Gauntlet match: Daniels - After his big return, he picks up an establishing win.

WGTT - Drake may have his day under the tutelege of Nash, but not against WGTT.

Austin Aries - Drew is a weird choice for the X title, but the match should be pretty good.

Mr. Anderson - Always been a bigger fan of his than Eric's.

Tommy/Sandman - ECW on life support!

AJ Brooks - Great heel stuff by forcing Brie to count the pin that gives AJ the belt.

EC3 - This train isn't stopping anytime soon.

CM Punk - Go home, Lashley.

Fan sign: Assholes....Assemble!

Pinfalls Count Anywhere Match

Eric Young vs. Mr. Anderson

Comment: I can never see past Eric Young as being the comedic jobber he was when I watched TNA :D

Comments On The Diary/Previous Show: Really enjoyed these last few shows, Genesis promises to be a great event

Thank you for the predictions and comments. Always appreciate reading them.

'Don't fire me' Eric was definitely comedic gold back in the day. Or maybe you were more a fan of Super Eric? :)

Glad you've enjoyed the last few shows and I hope Genesis will live up to your expectations. :)

Austin Aries - Drew is a weird choice for the X title, but the match should be pretty good.

Thank you for the predictions and comments, my friend.

I have gone back to the old ways of the X-Division. It's not about weight limits. It's about no limits.

TNA GENESIS!

Sunday Week 2 January 2016

Location: PA Hersheypark Arena (Tri State)

Attendance: 7,286

Overall Rating: B-

PPV Buyrate: .68

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/TNA_2015/CMPunk.jpg

[TNA Genesis is live from Hershey, Pennsylvania with D'Angelo Dinero and Josh Mathews welcoming everyone to the show. What an outstanding show we have planned for tonight, including CM Punk defending the TNA World title against The Destroyer Bobby Lashley! 'Cult Of Personality' kicks off the show and the crowd rises in boos as out comes the TNA World Champion CM Punk. Punk pauses at the top of the ramp, raising the TNA World title belt before he continues down to the ring. He climbs inside and moves to the center of the ring. He sits down cross-legged in the middle of the ring and a single white spotlight shines on him. He begins by making a promise to leave TNA Genesis tonight with the TNA World title belt by defeating Bobby Lashley in the middle of the ring. He says that he is the best in the world and the only wrestler in TNA deserving to main event every single pay-per-view. Then he turns his attention to the new owner of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, Bryan Danielson. He says that he has proven time and time again that Danielson is not even HALF the wrestler that he is. If Danielson was even in his league in the ring, Danielson would still be wrestling instead of sitting on the sidelines making the matches. That is why he holds a grudge against the Best In The World. He's always been jealous of CM Punk. Punk says that he will be the one standing at the top of this company until something better comes along for him. He says that TNA is the company of WWE rejects. Take a look at the active roster with guys like Drew Galloway or his opponent tonight, Bobby Lashley. This company cannot make it's own stars. But he was always the best in the world and tonight he continues to prove that. There's no one in that locker room that can prove otherwise. Tonight, The Destroyer meets the best in the world and the best in the world walks away with a victory. Punk stands up and exits the ring, walking to the back.]

X-Division Open Challenge

Tigre Uno vs. The Great Sasuke

[The X-Division Open Challenge match begins with the former TNA X-Division Champion Tigre Uno stepping in the ring against the veteran The Great Sasuke. As one would expect, this is a fast-paced opening contest between these two high fliers. Tigre Uno scores a near fall following a diving hurricanrana. Sasuke, however, shows his veteran chops during this match and avoids a 450 Splash by Uno. Sasuke quickly begins throwing Uno with several suplexes before sending Uno out of the ring. Sasuke waits for Uno to pull himself back up and then bounces off the ropes -- Sasuke Special! A cartwheel over the top rope suicide moonsault lands on Tigre Uno! Sasuke brings the action back inside the ring and catches Uno with the Michinoku Driver! Sasuke hooks the legs: One, Two, Three!]

Winner: The Great Sasuke

X-Division Open Challenge

The Great Sasuke vs. Kenny King

[The Great Sasuke has the opening victory but down to the ring comes the King of the Night Kenny King. King brings down Sasuke with an early clothesline. He plays to the crowd before moving out to the apron, waiting for Sasuke to get to his feet. King uses the ropes as a springboard, striking Sasuke with a springboard clothesline. King pulls up Sasuke and places him on his shoulders, calling for the Royal Flush but Sasuke fights back. Sasuke strikes King with elbow shots to the side of the head before dropping to the mat behind King. Sasuke catches King with a tiger suplex, scoring a two count. Sasuke locks King in the Octopus Hold and King struggles in the submission hold. He tries to figure out a way to break the hold but there's only one way that he can break that hold. King is forced to tap out and The Great Sasuke advances once again.]

Winner: The Great Sasuke

X-Division Open Challenge

The Great Sasuke vs. Doug Williams

[The next man to face off with The Great Sasuke is the Human Torture Device Doug Williams. Williams comes running into the ring before Sasuke even releases Kenny King. Williams catches Sasuke with a blindside European Uppercut. He throws two more, knocking Sasuke back into a corner. He strikes with three straight knee lifts into the gut and then brings Sasuke over with a double underhook suplex. Williams heads to the top turnbuckle and goes for the Bombs Away Knee Drop but Sasuke avoids it and Williams strikes the mat hard with his right knee. Sasuke brings Williams down to the mat with an enzuigiri kick. He makes a cover: One, Two, Kickout! Sasuke heads to the top turnbuckle, aiming down at Williams and leaps with the Senton Atomico -- Knees Up! Williams raises his knees, hitting Sasuke as Sasuke goes for the Senton Atomico. Williams pulls himself up and grabs Sasuke from behind -- Chaos Theory! Williams holds the bridge: One, Two, Three! Doug Williams advances!]

Winner: Doug Williams

X-Division Open Challenge

Doug Williams vs. Jay Lethal

[The crowd is in shock as the next man comes down to the ring for the contest. It's Jay Lethal! Jay Lethal is back in TNA Wrestling! Lethal slides into the ring under the bottom rope and is assaulted immediately by Doug Williams. Williams stomps on Lethal, picking him up and shoving him into the corner. Williams Irish whips Lethal across the ring and follows with a running European Uppercut. Williams brings Lethal over with a snapmare and a rolling neck snap. Williams yanks up Lethal and goes for the Chaos Theory but Lethal holds onto the turnbuckle and Williams goes flipping without Lethal. Lethal catches Williams with a springboard dropkick. He heads to the top turnbuckle -- Diving Double Axehandle on Williams! The crowd gets behind Lethal as he makes a motion and catches Williams with the Lethal Injection! The handspring cutter brings Williams to the mat and Lethal makes the cover: One, Two, Three! Jay Lethal advances!]

Winner: Jay Lethal

X-Division Open Challenge

Jay Lethal vs. Christopher Daniels

[We are down to the final challenger in the X-Division Open Challenge and that challenger is 'The Fallen Angel' Christopher Daniels! Between these two wrestlers, they are 10 times former X-Division Champions. They meet in the center of the ring and Daniels slaps Lethal. Lethal shoves Daniels and then ducks a clothesline attempt. Lethal strikes Daniels with an enzuigiri and then hits the Lethal Combination! Daniels strikes the mat hard and Lethal plays to the crowd. Lethal yanks up Daniels and hits the handspring -- Lethal Inj -- NO! Daniels shoves Lethal off before he can strike with the Lethal Injection. Daniels catches Lethal with the Death Valley Driver and then drags Lethal over to a corner -- Best Moonsault Ever! The BME connects on Lethal and Daniels makes the cover: One, Two, Foot on the ropes! Somehow, Jay Lethal was able to get his right foot over the bottom rope. Daniels argues with the official and then turns back to Lethal. He pulls Lethal up and hooks him for the Angel's Wings but Lethal elevates Daniels up and over instead. The crowd gets behind Lethal and the former Black Machismo hits Daniels with the hair-pull hangman. Lethal quickly slides inside the ring as Daniels staggers around -- Lethal Injection! Lethal hits Daniels with the Lethal Injection! Lethal makes the cover: One, Two, Three! Jay Lethal wins! Jay Lethal wins on his return to Impact Wrestling!]

