KnowYourEnemy
Will TEW16 or a later incarnation ever come to mac? No, but you can run it pretty easily through Wine, a windows emulator. I've had some issues with it [notably, it freezes when I try change worker pictures in the data] but most of the time it runs quickly and smooth. I was testing to see if a war declaration on one member of an alliance would trigger the other members to follow suit (apparently not) but I'm noticing weeks later that our shared workers.....are still shared. I'm not worried about worker availability (I'm four sizes larger), just curious about how it works now.

jean-vic
Can anyone explain to me why I'm being pulled into a regional battle when I am only a local company? CharlieRock
Can someone tell me which is more important in a match with the aim of "high spots"? Aerial or Flashiness? What about the aim 'technical masterclass'? Chain wrestling, Mat wrestling, or Submissions? And the match style 'Brawling'? I assume it is Brawling. And Hardcore skill would be the most important in 'Hardcore' match styles. But which style is 'Puroresu' most important in? And of the 'Technical' styles which skill of the three are more important (Chain, Mat, Submission skills)? Thank you, any help would be appreciated. If I remember correctly though (this might have changed with recent editions) Flashiness was added as a bonus to the Aerial skill so perhaps you need a good Aerial skill anyway and the Flashiness bonus is just increased?

Match types provide a bonus to workers with a high attribute in the respective top-row skill. You are right about Brawling and Hardcore. There is no Puroresu based match, that skill is simply there because certain product types emphasize or penalize it. For example, a classic puroresu product penalizes Hardcore and maybe Brawling, so brawler guys like Stone Cold Steve Austin would never stand a chance there;on the flip side, classic puro workers with no Brawling/Hardcore skill would never fare well in a blood and guts company like CZW. Another example would be to compare the same match happening within New Japan and Ring of Honor, it just feels different.

As for Technical based matches and the Technical Masterclass goal, I think the top of three technical skills is picked. No need to think that deep into it as long as you have people whose Technical skills are better than their Brawling and Aerial skills.

Obviously, having the "Puroresu" component high, maybe even a Key Feature of your product should help towards that.

The wrestlers' styles are there mostly for decoration purposes to give you an idea of what their in-ring work would look like. They can also provide clues as to their strong points (such as the classes you mentioned having a strong Aerial skill) which is especially useful if you have Fog of War turned on. Sometimes owner goals will prevent you from hiring workers who utilize a certain style and AI companies often have hiring goals that demand or prevent hirings of a certain style. Finally, depending on your product settings (I think where you're based also affects this) a wrestler's style slightly affects the Autopush algorithm, so for example Autopush in Hardcore-heavy companies slightly favors Brawlers and Psychopaths and holds Entertainers and Technicians back a bit.
