fire off strikes, neither produces any significant damage. Hioki keeps his cool as Swanson throws a feint to the left. Hioki avoids a nice combination. We move into the second half of this round. Hioki bobs and weaves. Not letting Hioki settle, Swanson moves in closer. A tidy combination doesn't find a home, giving Hioki the opportunity to counter with a left. Hioki comes in, looking for a quick takedown. Swanson tries to counter with a right hand, but is too slow. The takedown is successful, Hioki almost gets side control but has to settle for half guard. We're into the final minute of the round. Hioki attempts to kimura Swanson from the top of half guard. Swanson stops Hioki from applying it. Swanson tries to ensnare an arm. Hioki blocks it. Time expires and we come to the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Hioki.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

Round two begins! Hioki feints left and throws an excellent combination but Swanson is just able to cover up in time. A left jab misses and Hioki strikes back with a kick to the inside of the left thigh. A jab doesn't find its intended target, allowing Hioki to fire back with a vicious leg kick. There's a stalemate as both fighters throw strikes, but neither scores. From the missed strikes they clinch. Hioki is trying to muscle Swanson up against the cage. Hioki achieves it, pinning Swanson to the cage. Unable to get free, Swanson is smothered up against the cage for about thirty seconds. We move into the second half of this round. Swanson is controlled up against the cage and takes a hard foot stomp. With the cage trapping Swanson, Hioki gets the underhooks in and looks for a takedown. He lifts his opponent and drives him down with a Greco-Roman slam! Swanson pulls guard. Hioki looks to get past the guard. Hioki struggles but cannot find a way past and remains stuck in guard. Swanson secures an arm and tries to ensnare Hioki in a triangle. Hioki blocks the triangle attempt. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Hioki throws a few right hands, but is mainly trying to catch his breath. Hioki starts trying to work to get past the guard. He eventually passes, but only into half guard. The time is up, and that's the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>

I think Hioki took that round, 10-9 on my score card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

Round three begins! Swanson moves in quickly after a wayward punch and hits a lightning fast couple of jabs and a right cross. Swanson counters a wayward left jab with a solid left. Swanson drops a shoulder, trying to sucker Hioki in with a feint. A jab misses and Hioki counters with a clean left. Hioki avoids a nice combination. Moving in closer, Swanson looks like he wants to strike from the pocket. The two fighters move closer, ready to strike. We go past the halfway point of this round. Swanson backs away to create some more space. Swanson glances a strike off the side of the shoulder. Hioki quickly gets in closer, looking to attack. Hioki throws a combination of rights and lefts, using them as cover so that he can shoot in. Swanson tries to avoid the takedown. Hioki doesn't get the takedown, Swanson avoided it. Hioki avoids a quick jab and hits a left. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Hioki slips out of the way of a jab. Hioki looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Swanson keeps himself moving out of range, not wanting to grapple. The time expires on round three, and that is the end of the fight.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Middleweight Bout: (#2) Ronaldo Souza (21-3-1 NC) vs. (#7) Mark Munoz (14-4)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

And here we go! Jacare avoids a jab. Munoz comes in closer, looking to wrestle with Jacare. The two fighters start grappling for control. Munoz is looking to muscle Jacare back against the cage. Munoz manages it, and controls Jacare up against the cage. Munoz shows his grappling ability by pinning Jacare up against the cage and keeps him there for about thirty seconds. Showing how good he can be at controlling opponents, Munoz keeps Jacare stuck against the cage for about thirty seconds. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Munoz steps back to achieve some separation from Jacare and gets ready to strike. A flurry of rights and lefts all miss, allowing Munoz to hit a left jab to the cheek. Munoz throws a left jab but Jacare uses good head movement to make sure it slips by. Munoz comes in closer, looking to wrestle with Jacare. Jacare tries to catch him by surprise with a takedown attempt, but it is blocked. We have one minute of the round remaining. Moving in closer, Munoz looks like he may want to wrestle Jacare. Munoz grabs Jacare and pulls him into a grapple. Munoz is trying to push Jacare so that his back is up against the cage. Munoz does it, Jacare is stuck with his back to the cage. Jacare waits for Munoz to throw an elbow, then uses wrestling to turn him around so that Munoz now has his back to the cage. Round one ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

Round two begins! Jacare avoids a jab. Jacare avoids a jab and scores with a clean jab. Moving in closer, Munoz looks like he may want to wrestle Jacare. Seeing an opportunity, Jacare avoids the grapple and goes straight for a takedown, but Munoz is equal to it. Jacare is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Munoz. Munoz seems happy to grapple with Jacare. Clinched with Munoz, Jacare looks to try and take him down. The takedown doesn't work, Munoz blocked it and then takes control of the grapple. Munoz is trying to push Jacare so that his back is up against the cage. Munoz manages it, and controls Jacare up against the cage. Breathing very hard, Mark Munoz is looking ragged. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Jacare gets caught with a knee to the inside of the thigh. Munoz hits a knee strike to the thigh. Munoz launches an elbow strike but Jacare is ready and uses some wrestling to turn around so that Munoz is the one against the cage. Jacare smothers Munoz up against the cage while using the occasional short sharp punch to the body, keeping him stuck there for a full minute. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Jacare tries dirty boxing, but Munoz out-wrestles him and switches them around so that he is in the dominant position. With the fight having been stuck against the cage for a lengthy period of time, the referee restarts them back in the center. Round two is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

That was a close round, but I'm giving it to Jacare, 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

Round three begins! An errant jab sets Jacare up to counter-strike with a nice left hand. Jacare throws out a couple of jabs as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. Munoz stuffs the takedown attempt. Jacare throws out a quick left jab. The fight slows as Munoz sits back and allows Jacare to circle. Ronaldo Souza is breathing very hard. Jacare tries for a left jab but Munoz moves out of range. Looking tired, Jacare comes in closer, attempting to wrestle with Munoz. Jacare can't get near enough to engage, Munoz uses strikes to keep him out of range. Mark Munoz seems to be fighting against exhaustion. We go past the halfway point of this round. Jacare steps back to avoid a left jab. A flicked jab from Jacare only finds gloves. The fight slows as Munoz sits back and allows Jacare to circle. Jacare, who looks drained, throws a couple of slow jabs as cover so that he can go for a takedown. Jacare can't get the takedown, Munoz defended it well. Ronaldo Souza seems to be fighting against exhaustion. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Jacare throws a speculative right, but it is nowhere near hitting. Munoz doesn't press the issue, allowing Jacare to circle. We reach the time limit and this fight is over.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Munoz.</p><p> </p><p>

Round one begins! Advancing, Yahya counters a left jab by using a clean left. Moving in closer, Faber looks like he may want to wrestle Yahya. Yahya tries to single leg Faber as he moves forward, but he is too quick to step away. Yahya tries for a left jab but Faber moves out of range. Both fighters throw strikes at the same time, both miss. Faber looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Yahya.Yahya moves in too, and they start to grapple. Faber is trying to push Yahya so that his back is up against the cage. Yahya ends up backed against the cage. With Yahya stuck against the cage, Faber gets the underhooks and looks for a takedown. Faber doesn't get the takedown, Yahya instead wrestles his way into controlling the grapple. We are now at the halfway point of the round. With the cage trapping Faber, Yahya looks to try and take him down. Faber digs in and manages to defend the takedown. Faber wrestles free of Yahya and backs off to the center. A couple of quick punches are used to set up a takedown attempt from Yahya. Yahya can't get the takedown, Faber defended it well. We have one minute of the round remaining. Faber looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Yahya sees a chance for a takedown attempt, but Faber is able to defend it. Round one is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

Round two begins! Judging from what we heard from his corner, Faber is looking to avoid strikes and take it to the ground in this round. Yahya avoids a tight combination. Yahya slips past a left jab and fires back with a nice jab. A couple of quick punches are used to set up a takedown attempt from Yahya. Yahya can't get the takedown, Faber defended it well. Yahya gets Faber with a punch to the ribs, but it lacked power. Not letting up, Faber quickly steps in closer to attack Yahya. Yahya avoids a jab. Faber slams a crisp right into the gloves of Yahya, but can't follow up. Time slips away as Yahya doesn't press Faber, allowing him to circle. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Yahya throws a couple of jabs, then chooses to shoot in on Faber. The takedown is unsuccessful, Faber blocked Yahya. Moving in closer, Faber looks like he wants to strike from the pocket. Yahya tries to catch him by surprise with a takedown attempt, but it is blocked. Yahya bobs and weaves. Faber doesn't let Yahya settle, stepping in closer to impose himself. There's under a minute left in this round. Faber shoots in for a takedown. He gets a big takedown and he ends up in half guard. Faber fires off a few punches as he catches his breath. Time expires and we come to the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>

That was a very close round, but I think Yahya just about edged it.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

Round three begins! Yahya avoids a flurry of rights and lefts. Moving in closer, Faber looks like he may want to wrestle Yahya. The two fighters start grappling for control. Using his wrestling skills, Faber is trying to push Yahya up against the cage. Faber manages it, and controls Yahya up against the cage. Urijah Faber is breathing very hard. Faber tries to keep him pressed up against the cage with wrestling, but Yahya isn't allowing it. Yahya manages to slap on a standing guillotine choke! The guillotine is locked in, tight enough that Faber has to tap out!</p><p> </p><p>

The winner, by submission; Rani Yahya!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

We are underway! A tidy combination doesn't find a home, giving Vera the opportunity to counter with a swift left kick to the leg. A barrage of punches miss and Vera strikes back with a kick to the outside of the left leg. A left kick to the legs misses and Browne fires back with a crunching right hook to the body. Advancing, Browne counters a right jab by using two big right hands! Retreating, Vera looks punch-drunk...he may be in big trouble! Browne sees his chance to finish and unloads with a barrage of big rights, but Vera recovers quickly enough to cover up. Browne is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. Vera uses his strikes to stop Browne from getting too close. Vera is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Browne. Browne throws a big right hand as a counter, but it misses the target. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Vera just avoids a combination of short sharp punches and hits a kick to the inside of the left thigh. Travis Browne won't want to take too many unchecked strikes to the legs like that. Browne slips past a right jab and fires back with a couple of jabs and a beautiful right hook to the body. Vera looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Browne. Browne is pulled into a grapple. Vera gets a couple of ineffective strikes in, but ultimately loses control of the grapple after being caught off-balance. There's under a minute left in this round. Browne and Vera separate and we're back to a stand-off. Vera looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Browne uses his strikes to stop Vera from getting close enough to grapple. Round one ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Browne.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number two begins! Judging from what we heard from his corner, Vera is looking to hit Browne on the counter. A tight combination narrowly misses Vera and allow him to counter-strike with a clean jab. Vera counters a left jab by hitting a big left kick to the outside of the thigh. Travis Browne is now clearly favouring one leg. Vera is doing the smart thing by targeting the legs. Browne is less of a threat on his feet if he is limping around. An exchange of strikes goes nowhere. From the missed strikes they clinch. Vera gets a couple of ineffective strikes in, but ultimately loses control of the grapple after being caught off-balance. Vera gets caught with a couple of nice short punches as Browne uses his dirty boxing to inflict some punishment. Browne tries to throw some close-range strikes as they grapple, but the attempts are smothered by Vera. Browne and Vera break the grapple and are apart again, circling. We go past the halfway point of this round. Vera comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Vera is in the pocket, ready to attack Browne. A right jab misses the mark and allows Browne to counter with a barrage of big rights, knocking Vera down! Browne moves in quickly, kneeling beside Vera and starting to hammer down with punches! Browne fires away with punches, Vera is taking several big shots. The strikes are stopped when Vera manages to pull Browne down into side control. Travis Browne is breathing very hard. Browne throws a few right hands, but is mainly trying to catch his breath. Browne throws a few strikes, but is clearly slowing things down so that he can catch his breath. There's under a minute left in this round. Browne stands up and backs off, letting Vera stand up as well. Vera feints left and throws an excellent combination but Browne is just able to cover up in time. Round two ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

