Flower Power should be the most over, Ultraviolets are good and exciting, and Glorious Domination need to look dominant, but probably doesn't have the skills to match the other two teams. I think Glorious Domination looks strong but is caught out somehow and Flower Power snatches the win from out of nowhere.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> You pretty much nailed it, Doc. Flower Power is, actually, fairly over. Particularly compared to the other teams, who have had nearly zero visibility in the North West US region. Unfortunately for the Ultraviolets, they have terrible chemistry, and thus will not be seen again in this configuration. Glorious Domination are straight up terrible at the moment. The injury to Wendy Anderson is really only icing on that terrible cake. Are Flower Power jobbers to the stars? They might be...but in order to be a jobber to the stars, you have to win against teams that are even lower in the pecking order than you to remain credible. That was the point of this match.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>AAA Top Contender's Championship Match</strong></p><p> <strong>Foxxy LaRue</strong> (champion) def. Devil's Daughter by DQ</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="MrWolf101" data-cite="MrWolf101" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>So, obviously, your booking plans have been scrambled by Zoe being poached. You've already taken the belt off of Foxxy once, showing that you're ready to move her on to another program. Is that program with Lilith? I'm thinking no, but DD could use a midcard title for her feuds, while Foxxy can slide into an upper midcard fight</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> You're not wrong about things getting entirely scrambled due to Zoe's departure. Was I ready to move into another program for Foxxy? Yes, absolutely. But with the loss of Ammis, I decided to keep the belt on Foxxy in order to give a reason for her next program.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Dr_Avalanche" data-cite="Dr_Avalanche" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>This is the test, isn't it? Will Devil's Daughter pass this hurdle? I suspect she does. Wyatt got, what, one program before he started his never-ending losing streak? It's a cheap way for the match to end, but I wasn't ready to switch the belt over just yet.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="cbacon87" data-cite="cbacon87" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Guessing we get a DQ here, can't see either losing this straight up for various reasons.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> The DQ re-establishes Talia Quinzel, without diminishing DD despite the loss. I'm not a fan of DQ finishes - the fact that I did it twice in the same event is really unusual for my booking - but it served a narrative purpose. I don't intend to continue using DQ finishes. This isn't 1997 WCW.</p><p> </p><p> 10 Minute Time Limit Match</p><p> <strong>Amber Allen</strong> def. Ariel Breaks</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Sudo_Nym" data-cite="Sudo_Nym" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>AA is main-event ready walking in the door.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="cbacon87" data-cite="cbacon87" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Figuring Allen is going to be a project.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Amber Allen, in a pop > perf fed like AAA, actually isn't main-event walking through the door <em>unless</em> CGC opens a women's division. That's because Amber Allen is pretty over in Canada, but she's virtually unknown in the US. As a result, as the Baconator points out, Amber Allen is a project. Put her in a perf > pop fed? Then yes, absolutely, she's much higher on the card right out of the gate.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="MrWolf101" data-cite="MrWolf101" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Oh yes, Amber is on the rise! But she's progressing in skills quickly, and indeed she did her part in making this match as good as it was. It's not just a case of Allen being able to get a 4-star match out of a broomstick, though Allen's talented enough to get a match involving Ellie May Walton to a score of 40+. Ariel Breaks is the future of AAA, but it's going to be a little while before she's used for anything but showcases for her opponents and learning opportunities. Happy note - Ariel Breaks and Sarah Sparkles have great chemistry when opposing each other. I am <em>very</em> excited for the future.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>The A-List (Demelza Wade & Nadia Snow)</strong> def. A win by Higgins and Simony would be a launching pad for them, but I think it would also really hurt Snow and Wade, depsite them being divided. I say they just manage to win, then brawl afterwards.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="cbacon87" data-cite="cbacon87" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>So, I don't know how, but going with an A-List win before they get into things with each other.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> GET OUT OF MY MIND! For your own sake, really. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/eek.png.0e09df00fa222c85760b9bc1700b5405.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Anyway, this is pretty much it. As for Snow and Wade, I don't know if they're going to reach Generico/Zayn vs. Steen/Owens levels of being destined to do this forever, but their mutual (kayfabe) dislike is going to keep rolling on. Fun fact - they actually have, as is appropriate, a strong friendship with each other, much like their real-world counterparts.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Temes1066" data-cite="Temes1066" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Let's pull the trigger on the 3P push</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I absolutely used the "open match" note for this one, and tried to reflect that in the narrative. My hope, for Sentinel & Higgins, is that this match is an example of winning even when taking the loss.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Sudo_Nym" data-cite="Sudo_Nym" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I have to assume that the A-List lose because they're still feuding, and maybe kingjames forgot that fact.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Dr_Avalanche" data-cite="Dr_Avalanche" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Wait, wait, wait. Did I miss something? I thought Wade and Snow were still feuding?</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Oh, no, I didn't forget (not that I would put it past me). Just went with the Stone Cold/Shawn Michaels, or lesser but more recently, Sheamus/Cesaro booking. Two people who dislike each other being forced against their will to team together. There's no way Kate Lilly - as outstanding as she is, even as a solo worker - is going to beat Jaime Quine. Jaime isn't Hogan or even Reigns protected, but she's not going to lose in a random match. When she loses, it'll be for the purposes of forwarding the narrative.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>AAA Femme Fatale Championship Match</strong></p><p> <strong>Paige Croft</strong> def. A post-match beat down by Steph and her new sidekick can lead to Quine coming out to save Croft, setting up that feud.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Dr_Avalanche" data-cite="Dr_Avalanche" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Paige is great, and I think she might be the one to take the belt from Steph Blake, but I don't think it happens here. My prediction is a weasel finish, like an intentional count out or DQ setting up a rematch.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Seriously, are you looking at my booking notes? <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Though, in Wolf's case, the alternative scenario you put forward was the correct one, minus a new sidekick for Croft. It just felt wrong to make someone a <a href="http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ReplacementGoldfish" rel="external nofollow">replacement goldfish</a> for Zoe Ammis. Because Zoe Ammis is <em>irreplaceable</em>. DAMN YOU, NOTBPW!</p><p> </p><p> Also, I wanted to show another side of Steph Blake. She's been a source of humor, with and without Zoe Ammis, but I felt a reminder of just how vicious she can be was worthwhile. She's lost Ammis to back her up, and Cat Jemson can't tilt the odds in Blake's favor the way she used to do. Blake may be cornered as a result, but that's when a rat gets particularly aggressive.</p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Prediction Contest Results!</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> First, we have a new first-time predictor.</p><p> <span>http://www.freakinawesomenetwork.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Punk-Promo.png</span></p><p> <strong>Hey, cbacon87, how you doing?</strong></p><p> </p><p> Now, then, onto the results!</p><p> </p><p> <strong>cbacon87 - 5/6 matches, 1/4 bonus, 6/10 overall (Tiebreaker - 2,995)</strong></p><p> Dr_Avalanche - 4/6 matches, 1/4 bonus, 5/10 overall (Tiebreaker - 2,995)</p><p> MrWolf101 - 4/6 matches, 2/4 bonus, 6/10 overall (Tiebreaker - 2,975)</p><p> Sudo_Nym - 2/6 matches, 0/4 bonus, 2/10 overall (Tiebreaker - 2,994)</p><p> Temes1066 - 2/6 matches, 1/4 bonus, 3/10 overall (Tiebreaker - 2,980)</p><p> </p><p> Had to go to the tiebreaker (not the </p><div class="ipsEmbeddedVideo"><div><iframe width="200" height="113" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/fTTZciOGu9g?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" title="wwe tye dillinger finisher"></iframe></div></div>) for this one. <p>And we clearly see kingjames' vendetta continuing, as my "official" point total is several billion short of the true count. But I suppose true talents are always the targets of a corrupt administration in this business-ah.</p><p> </p><p>

That said, you put on a good show, and it threw me for a loop expectations-wise, so that's a good combination.</p>

<p>Seeing as I won, I can say without it seeming like a "yeah, but", Quinzel was my first thought on who'd attack Foxxy, but when I went back and checked when she got hurt I figured it might be too soon even with the successful surgery boost.</p><p> </p><p>

Maybe the fact I'd just caught up on the whole thread before this show gave me a bit of a boost. Really enjoying what you're doing.</p>

<p>Interlude - Endings</p><p> </p><p>

<em>From “Smoke Signals”, the Rumblr of QAW’s Alexis Lee Littlefeather</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Posted: 8/12/2016</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Babes of Sin City died with a whimper.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/hoglXoI.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p>

BSC, as an organization, did not officially die until November 2012. However, the writing was on the wall as early as February. The grandiose dreams of becoming the premiere promotion for women’s wrestling ignored the reasons for BSC’s success in the first place. BSC wasn’t about wrestling. BSC wasn’t about competition. It was about fun. It was about color, and glamour, and sex appeal. Let’s not shy away from the obvious. Wrestling fans didn’t like BSC, <em>because what we did wasn’t wrestling</em>. It was a burlesque show in a ring.</p><p> </p><p>

People talk about BSC as if it were pornographic. It wasn’t. Oh, sure, Las Vegas loves to pretend like it’s anything goes, but the days of anything goes died out when the big corporations took over the casinos from the mobsters and the last of the Wild West gamblers. We never did outright nudity. At least not on purpose. You’ll not be surprised that baby oil is, in fact, slippery. But if you just wanted porn, the internet has that in mind-boggling quantities. I suppose if you didn’t have the internet, or cable, or the ability to go buy a magazine from behind the counter at a gas station, we would have to do. Honestly, though, I don’t think anyone came to BSC expecting porn. We were beautiful women who were having fun, doing silly things, and generally just taking the piss out of everything. We were irreverent, not pornographic.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/VYtL45L.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/pEEAJGm.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Had we just kept doing what we were doing when Honey Golightly first started things up, BSC would still be around. Who knows, maybe some cable network would have made a reality show about us at some point and that would have gotten us national attention. But us girls, I don’t think any of us really thought we were going to be big stars - much less big name wrestling stars! You ask me, I think Honey brought Marilyn Stardust in as a smokescreen. She could claim that our stuff was overseen by a trained professional, in case some athletic commission invoked some obscure rule or if we got sued. The thing of it all is, I don’t think Marilyn was ever in on the joke.</p><p> </p><p>

But Honey was an “ideas” person, and Marilyn was all about the details. As time went on, Honey’s free-wheeling spirit gave way to <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2211830&postcount=107" rel="external nofollow">Marilyn’s grand vision</a>. So she started with the training. She started drilling the girls. Which at first was totally reasonable - even if were goofing around, which we were, we needed to know how to not accidentally smack each other around and break our necks. But Marilyn, she had them doing bumps until they were bruised, which was completely idiotic, because - outside of very specific niches - huge purple contusions aren’t what people who want to see mostly-naked girls prancing around want to see.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/yKbptpB.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/eAQ50kb.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/ehMRMdR.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Maybe this seems a bit hypocritical of me. After all, I’m a “legitimate” wrestler, working for a “legitimate” wrestling promotion, Queens of American Wrestling. Yes, I actually came to enjoy doing professional wrestling. But I’m the exception, not the rule. There’s a handful of us who transitioned over, sure. Amy Galaxy toiled away, working indie shows where she barely made enough money to cover the gas money she spent to get to the show. It was nice to see she got a one-shot with AAA before she announced her retirement last month. Power Girl is still working the indies. Lora Washington, Miss American Pie (Lora, if you read this, I hope you’re feeling all right and you come back soon, girl) was the only one of us who got hired by a national promotion - USPW, which was unexpected but great! But Lora was trained up at the Cat’s Lair before she started with BSC. One of Marilyn’s “legit” girls.</p><p> </p><p>

