WWF vs WCW: The War Continues...

Recommended Posts

Austin and Triple H must be fuming right now. If I´m correct, they were not willing to lose the match in my save. Anyway, good show!

Triple H didn't like it, as he was taking the fall, however after I made Triple H strong and gave him a dominate note (which is pretty much how the match went down) he was ok with it.

Damn good shows so far. Splitting the rosters is a very good idea, so that you can continue operations without having to worry about too much cross-promoting between the brands. The Hardyz grabbing the Tag titles is a good move, then again without making a brand new team like the WWF did IRL, who else really is there? Especially with the Dudleyz leaving the picture. 2001 was basically the last time that a tag team division was hot, and I really hope to see you run with it.

I actually plan on building good tag team divisions on both rosters, which is why I slotted the Dudleyz over in WCW. The WCW tag team roster is pretty stinky to start with, particularly seeing as the crowd hates both O'Haire and Paumbo.

WWF hasn't got a bad division, with the APA, Hardys, Right to Censor, Edge and Christian, Too Cool (although Scotty is injured) as well as main event teams such as Triple H/Austin and Taker/Kane.

Also, thanks for your kind words guys, I'm really enjoying this one and looking forward to Judgment Day!

From the desk of Vince McMahon: Phew, what a busy couple of weeks it’s been getting this venture up and running! With Konnan and Jeff Jarrett’s debuts on Thunder last week we’ve finally got all the guys with WCW contracts sewn up. That’s not to mean there aren’t more new signings still on the horizon though, particularly as I look to rebuild WCW's shattered tag team division...

Now, on to the disappointment that was Slamboree. I guess a lot of it was my fault for the booking of the show. There just weren’t as many high rating segments between matches, or what we in the industry call “angles”. The angle to match ratio for a PPV is much lower than a TV Show, so you really need to hit the high notes for the limited time you have. I’ll look to be much better in the future, and try to utilise the more talented guys on the roster to their strengths for the big events.

Another big reason for the lack of success for the WCW roster was the backstage environment. It was borderline toxic! Now, this is due in part to a number of “negative” influences on the roster, but a massive contributing factor is that nobody really likes each other backstage! It’s not that there are a great amount of enemies, more that there’s just no real friendships, which form the kind of glue that really can hold a roster together. Anyway, in the weeks following Slamboree, I’ve made massive moves to counter this problem. The addition of Edge, Christian, Rhyno (although temporary for now) has added some much needed good vibes to the backstage area, as has the three Radicalz. Not only does Eddie have a good relationship with the other two Radicalz, he’s also very close with Rey Mysterio and Chavo. Jeff Jarrett and Konnan finally rejoining the roster helps too, as they have close friendships with Mike Tenay and Rey Mysterio respectively.

I also plan on bringing another guy onto the WCW roster shortly who has a couple of close friends, although I am slightly wary that they might get a bit too “clicky”.

Another week, and another bunch of incidents backstage! In the last ten days, I’ve had Rhyno and Eddie both test positive for steroids, Eddie in fact returning a positive test twice. I took the fatherly approach with all three incidents, particularly as it was a bit harsh testing a guy twice within two weeks. Scott Hall failed to show up with a meeting with a road agent, which was also a bit worrying knowing his checkered past, but again I chose to look the other way. He didn’t seem to care either way, meaning I may have to be a bit harsher if he steps out of line again. Finally, Hardcore Holly gained a lot of heat for “passing wind” backstage, which I chose to ignore entirely. Honestly??

On a final, positive note, I have unearthed a talented young writer from Ukraine who goes by the handle of “Blodyxe”. I’ve seen some of his work previously and he writes very good storylines ( I urge anyone who hasn’t seen his stuff yet to check it out here). He’ll be helping me with the Chavo/Eddie/Rey story heading into the Great American Bash, and it’s one I’m looking very forward to playing out onscreen in the upcoming weeks.

Anyway, onwards and upwards to Judgment Day we go!!

I hope you’re enjoying reading.

WWF RAW IS WAR, Monday Week 3, May 2001

MA TD Garden (New England)

Attendance: 19,028 (sell-out)

Announcers: Jim Ross, Jerry “The King” Lawler, Paul Heyman

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/JHardy.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/MHardy.jpg

The show kicks off with the new WWF Tag Team Champions The Hardy Boyz coming to the ring with their new tag title belts to a tremendous ovation from the crowd. They get up on the turnbuckles and show off their belts to the sell-out TD Garden as the announcers hype the achievement of beating Triple H and Stone Cold Steve Austin last week on Raw.

Their celebration doesn’t last long, however.

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/HHH.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Austin.jpg

To a relatively mixed reaction from the crowd, the current Intercontinental Champion and the WWF Champion come out and get straight up in the new tag champs’ faces. Austin grabs a microphone and asks the two Hardy “boys” to give him one good reason why he and Triple H shouldn’t just kick their asses right here, right now and take “their” titles back. In response, the Hardys just both raise their new title belts defiantly.

(86)

The four superstars look set to get it on, when all of a sudden…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Foley.jpg

It’s Commissioner Foley!! Mick Foley comes out, with a dirty old torn hat on, and tells the audience that the reason he is “right here, in Boston Massachusetts… with my commissioner’s hat on” is in order to finalise the card for Judgment Day, which is in just six days’ time!

He then goes on to inform Austin and Triple H that they can’t have the Hardy Boyz tonight in an official WWF Tag Team title match, as Matt Hardy has to defend his European Championship against the returning X-Pac. He asks them if they would like a piece of the Hardys at Judgment Day, even though Triple H also has a matchup with Raven for his Intercontinental Championship. Austin is nodding his head vigorously, but at the mention of his Intercontinental title match Triple H no longer looks so sure. Foley also tells Austin that he himself will be in singles action at Judgment Day, defending his WWF Championship against the winner of tonight’s Number 1 Contender match between The Undertaker and his “little” brother Kane! At this point, Austin seems to lose all interest in a tag team rematch at Judgment Day much the same way Triple H did previously.

Commissioner Foley then departs the ring with the famous words “Have a nice day!”

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/DLo.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/BillyGunn.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Chyna.jpg

In an extremely short match, Billy Gunn defeated D'Lo Brown in 5:29 by pinfall with a Fame-Ass-Er.

Winner by pinfall: Billy Gunn

(57)

Billy grabs a microphone and complains that lately all he's been facing is jobbers. He feels he needs a much bigger challenge than facing a different jobber each week.

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Foley.jpg

Commissioner Foley comes to the ring and agrees with Billy that he definitely needs a bigger challenge than facing a single jobber each week. That’s why, at Judgment Day, Foley has booked Billy in an "Ultimate Jobber Match”, facing off against not one, but five jobbers in an elimination match! Billy looks less than impressed to say the least.

“Have a nice day!”

(66)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/JR.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/King.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Heyman.jpg

We cut to the announce desk where JR, King and Paul Heyman are discussing the card for Judgment Day. They say that apart from the WWF Championship, Intercontinental Championship and “Ultimate Jobber” matches that have already been announced, Commissioner Foley has just given them word of three other matches that will take place on pay-per-view this Sunday. At Judgment Day, Chris Jericho will square off against William Regal, while The Big Show will go one-on-one with The Rock! And if that isn’t enough, these four men will face each other later tonight in tag team action. Finally, the Hardy Boyz will make their first defence of the WWF Tag Team titles in a three-way dance against the A.P.A and Right to Censor, and in fact three competitors from that very matchup will be in action next in a singles triple threat match!

The announcers mention the fact that Lita is present at Jeff Hardy’s side for the first time in several weeks as his brother Matt is absent in preparation for his European title matchup against the returning X-Pac later tonight. They also mention how Right to Censor has the clear numbers advantage and has everyone else out here outnumbered tonight.

The match ends up providing some good action but not much in the way of heat, as Jeff Hardy manages to pick up the pinfall on Val Venis after a Swanton Bomb in 7:55. He was able to make the pin while Bradshaw was distracted by the other three members of Right to Censor, who constantly interfered in the matchup.

Winner by pinfall: Jeff Hardy

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Undertaker.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Kane.jpg

We cut to the backstage area, where Undertaker is telling Kane that whatever happens tonight in their Number 1 Contender match that they're still brothers and to not let the WWF Championship come between them. They need to stick together if they are to beat Austin and Triple H at their own game.

Kane just nods his head.

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Angle.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Benoit.jpg

Kurt Angle comes out to the ring and calls out Chris Benoit to challenge him to a match-up at Judgment Day, to decide once and for all who the better wrestler is. Benoit comes out and says he happily accepts, although he never really looks happy.

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Foley.jpg

Once again Commissioner Foley comes and stands at the top of the ramp with his mangy old hat and says “Who’s the better wrestler?? In that case we better make this a Submission Match!”

“Have a nice day!”

From the looks on both their faces it appears Chris Benoit is indeed going to have a nice day, while Kurt Angle is going to do the complete opposite.

WWF European Championship Match

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/WWFEuropean.jpg

As this match kicks off, the announcers mention how Matt Hardy doesn’t get a lot of chances to defend this title, as he’s not often involved in singles action. They also talk up X-Pac’s return, saying what a fierce competitor he is and how he always gives 110% every time he steps into the ring. As to be expected, this matchup proved to be fast paced and full of action, but just as Matt Hardy was beginning to gain the ascendency music that’s foreign to WWF broadcasting hits…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Nash.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Hall.jpg

"It’s the nWo! On Monday Night Raw!! What on earth are they doing here??"

X-Pac’s old buddies Scott Hall and Kevin Nash emerge from the crowd on either sides of the ring. Scott Hall emerges from the crowd the same side as Lita and grabs her, causing referee Tim White to come over to the ropes and admonish him. Meanwhile, Kevin Nash slides into the ring behind the referee’s back, hitting Hardy with a Jacknife Power Bomb, before sliding straight back out again.

X-Pac makes the cover as the referee turns around and makes the count, and we have a new European Champion!!

Winner by pinfall and new WWF European Champion: X-Pac

(66)

Hall and Nash then join X-Pac in the ring as all three do wolfpac signs and X-Pac holds up the European title in triumph. As security starts to converge on the ring the two “Outsiders” make their escape through the crowd while the announcers lament the fact that the nWo has finally made their awful mark on Raw is War.

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Rock.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Jericho.jpg

We then go backstage to where The Rock and Chris Jericho are cutting a promo about the Big Show and William Regal. They tell all of the Jerichoholics AND the millions and millions of Rock’s fans to stay tuned while they give a sneak preview of what’s going to happen to Show and Regal at Judgment Day.

They then head off to the ring.

(92)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Rock.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Jericho.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/BigShow.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Regal.jpg

This bout proved to be a great matchup, with plenty of offense split equally between all four competitors, however after about twelve minutes the Big Show is able to use his size and strength advantage to throw Chris Jericho out of the ring. This causes the Rock to come into the ring to confront the seven foot giant, which distracts referee Mike Chioda while William Regal attacks Jericho with a steel chair on the outside. Regal then rolls Jericho’s lifeless body back into the ring, allowing Big Show to get the pinfall, in similar circumstances to last week.

Winner by pinfall: Big Show and William Regal

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Vince.jpg

We cut to the carpark where Vince McMahon can be seen furiously pacing and talking on his cell-phone.

“Well YOU tell ME what your nWo cronies were doing on MY show interrupting MY European Championship match…”

“Well I know you say they’re not contracted to WCW, but do you expect me to believe that for a second, Shane?”

“Oh well there’s only one thing for it, I’m coming down to Thunder on Thursday night to sort this whole mess out. Yes, that’s right. I’ll see you on Thursday.”

“Oh yeah, and one more thing… about those Radicalz showing up on WCW last Thursday night…”

(94)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Austin.jpg

As we get ready for our huge Main Event matchup between the Undertaker and Kane, Stone Cold Steve Austin joins the announce table to “scope out the competition.”

(100)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Kane.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Undertaker.jpg

Number 1 Contender for the WWF Championship Match

In a fantastic matchup between two WWF superstars at the top of their game, the two brothers held nothing back as they tore each other apart in their quest to gain the highest honour in the industry today. On the announce desk, Austin kept reiterating that he doesn’t care which of these two “gigantic jackasses” he faces at Judgment Day, he’s walking out with his WWF Championship, and that, apparently, is the bottom line. The match came to its gripping conclusion as The Undertaker defeated Kane in 12:26 by pinfall following a Last Ride.

Winner by pinfall: The Undertaker

(81)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/HHH.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Austin.jpg

Following the match, Triple H runs out to the ring with his sledgehammer, Austin grabs his championship belt, and they both proceed to attack The Undertaker in an attempt to incapacitate him before Judgment Day even arrives. A worrying sign for the Deadman, however, is Kane watching passively from ringside and doing absolutely nothing to assist his brother as Triple H and Austin systematically dismantle the new Number 1 Contender.

But fortunately for the Undertaker, help is not too far away…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Raven.jpg

Raven runs to the ring with a steel chair and chases Austin and his own opponent for Judgment Day, Triple H, away. He stands in the ring brandishing his chair and shouting abuse in the direction of Triple H and Austin, as the Undertaker struggles to rise, and can’t pick himself up from the mat. All the while his brother Kane continues to watch on emotionlessly as the announcers wonder if the damage may have already been done.

WCW Thunder, Thursday Week 3, May 2001

CA Staples Center (South West)

Attendance: 20,193 (sell-out)

Announcers: Mike Tenay, Tony Schiavone, Dusty Rhodes

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Vince.jpg

For the first time in sports entertainment history, a WCW programme opens up with the theme music for the owner of the WWF, as Vince McMahon strides down to the ring purposefully to a solid ovation of boos from a very vocal pro-WCW crowd.

He grabs a microphone, but before he can utter a single word…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Shane.jpg

The owner of WCW, and Vince’s son, Shane McMahon comes out to a tremendous cheer from this sell-out crowd at the Staples Center. Shane grabs a microphone for himself and states that he’d just like to officially welcome Vince McMahon to WCW. This is greeted with another loud chorus of boos from the audience. When the crowd dies down, Vince begins to talk.

“Well Shane, I’m not going to beat around the bush here. I came to WCW for one reason, and one reason only. And that reason is the n… W… o.” This is greeted with a mixed reaction of loud cheers AND boos from the audience, who seem to be split 50-50.

Shane cuts his father off “I know what you’re going to say, Vince. That these guys are WCW guys and they interfered with your show when they got involved in the European title match on Raw Monday night. Well let me put any rumours linking these guys to bed very, very quickly. When I bought WCW, I had the option to decide which workers contracts to extend, and which ones to let go. And let me assure you, hand on heart, that I terminated the contracts of Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. I can show you the papers myself. Dammit Vince, I’ve been having my own problems with these three over the last month myself, if you haven’t noctied.”

Vince responds “Well that’s all well and good Shane, but I know these guys. Hell, I CREATED these guys! They don’t work for free. If I’m not paying them, and you’re not paying them, then who in the hell is signing these guys’ paychecks??”

“I don’t know, but I’d sure as heck like to know that myself” Shane goes on to say. “So let’s get to the bottom of this situation, right here and now, shall we? I’m prepared to offer an olive branch to the guy who is clearly the ringleader in this whole situation… none other than Hulk Hogan himself. That’s right Hulk, I invite you to come to Thunder tonight and explain just exactly what is going through that power-hungry, greedy little mind of yours. That’s right, I’m offering you an amnesty, and I promise that security will not lay a finger on you if you enter the arena tonight. In fact, why don’t you come out now, and we’ll get this over with, I know you’re lurking out back there somewhere, as usual.”

(69)

Vince and Shane (and twenty thousand other rabid fans) wait expectedly for the nWo leader to make his appearance. Instead, up on the titantron, four familiar faces appear.

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Nash.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Hogan.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Hall.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Syxx.jpg

It’s the nWo!! And they appear to be standing in some dodgy alley somewhere outside the arena! Syxx is present alongside his old running mates, resplendent in his nWo colours and with the WWF European title draped over his shoulder.

At the sight of this, Vince lets fly “You sons of bitches give me back my European Championship right now!!”

“Tut-tut Vince,” responds Hogan. “It’s the nWo's European Championship now. And it’s always been a relatively worthless belt anyway, hasn’t it?? I mean, who even cares about Europe in the wrestling industry?? Do they even have televisions?? Do they even care about wrestling?? No, this title is useless garbage, and as such, it isn’t even fit for a homeless person. Or is it??”

