<p>September 1995, Week 2</p><p> </p><p> </p><p><em> Only two weeks in, and Vince is clearly feeling the heat. His recent actions reveal his desperation.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> There's no question that we have higher star power in this war, with names like Hulk, Randy and Ric on our roster. Vince seems to have decided to do something about this disadvantage, as he's making a big push to bring the Ultimate Warrior back despite all the headaches he's given WWF in the past. Warrior got in touch with me in hopes of creating a bidding war over his services, but while I have no problem meeting or surpassing the kind of money Vince is offering, I'm reluctant to match the various perks he's thrown in. He's offering Warrior wage matching, a hiring veto and even creative control, which I don't believe Vince has ever given to anyone before. I'm contemplating blowing the WWF's offer away in terms of either money or years and seeing if he'll prioritize that over those perks, but I'm not sure if it would be worth it. Denying Vince perhaps the biggest name on the open market is tempting, but I don't know if we really need him. We have big name stars aplenty, and it's no secret that Warrior is notoriously difficult to deal with. One way or the other, I'll need to make a decision soon.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> Vince may be doing his best to ignore the very existence of Nitro, but that didn't stop him from copying us and extending Raw to two hours. They just taped their first two hour Raw, and did their very best to make it a huge deal. Owen Hart beat Diesel for their world title in the main event, which is obviously major news. Of course, Raw is still taped six days in advance, so I can and will spoil that major story right at the start of Nitro.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> They crowned another new champion during their Superstars taping, but that was a much less notable story. They introduced the European Championship, which I suppose is analogous to our TV title as a third tier singles championship. But while we've put the TV belt on DDP, a guy who has a real chance to become a top of the card guy despite the late start to his career, the first holder of their new European strap is none other than Luke of the Bushwhackers. Maybe I'm biased, but I think it's clear which of us has the upper hand here.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p> </p><p> <hr noshade size=3></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="RingRider" data-cite="RingRider" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="38016" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> World Tag Team Championship: <strong>Harlem Heat</strong> vs. Dick Slater and Bunkhouse Buck {©}....While I don't know the mod, I'm sure Slater is in time decline and Harlem Heat have a bigger future (although I'm not sure how the Sherri/Parker romance will play into this)</p></div></blockquote><p> He is in time decline, yes. I gotta say, I've bookmarked this dynasty, and it's giving me the itch to start up my own dynasty, but with the WWF. <p>September 1995, Week 3</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i588.photobucket.com/albums/ss322/FCDiary/WCW95/Nitro.jpg~original</span><p> <strong>Monday, Week 3, September 1995</strong></p><p><strong> From the Selland Arena in Fresno, California</strong></p><p><strong> Attendance: 10,000 (sell-out!)</strong></p><p><strong> Announce Team: Eric Bischoff, Dusty Rhodes and Bobby Heenan</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> <em>Pre-Show: Hugh Morrus defeated Dave Sullivan in 05:18 </em><em><strong>(D)</strong></em><em> and Earl Robert Eaton defeated Joey Maggs in 04:43 </em><em><strong>(D+)</strong></em><em>.</em></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="38016" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> As promised, I spoiled the Owen Hart title change right at the start of the show, and invited all fans to watch a LIVE main event on Nitro featuring the blockbuster team of Hulk Hogan and Lex Luger against Zodiac and Shark of the Dungeon of Doom. Dusty and I both had some good lines to promote both tonight's show and Fall Brawl this Sunday, but Bobby was the star of the segment. <strong>(Grade: C+) </strong> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Johnny B. Badd, Jushin Liger and Eddie Guerrero vs. Diamond Dallas Page, Brian Pillman and Dean Malenko (w/Diamond Doll and Maxx Muscle) :</strong> This six-man was a good way to promote some of Fall Brawl's undercard matches. There was some good action here, with all three pairings getting some time in to build their respective PPV matches. DDP left midway through the match after having enough of Badd for the night, and the faces got the win when Eddie hit the Frog Splash on Pillman at 09:16. Brian's performance was not up to his usual standards. <strong>(Grade: C+) </strong></p><p> </p><p> With The Giant standing in the background, The Taskmaster delivered a creepy promo from the lair of the Dungeon of Doom. Kevin did great work here at playing up his obsession with destroying Hulkamania this Sunday at Fall Brawl; definitely the strongest segment this feud has ever had. <strong>(Grade: A) </strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Ultimo Dragon vs. Sabu (w/The Sheik):</strong> Two more cruiserweights debuted here, showcasing our steadily growing new division. Ultimo may have been a little nervous about his debut, as he didn't look as crisp as in most of the tapes we'd seen of his matches in Japan and Mexico. Still a decent match, though. Sabu won it in 04:44 with a Moonsault. <strong>(Grade: C-) </strong></p><p> </p><p> As Col. Parker was delivering a locker room promo about the Stud Stable's matches at Fall Brawl, Hawk barged in. He shouted at Parker to let Kurasawa know that he was going to get a Chicago-style beatdown on Sunday. Parker was excellent in showing his fear of Hawk. <strong>(Grade: C) </strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Alex Wright vs. Kamala:</strong> We played this up as a mismatch on commentary, but it was really designed to help Alex shine. He flew all around the ring and beat his much larger opponent with a Missile Dropkick at 07:22. Kamala was not at all happy about this, but considering he's on his way out the door anyway, I'm not concerned. <strong>(Grade: C-) </strong></p><p> </p><p> A camera was welcomed into the locker room of the Hulkamaniacs. Hulk warned Lex not to leave him out to dry in tonight's main event, and Savage also chimed in, saying he'd have his eye on the match for anything fishy. Sting tried to play peacemaker, but Lex was not impressed with the accusations. He promised to let his actions speak louder than his words. All four guys played off of each other well throughout this promo. <strong>(Grade: B+) </strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Marcus Bagwell vs. Arn Anderson:</strong> Bagwell and Anderson had some great chemistry in the ring. Of course, our focus on commentary was hyping his storyline with Ric Flair and their match on Sunday. Bagwell went down with a Spine Buster at 08:29. <strong>(Grade: B-) </strong></p><p> </p><p> Arn got on the mic after the match and called Ric Flair down to the ring. Ric came out, saying he was surprised to hear Arn speak; he was starting to think Brian Pillman did all his talking for him these days. Arn said that this wasn't about Pillman; it was about the two of them. For all these years, he'd been Ric's enforcer and done his dirty work—but this Sunday, he'll prove that he's every bit as good as the Nature Boy. Ric smiled and told him to bring his best, because to be the man, you've gotta beat the man. Unfortunately, Arn struggled on the mic here, and Ric was even worse. <strong>(Grade: C+) </strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Cobra vs. Scott Norton:</strong> Basic squash here, with Norton steamrolling over Cobra and beating him quickly with a Shoulder Breaker at 03:56. <strong>(Grade: D) </strong></p><p> </p><p> Mean Gene caught up to DDP on his way out of the arena, and asked him why he'd left during his match. DDP said that the whole world had seen Johnny B. Badd cheat and try to injure him six days before their title match, and he wasn't about to let that scumbag do that to him. Dallas had some great lines in this segment. <strong>(Grade: B-) </strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">United States Championship--</span></strong><strong> Sting {©} vs. Lord Steven Regal:</strong> Two quality wrestlers fought over the US strap in our semi main event. Regal showed off some of his classic European grappling and submissions, but Sting retained his title with the Scorpion Deathlock at 13:59. <strong>(Grade: B) </strong></p><p> </p><p> Harlem Heat were with Mean Gene for an interview. When Gene brought up Sherri's romance with Col. Parker as a potential distractions, Booker said that it didn't matter; all that mattered was that they took care of business and took those tag belts back to 110th Street in Harlem. <strong>(Grade: C) </strong></p><p> </p><p> The Nasty Boys delivered a generic promo about how they wanted a shot at whoever had the tag belts coming out of Fall Brawl. Both Nastys were quite bad at coming up with coherent lines. <strong>(Grade: D+) </strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Hulk Hogan and Lex Luger vs. The Shark and Zodiac (w/The Taskmaster):</strong> The big story of this match was the obvious mistrust and dissension between Hogan and Luger. It even played into the finish; Hulk slammed Zodiac and delivered his signature Legdrop, but Luger made a blind tag as his partner hit the ropes and came in to finish the job with the Torture Rack at 12:53. Despite Kevin doing some good work at ringside both shouting instructions to his men and staring at Hogan, Zodiac's performance was poor. Hulk looked good, though. <strong>(Grade: B) </strong></p><p> </p><p> Hogan looked none too happy about Luger seemingly stealing the glory, but they soon had bigger problems: the Dungeon of Doom hit the ring. Sting and Savage were both quick to run out as well, and as the two groups fought to a standstill, we shilled the PPV and War Games in particular. <p>Another great show, TFC, as the build toward Fall Brawl reaches a peak. The six man tag was a match that I would have loved to have seen in real life. Alex Wright beating Kamala was a definite surprise. </p><p> </p><p>