Most of the girls I worked with? They’re out of the business. Because they never <em>wanted</em> to be in the business in the first place. And even if they wanted to be in the business, after the last few years of BSC, I don’t blame them not wanting to be anywhere around the business. After Marilyn’s big press conference, we took BSC on the road...and we played to 50 people. In venues that would hold 1,000 or 2,000 people. I’ve worked shows in front of 50 people - 50 passionate, excited people - in a VFW Hall and it was a blast, because that’s a full house. A <em>small</em> full house, but a full house nonetheless. But in a big venue, to have 50 people who mostly showed up out of idle curiosity, or because Marilyn had papered half of those tickets? It was depressing. The television contract Marilyn said was going to happen? To this day, I still don’t know if she was working us, or if she had worked herself into believing it would happen. It was a pipe dream.</p><p> </p><p>

Marilyn had us killing ourselves out there. We had come up with comedy spots, tried-and-true shtick honed over three years, and Marilyn outright forbade us from doing them. And a lot of the BSC girls, they were dancers. There’s definitely a lot of strength and stamina needed for that, but it’s not what you need to be in ring shape. A lot of the girls just weren’t built for pro wrestling. That’s not a knock on them, because most people aren’t built for it. Plus, and I say this again because it’s important, that’s not what a lot of the girls signed on for in the first place. BSC was a lark. It was a fun way to earn a little extra cash on the side. If I’m being honest, for a good number of the girls, it was a way to get out of the dreary monotony of dancing in clubs, while not having to worry about whether you were going to eat or pay rent. As time went on, it became a job - one that paid less than dancing, and somehow managed to beat you up even worse.</p><p> </p><p>

Things sort of spiraled after that. Being out on the road as much as we did ate up the cash reserves. Plus, it killed local Vegas interest in our act. We became a fad, instead of a local institution, and a lot of people had moved on when we came back. With all the fun parts of the act removed, the people who decided to stick with us eventually left, too. There’s plenty of burlesque options in Vegas, believe me. It got so bad that the Piper Casino eventually decided not to renew our lease. That was the end.</p><p> </p><p>

Oh, BSC didn’t go under immediately as a result, but it was the moment of no return. Without a regular venue, the last of the hardcore fans rarely knew where we were going to be, and when we were going to be there. A lot of venues wanted nothing to do with us for liability reasons, while others knew that a karaoke night would outdraw our show and had the good business sense not to book us. Last-minute venue cancellations burned the final, tiny remnant of our audience we had left. And then, one day, the e-mails about the next show just stopped. After a month of silence, I sent out an e-mail, asking what in the hell was going on. Holly could only just say how sorry she was about everything. Marilyn didn’t bother to respond.</p><p> </p><p>

Why am I talking about this now? I mean, you’re right to ask. This was three years ago. I’m very happy being part of QAW. I’m not doing this for clicks - I mean, honestly, is me “shooting” on a years-dead promotion going to really distract the internet’s attention away from the incessant bitching about SWF’s 50/50 booking, or how the only “real wrestling” happens in Burning Hammer? </p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/uzUL5RJ.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/SvUoXho.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p>

No, it all came up because of Elizabeth Moynihan. If the name doesn’t ring a bell, it’s because the few people - outside of her many friends and family - who might recognize her knew her as “Sister Beth Mercy”. Maybe that’s still not ringing a bell. Believe me, I know QAW is a niche product of the already niche world of professional wrestling, and I don't assume anyone who knows me because of my QAW work would know anything about BSC. But Beth and I still kept in touch, as I do with some of the girls who want to remember the good of BSC and not dwell on the bad. But today, I got some news, and I couldn’t help but dwell on the bad. Elizabeth Moynihan, the vivacious “naughty nun” who would do silly “ruler on a pole” matches and called her finisher the "Penguin Uppercut", who could always make me laugh because of how much she committed to the bit, who still made occasional appearances doing her shtick as a valet or manager for local indy feds for pure shits and giggles? She died yesterday. Car accident. Just like that, gone. She was 31. Four years younger than me.</p><p> </p><p>

I don’t know what I’m really trying to say. Maybe there’s not a point to all of this. Of course, maybe you could say the same about professional wrestling. Or about life itself. Maybe there’s no great big overarching point...and maybe that’s okay. Maybe it’s enough to understand we’ve all got an expiration date, whether we’re talking about our pro wrestling careers or our very lives. And maybe the only point there is, is to have fun while it lasts. To laugh, and to love, and to not take things so seriously.</p><p> </p><p>

I can still hear Beth’s laugh, when I think of her, even if I hadn’t seen her in person in a few years. Who knows? Maybe that’s the closest thing to life beyond death any of us can hope for in the end. It’s why I don’t look back at BSC with anger, or bitterness. I choose to remember those wild, crazy, and most of all, <strong>fun</strong> early days, and in doing so, BSC - and Beth, and everyone and everything I’ve cared about - isn’t really gone at all.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>OOC: Thanks to Sudo_Nym, who selected the death of BSC for their prediction contest narrative prize. I don't know if this is what you were expecting, but hopefully you'll like it nevertheless. You do these segments so well, but you know, now I feel crap for letting Alexis go in my game. <img alt=":o" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/redface.png.900245280682ef18c5d82399a93c5827.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

<p>Ah, BSC, how do I love thee, let me count the ways. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

As Dr_Avalanche said, you are so good at doing these. Sister Beth Mercy was a pain to work with in my playthrough, but your description of her death made me sad and regret ever mistreating her. Definite kudos for that.</p><p> </p><p>

As for Jaime vs Steph, not in your head so much as power of positive thinking. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Selfishly, it's the match-up I'd most like to see, and I don't think you could have delayed it much longer without really turning yourself in knots booking-wise. Sometimes the easiest call is the right one.</p>

The interesting part is, that line was in context of how foolish a booking strategy that is in the long run - you hold onto a good thing (like the nWo) too long, and you've not done enough to prepare for what and more importantly who comes next, and then you're in a business tailspin you're lucky to survive, if you survive. Believe me, it's something that I'm keenly aware of booking AAA - I've had the three most popular stars I started with peeled away big companies that can offer written contracts (SMY, J-Ro, Cherry Bomb) and lost an upper midcarder on the verge of the main card (Sweet, beautiful, Zoe Ammis). In fact, my current concern is very much about my midcard, to ensure that when the inevitable happens and Jaime Quine and Steph Blake and Paige Croft get scooped up, I've got someone ready to step up.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Dr_Avalanche" data-cite="Dr_Avalanche" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>You do these segments so well, but you know, now I feel crap for letting Alexis go in my game. <img alt=":o" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/redface.png.900245280682ef18c5d82399a93c5827.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="MrWolf101" data-cite="MrWolf101" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Ah, BSC, how do I love thee, let me count the ways. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p> As Dr_Avalanche said, you are so good at doing these. It doesn't make them less difficult, and it doesn't mean I roll over, but it helps keep some perspective, you know?</p><p> </p><p> It's the reason why I decided to let Alexis Lee narrate the end of BSC. Earlier, we've had Anne Stardust looking forward to seeing BSC burn to the ground and then piss on its ashes. I felt like the end of BSC should have a more respectful tone than the viewpoint characters have had in the past.</p><p> </p><p> As for Alexis, she's already 35 in 2016. I suspect in 2018, when your diary takes place, 37 year old Alexis is probably ready to get out of the game anyway. Hell, I figure part of the reason she's difficult to work with at times is because she's got one foot out the door already, and so she's going to try and get everything she wants, which makes her difficult, because if she doesn't get it, she's ready to move on to the next part of her life anyway.</p>

<p>News From the Diary Universe/AAA Heatwave Prediction Card</p><p> </p><p>

<em>From the Wrestling Network Observer, who've been getting all the scoops, brother, for over three decades</em></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">News in Brief</span></strong></span></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/7y0Bi9a.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p>

A three-way bidding war erupted into a clash of the titans of the wrestling industry over the last month for the services of <strong>Wolf Hawkins</strong>, Tommy Cornell’s sole protege and one of the hottest names in professional wrestling. Hawkins’ TCW contract came to an end, and he chose to test the open market rather than accept TCW’s extension. Unsurprisingly, USPW and SWF were both interested in acquiring Hawkins, while TCW put a long-shot bid in as well. In the end, it was SWF that won the bidding war. This is obviously a major blow for TCW, but sources say it was not unexpected, as TCW knew it would have trouble matching offers if USPW and SWF were both interested.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/VqsHUGK.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/Dw8k489.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/RkMOrtI.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/XUQsbuZ.jpg</span> </div><p></p><p></p><p>

Two Angel Athletic Association stars signed exclusive contracts with NOTBPW in the past month. <strong>Cherry Bomb</strong> joined AAA as performer and Cat’s Lair trainer last year after the first USPW Women's Champion was unable to come to terms with USPW. Cherry Bomb has been experiencing what some analysts claim to be "a career renaissance" with AAA, including what some are calling one of the best North American women’s matches of the year AAA's Women of Wrestling event. At 40, Cherry Bomb will be one of the oldest workers to be making their NOTBPW debut. NOTBPW also signed <strong>Zoe Ammis</strong>, who will be reverting to her “Agent 69” gimmick she had previously used in her early Canadian independent scene run. As Ammis was born in Canada and trained by the Stone family, insiders said it was “not surprising” NOTBPW and Ammis would have mutual interest. NOTBPW have also released <strong>Lauren Easter</strong>; sources report Easter’s release was not “directly related” to the new signings, but the final decision to release Easter was not made until negotiations with Cherry Bomb and Zoe Ammis were nearly completed.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/vofNp3M.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/TYe4Ivd.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/VfQi3Cd.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Hard times seem to loom ahead for SOTBPW. <strong>Champaign Lover</strong>, who is considered one of Mexico’s biggest celebrities and has a steadily growing following in the United States as well, will be taking a year’s hiatus as he films and promotes an as-yet untitled project. The bad news for SOTBPW continued when Pablo Rodriguez, another fixture of the main event scene, suffered a severe concussion during a match. Though the injury was not shown on SOTBPW television, witnesses at the event said the injury was “scary”, reporting that Rodriguez was “convulsing”. The timetable for his return is unknown, with some speculating Rodriguez may be “finished”. Similar injuries have historically kept performers out for at least a year.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>A number of figures in the business announced their retirements from active competition recently.</strong> Among those making a formal announcement were:</p><p> </p><p>

