What affects auto push? I know it's been answered before, but not sure where.

I have a wrestler who is in the early 90s in pop in every area in the USA. More so than some of my main eventers. According to the most popular page, he's second in the world in pop overall. But the game insists on autopushing him to mid card. Any reason why?

Product

(1) Are certain products more popular than others and can certain products be more popular in certain areas?

I'm basically asking because I'm currently designing a company to use in a modern (real world mod) game that uses an Old School Rasslin' style product. In real life I'd worry that not enough modern fans would "get" old school rasslin'. Is this going to be an issue in TEW?

(2) Is there a penalty for switching the 'Alter Ego' of a jobber regularly? I'm thinking of ways to keep costs down and being able to stick a mask on a jobber one week but have them wrestle as themselves the next week would be very useful.

(3) Is it possible to film a tv show and have it air on a different date? and is it possible to film more than one episode on a live show. So the first half hour of the live show would be tv show #1 (to be shown the following week) and the second half hour of the live show would be for tv show #2 (to be shown two weeks later).

1-yes there are "trends" and certain products can gain/lose momentum in certain areas over time. In the editor go under "Game World->Trends" and you can see the pre-set product popularity for the mod you are using

Thanks for that reply, I've found the screen you mean. Trends only seem to apply to World Areas (US/Mexico.etc) and not In-Game Regions (Mid-South/Great Lakes/Mid Atlantic.etc). It was the latter that I was thinking of.

So, if I am understanding, Mid-South doesn't have a trend or fondness for any style but the US as a whole does? I'd certainly like to see that changed in future releases.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the reply. Makes senses. I'd love to see the '2 TV's recorded in one live show' implemented at some point. Would be a real money saver in appearance feed and production costs. At the lower levels they're absolutely killing me.

Some examples include lucha is huge throughout Mexico, catch (pure) is big throughout the British Isles, puroresu is huge throughout Japan, etc. It's only America that has multiple products that might be equally favored. Admittedly, there was a time when most regions had a specific product they favored (Mainstream for the Northeast, Traditional for the South and Midwest, Modern for the Southwest, Hardcore in one part of the Tri-State, etc), I think the game handles that very well in its current state. If you want to simulate those changes, that's what Eras are for. You can tailor your scenario to nearly the exact terms you want.

When the first paid version came out Adam created the Cornellverse b/c licensing. I think many of us (at least me) were hesitant to embrace it, but some did. and then some fans started creating pictures for it. By the 2nd version more and more people started to get into it. It's really like any game/comic/movie world- when you get into the characters it's fun. The added bonus of the cornellverse is you can find connections b/t real life wrestlers and the wrestlers in the game. No one is an exact copy, but you'll find traits that will make you embrace certain guys. Honestly last 3 versions, when the demo was released I didn't play at all, I just spent the time reading profiles and seeing how the cornellverse had changed. it's hard to jump into it, but dip your toes a little. It really is a fun wrestling universe.

What does it mean when someone who was a NBT is removed from the list? I've had it happen to me with an Upper midcarder (Spencer Spade).

Has he lost his ability to become an icon or is he just ready for the main event scene?

Seems to be a certain age this happens to them at. Because auto-push carried them from mid-card to main event eventually anyway.

Angles and feuds when you don't have TV

Stupid question time.

If you don't have a TV show and you're just running regular live shows is there still a point to having angles and feuds? The reason I ask is that without the commentators, video packages and graphics that come with a TV show how are the fans experiencing the angles and following the feuds?

I follow smaller promotions in my area all the time. Some have gotten fancy screens and portray things on it. But the old school snatching the mic from the announcers to tell your side of it hasn't gone away. They'll make challenges, talk trash on their opponents, etc. Great stuff.

Lol. Good to know.

On the same sort of topic...

It feels like without a Supercard to build towards there's not really anywhere that my booking can head but I don't know if there's going to be the fan interest for a supercard any time soon. New company, no TV, lots of unknown workers.etc

Should I plan to run one anyway? If I have it too soon then I won't have built up my card enough and if I leave it too long my feuds will have all burned out already. So, how long should I leave it to get the right balance?