Are you going to keep Sabu in the hardcore mold that he was brought in as? In his real first Nitro match, he faced and beat Alex Wright and then the decision was reversed when he put Alex Wright through a table after the match.</p><p> </p><p>

Luger taking the blind tag on Hogan made me laugh. Eat this Mr. Ego! </p><p> </p><p>

It will be interesting to see who Teddy Long chooses to manage. Maybe Scott Norton?</p><p> </p><p>

Either way, a great show and I am looking forward to Fall Brawl.</p>

<p>As promised, an update. It might make a bit more sense for me to post this in my Golden Age diary given the following it has. But I think those who have been following that one are confident that it's in no danger of abandonment, and I wanted to reassure everyone that this new work hasn't died a quick death like my ill-fated ROH in '91 diary.</p><p> </p><p>

I received an email saying that my computer has been shipped back to me today, so hopefully I'll have it back up and running sometime next week. And since the problem was not hard drive related, it doesn't look like I'll lose any of my data (fingers crossed!) If that is indeed the case, I'll hopefully be able to get Fall Brawl up within a few days of my computer's arrival.</p>

September 1995, Week 3

In my continuing effort to build this new cruiserweight division, I'm bringing in an exciting young luchador named Rey Mysterio Jr. He's small in stature, even by cruiserweight standards, but the things he can do are simply jaw-dropping. There certainly isn't anyone in the WWF who can compare to him. I think he'll do great things in WCW.

I've also tentatively decided to debut my previously-mentioned acquisition, {REDACTED}, on Nitro the night after Fall Brawl. Plans could still change, but I'm thinking this'll be a good time to pull the trigger.

<hr noshade size=3>

So I got my computer back yesterday with a new adapter...and it still doesn't work. I just got through talking with someone from HP's repair center, who is going to have me send it in for a second time, this time to a higher-level technician than before. I almost asked him why even a low-level technician would send back a computer that doesn't even power on, but as I doubt the guy I was talking to had anything to do with it, I held back my snark. Just barely, though.

Anyway, this means that there's still no ETA on Fall Brawl. One thing I will say is that even if I wind up losing everything from my hard drive, I still plan to continue with this. Even without a save backup, I'm early enough in that it wouldn't take much effort on my part to tweak the mod so it'll start in October with all the happenings in the game world that I've documented.

HP, yikes. I've gone to war with them in the past, I feel like they're completely inept at any type of customer service in my experiences. And I'm not even one of those people that complains about every single customer service support center.

Good luck and godspeed :p

Man, guess I should have solicited opinions before I made my purchase. Or perhaps I shouldn't have bought it from Walmart...but considering my dad worked there at the time and was able to buy it on my behalf for like 40% off, it seemed a good value.

The guy I talked to today was apologetic, at least, so I couldn't get too mad at him. If nothing else, my still being under warranty should mean that this will eventually be solved at no cost to me, even if it means them having to send me a new computer entirely. Losing the data from the harddrive would be a bummer, but there's nothing critical or irreplaceable on there.

We started the show with a segment from the lair of the Dungeon of Doom, with the Taskmaster entreating his men to help him deal Hulkamania a fatal blow inside War Games tonight. He said that the dissension and mistrust flowing through Hogan's team was a critical flaw that they would be able to exploit, because unlike the Hulkamaniacs, the Dungeon of Doom were united and devoted to their mutual goal. Sullivan flubbed some lines here, and Shark and Zodiac both looked poor. Once again, though, the Giant did a wonderful job of standing in the background looking terrifying.

The two Cruiserweight semifinalists hit the ring for the first match of the PPV, and they put on the kind of entertaining display of fast-paced action that I aim to feature regularly with this division. They flew through the air and worked on the mat with equal frequency and skill, and the fans of WCW could see their ability even if they aren't exactly household names yet. Malenko took the win with a rollup and a handful of trunks, but we left little doubt that this battle is far from over.

