WWF RAW IS WAR, Monday Week 1, June 2001

Idaho Center Arena (North West)

Attendance: 12,279 (sell-out)

Announcers: Jim Ross, Jerry “The King” Lawler

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/JR.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/King.jpg

Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to this sold out Idaho Center Arena, and promise we’re going to have a fantastic show tonight, as we have our first couple of King of the Ring qualifying matches. JR reminds us that the winner of the King of the Ring will get a WWF Championship title shot at Summerslam, meaning this year’s crown is much sought after for Main Eventers and upcoming superstars alike…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Jericho.jpg

Chris Jericho strides out and instead of heading to the ring makes a detour and goes to the announce desk instead. He picks up a headset and tells JR and King that seeing as Paul Heyman has vacated the desk he’ll fill in tonight, and teach them both a thing or two about colour commentary…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Rock.jpg

The Rock comes out to a tremendous ovation and wastes no time talking about how he’s going to win the King of the Ring tournament and go on to headline Summerslam and once again be the WWF Champion… the People’s Champion. He then goes on to say how he took the fight to the nWo on Thunder Thursday night, and how he’s not worried about their numbers advantage when he has the millions (and millions) of The Rock’s fans with him everywhere he goes. This gets another big pop from the crowd, however not everybody is impressed by The Rock’s latest actions…

(98)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Vince.jpg

Vince comes out to the ring and he’s clearly annoyed at The Rock. He says that tonight he’ll be drawing the first two qualifying matches for the King of the Ring tournament in just a few minutes, however first of all he has to reprimand The Rock for his actions on Thursday night. Now, just because there’s nothing in any WWF superstar’s contract preventing them showing up on WCW provided they don’t compete, it’s a bad look and one that gives his competition unnecessary publicity. So, while he can’t punish The Rock contractually for his actions, he can indeed punish him in this very ring, tonight. So tonight The Rock will be facing Right to Censor (namely Steven Richards and the WWF Tag Team Champions Val Venis and the Goodfather) in a handicap Street Fight match to perhaps teach him to be a little more thoughtful in how his actions affect the WWF in the future.

The Rock grabs the mic and says he’s used to fighting on the wrong side of the numbers advantage and to Steven Richards and his pair of tie-wearing jabronis; he has only one thing to say “Just… bring it!”

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Kane.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Blackman.jpg

Kane vs Steve Blackman

The announcers talk up Kane’s recent actions, particularly in regards to his brother the Undertaker, as being extremely erratic and completely out of control. Chris Jericho insinuates that this is what happens when a seven foot-giant hasn’t had any “out of the ring action” in years. In the end, the match is a short one, as Kane totally dominates Steve Blackman, making the Lethal Weapon look anything but. After just short of five minutes Kane hits Blackman with a Chokeslam and that’s all she wrote.

Winner by pinfall: Kane

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Vince.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/JHardy.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/MHardy.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Credible.jpg

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Bradshaw.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Faarooq.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Regal.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/DLo.jpg

We cut to the backstage area where Vince is surrounded by a locker room full of midcard and lower card superstars. Next to him is a barrel full of golden balls. He says that in order to make the 2001 King of the Ring tournament fair and balanced he’s had every superstar with a WWF contract (excluding the champion, Stone Cold Steve Austin) added to the draw. He states that he’s about to draw the competitors for the first two qualifying matches, as the superstars all gather round him eagerly.

“So the first King of the Ring qualifying match will be between… Justin Credible… and… Matt Hardy!!”

Justin Credible looks absolutely over the moon to be getting a shot at the King of the Ring tournament (and ultimately the WWF Championship), while Matt Hardy just nods his head, looking focussed as his brother Jeff slaps him on the back in congratulations.

“And for tonight’s second King of the Ring qualifying matchup, we’ll be having Raven… up against… Scott Hall?? What?? There must be some sort of mistake. I’ll draw again… Kurt Angle!! The second qualifying match for the King of the Ring will be Raven vs Kurt Angle!”

(77)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/BigShow.jpg

As the WWF superstars begin to disperse, Vince catches sight of the Big Show leaning up against the wall, and questions him about his actions recently, joining back up with his nWo “buddies” and even appearing on WCW Thunder on Thursday night.

Big Show just gives a cheeky grin and says “That wasn’t me, Vince. That was the Giant!”

This sends Vince into a rage and he says Big Show’s actions cannot be allowed to go unpunished, just like those of The Rock. In fact, he’s adding Big Show to the Street Fight handicap match against Right to Censor as The Rock’s partner!! Big Show does NOT look impressed.

JR questions whether The Rock and Big Show, who have had such a volatile history together, can coexist as partners in the face of a Street Fight against the “rough and tough” trio from Right to Censor, who will most certainly be on the same page. Jericho quips “I’m not sure they can, but it’s going to be a hell of a lot of fun finding out!”

(92)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/BillyGunn.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Foley.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Chyna.jpg

Billy Gunn finds Commissioner Foley backstage and asks him if his offer for a tag team title shot stills stands if he can find a partner. Foley says it still stands, provided he finds a partner AND they beat a team of his choice tonight. Billy reveals that his tag team partner is a person he’d rather have beside him in the trenches more than any other man (or woman) on the roster. That’s right, his tag team partner is none other than… Chyna!

Foley says that’s great, as they’ll be fighting right now, and they’ll be facing Grandmaster Sexay and his partner… the returning RIKISHI!!

(68)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/BillyGunn.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Chyna.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Rikishi.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Sexay.jpg

Billy Gunn and Chyna vs. Rikishi and Grand Master Sexay

JR talks about up how impressive Billy’s form has been over the last month, and how formidable Chyna makes as a tag team partner. The King talks about how underrated Grandmaster Sexay is (surprise surprise) and how having Rikishi back by his side should make him unstoppable. Jericho just talks about how big Rikishi’s ass is and makes questionable references to Chyna’s gender. In the match itself, Billy Gunn is super impressive; taking it right to Grandmaster Sexay, but in the end Chyna ends up in the ring with Rikishi and just can’t compete with his power. The big Samoan ends up giving Chyna a Samoan Drop over the top rope to the cement below, and the two members of Too Cool pick up the victory by count-out.

Winner by count-out: Rikishi and Grand Master Sexay

(59)

After the matchup, as Chyna is still down and out and isn’t moving, Billy Gunn signals for the EMTs and they end up taking her out on a stretcher. Billy appears to be beside himself with concern as the announcers note that it appears like she has damaged her neck.