- <strong>Tag specialist “Old School” Rick Sanders</strong>, whose career lasted from its beginnings on the indies in the early 1990s, through the deaths of both SCCW and DAVE in the late 90s and early 2000s, to his revival and four tag team championships alongside the Masked Mauler with NYCW in the 2000s and 2010s.</p><p>

- 51 year old <strong>Shotaro Ikina</strong>, six-time BWOTWG tag team champion and one of the oldest men working a regular schedule in the business;</p><p>

- <strong>"Hardcore Killa" Aaron Mustafa</strong>, whose run with Slim V as the tag team “Thug Life” in Candian Charisma Championship Combat (4C), at least until Slim V's real-life arrest and their subsequent firing, was noted for its controversial invoking of racial stereotypes to generate heat;</p><p>

- Ex-BSC performer <strong>Amy Galaxy</strong>, who unexpectedly turned up at an AAA show in March of this year;</p><p>

- <strong>Carol Singer</strong>, who had a memorable run in CZCW as part of an angle with USPW’s Joanne Rodriguez from 2003-2004, who was also last seen at an AAA show in May; and</p><p>

- Indie worker <strong>Eve Grunge</strong>, who announced she will no longer be taking bookings as she is focusing on her music career (under her real name, Eve Atherton).</p><p> </p><p>

AAA Hame of Fame member <strong>Grace Harper</strong> has reportedly signed a one-year contract to return to AAA, this time as a color commentator.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/xHB9U1L.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Big news out of Australia as <strong>Barry Fitzgerald</strong> - a newcomer to the world of professional wrestling - announced he was opening a new promotion, Youth Energy Professional Wrestling (YEPW). Fitzgerald said YEPW would focus on “high-flying, death-defying action” to differentiate itself from other regional products. Industry experts questioned whether the Australian market would be able to support another promotion. The general feeling among insiders is that Revolution Australian Wrestling (RAW) is in no danger, as it has the backing of the Australian Sports Network and presents a very different “soap opera” product, but the entry of YEPW could result in the collapse of the smaller-sized promotions in that part of the world, since YEPW might directly compete for the same audience as Australian Professional Wrestling (APW) and ZEN, and splitting the pool of potential audience mebers three ways could result in unsustainably low audiences for all three promotions, not unlike the result of the infamous “East Coast Wars” in the late 1990s.</p><p> </p><p>

Sad news out of California as <strong>Sister Beth Mercy</strong>, former BSC worker who continued to make sporadic appearances at indy shows, passed after sustaining critical injuries in an automobile accident. Mercy was 31. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mercy's family, friends, and fans.</p><p> </p><p>

Unexpected news as the Confederation of the Territories gets bigger - Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling (PSW) has officially been announced the newest COTT member organization. The move came as something of a surprise, as PSW’s product is considered to be something of a spiritual successor to DAVE’s hardcore-style madness, leaving many observers to wonder how PSW will mesh with more “traditional” COTT products like New York City Wrestling (NYCW), Mid Atlantic Wrestling (MAW), and Original Lucha Libre is Eternal (OLLIE), though others point to Canada's 4C success within COTT as an example of different styles working within the confederation. Reports state part of the motivation for PSW joining the COTT banner was to prevent a potential all-out war in the Tri-State region, which would likely only hurt both PSW and COTT, particularly NYCW, in the long run.</p><p> </p><p>

QAW has reportedly decided to allow <strong>Charity Sweet</strong>’s contract to expire without renewal. Sources say the decision was a cost-cutting measure. In other QAW news, <strong>Foxxy LaRue</strong> won the QAW Queen of the Ring tournament, her first time winning the title. Sources say, following up on the Queen of the Ring victory, Foxxy LaRue will likely work a program with top heel <strong>Jillian Jarvis</strong>. These same sources also state <strong>Danielle Sweetheart</strong> is expected to receive a major push in the near future.</p><p> </p><p>

The SoCal regional wars continued to burn as Invincible Pro Wrestling (IPW) released a viral video in which they claimed <strong>Brother Grimm</strong>, owner of Grimm SoCal Wrestling (GSW) was “not a gangsta, but a wangsta”, among other insults. The video, featuring a rap by an unknown performer called “Grimm’s Reaper”, is said to be “catchy”, to the point that some members of the GSW audience - who are alleged by some to have been IPW plants - began performing their rendition of the rap in the middle of a GSW show. The situation started to look ugly as GSW faithful threatened physical violence against the people performing the rap, and GSW had to stop the show for about a half-hour to restore order. GSW officials were said to be “furious” and it is expected GSW will retaliate in some fashion, with some speculation Brother Grimm himself might record a “diss track” against IPW in response.</p><p> </p><p>

After they brawled following their victory two weeks ago at Girls Night Out, former friends and now bitter rivals Nadia Snow and Demelza Wade have been order by general manager to stay at least 25 feet apart at all times. Whether these two sisters-turned-sworn enemies can manage to do that is a very different question. Could a distracted Snow be just the break Ariel Breaks needs? In an unaired match two weeks ago, Glorious Gloria gave Flower Power's Wendy Anderson a black eye. Flower Power still managed to pick up the victory, but Bobbie McGee wasn't feeling too much peace and love, man. Maybe it's a fool's errand, but the high-flying hippie chick has challenged the powerhouse Gloria to a match as a result of Anderson's injury. Golden Delicious fell to the ferocity of Devil's Daughter at Women of Wrestling. Now, she takes on the second of Lilith's children, the psychobilly Ellie May Walton. Walton destroyed Katherine Goodlooks prior to their scheduled match two weeks ago - will Walton wait for the bell this time? And if so, is there anything Golden Delicious can do to stop her?</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Joanna Silver vs. Laura Flame</strong></div></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Laura Flame called out anyone in the locker room to face her at AAA Fireworks Factory one month ago. The plucky Pirate Lass of Puget Sound, Joanna Silver, has stepped up to the challenge. Can Silver make Flame walk the plank? Or will Laura Flame continue blazing her trail in AAA at Silver's expense?</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/gVkOI5G.jpg</span><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>vs. </strong></div><span>http://i.imgur.com/VcZ3dx5.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The furious and ferocious Foxxy LaRue takes on the self-proclaimed "True A-Lister of AAA", Demelza Wade, in a non-title matchup. Sources indicate Cat Jemson made this match to ensure Wade had something to think about other than wanting to continue her ongoing war with Nadia Snow. Foxxy, for her part, seems to have become enemy #1 of both members of the Uprising. Both women need to focus on the here and now as best they can, because neither woman can take the other one lightly and hope to come out with a victory.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Steph Blake & Tracey Brendon vs. Jaime Quine & Paige Croft (champions)</strong></div></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

When Jaime Quine announced her intention to challenge the winner of the Steph Blake/Paige Croft title match two weeks ago, General Manager Cat Jemson said Quine should focus on the gold she already holds, and to that effect, has ordered Jaime and her partner Paige Croft to defend the titles in the main event of Heatwave. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Jemson tapped Steph Blake for the shot at the title, and gave her Tracey Brendon, half of the AAA Hall of Fame tag team of the Brendon Sisters, as her partner. Paige Croft's medical status is unknown, after the savage attack she sustained at the hands of Steph Blake after their match at Girls Night Out. Has Cat Jemson managed to tilt the odds in Steph Blake's favor once again? Or, as Croft's matches with Blake recently have shown, do Croft and Quine have the champ's number?</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>In addition</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;">, "The Fabulous One" Grace Harper will debut her new interview segment, "Amazing Grace". Harper promises the segment will have </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>"the only thing that hits harder than I did during my illustrious career - the truth!"</em></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Harper's first guest will be Tiny Terminator, </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Paige Croft</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;">.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Bonus Questions</span></strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

1. One of these matches will not happen as billed, and a substitution will occur during Heatwave. For one point each - What match will have the substitution, who will be substituted for, and who will be the substitute?</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

2. An in-ring worker will have an introductory vignette at Heatwave. She is employed by a company in the January 1, 2016 start. Who will be AAA's newest addition?</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

3. I need to figure out some theme music for Katherine Goodlooks. What I'm looking for is something that is fun, maybe a bit bouncy, something that just puts a smile on your face, and lyrically suggests things like joy, excitement, hope, that kind of thing. Nothing dark, gloomy, or ironic. I'm offering one point for a suggestion, and if I select a suggestion, that will earn an extra point.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Tiebreaker</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

What will be the final show score, in numeric terms? The previous show, Girls Night Out, was a 62.</div></DIV>

<p>Wow, Lauren Easter is a free agent. I have to think you will sign her. Her popularity spillover from Canada should put her at least in the middle of your roster in terms of overness in your home region, while her wrestling talent is off the charts.</p><p> </p><p>

A little surprised that QAW is releasing Charity Sweet, and I think she would be nice project for you too.</p><p> </p><p>

Picks!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Uprising</strong></p><p>

<em>Somewhat surprised to see Chee in this spot, but Suarez can (and should take the loss to build up the returning Talia)</em></p><p>

<strong>Nadia Snow</strong></p><p>

<em>Part of me wants to say Ariel has a shot, but I don't think she can win without doing major damage to Snow. Breaks will probably look good in a loss though.</em></p><p>

<strong>Bobbie McGee</strong></p><p>

<em>At the start of this diary, if you had bet me that Gloria vs McGee would be on the main card of AAA, I would be out some money right now. </em><img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><em> That said, McGee is actually a good wrestler, whereas Gloria is less than Glorious (see what I did there)</em></p><p>

<strong>Ellie May Walton</strong></p><p>

<em>I'm not a fan of Ellie May, but I think the storyline demands she gets a win here.</em></p><p>

<strong>Laura Flame</strong></p><p>

<em>I think this has a good chance of being the match that gets changed around, but I'll still pick Flame.</em></p><p>

<strong>Foxxy LaRue</strong></p><p>

<em>Toughest match of the night for me to pick, but I think Foxxy's popularity needs a jolt, and this is one way to give it to her. You can give Wade an out for the loss, while LaRue benefits.</em></p><p>

<strong>Jaime Quine and Paige Croft</strong></p><p>

<em>I actually think this match ends in a draw or no decision, but I'll still make the pick. Steph lost last show, but Tracey can take the fall here. I'm not sure where the tag titles eventually end up, but putting them on Steph and Brendon put you in the same situation as if they stayed on Quine and Paige. I say you just avoid that and have the champs retain.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Bonus Questions</p><p>

1. I say <strong>Silver vs Flame</strong>, with <strong>Simony subbing in for Joanna</strong>.</p><p>

2. Got to be <strong>Lauren Easter</strong> right? I'll pop if it happens.</p><p>

3. I've been keeping No Doubt's '

</p><div class="ipsEmbeddedVideo"><div><iframe width="200" height="113" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/PHzOOQfhPFg?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" title="No Doubt - Just A Girl"></iframe></div></div>' in my back pocket for awhile waiting for the right wrestler, but I think it would fit for Goodlooks. It might be a little too ironic for what you're going for with her character, but who knows? <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

<p>Steffi Chee & Velvet Suarez vs. <strong>The Uprising (Talia Quinzel & Selina Svelte)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Main Card</p><p>

Ariel Breaks vs. <strong>Nadia Snow</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Glorious Gloria vs. <strong>Bobbie McGee</strong></p><p>

