Block B comes down to Tetsuya Naito, Shinsuke Nakamura or Katsuyori Shibata in my opinion. Block A has four or five people who could win. Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kazuchika Okada, Kota Ibushi, A.J. Styles & Hirooki Goto. Maybe six with Samoa Joe. Also how did you get Samoa Joe? Was Joe already a free agent when you started this dynasty? Or is the WWE dropping talent? WWZone
G1 Climax 25 Night 1 Predictions G1 Climax 25 Block A Shelton X Benjamin vs. Samoa Joe Comments: Samoa Joe could become the strong darkhorse of the tournament and racking up a lot of points for himself. I don't expect him to win the block but just enough to keep himself over and keep him dominate. G1 Climax 25 Block B Yuji Nagata vs Alberto El Patron Comments: This could become a true, good mat based match. I would actually like to see this in real life. Both have a Submission and a Pin finish and good amount of Psychology and Technical ability. But I'll go with Yuji Nagata with the experience edge. G1 Climax 25 Block A Naomichi Marufuji vs. Tomoaki Honma Comments: Is Naomichi Marufuji the GHC Heavyweight Champion in this dynasty, if so it could be a good idea to keep the Major champion of a National company in Japan strong in the tournament and Honma can take a pin here. G1 Climax 25 Block B Satoshi Kojima vs. Karl Anderson Comments: COZY! G1 Climax 25 Block A Toru Yano vs. AJ Styles Comments: Toru Yano has become a person in this type of tournament where he is able to pull a surprise victory on anyone! And I mean anyone! He is sneaky as F**K but knows what to do in a big match situation. G1 Climax 25 Block B Tomohiro Ishii vs. Minoru Suzuki Comments: This may sound weird but I would like to see Minoru Suzuki finish has in the top 2 of this Block. G1 Climax 25 Block A Kota Ibushi vs. Hirooki Goto Comments: Ibushi to start off the G1 Climax with a strong victory over a strong opponent. G1 Climax 25 Block B Togi Makabe vs. Katsuyori Shibata Comments: This will become a stiff battle, and I think Shibata will be racking up the opening points. G1 Climax 25 Block A Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Roderick Strong Comments: Tanahashi is the Ace of the company and always will be, Roderick Strong I don't see doing as well as Joe in the tournament. G1 Climax 25 Block B Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Bad Luck Fale Comments: Bad Luck Fale is a good big guy nothing really special of him other than that. Beejus
S'Mo'Jo - Will be a good match, but can't see SXB getting past Joe for his first match. AEP - Same logic as the previous match. Marufuji - Because Honma jobs in his sleep. Kojima - A nice Kozy Cutter should do the honors here. Which reminds me, is it realy a "Kozy" Cutter like you've said or is it a "Koji Cutter" like his name? I've always meant to ask that. AJ Styles - Yano are, Yano are, he is he is. Suzuki - Suzuki-Gun are the awesome, Minoru picks up a good win here. Ibushi Shibata Tanahashi - Unlike the other debuting gaijin, Roddy runs into a wall. Joe impresses on debut, making a comeback with his signature jabs, a Leg Lariat and then a Senton Splash. His signature offence may be fairly simple but his unhinged demeanor still draws a warm reaction, he looks as though he's just a slight away from breaking somebody's nose. Shelton is a stalwart, working around Joe and making his victory all the more credible when the Samoan Submission Machine introduces the audience to the Muscle Buster. Match Time: 13:13 Rating: 82 (B) http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/50pxnjpw.png http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/NewRoster/nagata75.jpghttp://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/75vs.jpghttp://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/NewRoster/elpatron75.jpg G1 Climax 25 Block B Yuji Nagata vs Alberto El Patron A submission-oriented battle as both Nagata and Alberto take the fight to each other's extremities. Alberto's attack is pinpointed directly on Nagata's left arm whereas the Anti-Aging Star is a little less one-dimensional, electing to put all areas of Alberto's body in pain. The Mexican is still able to fight on and nearly locks on the Cross Armbreaker, only for Nagata to slip a foot on the bottom rope before Alberto can break his defensive grip. Likewise, Nagata locks on the Nagata Lock II (Crossface) but his left arm gives out on him allowing El Patron to find an easy rope break. It's perhaps ironic that after all the back and forth mat-based action, the decisive fall comes in the way of a pinfall after Nagata's Backdrop Hold folds the Mexican in half. Defeat on debut for Alberto but a fighting effort nonetheless. Match Time: 12:04 Rating: 76 (B-) http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/50pxnjpw.png http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/NewRoster/marufuji75.jpghttp://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/75vs.jpghttp://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/NewRoster/honma75.jpg G1 Climax 25 Block A Naomichi Marufuji vs. Tomoaki Honma Brains meets brawn and surprisingly, the scales don't weigh heavily in either favour. A very even match right from the get go, Honma finds the advantage with his stiff forearm strikes but Marufuji has the presence of mind to move out the way when he thinks Honma is about to drop a Kokeshi. Honmania runs wild again brother! He drops a Kokeshi (Headbutt) the second time around, much to the delight of himself and our audience. But later rues going