I have to give that round to Browne, but only a 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! Browne steps back to avoid a leg kick, having been suckered in with a feinted high kick. There's a short stalemate as both fighters advance and throw strikes, but neither hits. Having ended up close together from the strikes they threw, a wild exchange of punches begins! Browne eats a huge left hook and his legs buckle! Browne, stunned, is mounted! Vera has solid control over Browne, and starts pounding away with strikes. There's lots of strikes landing, Browne needs to find a way out of this position quickly! The referee gives Browne time to do something, but eventually has to come in and stop the fight!</p><p> </p><p>

The Test, which was taken before his fight with Hatsu Hioki, is said to have come up positive for some (currently unnamed) banned substances. If upheld, this will mean a mandatory one year suspension from competition for the 30 year old fighter.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Herrig slips past a jab and scores with a jab. A left jab misses the mark and allows Herrig to counter with a kick to the inside of the left thigh. Checking a leg kick, Esparza counters back immediately with some heavy right hands! We pass the halfway mark of this round. Esparza dodges a jab, and fires back with a clean punch. A left jab misses, Herrig counters with a punch. Good head movement allows Herrig to go under a vicious right hand and immediately counter with a crisp left hook to the body. A left jab misses, Herrig counters with a flurry of small strikes. Esparza checks a low kick and quickly hits a crisp left. We're into the final minute of the round. Esparza uses head movement to dodge a jab, and counters with a crisp left. Herrig uses head movement to avoid a left jab. Esparza sees a right kick coming and so moves forward to strike with a solid left jab. The time is up, and that's the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

The attempt is successful, Cive is sucked down into her guard. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Gurgel brings her legs up and tries to lock Cive in a triangle choke. Cive defends well against it. Cive is trying to pass guard. She passes the guard well, gaining side control. Cive tries to slip behind and take the back. Gurgel keeps Cive from getting behind her. Gurgel takes the opportunity and manages to pull half guard. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Cive punches down at Gurgel, but they are easily taken on the gloves. Cive looks to pass half guard and get side control. She finds herself unable to get past the half guard on this attempt. Round one is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

Round two begins! Between rounds, her corner told Gurgel to watch for strikes but to be aware of takedown opportunities. Cive tries for a left jab but Gurgel moves out of range. Advancing, Gurgel counters a left jab by using a solid left. Moving in closer, Gurgel looks like she may want to wrestle Cive. Cive finds herself pulled into a grappling contest. Using her wrestling skills, Gurgel is trying to push Cive up against the cage. Gurgel achieves it, pinning Cive to the cage. With the cage trapping Cive, Gurgel looks to try and take her down. Cive keeps her composure, and Gurgel cannot get past her takedown defence. Cive tries to get clear of the grapple, but Gurgel holds her in place. With Cive stuck against the cage, Gurgel tries to complete a takedown. Gurgel tries hard but cannot get Cive off of her feet. Cive turns Gurgel slightly, but can't create enough space to get free of the clinch. We go past the halfway point of this round. With the cage trapping Cive, Gurgel looks to try and take her down. Cive digs in and manages to defend the takedown. Cive tries to get free of the clinch, but is stuck. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Gurgel looks for a trip takedown. Cive will not go down, she blocks the takedown despite the best efforts of Gurgel, but does give up her back in the struggle. Cive tries to get clear of the grapple, but Gurgel holds her in place. Gurgel pins Cive face-first up against the cage and uses some strikes to the ribs and side of the face. Round two is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

Gurgel goes under an attempted counter right hand. Gurgel gets a single leg takedown! Cive pulls guard off it. Gurgel begins trying to pass guard and get a better position. Gurgel is too much for Cive, passing guard and gaining side control. Zoila Gurgel looks very tired out there. Gurgel is trying to move from side control to mount. Cive keeps Gurgel at side control, not letting the mount happen. Cive uses an underhook to work some separation, then quickly scrambles. We are now at the halfway point of the round. The scramble ends with both fighters standing, facing each other. Both fighters come in and exchange strikes, but neither does any damage. We're into the final minute of the round. Cive throws out a quick left jab. Not letting Cive settle, Gurgel moves in closer. A weak right kick is countered by Gurgel with a crisp left hand punch. Jasminka Cive is breathing very hard. We are underway! Howard fakes a shot, trying to get Marquardt to drop his hands. Marquardt avoids a body kick. A nicely executed one-two combination sets up a takedown attempt from Marquardt. The takedown is completed, Howard is on his back and pulls guard. Marquardt begins trying to pass the guard. Marquardt gets past, but Howard stops him at half guard. Marquardt tries to pass the half guard. Marquardt struggles but cannot find a way past and remains stuck in half guard. Howard attempts a guillotine choke from the bottom of half guard. Marquardt pulls his head free before the hold can be applied properly. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Marquardt attempts to pass half guard and gain a better position. Howard comfortably blocks the attempt and keeps Marquardt in half guard. Howard tries to pull Marquardt into a guillotine choke from the bottom of half guard. Marquardt defends it well. We're into the final minute of the round. Marquardt tries to lock Howard into an arm triangle. Howard doesn't allow the arm triangle to be applied. Using an underhook to set it up, Howard looks to scramble for position. There wasn't enough separation though, Marquardt is able to catch him and secure side control. The time runs out on round one.</p><p> </p><p>

I think Marquardt took that round, 10-9 on my score card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

And here we go, round two! An exchange of strikes doesn't lead to any real damage. Moving in closer, Marquardt looks like he may want to wrestle Howard. Marquardt can't get close enough to grapple, Howard makes sure to keep out of range. Howard looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Marquardt. Marquardt strikes first and manages to rock Howard with a solid right, sending him down to the ground, stunned! Marquardt doesn't have time to capitalise though, as Howard recovers his wits quickly. Marquardt tries to come in and secure a ground position. Howard tries to get free, but Marquardt is able to secure side control. Marquardt tries to slip behind and take the back. Marquardt takes the back, Howard couldn't stop it. Marquardt successfully gets both hooks in, and seems primed to finish. We move into the second half of this round. Marquardt, with both hooks in, attempts to get a rear naked choke fully applied. Howard stops Marquardt from getting his arm under the chin and completing the choke. Howard attempts to pull free of the hooks, but Marquardt doesn't allow it. Marquardt attempts to complete a rear naked choke, having both hooks fully in. Howard fights off the rear naked choke attempt. Howard tries to improve his chances of survival by breaking free of the hooks, but they're too tight. There's under a minute left in this round. Marquardt, with both hooks fully in, tries to get the rear naked choke applied. Howard gets flattened out with the rear naked choke, he is in huge trouble but is refusing to tap out! He passes out in the hold! The referee gets in there quickly and stops the fight!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

There's the opening bell! A jab doesn't find its intended target, allowing Manuwa to fire back with a nice jab. Davis is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Manuwa. Seeing an opportunity, Manuwa avoids the grapple and goes straight for a takedown, but Davis is equal to it. Manuwa steps back to avoid a left jab. Davis looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Manuwa seems happy to grapple with Davis. Davis is trying to muscle Manuwa up against the cage. He does so, and now has Manuwa pinned to the cage. Manuwa is trapped up against the cage and takes repeated small punches to the body from that position. This goes on for roughly half a minute. Davis has worked in the underhooks and looks to take Manuwa down. Davis doesn't get the takedown, Manuwa instead wrestles his way into controlling the grapple. We move into the second half of this round. Manuwa attempts to use some close-range elbow strikes but Davis pulls the clinch tighter, making it impossible to launch them. Manuwa tries to hit Davis with an elbow, but Davis takes the opportunity to switch it around so that he is in control and Manuwa is the one backed against the cage. Manuwa waits for Davis to throw an elbow, then uses wrestling to turn him around so that Davis now has his back to the cage. Manuwa tries to throw an elbow, but Davis takes the opportunity to turn his opponent around so that Manuwa ends up backed against the cage instead. Manuwa wrestles back against Davis, turning him around so that he now has his back to the cage. We're into the final minute of the round. The referee thinks there has been too little progress, and brings the two fighters back to the center. Davis is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Manuwa. Manuwa ends up grappling for supremacy with Davis. Davis is looking to muscle Manuwa back against the cage. He does so, and now has Manuwa pinned to the cage. The time is up, and that's the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

I have to give that round to Davis, but only a 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

We are back underway! A jab misses and Davis counters with a solid left jab. Davis is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Manuwa. Manuwa finds himself pulled into a grappling contest. Using his wrestling skills, Davis is trying to push Manuwa up against the cage. He does so, and now has Manuwa pinned to the cage. Manuwa is pressed up against the cage and held there, taking the occasional short punch to the ribs and stomach, for roughly a minute. Showing his ability to control opponents, Davis simply smothers Manuwa against the cage for about half a minute. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Davis tries to keep him up against the cage with wrestling, but Manuwa reverses so that he is the one in control. The referee thinks there has been too little progress, and brings the two fighters back to the center. Manuwa bobs and weaves. Davis doesn't press the issue, allowing Manuwa to circle. Manuwa uses a right hook to the body, but misses. Davis seems to be waiting for Manuwa to make a move. Phil Davis looks very tired out there. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Davis counters a leg kick by grabbing it and attempting a takedown, getting it! Davis is in half guard. Davis throws a few strikes, but is clearly slowing things down so that he can catch his breath. The time runs out on round two.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Davis.</p><p> </p><p>

We are back underway! Davis moves out of range of a tidy combination of punches. Manuwa counters a left jab by using a quick series of punches. Davis steps back to avoid a flurry of punches. St. Pierre counters a right jab by using a clever combination ending in a big right hook. St. Pierre throws a combination of rights and lefts, using them as cover so that he can shoot in. Saffiedine tries to avoid the takedown. St. Pierre doesn't get the takedown, Saffiedine avoided it. St. Pierre fakes a lunge. Saffiedine seems to be waiting for St. Pierre to make a move. St. Pierre looks like he might be trying to get in close to clinch with Saffiedine. St. Pierre grabs Saffiedine and pulls him into a Muay Thai clinch. From the clinch, St. Pierre drives a brutal elbow to the side of the head. Saffiedine wrestles free of the Muay Thai clinch after blocking a knee strike. We are now at the halfway point of the round. St. Pierre throws a speculative right, but it is nowhere near hitting. Saffiedine doesn't press the issue, allowing St. Pierre to circle. Saffiedine throws a looping punch, but St. Pierre avoids it. Not letting up, St. Pierre quickly steps in closer to attack Saffiedine. St. Pierre uses a nice combination as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. Saffiedine tries to step away from the takedown. St. Pierre can't get the takedown, Saffiedine was too quick to back away. We have one minute of the round remaining. St. Pierre is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Saffiedine. St. Pierre grabs Saffiedine and pulls him into a grapple. St. Pierre uses dirty boxing and gets in a few crisp punches on Saffiedine as they grapple. Georges St-Pierre looks very tired out there. With underhooks giving him solid control over Saffiedine, St. Pierre looks for a takedown. St. Pierre gets the takedown by using the underhooks for control and working a trip! Saffiedine pulls guard. Round two is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

That was a yawner of a round, and I think both fighters are now a bit frustrated.</p><p> </p><p>

And here we go, round three! Saffiedine avoids a jab. Looking tired, St. Pierre comes in closer, attempting to wrestle with Saffiedine. He pulls Saffiedine into a grapple. St. Pierre hits Saffiedine with some short strikes to the side of the head while grappling. St. Pierre hits Saffiedine with some short strikes to the side of the head while grappling. Georges St-Pierre seems to be fighting against exhaustion. St. Pierre is trying to muscle Saffiedine up against the cage. Saffiedine ends up backed against the cage. Saffiedine wrestles back against St. Pierre, turning him around so that he now has his back to the cage. Saffiedine drives a knee to the thigh area. Tarec Saffiedine is looking really tired. Saffiedine moves back from the grapple and looks ready to strike. There's a stalemate as both fighters throw strikes but neither hits. We move into the second half of this round. Using head movement, Saffiedine slips past a left jab and counters with a huge left hand and St. Pierre is knocked down! Moving quickly, Saffiedine tries to ensnare the stunned St. Pierre in an armbar. St. Pierre fights off the armbar attempt, and does it well enough to pull free and get back to his feet. Although visibly tired, Saffiedine looks to move in and stand in the pocket. He gets into range. St. Pierre uses head movement to make sure that a massive overhand right doesn't find a home. We have one minute of the round remaining. A left jab misses the mark and allows Saffiedine to counter with a huge left cross and St. Pierre is knocked clean out!</p><p> </p><p>

Lawler throws a spinning back fist but Condit avoids it. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Lawler circles around Condit. Condit steps in closer to force the issue. Condit shoots in for a takedown. Lawler tries to avoid the takedown. Lawler avoids the takedown attempt. There's under a minute left in this round. Condit comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Condit is now standing in the pocket. Moving in closer, Condit looks like he may want to try and clinch with Lawler. Condit grabs Lawler and pulls him into a Muay Thai clinch. Using the clinch, Condit hits a vicious knee to the face! Condit tries a knee strike but doesn't connect, but Lawler isn't able to hit one either. The time runs out on round one.</p><p> </p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! Condit swiftly avoids a barrage of big punches. A feint sets up a left head kick attempt from Lawler, but Condit moves out of range at the last moment. Lawler slips out of the way of a leg kick, having been suckered in with a feint. Lawler darts in, feints a jab, darts back out. Condit comes in closer, looking to clinch with Lawler. He pulls Lawler into a Muay Thai clinch. Lawler uses his grappling to move from being stuck in a Muay Thai clinch to the collar-and-elbow position. Condit looks for a trip takedown. The takedown is completed, Lawler is on his back and pulls guard. Condit attempts to pass guard. He can't quite manage to get past guard on this attempt. Condit gets pulled in tight, and takes a couple of short, sharp punches to the side of the face. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Condit attempts to pass guard. Lawler keeps Condit in guard. Lawler tries to get double underhooks on Condit so that he can get some control, but can't get them. Condit punches down at Lawler, but they are easily taken on the gloves. Lawler tries a sweep from the bottom of the guard, but doesn't budge Condit. We're into the final minute of the round. Condit smothers Lawler with his body by pushing forward and down. In guard, Condit throws a couple of punches designed to keep Lawler guessing. Round two ends as time expires. That was a yawner of a round, and I think both fighters are now a bit frustrated.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Condit.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

Round three begins! Lawler avoids a jab. Lawler feints an attack, keeping Condit on his toes. Condit is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Lawler. Not keen on wrestling Condit, Lawler uses movement to keep out of reach. Condit goes to the body and then to the head with a tidy combination to get Lawler to cover up, then shoots in. Lawler cannot stop the takedown, Condit drove in with too much pace and power. Condit ends up holding a seated Lawler around the waist, pressing him up against the cage. Condit tries to put Lawler into a guillotine choke. Condit gets a guillotine but cannot get Lawler to tap out! It looks like the choke is not perfectly applied, and that is allowing Lawler to breathe. Condit eventually lets go, but may have gassed his arms by trying to squeeze out the submission. Condit starts trying to work to get past the guard. Condit isn't able to pass guard on this attempt. Condit doesn't allow Lawler to lock him up with double underhooks. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Condit throws a few strikes, but they are without venom. Condit can't control Lawler, who scoots them both backward until they are resting against the side of the cage. Using the cage for support, Lawler manages to stand up, bringing Condit up too. Condit tries to take Lawler down. Condit has the takedown, using the fact that Lawler was pressed against the cage to his advantage. Lawler winds up seated, his back to the cage, with Condit pressing onto him. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Condit starts trying to get Lawler on his back so that he can gain a better position. Lawler keeps Condit close in, not letting the mount happen. Carlos Condit doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. Round three is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Condit.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 4</strong></p><p>

And here we go, round four! Condit steps back to avoid a one-two combination. Robbie Lawler is looking really tired. Condit avoids a barrage of punches and hits a left jab to the cheek. A tidy combination doesn't find a home, giving Condit the opportunity to counter with a hard leg kick. Condit avoids a barrage of punches and hits a solid left. Condit avoids a jab. Robbie Lawler seems to be fighting against exhaustion. A right hand misses, allowing Condit to counter with a right kick to the thigh. There's only so many of those strikes to the legs that can be taken before they become an issue. A right jab misses and Condit counters with a clean jab. We move into the second half of this round. A tired Condit moves forward, looking for a takedown. Condit drives forward and gets the takedown! Lawler couldn't quite stop it. Lawler ends up sitting, his legs trapped under Condit, with his back pressed against the cage. Condit begins trying to get himself into a more dominant position. He does well, and manages to get side control over Lawler. We're into the final minute of the round. Condit tries to hit a knee strike, but Lawler squirms around and the blow is only glancing. Carlos Condit looks very, very tired. Condit tries to slip behind and take the back. Condit takes the back, Lawler could do nothing about it. Condit attempts to set up an armbar on Lawler from the back. Lawler defends himself well. Round four is brought to an end as time runs out. That was an exciting round, hopefully the fighters will continue with that pace in the next.</p><p> </p><p>

I think Condit took that round, 10-9 on my score card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 5</strong></p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! Moving forward, Condit counters a series of wayward big punches with a nice jab. A flurry of punches miss Condit and allow him to counter-strike with a scything low kick to the legs. Robbie Lawler looks to be limping slightly. Lawler throws a barrage of big lefts but Condit is quick to move out of range. Robbie Lawler looks like he is almost out on his feet with exhaustion. Condit waits for a flurry of punches to stop, then hits a quick series of punches. A flurry of punches fail to land, giving Condit the opportunity to counter with a sharp kick to the shin. There is no doubt that the damage has added up and Robbie Lawler has an injured leg. Lawler fakes a lunge. The fight slows as Condit sits back and allows Lawler to circle. We go past the halfway point of this round. There's a ragged-looking takedown attempt from a visibly tired Condit. Condit can't get the takedown, Lawler defended it well. The gas tank looks empty on Carlos Condit. Moving in closer, a tired-looking Lawler apparently wants to strike from the pocket. Condit seems happy to engage with Lawler in the pocket. Slipping past a powerful straight left, Condit counters with a vicious leg kick. Robbie Lawler winced as that strike landed. Both throw strikes at each other, both easily defend the other's attempt. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Not comfortable in the pocket, Lawler steps back and creates some space. A drained-looking Condit tries to close the distance between them. Lawler is pulled into a grapple. Condit tries to wrestle Lawler backward and up against the cage. Condit does it, Lawler is stuck with his back to the cage. The time expires on round five, and that is the end of the fight.</p><p> </p><p>

She does excellently, getting past the guard and into side control. Namajunas tries to lock Lima into an armbar. Lima gets caught in an armbar! It's in deep! No! She pops her arm free. Having stepped in close to throw their strikes, they end up grappling. VanZant tries to lock her legs around the waist of Ansaroff, wanting to pull her down to the floor. Ansaroff defends the attempt to drag her down, and takes control of the clinch. Ansaroff is trying to push VanZant so that her back is up against the cage. Ansaroff does it, VanZant is stuck with her back to the cage. VanZant is controlled up against the cage and takes a few right hands via some dirty boxing. Ansaroff smothers VanZant against the cage, then scores with a left to the side of the stomach. Ansaroff steps back to achieve some separation from VanZant and gets ready to strike. A left jab misses, Ansaroff counters with a punch. Ansaroff scores with a left jab from the pocket. Ansaroff tries for a body kick but VanZant sees it coming and avoids it. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Ansaroff circles away, creating some distance between them. Ansaroff tries for a right body kick but VanZant moves out of range. A straight left from Ansaroff fails to land. VanZant quickly gets in closer, looking to attack. Both fighters throw strikes at the same time, both miss. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Stepping in, Ansaroff hits VanZant with a flurry of jabs and straight punches. There's a takedown attempt from VanZant. Ansaroff tries to avoid VanZant. VanZant can't get the takedown, Ansaroff was too quick to back away. The time runs out on round one.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number two begins! VanZant counters a wayward left jab with a left. There's a short stalemate as both fighters advance and throw strikes, but neither hits. They wind up in a tight clinch. Using her wrestling skills, Ansaroff is trying to push VanZant up against the cage. Ansaroff manages it, and controls VanZant up against the cage. Ansaroff attempts to wrestle VanZant to the ground. It looks like VanZant is trying to grab a guillotine. The takedown is successful, VanZant goes down. VanZant ends up sitting, her legs trapped under Ansaroff, with her back pressed against the cage. Ansaroff relinquishes the position and stands up, letting VanZant stand too. VanZant swings wildly to get Ansaroff to cover up, then shoots in looking for a takedown. Ansaroff attempts to avoid VanZant as she shoots in. The takedown is unsuccessful, Ansaroff avoided VanZant. VanZant throws three punches in quick succession, but Ansaroff was out of range. The fight slows as Ansaroff sits back and allows VanZant to circle. We move into the second half of this round. Ansaroff slips past a left jab and fires back with a stinging left jab. VanZant shoots in for a takedown. Ansaroff tries to avoid VanZant. VanZant can't get the takedown, Ansaroff was too quick to back away. VanZant is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. VanZant is now standing in the pocket. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Slipping past a flurry of punches, VanZant counters with a punch. Ansaroff catches VanZant with a solid jab. VanZant slips past a jab and scores with a jab. The time is up, and that's the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>

We are underway! Sarafian steps back to avoid a flurry of punches. Moving forward, Barnatt counters a left jab with a solid left. There's a takedown attempt from Sarafian. Barnatt tries to avoid Sarafian. The takedown doesn't work, Barnatt saw it coming and got out of range. Advancing, Barnatt counters a left jab by using a spinning back fist! Barnatt looks like he might be trying to get in close to clinch with Sarafian. Sarafian tries to take down Barnatt as he steps in, but he blocks it. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Sarafian slips out of the way of a jab. Sarafian chooses to shoot in on Barnatt. Barnatt sees the takedown coming and tries to move. Barnatt avoids the takedown attempt. Barnatt avoids a quick jab and hits a nice jab. We're into the final minute of the round. Barnatt counters an errant left jab with a flurry of jabs and straight punches. A jab misses and Barnatt counters with a left. The time runs out on round one.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! Between rounds, his corner told Sarafian to watch for strikes but to be aware of takedown opportunities. Sarafian drops a shoulder, trying to sucker Barnatt in with a feint. Barnatt feints left and tries to get Sarafian to commit to a strike, but gets no joy. A straight left fails to land and Barnatt is able to fire back with a nice jab. Sarafian avoids a jab. Barnatt steps in but an exchange of strikes goes nowhere. Not letting up, Sarafian quickly steps in closer to attack Barnatt. Sarafian uses a nice combination as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. Barnatt tries to step away from the takedown. Barnatt avoids the takedown attempt. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Moving in closer, Sarafian looks like he wants to strike from the pocket. Keen to maintain some distance, Barnatt uses strikes to keep Sarafian away. A left hand misses, allowing Barnatt to counter with a right kick to the thigh. Sarafian circles around Barnatt. Barnatt doesn't press the issue, allowing Sarafian to circle. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Sarafian chooses to shoot in on Barnatt. Barnatt sees the takedown coming and tries to move. Barnatt avoids the takedown attempt. Round two ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Barnatt.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p> </p><p>