<em>Hmm, interesting that this is on the main card. I'm sure you have more plans for McGee than Gloria, but with the size difference I don't think it'd hurt if you went the other way for whatever reason.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Golden Delicious</strong> vs. Ellie May Walton</p><p>

<em>Good chance to give GD a win.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Joanna Silver vs. <strong>Laura Flame</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Foxxy LaRue vs. <strong>Demelza Wade</strong></p><p>

<em>This one is tough. Either it's a straight-up match and it's a bit of a pick'em, or Talia or Nadia get involved and it's still up in the air. I'll assume that Nadia isn't winning without Demelza matching her, but it's tough.</em></p><p> </p><p>

AAA Tag Team Championship Match</p><p>

<strong>Steph Blake & Tracey Brendon</strong> vs. Jaime Quine & Paige Croft (champions)</p><p>

<em>Another really tough call. Logical reasons for both outcomes and the more I try and weigh up each side, the more unsure I am. In the end I talked myself into Blake and Brendon winning, but this is the match I'm least confident on.</em></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Bonus Questions</p><p> </p><p>

1. One of these matches will not happen as billed, and a substitution will occur during Heatwave. For one point each - What match will have the substitution, who will be substituted for, and who will be the substitute? <strong>Narrowed it down to three, I'm going with Glorious Gloria to be replaced by Devil's Daughter. In which case, McGee's definitely not winning.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

2. An in-ring worker will have an introductory vignette at Heatwave. She is employed by a company in the January 1, 2016 start. Who will be AAA's newest addition? <strong>Tiffany Jade</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Passing on the music.</p><p> </p><p>

Tiebreaker</p><p> </p><p>

What will be the final show score, in numeric terms? The previous show, Girls Night Out, was a 62. <strong>If the top two matches both happen, that should be a solid main/semi-main, so I'll go marginally higher and say 64</strong></p>

<p>Steffi Chee & Velvet Suarez vs. <strong>The Uprising (Talia Quinzel & Selina Svelte)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Well, I think you know what I think of Talia Quinzel. Push her to the moon. </em><img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><em>

</em></p><p>

Main Card</p><p>

Ariel Breaks vs. <strong>Nadia Snow</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Sparks losing her way up the card? I don't think she can win this, but she can look good losing.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Glorious Gloria</strong> vs. Bobbie McGee</p><p>

<em>I really don't know what your plans are with these. With nothing else to go on, I guess build the monster type?</em></p><p> </p><p>

Golden Delicious vs. <strong>Ellie May Walton</strong></p><p>

<em>I half expect to be wrong here, but A) I want to see Lilith's faction look even stronger and B) I don't particularly like Golden Delicious. </em><img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><em>

</em></p><p>

Joanna Silver vs. <strong>Laura Flame</strong></p><p>

<em>If there is no swerve here, I can't possibly see Laura losing. This could very well be the match where a participant is replaced though.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Foxxy LaRue <strong>vs.</strong> Demelza Wade</p><p>

<em>Everyone is gunning for Foxxy it seems. I smell a screwy finish. </em></p><p> </p><p>

AAA Tag Team Championship Match</p><p>

Steph Blake & Tracey Brendon vs.<strong> Jaime Quine & Paige Croft </strong>(champions)</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Starting the build toward a Blake/Quine program? It feels a bit early to have Quine & Croft drop the titles here, but if it is time for Operation Push Jaime to the Moon, it might be the first step on the way. I think I still say it's not happening quite yet.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Bonus Questions</p><p> </p><p>

1. One of these matches will not happen as billed, and a substitution will occur during Heatwave. For one point each - What match will have the substitution, who will be substituted for, and who will be the substitute? </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Devil's Daughter </strong><em>sounds like a solid choice for inserting herself in a match. I think she'll take Demelza Wade's place, going after Foxxy LaRue.</em></p><p> </p><p>

2. An in-ring worker will have an introductory vignette at Heatwave. She is employed by a company in the January 1, 2016 start. Who will be AAA's newest addition? </p><p>

<em>I think you'll want to pick up both Lauren Easter and Charity Sweet, the question is mostly who was available first. I'll be a little different and say it was </em><strong>Charity Sweet</strong>.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm offering one point for a suggestion, and if I select a suggestion, that will earn an extra point. </p><p> </p><p>

I'll give you two, by the same band.

</p><div class="ipsEmbeddedVideo"><div><iframe width="200" height="113" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/UxxajLWwzqY?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" title="Icona Pop - I Love It (feat. Charli XCX) [OFFICIAL VIDEO]"></iframe></div></div> which I think is the better track, but is perhaps a bit edgy for what you're looking for (it's not *that* bad, but...well, listen for yourself). The other is

<div class="ipsEmbeddedVideo"><div><iframe width="200" height="113" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/vG649VIouI0?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" title="Icona Pop - We Got The World (Official Video)"></iframe></div></div> which is outright diabetes inducing and perfectly family friendly. Er, except the video is a lot less wholesome than the song itself. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p>

Tiebreaker</p><p> </p><p>

What will be the final show score, in numeric terms? The previous show, Girls Night Out, was a 62.</p><p>

<em>Let's say </em><strong>65</strong>.</p>

<p>Steffi Chee & Velvet Suarez vs. <strong>The Uprising (Talia Quinzel & Selina Svelte)</strong></p><p>

<em>I really like Velvet Suarez, but there's no denying that she's a project. And she's a project who's intended team fell apart and is now in a thrown-together team with a midcard veteran against a named team feature two blue-chippers.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Main Card</p><p>

Ariel Breaks vs. <strong>Nadia Snow</strong></p><p>

<em>I suppose you could have this go the other way, if you were really desperate to kill Snow's push or something.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Glorious Gloria</strong> vs. Bobbie McGee</p><p>

<em>If it goes as booked, Gloria's probably the more valuable of the two. She could at least be a monster for somebody to slay, while Bobbie has "midcard for life" written all over her. I think this match is such a throw-away that it won't be presented as booked, however.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Golden Delicious vs. <strong>Ellie May Walton</strong></p><p>

<em>I don't think GD should be thrown away, but Lilith's faction is still getting established, and I think they should look strong for as long as possible for the payoff.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Joanna Silver vs. <strong>Laura Flame</strong></p><p>

<em>I assume this is a simple squash to give Flame some juice after losing her last program. Silver isn't worth much as a wrestler, but at least she jobs for cheap.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Foxxy LaRue vs. <strong>Demelza Wade</strong></p><p>

<em>Could be a neat way to transition Wade into a standalone star, instead of leaning on the A-List forever. Foxxy needs a new opponent, as well, with Zoe gone, so perhaps a screwy finish.</em></p><p> </p><p>

AAA Tag Team Championship Match</p><p>

Steph Blake & Tracey Brendon vs. <strong>Jaime Quine & Paige Croft (champions)</strong></p><p>

<em>I don't see any reason for Steph Blake to need the titles, or any need for Quine or Croft to lose them. It seems like a way for Jaime to get a win over Steph in non-singles competition to build up a feud. Maybe Croft gets the duke to make the feud a three-way?</em></p><p> </p><p>

Bonus Questions</p><p> </p><p>

1. One of these matches will not happen as billed, and a substitution will occur during Heatwave. For one point each - What match will have the substitution, who will be substituted for, and who will be the substitute? </p><p> </p><p>

<em>The Gloria/Bobbie match seems pointless, and Katherine is apparently getting some new music, so how about Bobbie gets taken out, and Katherine Goodlooks gets inserted as her new opponent.</em></p><p> </p><p>

2. An in-ring worker will have an introductory vignette at Heatwave. She is employed by a company in the January 1, 2016 start. Who will be AAA's newest addition? </p><p> </p><p>

<em>There's no reason for you not to immediately jump on Lauren Easter.</em></p><p> </p><p>

I'm offering one point for a suggestion, and if I select a suggestion, that will earn an extra point. </p><p> </p><p>

<em>How about Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit. Teens are fun, and it's all about being here now and entertaining.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Tiebreaker</p><p> </p><p>

What will be the final show score, in numeric terms? The previous show, Girls Night Out, was a 62.</p><p>

<em>66, because I have a Price is Right gimmick going on, and I can't break the streak for a B-level show.</em></p>

AAA Presents Heatwave

Portland Expo Center

Portland, OR

August 16, 2016

Pre-Show

Steffi Chee & Velvet Suarez vs. The Uprising (Talia Quinzel & Selina Svelte)

Talia returns with a win with her tag team partner to start building momentum for a future fued. Steffi Chee and Velvet Suarez, which is an interesting team up, dont have more juice than the backbreaker messiah at this point, right?

Main Card

Ariel Breaks vs. Nadia Snow

Nadia for the win while breaks gets to look good and hopefully gain some skills and performance skills from being in there with the A-Lister

Glorious Gloria vs. Bobbie McGee

Hmmmm, kinda tough choice here. I think Bobbie would have more popularity and skill than Gloria at this point in time but you could be starting a monster like push for the Glorious...errr...Monster in Gloria. My pick is Gloria to win and maybe Wendy Anderson to make the save in a post match beatdown.

Golden Delicious vs. Ellie May Walton

Ellie for the tainted victory to keep Lilth's stable with some momentum and heat

http://i.imgur.com/XaMRxhf.jpg vs. http://i.imgur.com/A4UQJDM.jpg

Joanna Silver vs. Laura Flame

Flame is gonna make Joanna walk the plank and keep on rolling until another challenger is perhaps foolish to try their luck against her

Foxxy LaRue vs. Demelza Wade

Tough pick but im going to roll the dice on this one and pick Foxy with the huge win over Wade thanks to interference from Nadia Snow

AAA Tag Team Championship Match

Steph Blake & Tracey Brendon vs. Jaime Quine & Paige Croft (champions)

Apart of me wants to see Stpeh Blake holding the Femme Fatale Title and the tag team championship just for the promos and segements you could write showing this off. That wold be alot of fun. But i'm going to go with my better judgement and say the champs retain. Hopefully Paige makes it out there too!

Bonus Questions

1. One of these matches will not happen as billed, and a substitution will occur during Heatwave. For one point each - What match will have the substitution, who will be substituted for, and who will be the substitute?

Not to sure about this but perhaps Golden Delicious Vs Ellie May Walton. Golden Delicious will be substituted for Katherine Goodlooks

2. An in-ring worker will have an introductory vignette at Heatwave. She is employed by a company in the January 1, 2016 start. Who will be AAA's newest addition?

The One and Only Lauren Easter

I'm offering one point for a suggestion, and if I select a suggestion, that will earn an extra point.

Gwen Steffi--Hollaback Girl

Tiebreaker

What will be the final show score, in numeric terms? The previous show, Girls Night Out, was a 62.

"Good evening, and welcome from the Rose City, Portland, Oregon!" says Jim Lou Freebush, over the crowd chants of "A-A-A! A-A-A!" "We've got a real live audience tonight, ready for some top-flight AAA action! Joining me at ringside are two AAA Hall of Fame members - Cat Quine, and Grace Harper."

