<p>More options for mods is surely a good thing, no? We all play the game differently and all have a "bias" when it comes to wrestling so no real world mod is perfect - trust me I know! To those bashing Mildly_Amusing, maybe you should go create and then keep data up to date every month, you'll soon find out it's a near impossible task to have every single person up to date. This is a prime example of why I don't add promotions constantly and keep workers to a manageable level in my data. There is no way I could keep something up to date the size of this so are there things out of date? Sure, but using "BUSHI's bio is out of date" is pretty weak. I imagine if you read the bios of half the real world mods released they'd be out of date within a few months.</p><p> </p><p>

Now here is the idea of all ideas, if a bio bothers you, instead of writing a 15 line rant about it, try correcting the 5 line bio yourself, tada... an up to date bio!</p><p> </p><p>

Don't be put off sharing your stuff, Mildly_Amusing, the community here on a whole is excellent and very helpful in their constructive criticism but unfortunately you get the "Spoilt brat pack" at every forum so it's best to just ignore those who only bring negativity to the forums. Any tips you want, we've got plenty of people here to bounce your ideas off of if you need to. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

Actually any help with body types would be greatly appreciated as if I'm perfectly honest I don't really know how to set people outside of the more obvious ones (e.g. Brian Cage being ripped, Petey Avalon being skinny, etc.) I feel like most people are average? Would that be right or not?

Example of a constructive, very useful post:</p><p>

Hey man, great to see another mod up, here's a few suggestions I'd like to mention:</p><p>

-Wrestler X now works for Company X, has since March of this year</p><p>

-I think a lot of people would agree that Wrestler H's basics skill is way overpowered considering his age and experience.</p><p>

-Wrestler J is still listed as dating Personality E, I know from reading this: (link) that they split up at the end of 2015, I think December.</p><p>

Hope these tips help man, feel free to message me with any questions!</p>

Is this data free to steal? <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Originally I was going to generate fictional workers for my mod but this database is so enormous, I would love to use it as the basis for the mod I'm working on!

<p>Agree with everything Fleisch said. I understand the frustration when someone wants to jump right into a game with a certain promotion, only to find out that they have to edit a lot of things themselves because it's out of date or whatever the reason. But pointing out the mistakes/updates that need to be made is much more productive.</p><p> </p><p>

Speaking of Fleisch as an example, PWG's roster was out of date on his mod. It took me all of 5 minutes to figure out who needed to be removed and who needed to be added, and post the information in his thread. He made the note, thanked me, and that was that. Having to keep up with dozens of promotions is a lot of work, especially with how often the WWE's and TNA's of the world are changing.</p><p> </p><p>

If people don't want to help you improve this mod by posting errors/oversights/etc., or pointing you in the direction of threads where you can find opinions on stats, body types, and other tweaks that need to be made, then they can either play the default database or create their own mods. Just because people may have purchased the game for a real world mod doesn't mean that the mod makers owe us anything when it comes to their FREE work.</p>

Mildly, screw the people that aren't supportive of your work. They are just disgruntled keyboard warriors wanting to hate on the next person. This mod is, and no pun intended, amusing. Sure, some things are off but, the wrestling world is ever changing. Just this past week, Abyss had probably one of the best character development leaps in over ten years for him! What I enjoy is how much you put into the Indy scene and that you've doing this for awhile. Even if the people on here don't care, my group of friends have been using your databases for long term multiplayer games! Thank you and have a good day brother!

I hope there is a mod out there that says something to drcat I feel he's piling on when its not needed. This guy seems newish to the community and new to mod making and I feel like half this thread is trying to run him off. Is this mod perfect? I bet not but even if its not any "good" at all it doesn't mean that he should have this tone taken with him. Especially from someone who combined ten different mods or whatever it was, threw them together and released it. I'm not saying anything more about this but I always brag about the community here. This is one of the best places on the internet. Insults and trolling are almost zero percent here and the support and sense of community is off the charts. However this thread has embarrassed me and I'm sure others.

Anyway Mildly welcome to the modding section. I have found this place to be slightly better at balancing mods than other places. Its most likely comes down to the community here is nearly 100 percent TEWcentric and has a lot more TEW related discussion over mods than say other places might have. If you have any questions the small questions thread is great to look through and ask your own questions in.

