Your Wackiest Booking Decisions.

Recommended Posts

So as we are approaching the end of the life cyrcle of the awesomeness that was TEW 2013,what better way to celebrate sayd awesomeness than to share our wackiest storielines and booking moments from our careers.

To kick it off here is mine. This was in the Cverse XL mod.I had recently signed Man Mountain Cahill for a created fed and I was looking for a suitable gimmick for him.I was out of ideas,so I started clicking around, until I noticed a specific line in the ALPHA fed, stating that their wrestlers fight sharks. Thus the Man vs Wild gimmick was born, wich showed MAN (mountain Cahil) and his trusted guide Ernie travel all around the world, with MAN wrestling a new animal every show, before coming back to the US to get revenge against Clara The Cow(who was the first animal he fought and the only that beat him). The gimmick went on with him and Clara been a keyfabe unit and him shitting on mant ocasions in promos that he beat a grizzly bear(by DQ but still...)

How about yours?

Having a heel Shawn Michaels go over a returning Ultimate Warrior at the 1995 Wrestlemania. The idea was that HHH would interfere and it would begin the formation of DX, but having a heel go over at Mania was pretty dumb.

In my very first save I used the keep strong road agent not for every single match not realizing that it killed the match rating.

After having Madison Eagles be a walking tall Babyface in CHIKARA, and Stryker be the anti-fun authority/lead heel, one show featured Eagles going into Bizaro CHIKARA, where everyone on the roster was sporting fake mustaches. The normally quiet Evie was a big bossy mess, and this alternate's Eagles was a wuss, who was bossed around. Evie was shocked when Eagles stood up for herself.

Anyways, Stryker was the top babyface in bizaro land, using an inflatable hammer, etc. At the end of the show, Eagles left the arena, and ended up back in the "real" world, complete with simpering Evie trying to get through the doorway.

Same CHIKARA game had a living statue (Chris Masters) named The Masterpiece.

I booked in him in WCW 1996 as the star of my Saturday Night roster. He held the Television title and I ran almost a full year where he would beat everyone on Saturday Night as a fun babyface managed by Sunny before she finally turned heel on him. I did a lot of weird angles with them. Essentially she was sexually attracted to him and he had no understanding of it. She turned on him when he became attracted to Reggie Bennett.</p>

Big Smack Scott, SWF World Champion. Essentially plugged a storyline where an unhinged Scott began using his size and general carelessness for other people to just take them out, starting with Christian Faith who he 'put on the shelf' backstage for 4 months. It meant people like Jack Bruce and a face turned Rich Money (out of the respect Faith had for the business) began targeting Scott, but his backup of Laramee and Primus Allen kept the numbers game strong and allowed him to go on his rise. Went over Money at some point in the year, leading to a 6 man where Faith was to return alongside Money (the anti-face who had respect for tradition but still and ego) and Bruce (who was a showman with an ego) against Laramee, Scott and Primus. Never got around to booking that angle though.

<p>I'm going full-on crazy with a Thunderverse game right now:</p><p> </p><p>

I have jobber tag teams with the first randomly generated names that came up (Onslaught, Urban Gladiators, etc.)</p><p> </p><p>

I have Timothy Hawk thinking he's an MMA badass ever since Drake Richards hit him with a foreign object. </p><p> </p><p>

Marshal Law turned face and is now working a trucker gimmick as Trucker Marts.</p><p> </p><p>

Immortal Warrior became Detective Warrior and is looking into the sudden disappearance of Marshal Law.</p>

I booked a Simon Ice storyline :o

I also kept having Kirk Jameson win my company's top title. It wasn't deliberate - my matches in that save never had set finishes to keep it interesting.

But Jameson never really delivered good matches (well, not main event good) and whenever he got the belt my show grades suffered. I couldn't bring myself to book him to lose, though, not while still being true to the game. I had to run with it, and try and line up Steven Parker/KC Glenn to take over from him... but they kept losing matches they should have won :p

Mine easily has to be booking myself as the face of the company I made myself world champ and in 2014 save broke Taker's streak even though I was just an Upper Mid also I made Orton put Slater over and have the MITB cashed in the night it expired.

<p>The wackiest was probably pushing Ben Williams to upper midcard, even if was in a small company. </p><p> </p><p>

I did have Chris Caulfield be the face of USPW once, and turned Nicky Champion heel to feud with him. Probably not the greatest idea.</p>

Well, it was on a WWE game I was having fun with. I had Reigns pushed with a Braveheart gimmick, had Finn Balor as an Irish Dancer and he would tag with...Hornswoggle, best team in the company at one point, then I had a storyline where Becky Lynch turned him heel and they won the Intergender tag titles twice.

Created a worker named "Bob Muffin", gave him the finisher "Muffin Top" and his signature catch phrase, "Because Bob Muffin wants it." to be delivered deadpan. Skilled him out for the Heidenreich challenge only with zero physical skills and 100s in entertainment. Had him beat Steve Frehley in a 1 minute squash for the title.

Why? Buddy of mine said I could never get a 0 pop 0 skill worker as World Champ over.

He was wrong.

You should've given him Mr. Peppermint as his manager while you were at it. :p

The wackiest thing I've probably done was giving Jake Roberts forming a faction with Undertaker, Paul Bearer, Kevin Sullivan and Papa Shango as the WWF's version of the Dungeon of Doom. Just without the Yeti dry humping Hulk Hogan.

Something I've joked about with others from this board in Skype chats and have thought about doing is running a save as one of the Von Erichs and running World Class as wacky as possible, with the premise being that they thought they were good ideas at the time after getting high.

In the 1987 database as WWF.

At Wrestlemania 4, Jake the Snake Roberts defeated an actual Bear (gentle Ben) in the semi Main event.

The wacky thing was Jake carrying the feud to a 3 month build, not facing each other until WM4 ... Including the bear eating Damian.

Was doing the 88 mod. I accidentally signed Vader to a PPA contract instead of a written contract. I was pushing the hell out him with the idea that he would be a monster heel that could draw with Hogan long term.

But since I screwed his contract up, a Japanese company signed him to a touring contract and I wasn't notified until it was too late to fix the contract.

So his last show with me, I had him get destroyed by my character in 4 minutes, he lost a bikini contest to Ms. Elizabeth, and the final segment had warrior putting Vader through a table in the backstage area.

Vader refused to resign with me after his tour was up.
