<p>Wow, that's a tough choice! All four have their pluses and minuses. I've seen the heel authority figure trope enough for several lifetimes in WWF/E, so that rules Paul E out for me. </p><p> </p><p>

For me it comes down to a choice between Dusty and Ventura. I like the idea of an authority figure being truly neutral and not overly favoring either babyfaces or heels. I know Dusty played a heel early in his career, but just about everybody identifies him as a face, plus there's the Dustin thing. Jesse was always a heel as far as I know, but he's well-liked by the fans and I think he could pull off a truly neutral character much better than Dusty. So, my vote is for <strong>Jesse Ventura.</strong></p>

<p>I'd like to say for "storyline" reasons that Dusty I voted for Dusty to become commissioner. I love the backstage dynamic between Flair and Dusty -- and I think that Dusty taking an "active on-screen role" will both give him leverage and expand his ego. </p><p> </p><p>

I think this decision will have repercussions on the diary -- the Dusty commissioner universe will be significantly different compared to the Jesse Ventura commissioner universe. Not on the screen, but <em>behind</em> it.</p>

<p>Dusty seems to be the easy choice. The diary would certainly take a twist with the backstage relationships and delayed push of Dustin. However, I like Jesse. The heels might think they would get their way with Jesse because of his heelish tendencies. Jesse repelling them would be a sure way to get him over. </p><p> </p><p>

If Jesse was chosen, would that mean another color commentator to go with Jim Ross or dual duty?</p>
