cappyboy Posted July 24, 2017 Share Posted July 24, 2017 For me, Winter. the first things that come to mind is are a couple Kevin Von Erich feuds. With the way you say you intend to use him, he could be a defender of the old school. Acting mostly face and defending his fellow wrestlers with honor, trying to play by the rules and wrestling matches with a "may the best man win" attitude. But being skeptical of guys who represent new ways that go against that. The first feud I see him having is with Cactus Jack. I'm pretty sure the Von Erichs were still at the top of the USWA when young Foley would have been there contending with the likes of Eric Embry. Kevin could do an interview on how he views the WWF landscape and express skepticism that Foley belongs. That he's too much of a wildcard and could get someone seriously hurt. Foley could then youthfully overreact, take that as Kevin threatening to run him out of the company, and the war could be on. The other is Ken Shamrock. Where you are is right about the period of the Brawl For All and the WWF trying to capitalize on the rise of MMA before the two could become too separate from one another. Kevin could in character view this intermingling as a threat to wrestling. The views of the uninitiated toward MMA during it's initial rise were very harshly critical after all. Comparisons to "human cock fighting" and the like. Kevin could express this misguided viewpoint and therefore be disappointed in Shamrock selling out to this new thing. Remark on how Shamrock was a wrestler first and how he used to respect Ken for his battles with Robert Fuller and his army in Tennessee. But that changed when Ken sold out to MMA and started "dancing with the devil". Shamrock naturally takes offense at all this and makes it his goal to enlighten Kevin by force. Dan refuses.. Gary sets to teach him a lesson, firstly pitting Rick Martel against him, he badly fails.. then he sends out the crazy Cactus Jack.</p><p> </p><p> Thinking maybe down the road. Kev will turn Heel and be helped by Lawler and Jarrett as defends of old school. Targeting the crossover guys like Dan Severn and Shamrock (maybe Steve Williams aswell) Shamrock and co have the legit skill but Defenders of the Old School have cunning and tricks up their sleeves. </p><p> </p><p> I'm deciding on what to do with the Bret v Owen feud. I want Bret to have a great reign but I want Owen to have a reign and set up him as major Main Eventer. I want an NWA consisting of WCW, NJPW, and AAA as the major forces of each country, with USWA and/or SMW to keep the southern wrestling aspect of NWA. ECW and the two women's companies that are already there could stay as well. Of course AAA in this database is part the Mexican wrestling committee and being the dumbass that I am, I never noticed it until I was too far gone. NJPW also blocked my attempts to invite the southern promotions because they were too small. Now I'm thinking of two things: Since in reality NJPW pretty much bailed on the NWA after Muta lost the title, I think of maybe expelling them and then inviting those two promotions in. Now I don't know if I'd be successful in kicking them out, but the plan is two invite USWA and SMW without NJPW's interference. Before kicking them out, I'd have to sign a working agreement with them so I could keep the talent-trading. The thing is I don't know how long until I could invite NJPW back and I'm not sure if I could cheese through it. The second plan would be to abandon the NWA much like WCW eventually would in 1993 and create an alliance called 'WCW International'. In this scenario, I would have NJPW leave NWA as well and join my new alliance. So umm....I'm looking for some advise, I guess. You could either run it as an entirely new gimmick, sort of self-appointed arbiter of right and wrong in AWA, or if you wanted to retain some of the supernatural Kane/Undertaker vibe, you could use 'acts of god' (lightning, fire, water, etc.). I'm going to run him under a completely new gimmick, the gimmick you suggested sounds like a good idea that I may run with, may not keep any of the supernatural vibes though. Do you think Paul Bearer could still be suited to be the manager or do you think James Mitchell would definitely be the firm choice? Before he was Paul Bearer, he was Percival Pringle the Third. The gimmick being that of a whiny mama's boy of means who bought his way to wrestling prominence with the family money. With that dramatic a gimmick range in his repertoire, Bearer might well be made to work here.</p><p> </p><p> But a guy that could come to my mind would be Bruce Prichard as Brother Love. Have him sway Kane to being his enforcer against those who don't practice his version of love correctly. Could be very Orwellian with Prichard fighting the "unloving" and thought policing the roster. Especially if you introduced Prichard as a supposed friend of Greg Gagne and it appeared he had the support of the AWA's founding family. Slaughter gad his military gimmick. </p><p> </p><p> But how could one realistically take it? </p><p> </p><p> Ive introduced a Junior Heavyweight division. </p><p> </p><p> Everything is based on legit wrestling skill.