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Undertaker.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Foley.jpg

The Undertaker comes out to the ring and gives a promo on Steve Austin, saying that he would now be the WWF Champion if it weren’t for the actions of his little brother Kane at Judgment Day. Commissioner Foley appears at the top of the ramp and agrees with what the Undertaker is saying, and decides to grant him a WWF Championship rematch against Austin at King of the Ring.

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Kane.jpg

The Undertaker seems satisfied with this, but as he’s leaving ringside, he is blindsided by Kane once again! Undertaker fights back, however, and the two go toe to toe before referees and road agents flood the ringside area and pull the two apart.

JR questions how on earth we can have a WWF Championship matchup while the Big Red Machine keeps getting involved.

(87)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Rock.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Trish.jpg

We head backstage now to Trish Stratus who is standing by with none other than the People’s Champion himself…. The Rock!! She asks him his thoughts going in to tonight’s Street Fight handicap match against Right to Censor and whether or not he and the Big Show can coexist out there. The Rock says there’s no doubt in his mind that he cannot coexist with “that 500 pounds of monkey crap” and as far as he’s concerned it’ll be four on one out there tonight.

(66)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Credible.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/MHardy.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/JHardy.jpg

Justin Credible vs. Matt Hardy

King of the Ring Qualifier

The opening matchup of the 2001 King of the Ring tournament proves to be a very competitive one between two superstars many esteemed judges rate as having big futures in the industry. With Lita still absent from the injury she sustained at the hands of Ivory at Judgment Day, Matt Hardy is accompanied to ringside by his brother Jeff, although he doesn’t get involved in the matchup at all. Despite the match being fairly evenly contested, it is only a short one, as after about five minutes Matt Hardy manages to hit a Twist of Fate on Justin Credible and pick up the pinfall. The Hardy Boyz celebrate in the ring as Matt Hardy is going to the King of the Ring finals!

Winner by pinfall: Matt Hardy. Matt Hardy qualifies for the quarter finals of the King of the Ring tournament.

(58)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/HHH.jpg

Triple H comes to the top of the ramp and looks down at the Hardy Boyz in the ring. He reminds them and the world that he is the game and officially puts Matt Hardy and the rest of the WWF on notice. He says he will win the King of the Ring tournament and there’s not a damn thing anybody can do about it.

He then has a swig out of his water bottle, spits it everywhere and heads backstage…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Austin.jpg

…directly into the path of Stone Cold Steve Austin! The WWF Champion wants to know just what exactly Triple H is doing, and when Hunter responds with “I’m going to win the King of the Ring”, Austin asks if he really wants to come up against him at Summerslam. He asks him “what about our pact?”

Triple H tells him to relax, and then with a smirk, adds “You might not even be the WWF Champion by the time Summerslam rolls around, not if the Undertaker has his way.”

He continues past Austin, leaving him alone in the corridor, looking absolutely furious.

(92)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Raven.jpg

Raven comes out to the ring in preparation for his match against Kurt Angle and says that he’s going to beat Angle tonight, go on to win the King of the Ring tournament and from there head to Summerslam to defeat whoever the WWF Champion is.

(74)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Raven.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Angle.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Lesnar.jpg

Raven vs. Kurt Angle

King of the Ring Qualifier

The action in this matchup proves to be fairly hard and fast as Kurt Angle tries to outwrestle his opponent technically whereas Raven just straight-out wants to brawl. The announcers keep commenting on the “monster” Brock Lesnar standing at ringside, and even Chris Jericho says that he’s never seen such a ferocious looking specimen. After these two have been going hammer and tongs for about ten minutes, Raven starts to get the upper hand over his opponent, as his smash-mouth style is clearly starting to wear the Olympic gold medallist down. Angle manages to catch a break, however, when he stumbles into Raven, pushing him into referee Earl Hebner and knocking him out of the ring.

It’s at this point in time that Brock Lesnar springs into action, climbing into the ring and heading straight for Raven, who sees him coming and starts to throw furious lefts and rights at the man mountain. Lesnar easily blocks all of Raven’s attacks, before picking him up on his shoulders and delivering a ring-shaking F5. He then slides back out of the ring, wakes up the referee and throws him back in.

Angle makes the pin, Hebner makes the count, and Kurt Angle is going to the King of the Ring finals!

Winner by pinfall: Kurt Angle. Kurt Angle qualifies for the quarter finals of the King of the Ring tournament.

(84)

After the match, Lesnar comes back into the ring, and he and Angle begin to put the hurt on Raven, much like we’ve seen them do to Chris Benoit over the last few weeks. They finish off with Lesnar giving Raven a second F5, before the two leave the ringside area, Kurt Angle looking mighty pleased with himself.

(69)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/BigShow.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Rock.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Goodfather.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Richards.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Venis.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Ivory.jpg

The Rock and Big Show vs. Right to Censor

A match between five of the best natural brawlers in the WWF proves to be nothing short of a “good old fashioned slobberknocker”. As was expected, Big Show and The Rock display absolutely no team work together, and with all five participants in this matchup in the ring at the same time, they basically take turns either being double-teamed or facing the third member of Right to Censor one-on-one. Ivory proves to be fairly subdued for a change tonight; with Jericho pointing out that she really doesn’t want to get too close to either The Rock OR the Big Show.

When The Rock finally starts to gain an advantage over both Val Venis AND the Goodfather, Big Show suddenly exits the ring, leaving The Rock to face all three members of Right to Censor at once. He valiantly fights all three off for a few minutes while Big Show slowly backs up the ramp. By the time Big Show gets to the top of the ramp, however, the numbers game finally catches up to The Rock, with Richards hitting him with a Stevie Bomb. Val Venis then follows up with a Money Shot from the top rope. The Goodfather looks all set to go for the pin, when all of a sudden…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Nash.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Hall.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Syxx.jpg

It’s the nWo!! Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and X-Pac slide into the ring from all sides and start to brawl with the members of Right to Censor. The Big Show lumbers back down into the ring, grabs Steven Richards, and hits him with a thunderous Show Stopper! Kevin Nash hits Val Venis with a Jacknife Powerbomb while X-Pac hits The Goodfather with an X-Factor! It’s a Street Fight, so it’s all perfectly legal. Big Show then picks up the pinfall on Steven Richards while The Rock is still laid out in the centre of the ring.

Winner by pinfall: The Rock and Big Show

(77)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Hogan.jpg

As Hulk Hogan struts down to the ring, the rest of the nWo roll the bodies of the Right to Censor members out of the ring, as Ivory watches on helplessly. They then all start to beat down on The Rock, as Hogan arrives and they carry out a five on one assault “like the pack of dogs they are” JR yells.

(83)

Big Show then picks The Rock’s limp body up and gives him a Show Stopper, which Hulk Hogan follows up with a Big Leg Drop for good measure. Hogan and the Big Show then pose triumphantly with their feet on The Rock’s fallen carcass as we go off the air.