The American Males were preparing for their unannounced bonus match against the Blue Bloods when Teddy Long came into the locker room. Teddy said he felt the Males had a lot of promise and offered to manage them tonight as a trial run of sorts, and the Males accepted.

This was the culmination of the storyline that saw Kurasawa “break” Hawk's arm, and as such was a rather snug brawl. Kurasawa worked the “injured” arm throughout, with the story of the match being Hawk's courage as he gutted through at far less than 100%. Unfortunately, neither man did a particularly stellar job of selling each others' offense, and the match suffered for it. Col. Parker did good work on the floor, though. Hawk won both the match and the feud with a big Clothesline from the top rope.

This last-minute addition to the show was thrown together to do a number of things: fill time, showcase two teams I hope to build up going forward, and see how Teddy Long would mesh with the Males. There wasn't any notable chemistry evident to me, but Teddy still did good work and enhanced their act. Not sure if he'll stick with them going forward, but it's an option at least. Bagwell had a really bad night here, but it was still a decent, formulaic tag team match. Bagwell made a late hot tag, but Regal won the match for his team with an Exploder Suplex.

Harlem Heat did an interview with Mean Gene right before they went out for their title match. Just basic stuff; Booker and Stevie talking about taking the titles back, and Sherri once again stating that her personal life would not get in the way of her managerial career.

The crowd reaction was understandably confused given that two heel teams were wrestling each other, but this story has never really been about the wrestlers involved. The focus of the match was the Sherri/Parker romance, and whether or not either or both of them would get involved. At the end, Sherri put her career over personal life, kicking Parker in the groin and raking the eyes of Bunkhouse Buck. That signalled the ending sequence, with the Heat taking care of Slater to regain the tag team titles.

Liger and Pillman met in the finals of our cruiserweight title tournament, and put on the kind of exciting match I want this division to become known for. The fan reaction wasn't at the level of the matches featuring our main event stars, but the in-ring action was as good as anything on the show. Liger set up for his Liger Bomb move, but Pillman countered it into a Sunset Flip to become the first cruiserweight champ.

Pillman got on the mic after the match and did a bit of celebrating before shifting gears to insult Ric Flair and brag about how badly his good friend Arn Anderson was going to destroy him. That brought out Flair, and the two traded barbs for a bit. Brian did a good job coming up with some witty taunts about Flair's age.

The story of this match was Badd taking the fight to DDP, and DDP doing everything he could to try and avoid him. All the old tricks were used here: the chase around the ring, hiding behind the manager(s), etc. Johnny got some near-falls towards the end, but Dallas held on until the 10-minute time limit ran out. I had high hopes for this match, but neither man was fond of the finish. I had to make concessions to try and protect both of them with the booking, and I think the match quality suffered as a result.

Team Hogan had a “clearing the air” backstage promo, with Sting again trying to play peacemaker, Luger acting indifferent, and Hogan and Savage remaining mistrustful of Lex, but agreeing to set their differences aside for the sake of prevailing against the Dungeon of Doom in War Games. Sting's performance wasn't great, as he couldn't really find the right balance of defending Lex while also supporting Hulk and Randy. Lex did a fantastic job playing up his lack of concern for the opinions of Hulk and Randy, and Hulk looked great as per usual.

The crowd was red hot for this showdown between two longtime friends, and Ric and Arn delivered a performance worthy of the hype. They had a great back and forth match, and did a wonderful job of telling a unique story built upon the premise that because they were such close friends and had spent so much time together, they knew each others' every move and strategy. After a ref bump...

http://i588.photobucket.com/albums/ss322/FCDiary/WCW95/Pillman.jpg~original

Brian Pillman came running down to the ring and was preparing to interfere, but Arn cut him off and shook his head, telling him not to get involved. Arn wanted to win the match all on his own. Minutes later, Flair caught Arn in the Figure Four in the middle of the ring for the submission while Pillman shook his head from the floor. This was a great match, even with Double A visibly running out of gas towards the end.

The War Games is the most vaunted gimmick match we've got, but the odds of these eight living up to the high standard Flair and Anderson set in the semi main were slim. They didn't really even come close,in truth. It didn't help that Sting, probably the best worker in the match, didn't look very sharp. Still, the match did what I needed it to do: advance both the Hogan/Dungeon of Doom storyline and the intrigue between Luger and the rest of his teammates.