Winner: Jay Lethal (Via Pinfall @ 11:42)

Match Rating: C

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/TNA_2015/JayLethal.jpg

[The X-Division Open Challenge is over and the man left standing in the ring is Jay Lethal. A 'Lethal' chant is loud through this crowd in Pennsylvania as Lethal climbs to the second turnbuckle, raising his arms up and listening to the loud cheers. Lethal drops down and is handed a microphone. He calls out to TNA Wrestling that the Greatest First Generation Wrestler is back in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling! He says that he has come back to TNA to give a Lethal Injection to the X-Division here in TNA. He says that guys like Austin Aries, the so-called Greatest Man Who Ever Lived, don't have a cold chance in hell of beating him in the ring. He reminds everyone that he is a former six time X-Division Champion. That means that he is the greatest wrestler in the X-Division history. He tells everyone that there is no longer a Black Machismo here in TNA. He's not focused on being someone that he isn't. He's being Jay Lethal. He's being the man here in TNA Wrestling. Soon that means he's going to be the X-Division Champion because that is why he was put on this earth, to be the best in the world. Lethal drops the microphone and then walks off, high fiving the fans along the way. What a return tonight for Jay Lethal!]

[From the ringside area, we move to a backstage area where we follow Kurt Angle as he approaches Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team! Angle shakes hands with Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin. He tells them how great it is to be in the same promotion again. Team Angle reunited right here at TNA Genesis. Benjamin says that it's great to have Team Angle reunited and everything but he's been sitting in the back, watching and listening about this United States Open Challenge that Kurt's running now. He says that he likes the concept and he would like to take this moment to ask Angle to pencil him in next week on Impact Wrestling. Angle says all they have to do is shake hands on it and this Wednesday it's Shelton Benjamin versus Kurt Angle. Angle extends his hand and Benjamin shakes it. This is the kind of sportsmanship that has been missing from professional wrestling. What a matchup we have signed for next week!]

Match #2

Eli Drake and Kevin Nash vs. Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team

[Our second match here on TNA Genesis features the aforementioned Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team as they take on the unit of Eli Drake and Kevin Nash. The tag team experience of WGTT definitely plays out in this rather short match as they isolate Eli Drake in the ring and use frequent double teams such as a superkick from Benjamin into a German Suplex by Haas for a two count. When Drake tags in the big man, Kevin Nash does get in a few shots on both Benjamin and Haas. He gives Haas a Snake Eyes in the corner and then drops Benjamin with a big boot. When Drake tags himself back into the match, Haas manages to make a hot tag to Shelton Benjamin. Benjamin comes in with clotheslines for both Drake and Nash, knocking Nash to the floor. Benjamin catches Drake with the T-Bone Suplex and in comes Charlie Haas. They nail Drake with the leaping body guillotine. Benjamin grabs Drake -- Paydirt! The leaping reverse STO plants Drake in the center of the ring. Benjamin makes the cover: One, Two, Three!]

Winners: Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team (Via Pinfall @ 5:53)

Match Rating: C-

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/TNA_2015/TedDiBiase.jpg

[From the ring, we move to a video that features the Million Dollar Son, Ted DiBiase, Jr.. DiBiase is seated within a limo and he looks up at the camera, flashing a smile. He says that he was supposed to be in the building tonight there in Hershey, Pennsylvania but his limo driver just wouldn't drive into that part of town. Something about it being a slum area and that someone of his stature, refinement, taste and class should not be seen anywhere near that area. He says that he can understand what his driver is saying but that means he has this extra one hundred dollar bill that he has no use for. After all, he planned to give someone in Hershey, Pennsylvania an opportunity to win his money. Instead, here is what is going to happen. DiBiase pulls out a box of matches and a cigar. He places the cigar in his mouth and uses the matches to light the one hundred dollar bill! He uses the lit one hundred dollar bill to light the cigar, releasing a satisfied sigh with the puff of smoke. He tosses the burning bill in the ashtray and says that everybody has a price for the Million Dollar Son. He laughs and we fade out.]

X-Division Title Match

Austin Aries defends vs. Drew Galloway

[it is time for more X-Division action as The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived defends his X-Division title against the Leonidas of TNA Wrestling Drew Galloway. The action is hot and heavy as one would expect between these two great athletes. Galloway shows a little more aggression in this match than one has seen from him in the past since his arrival in TNA Wrestling. Early in the match, Galloway shows some power when he lifts Aries onto his shoulders and then brings him down to the mat with a double knee gutbuster. Galloway drives his forearm into the face of Aries, rubbing it tauntingly along the face. Another highlight comes when Galloway catches Aries with the Future Shock DDT! Galloway makes the cover but Aries gets his foot on the ropes at the last moment to save his title. Aries manages to fight his way back into the match and even locks Galloway in the Last Chancery but Galloway manages to find a way to break the hold. Galloway sets up Aries for the Claymore kick but Aries avoids it, sending Galloway into the corner. He catches Galloway with the discus elbow smash. Aries grabs Galloway and pulls him from the corner. He sets up Galloway for the Brainbuster but Galloway blocks. Galloway lifts Aries for a vertical suplex but Aries lands back on his feet behind Galloway. He catches Galloway with a knee to the back and then twists him around -- Brainbuster! Aries floats over into a cover, hooking the leg: One, Two, Three!]

Winner: Austin Aries (Via Pinfall @ 8:17)

Pinfalls Count Anywhere

Eric Young vs. Mr. Anderson

[Our fourth match of the evening is a Pinfalls Count Anywhere match between Eric Young and Mr. Anderson. Mr. Anderson comes out and begins his pre-match introductions but they are cut short when Young attacks Anderson from behind. Young sends Anderson into the barricade head-first and the fight is on between these two athletes. This match is the expected brawl between these two veteran wrestlers that never enters inside the ring. An early highlight between these two men has Mr. Anderson gaining control at the top of the stairs and sending Eric Young hurtling down the stairs, landing hard at the bottom with Anderson scoring a two count at the bottom of the stairs. Anderson picks up Young and the two continue their battle through the crowd and then disappear out to the hallways. Young grabs Anderson and throws him through a concession stand. He grabs a couple of shirts and throws them at Anderson before running in with a clothesline. Young goes for the Piledriver but Anderson blocks it and reverses, sending Young down hard on the floor by the concession stand. Anderson stands up, pointing toward a sign in the audience watching that reads: 'Assholes....Assemble!' Anderson grabs Young and smacks his head hard against the concrete floor. Young is bleeding from his forehead and Mr. Anderson raises his arm up. A microphone comes down hanging from a wire and Anderson smacks Young in the head with the microphone. Anderson gets on the microphone, saying that Young is about to get Mic Checked by MIIISSSTTTTAAAAAAHHHHHH Anderson...Anderson! Anderson releases the microphone and grabs Young -- Mic Check on the concrete floor! He makes the cover: One, Two, Three!]

[We are taken to a backstage boiler room here in Hersheypark Arena. Inside this darkened boiler room sits Raven, Stevie Richards, Bram, Joseph Parks and an unknown woman. The woman is curled into Raven as he looks up toward the camera. Raven says that, many years ago, Tommy Dreamer stole the woman he loved. The two of them fought for her affections and she would have remained Raven's. However, Dreamer is the one who got stuck with a woman who couldn't figure out who she loved. Now? Now, Raven has this woman who will never betray him. She will never leave him for anyone else because she is part of The Gathering. She is one of them, one of the misfits that society shuns. Tommy Dreamer is one of the ones that the fans take to. He and The Sandman have society loving them. But what about me? What about Raven? Raven has this group of men and women holding close to him. He says that they are the true best that society has to offer. But, tonight, Tommy Dreamer and The Sandman will be leaving TNA when The Gathering finishes with them. Quote the Raven...Nevermore!]