“THE nWo HAS GOT THEIR DAMN WAY AGAIN… AND THERE DOESN’T APPEAR TO BE ANYONE IN THE WWF WHO CAN STOP THEM!!!”

Another great show, can't wait for the eventual Hogan/Rock match :) By the way, did you get Raven off the drugs? He always does bad ratings for me

Thanks mate, Hogan/Rock should be an absolute cracker, once it arrives. And no about Raven, he's only had that one incident where he gave me attitude.

I actually had to turn off drug testing for now, it was catching too many people and affecting my backstages horribly.

WCW Thunder, Thursday Week 1, June 2001

Pepsi Center, Denver, Colorado (Mid West)

Attendance: 18,007 (sell-out)

Announcers: Mike Tenay, Tony Schiavone, Dusty Rhodes

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Tenay.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Schiavone.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Dusty.jpg

Mike Tenay welcomes us all to Denver, Colorado with the advice that we’re now ten days away from the Great American Bash. Tony Schiavone talks up the fact that we’ll be seeing Sting compete for the first time “in Shane McMahon’s WCW” tonight as he takes on Jeff Jarrett. Dusty Rhodes talks about the fact that with only two confirmed matches for the Bash so far, there must be plenty more in the works, and he expects some more to be announced tonight. He goes on to say he can’t wait for the Bash to see Goldberg and Booker T go head to head for the World Heavyweight Championship, although he wonders just how good an event it can be with the shadow of the nWo lurking over everything…

(67)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Booker.jpg

Speaking of which, the World Heavyweight Champion Booker T comes striding out to the ring and straight-up starts talking about Hulk Hogan and the nWo. He says if Hogan wants his title than all he has to do is challenge for it, and he’ll give him his shot, just like anybody else. All these sneak attacks and gang beatings is doing nothing for anybody, and makes him come across as nothing more than a “gutless, tired, old cracker coward”…

(84)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Shane.jpg

Shane comes out and tells Booker that there’s no way Hulk Hogan is getting a World Heavyweight Championship title shot even if he “just asked for it”, as he doesn’t have a contract with WCW and there’s no way he’ll ever get another one, particularly when you consider the recent actions of “Hogan and his friends”. He then goes on to remind Booker that he and Goldberg have a contract signing tonight for their World Heavyweight Championship match at the Great American Bash, and he should focus all his attention on that rather than “granting imaginary title shots.” Finally, Shane announces that tonight there will be Number 1 contender matches for both the WCW Tag Team and Cruiserweight Championships, with the latter starting… right now!

(85)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Helms.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Chavo.jpg

Shane Helms vs. Chavo Guerrero

WCW Cruiserweight Championship Number 1 Contender Match

Chavo is desperate to get another crack at Rey Mysterio’s Cruiserweight Championship at the Great American bash and he pulls out all stops to get it. During this match he uses the age-old tactics of thumbs to the eyes, low blows and any number of foul tactics, constantly being warned by referee Charles Robinson to cut it out. In the end Chavo manages to pick up the win when he rolls Helms up into a small package and uses the ropes for leverage behind the referee’s back.

Winner by pinfall: Chavo Guerrero

(52)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/DDP.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Shane.jpg

Diamond Dallas Page walks into Shane’s office and demands that he gets Jeff Jarrett at the Great American Bash, saying he’s tired of the constant guitar shots and sneak attacks. Shane says he can have Jarrett; however it has to be a United States title match. DDP says that’s fine by him and strides back out of the office.

(79)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Sting.jpg

Sting comes out to the ring and talks again about respect, how Ric Flair has lost his, and how he will teach him some respect at the Great American Bash. He then goes on to say how Jeff Jarrett is another ‘so-called superstar” in WCW that could learn a lesson or two about respect, which he will be happy to oblige him with tonight…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Flair.jpg

A red-faced Ric Flair comes out to the ring and goes on a massive rant about respect and how Sting wouldn’t know the first thing about respect if it bit him on the backside. They get into each other’s faces and look just about ready to come to blows when…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Shane.jpg

The boss comes out! Shane stands at the top of the ramp and tells both of these “old dogs” (his words, not mine) to cool off a bit and wait for the Great American Bash. He says if they can wait that long he’ll sweeten the deal. Their match at the Bash will now be a Number 1 Contender match for the World Heavyweight Championship, and will face the winner of Booker T and Goldberg.

This seems to calm both of these legends of WCW down a little. Shane tells Flair to take the rest of the night off, as he’s not required for any action. Flair says he just might do that.

(80)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Stacy.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Rey.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Torrie.jpg

Rey Mysterio is backstage with Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson and they ask him about Chavo’s victory over Shane Helms and their upcoming Cruiserweight Championship matchup at the Great American Bash. Rey says that Chavo might have picked up the victory over Helms; however he's less than impressed about the manner in which he got the win, saying he will beat Chavo “clean” at the Bash.

(65)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Edge.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Christian.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Rhyno.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Kanyon.jpg

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/WWFHardcore.jpg

We cut to an area of the parking lot where once again Edge, Christian and Rhyno (complete with a WWF official in tow) are beating down on Kanyon. They seem to have him down and out and are hitting him with chairs and rubbish bins and everything they can get their hands on. They then look at each other as if trying to decide who should make the pin.

Edge looks at Rhyno and says “I don’t want the damn title, just pin him so we can get home to the WWF.” Christian hastily agrees, but then…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Eddie.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Saturn.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Malenko.jpg

It’s the Radicalz! Clearly bored with hanging around backstage all day and not being allowed to participate in any matches, the three superstars come out of nowhere and attack Edge, Christian and Rhyno, eventually chasing them off.

Perry Saturn then looks at Kanyon’s prone form and asks “Should one of us could pin him??”

Eddie laughs and responds “Nah, screw that Holmes, it’s not worth having THAT title around your waist…”

(75)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Goldberg.jpg

Our cameras catch up with Goldberg walking through the backstage area as he’s arriving to the arena, and he grabs the nearest camera and says directly into it that he’s going to defeat Booker T at the Great American Bash and regain “his” World Heavyweight Championship. He then goes on to say that if the nWo get involved in the matchup at the Bash or in their contract signing tonight then they’re going to lose limbs. He then pushes the cameraman out of his way and continues down the corridor.

(88)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Kanyon.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Shane.jpg

A clearly battered and bruised Kanyon stumbles into Shane McMahon’s office and asks him if there’s anything he can do about Edge, Christian and Rhyno's constant attacks on him, seeing as they’re not even members of the WCW roster! Shane tells him that that’s the price he pays for stealing the WWF Hardcore titles, however he says he’ll be on Raw next week to sort out a few issues he has with Vince, and he might have a solution to the problem.