The camera pans out to see Syxx standing next to a dirty, dishevelled old bum. Syxx graciously presents the bum with the European Championship belt, before the nWo members all laugh, slap each other on the back, and wander off screen.

We cut back to the ring, where Vince is furious, as he and Shane make their way towards the back.

(71)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Chavo.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Kidman.jpg

Chavo Guerrero vs Billy Kidman

Throughout this extremely short match, the announcers discuss Chavo’s actions last week when he confronted his Uncle Eddie regarding his support for Rey Mysterio in what can only be described as a fit of jealousy. After 5:23, Chavo gets the win over Billy Kidman by pinfall while using the ropes for leverage.

Winner by pinfall: Chavo Guerrero

(53)

But when the match is over, Chavo isn’t done, grabbing a chair from under the ring and sliding back in to attack Kidman mercilessly. That is, until…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Rey.jpg

Rey Mysterio runs down from the back to make the save on his Filthy Animals stablemate and chase Chavo away from ringside. Dusty Rhodes notes that it’s obvious Chavo has attacked Kidman to send a message to both Rey Mysterio and his uncle.

(42)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Vince.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Shane.jpg

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Eddie.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Saturn.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Malenko.jpg

We cut to Shane’s office where Vince is sitting behind Shane’s desk and addressing the three Radicalz. Shane is standing off to one side. Vince tells Eddie, Malenko and Saturn in no uncertain terms that they have a watertight contract with WWF, and as such they cannot appear in a wrestling ring for WCW, or he will sue them, WCW, and he will sue Shane as well. Shane backs him up, saying it’s unfortunately true, and there’s nothing he can do about it.

Vince then goes on to say he’s feeling generous, however, and despite their suspension and continued lack of respect, he’s booked the Radicalz for a match at Judgment Day. In fact, all three of them will be fighting in the same match at Judgment Day, as they take on Kane in a steel cage gauntlet match! That’s right, one after the other they will take on the Big Red Machine, each going one on one with the monster in four sides of steel.

He dismisses them with the words “This is what happens when you piss off the boss.” Shane looks unhappy but there’s nothing he can do about it as his three new acquisitions are taken so quickly off his hands.

(66)

The Radicalz depart Shane’s office as another worker bursts in!!

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Goldberg.jpg

It’s Goldberg!! And if you thought he was mad before, he’s furious this week!! He storms into Shane’s office, sweeps all of the stuff off Shane’s desk and demands to know what Shane is going to do about the nWo and Booker T, who are obviously working together to keep Goldberg away from the World Heavyweight Championship.

Vince quietly raises both arms in the air and excuses himself from the office at this point in time. At which point Goldberg gets directly in Shane’s face and asks him what he’s going to do about it. Shane tells Goldberg to calm down, as he’s already making moves to get the nWo under control. And as for Booker T, tonight there will be a World Heavyweight Championship Number 1 Contender match between Goldberg and Ric Flair, with the winner taking on Booker T at the Great American Bash.

If Goldberg can beat Flair tonight, he can have Booker at the Bash, all nice and legal-like. This calms Goldberg down slightly, although as he leaves Shane’s office he punches a hole right through his door! Shane sits behind his desk, the look on his face making it obvious that he wonders just what it is he’s gotten himself into.

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Steiner.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Konnan.jpg

Scott Steiner vs Konnan

This match is extremely short, as Scott Steiner dominated Konnan from pillar to post and picked up the victory in 4:43 by pinfall with a Frankensteiner.

Winner by pinfall: Scott Steiner

(72)

After the match a pumped up Scott Steiner calls Ric Flair to the ring.

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Flair.jpg

Once Flair is standing in the ring across from Scott Steiner, “Big Poppa Pump” accuses the Nature Boy of hanging him out to dry, demanding to know why Flair is in the Number 1 Contender match tonight and Steiner isn’t. Flair says he doesn’t make the matches around here, but surely they can come to an agreement that is mutually beneficial to both parties. Like, for example, if Ric Flair was to win tonight’s match against Goldberg and then go on to defeat Booker T at Great American Bash for the World Heavyweight Championship, maybe his first title defence could be against Scott Steiner the following week on Thunder??

This causes Steiner to stop and think for a second, before nodding his head and saying “Understood.”

(83)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Edge.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Vince.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Christian.jpg

We cut backstage where Vince is walking down a corridor, when all of a sudden Edge and Christian jump out of the shadows and scare Vince nearly half to death! Edge asks Vince if it’s possible they could "come home" to the WWF, perhaps be inserted into the three-way WWF Tag Team Championship match Judgment Day??

Vince responds by coolly asking them if they have managed to recover the WWF Hardcore title yet.

(68)

As he says this, we cut to another area backstage…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Rhyno.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Kanyon.jpg

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/WWFHardcore.jpg

In another corridor in the arena, Kanyon and Rhyno are beating the holy hell out of one another!! Once again, Rhyno has the obligatory WWF referee with him in order to make the three-count for the championship, but as has been a common story over the last month, Kanyon is able to absorb a lot of punishment, hit Rhyno with a Kanyon Cutter, and get the hell out of Dodge with his title intact.

We cut back to Vince, who simply shakes his head at Edge and Christian, and continues on his way.

(57)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Booker.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Goldberg.jpg

Goldberg is shown warming up in his locker room. Booker T walks in. The Animal leaps to his feet and grabs Booker by the shirt, slamming him into a locker. Booker tells Goldberg to cool himself, saying he only came in to wish Goldberg good luck tonight against Flair and he swears that last week was a total accident. He has absolutely nothing to do with the nWo, and never will have anything to do with the nWo. He also goes on to say he’ll be there at ringside tonight, and he’ll absolutely have his back against the nWo, or Scott Steiner, or anybody else who chooses to stick their nose into his Goldberg’s business.

“You’ll have my back?? Like last week?? No thanks!!” responds Goldberg, as he throws Booker back out the door.

(89)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Stacy.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Bubba.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/DVon.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Torrie.jpg

In another area of the building, the Dudley Boyz are being interviewed by WCW’s new interviewers, Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson, neither of them looking too thrilled at their new assignment. The Dudley Boyz state how they didn’t realise quite how pathetic the WCW tag team division is, with teams such as O’Haire & Palumbo and KroniK being the “top of the tree.” The competition is so pathetic, in fact, that they’re off to a bar tonight instead of competing, and invite Stacy and Torrie to join them.

The girls both decline the Dudleys’ offer, and it’s clear from the looks on their faces that they’d rather drink poison.

(55)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Jarrett.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/DDP.jpg

Jeff Jarrett vs Diamond Dallas Page

After Jeff Jarrett’s ruthless attack on DDP last week, the two WCW superstars squared off tonight in a non-title matchup. This bout featured great action which the crowd was thoroughly into, with the whole affair being the classic “face vs heel” contest, with Jeff Jarrett blatantly cheating whenever possible, while DDP fought fairly the whole match. The match was decided after 12:30, however, when Jarrett was able to wrap DDP’s leg around the ringpost before locking in a Figure-Four Leglock in the middle of the ring. DDP tried to hold out for as long as he could, before finally tapping out.

Winner by submission: Jeff Jarrett

(73)

Jarrett wasn’t done there, however, refusing to break the hold, with several officials having to run out and eventually get him to release. By then, as the announcers surmised, serious damage looked to be done to DDP’s legs, and he needed to be carried from the arena by medicos.

(76)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Tenay.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Schiavone.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Dusty.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Booker.jpg

As we are now getting ready for tonight’s Main Event, the World Heavyweight Champion Booker T comes down to the ring to join the announce team. Dusty Rhodes asks Booker point-blank if he’s been working in cahoots with the nWo in order to keep Goldberg down, however Booker vehemently denies this, stating that it has all just been a bunch of horrible coincidences up to this point, and he’ll gladly go one-on-one with Goldberg at the Great American Bash if he wins tonight.

(60)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Flair.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Goldberg.jpg

Ric Flair vs Goldberg

World Heavyweight Championship Number 1 Contender Match

This match had all the great action and crowd response you’d expect from two of the top athletes in the WCW. These two managed to go toe-to-toe for over ten minutes as Flair matched Goldberg’s power and aggression with his own cunningness and ring awareness.