Raven & Stevie Richards vs. Tommy Dreamer & The Sandman

[The chants of 'ECW, ECW, ECW' are loud and clear throughout the entire match as the fans here in Pennsylvania enjoy this throwback match with Raven & Stevie Richards against Tommy Dreamer & The Sandman. Early highlights of the match include The Sandman catching Stevie Richards with a bulldog and then grabbing the Singapore Cane, holding it up high to loud cheers from the crowd here in Hershey. When The Sandman is putting the cane away, he gets assaulted from behind by Raven. Raven & Stevie Richards drag The Sandman into their corner and begin beating him down in the corner to the applause of MisChif, who was identified by D'Angelo Dinero on commentary. A sign is shown in the background, reading: 'WE WANT SABU!' As Raven & Richards are beating down The Sandman, television screens all over the world begin to fade to static. A voiceover begins to speak, telling people not to attempt to adjust their sets. He says that he controls the horizontal. He controls the vertical. He controls everything that they see. Goodbye. As the screen comes back, Tommy Dreamer is in the ring attacking both Raven & Stevie Richards. He has been tagged in by The Sandman. Dreamer takes down both Raven and Richards with clotheslines and extends his arms out in that cross-like fashion. He drags up Raven and hooks him for the DDT but MisChif climbs on the apron. She distracts Dreamer for just long enough for Raven to hit a low blow. Raven hooks Dreamer -- Evenflow DDT. Raven makes the cover: One, Two, Three!]

Winners: Raven & Stevie Richards (Via Pinfall @ 9:48)

[All of The Gathering hit the ring and assault Tommy Dreamer and The Sandman. It is an all out assault and the numbers game definitely put the advantage for The Gathering. This time, The Wolves do not come running out to make the save as they seem to not be in the building tonight. The Sandman is tossed out of the ring and the focus of The Gathering is on Tommy Dreamer. Raven reaches into MisChif's pocket and pulls out a pair of handcuffs. He grabs Dreamer's wrist and handcuffs Dreamer to the middle rope, stomping on him and then throwing some punches. Parks hands Raven The Sandman's cane and Raven begins striking Dreamer with the cane, busting Dreamer open. Raven nearly breaks the cane over Dreamer's head before he tosses the cane away. He moves in and grabs the right hand of Tommy Dreamer, grabbing one of his fingers and yanking on it hard. Dreamer yells out in pain, clutching that hand against his chest as Raven looks on toward Dreamer, extending his arms in that cross fashion. Officials and EMTs come running down, one with a pair of bolt cutters. The Gathering exit the ring and head to the back. The EMTs look at Dreamer and The Sandman. They help Dreamer to the back, knowing he will definitely be rushed to the hospital. As they are taken to the back, they pass a sign that reads: 'Where's Terry Funk when you need him?']

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/TNA_2015/CMPunk.jpg

[Bobby Roode is shown walking backstage. He turns a corner and goes face-to-face with CM Punk. Punk tries to walk past Roode but Roode grabs him by the throat and shoves him up against the wall, looking him in the eyes. Roode tells Punk that his little speech earlier was cute but he's not looking a WWE reject in the eyes. He's looking at a TNA Original. He's looking at the IT Factor of Professional Wrestling. He's not going anywhere except to take the TNA World title from around this spoiled punk's waist. CM Punk reaches up and slides Roode's hand from around his throat, moving to the side and coughing to catch his breath. He looks Roode in the eyes and says that Roode is nothing but a punchline. He's a joke even here in the shallow leagues of TNA. King of the Mountain champion? That's nothing compared to the TNA World title. Roode shoves Punk and then just smiles as Punk doesn't make a move on him. Roode tells Punk to enjoy his time with that title. He says that he is coming for the title and Punk is going to learn that it pays to be Roode. Roode walks off as Punk looks angry but does nothing.]

TNA Knockouts Title Match

Special Guest Referee: Brie Danielson

Gail Kim defends vs. AJ Brooks

[The TNA Knockouts title is on the line as Gail Kim defends versus AJ Brooks with Brie Danielson working as the special guest referee. An early highlight of the match has Gail Kim locking the figure four around the ring post. Brie gives a count of four and then she physically steps in to break the hold, setting up an argument between Gail Kim and Brie Danielson. Kim shoves Danielson and Danielson shoves her back right into a rollup from Brooks: One, Two, Danielson stops and smiles at Brooks for a brief moment before breaking up the pinfall. Danielson tells Brooks that she is not going to count the pinfall when it's her fault. Brooks slaps Danielson and then skips around the ring before returning her attention to Gail Kim. Brooks brings Kim to the mat with a swinging neckbreaker. She sends Gail Kim outside the ring and joins her outside, tossing Kim into the ring post. Brooks shakes her right leg, trying to get some feeling back into it after the figure four earlier. The action returns inside the ring where Brooks tries to lock Kim in the Black Widow but Kim fights the hold and brings Brooks to the mat. Kim bounces off the ropes and goes for a spear but Brooks moves out of the way and the spear catches Danielson, bringing her down to the mat. Kim sees what she's done and checks on Danielson but Brooks moves in -- Black Widow! AJ Brooks locks in the Black Widow! Gail Kim is tapping out but Brie Danielson is down and cannot count the tap out. Brooks eventually breaks the hold and begins skipping around the ring, flashing a twisted smile. She picks up Brie Danielson and puts her in a corner, slapping her again. As Brie starts to wake up, Gail Kim slides in behind AJ Brooks, rolling her up: OneTwoThree! Gail Kim keeps her TNA Knockouts title!]

Winner: Gail Kim (Via Pinfall @ 8:15)

Best Two Out Of Three Falls

Ethan Carter III vs. Matt Hardy

[it is the semi main event and one of the matches that fans are looking forward to as Ethan Carter III steps into the ring with Matt Hardy. The two men step up to each other and look eye to eye in the first few seconds after the bell sounds. The fans can tell they are taunting each other but the words cannot be heard. Carter slaps Hardy and Hardy shoves Carter to the mat. Carter backs into a corner and uses the ropes and the referee to back Hardy off while he gets to his feet. Within the first few minutes, the match goes back and forth between both Carter and Hardy. An early highlight is Hardy hitting Carter with the Side Effect and making a cover, scoring only a two count. Hardy has the crowd definitely behind him when he sends Carter out of the ring. He climbs to the top turnbuckle and leaps, catching Carter with a cross body out of the ring to the floor. Hardy stands up and raises the Hardy sign, getting the crowd cheering him on. Hardy grabs Carter and tosses him against the barricade, placing his head on the top of the barricade. He climbs on the barricade and runs toward Carter, throwing a kick but Carter moves at the last moment, tripping Hardy on the barricade. Carter grabs Hardy and drags him back into the ring. Carter sends Hardy to the corner and runs in with the EC3 Splash but Hardy moves out of the way! Hardy goes for the Twist Of Fate but Carter blocks. Carter strikes Hardy with a knee to the gut -- One Percenter! Carter makes the cover: One, Two, Three!