(69)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Devon.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Ray.jpg

As we get ready for our tag team title Number 1 Contenders match Team 3D joins our announce team, as Brother Ray tells Dusty Rhodes that they’re “here to scout out the competition, if they can even be called that.”

The Steiner Brothers vs. The Filthy Animals

WCW Tag Team Championship Number 1 Contenders Match

The first thing that all of our announcers (except Brothers Ray and Devon) agree on is the fantastic tag team chemistry shown here between both of these teams. While this was to be expected from the Steiner Brothers, being eight time world tag team champions and all, it was evident also from the Filthy Animals members as these two teams really gave it to each other in the ring. The match was actually fairly well balanced, with plenty of shared offence between the two teams, however the end of the match comes about when…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Chavo.jpg

Chavo Guerrero appears at ringside attacking Konnan on the apron, which causes Rey Mysterio to chase him out of the arena. This provides enough of a distraction for Rick Steiner to hit Billy Kidman with a Flying Bulldog and pick up the pinfall.

The Steiner Brothers pick up the victory in their first match tagging together in several years and are heading to the Great American Bash to face team 3D for the WCW Tag Team titles!

Winner by pinfall: The Steiner Brothers

(71)

After the match is complete, Team 3D slide into the ring and stand eye-to-eye with the Steiner Brothers. Neither set of brothers is willing to give an inch, as they stand toe-to-toe and look set to get it on right here, right now! Eventually the Steiner Brothers yield and exit the ring, with Scott Steiner signalling to his waist and yelling “see you at the Bash.”

(73)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Stacy.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Flair.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Torrie.jpg

We go backstage now to Torrie and Stacy who are standing with Ric Flair and they ask him about his upcoming match with Sting at the Great American Bash and the added importance now that it’s a Number 1 Contender match for the World Heavyweight Championship. Flair says he goes into every match with the same focus and the Number 1 Contendership will make no difference to how he sets about dismantling Sting in the ring. He says the added bonus though is that after he beats Sting he will go on to become a ten-time WCW World Heavyweight Championship, “WOOOOOO!”

He then says that he’s leaving the arena for the night and asks the ladies if they’d like to come and party with him. They both agree, and the three of them exit the screen.

Sting vs. Jeff Jarrett

Sting’s in-ring return to WCW against Jeff Jarrett proves to be a high intensity affair, with great brawling and technical prowess alike on show. After about fifteen minutes of solid action, Sting starts to gain the upper hand in this matchup. That is, until…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Flair.jpg

Ric Flair (even though he said twice tonight that he was leaving) appears at ringside, causing the distraction that Jeff Jarrett needs to knock Sting down and put him in a Figure-Four Leglock. Sting refuses to tap, however, although there’s no way he can reach the ropes from where Jarrett has him positioned in the ring…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/DDP.jpg

But out comes Diamond Dallas Page, who runs out and rams Ric Flair’s head straight into a ringpost! This causes Jarrett to break his hold on Sting and go to the ropes to shout abuse at DDP. He turns around right into a clothesline from Sting, followed up by a Scorpion Deathlock!! And that’s curtains for Jarrett, being too far away from the rope and is eventually forced to tap out.

Sting then stands in the centre of the ring eyeballing Ric Flair, lying on the concrete outside the ring rubbing his head in anger and yelling abuse back up at the Icon.

Winner by submission: Sting

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Goldberg.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Booker.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Shane.jpg

After our Main Event for the evening is complete, our World Heavyweight Champion, Number 1 Contender and the owner of WCW come out for the contract signing for the championship matchup at the Great American Bash.

They all say their piece before signing the contract: Booker says he’s overcome all sorts of odds to get where he is, and he’ll continue to do that at the Bash; Goldberg says he’ll destroy Booker and anyone else who gets in his path in order to win the World Heavyweight Championship; while Shane says he just wants to see a good match between the top two draws in the industry today.

(89)

They’re not the only ones who want to have their say, however…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Nash.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Hogan.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Hall.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Syxx.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/BigShow.jpg

As is usually the case, the nWo comes out of the crowd from all directions and surround the ring. Booker T brandishes his World Heavyweight Championship belt like a weapon, Shane grabs a steel chair and Goldberg just roars and tells them to bring it! Syxx, Hall and Nash slide into the ring and are set upon by Shane, Booker and Goldberg respectively, who all have the upper hand until the Giant and Hogan also enter the fray. Hogan clotheslines Booker from behind, allowing Hall to hit him with an Outsider’s Edge while the Giant simply picks Shane up and throws him over the top rope! Meanwhile, Goldberg is hammering away at Nash in the corner, but he turns to be set upon by all four of the other members of the nWo. He tries to fight back, clotheslining Syxx and starting to hammer away at Hogan, but it’s only a matter of time before the numbers catch up with him, as Hall hits him with a steel chair and the Giant picks him up to deliver a mammoth Chokeslam.

All five members of the nWo then proceed to beatdown on Booker T and Goldberg, before Hogan hits the World Heavyweight Champion with a Big Leg Drop. We go off the air with Hogan posing in the centre of the ring with the World Heavyweight Championship held aloft in both hands.

Really good so far, can't wait for the Bash.

Thanks Billy, can't wait for YOUR Wrestlemania!

I hope you can pull a better WCW PPV Rating, because this is a wet dream come true for a WCW fan. (I'm actually a fan of WCW early days, when they still belonged to the NWA and before Herd almost killed it)

I'm pretty confident of getting a better rating for the Great American Bash than what I did for Slamboree, as I've now unlocked Motivational Speeches and gone a long way towards fixing my toxic WCW backstage (it's currently at 98%). I just need to book smarter too, maximise my number of angles and try and hit a couple of good 100 percenters if possible.

Still, they won't be as high as my WWF PPVs yet, not until guys like Booker T and Goldberg are up there in popularity with the Stone Colds and Undertakers of this world..

First time I've read this dynasty and everytime I come across something as good as this it makes me want to play the same mod lol

Haha I know exactly what you mean! Bigbad's WCW: The Quest for Lost Glory dynasty made me go out and play Genadi's WCW Lives Mod!!