"Thanks, Jim. Listen to that audience!" says Cat Quine. "Portland loves AAA, and believe me, we love Portland."

"Barf. You always did love getting the cheap pop, Cat," says Grace Harper. "Let's just hope we don't have a crowd full of hipsters. Our benevolent leader, General Manager Cat Jemson - the #1 Cat in this company, incidentally - could slip on some mustache wax."

Amidst a chorus of boos, AAA General Manager Cat Jemson has a million dollar grin on her face. As she speaks, the reason for her good mood becomes obvious. “Ladies and gentlemen, all you so-called Angels, I have some news for you. But not just for you. I’d like to invite our tag team champions, Jaime Quine and Paige Croft, to join me in the ring at this time. And when I say ‘invite’, I mean, get out here, right now.” For a moment, nothing happens, and then the blare of “
” heralds the entrance of Jaime Quine and Paige Croft.

http://i.imgur.com/5Auj7Hh.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/F4Wr0uD.jpg

Croft, as a result of the vicious attacks she suffered during her match with Steph Blake at Girls Night Out, is wearing a neck brace. Both Croft and Quine are wearing very unhappy expressions, a stark contrast to the tag team belts slung over their shoulders. As they get into the ring and the music dies down, Jemson speaks. “I appreciate you both coming out here,” Jemson says, oozing condescension. “Let me get straight to the point. Paige, honey, I’ve talked to the medical staff. They tell me there is absolutely no way that you’re able to compete tonight. You’re not cleared for competition. Which is a shame, because I know all these Angels wanted to see you lose those belts tonight to Steph Blake and Tracey Brendon.” The crowd jeers the very idea. “But I am a good GM - no, I am a
great
GM, and I always give the people what they want. So, Paige, since you’re not cleared tonight, I am declaring that you and Jaime forfeit your match tonight, and as a result, we have new! Tag team champions, Steph Blake and Tracey Brendon!”

The crowd erupts with anger, and Jaime and Croft mirror their response. Jaime grabs the mic out of Jemson’s hands. “You have got to be kidding me! The only reason Paige isn’t able to compete tonight is because Steph Blake decided she couldn’t beat Paige fair and square two weeks ago, and decided to try to cripple her instead! And instead of doing anything about it, you’re giving her a reward? That’s crap, Cat, and you know it!”

Jemson snatches the microphone back. “All I know is that you and Paige are to surrender your titles, right now! And, you know what? You want me to do something? Fine. I’m not going to ruin the main event we advertised to our fans. No. So, tonight’s main event is still on - Steph Blake and Tracey Brendon will take on the uninjured member of the announced main event, Jaime Quine. There you go, how do you like that, Jaime?”

http://i.imgur.com/uBl8pJY.jpg

The
of Commissioner Persephone Coombs prevents Jaime from responding. Coombs marches toward the ring, furious. “Cat, we talked about this. This sort of thing? Is the reason I’m here. Jaime, Paige...look, I’m sorry, but the rules of AAA state the champions must vacate the championship if injury prevents them from defending the titles.” The crowd boos, and Jaime and Croft look crestfallen. “I hate it too, believe me. But unlike some people,” she says, glaring daggers at Jemson, “I’m not going to bend the rules to my whims. That said,” now turning to Jemson, “the rules also state the team the champions would have faced, are not just gifted the belt. No, instead, we’ll be having a tag team tournament, starting two weeks from now, at Liberation, to crown new champions.” Jemson looks incensed, but Persephone continues. “As for tonight’s main event, I want to give the good people here in Portland a main event to remember. So, Jaime? Find a partner for tonight. The match won’t be for the tag team titles, but I expect it will still blow the roof off this place.” Persephone’s music plays, and reluctantly, Croft and Jaime hand over their tag team championship belts to Commissioner Coombs.

“A major upheaval in the AAA championship scene!” exclaims Freebush.

“What a crock,” says Harper. “Okay, so, fine. The rules say Blake and Brendon don’t get the titles. Leave it to Coombs to enforce some obscure part of the rulebook, instead of making the obvious and correct choice.”

“The obvious and correct choice, Grace, is not to reward Steph Blake for that disgusting attack she perpetrated on Paige Croft last week,” replies Cat Quine, testily. “It’s still a shame that Jaime and Paige’s run as champions ended this way, but at least the next tag team champions will actually have to earn the right to hold the belts.”

Before things get too hot, Freebush steps in. “The tournament starts in two weeks. But right now, we’ve got the self-proclaimed “Showstopper” of AAA, Nadia Snow, taking on one of AAA’s up and coming, Ariel Breaks.”

Nadia Snow vs. Ariel Breaks

Snow continues to get cheers and support from the fans. It’s clear during this match that she’s riding a wave of energy from them, and in return, she plays to them. It’s clear Snow hasn’t lost any of the confidence - some would say arrogance - she displayed as a member of the A-List. The match is fairly fast-paced, and Breaks gets in a decent amount of offense in the middle part of the match. Spurred by fan support, Snow powers out of an abdominal stretch when she hip tosses Breaks to end the hold. Breaks gets up, only to be met with a thunderous kick to the gut. With Breaks stunned, Snow lifts Breaks up into the Snow Plow. With a flourish, she sends Breaks crashing to the mat. Though Breaks makes an attempt to get out of the pin, it has no power behind it, and Snow gets a solid three-count. (

Nadia Snow’s
is suddenly cut off, and replaced by the sound of a very slow clap. “Wow, Nadia, well done. Looks like you managed to actually get a win without me to win for you,” sneers her former A-List partner, Demelza Wade. Snow makes a beeline out of the ring and toward the curtain where Wade is, and Wade eagerly waves her on. Snow is stopped by a phalanx of security, who put several bodies between Snow and Wade, who continue to threaten each other even as security ensures they don’t restart brawling again. The crowd chants, “Let them fight! Let them fight!” In the end, the crowd doesn’t get their wish, as the security is enough to prevent the fight. Wade is ordered to return to the back, which she does, but not before blowing Snow a sarcastic kiss and waving “bye-bye” to Snow as she goes back behind the curtain. (

“You get the sense they don’t like each other?” asks Harper, dripping with sarcasm.

“What tipped you off, Grace?” Cat Quine snarks right back.

“Hey, I’m all for it,” says Harper. “I like it when two people hate each other. I mean, look, wrestling’s our job, we fight people for a living. You beat a jabroni, it’s nothing personal, just a paycheck. But there’s always something special when you know two people would fight each other in a dirty back alley with no crowd, for absolutely free. Heck, when they’d pay just to get their hands on each other. Those are the fights I love.”

“Speaking of fights, Amber Allen returns this week, taking on Helen Earth, who you long-time fans might remember,” interjects Freebush. “I’m told Allen has requested a time limit of 10 minutes for this match, as she requested in her debut match at Girls Night Out.”

“Hmpf,” scoffs Harper. “I still think Allen’s a show-off, and I still don’t like her.”

Somehow, Wendy Anderson’s black eye that she got from Glorious Gloria two weeks ago looks even worse now. “Listen, Bobbie, you don’t have to do this,” she says. “I mean, you’re all about peace and love, right? Maybe you could go with that, at least until I heal up?”

Bobbie McGee, a flower child 40 years too late, speaks with an unexpectedly heavy Deep South drawl. “Yeah, Wendy, that’s normally what I’m about,” she says with a twang. “But sometimes, you gotta say, this aggression will not stand, man. There’s a line in the sand, and that musclehead done crossed it. So I’m fixin’ ta go out there, take care of some business, and once that’s done, everythin’s groovy again.” McGee walks out of frame, as Anderson looks like she wants to say something, but she chooses to stop herself. “All the speed in the world isn’t going to help you when you’re a smear on the mat,” replies Harper.

“Ladies and gentlemen,” says Freebush, “AAA is always excited to bring you the best in women’s wrestling from around the world. I’m excited to introduce you to AAA’s latest signing - fans down in Texas already love her, and we think you’re going to love her, too. “She’s done it! Danielle Sweetheart made this a fight-a-go-go, and her hard work’s been rewarded!” exclaims Alfonso Garcia, QAW play-by-play man. Sweetheart is moved to tears as she’s handed the belt and lifts it high into the air.

The footage cuts back to Sweetheart working on a farm. She looks very good for someone doing manual labor. “I won my first world title at 23. But I lost it again five months later. Was I discouraged? Absolutely. But if you get thrown off your horse, you can either just lay there, or you can get back in the saddle again. I chose to get back in the saddle.”

Footage runs of Sweetheart’s 2013 QAW Queen of the Ring tournament victory. “Danielle Sweetheart is your new QAW Queen of the Ring!” announces Farrah Heskath. Sweetheart’s 2014 Queen of the Ring victory is shown. “Again! Sweetheart does it again!” says Heskath. Then, Sweetheart’s 2015 QotR victory plays. “Once, twice, three times-a-go-go! Back to back to back - there’s never been a Queen of the Ring as dominant as Danielle Sweetheart!” says Garcia.

Back to the farm, as Sweetheart is now in a talking-head interview shot. “Once is a fluke. Twice can be coincidence. Three times? I feel pretty confident at that point,” says Sweetheart with a smile. “I love a tournament. Anyone can win a match. Winning three matches in a single night...you can’t just be lucky. You have to be good. Especially when you’re facing some of the best women in the world.”

Back to another shot of Sweetheart on horseback. “To be the best, you have to face the best. That’s why I’m coming to AAA,” she explains in voice-over. “And I’m excited to make my in-ring debut in two weeks, at Liberation.” (

Just as the announce crews speculated, this match is completely one-sided. Unlike the speculation, though, it’s one-sided in Bobbie McGee’s favor. Fired up after her tag team partner was injured at the hands of the Glorious One, McGee’s lightning quickness and aerial assault leaves Glorious Gloria looking foolish. McGee might not even have been touched when she goes top rope and hits a flying cross body against the staggering bodybuilder. The three count saves Gloria from further humiliation. (

“You know,” says Harper, clearly annoyed, “you’re as bad as a fortune teller. Say enough crap, and eventually some of it will have to stick. Happily, for everyone in the audience who’s watching and everyone who’s watching at home, it’s time for the latest, and greatest, segment in AAA - Amazing Grace, starring me, Grace Harper!”

As the last notes of an instrumental version of “Amazing Grace” fade away, Grace Harper soaks in the adulation of the crowd. That the adulation is mostly in her own head is of no particular concern for Harper. “Tonight is the first, but I promise you, not the last, edition of what will no doubt be the biggest platform for the very best of women’s wrestling. Welcome to ‘Amazing Grace’! Tonight, I have one half of the tag team champions…” Harper overdramatically puts her hand over her mouth, “I mean, one half of the
former
tag team champions, Paige Croft.”

http://i.imgur.com/F4Wr0uD.jpg

Paige comes out to the ring in her neck brace, looking incredibly annoyed. She gets a microphone, but has nothing to say to Harper immediately. Croft stares at Harper, as if daring her to say something. Harper, of course, takes her up on the dare. “So, Paige, I got to know - how does it feel to have been stripped of the tag team title?”

Croft narrows her eyes. “Not good.”

