<p>Just about to get done with my second year running NOTBPW and thought I might throw in my 2 cents, maybe help someone. </p><p> </p><p>

I started as owner, KP Avatar, with the goal of taking over every other promotion in the world and turning them into child companies while NOTBPW goes global. </p><p> </p><p>

At this point (Nov 2017) we have a prestige of 100 with a momentum of 92. Our size (pop) is at 86-87 across Canada, 29-32 in the USA, and under 20 but inching up across the globe. </p><p> </p><p>

We are making about 500k a month. Attendance for weekly shows is around 23,000, and at 60,000 for events. </p><p> </p><p>

I feel like, at this point, NOTBPW is a well oiled machine with the best workers in the world. We are in great position to accomplish our goals. </p><p> </p><p>

Here are some of my tips:</p><p> </p><p>

1) Like said before, Steve Decolt should be the figurehead first thing. He should win the title and main event every A show. I got his pop to 100 in all areas of Canada within a few months. Have him win the tag tourney in the 3rd month and he will get to 100. Never have him lose, it just slows down the process. </p><p> </p><p>

The earlier you put him as the figurehead the faster you get the bonuses. I also turned him face early, maybe 6 months in. Started a tag team with Westybrook so they could start to build some chemistry. </p><p> </p><p>

2) Go sign Gargantuan from CGC. He is not a great worker but has amazing star quality and the menacing look. He can be a decent worker too but it takes a little time. He is another guy that can get to 100 in pop easily. Have him squash newbies for a year and do a menace angle every show. Once he gets to 100 pop, have him lose to better workers to get them over, then start building him up again. </p><p> </p><p>

I put him in a stable with other monsters and created some monster stable angles. </p><p> </p><p>

3) Tag Teams. They are great. For some reason my game loves them. Every guy on my roster gets a partner. Its nice for guys that don't have a purpose or guys that are on the back burner. I also like to use the division to give my young workers experience, and to get better scouting of them. </p><p> </p><p>

I use tags a lot because I think that the Ed Hanson Memorial Tag Team Cup is a very important tool to making stars. If you can build up the division through out the year, the show can be amazing. The winners will get a huge pop boost. </p><p> </p><p>

4) Sign a lot of workers. Its important to have enough guys that you can put on good shows without booking the same old matches. I like to sign workers early to get that popularity up fast. I like guys that have good star quality because they get over fast. Its also important to get vets so your rookies can beat someone. </p><p> </p><p>

5) Shortlist. Shortlist all of the workers that you would ever like to sign. From all promotions. That way when they become available you don't miss out on them. I can't sign guys from Japan or Mexico, but someday I will. Sometimes you just want to advance from one show to the next. Shortlisting fighters makes sure that you don't waste a chance to add stars to your roster. </p><p> </p><p>

6) Story Telling. Every main event is a "Story Telling" purpose, and only the main event. It gives my best workers the best type of match for these fans. I do a 35 min main event, 25 for the match before. </p><p> </p><p>

7) Use your workers. If you can fit them all into a show, do it. They all need exposure. Use the prematch time for the undercard and women. Also get a B show to work the young guys and to highlight the lesser titles. </p><p> </p><p>

8) No Story Lines. They are a waste of time in NOTBPW. </p><p> </p><p>

9) Spread Sheet. I use a spread sheet with all of my workers stats for easy reference. I always have it opened right next to the game screen. I keep the guys in order by how hard I want to push a guy. It makes booking shows simple and fast. </p><p> </p><p>

10) Three Ways. They work great to put on high scoring matches and to keep shows fresh. Ill match up three different levels of guys all against each other and keep it open so they all come out looking good. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

I'm at work. Have to go home and sleep. I just joined this site but have been playing this game and the ones before it forever. I will get back to what I did and how I play this game tomorrow. I want to get more into my roster and what my plans are for the future. If anyone has any questions about booking or anything else shoot them my way. Ill help if I can.</p>

I've testing different saves and I'll probably start one with NOTBPW soon, but I was wondering if draws affect match grades. I picture them as similar to the old St. Louis Wrestling Club, using some time limit draws and 2/3 falls matches to avoid clear winners.