Ethan Carter III Wins The First Fall, Up 1-0]

[Ethan Carter III won the first fall. He picks up Matt Hardy and goes for another One Percenter but Hardy throws an elbow shot to ECIII. Hardy twists around and grabs ECIII -- Twist of Fate! Hardy makes the cover: One, Two, Foot on the ropes! Hardy starts to look a little bit frustrated as he picks up ECIII and backs him into a corner. He Irish whips ECIII across and then follows in with a corner clothesline. He grabs ECIII -- bulldog out of the corner. Hardy takes a moment to catch his breath and then bounces off the ropes -- elbow drop on ECIII! He makes a cover: One, Two, Kickout! Somehow, ECIII still has it in him to kick out. Hardy stands up and seems to be thinking about his next move. He picks up ECIII and moves him into a corner, lifting him up and sitting him on the top turnbuckle backward. Hardy turns his back and grabs ECIII by the arms, taking a step forward and dropping him with a crucifix powerbomb! Hardy needs a moment but then he makes a cover: One, Two, Shoulder Up! ECIII still gets that shoulder up! He is still in this one! Hardy looks down at ECIII and then to the top turnbuckle. Hardy climbs out on the apron and then begins climbing the turnbuckles. ECIII is starting to stir. He grabs the ropes, pulling himself to his feet. Hardy waits for ECIII to turn toward him -- Missile Drop -- NO! ECIII sidesteps the missile dropkick and Hardy crashes to the mat. ECIII exits the ring and grabs a chair from ringside. ECIII slides back in the ring, staggering on his feet. Hardy is pulling himself up and then turns -- Chair shot to the skull by ECIII! The referee calls for the bell, disqualifying ECIII.

Matt Hardy Wins The Second Fall -- We Are Tied At One Fall Apiece, Next Fall Wins]

[Ethan Carter III tosses the chair out of the ring and covers the fallen Matt Hardy: One, Two, Kickout! Matt Hardy kicks out of the pinfall attempt! ECIII's eyes are wide. He cannot believe that Matt Hardy kicked out! ECIII stands and puts the boots to Matt Hardy. Hardy's forehead is bleeding from the chair shot and ECIII pulls him up, tossing him out of the ring. ECIII joins Matt Hardy outside the ring and runs Hardy into the barricade. He walks over to the announce table and begins clearing it off as D'Angelo Dinero and Josh Mathews clear the area. ECIII picks up Matt Hardy and tosses him on top of the announce table before climbing on himself. ECIII sets up Matt Hardy for the One Percenter but a moment's hesitation gives Matt Hardy a chance to block the move. He strikes ECIII with elbow shots and then a Twist of Fate through the table! Both men are down and the official exits the ring, checking on both of them. He is refusing to count both athletes out, waiting for a proper winner to the match. Hardy is the first one to move, slowly pulling himself up. He grabs ECIII and drags him to the ring, seemingly pulling dead weight. Hardy rolls ECIII in the ring and then slides inside with him. He makes the cover: One, Two, Thre -- Foot on the ropes! How is ECIII still alive?!?! But he got his foot on the ropes to break the pinfall! Matt Hardy uses the ropes to pull himself to his feet and heads for the top turnbuckle again. Hardy looks down at the fallen ECIII and leaps -- Diving Legdrop -- MISSES! ECIII somehow rolls out of the way. He yanks himself up and grabs Hardy -- One Percenter! ECIII makes the cover: One, Two, Three!]

TNA World Title Match

CM Punk defends vs. Bobby Lashley

[The fans here in Pennsylvania have had some great matches so far and now it is time for the main event, featuring The Best In The World CM Punk defending the TNA World title against The Destroyer Bobby Lashley. Both men get their introductions to the ring with Punk being the last man to enter along with his manager and wife AJ Brooks, who lost earlier tonight to Gail Kim. The bell sounds as the two men look across at one another. They circle each other and Lashley shows his power by shoving Punk to the mat as soon as they lock up. Lashley flexes and Punk looks up toward him for a moment, cracking a smirk before he rises back to his feet. An early highlight has CM Punk taking control and lifting Lashley on his shoulders for the GTS. Lashley strikes Punk with elbow shots to the head and drops down behind him. He grabs Punk around the waist and throws him with a Release German Suplex, sending Punk flying across the ring. Punk lands hard and rolls outside the ring. Lashley gets up and joins Punk outside the ring but Punk grabs AJ Brooks and puts her between the two wrestlers. Lashley pauses but steps to the side when Punk shoves Brooks. Brooks falls to the floor and Lashley brings down Punk with a clothesline. Lashley yanks up Punk and whips him into the steel stairs. Punk cries out in pain, grabbing his back. Lashley yanks up Punk and rolls him back in the ring. He slides back in and picks up Punk, lifting him up on his shoulder. He backs into a corner -- Dominator Running Powerslam! Punk is crushed! Lashley makes the cover, hooking the far leg:]

..Kickout!]

[Lashley checks with the referee before returning his focus to CM Punk, yanking him up and whipping him into the turnbuckles. Lashley charges in and catches Punk with a running back elbow. D'Angelo Dinero reiterates that Lashley is like a tank with the engine of a sports car. Lashley maintains his control on CM Punk until a distraction by AJ Brooks changes the momentum. Brooks climbs on the apron and gets the attention of the referee and Bobby Lashley. Brooks goes to slap Lashley but Lashley catches her wrist. Behind Lashley, CM Punk is regaining his composure. He runs in and catches Lashley with a knee to the back, drawing some boos from the crowd. Brooks smiles and drops off the apron, skipping around the ring as CM Punk begins his control on Lashley. Punk focuses in on the arm and neck of Lashley during this time. Punk sends Lashley into a corner and then charges in, catching him with the step-up high knee and then the running bulldog out of the corner, bringing Lashley down to the mat. Punk looks down at Lashley and then exits the ring, climbing to the top turnbuckle. Punk slowly raises his arms in Randy Savage fashion -- Top Rope Elbow Drop right to the heart of The Destroyer. Punk goes for the Anaconda Vise but Lashley quickly gets to the ropes so that Punk cannot lock the hold in tight. Lashley drops to the floor and Punk watches him for a moment as Lashley pulls himself up. Punk bounces off the ropes -- baseball slide kick that sends Lashley into the barricade. Punk kicks Lashley in the ribs twice and then grabs him with what is known as the Pepsi Twist -- Hammerlock twisted into a lariat. Punk yells at the crowd and then rolls Lashley into the ring. He joins him inside the ring and sets Lashley on the top turnbuckle. He climbs up with Lashley and hooks him in a double underhook position -- The Pepsi Plunge! A diving double underhook facebuster! Lashley was planted on the mat. CM Punk rolls him over slowly and makes the cover:]

[....1....

....2....

...Shoulder Up!]

[The crowd is in absolute shock. CM Punk and AJ Brooks are in absolute shock! Punk looks like he knew that should have been a three count. He argues with referee Earl Hebner briefly before he returns his attention to Bobby Lashley. Punk moves back to Lashley and lifts him up, sliding around behind him. Punk hooks a full nelson and goes for the tiger suplex but Lashley blocks the hold! Lashley shows his strength as he breaks the full nelson and turns, bringing Punk down with a clothesline. Both of them fall to the mat and the crowd gets solidly behind Bobby Lashley. A 'Lashley' chant fills the arena as both men are slow to get to their feet. When they reach a vertical base, they begin exchanging punches. Lashley starts to get the advantage when Punk catches him with a roundhouse kick. Lashley blocks a second kick and then lifts Punk in a delayed vertical suplex. He shows that he still has that strength in his body, though both men are tired tonight. Lashley drops Punk with the vertical suplex and then moves to a corner. He's waiting for Punk to get to his feet. He's motioning for the Spear. Punk slowly gets to his feet as AJ Brooks tries to warn him. He staggers around as Lashley rushes from the corner -- SPEAR -- NO! Punk avoids the spear, catching Lashley with a kick to the head instead. Punk yanks Lashley up -- Go To Sleep! Punk catches Lashley with the Go To Sleep! Instead of making a cover, Punk moves in and grabs Lashley -- Anaconda Vise! Punk has the Anaconda Vise locked in at the center of the ring. Lashley refuses to give up. He is shaking his head.]

[....Punk locks the hold in tighter....]

[....The referee checks Lashley's arm once...it drops....]

[....The referee checks Lashley's arm twice...it drops....]

[....The referee checks Lashley's arm a third time...it drops!]

[....The referee immediately calls for the bell!]