As was to be expected from this matchup with all of the parties currently invested in the World Heavyweight title picture, it was only a matter of time before…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Steiner.jpg

Scott Steiner makes his way to the ring, obviously keen to give Flair the advantage and capitalise on his offer from earlier tonight. He only gets about halfway down the ramp, however, before a dark figure emerges from the crowd and stands in his path…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Sting.jpg

It’s Sting!! Sting gets directly in Steiner’s way, baseball bat in hand, and it’s obvious that Steiner is not going to get any closer to tonight’s action without a confrontation with the Stinger himself. This is obviously a battle Steiner doesn’t want to engage him, and he retreats hastily up the ramp.

But this is WCW. And our interruptions for tonight have not finished…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Nash.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Hall.jpg

Once again, the two cocky nWo members emerge from either side of the crowd, intent on surrounding the ring and costing Goldberg another chance at the World Heavyweight Championship. But just as Scott Hall goes to slide into the ring, he’s nailed across the side of the head by the World Heavyweight Championship belt! It’s Booker T!! Booker has left his spot on the announce table and taken out the former WCW superstar, preventing him from interjecting in the match. Kevin Nash comes around the ring to Hall’s defence, however Booker is able to fight him off too, eventually hitting Nash with a Bookend through the announce table and putting him out of commission.

Amidst all the chaos outside the ring, Flair and Goldberg continue to battle on the inside. The match reaches its conclusion when referee Charles Robinson is distracted by the Nash/Booker brawl and Ric Flair produces a pair of brass knucks from his boot. He slips them on his fingers, takes a wild swing at Goldberg, which the Animal ducks easily and counters with a Jackhammer!! From there he is able to make the cover, Robinson makes the 1-2-3, and Goldberg is off to the Great American Bash!!

Winner by pinfall: Goldberg

(83)

Booker T slides into the ring to offer Goldberg his hand in congratulations, however Goldberg just stares at the World Heavyweight Championship belt, mouths the words “Great American Bash” and departs the ringside area.

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Vince.jpg

We cut to the carpark, where a clearly disappointed Vince McMahon is getting into his limousine to depart the arena for the night. He climbs into the backseat and who should he find already sitting in the limo??

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Hogan.jpg

It’s Hulk Hogan!! Vince goes to get straight back out of the limousine, however Hogan tells him to relax, as he’s not there to hurt him. “We’ve been up and down this road many times, Vince McMahon. Between the two of us we’ve shaped the wrestling industry for the last several generations, and our impact will probably be felt for many generations to come.”

Vince just merely sneers at him “What do you want, Hogan??”

“It’s all about control, Vince. Plain and simple. The nWo is not happy with just being the big boys in WCW anymore. We want control of the whole damn wrestling world, and with the financial backing of the most powerful figure in sports entertainment today, we’re going to do just that.”

“The most powerful figure in sports entertainment?? Well that’s me!” yells Vince angrily.

“Not so, Vince. You’re pretty powerful when it comes to your own little neck of the woods, but our financial backer’s power across the whole industry makes you look like a small player, brother. And the nWo won’t stop until we control it all: WCW, the WWF, every major title in every major company. And we’re giving the call-out to our nWo brothers across the world, as you saw with our brother Syxx rejoining the fold on Monday night.”

“We can’t be stopped, Vince. Enjoy Judgment Day.”

And with those final words, Hogan gets out of the limo.

WWF Judgment Day, Sunday Week 3, May 2001

MI Ford Field (Great Lakes)

Attendance: 80,103 (sell-out)

Announcers: Jim Ross, Jerry “The King” Lawler, Paul Heyman

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/JR.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/King.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Heyman.jpg

Our show opens with the announcers welcoming everybody to a sold-out Ford Field in Michigan. Talk immediately goes to the finish of that “other” wrestling programme, and the conversation between Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon. The announce team wonder on who the nWo's financial backer could be, this so-called “most powerful figure in sports entertainment today “ and speculate on whether the nWo will make an appearance here tonight…

(80)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Austin.jpg

To a massive reaction from this large and vocal crowd, the WWF Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin comes out to the ring to talk smack about the Undertaker. He says they’ve done this dance many times before, and there’s no tricks in the Undertaker’s bag that worry him, and nothing that can’t be overcome by a “good old-fashioned ass-whooping.” He also goes on to state that the Undertaker’s “half brain-dead, medium well-done, brother” better keep his burned nose out of their match-up or he’ll get his ass handed to him as well. Finally, Austin says he has no idea what the nWo's plans for this evening are, and nor could he care, because if they think they’re going to interfere in his business than they can join the long line of people queuing up for a “Stone Cold ass-whooping!”

“And that’s the bottom line, ‘cos Stone Cold said so!!”

(92)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Vince.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Foley.jpg

We cut backstage, where Vince is standing with Commissioner Foley, complete with his silly hat. Vince asks Foley whether in his capacity as Commissioner he’s hired the extra security that should be required in order to prevent the nWo ruining tonight’s event. Foley responds by saying he thought extra security was more the kind of thing he expected from the chairman of the WWF, or perhaps it should be deferred to “the most powerful figure in sports entertainment today” instead??

This comment just angers Vince, and he storms off.

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Angle.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Benoit.jpg

Kurt Angle vs Chris Benoit

Submission Match

As to be expected from these two superb mat technicians, this bout featured great action which the crowd thoroughly enjoyed. For the first ten minutes of the match Angle and Benoit put on a superb display of holds, wrestling moves and technical finesse, before Benoit finally manages to lock Kurt Angle in a Crippler Crossface in the centre of the ring. Jim Ross mentions how surely Angle will have no choice but to tap out any moment soon, when all of a sudden…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Lesnar.jpg

A mysterious and MONSTROUS worker comes storming out to the ring, kicks Benoit, picks him up and smashes him face-first into the mat with a move that JR describes as a “spin-out fireman's carry facebuster”. Kurt Angle then grabs an almost unconscious Benoit in an Ankle Lock in the centre of the ring as this unknown man continues his attack on the Rabid Wolverine’s upper body and face.

Benoit is one tough SOB, however, refusing to tap out, until eventually referee Jim Korderas has to call for the bell as Benoit passes out from the continued assault from this monster.

Winner by “submission”: Kurt Angle

(88)

Following the match, Kurt Angle and his newfound “friend” pose in the centre of the ring. This “fearsome specimen of a human being” as Jim Ross refers to him picks up the unconscious Benoit and repeats the dose of “spin-out fireman's carry facebuster”, while the announcers speculate just who this man is, and what his relationship with Kurt Angle could possibly be.

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Raven.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/HHH.jpg

Raven vs Triple H

Intercontinental Championship Match

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/WWFIntercontinental.jpg

These two superstars held nothing back as Triple H showed once again why he’s rated by many as the best in the business today while Raven also showed he has the ability to match it with the top dogs of the industry. The offence is pretty evenly shared for the first fifteen minutes of the match before Raven cuts a break and hits Triple H with a DDT, laying him out in the centre of the ring. Raven then looks to go for the pinfall, when the music that is synonymous with interruptions in sports entertainment blasts across Ford Field…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Nash.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Hall.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Syxx.jpg

It’s Triple H’s old buddies, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and X-Pac!! The three members of the infamous group referred to as “The Kliq” stroll down to the ring, causing Raven to come across to the ropes and shout at them to back-off. This causes enough of a distraction for Triple H to hit Raven with a low blow, follow-up with a Pedigree and steal the 1-2-3.

Winner by pinfall: Triple H. Triple H makes defence number 1 of his WWF Intercontinental title.

(81)

As Triple H stands tall in the ring with his Intercontinental Championship belt held high, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and X-Pac stand at the top of the ramp clapping their hands. When Triple H finally notices them, however, he looks confused and mouths the words “What are you guys doing here?”

The announcers speculate whether this whole thing was unknown to Triple H all along or whether it is just another “elaborate plan by the nWo and their buddies.”

(60)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Jericho.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Regal.jpg

Chris Jericho vs William Regal

The announcers talk this match up as a chance for Chris Jericho to finally get his hands on William Regal in a one-on-one capacity after having Regal constantly interfering in his matches and costing him victories time after time. In the end this one didn’t disappoint as a wrestling spectacle, proving to be a great contest between two very proficient WWF superstars. Eventually Chris Jericho manages to pick up the win when he locks William Regal in a Lion Tamer after 12:11 forcing the Englishman to tap out.