This was a pretty formulaic War Games match, with the Dungeon maintaining the edge in the odd number situations until a new babyface would enter the cage and even the odds. When Luger did so in support of Sting and Savage, he smirked down at the Macho Man, which didn't make Randy happy. Hogan was the last man in and helped his squad gain the edge with some borderline dirty tactics, but it was Luger who got the glory when he forced Meng to submit to the Torture Rack.

The Hulkamaniacs had won the match, but Hogan was still unsatisfied. He went through the open cage door and procured a steel pipe, which he brought back into the ring. He wielded the pipe as he sized up the Taskmaster, taunting the man who'd done his best to destroy Hulkamania. Hulk swung the pipe...but Sullivan ducked, and Sting took the blow in his place. The Stinger was knocked out cold, and Luger yelled at Hogan before checking on Sting. As Lex helped his friend out of the cage and towards the back...

http://i588.photobucket.com/albums/ss322/FCDiary/WCW95/Giant.jpg~original

The Giant waded into the fray. He cornered Hogan and Savage, and brutalized our two exhausted heroes with punches and chops before tossing Savage head-first into the cage. Then, to really drive the point home, he lifted Hulk into the air with ease and dropped him with a Chokeslam. The PPV ended with a shot of the Giant standing tall in the cage.

Well even though I kinda sucked at the predictions, the show was a really great read. I like how you adapted the Bischoff style to match this format, I am highly enjoying this writing style and to be honest will probably implement it into a future game some day.

Flair and Arn getting MOTN and overshadowing the WarGames match is pretty much just the way Fall Brawl 95 always goes no matter what you try to do. Actually that's about the only problem with playing this time period; the shows end up rating badly because the undercard stuff that Flair and the cruiserweights are doing will completely eclipse the Hogan vs Dungeon main events. I look forward to seeing what you do to deal with that issue in the future!

I'm glad you liked it. I find it much easier to write in this style. You talking about future games is all well and good, but War of the Thrones better not go anywhere for a long time to come! :D

I would have been stunned if Flair and Arn hadn't been MOTN, really. If I could have made it seem logical from a story standpoint I would have made them the main event, but Hogan vs. the DoD is very clearly the main focus of WCW at this point, and War Games in general not headlining would just feel wrong.

September 1995, Week 4

Monday, Week 4, September 1995

From the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Illinois

Attendance: 9,883

Announce Team: Eric Bischoff, Dusty Rhodes and Bobby Heenan

Pre-Show: Meng defeated Tim Horner in 04:45 © and the American Males defeated Ricky Santana and Rip Rogers in 05:08 (D).

Dusty, Bobby and I hyped tonight's show, and the main event tag match of Lex Luger and Randy Savage taking on the Blue Bloods. I again spoiled the taped Raw episode, with Mabel over Bret Hart and Undertaker over Jeff Jarrett. Dusty was superb here, but Bobby struggled. (Grade: C+)

Hulk started off the show in the ring, and demanded that The Giant come out and fight him right then and there. Instead, Lex Luger came out to confront him. Lex revealed that Sting would be out for a couple of weeks with a concussion thanks to Hulk hitting him in the head with a pipe at Fall Brawl. He then questioned whether it was intentional or not, which led to an angry denial from Hogan. Hulk worked the crowd well here in selling his anger at both the Giant and Luger's accusations, but Lex stumbled several times and looked very underwhelming. (B+)

Mr. JL vs. Sabu (w/The Sheik): Some cruiserweight action to open the show up. Sabu showed off his crazy style before going over JL in 06:47. (Grade: C+)

Eddie Guerrero vs. Devon Storm: Back-to-back cruiserweight matches; really trying to get this division over. Dean Malenko came out and stood in the aisle to scout during the match, distracting Eddie in the process. Still, Guerrero got the win in 06:06 with his beautiful Frog Splash. (Grade: C-)

A camera listened in on a conversation between Luger and Randy Savage in a hallway. They agreed that they needed to band together tonight against the Blue Bloods. Savage questioned why Luger hadn't been there to help he and Hulk at Fall Brawl when the Giant showed up, but Lex insisted that it was unintentional; all his focus was on helping his unconscious friend Sting. Lex was much more composed this time around, and it showed; he was masterful in this segment. (Grade: B)

World Television Championship--Cobra vs. Diamond Dallas Page © (w/Maxx Muscle and the Diamond Doll): Another day, another defense for DDP. On commentary, we discussed whether or not Johnny B. Badd deserved a rematch after wrestling the champ to a 10-minute draw at Fall Brawl. DDP won with his Diamond Cutter finish in 07:56. He and Cobra had great chemistry, leading to a better match than I expected. (Grade: C)

The Stud Stable came out for an in-ring promo, and were not happy. Col. Parker said his team had been robbed by Harlem Heat at Fall Brawl, and would prove it tonight by issuing an open challenge to any team right then and there. And out came...

