Wwe 1996-2004

Recommended Posts

I'm playing "The War begins" 1996 mod.

I've been playing this game a bit already but Iruleall15 recommended that I turn this into a dynasty write up. I figure I'll give it a try just because I feel like I'm monopolizing the discussion over there and I don't want to wear out my welcome :p

So far my game has run for 7 years, 8 months and I've held 999 shows. My 1000th show is going to be an episode of Velocity... which is slightly underwhelming.

Above are my top draws and the stars with the most momentum. Hogan jumped ship to the WWE several months ago after WCW went slightly downhill. How bad is it getting over there you ask?

http://i.imgur.com/ZkKu6BM.png

Yeah... the golden days are definitely behind them. Its to the point where the Intercontinental championship is more prestigious than the WCW World Championship.

I have other titles of course but these are the ones with the big storylines behind them.

My pay per views have recently been split between Raw and Smackdown in hopes of giving everyone a better chance to shine. The midcard of course gets a better focus if my three hour show isn't booked solid with main eventers.

Next up, the build up to Royal Rumble!

(also feel free to ask any questions, this game has been running for almost eight years so things have developed interestingly)

<p>Royal Rumble 2004 (not the entire card but the matches with the most build behind them)</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/7GLz4EB.png</span></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Royal Rumble Match</strong></p><p>

30 Men enter, one leaves with a World title match of his choosing at Wrestlemania. Triple H enters the Rumble looking to win and use his victory as a chance to return to WWE's "A Show". Steve Austin has won four Royal Rumble matches and has walked out of Wrestlemania as the World champion four times as well. Edge looks to prove himself and use the Royal Rumble to catapult himself into the main event scene for good. William Regal meanwhile has done whatever he can to keep himself atop the Smackdown throne with the help of Excalibur (Drew Mcintyre and Hade Vansen). These men are the favourites to walk out with a Rumble win but anything can happen in the WWE.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Eddie Guerrero Vs Raven, Intercontinental Championship Match</strong></p><p>

The Flock has turned away many threats to their domination of the Smackdown scene. Sting attempted to tear the group down but instead failed in his attempt to take Raven's Intercontinental Championship. However if there's a man capable of taking the title from under his nosem its Eddie. Incredibly skilled in the ring and looking to make a name for himself the Latino superstar is looking to walk out of Royal Rumble with the Intercontinental championship around his waist.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><strong>

Kurt Angle Vs Chris Benoit, WWE Undisputed Championship Match</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Coming back three weeks following a dislocated hip injury. Kurt Angle surprised critics as he retained his championship in an elimination chamber match against six other competitors. The champion seems to be on a hot streak as he faces off against "The Rabid Wolverine" who looks to put him back on the shelf.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Chris Jericho Vs Christian, WWE Heavyweight Championship Match</strong></p><p>

The last two months have seen a drastic change in Christian as the newly styled "Captain Charisma" celebrated a hard won victory over his brother Edge by cutting his hair and playing to the crowd, seemingly unaware of the boos he receives. He recently defeated The Undertaker in a very personal conflict as he trashed his bike and held a funeral for the career of a "washed up biker". With the help of his new ally Rhyno, he buried Taker alive (Taker has not been seen since).</p><p> </p><p>

In contrast is the current World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho who seems to be everything that Christian wishes to be. A fan favourite with boundless charisma and great success in the ring as he's captured six World titles in the WWE. The two are on a collsion course headed into Royal Rumble and its anyone's guess who will walk out victorious.</p>

I'm assuming you want predictions... If not... tough!!! :)

Royal Rumble Match - WILLIAM REGAL

Going to go with Regal... Love that he's among your top guys (since I'm British). Not seen much of Hade Vanson, but from what I have seen, I thought he was a decent worker

Eddie Guerrero Vs Raven, Intercontinental Championship Match

I was a huge Eddie fan, and not a huge Raven fan. Simple as that

Kurt Angle Vs Chris Benoit, WWE Undisputed Championship Match

He won the Chamber, and he can win this and go to 'Mania to face Regal :D #Money

Chris Jericho Vs Christian, WWE Heavyweight Championship Match

I think Jericho's better to be honest. Not that Christian's not great. I would like to see a Jericho, Christian, Edge trip-threat someday :)

Love what I've seen so far man, and 999 episodes is definitely commitment!! Since you're so far into your game, can we have a roster update? Who have you got working for you? Tag Teams? Stables?