Winner by submission: Chris Jericho

(80)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/HHH.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Austin.jpg

We cut backstage where Austin asks Triple H what the hell that was out there before with the nWo and his “buddies” getting involved in the Intercontinental Championship match. Triple H responds by saying he honestly has no idea what “Nash, Hall and Pac” were doing there, but he would’ve won anyway without their distraction.

Austin looks less than convinced and asks Triple H if he can rely on him to still have HIS back tonight which Triple H responds “Yeah yeah, champ. I’ll be there when the time is right.”

(100)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Kane.jpg

Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko & Perry Saturn vs Kane

Steel Cage Gauntlet Match

Kane is the first to come out to the ring and enter the steel cage. And then he waits…

And waits…

And the Radicalz never show up!! This sends Kane into a furious rage, and he absolutely tears the cage apart and then starts to demolish the ringside area as well as the announce desk. Finally, an army of security manage to forcefully restrain him and escort him out the back.

A very shaken announce team state that they have serious concerns about Kane’s ongoing mental health, which King quips “Was never that great to start with!”

(84)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Undertaker.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Trish.jpg

We now cut to our newest backstage interviewer Trish Stratus, as she is standing backstage with the Number 1 Contender for the WWF Championship, the Undertaker. She asks about whether or not he’s concerned about the New World Order making an appearance in their matchup, like they did to help Triple H retain his Intercontinental Championship. The Undertaker says he’s not scared of Austin, he’s not scared of the nWo, and he’s not scared of anybody who wants to stand in the way of him regaining the WWF Championship. He says the WWF is “his yard” and if the nWo want to bring their WCW bull**** to his yard, then they’re going to find out just exactly who the big dog is.

She then goes on to ask him about his little brother Kane’s mental state after his actions last week and earlier tonight, but he doesn’t answer. He just walks off-screen with a concerned look on his face.

D’Lo Brown vs Justin Credible vs K-Kwik vs Steve Blackman vs Grand Master Sexay vs Billy Gunn

Ultimate Jobber Match

As to be expected, this match that has some pretty good action but not much in the way of crowd heat, as these six mid to low card superstars throw absolutely everything at each other. The King mentions the fact Billy Gunn has faced a lot of jobbers lately, and tonight he’s facing a lot at once! The result was pretty predictable though, with Billy picking up the win, eliminating D’Lo Brown first, followed by K-Kwik, Justin Credible, Steve Blackman, and finally Grand Master Sexay after hitting him with the Fame-ass-er. Chyna did her usual thing at ringside throughout the match causing a constant distraction which the referee never quite noticed.

At the conclusion of this matchup the announcers wonder what’s next for Billy Gunn, and whether he’s managed to impress Commissioner Foley.

Winner by pinfall: Billy Gunn

(53)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Rock.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Trish.jpg

Trish Stratus has her second interview of the night, as she is standing with The Rock and asks him the same question she posed previously to the Undertaker, whether or not he was concerned about the nWo interfering in his match tonight with the Big Show. Rock cuts her off, saying that what the nWo do is none of his business, and they certainly don’t want him to become part of their business. He then goes on a massive rant about the Big Show, the Big Show’s weight, makes a bunch of monkey references, and finishes off by talking about smelling some cooking or something, before walking off-screen.

(79)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Faarooq.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Bradshaw.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Goodfather.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Venis.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Ivory.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Richards.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/JHardy.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/MHardy.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Lita.jpg

The A.P.A. vs. Right to Censor vs. The Hardy Boyz

WWF Tag Team Championship Three-Way Dance

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/WWFTag.jpg

The match was fast-paced and action-packed from the word go. With three competitors in the ring at all times, three competitors on the apron plus three more “helpers” outside the ring, there was always plenty going on in this one. The announcers really talked up the Hardy Boyz’ win over Austin and Triple H two weeks ago on Raw, and as the action heated up inside the ring, it all started to happen outside the ring as well. The beginning of the end happened when Steven Richards manages to take Faarooq out by ramming his head into the ringpost, which leads to Lita climbing the turnbuckle in order to attack Richards. Ivory then grabs Lita and pushes her off the edge of the ring into the concrete below, causing both the Hardy Boyz to go after Ivory outside the ring. While all this is happening, the Goodfather (as the illegal man) hits Bradshaw with a clothesline, allowing Val Venis to hit the Money Shot and pick up the victory.

And before they even knew what was going on, the Hardy Boyz had lost their title without even being pinned!!

Winner by pinfall: Right to Censor. Right to Censor win the WWF Tag Team titles.

(82)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Undertaker.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Kane.jpg

We go back to the dressing rooms where the Undertaker has managed to catch up with a visibly still shaken Kane. He asks his brother if he’s alright and he just wants to make sure he’s not going to do anything else “crazy” tonight. Kane just stares off into space, acting like the Undertaker is not even there.

The Undertaker follows this up with “Fine, just stay out of my match with Austin tonight. I’ve got this one covered,” as he walks out.

(94)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Rock.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/BigShow.jpg

The Rock vs The Big Show

This match proves to be the fantastic blockbuster everyone expects it to be, as the Big Show brings his power game to the ring and The Rock lights it up for this capacity crowd in a manner that only The Rock can. After about eighteen minutes of fantastic action, this match comes to its thrilling conclusion when The Rock whips the Big Show into referee Mike Chioda, causing the ref to spill out of the ring and knock himself out. The Rock then follows up with a Rock Bottom and was setting himself up for the People’s Elbow when…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Nash.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Hogan.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Hall.jpg

It’s the nWo! Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall come swarming out of the crowd, viciously attacking The Rock and beating him down in the centre of the ring. Nash hits The Rock with a Jacknife Powerbomb; Hogan follows up with the Big Leg Drop before Big Show picks The Rock up and hits him with a thunderous Show Stopper. Meanwhile, Scott Hall wakes the referee up and slides him into the ring. Mike Chioda counts the “1-2-3” while Jim Ross yells “Not like this, not like this!!”

Winner by pinfall: The Big Show

(82)

The nWo and The Big Show retreat to the top of the ramp, where they stand with their arms raised triumphantly while the crowd boos them heavily.

(74)

The Rock staggers groggily to his feet in the ring, looks up at the nWo, shakes himself off and charges straight up the ramp towards them. He reaches Hulk Hogan first and begins to lay the smack down... that is until Big Show, Nash and Hall all grab him and start to beat him down once again. Finally, Big Show throws The Rock off the edge of the stage and through a sound table down below.

It seems the nWo has made their indelible mark on the World Wrestling Federation. What more is there to come??

(89)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Undertaker.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Austin.jpg

The Undertaker vs Steve Austin

WWF Championship Match

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/WWF-1.jpg

After the action seen in The Rock and Big Show semi-Main Event, the crowd here at Ford Field can only be described as sizzling as the matchup between Stone Cold Steve Austin and the Undertaker lives up to its expectations and then some! These two superstars rated by many as the greatest wrestlers in the history of sports entertainment battle backwards and forwards throughout the ring and ringside area for the best part of twenty-five minutes before the Undertaker finally manages to gain the ascendancy and put Austin away with a Chokeslam. The Undertaker then runs his finger across his throat, signifying that the end is indeed near for the WWF Champion.

It’s at this point in time, however…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Kane.jpg

Out strides the Undertaker’s little brother Kane!! Referee Earl Hebner runs up the ramp to try and cut Kane off at the pass, however the Big Red Machine swats him away into the barricade like a fly. Kane climbs into the ring where Steve Austin is lying lifeless as the Undertaker is seen to be mouthing the words “Why are you here??” Kane then repeats the Undertaker’s throat cutting gesture before he grabs the American Badass’ throat himself! The look on the Undertaker’s face is pure shock as his brother lifts him up and delivers a massive Chokeslam! Kane then stands over the Undertaker’s prone body as Austin comes to and realises what has happened. The Texas Rattlesnake then rolls out of the ring, grabs Earl Hebner, wakes him up, and frogmarches him back to the ring. He then pins the Undertaker and picks up the victory with Kane continuing to watch on impassively.