<p>Did you manage to get NOTPW profitable?</p><p> </p><p>

After 10 months, never got a profit every month.</p><p>

At least the loss are getting thinner because SWF and USPW are overpaying some of my stars like Tim Westibrook, Cameron Vessey or Alexander Robinson <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

<p>Pretty disappointment in the support the top promotion in Canada gets in the C-Verse round here <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="holydogg" data-cite="holydogg" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41364" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Did you manage to get NOTPW profitable?<p> </p><p> After 10 months, never got a profit every month.</p><p> At least the loss are getting thinner because SWF and USPW are overpaying some of my stars like Tim Westibrook, Cameron Vessey or Alexander Robinson <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I would suggest looking into cutting backstage costs via the rules section of management. Specifically paying for hotels and transport every show, if I recall correctly there is a balance between cutting those two and keeping a few others to remain with positive roster rule happiness. This won't dramatically change your finances but you'll see a lower per-show cost analysis before starting your show (after you've booked all the segments) under analysis in the booking section (just below start the show).</p><p> </p><p> I haven't gotten well into a NOTBPW game since roughly TEW '05 but I have given a new save a chance. Using Jeremy Stone as the owner to avoid getting sacked within a year or two for falling to Cult. Luckily all of North America is in a drought (Economy and Industry) instead of just Canada as I have gotten in the past year.</p><p> </p><p> Building to DeColt beating Westybrook at the first PPV in Jan. rather then try and keep it on Westybrook in sake of not having a short title reign. I tried that once before and it failed, leaving my shows weak on-top with low show ratings overall.</p><p> </p><p> Other then building Vessey to a main eventer over the next year, I am trying to figure out if I should kept DeColt as a heel until the last of the Stone boys (still here) retires. As the industry is in the dumps, not having a figurehead during this time as compared to when the industry is hotter later might work better. Might just wait until Vessey is ready to be the top-heel, with Bloodstone getting older he is the future of the company. Tempted to make a run at Greg Gauge before USPW or SWF do but wouldn't mind letting him do his thing on Japanese tours.</p><p> </p><p> Planning to do a 16-team Henson Memorial tournament, starting with week one's television in March and concluding at the PPV. Using the 5 teams already set in the company, Stone & Shooter (continuation of the storyline w/ The Can-Am Blondes), DeColt & Bloodstone, and a handful of thrown together teams who are being tested in house-shows over the next two months. Thinking about bringing in a team from CGC, 4C and ACPW each to job in the 1st round. Ideally an 8-team tournament on the PPV is probably the easiest, however I like the idea of giving shine early to the teams who have to lose in the 2nd round and semi-finals. As well as getting the two teams in the finals on a 3 match win streak. </p><p> </p><p> As I mentioned to begin my post, kinda surprised and dissapointed NOTBPW doesn't even have PPV/Event logos. Going to keep searching the mods forum.</p>

What are some good names for the stable of Greg Gauge, Nelson Callum, and Kirk Jameson? BTW NOTBPW is so easy to manage with thee Big 3 of D.Stone, R.DeColt, and S.McFly, and ofc you have superb talent with the Can-Am aswell and J.Blood and C.Vessey, any other recommended signings? The Ed Henson Memorial in my save will have R.DeColt go over Du.Stone who is coming back for one last match, aswell as having S.McFly go over D.Stone Jr. Brought in the Fighting Irish and Thrill Seekers for the tag team ranks!

<p>Hi,I am about to begin a NOTBPW save, and I would like some opinions on my plan</p><p> </p><p>

1. Steve is going to be Figurehead, but he is going to have to turn Babyface, but against Tim and Duane I doubt, the fans will accept him as a face, so even if it hurts me, Im taking Decolt out of the Canadian Title Feud, (Obviously given a reason in TV, like losing a No.1 contenders Match), and Im puting him in a program with the heel tag champs (Prctically have Haynes and Brown, attack him hard to make him a baby face), and Im signing Ricky DeColt to be introduced in the first PPV, as Steve Tag partner, and take the tag titles, and let them keep them as faces atleas 9 months to a year, when Steve will Move to the canadian title, and Ricky got enough exposure with his brother (Because pushing him solo at first would be difficult, as the fans arent to fond of the Decolts), and put him in a single feud.</p><p> </p><p>

2. Cameron Vessey the TV champ, i have raised him to superstradom in other saves in 2013, and i think i can do it here, so first step super long tv title reign.</p><p> </p><p>