high risk when he misses a Diving Kokeshi from the top turnbuckle. Marufuji takes advantage, forcefully bringing Honma back to his feet for the Pole Shift (Fisherman's Suplex Piledriver) and a pinfall victory. Match Time: 11:02 Rating: 82 (B) http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/50pxnjpw.png http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/NewRoster/kojima75.jpghttp://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/75vs.jpghttp://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/NewRoster/anderson75.jpg G1 Climax 25 Block B Satoshi Kojima vs. Karl Anderson Both Kojima and Anderson know that the G1 is the perfect platform to put a mediocre year behind them and push on to something greater towards 2016. Kojima wrestled with an energy not befitting of his veteran status: as he gives Anderson a Diving Elbow Drop after a Bulldog, he looks like a competitor in his prime. But Anderson ducks underneath the signature Cozy Lariat and hits the Gun Stun (Cutter) out of nowhere! Silence descends on the arena as referee Marty Asami counts the pinfall. Match Time: 10:05 Rating: 76 (B-) http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/50pxnjpw.png http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/NewRoster/yano75.jpghttp://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/75vs.jpghttp://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/NewRoster/styles75.jpg G1 Climax 25 Block A Toru Yano vs. AJ Styles As Yano throws a water bottle at the leader of the Bullet Club and swarms him with strikes, you wouldn't be wrong in thinking this one probably won't last too long. Yano unties the turnbuckle corner and engages in what can only be described as a scuffle with his opponent. Pushing Styles into the referee, Yano then gives him a low blow! Schoolboy pin, but only a 2! Styles gets back to his feet but the almighty YTR gives him a swift poke to the eye and rolls him up with an Inside Cradle! Styles' shoulders are down for barely the three, but nonetheless, Toru Yano steals the win!!! Retreating up the ramp with his DVD in one hand, Yano shrugs his shoulders as if to say 'why not?'. Styles has no idea what has just happened, dumbfoundedly contesting the count and shaking his head. Match Time: 2:41 Rating: 67 (C+) http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/50pxnjpw.png http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/NewRoster/neverishii75.jpghttp://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/75vs.jpghttp://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/NewRoster/misu75.jpg G1 Climax 25 Block B Tomohiro Ishii vs. Minoru Suzuki An interesting clash here between two competitors that refuse to tap out or say die. As such, this match consists of strike after strike after strike. Suzuki's slaps were met with Ishii's forearms before the leader of Suzuki-gun singled out Ishii's right arm for some punishment. Truth be told, the match was only just getting going when Ishii hit a big Lariat and then followed it up with the Vertical Drop Brainbuster for the victory. Knowing that an improvement in their win/loss records could see them feature in G1 Climax 26, Captain New Japan & Watanabe bring an inspired effort to the table. Showing a fire not seen by either man in a long time, Captain New Japan pressed on to victory after a Running Powerslam to Doc Gallows. Quick tags are the name of the game for the Suzuki-gun junior trio, cutting off the ring and keeping the young lions isolated. KUSHIDA tries to turn the tide but he finds himself being put to one side by a death-defying suicide dive from El Desperado. Back in the ring, Komatsu fights on bravely but is outclassed by TAKA, who picks up the victory after a Michinoku Driver. Goto adopts brawling, using stiff forearms to try and beat Ibushi into submission. The 'Golden Star' stands up impressively in that department but resorts to high risk far too early, Goto getting his knees up on a Standing Shooting Star Press. A game of cat and mouse, these two counter everything the other throws at them. Goto's Ushikoroshi (Fireman's Carry Neckbreaker) sees Ibushi bend back and land on his feet. Shortly after, Ibushi attempts a Pele Kick just for Goto to catch his foot in mid air and lock on an STF when Ibushi splats the canvas. Back and forth we go until Goto catches Ibushi looking for the Phoenix Splash and knocks his foot out. Climbing up to the top, Goto gives him the smoothest of Sunset Flip Powerbomb's. Although the impact isn't enough to put Ibushi away, it stuns him long enough for Goto to hit the Shouten Kai and pick up a huge victory. This match was hotly anticipated and these two go hammer and tongs with hard forearm strikes right from the beginning. Shibata's boot to the face has no effect, much like Makabe's shoulder charge leaves Shibata wondering if that's all he's got. After some more forearm strikes, chest kicks and knife edge chops, Makabe busts out the King Kong Lariat! But Shibata is out at one! Big Backdrop from 'The Wrestler' now! But Makabe is out at one! These two continue to throw bombs, clashing into each other with duel Lariats that knock both men silly. Shibata misses a Big Boot and rebounds off the ropes into a big Powerslam... but kicks out at two. Back to his feet very quickly, Shibata delivers a stiff chest kick that echoes around the arena. Makabe slumbs to one knee and is then put down for good by a brutal Penalty Kick. A largely technical wrestling affair, the fans perhaps aren't as enthusiastic or vocal