We are back underway! An errant jab sets Barnatt up to counter-strike with a right kick to the thigh. Daniel Sarafian won't want to take too many unchecked strikes to the legs like that. A jab misses and Barnatt counters with a kick to the outside of the left knee. There are signs that Daniel Sarafian is definitely feeling the damage done to his legs. Barnatt is doing the smart thing by targeting the legs. It will cause Sarafian to be slower when attempting takedowns, making them much easier to avoid. Sarafian throws a combination of rights and lefts, using them as cover so that he can shoot in. Barnatt sprawls to stop the takedown, then pulls Sarafian up close into a clinch. Barnatt is trying to force Sarafian into a Muay Thai clinch. He gets it, and now has Sarafian in trouble. Using the clinch, Barnatt hits a vicious knee to the face! Sarafian crumples to the ground, out cold!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

We are underway! Pickett feints to the right, trying to draw Dodson into throwing a strike. Pickett drops his shoulder as a feint, trying to draw a strike. Dodson slips out of the way of a leg kick, having been suckered in with a feint. A jab misses, allowing Dodson to counter-strike with a flurry of quick punches to sting Pickett. Dodson throws three punches in quick succession, but Pickett was out of range. Pickett steps in closer to force the issue. Pickett comes in, looking for a quick takedown. The takedown is successful, Dodson pulls guard. Pickett begins trying to pass guard and get a better position. He can't quite manage to get past guard on this attempt. Dodson tries to sweep Pickett but doesn't get anywhere. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Pickett begins trying to pass guard and get a better position. Dodson keeps his guard secure. Dodson uses his legs to push Pickett away, into a standing position. We have one minute of the round remaining. Dodson deflects a right hand that comes down, and then quickly scrambles back up. Pickett is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. Dodson seems happy to engage with Pickett in the pocket. Time expires and we come to the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

That was a very close round, but I think Dodson just about edged it.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

Round two begins! Dodson doesn't get drawn in as Pickett feints a kick. Moving in closer, Pickett looks like he may want to wrestle Dodson. Dodson ends up grappling for supremacy with Pickett. Pickett uses dirty boxing and gets in a few crisp punches on Dodson as they grapple. Using his wrestling skills, Pickett is trying to push Dodson up against the cage. Dodson ends up backed against the cage. Pickett exerts total control, keeping Dodson smothered against the cage for thirty seconds or so. Pickett tries to throw an elbow, but Dodson takes the opportunity to turn his opponent around so that Pickett ends up backed against the cage instead. With Pickett stuck against the cage, Dodson tries to complete a takedown. Pickett keeps his composure, and Dodson cannot get past his takedown defence. Pickett stuffs the takedown attempt. A jab misses and Dodson counters with a kick to the ribs. Pickett looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Dodson. Dodson ends up grappling for supremacy with Pickett. Dodson tries to wriggle free, but Pickett controls him well and gets in a few close-range punches too. Using his wrestling skills, Pickett is trying to push Dodson up against the cage. Pickett achieves it, pinning Dodson to the cage. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Dodson is controlled up against the cage and takes a hard foot stomp. Dodson takes a knee strike to the inside of his own knee. Dodson wrestles back against Pickett, turning him around so that he now has his back to the cage. Dodson goes for a foot stomp, but Pickett senses the shift in balance and reverses so that he is the one in control. Breathing very hard, Brad Pickett is looking ragged. Pickett tries to keep him up against the cage with wrestling, but Dodson reverses so that he is the one in control. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Unable to get free, Pickett is smothered up against the cage for about sixty seconds. The time expires on round three, and that is the end of the fight.</p><p> </p><p>

McGregor takes a knee strike to the ribs from under side control. Oliveira begins trying to get himself into a mount. He is too good for McGregor, and has mount. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Oliveira catches an attempted body kick and goes for a takedown, down goes McGregor! He pulls guard though. Oliveira lies on top of McGregor, basically smothering him. Oliveira begins trying to pass guard and get a better position. McGregor can't block the pass, and is left pulling half guard. Oliveira looks to get past the half guard. Oliveira is too skilled for McGregor, passing half guard and gaining side control. There's under a minute left in this round. Oliveira starts trying to work to use side control as a way to get behind McGregor. McGregor is in big trouble as he is forced to give up his back! Oliveira fires away with punches, and McGregor is stung by several big shots. Round two ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

We are back underway! McGregor throws a barrage of big rights but Oliveira is quick to move out of range. McGregor pounds away, Oliveira is barely able to offer any defence at all! The referee pulls McGregor away, stopping the match!</p><p> </p><p>

Tibau gets the arm triangle fully applied! Tibau loses the hold! Somehow Pearson got himself free. That was incredibly close to a finish though. Tibau blocks Pearson as he tries a transition to guard. We move into the second half of this round. Tibau tries to ensnare Pearson in an armbar. Tibau gets an armbar fully applied! No! Pearson manages to get his arm free. Clearly the hold couldn't have been as tight as it looked. Pearson tries to break free and scramble for position, but Tibau keeps him trapped. Pearson doesn't have time to capitalise though, as Tibau recovers his wits quickly. Tibau tries to connect with an up-kick, but it just makes Pearson step back. Tibau wraps Pearson up in half guard after he dived in with an attempted huge right hand. Pearson tries to stand up, but can't get free of half guard. Tibau shrimps his way back to full guard. Pearson tries to get out of guard and stand up, but Tibau doesn't allow it. Tibau secures an arm and tries to ensnare Pearson in a triangle. Pearson defends well against it. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Tibau keeps Pearson, who looked to be trying to stand up, in guard. Tibau tries to lock onto an arm from the bottom of the guard. Tibau uses the threat of a kimura to turn Pearson and get side control. Tibau attempts to roll Pearson slightly and take his back. He can't take the back. Pearson tries to sweep Tibau but can't. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Tibau attempts an arm triangle. Pearson gets caught by the arm triangle! It's deep, but he just won't quit! No! Pearson manages to break free. Clearly the hold couldn't have been as tight as it looked. Pearson tries a sweep from the bottom of side control, but doesn't budge Tibau. Tibau attempts an armbar. Tibau gets an armbar and applies pressure to the arm, Pearson is in huge trouble! No! Pearson manages to get his arm free. Clearly the hold couldn't have been as tight as it looked. Tibau uses head movement to avoid a right jab. A left jab misses, giving Tibau the chance to hit back with a barrage of punches which sting Pearson and cause him to try and cover up! Pearson falls to the ground! Tibau continues to pound away, sensing victory! Pearson is taking a lot of shots, the referee has no option but to leap in and stop the fight!</p><p> </p><p>

Thompson comfortably blocks the attempt and keeps Hathaway in guard. Hathaway deflects a couple of punches that Thompson threw from below. Hathaway unloads with some big right hands, but Thompson deals with them comfortably. Hathaway deflects a couple of punches that Thompson threw from below. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Hathaway smothers Thompson with his body by pushing forward and down. Hathaway starts trying to work to get past the guard. Hathaway starts trying to work to go from side control to mount. He mounts Thompson. Hathaway pounds away with elbows from the mount, but doesn't really do a great deal of damage. Standing his ground, Hathaway looks happy to engage Thompson in the pocket. Thompson circles away, creating some distance between them. Thompson looks to move in and stand in the pocket. Hathaway sees a chance for a takedown attempt, and Thompson, caught by surprise, has to pull guard. Hathaway attempts to pass guard. Hathaway looks shaken! He appears to be on rubbery legs after that last strike! Thompson steps in to capitalise and unleashes a right high kick, but Hathaway is just able to recover and step away in time. Thompson comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Thompson and Hathaway get closer, both looking eager to engage at close range. Hathaway, who is visibly tired, looks like he might want to get in close and wrestle with Thompson. Thompson finds himself pulled into a grappling contest. Using his wrestling skills, Hathaway is trying to push Thompson up against the cage. Hathaway manages it, and controls Thompson up against the cage. John Hathaway seems to be fighting against exhaustion. Hathaway tries to maintain control, but Thompson wrestles his way out of trouble and turns it so that Hathaway ends up backed against the cage. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Thompson hits a knee strike to the thigh. Thompson steps back to achieve some separation from Hathaway and gets ready to strike. They exchange strikes, but neither fighter inflicts any real damage. From the pocket, Thompson advances and traps Hathaway against the cage, unloading with one right hand after another! Hathaway gets knocked down and Thompson keeps up the pressure with punch after punch! With Hathaway taking a lot of big punches, the referee has to stop the match!</p><p> </p><p>

Torres avoids a jab and scores with a series of quick jabs. Kagan throws a couple of jabs, then chooses to shoot in on Torres. Torres sees the takedown coming and tries to move. Torres avoids the takedown attempt. Torres keeps out of range, assessing the situation. Kagan doesn't press the issue, allowing Torres to circle. Emily Kagan is looking really tired. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Torres feints rushing in, but Kagan doesn't fall for it. A drained-looking Kagan tries to close the distance between them. Torres throws a vicious right as a counter, but it misses the target. Torres looks like she wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Kagan. The two fighters move closer, ready to strike. Kagan, who looks drained, comes in looking for a quick double leg takedown from close range. Kagan walks into a big left jab, landing right on the cheek. There's the bell for the start of the round! Both fighters come in and exchange strikes, but neither does any damage. They wind up in a tight clinch. Tecia Torres is breathing very hard. Kagan is trying to muscle Torres up against the cage. Torres ends up backed against the cage. Showing her ability to exert control, Kagan smothers Torres up against the cage for about a minute. Emily Kagan looks very, very tired. Kagan hits Torres, who is pressed up against the cage, with a nice short uppercut. Torres is trapped against the cage and held there, unable to do anything, for about a minute. We pass the halfway mark of this round. The referee thinks there has been too little progress, and brings the two fighters back to the center. Torres bobs and weaves, trying to get Kagan to commit. Both fighters advance and strike, but neither hits anything. In close proximity from the strikes they threw, they fall into a messy clinch. Kagan tries to wrestle Torres backward and up against the cage. Kagan achieves it, pinning Torres to the cage. Emily Kagan looks exhausted. Kagan goes to use some dirty boxing, but Torres is aware of the danger and uses wrestling to prevent any damage from happening. We're into the final minute of the round. Kagan tries some dirty boxing, but Torres wrestles her way out of trouble and manages to turn it around so that Kagan ends up backed against the cage instead. Tecia Torres looks very, very tired. We are underway! Noke catches Koscheck with a flying knee but can't put him off his feet! An exchange of strikes doesn't really lead to anything. Noke backs away to create some more space. Koscheck steps back to avoid a leg kick. Koscheck gets suckered in by a feint, and is lucky to avoid the combination that follows. Koscheck catches a weak right kick to the legs and uses it to go for a takedown, and gets it! Noke has to pull guard. In guard, Koscheck begins working to pass to side control. Koscheck gets past, but Noke stops him at half guard. We move into the second half of this round. Koscheck unloads with some big elbows, but Noke deals with them comfortably. Noke attempts to guillotine Koscheck from the bottom of half guard. Koscheck stops Noke from applying it. Koscheck attempts to arm triangle Noke from the top of half guard. The arm triangle is locked in tight, but Noke refuses to tap out! Koscheck loses the hold! Somehow Noke got himself free. That was incredibly close to a finish though. Noke attempts to guillotine Koscheck from the bottom of half guard. Koscheck defends it well. We're into the final minute of the round. Koscheck looks to get past the half guard. Koscheck isn't able to pass from half guard thanks to the tenacious defence of Noke. Noke tries to ensnare Koscheck in a guillotine. Koscheck defends it well. Round one is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