WWF RAW IS WAR, Monday Week 2, June 2001

Verizon Center, Washington DC (Mid Atlantic)

Attendance: 18,277 (sell-out)

Announcers: Jim Ross, Jerry “The King” Lawler

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/JR.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/King.jpg

Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to a sold-out Verizon Center in DC, for another fantastic edition of Raw is War. JR talks about how we’ll be having another two King of the Ring qualifying matches tonight, while the King wonders aloud about how The Rock is going to deal with the constant beat-downs he has been suffering lately at the hands of Hulk Hogan and the nWo…

(88)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Austin.jpg

The WWF champion struts out to the ring like only Stone Cold Steve Austin can. He says that at the King of the Ring he will once again defeat the Undertaker, and go on to Summerslam to take on whichever poor loser wins the King of the Ring. Austin goes on to say that he doesn’t care who is crowned the 2001 King of the Ring, because either way he’s going to stomp a mudhole in them and walk it dry...

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/HHH.jpg

The WWF Champion is interrupted by his “buddy” Triple H, who comes down to the ring and says it’s great news that Austin doesn’t care who wins the King of the Ring, because he’s going to win it, and he’ll face the WWF Champion at Summerslam, whoever that may be.

This seems to anger Austin, who asks him if he’s not happy enough with the Intercontinental Championship?? Triple H looks down at the belt on his shoulder and says “This thing?? Come on Austin, everyone knows there’s only one prize in the game, and that’s the one draped over YOUR shoulder. There’s only one prize in the game, and it’s THE GAME who’s going to be challenging for that prize comes Summerslam.”

They both stand in the ring, eye to eye, as we cut to our first commercial break.

Raven vs. Justin Credible

In an extremely short match, Raven defeats Justin Credible in 5:23 by pinfall with a Piledriver. There’s really not much to say about this one. Raven needs a victory, Justin Credible is a jobber. Our announcers spent the whole time discussing possible friction between Austin and Triple H, so you’d be surprised if there was even a match on.

Winner by pinfall: Raven

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Vince.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Jericho.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Regal.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/BillyGunn.jpg

Once again, Vince is out the back with his barrel full of golden balls and surrounded by WWF superstars desperate for a crack at the King of the Ring tournament and the WWF Championship.

“So everybody, for our third qualifying matchup in the King of the Ring tournament, we’re going to be seeing Steven Richards, versus… Billy Gunn!”

Billy Gunn is standing nearby, and he pumps his fists in anticipation as he heads off-screen to get ready for his matchup with Richards later on tonight.

“And for our fourth qualifying matchup in the King of the Ring tournament, we’ll be seeing Rikishi, up against… Chris Jericho!!”

Jericho comes over to Vince and proclaims that this is it, this is his shot at the WWF Championship, however Rikishi steps up and gets right in his face. Vince quickly gets in between the two with a sly “Come on now, save it for the ring”, and they both move off.

(83)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Rock.jpg

As the WWF superstars gathered around Vince for the King of the Ring draw begin to disperse, The Rock pushes his way through the crowd and comes straight up to Vince. He tells him that he wants Hulk Hogan and the nWo tonight, right here on Raw. He says he’s tired of all their BS and he needs to lay the smack-down on “Hogan and his jabronis.”

Vince responds by saying he’d love to assist, however neither Hogan, Nash or Hall have WWF contracts and he’s not letting any of them compete on his show. The Rock follows up with “Well what about the Big Show and X-Pac?? That 500 pound tub of lard and his five year old brother are both still under WWF contract, are they not??”

To this a very thoughtful Vince responds that indeed they are. And he grants The Rock his matchup against the Big Show and X-Pac, provided he can find himself a tag team partner. But Vince warns The Rock: there’s not too many guys back here that will be prepared to go against the nWo, as they all know that it leads straight to a hospital bed!

(88)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Kane.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Bearer.jpg

Kane comes out to the ring, and who’s that with him?? It’s none other than Paul Bearer!! Paul Bearer grabs the microphone and says that Kane has once again embraced the dark-side of his heritage. And he urges Kane’s brother to do the same. All this posturing as “the American Badass” is doing nothing for the Undertaker’s career and will never allow him to unleash his full power on the WWF, which is currently under attack like never before. He encourages the Undertaker to follow in the footsteps of his baby brother and once again embrace the dark side before it’s too late, before it’s too late for the Undertaker and the WWF.

He finishes off by saying that until the Undertaker embraces his true nature he will never be free of his brother Kane’s attacks, even his upcoming WWF Championship match at the King of the Ring will be null and void.

(70)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/JHardy.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/MHardy.jpg

The Hardy Boyz come out and join the announce team for the upcoming King of the Ring qualifying matches. Matt says he’s here to scope out who he’ll be up against, which Jeff seconds, at which point Matt reminds him he’s not even in the tournament yet.

(73)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Richards.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Ivory.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/BillyGunn.jpg

Steven Richards vs. Billy Gunn

King of the Ring Qualifier

Billy Gunn once again displays the superb form and athleticism that has granted him an upcoming WWF Tag Team title shot from Commissioner Foley if only he can find a tag team partner and form a winning combination. JR talks about how Chyna is out indefinitely after suffering a broken neck after being thrown out of the ring by Rikishi last week, and he wishes her a speedy recovery. This matchup is punctuated by constant interference from Ivory, causing referee Mike Chioda to leave the ring to tell her to exit ringside, as from the other side of the ring…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Goodfather.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Venis.jpg

Steven Richards’ Right to Censor teammates, the Goodfather and Val Venis, run down the ramp and double team Billy Gunn. While the referee is still distracted by Ivory, the Goodfather picks up Billy Gunn and hits a Death Valley Driver before the WWF Tag Team Champions quickly exit the ring. Ivory then points to Steven Richards making the pin, the referee slides back in, and Steven Richards wins the matchup!

While the Hardy Boyz agree with JR that this is grossly unfair, Jeff Hardy quips “that’s wrestling, baby” and Matt is forced to agree with him.

Winner by pinfall: Steven Richards. Richards qualifies for the quarter finals of the King of the Ring tournament.

(56)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Rock.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Bradshaw.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Faarooq.jpg

The Rock is backstage looking for a partner to team up with him tonight against the nWo, but nobody seems real keen. In fact everyone appears to be giving him a wide berth. He finds the A.P.A playing poker and smoking cigars (for a change), and asks them if either of them wants to partner up with him. They respond with “Hell no, we’ve seen what happens to anybody who crosses the nWo!”

You know you’re in trouble when even two of the toughest SOBs on the WWF roster don’t want to help you out…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Foley.jpg

All of a sudden Commissioner Foley comes along. The Rock asks him about whether he wants to get the old team back together. Get “The Rock and Sock” happening one last time?? This gets a tremendous pop from the audience and Mick says he’d love to… only his role as WWF Commissioner strictly forbids any in-ring action.

The Rock storms off, as it looks like he’ll be facing the nWo alone tonight, once again.