as the match before. The action is perfectly acceptable, Strong mostly working over Tanahashi's lower back and keeping the Ace exactly where he wanted him. The pace picks up towards the end as despite Tanahashi weathering the storm, the fans begin to buy more and more into the possibility that Strong could pick up an upset. But Tana pulls it out the bag, surviving the Strong Breaker (Vertical Suplex Into A Double Knee Backbreaker) before the signature Sling Blade and High Fly Flow combination sees Tanahashi welcome himself to the scoreboard. Match Time: 13:29 Rating: 78 (B) http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/50pxnjpw.png http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/NewRoster/shinsuke.jpghttp://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/125vs.jpghttp://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/NewRoster/fale.jpg G1 Climax 25 Block B Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Bad Luck Fale With Nak seriously needing to bounce back after losing his IWGP Intercontinental Championship at Dominion 7.5, he couldn't have wished for more difficult opponent. Nakamura's early posturing is unbelievable, smiling as Fale backs him into a corner. A superb David vs. Goliath clash here, Nak isn't enjoying himself as much when Fale is clubbing him across the back and sending him careening into the steel guard rail. He guts it out though, not getting an opportunity to fight back until he counters a Chokeslam into a wonderful Cross Armbreaker. The Underboss is quick to fight back though, blocking Nakamura's optimistic attempted Inverted Powerslam before flattening him with a huge Samoan Drop. Now Fale begins hoisting his opponent up into the Crucifix position for the Bad Luck Fall... Nakamura kicks his legs wildly, fighting the move with desperation. Wiggling from side to side with everything he's got, Nak does manage to break Fale's grip. Dropping down, he gives a turning Fale a BOMA YE~!!! to the side of the head! Fale drops to one knee and Nakamura downs him with a BOMA YE~! from the second rope. The lateral press wasn't enough to pick up the win but Fale never returns to a vertical base, instead being clattered in the face with a third and final BOMA YE~! Match Time: 14:41 Rating: 87 (B+) http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/50pxnjpw.png http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/NJPW%202015/NewRoster/shinsuke.jpg Nakamura celebrates his victory, looking more thankful than anything else. In his customary post-match speech, he's happy with that performance. Last year, he lost the G1 Climax 24 final to Okada and then redeemed himself by winning back his IWGP Intercontinental Championship from Bad Luck Fale at Destruction. Tonight, lightning struck twice. It was Fale again that he bounced back against. With the competition and the physicality, it isn't impossible that Nakamura could face somebody like Marufuji or Goto in the final. But the 'King Of Strong Style' thinks that's irrelevant. No matter who he's facing, he's going to win. This year is his year. Do the fans believe him? Will he go all the way? "YEAOH!!!" Mootinie
Hahaha yeah, I just had to. I'll reply to some comments first (which are great by the way) and then get around to prediction results and all that jazz a bit later. Is Naomichi Marufuji the GHC Heavyweight Champion in this dynasty, if so it could be a good idea to keep the Major champion of a National company in Japan strong in the tournament and Honma can take a pin here. He's not, Mohammed Yone has held it since Marufuji was let go in the middle of March (whilst Head Booker no less lol). I signed him full time shortly after. Sorry Hashaheen, Marufuji isn't NOAH, he's NJPW through and through now. Also how did you get Samoa Joe? Was Joe already a free agent when you started this dynasty? Or is the WWE dropping talent? I started in January 2015 so he was signed to a PPA with TNA. He's lost twice to Zema Ion and boasts a depressing win loss record of just 6 wins and 8 losses over there... dropping the ball big time. Kojima - A nice Kozy Cutter should do the honors here. Which reminds me, is it realy a "Kozy" Cutter like you've said or is it a "Koji Cutter" like his name? I've always meant to ask that. Cozy is his nickname, I think it was a name he was called when he was in the New Japan dojo due to his first name being Satoshi but I'm not sure. Wikipedia says the move has been called both a Cozy Cutter and a Kojima Cutter so yeah. Comments: That Kota push? I'll say it now just so people don't get excited, Ibushi is on a PPA deal with DDT and he's loyal to them. Unless they let him go, he will always have a ceiling over him. He's ex-NOAH, at least until he declares his loyalties to New Japan in a big press conference. Sorta like the Shiozaki/Kanemaru situation right now with NOAH IRL, if you will. Surprised you haven't signed him full-time, then.

Sorta like the Shiozaki/Kanemaru situation right now with NOAH IRL, if you will. Yeah I understand what you mean. To be honest, I had no intention of bringing him on board full time until they released him. At that point it just seemed to make sense. I wonder if he'll turn loyal to NJPW when his contract is re-signed... Wiki.jp lists Kojima Cutter as the official name but admits even announcers call it the Koji-Koji Cutter among other names. It's hard to call any choice wrong. Ah that's interesting. I think I'll stick with Cozy Cutter considering it isn't wrong and I've already established it as such.