Incredibly close round, but Noke came out just ahead on my score card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

And here we go, round two! Both fighters throw strikes at the same time, both miss. There's a short stalemate as both fighters advance and throw strikes, but neither hits. Koscheck covers up to absorb a flurry of punches. Using head movement, Koscheck slips past a left jab and counters with a clean punch. Both fighters go to exchange blows, but neither hits a telling strike. Noke throws a left jab but Koscheck uses good head movement to make sure it slips by. Koscheck, standing in the pocket, is close enough to grab a body kick and go for the takedown, getting it! Noke manages to pull guard. Koscheck is trying to pass guard. Noke comfortably blocks the attempt and keeps Koscheck in guard. Noke raises his legs and tries to get Koscheck into a triangle choke. Koscheck shows great skill by twisting out of the triangle attempt and getting side control over Noke. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Koscheck tries to slip behind and take the back. Koscheck isn't able to get behind Noke this time around. Josh Koscheck doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. Noke tries to sweep Koscheck but can't do it. There's under a minute left in this round. Koscheck begins trying to get himself behind Noke. Noke keeps Koscheck from getting behind him. Noke tries to move to guard, but Koscheck doesn't allow it. The time is up, and that's the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Koscheck.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number three begins! Between rounds, his corner told Noke to take it to the ground as early as possible in this round. Both fighters throw strikes, no significant damage is inflicted by either. Noke shoots in, looking for a takedown. Noke can't get past the sprawl of Koscheck, and finds himself pushed face-down to the ground. Koscheck pounds away with punches and Noke is in big trouble! Noke takes a few punches on the way, but manages to get back to standing. Josh Koscheck seems to be fighting against exhaustion. Moving forward, Noke counters a left jab with a nasty-looking kick to the inside of the left knee. A couple of quick punches are used to set up a takedown attempt from Noke. Koscheck stuffs the takedown attempt, but can't do anything about being pushed up against the cage. With the cage trapping Koscheck, Noke looks to try and take him down. Koscheck will not go down, he blocks the takedown despite the best efforts of Noke. Circling out, Koscheck breaks free of Noke and regroups in the center. Kyle Noke doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. We are now at the halfway point of the round. A drained-looking Noke tries to close the distance between them. Koscheck uses movement to keep out reach, meaning Noke cannot get close enough to grapple. Although visibly tired, Noke looks to move in and stand in the pocket. Noke cannot get close enough to the elusive Koscheck. Josh Koscheck looks like he is almost out on his feet with exhaustion. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. A tired-looking Noke approaches, looking for a takedown. Koscheck sees the takedown coming and tries to move. Koscheck avoids the takedown attempt. We reach the time limit and this fight is over.</p><p> </p><p>

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Koscheck.</p><p> </p><p>

Miller sees a body kick coming and hits a solid left. Miller glances a strike off the side of the shoulder. Not letting Miller settle, Wiman moves in closer. Moving in closer, Wiman looks like he wants to strike from the pocket. Miller catches the advancing Wiman by surprise with a takedown. The clock runs down as Wiman is being smothered against the ground by Miller. We move into the second half of this round. Miller is trying to pass guard. Wiman comfortably blocks the attempt and keeps Miller in guard. Wiman raises his legs and tries to get Miller into a triangle choke. Miller shows great skill by twisting out of the triangle attempt and getting side control over Wiman. Miller throws a few right hands to the body. Miller looks to roll Wiman slightly and slip behind. He rolls Wiman over a little...and slips behind to take the back! We're into the final minute of the round. Miller increases his control by getting both hooks in. With both hooks in and therefore great control of the body, Miller tries to finish Wiman off with a rear naked choke. Wiman gets flattened out with the rear naked choke...he is saved by the end of the round though! Time expires and we come to the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

That round goes to Miller, 10-9 on my card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

Round two begins! Wiman counters a left jab by hitting a thudding right hook to the body. Wiman slips out of the way of a jab. Wiman drops his shoulder and fakes going for a single leg, but Miller isn't buying it. Miller counters an attempted body kick by scoring with a solid left. Wiman is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. The two fighters move closer, ready to strike. In the pocket, Wiman tries to get a knock out with a scorching right cross but Miller covers up. Wiman throws an excellent combination but Miller covers up and takes them. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Standing in the pocket, Miller chooses to shoot in for a double leg on Wiman. The takedown is successful, it's a single leg that leaves Wiman pulling guard. Miller starts trying to work to get past the guard. He passes to half guard. Miller attempts to kimura Wiman from the top of half guard. Wiman defends it well. Wiman tries to get full guard on Miller but doesn't get anywhere. We have one minute of the round remaining. Miller is trying to get out of half guard and into a better position. Wiman keeps his half guard secure. Round two ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

Evans gets past the guard with a certain degree of ease and gains side control. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Evans starts hammering away at Johnson with right hands. Johnson is taking lots of shots, and can't seem to find a way out from this position! The referee pulls Evans away, stopping the match!</p><p> </p><p>

Lesnar is looking to muscle Nelson back against the cage. Nelson ends up backed against the cage. Unable to break free, Nelson is smothered up against the cage, taking short blows to the body, for over sixty seconds. Lesnar hits Nelson with a short, sharp right uppercut, wobbling him. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Lesnar tries to use dirty boxing against Nelson, but his opponent's wrestling skills prevent any damage from happening. With the fight having been stuck against the cage for a lengthy period of time, the referee restarts them back in the center. Lesnar comes in closer, looking to wrestle with Nelson. Nelson drops down to try and catch him by surprise with a single leg attempt, but it is blocked. Moving in closer, Lesnar looks like he may want to wrestle Nelson. Nelson moves in too, and they start to grapple. Lesnar throws a few close-range strikes, but Nelson smothers the shots and takes control of the grappling. We have one minute of the round remaining. With control of the clinch, Nelson tries to complete a takedown. The takedown doesn't work, Lesnar defended it well. A whizzer allows Lesnar to execute a sharp turn, creating enough space so that he can pull free of the grappling. The time runs out on round one.</p><p> </p><p>

Showing his ability to exert control, Lesnar smothers Nelson up against the cage for about a minute. Brock Lesnar doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. With the fighters having been stuck against the cage for quite a while, the referee bringing them back to the center. Nelson bobs and weaves. Lesnar seems to be waiting for Nelson to make a move. A visibly tired Lesnar is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Nelson. Nelson is pulled into a grapple. Lesnar looks to get some strikes in, but Nelson seizes the moment and wrestles his way into control of the grapple. Roy Nelson looks like he doesn't have a lot left to give. Nelson looks to get some strikes in, but Lesnar seizes the moment and wrestles his way into control of the grapple. Brock Lesnar seems to be fighting against exhaustion. The grappling doesn't last long, as they soon break away from each other. A straight left from Nelson fails to land. The fight slows as Lesnar sits back and allows Nelson to circle. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Lesnar counters an attempted body kick by scoring with a solid left. A left hand misses, allowing Nelson to counter with a series of quick jabs. Moving forward, Nelson counters a left jab with a flurry of small strikes. There's under a minute left in this round. Moving in closer, a tired-looking Nelson apparently wants to strike from the pocket. Lesnar uses his strikes to stop Nelson from getting too close. Namajunas hops around from foot to foot, looking for an opening. Not letting up, Ansaroff steps in closer to pressure Namajunas into action. Namajunas slips out of the way of a jab. Moving in closer, Namajunas looks like she may want to wrestle Ansaroff. Ansaroff uses movement to keep out reach, meaning Namajunas cannot get close enough to grapple. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Both fighters exchange strikes, but neither hits anything significant. Ansaroff fires off a stinging kick to the left thigh. Those strikes to the legs are going to take their toll. Namajunas shows good head movement to avoid getting caught with a jab. Ansaroff slips past a jab and scores with a left jab to the cheek. Ansaroff tries for a left jab but Namajunas uses head movement to avoid it. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Namajunas shoots in, looking for a close range double leg. A counter right cross is too slow to catch Namajunas. Ansaroff cannot stop the takedown, and has to pull guard. Namajunas is trying to pass guard. She eventually passes, but only into half guard. <strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number two begins! Between rounds, her corner told Ansaroff to try and use counter striking in this round. A flying knee strike from Ansaroff hits Namajunas, momentarily putting her on rubbery legs! Namajunas takes a stiff jab. Both fighters go to exchange blows, but neither hits a telling strike. Namajunas shows good head movement to avoid getting caught with a jab. Ansaroff slips past a big right and hits a kick to the inside of the left thigh. Rose Namajunas is now clearly favouring one leg. Punishing the legs is a great strategy on the part of Ansaroff. Namajunas clearly wants to take this to the ground, and that's a lot harder when your takedowns are hampered by a leg injury. Ansaroff throws a kick to the body but Namajunas dodges it. Working from the pocket, Ansaroff stings Namajunas with a kick to the thigh. Rose Namajunas is limping, she clearly has a damaged leg. Ansaroff scores with an inside leg kick from the pocket. We move into the second half of this round. Namajunas sees a body kick coming, grabs it, shoots in for a takedown, and gets it! Ansaroff pulls guard. In guard, Namajunas begins working to pass to side control. She eventually passes, but only into half guard. In half guard, Namajunas begins working to get side control. Ansaroff can't keep half guard secure and gives up side control. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Namajunas begins trying to get herself behind Ansaroff. Namajunas takes the back, Ansaroff couldn't stop it. Namajunas pounds away with right hands, hitting several big shots. Namajunas gets both hooks in, and is now in a really dominant position. And here we go, round three! Ansaroff counters a left jab by hitting a nasty-looking kick to the inside of the left knee. Rose Namajunas winced as that strike landed. A couple of quick punches are used to set up a takedown attempt from Namajunas. Ansaroff counters with a left jab that catches Namajunas hard. Ansaroff counters a wayward low right kick with a left jab to the cheek. Namajunas looks to move in and stand in the pocket. Ansaroff now has Namajunas standing in the pocket. Namajunas is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Ansaroff. Ansaroff finds herself pulled into a grappling contest. Namajunas tries to take Ansaroff down. The takedown is successful, Ansaroff pulls half guard. Namajunas starts trying to work to get out of half guard and into a better position. She can't get free of half guard. Ansaroff tries to sweep Namajunas but can't do it. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Namajunas attempts to americana Ansaroff from the top of half guard. Ansaroff doesn't allow the americana to be applied. Nina Ansaroff doesn't look like she has much left in the tank. Ansaroff tries to sweep Namajunas but can't do it. They wind up in a tight clinch. Gurgel tries to suck Takabayashi to the ground by wrapping her legs around the waist and pulling guard. Takabayashi cannot prevent it, and is sucked into the guard. Gurgel attempts a guillotine choke from the bottom. Takabayashi pulls her head free before the hold can be applied properly. Takabayashi lies on top of Gurgel, basically smothering her. Takabayashi begins trying to pass the guard. She finds herself unable to pass guard on this attempt. Gurgel raises her legs and tries to get Takabayashi into a triangle choke. Takabayashi pulls free before the triangle can be locked in. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Takabayashi throws a few right hands to the body. There's under a minute left in this round. Takabayashi throws a few weak-looking punches as she decides on her next move. Gurgel works some separation, and Takabayashi ends up standing looking down at her. Takabayashi tries to secure a ground position. Takabayashi dives in, but Gurgel pushes her away and starts to scramble. Time expires and we come to the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