On a side note, and I'm sure I'm not alone in this... Val Venis and Stephanie McMahon-Venis... just YES!
:D

<p><span>http://i.imgur.com/LJSbOdL.png</span></p><p> </p><p>

Finally did it! I moved velocity to Friday so my 1000th show wouldn't feature a main event of Mark Henry Vs Rhyno. Raw is now officially my 1000th show! Yes!</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/TLWUPxO.png</span></p><p> </p><p>

That said, things backstage were a little dicey. Come on Austin, attacking Teddy? That's incredibly assholish.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://www.wwe.com/f/wysiwyg/image/2012/04/mmmmmm%201.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Look what you did Austin! This is the last straw... giving him a slap on the wrist.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/aJzppQF.png</span></p><p> </p><p>

Now I don't mean to brag but the tag team "Size Matters" consists of Big Show and Val Venis. I'm pretty proud of that.</p><p> </p><p>

After looking at WCW's world champion I got a little curious and decided to check out ECW to see how they're doing since I haven't looked in probably a year, game time.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/ki6dSLf.png</span></p><p> </p><p>

E-C-Dub! E-C-Dub! E-C.... oh who am I kidding.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/5oe3oaK.png</span></p><p> </p><p>

Up next, I'll listen to the Lloyd and post a roster update as well as tag teams. Also, for the record, I love predictions <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

<p><span>http://i.imgur.com/2sXGK8G.png</span></p><p> </p><p>

The Rumble seems to be heating up as everyone makes claims as to their intention to win. Kane however seems to have taken his eye off the ball as he takes the opportunity to tear the immortal one apart. Batista also returns in his first appearance in seven months since he was accidentally released when we failed to notice his contract was expiring.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/wpM0qmA.png</span></p><p>

....I suppose in this alternate reality the luchagors will have a brass section.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/aPynCA8.png</span></p><p> </p><p>

Excalibur starts to involve themselves in the battle between the Hardys and The Flock. Potentially building to a triple threat match between the teams.</p><p> </p><p>

Noooooo!</p>

<p>The big developments of the week before the pay per view are that both Hulk Hogan and Kane withdraw themselves from the Rumble and instead decide to have a one on one match.</p><p> </p><p>

Vince McMahon announces the main event of Smackdown will be a fatal four way match between Booker T, Triple H, Edge and Randy Savage with the winner getting the #30 spot in the rumble. Triple H is victorious. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

LOL!! Loving this my friend, on to a winner here!! Crazy that Owen and Bret are still around! :D No screwjob in your reality I'm assuming? :D Also... push D'Lo Brown!!!

In my reality the screwjob was more of a storyline so that I could let Bret go to WCW and free up the main event for guys like Austin and The Rock (although the Rock didn't work out and got de-pushed when I discovered he was a drain on popularity). I intended to bring him back when the new guys were firmly on top.

Sadly it didn't work out as I hoped as WCW really misused Bret and he hit a time decline while over there. By the time I got him back he wasn't good for anything besides being an upper midcarder.

Sticking with my original picks :) and adding some more in. So Rocky's not a mega star either?! woa!!.. this diary is going to be awesome-er than it already is. Looking forward to the rumble :D funnily enough, my Royal Rumble ppv is next in my diary. RR2014, is only 11 months after I began my game, so not much different to nowadays... but at the same time, it is different... The Rock's one of the favourites to win the Rumble actually :D

Lesnar surprises HBK during his entrance and beats him savagely outside of the ring before throwing him in. The weakened Michaels fights back valiantly but finds himself unable to overcome the obstacle that is Brock Lesnar.</p><p> </p><p>

Christian had his match in the bag after Jericho was hit with his belt during a lionsault. While setting Chris up for the killswitch however the lights went out and an all too familiar bell tolls. Frozen stiff for a moment too long, Y2J recovers and puts him down with the breakdown for the three count.</p><p> </p><p>

Hulk apparently took a pretty bad spill and he'll be missing the rest of 2004....</p>