(73)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Jericho.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Trish.jpg

We go backstage now to where Trish Stratus is standing by with Chris Jericho. Trish asks him about his King of the Ring matchup with Rikishi tonight, and how he thinks he will fare in the tournament. Chris responds by saying provided he doesn’t get crushed by Rikishi’s eight hundred pound ass he’s fairly confident of beating the Samoan bulldozer tonight and going on to win the crown at the King of the Ring pay-per-view.

From there he’s just a hop, skip and a jump away from Summerslam and taking the WWF Championship from Austin, or the Undertaker, or whoever it is holding HIS title at that time.

(60)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Foley.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Undertaker.jpg

Commissioner Foley finds the Undertaker backstage and says that he’s worried about Paul Bearer’s words earlier as he can’t see how Undertaker and Austin can have a WWF Championship match at King of the Ring without Kane getting involved and ruining t for everybody. He's decided that he can’t see any other way around it, so he’s adding Kane to the match-up. So the WWF Championship match at King of the Ring will now be a triple-threat match between Kane, the Undertaker, and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

The Undertaker doesn’t seem to mind at all, and says that he’s “looking forward to it…”

(85)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Rikishi.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Sexay.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Jericho.jpg

Rikishi vs. Chris Jericho

King of the Ring Qualifier

As these two competitors go at it in the ring for an opportunity to advance to the King of the Ring quarter-finals, JR asks Matt Hardy which one he would prefer to face. To which Jeff responds that both opponents bring something different to the ring, Jericho is technically among the best wrestlers in the world today, whereas Rikishi just brings pure size, strength and power. Matt simply responds with “Yeah, what he said.” And this match progresses pretty much the way Jeff Hardy described, with Jericho constantly trying to battle Rikishi’s power by using holds and takedowns in order to bring the big Samoan off his feet. Despite constant interference from Grandmaster Sexay on the outside, after approximately eight minutes of action Jericho is able to finally get the big man off his feet and lock him in the Walls of Jericho in the centre of the ring.

Rikishi cannot reach the ropes, and is eventually forced to have to submit… and Jericho is on his way to the King of the Ring finals!

Winner by submission: Chris Jericho. Jericho qualifies for the quarter finals of the King of the Ring tournament.

(74)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Vince.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Shane.jpg

We cut to Vince’s office as his son, the owner of WCW, Shane McMahon walks in. He tells Vince it’s great to be back on Raw, however it pales in comparison to his show, WCW Thunder. Vince laughs and tells Shane he’s surprised that Thunder is still on the air and says he’s looking forward to another ratings disaster with the ‘Great American Flop”.

Shane chuckles at this but says he’s here for some serious business, which should benefit both companies. He says firstly, he knows they’re both tired of the constant failed attacks by Edge, Christian and Rhyno on Kanyon as a part of WWF’s desperate attempt to get the Hardcore Championship back. He proposes a solution, they remove the 24/7 stipulation on the Hardcore title, and Kanyon defends it at the Great American Bash in a traditional Hardcore match against a WWF superstar of Vince’s choice. The winning company of the match gets to keep the Hardcore title, and if it’s WCW they’re rebranding it to the WCW Hardcore Championship. Vince looks thoughtful at this, but says nothing.

Shane then goes on to say that the next problem at hand is the Radicalz’ contract situation. He says that athletes of the calibre of Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn should not just be left “on the shelf” due to contractual technicalities. So as a solution to the situation, and as he sees them hanging around WCW quite regularly, Shane proposes this: Edge, Christian and Rhyno each go one on one with a member of the Radicalz at the Great American Bash, and the winner of the best of three series out of the WCW and WWF gets the contract of all six superstars! The Radicalz will represent WCW while Edge, Christian and Rhyno will be fighting for WWF.

Vince gives this a long, hard think… and then agrees to both proposals! They shake hands, and Vince goes on to say “Now, about this whole damn nWo situation…”

(86)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Angle.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Trish.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Lesnar.jpg

We leave Vince’s office to where Trish is standing by with Kurt Angle and the ultra-impressive specimen that is Brock Lesnar. Kurt Angle says he will brush Matt Hardy aside in their King of the Ring Quarter Final and go on to win the tournament for the second year running. He also goes on to point out that while he doesn’t “need” Brock Lesnar’s help to win the tournament; he certainly is a nice insurance policy to have around, isn’t he?

Lesnar just stands and glares.

(73)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/BigShow.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Syxx.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Nash.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Hall.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Rock.jpg

Big Show and X-Pac come out to the ring, flanked by their nWo buddies Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. They all laugh as The Rock comes out to ringside alone as JR and the King discuss how nobody wants to partner up with The Rock tonight, as the numbers advantage is just too great.

That is, until…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Booker.jpg

It’s Booker T!! The WCW World Heavyweight Champion comes down to ringside, high-fives The Rock and they both slide into the ring and start getting stuck into the nWo. The Rock grabs Kevin Nash and Booker grabs Scott Hall and they throw them both over the top rope as referee Earl Hebner rings the bell.

We officially have a match!!

(86)

The Big Show and X-Pac vs. The Rock and Booker T

As this match gets underway, JR confirms that we have official authorisation from both Vince McMahon AND Shane McMahon that Booker T is sanctioned to compete in a WWF ring tonight. This is the first time in history that a member from the opposite company has been sanctioned to fight on an opposition show.

The match itself proves to have some fantastic action and a red-hot crowd, as all four superstars get plenty of time in the ring to go on the offensive. The Rock and Booker T prove to be a good combination and eventually start to isolate X-Pac in the corner for a long period of time. Booker T manages to hit X-Pac with a Scissor Kick, and while he is following this up with a Spinaroonie, the Big Show enters the ring, only to be met with a running clothesline by The Rock.

This then leads to both Hall and Nash entering the ring, and The Rock hitting Nash with a Rock Bottom as Booker T hits Scott Hall with a Bookend. They then both hit X-Pac with a combined version of the People’s Elbow (Rock does the head end, Booker does the feet end), before Booker T picks up the pinfall for the victory.

Winner by pinfall: The Rock and Booker T

(81)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Hogan.jpg

It’s not over there though, as Hulk Hogan runs down the ramp and the nWo regroups and counter-attacks. Nash, Hall and the Big Show have all recovered enough to start a four on two attack on The Rock and Booker T along with Hogan’s help and it looks like once again the numbers game has caught up to the People’s Champ and the World Heavyweight Champion.

But then…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Goldberg.jpg

It’s Goldberg! Goldberg's here in the WWF!!! And he runs straight down the ramp, into the ring and Spears Scott Hall! He then Spears Kevin Nash!! The Rock then grabs the Big Show as Booker T grabs Hulk Hogan and they once again give out a double dose of Rock Bottom/Bookend.