3. Canadian title, the only problem with taking decolt out of the hees side, its that in Main event scene the only other credible heel treat is Bloodstone (Owen love is also ther, but i dont see him as a credible INDIVIDUAL heel, hes place on the heel main event is mstly a bench warmer for a credible heel maybe vessey, but i have plans with the can-am blonds), so Im going to transition Bloodstone into a program with westybrook and probably take the title of him</p><p> </p><p>

4. New heel Main eventer, This is a long term plan, first Transition Duane Stone and Sean Mcfly (The Stone-Mcflys) into a tag feud with the can-am blondes, and begin showing Duane bad side, and him getting fed up with sean mcfly all babyface ways, (originally i wanted all the stones to turn heel, but then i discovered Jeremy, Victoria and Sean suck as heels, and Sean is the most surprising because he is like the Triple H of this universe, and he has a very smuggy render so i thought he would be excellent heel), and turn him on mcfly, and if i can, also steal Edd Stone from TCW as a heel ally of Duane (The flying stones), and put them in a feud with the Decolts, with duane admitting he was the one who sent Brown and Haynes in the very first show to cost him the No.1 contendership, so we have face Decolts, heel stones, and probably them are going to take the tag titles of the DeColts, and probably enter in a feud with McFly and -Insert New Tag Partner- accompanied by Victoria, Jeremy and Dan Sr and Jr if i can sign them, and avoid them and Edd fighting all along. </p><p> </p><p>

5. Womens Division, this is one of my weakest areas and i need your help, im practically worst than WWE booking women and thats awful, i need som tips on how to book a good Womens division to compete with the one USPW has, and also compete with the womens companies AAA, QAW, 5SSW and finally my direct competition on that CWWF when it opens or if CGC tries luck with a golden girls division, and if i cant find ways to manage to a great potential this division i would be better killing it off, in the beggining, at least that way i can use that space in the roster with something i know how to book.</p><p> </p><p>

6. TV Broadcasting, NOTBPW has this Medium Size, Commercial Deal with CBN, but i have to doubts i see this Very Big Size, Free to air channel with canada on air, or this small size, commercial deal with Channel six, but that also has coverage in the UK, and actually that would help me expand, so with what channel or combination of channels should i sign.</p><p> </p><p>

7. What would be a good way to book the Ed Henson Memorial Tag Cup, i think the winners should get a tag team title match, but it should be already established teams, new teams or a mix of both? and how big do i book it, 8, 16 or 32 team or more or less teams? Winners i will decide what fit in the storyline</p><p> </p><p>

8. Commentary Booth, in this one i need more opinion that options i have an idea for one A team and a B team </p><p> </p><p>

B Team: Lionel Greenwood (Announcer Face), Samuel Curran (Announcer Face) and Tim Weightman (Colour Heel), utility A Shows and PPV pre-shows and B shows if i ever get one, purpose build at least one of them up, so he can be a future A team commentator.</p><p> </p><p>

A Team: Peter Michaels (Announcer Face), Tom Townsend (Colour Face), Adrian Garcia (Colour Heel), Utility A Shows and PPV Main Card, purpose, actually see what works well, (as Tommy London Retired, you are left with two very mediocre annoncers, and i couldnt decide which sucked less so i sent them to the b team with "Townsend succesor" Tim weightman), the idea sign up the best announcer free agent Peter Michaelas (that the stupid SWF let go as a scapegoat)and the announcer is always face, and i could actually only seat him with tom townsend and see how they work, and they would probably work ok, but i always liked better the 3 man booth, and also read a dynasty a few years ago, where townsend turns face, and his face stat is good so i wanted to try, so enters adrian garcia to give some heel vibe and also to make good fight with tom, with tom supporting the faces , garcia the heels and michaels the play by Play. </p><p> </p><p>

9. Various, Should i set another tv show?, it would help me sign more ppv deals for my events?, what are my optimal production levels?, what thing should i put on backstage rules?, should i turn off drug test?, Its better internet distribution or dvd distribution?, should i concentrate on dominate canada or try to turn international?, Should i do a brand split, so i can build up more guys?</p><p> </p><p>

Rules of my game, (that i follow so take in count for the recommendations)</p><p>

