I've never really gotten into any of your previous work because the C-Verse has never sucked me in, but I knew you'd been around a long time and had written stuff that people loved. Now I can totally see why. I love the presentation and everything you're bringing to the table here. This is definitely something I plan on following.

You've got a pretty interesting take on streamlining the process of presenting your TV shows. That's definitely something I'm conscious of in my own work, and I plan on doing things to make all of that easier in my next diary.

I'd say that I prefer opener first in results, but I'm also someone who has only run a handful of shows on TEW2016 so far and thus hasn't had much of a chance to get accustomed to the other way.

Nash actually would have made a good unfeeling machine at the time. I <em>would</em> throw my vote into that. However, as Ric said early in the meeting, he doesn't know how long he and Dusty can keep on if he continually bashes his ideas. So in that vein, follow with "The Dream" and have him start hanging with the Mine.

Kevin Nash I go with the Vinnie Vegas name and be the bodyguard for Diamond Dallas Page use him as the Enforcer of the group. It be a mix of Dusty's idea and Diesel where he was at first Terminator like machine. </p><p> </p><p>

Other note: Ric Flair has never talked to Jim Crockett Jr. since the sale JCP to Ted Turner. Because Crockett never told him that he was the main worker Ted Turner wanted guaranteed would be working for him. Ric Flair says it on his podcast when he is talking with David Crockett.</p>

Koloff stood over the fallen bodies of Sting and Lex Luger, and tossed aside the steel chair that he’d used on the pair. Snatching Gary Michael Capetta’s microphone, he stared at the announcers’ table, where Ric Flair was watching intently.

Koloff:

You see? Sting, Luger, no good. You want real number one contender, you come to me, WCW.

He waved off the jeers of the crowd, kicking Luger in the ribs as the US champion stirred slightly.

Koloff:

Ric Flair, the Nature Boy, I know you are watching this. I was in back, hearing you make snide comments about Luger and Sting. You say they can’t compare to you... but I say that Ric Flair can’t compare to the Post-Soviet Superstar!

Koloff cackled as the fans boos continued.

Koloff:

You think I care about what you think? No – the whole world see that Lithuania had right idea last year. Quit the Soviet Union, strike out on its own, have strong leaders like Nikita Koloff to show the way. Soon the World champion will be a strong, mighty Lithuanian... if Ric Flair is brave enough to step in the ring with me!

Koloff:

Or maybe Flair wants me on his side? Maybe Flair thinks he can survive if he teams with me? He would – for one more night!

Koloff paused, as Flair had walked down the aisle and climbed up on the ring apron. A little hesitantly, Flair climbed through the ropes.

Flair:

Now Nikita, I have no problem with you. Last I heard, you had your sights set on Luger here, and the United States title.

Koloff:

Things change, Nature Boy. Did you see me tonight? Or last week? The Sickle destroyed my opponents – and it could destroy you.

Flair:

Well, let’s talk about this-

Koloff:

Talk! Talk is all you do, Flair, and you’re good at it! But I have been in WCW for a long time. I know how this works. I will go backstage, and man in suit will fine me for attacking these two... But what is a fine? You Americans put too much faith in money. All I need is my strength, and that cannot be taken from me.

Flair:

All I’m saying is that you have to

earn

a title shot. This was a number one contender’s match for the Bash tomorrow, and-

Koloff:

Then tomorrow we will have a number one contender’s match, and the Nature Boy can be on my side to make sure he doesn’t have to fight too hard. Sounds good, doesn’t it? So, Flair and Koloff against Sting and Luger, and whoever wins is the number one contender. Or, if you win, you have

no

contender, and can take night off instead of defending your title next month. I know that sounds good to you!

Flair frowned.

Flair:

I’ve never ducked a fight in my life, Nikita, and if you want the Nature Boy, then you get him! When Sting and Luger wake up, you can tell them they get to fight us tomorrow night at the Bash... and maybe you’ll find you have more than just them to worry about!

Koloff:

So. I suppose I should not be surprised that you would turn on your partner in a match. After all, you can be trusted about as much as your former President Nixon.

Flair bared his teeth.

Flair:

Okay, Koloff, you want your match? You got it. Tomorrow night, at the Great American Bash, we have a number one contender’s tag match. And it’ll be the Nature Boy who comes out on top, and when I do, I’ll choose the next challenger for my title – and you can be certain of one thing: It won’t be you!

WCW Hotline Show Notes

Rick Steiner upended Michael Hayes to cut off the Freebirds’ claim to a World tag title shot – and the Hardliners have jumped to the head of the queue! The Freebirds will be busy enough, though, defending their Six Man titles against the York Foundation – and Gibson, Rhodes and El Gigante!

Young flyer Brian Pillman gave it his all in the opener, but Zbyszko is a master of cheating, and used a tag rope to choke Pillman to setup the LarryLand Dreamer. The veteran has to be seen as a dark horse contender for gold in the future – it may be that he can even cheat better than the Nature Boy himself!

Terence Taylor beat the clock against the Natural, but only by catching Rhodes with a low blow after Alexandra York distracted the referee. The York Foundation are taking every win they can, by hook or by crook!

Bobby Eaton dislocated his shoulder during his match – Anderson really was working him over too hard! Eaton will be out for a month, and no doubt will want revenge on Anderson on his return.

Flair and Koloff only made blind tags, and even then both sought to avoid their team’s corner of the ring to cut down on the chance of being tagged out. As Flair struggled, Luger shifted his footing to try and cinch the hold in. Catching sight of Sting, still struggling to get down the aisle, Luger lost focus for a moment – and that was all Koloff needed to dive in from behind and clip the Total Package’s knee. Impressive strength from Larry Zbyszko, hefting PN News for a piledriver in their match. Afterwards, he confirmed that his ultimate goal in WCW was the World title ... The six-man match turned on the arrival of a monstrous giant of a man, later identified by DDP as Vinnie Vegas, who flattened Steve Armstrong ... Arn Anderson took clean win over the All American, and reiterated his intent to chase the US title ... The Steiners and the Hardliners had a wild brawl before the white-hot crowd of 35,000 fans. <em>OOC: The booking team’s first decision was to choose </em><em><strong>Nikita Koloff</strong></em><em> as the #1 contender (and eventual successor) to Flair’s world title. Not at the Bash, though (only 20% of the votes) hence the tag match here.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Koloff got way more votes than anyone else (35%), but lots of people voted for ‘Other’ and a few people got multiple votes there too, so they can expect to see some highlighted action in the future. I liked the vote for Dustin Rhodes, and the reasoning behind it, but making him WCW champion in 1991? If it didn’t happen with his daddy booking, it’s probably not going to happen in this reality.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<em>And as for Nash, 60% of votes went for a Diamond Mine team-up, with the rest split evenly between Terminator and Vinnie Vegas... frankly, the lure of booking a bodyguard who’s also a wisecracking, silent assassin is far too tempting to pass up. Expect a Nash/Hall team to start appearing shortly, especially given what happened elsewhere on the show.</em></p><p>