With the nWo taken care of, Goldberg then stands in the ring eye-to-eye with Booker T, the man he will face on Sunday night for the World Heavyweight Championship. The Rock, who is up on the turnbuckle posing for the fans, notices this, and gets between them, raising both their arms in triumph. This causes a massive pop from the crowd, and all three of them mount turnbuckles and raise their arms for the audience.

As we go off the air, Jim Ross states that The Rock has struck a tremendous blow in the war with the nWo…

Hulk Hogan wastes no time at all in grabbing a microphone and talking about The Rock, Booker T and Goldberg’s “gutless” attack on the nWo Monday night on Raw. He goes on to say that the nWo will be taking care of all three superstars in due course, and revenge is a dish best served cold. Hogan talks about the Booker T/Goldberg World Heavyweight Championship match at the Great American Bash and says it matters not to him who wins it, as he’ll be coming to get his title back “Real soon, brothers…”

After his speech he then declares that the nWo are “taking tonight off”, as they all stream back up the ramp and out of the arena.

We go down to the announce desk where Mike Tenay, Tony Schiavone and Dusty Rhodes welcome us to another episode of WCW Thunder and remind us that we’re only three nights away from the Great American Bash. They hype tonight’s card, which features Team 3D and the Steiner Brothers in singles action; Edge, Christian and Rhyno up against the Radicalz; Rey Mysterio versus Shane Helms in a non-title match; as well as a huge Main Event of Sting and DDP in tag team action against their opponents for the Bash… Jeff Jarrett and Ric Flair.

Brother Devon vs. Rick Steiner

Our opening matchup of the evening brings us some singles action between two of the competitors who will be taking place in the WCW Tag Team Championship matchup at the Great American Bash. Neither of these two wrestlers is overly known for their technical prowess and this match proves to be nothing short of a brawl. Both Brother Ray and Scott Steiner on the outside constantly interject themselves into the match, but the end comes about when referee Billy Silverman is distracted by Brother Ray allowing Scott Steiner to blast Devon with a brutal chair-shot to the head! With Devon out cold, Rick Steiner picks up an easy pinfall victory.

Winner by pinfall: Rick Steiner

Rick Steiner then starts a beatdown on the unconscious Devon before Brother Ray comes to the ring and chases him away. As the EMTs see to Devon, Mikes Tenay muses how much impact Devon being knocked out could have on their upcoming tag team title match at the Bash in three days’ time.

We go backstage to Stacy and Torrie who are standing with Diamond Dallas Page and Sting. They ask them about their matchups with Jeff Jarrett and Ric Flair both tonight and at the Bash. DDP says that he has taken so much crap from Jeff Jarrett that he’s prepared to dish it back tenfold, whereas Sting just reiterates it’s all about respect. And he’s going to teach them both a lesson in respect tonight, and then repeat the dosage for Flair on Sunday night.

(76)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Booker.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Goldberg.jpg

All of a sudden we cut to the carpark, where Booker T and Goldberg are found both lying unconscious, covered in blood. It appears they have been beaten down by mysterious attackers, but after Hulk Hogan’s ominous words earlier this evening, Dusty Rhodes claims “It’s not really that much of a mystery is it??”

(87)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Eddie.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Saturn.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Malenko.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Kanyon.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Edge.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Christian.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Rhyno.jpg

Eddie Guerrero, Perry Saturn and Dean Malenko vs. Edge, Christian and Rhyno

The six competitors who are set to take place in the Winner Takes All Contracts Best of 3 Series at the Great American Bash square up in what proves to be a fairly fast-paced and action packed matchup from the word go. Referee Charles Robinson is up against it from the outset, as these six competitors go at it inside the ring, as well as out of it. To also add to the intrigue, Kanyon has accompanied the Radicalz members to ringside in an attempt to get one back on the guys who have been giving it to him for the last month.

In the end, all six members of the match end up in the ring at once and amongst the chaos the referee ends up getting thrown out of the ring and knocked out. It’s at that point in time…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Goodfather.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Richards.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Venis.jpg

It’s Right to Censor!! The announcers question what on earth the WWF Tag Team Champions and their spiritual leader are doing on WCW as they head straight for the ring and begin to take the attack to the Radicalz. Kanyon comes into the ring to help out his new pals, however the numbers advantage is too strong at six on two, and eventually the Radicalz and Kanyon get beaten down. Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko and Kanyon get thrown out of the ring as Edge hits Perry Saturn with an Edgecution and goes for the pin just as Charles Robinson returns to the ring to make the 3-Count.

Winner by pinfall: Edge, Christian and Rhyno

(69)

Flanked by Val Venis and The Goodfather, Steven Richards then grabs a microphone and reveals that he’s Vince's pick to face Kanyon for the Hardcore title at the Great American Bash. He says it’s the duty of Right to Censor to make sure that not only does the WWF get their coveted championship belt back, but that they also retain all six contracts of their superstars. And if there’s one thing that Right to Censor does well, it’s their duty.

(54)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Shane.jpg

Shane McMahon comes to the ring and announces that after constant attacks and interference from the nWo over the past month, including the obvious attack tonight on Goldberg and Booker T, he is making the World Heavyweight Championship match at the Great American Bash a Steel Cage match. One stipulation he is putting in place though, is that the match cannot be won by escaping the cage, and can only be decided by pinfall or submission, as the whole objective of the steel cage is to keep the nWo out of business that clearly doesn’t concern them.

(82)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Chavo.jpg

Chavo comes out to join our announce team for the next matchup, saying he wants to scout out his opponent for the Great American Bash…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Helms.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Rey.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Kidman.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Konnan.jpg

Shane Helms vs. Rey Mysterio

No sooner has this match commenced when Rey sends Kidman and Konnan to the back. Mike Tenay mentions that it’s obvious that Rey wants to win this one cleanly without any form of interruption; however Chavo says that the Filthy Animals are almost definitely up to something. As the match progresses Chavo goes to great lengths to discredit Rey’s character, going as far as to say that Rey has “tricked” his Uncle Eddie into believing he’s a great guy, a lie which Chavo will expose for the world to see at the Great American Bash when he takes his title. In the end, this match is over pretty quickly, as Rey defeats Helms cleanly by pinfall after hitting a Springboard Hurracanrana.

Winner by pinfall: Rey Mysterio

(67)

As Rey Mysterio is posing on the turnbuckle with the Cruiserweight title, Chavo attacks him from behind, throwing him off the turnbuckle onto the concrete below! Chavo then grabs Rey’s Cruiserweight title belt, poses with it himself, before heading backstage with a cocky grin on his face.