And here we go, round two! It sounded like her corner told Gurgel to attempt to get Takabayashi to the floor in this round. A weak right kick is countered by Takabayashi with a crisp left hand punch. Takabayashi tries for a spinning back fist but Gurgel moves out of range. Gurgel looks like she might be trying to get in close to clinch with Takabayashi. Takabayashi uses her strikes to stop Gurgel from getting close enough to clinch. Gurgel comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Gurgel is in the pocket, ready to attack Takabayashi. From the pocket, Gurgel shoots in for a double leg. Takabayashi not only stops the takedown, she manages to wrestle Gurgel to the floor and take her back. Gurgel prevents herself falling into even more serious trouble, blocking Takabayashi from getting hooks in. Gurgel turtles up with Takabayashi still on top of her. We move into the second half of this round. Takabayashi tries to get the hooks in and lock on a rear naked choke. Gurgel does excellently though, rolling over sharply and ending up on top in guard. Gurgel looks to get past the guard. Takabayashi keeps Gurgel in guard. Takabayashi brings her legs up and tries to lock Gurgel in a triangle choke. Gurgel blocks the attempt. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Takabayashi is controlled against the ground, unable to shift Gurgel off of her. Round two ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

They start grappling, Bagautinov looks happy to engage Martinez at close quarters. Martinez and Bagautinov separate and we're back to a stand-off. Bagautinov counters a left jab with a nice jab. Martinez fakes a lunge. Not letting Martinez settle at all, Bagautinov comes in closer. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Bagautinov uses a nice combination as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. He has the takedown! Martinez pulls guard. Bagautinov looks to pass guard and get side control. He can't find a way past the guard. Martinez tries to ensnare Bagautinov in a triangle. Bagautinov pulls free before the triangle can be locked in. Bagautinov throws a few right hands, but is mainly trying to catch his breath. Bagautinov tries to pass the half guard. Bagautinov struggles but cannot find a way past and remains stuck in half guard. Martinez tries to get full guard on Bagautinov but doesn't get anywhere. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. With no progress being made, the referee stands them back up. Bagautinov uses a nice combination as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. Martinez tries to avoid Bagautinov. Bagautinov can't get the takedown, Martinez was too quick to back away. We move into the second half of this round. Not comfortable in the pocket, Martinez steps back and creates some space. Martinez sneaks a glance at his corner. Not letting Martinez settle at all, Bagautinov comes in closer. Bagautinov steps in, faking as if going for a shot, but Martinez is alive to the deception. There's under a minute left in this round. Martinez circles, looking for an opening. Not letting Martinez settle, Bagautinov moves in closer. Bagautinov throws a combination of rights and lefts, using them as cover so that he can shoot in. The takedown is successful, he almost gets side control but has to settle for half guard. Bagautinov starts trying to work to get out of half guard and into a better position. He can't quite manage to get past half guard on this attempt. The time runs out and that round is over, and so is the fight.</p><p> </p><p>

That was a close round, but I'm giving it to Bagautinov, 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

We are underway! They both meet with strikes, but neither does any damage. Musoke keeps his cool as Cabral throws a feint to the left. Musoke knocks Cabral down with a barrage of big rights! Cabral shakes off the cobwebs quickly though, and is alert. Cabral takes a kick to the legs. Cabral hits Musoke with a vicious up-kick to the shoulder as he moves in to throw a punch. On his back, Cabral can't do much to stop a kick to the leg. Cabral is hit with a sharp kick to the calf. Cabral keeps Musoke back with an up-kick. Musoke steps back and allows Cabral to stand back up. We move into the second half of this round. Cabral circles as he plans his next move. Not letting up, Musoke quickly steps in closer to attack Cabral. Both fighters fire off strikes, but neither does any significant damage. Cabral looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Musoke. Cabral is surprised by a vicious countering right uppercut, but he avoids it at the last second. Advancing, Musoke counters a left jab by using a right body kick. We're into the final minute of the round. Musoke comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Cabral tries to counter with a takedown, but Musoke defended it well. Time expires and we come to the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

I have to give that round to Musoke, but only a 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

And here we go, round two! An exchange of strikes goes nowhere. Both fighters fire off strikes, neither produces any significant damage. Cabral backs away to create some more space. Cabral chooses to shoot in on Musoke. Musoke tries to time a counter right hand, but can't get it. Cabral has the takedown! It's a single leg, and Musoke has to pull guard. Cabral looks to pass guard and get side control. Cabral passes to half guard. Cabral starts trying to work to get out of half guard and into a better position. He can't quite manage to get past half guard on this attempt. Musoke bursts into life and tries to scramble into a better position. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Cabral manages to come out on top, holding Musoke down in turtle position, facing him. Turtled up, Musoke can do nothing about giving up his back. Cabral tries to stretch Musoke out for a rear naked choke. Musoke stops Cabral from getting the hooks in, so the choke cannot be properly applied. Cabral tries to stretch Musoke out for a rear naked choke. Musoke can't fight off the rear naked choke, and once he is flattened out he has to tap!</p><p> </p><p>

And here we go! An exchange of strikes doesn't really lead to anything. In close proximity from the strikes they threw, they fall into a messy clinch. With control of the clinch, Niinimäki tries to complete a takedown. The takedown is completed, Gamburyan is on his back and pulls guard. Niinimäki starts trying to work to get past the guard. Gamburyan is ready for the attempt though, and keeps Niinimäki firmly in guard. Gamburyan secures an arm and tries to ensnare Niinimäki in a triangle. Niinimäki blocks the triangle attempt. Gamburyan is controlled against the ground, unable to shift Niinimäki off of him. We move into the second half of this round. Niinimäki throws a few right hands to the body. Niinimäki smothers Gamburyan with his body by pushing forward and down. Niinimäki punches down at Gamburyan, but they are easily taken on the gloves. Gamburyan attempts to guillotine Niinimäki from the bottom of the guard. Niinimäki defends it well. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Round two begins! From what we could hear of his corner, it sounds like Gamburyan has been instructed to try and get Niinimäki to the floor in this round. Niinimäki throws a feint. Gamburyan feints left and tries to get Niinimäki to commit to a strike, but gets no joy. A nicely executed one-two combination sets up a takedown attempt from Niinimäki. The takedown is blocked, and the sprawl allows Gamburyan to wrestle Niinimäki down to the ground instead! Niinimäki pulls guard. Gamburyan fires off a few punches as he catches his breath. Gamburyan attempts to pass guard. Niinimäki keeps Gamburyan in guard. Niinimäki attempts a triangle choke on Gamburyan from the bottom of the guard. Gamburyan defends well against it. We go past the halfway point of this round. Time slips away as Gamburyan successfully keeps Niinimäki stuck against the ground. The lengthy period of stalemate results in the referee standing them both back up. Gamburyan chooses to shoot in on Niinimäki. The takedown is blocked, and the sprawl allows Gamburyan to wrestle Niinimäki down to the ground instead! Gamburyan takes his back in the process! Gamburyan gets both hooks in, and is now in a really dominant position. Gamburyan, with both hooks fully in, tries to get the rear naked choke applied. Niinimäki doesn't allow the arm to go under his chin. Gamburyan maintains his hooks, despite Niinimäki trying to break them. With both hooks in and therefore great control of the body, Gamburyan tries to finish Niinimäki off with a rear naked choke. Niinimäki doesn't allow the arm to go under his chin. Niinimäki struggles against Gamburyan but cannot get himself free from the hooks. Tom Niinimäki is looking really tired. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. With both hooks in and therefore great control of the body, Gamburyan tries to finish Niinimäki off with a rear naked choke. In close proximity from the strikes they threw, they fall into a messy clinch. Khalidov looks to scoop his opponent up for a slam. Rockhold defends it well and slips away from his opponent. Rockhold looks to move in and stand in the pocket. Rockhold moves into the pocket. Rockhold dodges a jab, and fires back with a kick to the outside of the knee. There's only so many of those strikes to the legs that can be taken before they become an issue. A right jab misses, giving Khalidov the chance to hit back with a solid right hook to the body. Khalidov uses head movement to dodge a jab, and counters with a big right that knocks Rockhold to the ground! Without hesitation, Khalidov mounts his stunned opponent! We move into the second half of this round. Khalidov fires away with punches, and Rockhold is taking powerful shot after powerful shot! With Rockhold taking a beating, the referee has to stop the match!</p><p> </p><p>

Thomson waits for Maynard to throw an elbow, then uses wrestling to turn him around so that Maynard now has his back to the cage. With the cage trapping Maynard, Thomson gets the underhooks in and looks for a takedown. Maynard digs in and manages to defend the takedown. Maynard uses a whizzer to half turn Thomson, creating enough space for him to break away from the grapple and return to the center. We go past the halfway point of this round. Maynard looks to be trying to close the distance between them. He pulls Thomson into a grapple. Maynard is looking to muscle Thomson back against the cage. Thomson ends up backed against the cage. Maynard tries to throw an elbow, but Thomson takes the opportunity to turn his opponent around so that Maynard ends up backed against the cage instead. Thomson looks for a foot stomp but Maynard takes the opportunity to turn them around so that he is in the dominant position. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Maynard tries some dirty boxing, but Thomson wrestles his way out of trouble and manages to turn it around so that Maynard ends up backed against the cage instead. Thomson attempts to establish some dominance with his wrestling, but Maynard is too hard to keep controlled against the cage. Maynard tries to slip on a guillotine choke, but can't quite hook it. With Maynard stuck against the cage, Thomson gets the underhooks and looks for a takedown. Thomson can't get the takedown, as Maynard wrestles his way into a dominant position. Time expires and we come to the end of round one. There are some audible boos from the crowd, that wasn't the most exciting round we've ever seen.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Maynard.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number two begins! Thomson steps back to avoid a left jab. Moving in closer, Maynard looks like he may want to wrestle Thomson. Not wanting to grapple, Thomson uses strikes to keep Maynard at a distance. A nicely executed one-two combination sets up a takedown attempt from Thomson. Maynard tries to step away from the takedown. Thomson doesn't get the takedown, Maynard avoided it. Thomson darts in and out of range quickly, trying to get Maynard to commit to throwing a strike. Maynard looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Thomson. Maynard grapples with Thomson, who made no attempt to escape. Thomson has gotten underhooks in and is looking to take Maynard to the ground. The takedown is unsuccessful, Maynard blocked Thomson. Maynard turns Thomson slightly, creating enough space so that he can break free of the grapple. We move into the second half of this round. Maynard looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Thomson. Thomson is pulled into a grapple. Maynard is looking to muscle Thomson back against the cage. Thomson ends up backed against the cage. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Maynard tries to press him up against the cage, but finds it hard to keep any sort of real control. Thomson manages to slap on a standing guillotine choke, and takes Maynard down with it! Gray Maynard doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. Thomson gets a guillotine but cannot get Maynard to tap out! It looks like Maynard must have been able to stop the choke from being fully sunk in. Thomson releases the hold, perhaps having gassed his arms by squeezing for too long. Round two ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

That was the sort of round that MMA fans love; full of action, effort and drama. Great stuff.</p><p> </p><p>