“Oh, I’ll bet,” says Grace, clearly not afraid to poke the bear. “I mean, when I lost a title - which only happened because my opponents clearly cheated - I know I was just sick to my stomach. Felt like dirt. Lower than dirt! And with this being your first championship, I’m sure the worst time is the first time. But at least I lost the belts in the ring. You didn’t even do that. They just up and left, taken away by Commissioner Coombs. Your thoughts?”

Croft cocks an eyebrow. “I think Steph Blake has hell to pay.”

“I suppose you did get a victory over her two weeks ago,” says Grace. “Title didn’t change, but still, a win’s a win, right?” Croft’s anger is cold enough to freeze a desert oasis. “But it wasn’t just you that lost a belt tonight. Your partner, Jaime Quine, she lost a belt too. How does that make you feel, knowing you’re responsible for that?”

Croft’s restraint is admirable. “I hate it, Grace. But believe me. I didn’t want this to happen. For two weeks, I did everything I could so that I would be cleared to wrestle tonight. If it were up to me, I would be in the ring tonight, injured neck or not. I argued with the medical staff. They just wouldn’t let me.”

“Clearly didn’t argue hard enough, I suppose,” says Grace, offhandedly insulting Croft once again. “But listen, I am a fair and unbiased broadcast journalist. I don’t think you’re the only one responsible for you losing your title. After all, where was Jaime Quine during your match with Steph Blake? She’s your partner, isn’t she? Shouldn’t she have been at ringside with you? Why did it take her so long to get to the ring when Steph Blake attacked you?” Grace snorts. “With friends like that, who needs enemies, right?”

Croft blinks, frozen. Then the ice melts and she starts edging towards Harper. Harper’s eyes get a little wider, and she starts backing up. Eventually, Harper’s on the ropes, and Croft is in her face. “Grace? This interview is over.” Croft throws the mic to the ground and stomps to the back. Harper looks utterly relieved as she slinks back to the broadcast table. (

As Grace regains her composure, Golden Delicious gets to take on the second of Lilith’s children. It does not go better than the first time she met one of Lilith’s children. Walton absorbs GD’s blows, barely flinching. Meanwhile, Walton tosses GD around the ring like a rag doll. Walton isn’t even so much trying to win, as to inflict pain. Eventually, Walton wraps her hands around GD’s throat and begins blatantly choking her. Referee Dwight Kumas gives her a five count to break the choke, but Walton is clearly somewhere else and completely ignores him. After having exhuasted the five count, Kumas has no choice but to call for the disqualification. (

GD’s face turns a bright crimson, and she drops to her knees, but Walton still doesn’t let go. Lilith comes into the ring, cackling. GD looks at Lilith, panic and pleading and desperation in her eyes. Lilith’s response is to smile even wider, like a crocodile. GD begins to fade, and finally Lilith says, “Release her.” Walton immediately complies, and GD crumples to the ground in a heap. Lilith cruelly laughs again, and heads toward the back. This match, though highly anticipated, never really clicks - despite both women being immensely talented, their work in the ring turns out to be oil and water. Even still, even without ever really getting out of first gear, LaRue and Wade put on a high-energy, fast-paced (if somewhat stop-start) match. Both women get a decent amount of offense in on each other, and a few near-falls draws the audience in well-enough.

Around the nine-minute mark, Foxxy starts getting the upper hand on Wade. She knocks Wade into the corner and climbs up for the ten-punch. With every punch that connects, the audience counts along. But when Foxxy drops down to the canvas, she sees Selina Svelte on the apron across from her. She goes to confront her, only to have Talia Quinzel climb onto another arpon. Foxxy looks back and forth between the two, then tells them that she’ll take both of them on. Both women smile, but don’t make a move. Foxxy taking her eye off Wade proves to be a huge mistake, as when Foxxy turns back around to deal with Wade, Wade unleashes a huge SuperStar kick out of the corner. Certainly, as a mother, anyone who whatsoever does harm to my children, I repay that harm threefold. So do not misunderstand me, dearies - I wholly support your need to pay back unto others, what was done to you.”

Lilith now approaches the ring, with Devil’s Daughter and Ellie May Walton close behind. “But as delightful you may be, you are still but children of Eve. You are not

Quinzel and Svelte look shaken. “So, girls. You have been naughty children. And naughty children will be punished. But...we understand the folly of youth. We understand your enthusiasm to inflict your will upon others. Therefore, we give you a blessing...and a curse. Two weeks from now, at Liberation, the Devil’s Daughter is owed a rematch for the Fox’s crown. I am both amused, and annoyed, with you to offer you this - an opportunity to join the match. Yes, Talia, my poppet. Do you want that crown back?” Talia hesitates and looks to Svelte, who clearly wants nothing to do with this and gives her no help. Talia takes a deep breath, and nods her head yes. Lilith smiles her unnerving smile once again. “Good. Because when we make an offer, you best not refuse it. “There you go again, Cat, always the pessimist,” chides Harper. “The way I look at it is, this means double the beatdown on Foxxy LaRue. Everybody wins! Oh, and speaking of beatdowns, I wonder if your little sis Jaime managed to find a partner to replace Paige Croft in the main event?”

Having entered to the sounds of “
”, Steph Blake and Tracey Brendon eagerly await Jaime Quine. Jaime’s music starts, to a big crowd pop. Jaime comes out, but stays near the curtain. As the reaction and the music dies down, Jaime speaks. “Two weeks ago, you hurt my friend, Steph. You hurt her because you know you couldn’t beat her. I wish she was able to come out with me to give you a receipt for what you did two weeks ago. Luckily, there is a line of people who would love to get their hands on you, Steph. We actually had to draw straws. So, let me introduce my tag team partner for tonight.”

” begins playing as the Miracle Blonde Suzanne Brazzle comes out from behind the curtain. Blake and Brendon look less than happy about this turn of events. Brazzle stands side by side with Quine, and with a nod of their heads, both women run down the aisle and slide into the ring, ready for a fight. (

Steph Blake & Tracey Brendon vs. Jaime Quine & Suzanne Brazzle

This one starts out chaotic, as both teams immediately go at each other in the center of the ring. The referee has trouble separating the two teams, and after much effort, manages to get both teams into their respective corners. Quine and Brendon start the match off, and the bell rings once their partners get out onto the apron. Brendon may be a Hall of Famer, but Quine’s clearly fired up and takes the upper hand early in this one. A poke to the eye stops Quine’s momentum, though, and gives Brendon enough time to tag Blake in. Quine, needing a moment to recover, tags Brazzle in.

Brazzle is able to catch Blake coming across the ring, but Blake turns the tables by getting Brazzle into her team’s corner. Drawing upon their experience from prior tag teams, Blake and Brendon use a series of quick tags and solid control of the ring to keep Brazzle on her heels. Any time Brazzle looks like she’s about to get out of the trouble she’s in, Blake or Brendon make a tag and the fresh partner is able to prevent the escape. Eventually, Blake makes a mistake when she tries to pull Brazzle up by the hair in the center of the ring. Brazzle is able to use her leg strength to hit a Pele kick and drop Blake. It’s enough of a break that Brazzle makes a leap towards her corner, and in comes Quine with a head of steam.

With clearly a fair amount of aggression needing to get out, Quine’s onslaught is too much for Blake, who winds up trying to beg Jaime off at one point - to no avail. Quine drops Blake with a flapjack and sets up for a K.O. Kick. Brendon, tag veteran she is, immediately tries to blind side Quine. Quine seems to have anticipated Brendon interfering, though, and she quickly tags Brendon with a K.O. Kick. Turning her attention back to Blake, who’s just struggled to her feet, Quine hits another K.O. Kick on Blake. With both members of the opposing team down on the mat, Jaime Quine makes the pin and gets the three. (
Jaime Quine and Suzanne Brazzle defeated Tracy Brendon and Steph Blake in 18:42 when Jaime Quine defeated Steph Blake by pinfall with a K.O. Kick. Rating - 63

“Jaime Quine has pinned the Femme Fatale champion!” exclaims Freebush.

“For crying out loud,” says Harper. “It’s a tag team match! Tag team matches are nothing like one-on-one matches. Enjoy the victory while you can, Jaime, it’ll be the only time you’ll ever pin the Queen of AAA in your life!”

“I don’t know, Grace,” says Cat Quine, needling her commentary partner. “Maybe we just saw a preview of what’s to come.”

“We won’t have to guess about the future for very long,” says Freebush, “because in two weeks, AAA is back in action. Join us for Liberation - you won’t want to miss it! On behalf of my broadcast partners Grace Harper and Cat Quine, I’m Jim Lou Freebush. We extend our thanks to our fans in the great city of Portland, and all the Angels all over the world. Thank you, and good night!”