(50)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Stacy.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Flair.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Jarrett.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Torrie.jpg

Once again we go backstage to Stacy and Torrie as they now have Ric Flair and Jeff Jarrett with them and pose them the same questions they asked DDP and Sting earlier. Jarrett talks about how DDP is over the hill, how he should never have been put in a tournament for the US title that Jarrett was not allowed to enter, and how he will take the title from him at the Bash. Flair then goes on to say that if Sting wants a lesson in respect, he’ll show him respect, after he and Jarrett have wiped the floor with Sting and DDP tonight, he’ll go on to beat Sting at the Great American Bash to become the Number 1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship.

“And there ain’t a damn thing that makeup-wearing freak will be able to do about it. WOO!”

(74)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Ray.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Steiner.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/RSteiner.jpg

Brother Ray vs. Scott Steiner

With Brother Devon being taken away by paramedics earlier in the night, the numbers game is well and truly against Brother Ray as he faces Scott Steiner in “one-on-one” action. The constant interferences and distractions by Rick Steiner prove to be too much for Ray to overcome, and after Rick Steiner proves to be a distraction one to many times Scott Steiner is able to lock Brother Ray in the Steiner Recliner in the centre of the ring. Although Ray doesn’t officially tap out, the referee calls for the bell after Ray passes into unconsciousness. Tony Schiavone points out how both the Steiner Brothers have defeated Team 3D in singles action tonight (albeit under dubious circumstances) and it doesn’t bode well for the beaten-up Brothers Devon and Ray come the Great American Bash.

Winner by pinfall: Scott Steiner

(74)

After the match is over, the Steiners are not done, however, as they continue to lay boots into the unconscious Brother Ray…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Devon.jpg

That is, until Brother Devon, complete with a heavily bandaged head, comes running out to the ring with a steel chair and chases the Steiner Brothers away. He checks on his unconscious brother, but as the announcers have already pointed out, how much damage has been done to these two already at the hands of the ruthless Steiners??

(62)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Sting.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/DDP.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Jarrett.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Flair.jpg

Sting and Diamond Dallas Page vs. Jeff Jarrett and Ric Flair

So we come to our Main Event of the evening and this one doesn’t fail to live up to the hype, as all four WCW superstars give it their all. It’s clear that this one is quite personal between all four competitors, as emotion spills over into the ring. After about fifteen minutes of action, Sting looks set to take the victory over Jeff Jarrett when Ric Flair distracts referee Nick Patrick on the outside. Jarrett then hits Sting with a low blow, who then staggers to the corner and tags in Diamond Dallas Page. Jarrett makes the tag to Flair, and as Patrick is trying to get Jarrett to leave the ring, Flair connects with DDP with a pair of brass knucks that he had hidden in his boots. From there it’s simply academic for Flair to pick up the victory with the pin over the unconscious Page.

Winner by pinfall: Jeff Jarrett and Ric Flair

(76)

After the matchup is complete, Sting comes back into the ring and has words to say with Flair, who is also not backing down from a confrontation. Diamond Dallas Page comes to and chases Jeff Jarrett from ringside, as Mike Tenay questions what could possibly happen next…

“I’ll tell you what could happen next, Mike Tenay,” Dusty Rhodes yells…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Hogan.jpg

Hulk Hogan comes to the ring and gets in a face-off with both Sting and Ric Flair. It appears that Hogan is saying that no matter who wins their matchup at the Bash on Sunday, he should be the rightful Number 1 Contender. Both Sting and Flair seem to be taking offence to Hogan’s assertions, and as is always the case, where Hogan goes, the other members of the nWo are never that far away…

(87)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Nash.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Hall.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Syxx.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/BigShow.jpg

Nash, Hall, Syxx and the Giant all flood the ring and take it to Ric Flair and Sting! As the Giant hits Flair with a Chokeslam, Sting fights valiantly against both Hall and Syxx, however Nash manages to grab Sting and hit him with a Jacknife Powerbomb!! The nWo stands tall in the ring, as in the one night they have managed to take out the World Heavyweight Champion, the Number 1 Contender, as well as the next two possible contenders in line for a shot at the title.

Or have they…..??

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Goldberg.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Booker.jpg

It’s Goldberg and Booker T!! The World Heavyweight Champion and the Number 1 Contender both come flying down to the ring, armed with steel baseball bats. They launch right into the nWo, and in no time at all have managed to lay Nash, Hall, Syxx and the Giant out. Hogan is too crafty, however, and manages to escape the ring and head back up the ramp as complete carnage is going on inside the ring.

As we go off the air we see Hogan backing up the ramp with Booker and Goldberg shouting abuse at him from inside the ring. Dusty Rhodes talks about how they might be on the same page tonight; however come Sunday night they’ll be tearing each other to pieces inside steel…

“See you at the Bash!!”

Booker T - This one could easily go either way, but Booker is a champ you can do more with compared to Goldberg. The day could come when you unify the titles with Goldberg vs Austin, but I don't feel that to be on this day.

Ric Flair - A top notch heel to face Booker for the titles.

DDP - Page will keep being a good champ for awhile yet if you let him.

Team 3D - The average WCW crowd wouldn't be very hip to the Dudleyz. So putting them over the Steiners will put them over huge.

Rey Mysterio - Rey is good champ. *shrug*

Eddy Guerrero

Dean Malenko

Rhyno

Kanyon - I went with this sequence because I think WCW will end up getting the contracts for all six, as well as gaining the Hardcore title.

Damn good show! Loved everything about it, from top to bottom. You, my man, have done great things on this one. All should step up and take notice for sure.

I will be posting this one in the DOTM for sure.

Thank you so much for the nominations, Beej! Means a lot coming from a brilliant writer such as yourself. Also, I'm really glad to see that people are enjoying this, as I'm having an absolute ball writing it.

Hopefully the best is yet to come, as I'm still putting things in place for the "big" storylines to take shape...

I will try to remember to edit some comments in when I am home, but wanted to be sure to be counted!

Haha all good mate, I won't be posting the show for another 24 hours yet, give enough people time to predict.

I realise I jumped the gun on my posting of Judgment Day a bit (got too excited) and didn't let enough people get their predictions in...

By the way, why did you change the names of the Dudleys? WWF has the rights of the name as they purchased ECW and WCW is merely a brand. What's the point?

Oh, I actually did it to differentiate between the WWF and WCW as separate companies and separate entities. They're not all wrestling under the WWE banner, Shane McMahon actually bought WCW (kayfabe) in my reality, so there are certain things that are "protected" by copyright.

If you play close enough attention you'll notice a few wrestlers who go by different names on the two programmes ;)
