What sort of Product does a company want if you were simulating a "classic, golden-age" wrestling company? Like, Strangler Lewis or Gorgeous George days?

It's not Traditional, although I like to call it that. I set a company to Traditional and was rather surprised to see it demanded all sorts of gimmicks. (I guess nobody told Bruno Sammartino that.) I tried also setting it to Pure, but it requires a very high match intensity. Traditionally these guys wrestled back to back days and nights. I don't see what category to try next.

I don't run the performance feds often, so I am limited in what I can say, but in my experience they tend to be actually easier to book and to get workers over in as you just have to find workers with good skills and put them in good matches. It is entirely possible (although quite unlikely) to get two workers to put on a B+/A level match even when neither has B level overness in a performance fed if they are good enough wrestlers. Its not possible in a WWE type fed where popularity matters too much to allow the fans to give an A rating to such a matchup.

This is quite true. My very first show (in Japan, Puro based) as a Local I had a B- when both workers were looking at somewhere in the F for popularity.

In the space of 2-3 months, Jack went from a 64 with Larry Z to an 82 in their second match. Jack was not wrestling much in between their matches. Before the shows, I've had messages about Flair teaching Cactus Jack. Definitely helps their grades move up faster if they have a mentor in the same company. I doubt Cactus would be capable of the second rating without the help of Flair. In that match, he had the same rating as Larry. He wasn't being carried like the first time.

Does the protege necessarily have to have a match with the mentor?

1. Does the character skill "Star Quality" go up? I haven't seen it. A lot of guys aren't over as 22 year old boys but develop the look and "it factor". It should if it doesn't and I have never seen it increase.

2. Does the feature of "Chemistry" between superstars ever change? If not, it should. Hogan and Flair had awful chemistry at first - so did Sting and Vader. But in both cases, this was solved and both pairs went on to have some fun matches. Heck, even the first WWF ladder match with Shawn/Bret and the first Shawn/Bret feud in 1992 and 1993 were just awful matches - they developed chemistry later when Shawn came into his own.

3. Events can become higher rated over time, but can they become less important? Can a historic event slip to highly regarded? Just curious.

4. Is there a way to access the handbook out of game or in the editor? It's a pain to leave editor, start a game to get some clarification, then leave the game and go back to the database.

5. Can I access the database with Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access? Would it make a faster work flow for modding?

Thanks for any answers!

A question regarding contracts: I have been reading this thread and noticed many times it is noted that a talent will wait six months before resigning a contract with you. My entire roster is currently on a nine month PPA. If I had to wait six months to resign everybody this would be disastrous. Is there anyway to avoid this calamity?

The 6 month period only applies if they have left your company (ie don't renew their contract or you fire them at some point). While they are on your roster there is no issue and you will get a reminder when a contract has one month left.

Thanks for the answers!

I have a few modding questions:

1. Is there a way to restrict where a company may run shows?

2. How much popularity does a promotion have to have in a region to run a show there?

Sorry if this is obvious and I missed it somewhere! -hides-

I can answer #2.

You don't need any popularity.

I start out with 0 in all regions and run shows basically anywhere that I can afford. Even Broadcast them using a PPV channel.

A live audience of 11 <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