<p>Heatwave Prediction Results & Comments</p><p> </p><p> <strong>AAA Presents Heatwave</strong></p><p><strong> Portland Expo Center</strong></p><p><strong> Portland, OR</strong></p><p><strong> August 16, 2016</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Pre-Show</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> Steffi Chee & Velvet Suarez vs. <strong>The Uprising (Talia Quinzel & Selina Svelte)</strong></p><p> </p><p> So, friggin' lulz - Velvet Suarez, who I brought in to tag with Electric Dreamer, has terrible chemistry with Dreamer. So, I tried Suarez with another roster member...and she's got terrible chemistry with Steffi Chee, too. I ain't even mad, it's just funny. Anyway, the Uprising was going to win this one no matter what, and it was a chance to see Talia get back in the ring and see if there's any lingering problems from Talia's injury. She seems good to go. Suarez eats the pin, like she was going to do anyway, but given the chemistry note, I'm very happy with putting her in that spot.</p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Main Card</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> Ariel Breaks vs. <strong>Nadia Snow</strong></p><p> </p><p> Ariel Breaks is one day going to be good. She's all of 20, I think? I'm not going to push her like Tyler Bate, but I do like getting her reps with very good opponents. Nadia Snow gets the win here, but keeping both members of the A-List strong while they're beefing hopefully makes both women come out looking better in the end.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="sincerenoble" data-cite="sincerenoble" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Nadia for the win while breaks gets to look good and hopefully gain some skills and performance skills from being in there with the A-Lister</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="MrWolf101" data-cite="MrWolf101" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Part of me wants to say Ariel has a shot, but I don't think she can win without doing major damage to Snow. Breaks will probably look good in a loss though.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> That's pretty much it. Breaks looks good and learns in the loss. </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Sudo_Nym" data-cite="Sudo_Nym" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I suppose you could have this go the other way, if you were really desperate to kill Snow's push or something.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Ha! <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> In pure game mechanics? Absolutely. It'd kill her right dead. That said, Breaks is going to pull off an upset at some point, kicking off her non-jobber run. But that's sure as heck not right now, and it's sure as heck not against Nadia Snow.</p><p> </p><p> Glorious Gloria vs. <strong>Bobbie McGee</strong></p><p> </p><p> So, fun fact - Glorious Gloria has serious heat with Wendy Anderson. I tried to meddle and fix things, but it actually only made things worse. I don't think Gloria is long for AAA. She's managed to injure an opponent, she's a capital-p Project, and my roster is bloated. I'm going to need to start making cuts in the near future, and gotta say, Gloria's on a short-term contract. So, why not see if we can give Bobbie McGee a win here. Sure, Bobbie's a jobber to the stars, but she's got to be able to beat <em>someone</em> to remain effective in that role. Plus, I suppose this was a bit of punishment for the legit injury to Wendy Anderson. Not super big on Anderson, but it's the principle of the thing.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="cbacon87" data-cite="cbacon87" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Hmm, interesting that this is on the main card. I'm sure you have more plans for McGee than Gloria, but with the size difference I don't think it'd hurt if you went the other way for whatever reason.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> If it was ever necessary to define "pee-break match", this would likely end up the sole definition. Probably didn't need to have this on the show, honestly.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Golden Delicious</strong> vs. Ellie May Walton</p><p> </p><p> Rage DQs are generally a weak bit of booking. I'm not claiming this isn't. But Golden Delicious' momentum I want to keep out of the toilet, and conversely, it's Ellie May Walton. So, this is all character building stuff for Ellie. Try to establish her as someone who's in it to hurt people. Winning is, at best, a secondary objective.</p><p> </p><p> Joanna Silver vs. <strong>Laura Flame</strong></p><p> </p><p> So, true facts - I dropped the ball on Flame's challenge. In some ways, I'm actually trying to make lemons out of lemonade, for forgetting that I had her put a challenge out. But I'm excited about Laura Flame and Amber Allen. They are both good in-ring, and Flame's really been punching above her weight in terms of the scores she's able to put on.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Dr_Avalanche" data-cite="Dr_Avalanche" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>If there is no swerve here, I can't possibly see Laura losing.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Sudo_Nym" data-cite="Sudo_Nym" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I assume this is a simple squash to give Flame some juice after losing her last program. Silver isn't worth much as a wrestler, but at least she jobs for cheap.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Yeah, Flame is in a very strong midcard position. She's going to lose to the top of the card, but she should easily dispose of the bottom of the card. Joanna Silver...well, she's like Enzo Amore as a singles wrestler. As in, she should lose every single time. But like Enzo, she might be better in a managerial role than in the ring. Silver, I keep around because she doesn't cost much and is an excellent positive force backstage. I'd pay her just for the boost she gives me in the backstage environment; jobbing and managing is just the icing on the cake with her.</p><p> </p><p> Foxxy LaRue vs. <strong>Demelza Wade</strong></p><p> </p><p> It's rather unfortunate that Foxxy and Wade have the "poor chemistry" note. Foxxy is someone I'd like to elevate to the main event in the near future. Wade is already a main-event level talent. It's a shame that they're a booking option I won't have as things progress. I might still book them at some point or another, but not in the semi-main slot.</p><p> </p><p> The match, in story terms, doesn't actually do much for Demelza beyond her getting a win. This match mostly pushed forward the Foxxy/Quinzel story. It also let me rope in Lilith's crew. I think it's an interesting dynamic - the Uprising are heels, no doubt about it, but they don't want <em>anything</em> to do with Lilith's bunch. I'm not a huge fan of the idea of "heel solidarity", that all the heels are one big happy family. In fact, generally, I feel like the heels should generally be <em>worse</em> than the faces at getting along together, because most heels are greedy, self-centered, backstabbing jerks. Oh, sure, I can have them work together, temporarily, because spite is a powerful motivating force. But the Uprising wants Foxxy's belt because they believe it was and still is Talia's belt. Lilith's crew wants the title because it's a step in their overall dark design. Foxxy wants to keep the belt. No one should be getting along out of this bunch. So yes, the Uprising is <em>creeped the heck out</em> by Lilith and her brood, because they're a bunch of creepy weirdos.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Dr_Avalanche" data-cite="Dr_Avalanche" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Everyone is gunning for Foxxy it seems. I smell a screwy finish.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Temes1066" data-cite="Temes1066" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Talia interferes as she has unfinished business with Ms. LaRue.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I suppose I telegraphed this one. I mean, they interfered last week, of course they're going to interfere this week, right?</p><p> </p><p> Steph Blake & Tracey Brendon vs. <strong>Jaime Quine & Suzanne Brazzle</strong></p><p> </p><p> Okay, this is the cheapest booking of the night. Jaime Quine is, no doubt, the promotion's biggest star. Even while losing to Cherry for the first half of the year, Jaime was getting over. Beating Cherry twice in a row, though? That put her onto a different level of pop compared to the rest of the roster (at least in-ring; Persephone is actually still more popular. Credit/blame TV). I put the belts on Jaime and Paige with the intention of transferring them over to Blake and Ammis. We would have had all the AAA belts controlled by those two - Blake as Femme Fatale champion, Ammis as Top Contender champion, and the pair of them as the tag team champions. Blake's ego would swell to the point it would be visible from space. But along comes NOTBPW and they screw it up by taking Ammis away (also forcing an audible where Foxxy won back the title she just lost).</p><p> </p><p> The rest of the tag team division just is not on Jaime or Paige's level. And I am not going to screw up Jaime's pop just to get the tag titles off her. So, I cheesed the heck out of it, and vacated the titles. I'm not actually a big fan of tournament arcs, but they do seem to have fans around here, and I absolutely see the storytelling potential. The tag division does need some more attention, so this is definitely a way to get some more spotlight on the division I think I've done the worst job with overall.</p><p> </p><p> And, why yes, I <em>did</em> just use a "X has pinned the champion!" in my booking. Do not expect this to become a habit.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="MrWolf101" data-cite="MrWolf101" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I'm not sure where the tag titles eventually end up, but putting them on Steph and Brendon put you in the same situation as if they stayed on Quine and Paige.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Exactly. With the "two woman power-trip" story killed off due to Ammis getting poached, putting the belts on Blake and Brendon puts me in mostly the same bad place as having them on Jaime and Paige.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Dr_Avalanche" data-cite="Dr_Avalanche" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Starting the build toward a Blake/Quine program? It feels a bit early to have Quine & Croft drop the titles here, but if it is time for Operation Push Jaime to the Moon, it might be the first step on the way.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Sudo_Nym" data-cite="Sudo_Nym" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42833" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>It seems like a way for Jaime to get a win over Steph in non-singles competition to build up a feud.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> If I tried to do anything but this direction, it would only be swerving for swerving's sake.</p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Bonus Questions</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>1. One of these matches will not happen as billed, and a substitution will occur during Heatwave. For one point each - What match will have the substitution, who will be substituted for, and who will be the substitute?</strong></p><p> </p><p> The Tiny Terminator <strong>Paige Croft</strong> proves she's human after all, and was replaced by <strong>Suzanne Brazzle</strong>.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>2. An in-ring worker will have an introductory vignette at Heatwave. She is employed by a company in the January 1, 2016 start. Who will be AAA's newest addition?</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Danielle Sweetheart</strong> becomes the second QAW worker to join AAA.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>3. I'm offering one point for a suggestion, and if I select a suggestion, that will earn an extra point.</strong></p><p> </p><p> So many good choices here. I particularly enjoyed the troll suggestion of "Smells Like Teen Spirit", could have gone further with "You Know You're Right", though. However, Doc, you get the extra point because <strong>"We Got the World"</strong> is exactly the kind of song I think would work for Katherine Goodlooks.</p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Tiebreaker</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>What will be the final show score, in numeric terms? The previous show, Girls Night Out, was a 62.</strong></p><p> </p><p> Overall, the show scored a <strong>59</strong>. Which isn't bad, honestly, though I do feel like this was a "down" show after Girls Night Out. I experimented with a bunch of stuff in the booking, and some of it didn't work out, but now I know. And I learned it during a show that wasn't of immense plot importance. I'll take that as a kind of victory.</p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Prediction Contest Results</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> cbacon87 - 6/7 matches, 0/5 bonus, 64 tiebreaker</p><p> Dr_Avalanche - 4/7 matches, 3/5 bonus, 65 tiebreaker</p><p> <strong>MrWolf101 - 6/7 matches, 1/5 bonus, no tiebreaker </strong></p><p> sincerenoble - 5/7 matches, 1/5 bonus, 62 tiebreaker</p><p> Sudo_Nym - 5/7 matches, 1/5 bonus, 66 tiebreaker</p><p> Temes1066 - 5/7 matches, 0/5 bonus, 58 tiebreaker</p><p> </p><p> MrWolf101 just edges this one out. Six people took a guess, which I think is the most for any contest so far. I'm sorry about the wait, but I think you'll be seeing the next story interlude in far less time than it took to get this show out. Thanks for reading, and as always, any comments or feedback you have, I'm happy to listen <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

Interlude - The Marriage of Miss Mexico

San Antonio, TX

August 18, 2016

http://i.imgur.com/kEkUwNO.jpg

Cat Quine beamed. “You know how you can tell we all really do care, Rosie? We were willing to come to San Antonio in August just to see you get married.”

http://i.imgur.com/kP8yjR5.jpg

Rosalva Quesada - known to wrestling fans as “Miss Mexico” - laughed. Her bright red hair was an enormous contrast to the creme-colored wedding dress she wore. “And you know that we all really care, because we were willing to come to Montreal in April to just to see you get married to this guy!”

http://i.imgur.com/6i4qxCW.jpg

Cat and her husband, Damian Carvill - known all across Canada as “The Natural” - grinned. “Touché,” Cat acknowledged. “I do have a question, though - do we still call you ‘Miss’ Mexico at this point? Because ‘Missus Mexico’ doesn’t have nearly the same ring to it.”

Rosie grinned. “How about we go with Ms. Mexico?” Turning to her new husband, she asked, “What do you think, Benny? I like Ms. Mexico. It sort of sounds like Ms. Marvel, and I’m essentially a superhero, right?”

“You are a superhero, as far as I’m concerned, so yes,” said Benito. Paula Abdul was right,

, thought Cat. Even a few years after retiring from in-ring work, Miss Mexico had the body of a pin-up model. She was, in Cat’s opinion, almost too pretty for pro wrestling - she could be added to the cast of a telenovela and be the best looking woman on the show. Rosie was colorful, bold, incredibly athletic, and had been a pleasure to work with during her AAA run. Benny, on the other hand, was almost the platonic ideal of an accountant; if he hadn’t chosen the profession, he would have been rejecting destiny itself. But Rosie adored him, and from everything Cat had seen this weekend, Benny adored her. That’s what mattered.

“I’m so very happy for you two,” said Cat Quine, hugging both the bride and groom. “I’m not going to monopolize your time. Especially since a good chunk of this crowd regularly beats each other up for a living.”

If women’s wrestling in the United States was bigger than it was, papparazzi-style photos of Cat Quine and Farrah Heskath would already be on the internet. Even mainstream publications would have posted Richard Eisen and Allen Packer shaking hands. As much as Cat and Farrah would love that level of interest, the two owners sat together without even a whisper about such a meeting. “I have to hand it to you, Cat. Women of Wrestling this year was a heck of a show,” said Farrah. Had it been someone else, Cat might have wondered what the angle was. But Farrah had always been straight-up with Cat, and Cat had always been straight up with her. Farrah had tact - if the show had bombed, she wouldn’t have said anything - but she was not a flatterer, either.