Winner by pinfall: Steve Austin. Austin makes defence number 1 of his WWF Championship.

(99)

Austin then celebrates with his title on all four turnbuckles as Kane remains motionless in the ring looking at his brother. The WWF Champion then departs the ringside area as the Undertaker regains consciousness and looks up at his brother. This springs Kane into life again, as he grabs the Undertaker, picks him up, and hits him with a Tombstone Piledriver.

Kane then raises his arms to the sky and brings up his pillars of flame as the commentators question what in the hell we’ve witnessed here tonight. As we go off the air Paul Heyman points out that amongst all of this chaos and confusion, Austin’s “so-called partner” Triple H was nowhere to be seen.

From the desk of Vince McMahon: Well after the disappointment that was Slamboree, I was absolutely blown away by the success of Judgment Day! The ratings we got for the entire show pleasantly surprised the hell out of me, and this was largely due to the massive blockbuster that was the Undertaker vs Stone Cold Steve Austin for the WWF Championship. Interestingly, I’d originally planned to have the Undertaker win that matchup by DQ after Kane “accidentally” hit him, however Austin’s ego wouldn’t have a bar of it. He was prepared to lose the match only if I let him dominate for the majority of it and I kept him strong for the finish, but that really didn’t mesh well with the story I was trying to tell. Plus, that would’ve put a big dint in the ratings in what will probably go down as one of the matches of the year. So I’m happy with the final outcome, and we’re building for much bigger things to come…

As for the Hardy Boyz dropping the titles to Right to Censor, I can honestly say I’m as surprised by that as anyone is. I actually left that one up to the road agents for the match, Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson, and working with the wrestlers in this matchup that’s the outcome they all went for. Still, it’s a story I can work with, and build on, and it means Right to Censor is due to get some much-needed midcard exposure.

In our relentless pursuit of cleaning up the WWE, we’ve had a few more wrestlers test positive to banned substances, namely Mike Awesome, Val Venis and Grandmaster Sexay. Continuing with my usual trend I’ve taken the fatherly approach with all three, however if I start to get some repeat offenders I may have to be a bit more strict on some of these guys. The good news to come out of this, however, is that I have a very positive backstage image, and I’m hoping to give the WCW guys a motivational speech before The Great American Bash in order to really get them fired up for the event.

WWF RAW IS WAR, Monday Week 4, May 2001

Stan Sheriff Center (Hawaii)

Attendance: 9,282

Announcers: Jim Ross, Jerry “The King” Lawler, Paul Heyman

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/JR.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/King.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Heyman.jpg

Our announcers welcome everybody to Monday Night Raw coming live from sunny Hawaii. They discuss what a huge event Judgment Day was, particularly the incredible WWF Championship matchup between The Undertaker and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Paul Heyman then drops the bombshell that after tonight he will be retiring from the announce table to pursue “other interests in sports entertainment.”

(83)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Vince.jpg

The boss of the World Wrestling Federation comes out and wastes no time grabbing a microphone. Vince mentions what a great PPV Judgment Day was, particularly in comparison to the rubbish that WCW served up with Slamboree, but says his primary reason for being out here first and foremost is to announce the King of the Ring tournament, which will be taking place throughout the month of June. He talks up the importance of this year’s tournament, stating that the winner will get a WWF Championship shot at Summerslam.

He then moves on to Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn’s “no-show” of Judgment Day, where they failed to appear in their scheduled Steel Cage Gauntlet match with Kane. He says that he has now lodged an official breach of contract, and he expects the full strength of the law to come down on them, which will in the end cost them their careers, their reputations, as well as their livelihoods.

(96)

He then calls out the Intercontinental Champion, Triple H, to discuss the “nWo situation”.

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/HHH.jpg

Triple H comes out to the ring, title draped over his shoulder, looking as cocky as ever. Vince wastes no time quizzing him directly about the nWo, saying that he wouldn’t have won his matchup without them and wondering just where Triple H’s allegiances lie. Triple H goes on to categorically state that he had no idea the nWo was going to show up, he’s had no contact with any of those guys in almost a year now, and “quite frankly” he would’ve won that matchup with or without their interference.

Vince tells Triple H that’s good, because he has another Intercontinental title match tonight against Chris Jericho, and if the nWo get involved in the match in any way, shape or form, he will be stripped of his title.

(100)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Rock.jpg

The Rock comes striding out to the ring, instantly getting in Triple H’s face, demanding to know what he and his buddies are up to and why The Rock shouldn’t kick his candy ass right here, right now. Triple H yawns and calmly tries to tell The Rock that he’s been over this countless times already, he has nothing to do with the nWo!! The Rock then turns on Vince and says he wants “the Big Show’s big fat monkey ass”, right here tonight, which gets a huge pop from this 9,000-strong crowd. Vince says after the events of last night he’d be happy to give The Rock his wishes, however… Big Show’s got the night off tonight. And there’s nothing he can do about it, as Show put in for this night off months in advance, and what sort of boss would he be to cancel a worker’s leave at such short notice?

The causes both The Rock and Triple H to smirk just a little as we cut to commercial.

(89)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Raven.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Regal.jpg

Raven vs. William Regal

The announcers talk up how much of a good showing Raven put against Triple H at Judgment day and just how close he got to winning the Intercontinental Championship. Jim Ross goes as far as to say he would’ve won it if it weren’t for the actions of “those damn nWo!!" The bout itself features great action and average heat, with Raven ending with defeating William Regal in 8:07 by pinfall after hitting him with a Piledriver.

Winner by pinfall: Raven

(71)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/JHardy.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/MHardy.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Foley.jpg

The Hardy Boyz catch up with Commissioner Foley in his “office” (he’s actually sitting behind a large cardboard box in the carpark) to complain that they lost their newly won WWF Tag Team titles at Judgment Day to Right to Censor with either of them even being pinned. Foley agrees that this isn’t entirely fair, so he sets up a rematch for tonight between the Hardys and Right to Censor for the WWF Tag Team Championship.

The Hardys look pleased, but focussed.

(61)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Bradshaw.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Faarooq.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/DLo.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Credible.jpg

The A.P.A. vs. D'Lo Brown and Justin Credible

The announce team talk this contest up as the A.P.A.’s chance at rebuilding their credibility and momentum after finishing a clear third in the WWF Tag Team Championship three-way dance at Judgment Day. And they go a long way towards gaining their lost credibility and standing in the WWF tag team division as they completely dominate the makeshift team of D’Lo and Justin Credible from pillar to post. This one ends relatively quickly after Bradshaw hits D’Lo with a Clothesline From Hell, almost taking his head off.

Winner by pinfall: The A.P.A.

(50)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Angle.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Trish.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Lesnar.jpg

We go backstage now to Trish Stratus who is standing by with Kurt Angle and his new “friend”, the monster from Judgment Day who helped him take out Chris Benoit. Angle says that as an Olympic gold medallist who’s constantly having to deal with petty jealousy and sneak attacks, he has decided to hire himself a personal bodyguard, and he’d like to introduce Brock Lesnar, or as he likes to put it, his new “insurance policy”. He says that no longer will he have to walk around the WWF backstage area constantly looking over his shoulder, which frankly is an unsafe work environment, but just as he’s saying these words…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Benoit.jpg

It’s Chris Benoit!! Benoit comes flying out of nowhere and starts beating into Kurt Angle, an attack that literally only lasts thirty seconds before Angle’s insurance policy, Brock Lesnar, grabs Benoit and drives him headfirst into a cement wall!! He then picks him up, and delivers the same devastating move from Judgment Day (JR refers to it as an F5) to the concrete, leaving Benoit completely destroyed.

Kurt Angle smirks, repeating the words “insurance policy”, as he and Brock move off-screen.

(74)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Kane.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/KKwik.jpg

Kane vs. K-Kwik

This match is billed by the announcers as a chance for Kane to take out some of his pent-up aggression that’s been plaguing him over the last few weeks, as the situation between he and his brother reached boiling point. They also discuss the reasoning behind Kane’s vicious attack on the Undertaker at Judgment Day, effectively costing him any chance of winning the WWF Championship. The match itself proves to be very short, as Kane toys with K-Kwik for less than five minutes before putting him away with a brutal Choke Slam.

Winner by pinfall: Kane

(74)

As Kane gets to his feet after making the pinfall, however…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Undertaker.jpg

It’s the Undertaker!! The Big Red Machine’s fired up older brother comes hurtling into the ring and takes it to Kane, hitting with a flurry of rights and lefts. Kane wants nothing to do with his brother’s fury, however, quickly exiting the ring and backing up the ramp to safety. The Undertaker stands in the middle of the ring, performing his throat-slashing gesture as the announcers reiterate that this is far from over between these two.

(92)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/HHH.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Austin.jpg

Once again Austin is backstage with Triple H and questioning where his loyalties lie. Triple H says he’s tired of every man and his dog accusing him of siding with the nWo when he seriously had no idea they were even there. Austin says that’s all well and good, but where was he at Judgment Day in his match with the Undertaker when he needed backup.

Triple H smirks and replies with “You were fine out there, Champ. From what I could see you had all the help in the world from Kane.” Austin looks furious as Triple H walks out.

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/JHardy.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/MHardy.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Goodfather.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Venis.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Ivory.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Richards.jpg

The Hardy Boyz vs. Right to Censor

[b}WWF Tag Team Championship Match [/b]

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/WWFTag.jpg

As this match kicks off with some high energy offence from Jeff Hardy on Val Venis, the announcers mention that Lita is still recovering after last night’s “vicious” attack from Ivory. This match proves to be another very good affair between two fantastic tag teams, but in the end the numbers advantage proves to be the deciding factor as Matt Hardy hits the Goodfather with a Twist of Fate, setting himself up to grab the pinfall. At this point in time, Steven Richards, Val Venis and Ivory all rush the ring and start attacking Matt, leaving Chad Patton with no alternative but to go for the bell and award the Hardy Boyz victory by DQ.

Jeff comes in to his brother’s defence, but Right to Censor quickly vacate the ring and head back up the ramp with smug looks on their faces and the WWF Tag Team titles still safely in their possession.

Winner by disqualification: The Hardy Boyz. Right to Censor retains the WWF Tag Team titles.

(65)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/BillyGunn.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Chyna.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Foley.jpg

Billy Gunn and Chyna approach Commissioner Foley in his office who tells them both to “take a seat” on one of the milk crates he has lying around. Billy asks Mick about his chances of some serious competition now after winning the Ultimate Jobber match at Judgment Day. Foley says he’s thought about it, and he agrees that Billy Gunn should be in the race for one of the titles in the World Wrestling Federation, however he’s not quite at the level required for the Intercontinental or WWF Championship pictures. He goes on to say that the Hardcore title is currently MIA with the European title now strapped around the waist of “Boxcar Harry”. All that leaves is the WWF Tag Team titles. So he tells Billy Gunn that if he can find himself a partner, and if they can win a match against another established tag team in the WWF, then he’ll give them a tag team title shot.

Billy looks thoughtful, and accepts.

(66)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Jericho.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/HHH.jpg

Chris Jericho vs. Triple H

WWF Intercontinental Championship Match

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/WWFIntercontinental.jpg

As we come into this matchup, Paul Heyman reiterates that this will be his last match on the announce desk, and says he’s thoroughly enjoyed working with JR and the King. They say they have enjoyed working with him too, although JR could be more convincing. King asks him what he’ll be up to from here, to which Heyman cryptically replies “Oh don’t worry King, you’ll be seeing a LOT more of me.”

The match itself proves to be an excellent in-ring contest with great heat from the audience, as these two amazing competitors put on a real show. The match hasn’t been going on for long, however, before…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Austin.jpg

Steve Austin comes out with a steel chair, and sets it up on the entrance ramp, as he seems to be here to scout out the action. The match goes the distance however, until about the sixteen minute mark when Jericho attempts to hit the Lionsault on a prone Triple H, who manages to get his knees up, blocking Jericho’s assault. From there, it was all academic as the Game picks Jericho up, gives him a Pedigree and gets the pinfall for a hard-fought victory.

Winner by pinfall: Triple H. Triple H makes defence number 2 of his WWF Intercontinental title.

(82)

As Triple H stands triumphantly in the ring with his title held high, the familiar music of the nWo hits.

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Nash.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Hogan.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Hall.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Syxx.jpg

The four members of the nWo come out, applauding Triple H’s victory. Triple H’s close buddies, Nash, Hall and X-Pac start to come down to the ring, however they are stopped by Austin, who gives them an absolute mouthful. This causes Triple H to exit the ring and stand between Austin and the other Kliq members, obviously trying to defuse a very volatile situation.

(84)

Until all of a sudden, at the top of the ramp…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Rock.jpg

It’s The Rock! And he’s getting himself a piece of Hulk Hogan!! With the rest of the nWo members down at ringside in an altercation with Austin, the People’s Champion takes it to Hogan, laying into him with massive punches, as only The Rock can. This causes Hogan to flee the arena, with The Rock hot on his tail as the rest of the nWo members charge up the ramp after the two superstars.

Our broadcast goes off the air with the words of Jim Ross yelling that “Just maybe, Hulk Hogan has received a taste of his own medicine here tonight!!”

WCW Thunder, Thursday Week 4, May 2001

Rupp Arena, Kentucky (South East)

Attendance: 23,346

Announcers: Mike Tenay, Tony Schiavone, Dusty Rhodes

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Nash.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Hogan.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Hall.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Syxx.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/BigShow.jpg

Before our announce team can even welcome us to tonight’s edition of Thunder, the nWo music hits, as they come out to the ring, looking as cocky and confident as ever before. The announcers make note that Hulk Hogan appears to be sporting a black eye, as Mike Tenay points out that this is the first time the Giant has been seen in a WCW ring in over three years.

(66)

Hogan grabs the microphone and says how it’s great to welcome their brother, the Giant, back into the nWo family. He says that in recent weeks, the Giant and Syxx have both responded to Hogan’s official call to arms for all of their nWo brothers out there, at which point Kevin Nash grabs the microphone and says “to all of ANY of our brothers out there.” Hogan looks slightly annoyed by this interruption, but continues on a rant about The Rock, and how he “got lucky” scoring a black eye on the legend that is Hulk Hogan, and how he’ll be getting his own back real soon.

Hogan then goes on to say that the nWo is back, and stronger than it’s ever been before, and ready to take control of all of Sports Entertainment in one fell swoop, starting tonight with Thursday Thunder.

(92)

As he’s saying these words, the boss’ music hits.

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Shane.jpg

Shane McMahon comes out, and says "No, no, no you're not, you’re not taking over anything tonight." He says that WCW went down this road before back when Eric Bischoff was in charge and there’s no way this kind of rubbish will be happening on his watch. He then calls for security, and a dozen security guards storm the ring in order to displace the nWo from their position in the centre of the ring. The nWo guys fight back, however, and easily take out Shane’s security guards, throwing them one by one out of the ring.

And just when it looks like the nWo have got their wish, and in fact HAVE managed to take over Thunder… Hulk Hogan clicks his fingers and they abruptly leave. The announcers question in shock what all this was about, and Dusty Rhodes says “It’s just more mind games from Hulk Hogan, putting the entire wrestling world on notice.”

(72)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Morrus.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Awesome.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Devon.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Ray.jpg

Hugh Morrus and Mike Awesome vs. Team 3D

WCW Tag Team Championship Match

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/WCWTag.jpg

Our opening match of the night sees Team 3D (as they’re now apparently being called) defending their WCW Tag Team titles against Hugh Morrus and Mike Awesome. As has been the complaint of Team 3D in recent weeks, the tag team division in WCW is seriously lacking, and this match proves to be no different, as our tag team champs but away the makeshift team of Morrus and Awesome quite easily. After about seven minutes Brother Ray hits Hugh Morrus with a Power Bomb and picks up the victory by pinfall.

Winners by pinfall: Team 3D. Team 3D make defence number 2 of their WCW Tag Team titles.