Winner: CM Punk (Via Stoppage @ 27:33)

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/TNA_2015/Lashley.jpg

[CM Punk successfully defends the TNA World title belt against Bobby Lashley. Lashley is out inside the ring as Punk releases the Anaconda Vise. Punk stands up and AJ Brooks hands him the TNA World title belt. Punk raises the title belt high in the air to a plethora of boos from this capacity crowd here in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Punk and Brooks hug and kiss in the ring before CM Punk climbs to the second turnbuckle, raising the title belt high in the air. Punk drops down and has Brooks hold the ropes open for him as the two exit the ring together. Punk and Brooks walk toward the back as the referee inside the ring has some smelling salts and uses them to wake up Bobby Lashley. Lashley stirs after a moment, swatting his arm out and waving away referee Earl Hebner. For a moment, it seems like Lashley doesn't know where he is. Then it looks like it sinks in as the crowd claps for him and the great match that he put on with CM Punk. Lashley shakes his head and slams his fists down in frustration. He uses the ropes to pull himself up to his feet, staggering slightly before a figure appears at the top of the ramp. The crowd doesn't know what to make of this figure as he just stares at the ring and Bobby Lashley. He is holding a book in his hands and he raises it up, pointing the book toward Lashley. Lashley exits the ring and then gets assaulted by some fan in the audience!]

[That fan from the audience is a large man, who knocks security to the side and leaps the barricade. He grabs Lashley around the waist and runs him back-first into the apron of the ring. The smaller man who was at the top of the ramp walks his way down and begins directing the larger man, who rolls Lashley into the ring. All three men are now in the ring and the large man catches Lashley with a big clothesline. He yanks Lashley up and brings him to the mat with a scoop and a slam. Then he picks up the already tired Lashley and places him on his shoulders in the move known as the Human Torture Rack. He stretches Lashley in the hold for about a minute and a half before dropping Lashley to the mat. The smaller man grabs the microphone and says that he wants to introduce himself. He says that he is the best life coach in the business. His name is Truth Martini and he is taking control of the life of this formerly broken man. He introduces the larger man as Rycklon Stephens. He says that Lashley was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. He says that they have nothing personal against Lashley but he is just the first of many that will be destroyed on the road to the World title. He drops the microphone as Stephens flexes and the show comes to a close. We'll see you this Wednesday for Impact. Thank you for watching(reading)!]

TNA Impact Wrestling Preview!

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/TNA_2015/Impact.jpg

-TNA Genesis was this past Sunday and what a show it was. We had successful title defenses by
CM Punk
,
Gail Kim
and
Austin Aries
. We also saw the TNA return of
Jay Lethal
as he took part in the X-Division open challenge and won via the Lethal Injection over
Christopher Daniels
.

-Hailing from
Rob Van Dam
's home state of Michigan, the former TNA World Champion will get to step inside the ring with the TNA World Champion
CM Punk
in a Full Metal Mayhem match. Could we see a brand new TNA World Champion? Or will CM Punk continue to prove that he is, indeed, the Best In The World.

-We found out at TNA Genesis, who will be stepping into the United States Open Challenge.
Shelton Benjamin
spoke with
Kurt Angle
at Genesis and asked to be the man to step in the ring next with the Olympic Gold Medalist. Angle agreed and we have what should be an excellent match between these two on Impact Wrestling.

-The TNA World Tag Team titles will be on the line this week on Impact Wrestling as
The Wolves
defend against foreign stars
Ultimo Dragon
and
The Great Sasuke
. Could we see new TNA World Tag Team Champions? Or will The Wolves continue to prove that they are one of the top current tag teams in professional wrestling? Can Dragon and Sasuke work together as a tag team?

-Plus a Knockouts battle royal to determine the new top contender to
Gail Kim
's Knockouts title. There is a mystery participant in the Knockouts battle royal. What part will she play in the outcome of this match?

Comment: Spud lost all chance of a main event run when his feud with EC3 ended

I was definitely disappointed when Spud's feud with EC3 ended in real life. I really thought he would be the one to end EC3's undefeated streak.

Thank you to everyone for the predictions and comments so far. They really do inspire me.

[We are a few days removed from TNA Genesis and we are live in the Ford Fieldhouse in Detroit, Michigan. Josh Mathews and D'Angelo Dinero welcome everyone to the show and talk about how CM Punk retained the TNA World title against Bobby Lashley at Genesis by knocking The Destroyer out. 'The Final Countdown' begins to play and out from the back comes the owner of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling Bryan Danielson! Danielson leads the 'YES' chants on his way down to the ring before stepping inside and moving to the center of the ring. The Ford Fieldhouse fills with 'YES' chants as Danielson soaks them in. Danielson raises the microphone and says that without further waiting, he would like to call out the TNA World Champion CM Punk and the TNA X-Division Champion Austin Aries to this ring tonight. A pause and then 'Cult Of Personality' begins to play. The TNA World Champion CM Punk and TNA X-Division Champion Austin Aries walk out, drawing in some boos from this crowd. The two of them enter the ring and Punk raises up a microphone, telling Danielson that he forgot to address him as the Best In The World and this man as The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived but they can forgive that tonight. Danielson tells Punk to shut up. He says that if he were not on the sideline right now, he would kick Punk's cocky ass in this very ring tonight. Punk tells Danielson to bring it or to shut his mouth. One or the other because he has a busy night ahead of him. Danielson says, that's right, Punk DOES have a busy night ahead of him. He says that he heard the speech that Punk gave at Genesis. He says that Punk said there's no one in the locker room that can stop him. Well, we are going to see what happens when we test that theory. Danielson says that every single week here on Impact Wrestling, CM Punk will defend the TNA World title. Punk's eyes go wide and he starts to argue but Danielson says his first opponent is right here..]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/TNA_2015/RobVanDam.jpg

['The Whole F'N Show' by Kushinator begins to play and out from the back comes Rob Van Dam! 'RVD' chants are loud and clear in the building as the hometown boy rushes the ring with a chair in hand. RVD slides in the ring and tosses the chair to CM Punk -- Van Daminator! The chair goes flying into the skull of Punk and our TNA World Champion rolls out of the ring. Van Dam gets up and ducks a belt shot from Austin Aries. RVD turns to Aries and catches him with a roundhouse kick, sending Aries over the top rope to the floor at the feet of CM Punk! RVD shakes hands with our TNA Owner Bryan Danielson before he is handed a microphone. He looks down toward Aries and Punk and flashes a smile before he promises to win back the belt that he never lost. Tonight, the TNA World title belt comes back home to the Whole F'N Show...Rob Van Dam! His name is complete with double thumb point as Punk and Aries back up the aisle. RVD exits the ring and moves out in the crowd, celebrating with his hometown crowd. In the ring, Bryan Danielson picks up the fallen microphone and announces that tonight's main event match will be contested under Full Metal Mayhem rules!]

Rycklon Stephens vs. Micah

[Our opening contest features a man who made a big impact at TNA Genesis when he attacked Bobby Lashley, Rycklon Stephens, along with his manager Truth Martini. His opponent is the Tongan-American wrestler, Micah. Micah goes right after Stephens, seemingly unafraid of the size of Stephens. He catches Stephens with a couple of headbutts and then goes for a vertical suplex but the suplex is blocked by Big Ryck. Stephens raises Micah up for a suplex and then drops him down with a facebuster. Stephens picks up Micah and Irish whips him into the corner. He follows in with a corner clothesline and then hits multiple clotheslines in the corner. He lifts Micah up and places him on the top turnbuckle. Stephens climbs up and hooks Micah -- twisting fisherman's superplex! Micah hits the mat hard and Stephens focuses on Truth Martini for a moment. A sign is raised in the background, reading: 'Big Ryck in the house!' Martini raises the book in his hands and Stephens walks back over to Micah. He lifts Micah to his feet and then up on his shoulders -- Human Torture Rack! Micah is stuck on the rack and within moments he is forced to submit.]