“Thanks, Farrah,” said Cat. “Queen of the Ring was pretty good this year too. And I’m not just saying that because you had Foxxy win it.”

http://i.imgur.com/gVkOI5G.jpg

Farrah shrugged. “She’s a legit draw down here. And to be honest, her work in your company was part of it. When you hired Foxxy, I was worried that you were going to job one of my main event stars out left and right. I mean...I always did what I could to remain on Anne’s good side. But you know as well as I do, if Anne Stardust had decided I was a threat, that’s exactly what she would have done.”

http://i.imgur.com/Opjjmbh.jpg

“I’m not Anne,” said Cat. She didn’t mean to sound testy, but it came through anyway.

“I never said you were,” said Farrah. Cat sighed, realizing how she was coming across.

“I’m sorry,” said Cat. “That was out of line. I just...I mean, I know Anne was invited tonight. And I know Anne isn’t doing anything that would make it so that she couldn’t be here. Most of the rest of us, we had to figure out how to fit this into our schedules. Anne has all the time in the world, but she didn’t show. I suppose I shouldn’t have expected anything else.”

Farrah chuckled. “You know, Anne always went on about how glad she was that she never had children. But honestly, she did. You might not be blood, but you couldn’t be any more Anne’s daughter even if you shared DNA.” Cat laughed, but shook her head. “Oh, don’t even try to deny it, Cat!” Farrah said with a chuckle. With a bit more seriousness, Farrah continued. “She always thought so. I really thought Anne would die before turning the reins over to anyone else. I know you bought AAA, but honestly, it seemed more like an inheritance from down here.”

Cat shrugged. “She drove me nuts. Drives me nuts. But I love the tight-fisted, domineering old bat anyway.”

Farrah laughed. “Most people have parents that drive them crazy.”

“I’m still disappointed she didn’t show,” said Cat.

“It’s true that she didn’t show,” said Farrah. “But - and don’t you tell anyone else this, because I wouldn’t tell anyone else but you - she sent Rosie a $2,000 check as a wedding present, with the memo line, ‘Make sure you actually take a honeymoon’. No card or anything, though. Just the check and a note to keep quiet about the source of the money.”

Cat grinned while shaking her head. “She’s the most contrary, contradictory person I’ve ever met. That I ever hope to meet. This world only needs one Anne Stardust. I’ll toast to that.” Cat and Farrah’s glasses clinked. “Of course, it appears that little bit of Anne seems to have rubbed off on you.” Farrah raised an eyebrow. “Word is, you’re the one paying for Ashley Grover’s trip to rehab, and that you didn’t want anyone to know you were. And no, I’m not telling you the source of that, but I can tell you it wasn’t Foxxy or Danielle.”

http://i.imgur.com/dVB0PQi.jpg

Farrah put her head in her palm, elbow resting on the table. “Christ. I mean...Ash is a good person, with a bad problem. I have the money, she didn’t have the insurance, what else could I do? But I didn’t want to make a deal out of it. So much of this business is so carny. People would call it a PR stunt. Of course, now they’ll say that I leaked the rumor for PR, so I can look both good and humble.”

Cat sat back in her chair. “Maybe, Farrah, that’s because you actually are. Especially by wrestling promoter standards.”

http://i.imgur.com/zUsPh6M.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/kEkUwNO.jpg

Grace Harper grabbed Cat Quine by the arm. “Nope. Stay right here.”

Cat gave her a puzzled look. “Why?”

“You’re going to go see your husband, right?”

“It’s what I normally do, yes.”

“Well, he’s busy talking to a couple of his co-workers.”

“So?”

Grace smirked. “So I don’t want you putting a damper on Rosie’s big day by getting into it with Kristabel Plum.”

http://i.imgur.com/8Am0XvX.jpg

Cat glanced across the room. “Oh. Yep. There she is.”

“Uh huh.” Grace took a sip of punch. “So you’re going to hang out with me until either he or she walks away.”

“Honestly, I have no desire to talk to Kristabel, much less get into an argument with her,” said Cat. “What’s done is done.”

“So what went down between you two, anyway?” asked Grace. “I mean, I know the vague outlines, but I tried to keep my head down when all that went down. I know she left suddenly, and you had to hurry and take the Top Contender strap off her.”

Cat sighed. “It’s...I don’t know. Hard to explain. Especially in hindsight. I mean, yeah, it’s true Anne and I got caught blindsided by her going to NOTBPW. And she was the current Top Contender champion, probably would have been the Femme Fatale champion in another year or two. But I know things happen. I mean, I put the Top Contender belt on Zoe Ammis at Women of Wrestling, had to take it right back off because she got poached by NOTBPW. Hell, Cherry was my co-booker, head trainer, and ran the backstage, and she left with two weeks’ notice. Did I like it? No. Of course not. They were both money draws. Cherry even came into AAA with the idea that her career was winding down and she said, repeatedly, she was slowly transitioning to backstage. But this is a business. NOTBPW, and USPW - heck, even 5-Star - they offer guaranteed, written contracts. They offer more than we can. They have TV contracts. As much as I don’t like it, I can’t really blame someone for chasing the dollars while they still can.”

Grace took another sip of punch. “That didn’t answer the question.”

“No,” admitted Cat. “No, it didn’t. It was...a perfect storm, I guess. Anne was turning more of the booking duties over to me. I was high on Kris. It was my call to put the belt on her. She was my first ‘project’. I was going to make her the next big thing. Had t-shirts made, programs with her on the cover, put her prominent on DVD covers. Then, out of the blue, she faxes Anne a resignation. She’s still got the belt. I get into the office, and Anne lets me have it. Why didn’t I see it coming? How am I going to get the belt back? What am I going to do with all the Kristabel Plum merch? How am I going to fix it? I was embarrassed as hell. The first major program I was running with minimal involvement by Anne, and it crashes and burns.”

“So I get on the phone and call Kris. She doesn’t answer. I call again a few hours later. Nothing. Finally, I get a call around eight. I’m hot, and Kris is totally nonchalant. I tell her we need her to drop the Top Contender title before her contract with us ends. She tells me her contract lapsed, and so she’s not going to wrestle for us without one. I flip through my paperwork - and she’s right, her contract had lapsed. She was working per appearance, not over a set time period, which I didn’t remember. Kris tells me she’s holding onto the belt to make sure she got paid for the last show she worked. I told her we cut checks monthly. Kris tells me I can have the belt back as soon as the check clears. Now I’m pissed, because she’s questioning my integrity, and I’m already hearing Anne getting onto me about how we’re going to have to vacate the title and how small-time it’s going to make AAA look when it hits the dirt sheets why we had to vacate the title.”

“So Kris has me over a barrel here, and she knows it. Now, I felt like I had been honest with her, while she had knowingly let her contract lapse without even saying to me, ‘hey, so about my contract.’ I had pushed her to Anne, and pushed her to the public, and I felt like I was responsible for giving her the exposure that she used to go get a big payday up in Vancouver. So I tell her as much, and she tells me that if I really thought she was important, I would never have let her contract lapse. She tells me it’s pretty clear how important I really think she is, and my actions don’t just speak louder than words, that they scream at the top of their lungs that I’m full of crap. I get why she could believe it, ten years later, but I didn’t then. To this day, she still believes that, and to this day, I know she’s wrong about that. But time gives perspective you don’t have in the moment.”

“So, I’m having to eat crap on the phone, just endure it, because I’m not going to just vacate the title. I’m going to salvage this, though, because I don’t want to blow things the first time Anne lets me take the helm. I tell her we’ll offer her a one-night contract to drop the belt. She says she wants $1,500 to do it. That’s more than double her appearance fee on the lapsed contract. I tell her I’ll do $900. She tells me this isn’t a negotiation. If I really want her to drop the belt on the show, the price is $1,500. Plus she wants both the $1,500 and what she’s owed in cash, because she doesn’t want me to cancel the check on her. Like I would do something so low as that. That really pissed me off. But I’m dead set on ‘fixing’ this, so I agree to it.”

“Night of the show, we’re an hour away from curtain, and Kris isn’t there. I have no messages, no e-mails, no calls as to why. I’m calling her, but no answer. No call back when I leave voicemails. So here I am, having promoted a Top Contender title match with Kris, and she’s not there, and Anne is asking me where the hell Kris is, and I have to tell her I don’t know. Anne did that eye roll thing that makes you feel like you’re the smallest person on earth. Finally, 15 minutes before the main show, while we’ve already got the pre-show going, Kris shows up like nothing’s going on. I ask her where the hell she’s been, and she just says, ‘Traffic was bad.’ I don’t even know how to respond to that. She says she wants to see the contract immediately. I get it, and she reads it over. She says she wants to see the cash. I take her to the locker room, show it to her, like I’m doing a ransom handoff. She actually asks to count it herself. She does, and then she signs the contract.”

“The match stunk. It should have been a show-stealer. Sara was really coming into her own, and even if I don’t like her, Kris is a damned good worker. But Kris couldn’t have telegraphed how completely disinterested she was any harder. I do all of this, bend over backwards for her, and she doesn’t even try. She gets to the back, I ask her what the hell was that. She says she’s not going to get herself injured before her NOTBPW contract starts, and she walks off, right out to the parking lot. At this point, I lose my temper, and tell her how ungrateful she’s been, but with a lot more colorful language than that. She shrugs it off, tells me she doesn’t owe me anything, gets in her car, and drives off.”

Grace purses her lips. “Damn.” She finishes off her punch. “You know, the guys over at DaSheetz would pee themselves with glee if you ever told that story on air.”

The crowd in the reception hall slowly drifted away. Cat and Damian gave their last well-wishes to the new bride and groom, then left as well. The sun had gone down, and temperatures were something much closer to pleasant. The pair ambled along the River Walk, in no rush to get back to their hotel room. “You know,” said Damian, “this weekend is the most I’ve seen you in a month.”

“Yeah. Thank god for Skype, right?” said Cat.

http://i.imgur.com/Dw8k489.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/RkMOrtI.jpg

“Sharrie and Zoe are fitting right in during the shows,” said Damian. “Sharrie just got a victory on Nina Cacace. Clean one-two-three. It was a pretty good match. And not a dark match, either.”

Cat sighed. “I wish your employers would stop snapping up my talent.”

Damian chuckled. “It does kind of make things a little weird when I talk to the front office guys,” he said. “But they don’t tell me about who they’re looking at, and they’ve never approached me for inside scoop on any of the AAA roster. They know better.” The couple sat on a bench, watching the reflection of lights on the water. “How’s Amber fitting in? Her and Laura's face-to-face looked pretty good, at least watching the feed.”

http://i.imgur.com/fzhTaWY.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/A4UQJDM.jpg

“It'll probably be the second best match of the night,” said Cat. “The ten-minute thing is gimmicky, and it limits the story those two could tell. They'll have to rush to get their spots in. And the ending I think we're going with is gimmicky as hell. But I believe they'll still manage to turn out a fantastic match, despite all the baggage.”

The couple sat in silence for a bit, a comfortable silence, hand-in-hand. