Honestly, I've thought about editing a bunch to prevent those workers from regenerating, but figured that would probably end up taking more time than just watching the new workers (which I always look at anyway) and editing anyone with an unfitting pic. its annoying when they come up but its easy enough to change to fix it. Doubt the DB editing is worth the effort it would take to avoid them occurring.</p>

<p>For stables without overlays (and often for those with), I tend to just use something very simple but very recognisable - a small square in the top right corner of their render. It gives me quite a few colours to play with for any Japan games I do.</p><p> </p><p>

Plus, for someone with terrible design skills like me, it's as easy as pasting a layer over any other image and Bob's your uncle.</p>

<p>Picked TEW up again this last week. Doing a Road to Glory challenge with the “very” original Jim Heatly and found a new diamond in the rough, Clement Lejosne. I’ve used him before when messing around with GNW in the past but didn’t realize just how good he is until now. He ended up being my first champion until losing to his brother Pierre. Even after that, the two put up three C grade matches, carrying me through the first year.</p><p> </p><p> I’m one show into 2017 and finally have some room to breath. Great Lakes Wrestling has a positive balance even with competive production values. <p>If you're going for 100% realism then I would put WWWE #4 worldwide. </p><p> </p><p>

1. Chase Paige can use his father's media empire to promote the shit out of WWWE coming back.</p><p> </p><p>

2. HGC within 4 years became the #5 company in the world with the only hype being an elite commentator/manager opening a new company plus their momentum is only B- so it's not like they have setting the world on fire to reach such a high popularity in such a short period of time. My point being if you have a brand new company with some decent buzz you can start out very high worldwide.</p>

Looking at WCW is probably the easiest comparison. They have both been gone about the amount of time, and they have both been kept in the fan's consciousness to some degree. If the WWE relaunched WCW as a standalone promotion, the name value itself would only carry so much weight. I can't imagine WCW would instantly be drawing large crowds - 10K plus - immediately, based purely on its name value from nearly 20 years ago. They might pop a huge crowd for the first show or two, but I don't imagine it would last. Rather, it would take a lot of marketing. Which the WWE would obviously be doing as best they can. But without that, those "new" WCW shows wouldn't be huge.

 

The WWWE has been kept alive in the Tverse in large part by the AWF and how much it drew from the WWWE, at least in the early going. You still have former WWWE stars in the AWF. So there would definitely be some recognition. But if you run with the idea of having a ton of hype building it up, I think you could definitely have it a bit bigger. I probably agree with Azul's suggestion. And also foolinc - you can "justify" almost anything if you really really want it to be a given size to start.

From the canon, the WWWE was SE as its worst at times. Not to say it as all crap, but part of the reason it died was a decline in business because of too many failed gimmicks, bad storylines, and general wrestle-crap. With resurrecting a company, the nostalgia aspect is going to be a major part of the draw. And moving away from that lessens the appeal for many returning fans. </p><p> </p><p> Going back to the WCW example.... if WWE brought back WCW, but decided to make the product like the WCW golden period (in terms of ring work) of 1989-1991, that might be appeal to some hardcores. But that's not the primary nostalgia factor for the company, so you're losing something. It could end up being like the WWE resurrecting ECW - by leaving out some key elements, if felt like a cheap ripoff. Even if the elements that are being left out are the ones that might be best viewed as "negatives" ones, there would still be some backlash, I think.</p>

<p>So, Shane Allman in June 2015 ended up selling PWI to a large corporation that is currently the number 1 seller in smart phones. He did not want to step away from wrestling, but this large cellphone corporation gave him such a great offer for PWI that he lied to himself that he was done with wrestling and that wrestling was stupid.</p><p> </p><p>

Anyway, it took Allman 2 month to realize that he wanted PWI back. He went to the new owner and tried to get it back but they said no. Allman was upset, he even offered to give back the money they gave him yet they still wouldn't give him the company back.</p><p> </p><p>