If nothing else this is a fantastic base to build off of for anyone else or Midly himself that is looking to fine tune this and fully take advantage of all the new features. Welcome aboard and I look forward to seeing your progress on this :)

drcat, stop being an ass.

You're not helping, you're insulting people's work and being condescending as hell as if you're some sort of gift to the mod making community. I can't recall you ever making a meaningful contribution to the community in any way, you just moan about how everyone else's work is substandard, complain that nobody has made the mod you're waiting for, then complain when people do make mods. The only mod thread of your own you've had that didn't eventually devolve into a flame war and get closed was the mod you refused to publicly release because nobody posted in your hype thread within 19 hours of you starting it and you got in a huff.

You will not start your crap again this year. This thread is for discussion of the mod, not pointless arguments and flaming.

With that said, how about some actual constructive advice:

A worker's starting body type doesn't actually affect that much, but it does become important (for a given value of 'important') when workers change body type during the game, as that will affect a few of their stats. For instance, it would be weird to see Samoa Joe put on weight and end up as a Flabby Heavyweight. He should've started at Bulky, so putting on weight should make him Obese. Things like that. It's not really a huge deal in the grand scheme of things.

Most WWE heavyweights would start at Muscular (except guys like Shemus, who are Toned). Most WWE Cruiserweights would start at Toned (except Neville, who's Muscular).

Best way to do it is not to think about it too much. Go with your instincts. If you look at a guy, and you think "holy crap, look at the muscles on that thing", he's probably ripped. Like Steiner, or Prime Triple H, Ron Waterman (there's a name I haven't heard in ages). If he looks obviously muscled, but you're pretty sure he could do better with 'help', he'd be muscular (like most WWE heavyweights, Neville, etc). If he doesn't look as muscled as he could be but is definitely athletic, he's Toned (Shemus, most cruiserweights), and if you're not sure if he quite qualifies as toned or not, leave him at average. Skinny is mostly for female valets, and guys who don't look like they lift, bro.

On the other side of the scale, Flabby is for guys who aren't perhaps in as peak physical condition as they could be (or used to be), APA-era Bradshaw, end-of-his-career Ric Flair, etc. Bulky is for "heavy" muscular guys, like Kevin Steen, Samoa Joe, etc and also guys who have a lot of bulk with their muscle, such as Ryback, Rhyno, guys for whom stamina is probably not their primary stat because they're built for pure power. Obese is for guys who rely on their weight as part of their gimmick, like Rikishi, Big Show (for most of his career) or Yokozuna.

Thanks a lot, these really helped me get to grips with the body types. I'll probably need to adjust them more than once but I feel a bit more confident in them. I didn't realise they had an effect on stats in game, I thought it was more a cosmetic feature. Natrually, I'll be working hard on them.

Thanks for the welcome :) Hopefully, with a bit of fine tuning I can make it a lot better.

The mod needs work. But they all do at first. Keep trying. :)

I will do :D

Would you guys maybe be interested in me putting out a Work in Progress July mod in about a week or so, so I could get more feedback on the work I'll have done?

Welcome aboard, Mildly! I haven't had a chance to look over your data yet as I've been a bit busy working on my own, but I hope you continue to plug away at it, and feel free to ask folks to test it out to find things you might have missed. Like Fleisch and others said, the more mods, the merrier! It's all about options! :) All of us have been new to modding TEW at some point, so it's great that everyone here helps each other out. Anywho, keep up the good work and don't give up.

And Kryten Guy, anyone who's a fan of Red Dwarf is A-OK in my book! :D

Just wondering when was the last time you took a look at my database?

I'd suggest you take a look at my TEW13 May 2016 update, where all WWE, TNA, ROH and NJPW contracted workers have improved stats as well as the main NXT roster as I've been adding in the suggestions from the stat discussion forum which has helped to improve my database.

Also this is not meant as a "my database is better than yours" comment, I'm just saying my database has improved since the early days.

I do find it amusing that people are technically still playing the conversions of our TEW05 database, which is essentually what cpt.charisma's databases were.