Winner: Rycklon Stephens (Via Submission @ 6:26)

Match Rating: D-

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/TNA_2015/TruthMartini.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/TNA_2015/RycklonStephens.jpg

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/TNA_2015/Lashley.jpg

[Following the victory by Rycklon Stephens, Truth Martini enters the ring with a microphone. He motions for Stephens to put down Micah and he unceremoniously drops Micah to the mat. Stephens flexes behind Truth Martini, who raises the microphone. Martini says that for those of you who are too cheap to buy pay-per-view, he is Truth Martini, the leader of the House Of Truth. He says that last Sunday night, this man, Rycklon Stephens, made an impact here in TNA when he took out the man you all call the Destroyer. He was, you could say, the destruction of the Destroyer. Martini says that after that beating you cannot expect to see Bobby Lashley come back in a TNA -- 'Domination' proves Martini wrong as out from the back comes Bobby Lashley! Lashley runs to the ring and slides inside, tripping Stephens up and the brawl begins between the two wrestlers. Both men are throwing punches and rolling around as they try to gain some form of advantage. Referees and Road Agents come out from the back to separate these two men. Stephens gets in a glancing blow as both men are being separated.]

[From the ringside area, we move backstage where we find Jessie talking to someone backstage. Jessie tells this person that she is the best Knockout in TNA history. Of course, she will be the one to walk out as the number one contender to the Knockouts title in this battle royal. He says that she can even beat up some of the men on the roster so a couple of dames shouldn't be an issue. He leans in to give this mystery woman a kiss and the camera zooms back to reveal who he has been talking to: Tara! Tara is back in TNA Wrestling! Tara pulls back from the kiss and says that inside of a month she will be the new Knockouts Champion in a place where wrestling matters. She links arms with Jessie and the two of them walk off together. The Knockouts battle royal is next!]

TNA 10 Knockouts Battle Royal

#1 Contenders Match

AJ Brooks vs. Madison Rayne vs. Brie Danielson vs. Jade vs. Marti Belle vs. Taryn Terrell vs. Thea Trinidad vs. Velvet Sky vs. Awesome Kong vs. Tara

[Ten Knockouts step in the ring for this battle royal match to determine the new number one contender to the Knockouts title. Old and new rivalries definitely show themselves as The Beautiful People do battle with the Dollhouse and AJ Brooks and Thea Trinidad go after Brie Danielson. Awesome Kong is given the most eliminations as she eliminates Jade, Marti Belle, Velvet Sky and Thea Trinidad before being eliminated by Madison Rayne. The final four in the ring are Madison Rayne, Brie Danielson, Tara and AJ Brooks. Rayne goes after Tara and Danielson continues her battle with AJ Brooks. Tara catches Rayne with a bear hug and brings her over to the top rope. She tries to toss Rayne over but Rayne catches the top rope with her leg. She is hanging on for dear life as Tara stomps on her. In the other corner, Brie Danielson has taken control of AJ Brooks. She has her up in the corner and is throwing punches. The crowd counts along with each punch as Tara leaves Rayne and moves over toward AJ and Brie. When Brie gets to that tenth punch, Tara grabs her and tosses her over the top rope to the floor. AJ Brooks throws a forearm shot to Tara but Tara no-sells and grabs AJ, lifting her up on her shoulders. She sends AJ over the top rope to the floor and begins celebrating. In the background, Madison Rayne rolls back in the ring under the bottom rope. Rayne rushes up to Tara and grabs her by the hair, rushing her to the ropes but Tara reverses things as they reach the ropes and she sends Rayne over the top rope to the floor. Tara is your winner!]

Winner: Tara (Via Over-The-Top-Rope Elimination @ 10:17)

[Jessie comes rushing down to the ring to celebrate with his girl, Tara. She is the new number one contender to the TNA Knockouts title! Jessie lifts her up and swings her around before he sets her back down. He goes and gets a microphone, handing it to her. Tara says that she wants to address a bit of an elephant in the room right now. In a previous interview, she stated that she would never work for TNA again. She kept her promise. She would never work for the same regime that ran TNA before. Now, there's a new TNA. There's a new TNA where wrestling matters because the owner is first and foremost a wrestler. She says that she may not always see eye to eye with Bryan Danielson but he is a man who will always have her respect. Now, we look toward Against All Odds in February where she will step in the ring with the current TNA Knockouts Champion Gail Kim. She reminds everyone that four years ago, at Against All Odds, she challenged Gail Kim for the Knockouts title and she lost. She says that is not going to happen again because this year is the year of Tara and Jessie. This year she is going to shine like no one has shone before. It will all be with her man. She kisses Jessie and the two of them celebrate before heading toward the back.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/TNA_2015/EricYoung.jpg

[We are taken to the backstage area where we come across Eric Young. The announcers remind everyone that he lost to Mr. Anderson in a falls count anywhere match at TNA Genesis. Young has a blue and white duffel bag and he seems to be filling it with clothes from a locker. He is muttering to himself that he doesn't need this stupid company anymore. He says that he should be the man in TNA. He is a TNA original! But he's stuck in these meaningless matches with guys like Mr. Anderson. Guys who aren't even really in his league. He says that Anderson scored a fluke victory at Genesis and everyone wants to crown him. Well, they can crown him all they want because Eric Young is out of here. He says he is sick and tired of being treated like a loser and a joke in this company. So he quits! He quits TNA! He finishes filling the duffel bag and closes it, tossing it over his shoulder. He looks at the camera, yelling at the cameraman, asking what he wants. When he gets no response, he shoves the cameraman out of the way and walks away. Is this the last that we've seen of Eric Young in TNA?]

Kenny King vs. Spud

[An X-Division match is next as the King of the Night Kenny King takes on the ultimate underdog in Spud. The beginning of the match has King dominating Spud and showing his anger at losing the match last week on Impact Wrestling. King brings Spud down with an enzuigiri kick and then heads to the top turnbuckle. King goes for a missile dropkick but Spud avoids and King lands hard on the back of his head. Spud gets the crowd fired up when he gets to his feet. Spud catches King with a hurricanrana, bringing him to the mat. The Underdog brings down King with a drop toe hold and then heads to the top turnbuckle -- Missile Dropkick from Spud! King rolls out of the ring to catch a break but Spud leaps onto the apron and then runs, taking King down with a cross body block outside the ring! The action returns to the ring and Spud catches King with a couple of European uppercuts and then a kick to the gut -- DDT! Spud pops back up and screams, getting the momentum and the crowd behind him. Spud exits the ring and climbs to the top turnbuckle. He points down toward King -- 5 Stone Spud Splash! Spud makes the cover, hooking the leg: One, Two, Three! Spud wins! Spud wins! Spud wins!]

Winner: Spud (Via Pinfall @ 6:24)

WRESTLING NEXT WEEK

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/TNA_2015/EthanCarterIII.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/TNA_2015/Tyrus.jpg

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/TNA_2015/BryanDanielson.jpg

['Trouble' begins to play and out from the back comes the former TNA World Champion, the man who beat Matt Hardy at TNA Genesis two falls to one, Ethan Carter III, along with his bodyguard Tyrus. The two men look focused as they enter the ring and ECIII has a microphone. ECIII tells all the mouthbreathers here in Michigan to shut their mouths because he has something important to say. This past Sunday night at TNA Genesis he stepped into the TNA ring against Matt Hardy without Tyrus at his back. It was just a one on one match and he defeated Matt Hardy in the center of the ring two falls to one. So he is still unpinned and unsubmitted. So now there is someone here in TNA that he is calling out to this ring. That man is the TNA Owner Bryan Danielson! ECIII says that he will stay right here with Tyrus until...He cannot finish because 'The Final Countdown' interrupts him and out from the back comes Bryan Danielson. Danielson begins the 'YES' chants at the top of the ramp before he jumps his way down to the ringside area. He climbs the stairs and enters the ring with a microphone in hand. He motions to ECIII to say his peace. ECIII says that with his victory last Sunday night over Matt Hardy, he has EARNED a shot at the TNA World title and CM Punk. Danielson asks the crowd if they want to see ECIII get a shot at CM Punk and a 'NO' chant fills the arena with scatterings of 'YES'. Danielson smiles and says that he feels that ECIII hasn't quite earned a title shot. However, he is going to give ECIII the opportunity to earn a title shot. He just has to beat one more man at Against All Odds and the title shot is his. ECIII asks who he is going to face. Danielson smiles and says that he's glad ECIII asked. You see, you might notice that Danielson was not at TNA Genesis this past Sunday night. That was due to this new signing that became official as of Sunday night. This man will be ECIII's opponent at TNA Against All Odds. Danielson motions to the back and a man walks out with a hoodie covering his face. ECIII yells, asking who this is and 'Get Ready To Fly' begins to play.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/TNA_2015/AJStyles.jpg

[it's The Phenomenal AJ STYLES! The hoodie is tossed back to reveal Styles and he extends his arms out in his trademark celebration as the crowd goes wild. An 'AJ Styles' chant begins to sound over the crowd as ECIII goes crazy inside the ring. ECIII yells that this isn't fair! He says he had no idea that AJ Styles would be in the building tonight. Styles walks right down to the ring and steps inside. He looks at ECIII and raises a microphone, telling Carter to shut the hell up. Styles says that he has finally come back home to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. He says that after he left, he heard about some jerk that came into his company and tried to take over. Some guy who has gone unpinned and unsubmitted. But he doesn't look like much now that they're in the ring. ECIII smirks and holds back Tyrus before turning his attention to Styles. Styles catches ECIII with a clothesline and ducks a clothesline attempt by Tyrus -- Pele Kick to Tyrus! Tyrus and ECIII exit the ring and AJ Styles stands tall beside Bryan Danielson. Danielson says that AJ Styles will be making his in-ring return next week right here on Impact Wrestling when he renews his rivalry with Christopher Daniels! Danielson shakes hands with Styles and the two exit the ring, high fiving the fans along the way.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/TNA_2015/CMPunk.jpg

[We go from the ringside area to the backstage area where we find Bobby Roode...walking! He turns a corner and walks right into the TNA World Champion CM Punk. Roode smirks and says that this is the man that he has been looking for. Punk says that he has nothing to say to Roode. Roode says that it's fine because he's the one that will do all the talking. Roode informs CM Punk that if he survives as the TNA World Champion until Against All Odds, then he's looking at the man that he's going to have to defend the belt against. The King of the Mountain Champion versus The TNA World Champion. Punk gets serious and says that he will have an easy match on pay-per-view, then. He says that Roode is not half the man that he is and not even a quarter of the wrestler. Roode tells Punk that he better not bet on that because at the end of Against All Odds, he will be the one celebrating with the TNA World title in one hand and a beer in the other hand. Punk says that he knows exactly who to bet on. He says that there is no one in this company that can stop him. He moves away from Roode and Roode just smirks as he watches Punk walk away.]

TNA World Tag Team Titles Match

The Wolves defend vs. Ultimo Dragon and The Great Sasuke

[Our next contest features the TNA World Tag Team titles on the line as The Wolves defend against the tag team of Ultimo Dragon and The Great Sasuke. The match is filled with a lot of high flying action between these four men. Eddie Edwards gets trapped in the corner of Dragon and Sasuke and they use frequent tags in and out to keep Edwards down and away from his corner. Sasuke catches Edwards with a Dragon Suplex, bridging for a two count. Sasuke heads to the top turnbuckle and goes for the Senton Atomico but Edwards rolls out of the way! The crowd gets behind The Wolves as Edwards crawls toward his corner. Sasuke crawls toward Ultimo Dragon. Tags are made on both sides and both men charge toward the center of the ring. They exchange punches and then kicks. Richards leaps over a sweep by Dragon and then yanks him up -- Fireman's Carry Gutbuster. Richards ducks a clothesline attempt by Sasuke and then catches him with the double knee backbreaker. In comes Eddie Edwards to help out. They call for the Force Of Nature on Dragon as Eddie Edwards lifts the veteran wrestler to his feet. He yanks Dragon up in the power bomb position -- Force Of Nature! Richards makes the cover, hooking the leg: One, Two, Three! The Wolves successfully defended the TNA World Tag Team titles tonight. What team is next?]

Van Dam says that this is in his hometown and in his element when he steps into Full Metal Mayhem. He reminds everyone that he never lost the TNA World title when he had it before. He was forced to give it up due to an injury and an attack by Abyss. But that World title reign is going to return the gold around his waist. Van Dam says that he had a choice on whether to return to the WWE or come to TNA. He says that he chose to come to the promotion where wrestling matters. This is a place where the term professional wrestling can be spoken without worry of being fined or fired. And who is the best professional wrestler in the world? That can only be one man and that is Rob Van Dam! RVD does the double thumb point and we move back to the ring.]

United States Open Challenge

Shelton Benjamin vs. Kurt Angle

[Our semi main event is a great one as one half of Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team Shelton Benjamin takes on the Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle. The first minute is spent with back and forth mat wrestling between the two men and a couple of stalemates. The momentum turns when Angle manages to catch Benjamin around the waist and throws him with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Angle moves in and locks Benjamin in a bodyscissors. He holds Benjamin tight in the hold and Benjamin barely manages to make it to the ropes to break the hold. Angle gets to his feet and pulls Benjamin up. He knocks Benjamin back into a corner and then charges, striking Benjamin with a clothesline in the corner. Angle pulls Benjamin out and slips behind him, grabbing a rear waistlock. Benjamin blocks the German Suplex attempt and then reverses the rear waistlock. He shoves Angle forward. Angle turns around -- Superkick floors Angle to the mat. Benjamin makes a cover: One, Two, Kickout! The match continues to move forward between both these men with both men having a brief advantage. Benjamin sends Angle into a corner and follows with a running knee but Angle moves and Benjamin strikes the corner with his knee. Benjamin grabs the knee and Angle moves in quickly -- Angle Slam! Benjamin is planted on the mat. Angle grabs the ankle -- Ankle Lock! Angle grapevines the leg and holds the ankle hard as Benjamin reaches for the ropes. Benjamin tries to get there but he is forced to tap out. Kurt Angle with the big win here tonight.]

[The match is over and Kurt Angle releases the hold, sliding back away from Shelton Benjamin. Angle pulls himself up in a corner and then walks over to a hurting Benjamin. He offers his right hand to help Benjamin up and Benjamin hesitates a moment before taking the hand. Benjamin is pulled up to his feet and he shakes hands with Kurt Angle in a show of sportsmanship. The two men hug and then Benjamin raises the arm of Angle, conceding the victory to Kurt Angle. Benjamin exits the ring and walks toward the back, being passed by another wrestler. That other wrestler is Doug Williams. Williams enters the ring and goes face-to-face with Kurt Angle. He says that this has truly been an All-American United States Open Challenge. But when Angle created this open challenge he said he would face anyone from any country. So, Doug Williams challenges Kurt Angle to a match next week. Angle asks for and receives a microphone. He says that if Doug Williams wants a match next week then he's got it. But he's facing the man who won an Olympic Gold Medal with a broken freaking neck. That means that it's going to be real. It's going to be damn real. Angle and Williams go face-to-face in the ring but no violence breaks out.]

The two talk about what a lineup they have set up for next week's show, which includes AJ Styles versus Christopher Daniels, Doug Williams answering the United States Open Challenge against Kurt Angle and the in-ring debut of Ted DiBiase, Jr. What a great show it should be already! This is the place where wrestling matters. Their discussion is interrupted by the arrival of Jay Lethal. Lethal shakes hands with both Bryan and Brie. He says that it feels great to be back here in TNA Wrestling. He says that he has some things to finish that he never finished when he was here before, including becoming the TNA World Champion. Bryan says that he's happy that Jay Lethal made the decision to return to TNA and he has a special surprise for him. Next week, right here on Impact Wrestling, he is going to grant Jay Lethal his X-Division title match against Austin Aries. Bryan says that Lethal earned that title match by winning the X-Division Gauntlet match at Genesis and he knows that Lethal will not disappoint him. Lethal thanks Bryan for the opportunity. He hugs Bryan and then hugs Brie. He says that he will be injecting the X-Division with a Lethal Injection next week. He turns and walks off as we head to the ring for our main event.]