What made matters worse for Allman was that this new ownership changed his product. He reacted to the changes they made like it was doomsday. They ruined his baby and turned it into the wrestling company he hated the most, the AWF!</p><p> </p><p>

In reality all that the new owners did was make the product slightly more sports entertainment oriented. They knew not to change the product too much because it was alienate a lot of their fans. Allman was making a huge deal out of nothing. </p><p> </p><p>

Allman decided that he would get back at these evil people by creating his own promotion, a promotion that was the real PWI! Allman wasn't too worried though, because he knew once his former employees heard what </p><p>

these new evil owners were doing that they then would leave the PWI in protest and join his new wrestling company.</p><p> </p><p>

That did not happen though. The employees of PWI tried to explain to Allman that their contracts didn't expire when he planned to open his new company in January 2016. They couldn't go even if they wanted to. Some of the workers told Allman to move the company's debut to January 2017 because that was the time when their contracts were up. Allman said no to that. He stated either join my company in January 2016, and if you don't then you are dead to me. </p><p> </p><p>

The workers kept telling him that none of their contracts were up in January 2016, and they explained to him that waiting 1 extra year to open the company wasn't a big deal at all. They also mentioned that they could go to jail or get suspended without pay if they left in January 2016. The only response Allman would give to those statements was "either join my company in January 2016, and if you don't then you are dead to me!!" They kept trying to explain the common sense situation about how they couldn't join in 2016, but no matter how many ways or times they explained it all Allman would do is give the same response: "either join my company in January 2016, and if you don't then you are dead to me." A lot of guys were slamming their head into the wall every time he said that statement. Is this guy really this dumb? Maybe he really is a crazy lunatic.</p><p> </p><p>

Anyway, like the previous guy I'm wondering how popular this new company should be that Allman is creating. He is only able to sign non-written workers that are at the start of the game in the beginning of the save. I would go with #4 with them being a small amount behind UPJ. I feel like people would be interested in seeing a war between Allman's new company and PWI. His new company has been getting a lot of hype because every few days Allman goes to TMZ and tells them that he had found the anti-christ. The anti-christ happens to be the cellphone company that took over PWI. Allman also feels that it is his destiny to destroy them, and if he doesn't then the anti-christ will gain more power over the world. Basically if they make PWI into an international power then they will have the confidence to do eviler things and then maybe take over the world. These ramblings get a lot of mainsteam coverage. </p><p> </p><p>

What do you guys think their popularity at the start should be?</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

The game is going to start out really interesting. You have the #1 PWI , the #2 AWF that Chase Paige bought with his Dad's media empire money, he is trying to make the AWF what his dad wanted the WWWE to end up being, then you have UPJ getting back on track without the Matsumuto brothers, and finally you have Allman's new promotion.</p>

The in-game description is family-friendly and the product levels don't really limit you entirely. So it could be family friendly in that its straight forward modern wrestling without a lot of risqué stuff, or it could be campy, whether 80s old school style or Hollywood style campy. My personal take is that the characters have never made me feel like its super-camp and a pure takeoff of 80s WWF type wrestling. More of a modern PG product with a bit of goofiness and comedy, but not heavy. But the Hollywood connection always made me think there should be an extra dose of drama in the storytelling. </p><p> </p><p> So for me, how you present Prophesy connects quite heavily to how you book the company. Having him do eerie, creepy promos doesn't have to be campy - look at a lot of The Undertaker's stuff in the WWE in the past decade. You could even have him mostly off-screen, mostly just " a voice of authority". You could even play him straight - just a standard authority figure (think Regal in NXT) but he just happens to wear creepy facepaint....</p>

With your draft, I'm getting the itch to play a bit of TEW. I just don't know whether to pick up where I left off in my RtG or start a new save. I've been thinking of doing a small, low key diary again. Something like I Can Be A Booker, but slightly less production value (or maybe I just reboot the series - who knows).