(64)

Brother Ray (as he’s now apparently being called due to some kind of legal wrangling with the WWF) then gets on the microphone and reiterates his mantra from last week, about how the tag team division at WCW stinks and how there’s absolutely zero competition for a twelve time world champion tag team such as himself and “Brother Devon”…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Steiner.jpg

Scott Steiner’s apparently heard enough! He comes barrelling out and asks them if they think being twelve time tag team champions means anything to him. He also asks them if they really think they’re that much greater than any other team currently doing the rounds. When Brother Ray gives a resounding “YES” to both questions, Steiner responds with “Then let me introduce you to the answer to all of your current dilemmas…”

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/RSteiner.jpg

It’s Scott Steiner’s brother Rick!! Scott Steiner goes on to say that Team 3D might be twelve time world tag team champions, however he and his brother are eight time world champions as well as six time holders of the championship belts Team 3D currently have slung over their shoulders. If it’s competition they want, then competition is standing right in front of them right now!

Brother Ray laughs at this and tells the Steiner Brothers to “Go back to the 20th century!! Come and see us for a title shot when you’ve done something this millennium!!”

(73)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Chavo.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Eddie.jpg

We cut backstage where Chavo Guerrero once again has his Uncle Eddie bailed up. Chavo says he has a tag team matchup tonight against the Filthy Animals and he’d be honoured to have his uncle as his tag team partner. Eddie responds saying that he’d love to help his nephew out, however due to “all this contractual rubbish” with the WWF, he can’t legally appear in a match for WCW.

This just seems to infuriate Chavo, who stalks away.

(40)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Goldberg.jpg

The animal Goldberg come out and wastes no time at all in calling out the World Heavyweight Champion, Booker T…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Booker.jpg

Booker comes out and Goldberg immediately gets in his face, saying even though he helped him out last week, he still doesn’t trust him. Booker says it doesn’t matters whether he trusts him or not, all that matters is their World Heavyweight Championship match at Great American Bash. Goldberg asks him why wait until the Bash, how about they get it on right here tonight?

Booker T rips off his shirt and says “Why don’t we??”

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Shane.jpg

Shane comes out and tells them both to cool it. He says there’ll be no such behaviour as this prior to the Great American Bash, where they can then proceed to legally beat the holy hell out of each other. He then goes on to inform them they'll be partners tonight against KroniK, so they better get on the same page, and pretty damn quickly. Goldberg looks less than thrilled by this prospect, as it’s clear all he wants to do is fight.

(80)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Kidman.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Rey.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Konnan.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Chavo.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Storm.jpg

The Filthy Animals vs. Chavo Guerrero Jr. and Lance Storm

In the end it appears that Chavo managed to convince Lance Storm to partner with him tonight against the Filthy Animals. With the competitors in this match this one was always going to be relatively fast paced and action packed. It’s pretty clear from the word go that Rey wants to get his hands on Chavo, however Chavo manages to tag out every time Rey tags in. In the end, Rey Mysterio picks up the win when Chavo jumps off the apron and starts walking off up the ramp, leaving his partner stranded as Rey hits the 619 and picks up the pinfall.

Winners by pinfall: The Filthy Animals

(59)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Flair.jpg

Flair comes out to the ring and calls out Sting. He says he’s tired of all the lurking in shadows and sneak attacks from the “so-called icon of WCW” as he’s cost him his opportunity at the World Heavyweight Championship time and time again.

The crowd waits in anticipation, and they don’t have to wait long…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Sting.jpg

It’s Sting!! Sting comes out to the ring and grabs a microphone. He tells Flair all of his actions over the past month have had one simple reason: respect. He has no respect for Ric Flair as a person anymore after his recent behaviour regarding his WCW contract. He states that Flair, among others, had the perfect opportunity to start up with the new WCW, put “all that other rubbish behind us”, and take the company to heights it had never before experienced. But instead, Flair and Steiner chose to sit at home, argue about their contracts, and only agreed to wrestle when they were handed opportunities on a platter. And that’s why he has blocked every opportunity Ric Flair has had recently at regaining the World Heavyweight Championship.

Sting finishes up with “You want a shot at the title?? You’ve gotta come through me first.” With that, he drops the microphone and begins to head back up the ramp.

“Go through you first??” Flair screams, spitting everywhere like only Ric Flair can, “You got it buddy!! You and me, Great American Bash, let’s settle this once and for all!!”

(84)

Torrie and Stacy are standing backstage with the Radicalz and ask them aboutual the contract situation with the WWF and whether they are concerned that Vince has now threatened legal action for their no show at Judgment Day. Eddie Guerrero laughs and says they’re not worried about Vince's "breach of contract" at all, as they all have doctor’s certificates saying that none of them are fit to compete! Also, they’re not breaking any rules by appearing on Thunder in a non-wrestling capacity, so according to Eddie’s lawyer, Vince doesn’t have a leg to stand on…

(65)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Kanyon.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/DDP.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Jarrett.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Buff.jpg

Kanyon and Diamond Dallas Page vs. Jeff Jarrett and Buff Bagwell

The announcers talk this match up as being potentially the match of the night, and in hindsight it turns out they were right! All four of these fantastic WCW superstars go to and fro for the best part of ten minutes, until Kanyon takes a fall from the apron after an Irish Whip from Jeff Jarrett. As DDP continues to battle on against Buff Bagwell in the ring, Kanyon gets jumped on the outside of the ring, by none other than…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Edge.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Christian.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Rhyno.jpg

Edge, Christian and Rhyno!! In the meantime, however, DDP manages to hit Buff Bagwell with a Diamond Cutter, knock Jeff Jarrett off the side of the apron, and pin Bagwell for the victory.

Winners by pinfall: DDP and Kanyon

(76)

After the matchup, DDP jumps out of the ring and comes to the rescue of Kanyon, who is battling valiantly against Edge, Christian and Rhyno. He manages to help Kanyon take out the three WWF superstars, and then climbs back into the ring to celebrate, until…

(58)

CRASH!!

For the third time in three weeks, Jeff Jarrett smashes a guitar over Diamond Dallas Page’s head, laying him out. Kanyon slides into the ring to protect his partner, however the damage has already been done, and Jarrett backs up the ramp, smashed guitar in hand, taunting the United States Champion as he goes.

Booker T and Goldberg vs. KroniK

This brings us to our Main Event of the evening, as our unlikely tag team of the Number 1 Contender Goldberg and the World Heavyweight Champion Booker T go head to head with tough guys KroniK. Despite their differences and obvious mistrust of each other, Booker and Goldberg are simply too powerful for KroniK as Goldberg ends up grabbing the victory over Brian Adams after hitting a Spear. As far as Main Events go, this one will go down as one of the more forgettable ones of recent history.

Winners by pinfall: Booker T and Goldberg

It was after the match, however, when business really begins to heat up…

No sooner has the bell rang, when Goldberg and Booker get surrounded by the nWo outside the ring. The two WCW superstars look primed to fight, however, as nWo members corner them, standing outside the ring on all four sides.

(83)

Hulk Hogan grabs the microphone and tells them both to relax, they aren’t here looking for a fight tonight. He just wanted to let them both know that regardless of who wins their matchup at Great American Bash, he’ll be coming for “his” World Heavyweight Championship “real soon, brothers”, so they’ll only be keeping it warm for him.

“Oh yeah, and one more thing…”

(100)

All of a sudden the nWo attacks!! Nash, Hall, Syxx and the Giant flood the ring from all sides to attack Booker and Goldberg, who fight back ferociously, but in the end the numbers game takes it toll and the nWo starts to beat them down in opposite corners of the ring.

But help is not far away…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Rock.jpg

It’s The Rock!! The Rock is here in WCW for the first time in history!! And the self-proclaimed People’s Champion of the WWF wastes no time coming to the ring and taking it to the nWo members, giving a Rock Bottom to Syxx, a DDT to Hall and then a Flying Clothesline to take Kevin Nash off his feet. He then stands eye to eye (almost) with the Giant, just as Goldberg comes flashing out of nowhere to hit the seven foot monster with a Spear!! Booker is back to his feet now and all three of them stare triumphantly at Hogan, who starts backing up the ramp slowly.

It’s obvious Hogan doesn’t want anything to do with The Rock, as The Rock picks Syxx up and gives him another Rock Bottom for good measure.

Really enjoying this, you've done some great shows already

Cheers Daulten! I really feel like the first month of a diary (or any TEW mod for that matter) is really all about setting everything up, getting teams/stables/wrestlers characters & alignments just how you want them before you really get into it

I've loved the first month too, however hopefully the best is still to come...