1. Dont working agreements (i find them to overpowered when you can sign them and i want to struggle, and also i wouldn like to help other US Promotion to grow,if i want to be no.1)</p><p> </p><p>

2. As a special rule, all of the signing i will make* its going to be raiding from CGC (*excptions, Peter Michaels, as its to good of an opportunity to let it pass and Edd Stone, he can break this rule as has more into it, it isnt just a signing its a family reunion)</p><p> </p><p>

2.5. The raid of CGC its because i dont want them to grow so i can have no real rival by eating the second best roster, and they probably will raid 4C, CWWF, ACPW and other outside promotions, so i dont have to attack them directly</p><p> </p><p>

3. I wont modify the structure of shows so its still Stone Classic</p>

<p>Playing a '97 NOTB save now and it's pretty fun. Your top non-Stone guys will get stolen by Japan, but you can manage quite easily. I'd call it "easy mode" due to the amount of talented family members you can spread across the card.</p><p> </p><p>

Unfortunately CGC can't deal with being cult and can't cut a PPV deal so I had to "cheat" to keep them from being taken over by big SWF. Next time I'll overtake them as I can't keep doing this.</p><p> </p><p>

@XMultigames: If you look at the official history of the women's division it just screams missed opportunity so it's a chance to do it right. I'm baffled as to why someone can be bad in "booking women". You just treat them as a secluded division. Honestly I often use intergender tag matches. Try and get friendships or relationships going with some guys and then have them team up. </p><p> </p><p>

I managed to turn a profit after a full year of play. It's hard as you don't have TV coverage in Québec. You can host shows in CGC territory but it'll only draw about 700 people and will bleed you money, so you'll have to calculate when to stop relying on the spillover and when to actively boost pop.</p><p> </p><p>

It's a decent idea imo to broker a non-agression pact with CGC, but gameplaywise they will often give exposure to your guys and let 'em win some. But on the long run, it's best to keep talent exclusive to build overall pop in Canada quicker (though it won't matter much for you as NOTB).</p><p> </p><p>

For working agreements I like 5SSW so you can keep your core women's roster small and just bring 'em in temporarily. BHOTWG is just too costly, so unless you can afford it I'd pass up on that. It's not overpowered imo as you need a lot of money. If you have that, you can sign basically anybody anyway.</p>

Believe Me I dont know what i do wrong, i try to book it as a secluded division, i also tried intergender matches, and i dont get it to work, with women losing popularity every week, getting the worse notes on my shows, tanking my ranking, All the women angry because apparntly i have to book them more strongly because their momentum is on the drain, even if im booking them strongly, and the womens title losing pop on a weekly bases, for **** sake right now it has less pop than the young lions title, and that title was retired 10 years ago, im freaking out

<p>Which ones are you using? Even if they are 'blessed' by bad destiny, the top C-verse women shouldn't tank the ratings. Try switching them to more competent in-ring performers. NOTBPW never really had the best female workers employed.</p><p> </p><p>

Anyhow, I'm having problems booking A-matches regularly. Like in previous C-verse games, my shows are a constant stream of B-matches with the occasional A on top of the card. Using speciality matches (like spectacle and epic) doesn't change anything, probably because it's more for E promotions.</p><p> </p><p>

I generally use one calm the crowd match, but it doesn't seem to have any effect on the flow of the card. Do I have to book bad matches and workers on purpose?</p>

It is a problem for performance based big companies in 2016. I mean, I can get ratings with CV2005 mod but I am not able to get those grade in CV2016(both BHOTWG and NOTBPW yet to try a long game with PGHW). I barely have a reached 'A' matches.

I once ran a good card twenty times using the epic matches on different parts of the card with different crowd heights. Even changed the workers (and they are A-players on a lot of aspects). I basically ran through all factors. The effect (if there even is one) is minimal, so I assume these match types are just reserved for E promotions.</p><p> </p><p> A few years into the game, when stat progression through matches has set in, the prevalence of A-matches has increased a lot, so I assume mediocre stats was the problem. Either that or I'm really struggling with crowd management. How can you see that the crowd is burned out? I only get positive road agent notes when they are warmed up.</p>

<p>Regarding the Women's Division- first, if you're going to keep Kaede and Kimuye (and keep one, in case you want to bring in Japanese talent), they start as heels, but they work much, much better as babyfaces. If you want to balance out the roster, Nina works better as a heel, and Amber Allen is pretty good either way.</p><p> </p><p>