Maynard steps in but an exchange of strikes goes nowhere. Not letting up, Thomson quickly steps in closer to attack Maynard. Josh Thomson looks very tired out there. Gray Maynard seems to be fighting against exhaustion. Thomson throws a couple of ragged-looking jabs as a set up, then attempts a takedown. Maynard tries to avoid the takedown. The takedown doesn't work, Maynard saw it coming and got out of range. A speculative right hand from Thomson doesn't find a home. It seems that Maynard is happy to let Thomson circle for the moment. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Maynard narrowly misses Thomson with a right uppercut. Thomson quickly gets in closer, looking to attack. Thomson throws a couple of jabs, a set up for a tired-looking takedown attempt on Maynard. Thomson can't get the takedown, Maynard defended it well. Josh Thomson seems to be fighting against exhaustion. Time expires and we come to the end of round three.</p><p> </p><p>

That was a very close round, but I think Maynard just about edged it.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 4</strong></p><p>

Round four begins! Maynard counters a leg kick by grabbing it and attempting a takedown, but Thomson is able to stuff it. A visibly tired Maynard is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Thomson. Thomson moves in too, and they start to grapple. Thomson is looking to muscle Maynard back against the cage. Maynard doesn't let himself be driven back though, and gains a dominant position in the grapple instead. The gas tank looks empty on Gray Maynard. Using his wrestling skills, Maynard is trying to push Thomson up against the cage. Thomson ends up backed against the cage. Maynard looks to try and maintain control via his wrestling skills, but Thomson fights it every inch of the way. Maynard tries to throw an elbow, but Thomson takes the opportunity to turn his opponent around so that Maynard ends up backed against the cage instead. Josh Thomson looks exhausted. Thomson smothers Maynard against the cage, then hits him with an elbow strike to the side of the head. Thomson pins Maynard up against the cage and hits a couple of nice right hands to the side of the head. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Thomson uses dirty boxing to punish Maynard while he is pressed up against the cage. Thomson goes to use some dirty boxing, but Maynard is aware of the danger and uses wrestling to prevent any damage from happening. Maynard struggles back against Thomson, not allowing him to control the grappling. Maynard tries to slip on a guillotine choke, but can't quite hook it. Having been stuck against the cage for a while without any progress, the referee brings them back to the center. Maynard throws a looping punch, but Thomson avoids it. Not letting Maynard settle, Thomson moves in closer. We have one minute of the round remaining. A visibly tired Thomson is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Maynard. Maynard is pulled into a grapple. Thomson is looking to muscle Maynard back against the cage. Thomson can't do it though, and Maynard gets a more dominant position in the grapple instead. Maynard is looking to get Thomson in a Muay Thai clinch. Maynard achieves it, Thomson could not fight out of it. The time runs out on round four.</p><p> </p><p>

A flurry of punches fail to land, giving Thomson the opportunity to counter with a kick to the inside of the left thigh. A weak right kick is countered by Maynard with a barrage of hard punches! Thomson steps back just in time to avoid a wild swing. Maynard sees a leg kick coming but strikes first with an enormous right hook that knocks Thomson out and sees him fall face-first to the ground!</p><p> </p><p>

And here we go! McDaniel steps back to avoid a kick to the body. McDaniel throws a leg kick but Te Huna avoids it. McDaniel comes in, looking for a quick takedown. Te Huna sprawls, stopping the takedown and forcing McDaniel down to the ground into a type of turtle position. McDaniel cannot stop himself being rolled and secured in side control. Te Huna stands up and backs off, letting McDaniel stand up as well. A showdown where they both exchange strikes only results in a stalemate. McDaniel steps back to avoid a left jab. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Moving forward, Te Huna counters a left jab with a barrage of big right hands, forcing McDaniel back! Te Huna throws a leg kick but McDaniel checks it easily. Te Huna sees an inside leg kick coming and hits first with a right body kick. Using good head movement, Te Huna slips past a tight combination and hits a sharp kick to the shin. An exchange of strikes doesn't really lead to anything. From the missed strikes they clinch. McDaniel attempts to wrestle Te Huna to the ground. The takedown is successful, Te Huna pulls guard. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. McDaniel throws some small strikes, but is clearly just taking a moment to try and catch his breath. Using his leg strength to push McDaniel back a bit, Te Huna looks to scramble for position. The scramble results in Te Huna being on his back pulling guard. Round one is brought to an end as time runs out. That was a good round, full of action, hopefully we've got more of the same to come.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Te Huna.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! Between rounds, his corner told McDaniel to take it to the ground as early as possible in this round. Both fighters advance and strike, but neither hits anything. McDaniel comes in, looking for a quick takedown. Te Huna sprawls well, and McDaniel is forced down to his knees, almost turtled up. Te Huna looks to unload with some big right hands, but McDaniel gets back to his feet before too many land. Te Huna looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with McDaniel. The two fighters move closer, ready to strike. McDaniel looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Te Huna. Te Huna ends up grappling for supremacy with McDaniel. McDaniel is looking to muscle Te Huna back against the cage. McDaniel does it, Te Huna is stuck with his back to the cage. With Te Huna stuck against the cage, McDaniel tries to complete a takedown. Te Huna, pressed up against the cage, cannot stop the takedown. Te Huna winds up seated, his back to the cage, with McDaniel pressing onto him. Bubba McDaniel looks very tired out there. Not liking his options, McDaniel looks to get a better position over Te Huna. Te Huna doesn't let McDaniel get the mount. McDaniel blocks an attempted sweep. James Te Huna looks very tired out there. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. McDaniel looks to get a more dominant position by pushing Te Huna from a seated position onto his back. McDaniel isn't able to mount Te Huna this time around. McDaniel blocks an attempted sweep. McDaniel tries to put Te Huna into a guillotine choke. Te Huna gets caught by the guillotine, and it's tight enough that he has to tap!</p><p> </p><p>

Round one begins! Scoggins avoids a barrage of punches and hits a jab. Cariaso feints to the right, trying to draw Scoggins into throwing a strike. A left jab misses and Cariaso counters with a scything low kick to the legs. A jab misses, allowing Cariaso to counter-strike with a flurry of small strikes. Cariaso slips past a left jab and fires back with a flurry of quick punches. Scoggins avoids several big left hands and counters with a left jab to the cheek. We go past the halfway point of this round. Scoggins throws a feint. Cariaso is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Scoggins. He pulls Scoggins into a grapple. Cariaso and Scoggins separate and we're back to a stand-off. An attempted body kick misses, giving Scoggins the opportunity to counter with a vicious push kick, connecting hard enough to put Cariaso down! Scoggins doesn't have time to capitalise though, as Cariaso recovers his wits quickly. Scoggins hovers, wary of up-kicks, then darts in to hit a right hand before retreating again. There's under a minute left in this round. Scoggins kicks Cariaso to the thigh. Cariaso hits Scoggins with a vicious up-kick to the shoulder as he moves in to throw a punch. Apparently unwilling to engage, Scoggins lets his opponent stand back up. Round one ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

I think Scoggins took that round, 10-9 on my score card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

Round two begins! Scoggins moves away from a left high kick and counters with a wild spinning back kick, knocking Cariaso down! Scoggins doesn't have time to capitalise though, as Cariaso recovers his wits quickly. Cariaso pulls Scoggins down into guard after he threw a wild bomb that didn't connect. Scoggins throws a few strikes, but they are without venom. Scoggins pounds away with right hands, but doesn't do much damage, if any, Cariaso is comfortable holding guard. Cariaso attempts a triangle choke on Scoggins from the bottom of the guard. Scoggins defends well against it. Scoggins keeps Cariaso guessing with a few quick strikes. Scoggins feels Cariaso prepare to scramble for position and makes sure it doesn't happen. Scoggins attempts to pass guard and gain a better position. Cariaso keeps his guard secure. Scoggins gets pushed back thanks to a butterfly guard, and stands, looking down at Cariaso who remains on his back. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Cariaso gets caught with a right hand from Scoggins, who remains standing, hovering over his opponent. Scoggins hovers, wary of up-kicks, then darts in to hit a right hand before retreating again. Scoggins throws a big punch, but it isn't on target and Cariaso pulls him into guard. There's under a minute left in this round. Scoggins looks to get past the guard. He can't find a way past the guard. Scoggins blocks Cariaso as he tries a sweep from the guard. The time is up, and that's the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>

Scoggins moves away from a left high kick and counters with a right high kick that catches Cariaso on the side of the head, knocking him out cold!</p><p> </p><p>

And here we go! Both fighters fire off strikes, but neither does any significant damage. An exchange of strikes doesn't lead to any real damage. Indich backs away from Silva, creating some space between them. Indich feints stepping in. Silva comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Silva cannot get close enough to the elusive Indich. Indich circles, looking for an opening. Not letting Indich settle at all, Silva comes in closer. Silva is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. Indich now has Silva standing in the pocket. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Silva looks to be trying to close the distance between them. He pulls Indich into a grapple. Silva looks for a trip takedown. The takedown doesn't work, Indich defended it well. Indich tries to uses a whizzer to turn Silva, but is blocked from doing so. Silva hits Indich with some short strikes to the side of the head while grappling. Silva looks for a trip takedown. The takedown is completed, Indich is on his back and pulls guard. We have one minute of the round remaining. Silva throws a few right hands to the body. In close proximity from the strikes they threw, they fall into a messy clinch. Indich tries to wrestle Silva backward and up against the cage. Silva ends up backed against the cage. Silva gets caught with a knee to the inside of the thigh. Indich tries to keep him pressed up against the cage with wrestling, but Silva isn't allowing it. Silva catches an unsuspecting Indich in a standing guillotine! Indich can't escape the guillotine, it's tight enough that he has to tap!</p><p> </p><p>

Lombard goes to the body and then to the head with a tidy combination to get Akiyama to cover up, then shoots in. The takedown is completed, it was a single leg and Akiyama is left on his back pulling guard. Looking to catch his breath, Lombard is content to just throw a couple of punches to the body. Akiyama attempts to secure an arm. Lombard blocks it. Lombard fires away with big punches, but Akiyama keeps the guard secure and doesn't take any undue damage. Akiyama tries to ensnare an arm. Lombard doesn't let his arm get taken. We move into the second half of this round. Lombard attempts to pass guard and gain a better position. He finds himself unable to pass guard on this attempt. Akiyama attempts a triangle choke on Lombard from the bottom of the guard. Lombard defends well against it. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Lombard starts trying to work to get past the guard. Lombard isn't able to pass guard on this attempt. Akiyama manages to scoot them both backward until they are against the cage. Using the cage, Akiyama walks up, but cannot break the control of Lombard. The time is up, and that's the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

There's the bell and round number two begins! Akiyama slips past a left jab and fires back with a clean jab. Akiyama throws a feint. Akiyama slips out of the way of a leg kick, having been suckered in with a feint. A speculative right hand from Akiyama doesn't find a home. Not letting up, Lombard steps in closer to pressure Akiyama into action. Lombard is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Akiyama. Lombard grapples with Akiyama, who made no attempt to escape. Akiyama is looking to muscle Lombard back against the cage. Akiyama can't move Lombard at all though, and finds himself being out-wrestled. With Akiyama in his grasp, Lombard tries to set up a judo-style throw. He executes an outside leg trip, sweeping Akiyama to the mat where he pulls guard! Lombard tries to pass the guard. He finds himself unable to pass guard on this attempt. Akiyama gets the double underhooks in and pulls Lombard close, controlling him well. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Lombard is trying to pass guard. Lombard isn't able to pass guard on this attempt. Lombard blocks Akiyama as he tries to get enough separation to scramble up. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Lombard begins trying to pass guard and get a better position. Akiyama comfortably blocks the attempt and keeps Lombard in guard. The time runs out on round two.</p><p> </p><p>

Lombard doesn't have time to capitalise though, as Akiyama recovers his wits quickly. Apparently unwilling to engage, Lombard lets his opponent stand back up. Akiyama counters a tight combination by hitting a kick to the side of the ribs. Akiyama uses a smart combination to get Lombard to cover up, then shoots in looking for a takedown. Akiyama goes under an attempted counter right hand. The takedown is successful, Lombard couldn't quite stay on his feet. Lombard is left seated, with his back to the cage, with Akiyama holding him down. Akiyama pounds away, but is unable to land many clean shots on Lombard. Akiyama starts trying to get Lombard on his back so that he can gain a better position. He is much too good for Lombard, and gets the mount! Akiyama pounds away with punches from the mount, but doesn't really do a great deal of damage. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Akiyama pounds away on Lombard, but few of the shots lands clean. Breathing very hard, Yoshihiro Akiyama is looking ragged. Akiyama fires away with big punches, but Lombard covers up and doesn't take any undue damage. Akiyama blocks Lombard as he tries a sweep. Akiyama fires away with big punches, but Lombard covers up and doesn't take any undue damage. Lombard tries a sweep from the bottom of the mount, but doesn't budge Akiyama. Hector Lombard is breathing very hard. Akiyama unloads with some big punches, but Lombard deals with them comfortably. Lombard tries to sweep Akiyama out of mount but can't do it. We're into the final minute of the round. Akiyama pounds away from the mount, but Lombard covers up and defends them well. Yoshihiro Akiyama looks very, very tired. Lombard tries to move Akiyama out of mount but can't. The time runs out and that round is over, and so is the fight.</p><p> </p><p>

The fight begins! Tate moves in quickly after a wayward punch and hits a hard leg kick. Advancing, Tate counters a left jab by using a hard push kick to the chest. McMann comes in closer, looking to wrestle with Tate. Tate moves in too, and they start to grapple. Using her wrestling skills, McMann is trying to push Tate up against the cage. She does so, and now has Tate pinned to the cage. Showing her ability to exert control, McMann smothers Tate up against the cage for about thirty seconds, wearing her down with occasional sharp punches to the ribs. McMann tries to use some elbows from the clinch, but Tate is able to stop them. We go past the halfway point of this round. McMann tries to smother Tate against the cage with wrestling, but she reverses it and pushes McMann against the cage instead. Tate shows great control, keeping McMann pressed against the cage while punishing her with sharp strikes to the body for roughly a minute. Having been stuck against the cage for a while without any progress, the referee brings them back to the center. We have one minute of the round remaining. A straight left by McMann keeps Tate from advancing. Tate presses in closer to attack. Tate comes in, looking for a quick takedown. Tate doesn't get the takedown, McMann was equal to it and pulls them into a clinch. McMann tries to wrestle Tate backward and up against the cage. She does so, and now has Tate pinned to the cage. Time expires and we come to the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

Incredibly close round, but Tate came out just ahead on my score card.</p><p> </p><p>

Round two begins! McMann avoids a jab. McMann looks to be trying to close the distance between them. McMann grapples with Tate, who made no attempt to escape. McMann is trying to push Tate so that her back is up against the cage. Tate ends up backed against the cage. McMann smothers Tate up against the cage, keeping her stuck there for thirty seconds. McMann launches an elbow strike but Tate is ready and uses some wrestling to turn around so that McMann is the one against the cage. With the cage trapping McMann, Tate gets the underhooks in and looks for a takedown. Tate gets the takedown by using the underhooks for control and working a trip! McMann pulls guard. Tate looks to pass guard and get side control. Tate is too much for McMann, passing guard and gaining side control. Miesha Tate is looking really tired. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. In side control, Tate catches her breath, content just to throw a couple of punches to the body. McMann uses an underhook to work some separation, then quickly scrambles. McMann manages to come out on top, with Tate pulling guard. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. McMann fires off a handful of punches, each easily being blocked with gloves. McMann tries to stand up, but can't get free of the guard. Tate tries to catch McMann with a punch, but it is not on target. McMann stands up and backs off, letting Tate stand up as well. The time is up, and that's the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

An exchange of strikes doesn't lead to any real damage. McMann looks like she might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Tate. Tate moves in too, and they start to grapple. Using her wrestling skills, McMann is trying to push Tate up against the cage. McMann achieves it, pinning Tate to the cage. Sara McMann looks very tired out there. Miesha Tate seems to be fighting against exhaustion. Unable to get free, Tate is smothered up against the cage for about sixty seconds. McMann tries to maintain control, but Tate wrestles her way out of trouble and turns it so that McMann ends up backed against the cage. We go past the halfway point of this round. With the cage trapping McMann, Tate gets the underhooks in and looks for a takedown. McMann will not go down, she blocks the takedown despite the best efforts of Tate. Circling out, McMann breaks free of Tate and regroups in the center. Sara McMann looks very, very tired. Slowly moving in closer, a ragged-looking McMann wants to wrestle Tate. Tate fires off a strike first, but it just misses. Miesha Tate looks exhausted. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Despite being tired, McMann looks like she wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Tate. McMann moves into the pocket. Slowly moving in closer, a ragged-looking McMann wants to wrestle Tate. Tate seems happy to grapple with McMann. Tate smothers McMann when she tries to use some dirty boxing, and gains the upper hand in the grapple as a result. The time is up, and that's the end of round three. That was a bit of a snoozer, hopefully the next round brings a little more action.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 4</strong></p><p>

And here we go, round four! A leg kick misses badly, giving McMann an opening to score with a clean left. Tate avoids a jab and scores with two hard right hands! Using head movement to slip past a left jab, Tate hits a kick to the inside of the left thigh. Standing in the pocket, Tate throws an inside leg kick but McMann shows good footwork to avoid it. Not comfortable in the pocket, Tate steps back and creates some space. A tired-looking McMann approaches, looking for a takedown. McMann can't complete the takedown, and has to settle for pushing Tate up against the cage. McMann has gotten underhooks in and is looking to take Tate to the ground. McMann gets the takedown by using the underhooks for control and working a trip! Tate pulls half guard. McMann attempts to pass half guard and gain a better position. Getting her leg free with ease, she gets to side control. Sara McMann looks like she is almost out on her feet with exhaustion. We pass the halfway mark of this round. McMann tries to slip behind and take the back. She shows excellent control to move Tate over and take her back. McMann increases her control by getting both hooks in. McMann, with both hooks fully in, tries to get the rear naked choke applied. Tate fights off the rear naked choke attempt. With both hooks in and therefore great control of the body, McMann tries to finish Tate off with a rear naked choke. Tate defends herself well against the choke. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. McMann, with both hooks in, attempts to get a rear naked choke fully applied. Tate fights off the rear naked choke attempt. Tate struggles against McMann but cannot get herself free from the hooks. The time is up, and that's the end of round four.</p><p> </p><p>

That was a quality round and the fans are really getting into this.</p><p> </p><p>

We are back underway! McMann scores with a jab. Tate, looking very tired, has let her hands drop dangerously low, that's why she got caught. McMann throws a wild and sloppy right hand as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. The takedown doesn't work, Tate stuffed it. A drained-looking McMann tries to close the distance between them. Tate ends up grappling for supremacy with McMann. With underhooks giving her solid control over Tate, McMann looks for a takedown. McMann gets the takedown by using the underhooks for control and working a trip! Tate pulls guard. McMann throws a few right hands to the body. Tate grabs an arm and raises her legs, trying to lock McMann into a triangle choke. McMann blocks the attempt. McMann starts trying to work to get past the guard. Tate comfortably blocks the attempt and keeps McMann in guard. Tate reaches up and tries to lock McMann in a guillotine. The choke is applied, McMann has no option but to tap out!</p><p> </p><p>

And here we go! Herrig catches Ansaroff with a flurry of small strikes. A jab doesn't find its intended target, allowing Ansaroff to fire back with a crisp jab. A left jab misses and Herrig strikes back with a left. Herrig feints going high, but Ansaroff doesn't buy it. Ansaroff slips out of the way of a leg kick. Ansaroff hops around from foot to foot, looking for an opening. Herrig comes in closer to press the issue. We move into the second half of this round. Herrig tries for a leg kick but Ansaroff moves out of range. Ansaroff comes in closer, looking to wrestle with Herrig. Herrig is pulled into a grapple. Using her wrestling skills, Ansaroff is trying to push Herrig up against the cage. Ansaroff manages it, and controls Herrig up against the cage. Ansaroff pins Herrig up against the cage and hits a couple of nice right hands to the side of the head. Ansaroff goes to use some dirty boxing, but Herrig is aware of the danger and uses wrestling to prevent any damage from happening. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Herrig uses her wrestling skills to prevent Ansaroff from throwing any elbow strikes. Herrig goes to the ribs, then the head, with short punches. Ansaroff breaks the grapple and prepares to launch some strikes at Herrig. Herrig uses head movement to cause a left jab to sail harmlessly by. Round one ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

We are back underway! Herrig moves in and uses a flurry of quick punches to sting Ansaroff. A series of big punches land and knock Ansaroff down! Herrig starts pounding away on Ansaroff, looking to finish her off! Herrig can't put Ansaroff away, and gets sucked into half guard. Herrig pounds away with elbows from half guard, but doesn't really do a great deal of damage. Ansaroff tries a sweep from the bottom of half guard, but doesn't budge Herrig. In half guard, Herrig catches her breath, content just to throw a couple of punches to the body. Herrig pounds away with elbow strikes on Ansaroff, but few of the shots lands clean. Ansaroff tries to sweep Herrig but doesn't get anywhere. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Herrig throws a few strikes, but they are without venom. The lack of progress forces the referee to stand the fighters back up. Herrig sneaks a glance at her corner. The fight slows as Ansaroff sits back and allows Herrig to circle. Nina Ansaroff looks very tired out there. There's under a minute left in this round. Herrig is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. Seeing an opportunity, Ansaroff goes straight for a takedown, but Herrig is equal to it. Round two ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

A jab doesn't find its intended target, allowing Takabayashi to fire back with a clean left. Takabayashi glances a strike off the side of the shoulder. Daly comes in closer to press the issue. Daly chooses to shoot in on Takabayashi. Takabayashi stuffs the takedown, but gets pushed up against the cage instead. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Daly uses underhooks to gain solid control, and is looking for a takedown. Daly doesn't get the takedown, Takabayashi instead wrestles her way into controlling the grapple. Takabayashi launches an elbow strike but Daly is ready and uses some wrestling to turn around so that Takabayashi is the one against the cage. Takabayashi circles away, creating some distance between them. Round one ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

Round two begins! Daly counters a left jab with a solid left jab. Daly slips out of the way of a combination of short sharp punches. Takabayashi comes in closer, looking to wrestle with Daly. Takabayashi is forced to use her gloves to deflect a sudden counter right. Daly throws out a couple of jabs as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. She has the takedown! It's a single leg, and Takabayashi has to pull guard. Daly looks to pass guard and get side control. Daly gets past, but Takabayashi stops her at half guard. Daly begins trying to get her leg free of half guard and get a better position. Takabayashi doesn't let Daly get her leg free, and so half guard remains in place. Takabayashi tries to ensnare Daly in a guillotine. Daly defends it well. We go past the halfway point of this round. Daly reaches over and tries to lock Takabayashi in a kimura. Takabayashi defends it well. Takabayashi attempts to guillotine Daly from the bottom of half guard. Takabayashi gets a guillotine but cannot get Daly to tap out! Daly must have managed to stop the choke being properly applied. Takabayashi releases the hold, perhaps having gassed her arms by squeezing for too long. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Daly attempts to pass guard. Daly isn't able to pass guard on this attempt. Time expires and we come to the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>