The Steiners! Parker did a good job selling his shock and fear at seeing the Steiners, but Buck & Slater underperformed. Rick's performance was good, and Scott looked like a star. (Grade: C-)

The Steiner Brothers vs. Bunkhouse Buck and Dick Slater (w/Col. Parker): This was a showcase for the returning Steiners, who we put over as one of the greatest teams of all time. They ran through the former champs in 08:48. The Steiners showed off their excellent chemistry, and Scott looked amped up for his return and on top of his game. Col. Parker did more good work on the floor as he futilely urged his men on. (Grade: B-)

Mean Gene interviewed the Steiners after the match. They said they were back in WCW because it's where the big boys play, and is also home to the best tag teams in the world. They wanted to be back on top, and officially challenged the new champions Harlem Heat. Rick enjoyed the freedom to improvise here, and Gene worked off of him really well. (Grade: C+)

Ultimo Dragon vs. Kamala: We put over Ultimo's courage in stepping outside the cruiserweight division to take on a super heavyweight like Kamala. Surprisingly, the exciting young cruiserweight and plodding Ugandan Giant worked really well together. Ultimo scored the upset with a Moonsault in 04:38. Kamala wasn't happy at all about putting this unknown talent over, but this was his swan song with WCW, so I don't really care. (Grade: D+)

Gene interviewed Brian Pillman, who hyped his cruiserweight title rematch against Jushin Liger set for next week's show. When Gene asked him about the Ric Flair/Arn Anderson match and aftermath, he shook his head in disgust and said he was disappointed in Arn for once again willingly playing second fiddle to Flair. Gene was superb in his reactions to Brian's ravings. (Grade: B-)

Johnny B. Badd vs. Arn Anderson: This wasn't equal to Johnny's match with Flair a few weeks back, but it wasn't bad. The finish came when DDP ran in and attacked Badd as he was out on the floor, and Arn picked up the pieces to win in 12:52. (Grade: B-)

Flair joined Arn in the ring after the match, and Gene interviewed them. When asked about Brian Pillman's comments, Flair said that Arn Anderson took a back seat to no one. But if Pillman had a problem with his association with his best friend, he could take it up with the Nature Boy. Arn looked conflicted and didn't say much. Flair and Gene had some nice back and forth improv. (Grade: C+)

Lex Luger and Randy Savage vs. The Blue Bloods: We played up the possible dissension between Luger and Savage, but they coexisted here. The Blue Bloods got in some of their mat-based offense, but Randy finished things off with the Flying Elbow on Regal in 09:46. (Grade: B-)

The Giant and The Taskmaster hit the ring after the match. Sullivan sat back and laughed as the Giant gave Luger and Savage a double Chokeslam. Once they were taken out, Sullivan got on the mic and said the Giant would accept Hogan's challenge for a fight...at Halloween Havoc, if Hogan's title was on the line. Really heated segment here to close the show and build our primary storyline. (Grade: A)

Show Overall: B

TNT Rating: 7.05

Raw Overall: B-

Raw USA Rating: 4.85

Mean Gene interviewed Eddie Guerrero, who vowed to get revenge on Dean Malenko in their rematch this week on Nitro. (D+)

Dean Malenko defeated Mark Starr at 05:21. (D+)

In an interview with Mean Gene, Johnny B. Badd said DDP wouldn't be able to hide from him and ambush him forever, and he would eventually take that TV title away from him. (C+)

Scott Norton defeated Scott Armstrong at 05:51. (D+)

Alex Wright defeated Sgt. Craig Pittman at 08:15. (C-)

Brian Pillman cut a promo in which he said he would confront Ric Flair Monday on Nitro after he finished with Jushin Liger. (B-)