Amber and Lauren are definite keepers. While I haven't played extensively with NOTBPW, I do have experience hiring them in AAA, and they're BEASTS. The former is especially good if you grab Steffi Chee to the roster.</p><p> </p><p>

If you want to poach from USPW, Raven Nightfall and/ or Alicia Strong often get cut in the first year, and snap them up. Even if Raven is in Time Decline, as long as it's not too severe, you'll make good use of her.</p><p> </p><p>

Where I'm getting stuck with NOTBPW is I find it hard to have stories progress in my head when every match needs a decisive finish.</p>

Where I'm getting stuck with NOTBPW is I find it hard to have stories progress in my head when every match needs a decisive finish.

This is why Gedo in New Japan uses stables, 6-Man and 8-man tag matches to build to events. They always have decisive finishes on their shows. Literally every match in real NJPW ends with a decisive finish.

The key is to never have your top guy taking the fall, it's his stable mate eating pins in those matches to his next opponent. If your top guy eats a pin it's in a multi-man match to set up the next challenger not in a 1 on 1.

Save your 1 on 1 matches for the PPV feud ending matches.

<p>I think given the match breakdown, 85% percent 1 on 1 bout for both events and tv shows, it's more like having rankings based on win loss records and opponent strength, like in combat sports, to determine title contenders and storylines.</p><p> </p><p>

For example starting with the opening roster, the top 8, excluding champion, are eligible to fight for the NOTBPW Canadian Championship, and between 9 and 24 can compete for the NOTBPW Television title.</p>

Maybe 4 gets a pin on 1 but 1 wins the singles match.</p><p> </p><p> If you notice someone is always 7 or 8, that may signal they need to drop down a tier and be used to elevate some other talent. I decided to start my first NOTBPW game and after a rough start and wanting to quit the save, I am really enjoying it. I'm in October 2016 right now. It took me a little while to understand how to book, but I have gotten used to the idea of leaving people off shows, and 4 ways and multi-person tags have helped out a lot. After booking TCW and SWF for so long, I had to completely change my ordinary show format and focus on the in-ring product more.

<p>Just started playing my long running NOTBPW save after a brief hiatus, it was the first save I started the day that TEW 2016 was released and I'm still going strong and I'm in the year 2022. </p><p> </p><p>

You can get full updates about this save in the What's going on in your game thread but some things to note are that Melody had almost a four year long title reign with the women's championship. Lucy Stone McFly defeated Melody in her debut with the company in January 2021 and it's now March 2022 and she still has the title and has made 33 defenses of the belt. Of all of my title histories in this save I'm the happiest with this one which is odd for me to say because I don't normally put this much attention into a women's title.</p>

<p>I haven't played any Cornellverse long term games, but when playing for a few months with the 2010 and CV16X mods I have noticed that NOTBPW, on average, puts on the best rated shows. In 2010 the combination of Dan Stone Jr., Dark Angel, Jeremy Stone, Johnny Bloodstone, Sean McFly, and Steve DeColt is super strong.</p><p> </p><p>

I tried playing NOTBPW and noticed when signing guys most available talent has a lot higher popularity in the USA compared to Canada. NOTBPW in the beginning definitely puts on the best shows worldwide, and I'm surprised the default data never mentions how strong their shows are.</p>

NOTBPW in the beginning definitely puts on the best shows worldwide, and I'm surprised the default data never mentions how strong their shows are.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Yeah the 2010 roster is pretty amazing. In the 2016 database, it really depends on your destiny roll for time decline, as most saves. The top of the roster is pretty old. Also, it is really hard to keep your stars. My save is two years and Vessey, McFly, Love, Natural, Tim, and Bloodstone are all gone. It's really hard seeing these guys with like B+ popularity in Canada, E popularity in America, and never being on SWF and USPW shows. The only people I've managed to keep or sign are Aaron Andrews, DeColt, and Cavanagh.</p>

hey guys, starting what's (hopefully) gonna be my first long term c-verse game - don't really know much about the universe at all. anyways i was just wondering how you guys handle booking the TV title. do you guys book title defenses every show? i feel like i'll run through all my potential matches really quickly if i do that. i was thinking about transitioning the title into an intercontinental belt. what do you guys think?