TNA World Title Match

Full Metal Mayhem Match

CM Punk defends vs. Rob Van Dam

[The entire ringside area is surrounded by metal objects, including ladders and chairs and the metal ring steps. This match is Full Metal Mayhem. The only way to win the contest is to climb the ladder and secure the TNA World title, which is hanging from the ceiling. Rob Van Dam comes out from the back first and he gets assaulted from behind by CM Punk during his entrance! Punk slams RVD's head into the barricade and drags RVD down to the ringside area. He Irish whips RVD into a ladder, sending the ladder over to the floor. Punk drops to a knee, checks his watch and declares that it's clobbering time! Punk picks up a chair and slams it over the back of RVD, running the Whole F'N Show into the ring post. Punk grabs a ladder and closes it, sliding the ladder into the ring. He walks around to RVD and RVD catches him with a mule kick. RVD rolls CM Punk in the ring and then joins him inside after grabbing a chair. CM Punk tries to cover it up, asking for a time-out as he backs into a corner. RVD doesn't back down, though. He stomps on CM Punk in the corner several times and then raises the chair. He runs around the ring and then surfboards the chair into CM Punk's face! RVD makes a bow to the crowd, who begin a 'RVD' chant. RVD places the chair on the ground and pulls CM Punk from the mat. Punk catches RVD with a low blow, there are no disqualifications here. Punk hooks RVD with a swinging neckbreaker, bringing RVD to the mat. Punk grabs a ladder and opens it, setting it up in the center of the ring. After a moment, he begins to climb the ladder. He gets about halfway up before RVD grabs him from behind. RVD yanks CM Punk off the ladder and brings him over with a German Suplex to the mat!]

[The match moves forward, going back and forth between the two athletes in the ring. This is definitely the place where wrestling matters. AJ Brooks has moved down to ringside. Around the ten minute mark, RVD is in firm control. He brings CM Punk to the mat with a monkey flip and then bounces off the ropes -- Rolling Thunder! RVD stands up and begins the double thumb point before hitting Punk with a standing moonsault. RVD looks around and then sets up the ladder in the corner. What is he planning? RVD staggers over to the turnbuckles and climbs up. He leaps across to the ladder and climbs to the top of the ladder with CM Punk down on the mat. RVD looks around for a moment and then gives the double thumb point. He leaps from the top of the ladder -- Five Star Frog Splash! He connects with his finisher from the top of the ladder onto CM Punk! RVD rolls over, grabbing his own ribs as that move had to hurt both men. The crowd stands up, shouting the 'RVD' chant as Rob Van Dam pulls himself up. He grabs the ladder and slowly moves it to the center of the ring. RVD points to the TNA World title belt and begins to slowly climb the ladder. He is definitely hurting right now and his movements are very slow. He gets high on the ladder as CM Punk stirs on the mat. Punk begins to climb the ladder as RVD gets his fingertips on the belt. Punk reaches the top before RVD can grab the belt and the two men begin exchanging punches. Punk grabs RVD and bounces his head off the top of the ladder. Punk swings around the ladder and hooks RVD in a double underhook on top of the ladder -- Pepsi Plunge off the top of the ladder and onto a chair on the mat! The crowd goes wild as both men are down on the mat. Punk caught RVD with the Pepsi Plunge off the ladder and onto a chair! Punk slowly begins to move first. He crawls to the ladder and begins to climb up. Punk slowly pulls himself up, yanking his way higher and higher here in Michigan. Punk reaches out and grabs the TNA World title, yanking it free and then falling to the mat. CM Punk wins!]

[CM Punk has successfully defended the TNA World title belt against Rob Van Dam here in Michigan! What a huge victory for the man who calls himself The Best In The World. AJ Brooks enters the ring, checking on her husband as he lies there on the mat. Instead of his music playing, though, 'The Final Countdown' begins to play. Out from the back comes the TNA Owner Bryan Danielson and standing beside him is Matt Hardy! Danielson and Hardy stand at the top of the ramp. Danielson says that he would like to announce CM Punk's opponent next week right here on TNA Impact Wrestling for the TNA World title. That man is the man who will not die, Matt Hardy! Hardy has a microphone and says that he may have had a few setbacks here recently but the ultimate goal is right in front of him. That goal is to become TNA World Champion and next week CM Punk is going to learn that Matt Hardy...will...not...die! Hardy throws up the Hardy symbol as CM Punk looks toward him from inside the ring. What a show we will have next week! It's almost pay-per-view worthy! We'll see you for XPlosion!]

TNA XPLOSION!

The show begins with a recap from last Wednesday night's TNA Impact Wrestling, including a focus on the main event contest. This one featured CM Punk defending the TNA World title against Rob Van Dam in a Full Metal Mayhem match! RVD came within inches of claiming the TNA World title belt but in the end it was a Pepsi Plunge off the top of the ladder and onto a chair that gave CM Punk the victory.

Match 1

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Christopher Daniels defeated Chris Melendez in 6:22 by pinfall with a B.M.E..=D+

We are taken to a promo, featuring Bobby Lashley. Lashley says that he took a beating at TNA Genesis from Rycklon Stephens. He can admit when that happens. He says that Rycklon is a tough wrestler and can put some wrestlers in body casts. But Lashley says that he is not just some wrestler. He says that Stephens is going to find himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. That wrong place will be on the receiving end of a spear.

Match 2

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Madison Rayne defeated Awesome Kong in 5:49 by pinfall with a fast roll up.=D

We go to a promo that focuses on one particular member of The Gathering, Stevie Richards. 'Dancing' Stevie Richards talks about the fact that his master, Raven, broke Tommy Dreamer's finger at TNA Genesis. He says that Raven was very happy about what happened. He says that maybe he has ended TNA of guys like Dreamer and The Sandman. But The Gathering will move on and move forward. Richards says that soon The Gathering will be gathering the gold here in TNA.

We are taken to another promo, this one features Matt Hardy. Hardy says that he has faced some setbacks in his war against Ethan Carter III. He says that he was unable to beat ECIII at Genesis but that's the past. Right now he has to focus on the future, which includes this Wednesday night when he will take on CM Punk for the TNA World title. There will be no special stipulations. There will be nothing except for him and Punk inside the ring. He says that the two of them have a history. CM Punk has a history with his family. But this Wednesday night, CM Punk is going to learn that Matt Hardy will not die!

Match 3

In an extremely poor match, Spud defeated Trevor Lee in 5:38 by pinfall with a 5 Stone Spud Splash.=E+

Another promo before we get to the main event. This one features Matt Morgan. Morgan talks about making his return to professional wrestling. Morgan says that he didn't return to wrestling just to get ignored. He says that he returned to become the TNA World Champion. He reminds everyone that he is the blueprint of professional wrestling, the DNA of TNA. He says that soon CM Punk is going to have to deal with him and he will make sure that the Best In The World falls to the mat with the Carbon Footprint.

Match 4

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Ethan Carter III defeated Charlie Haas in 10:30 by pinfall with a One Percenter.=C

Following the victory, Ethan Carter III begins to celebrate inside the ring with Tyrus. ECIII gets on the microphone and says that it's not fair that he has to fight AJ Styles at Against All Odds to get a World title shot and Matt Hardy just gets gifted one. But that is the way that all these liberals are right now. They think that the one percent should give more than those who are lower than them. Well, he will beat AJ Styles and then reclaim HIS TNA World title. ECIII continues to celebrate as the show comes to a close.
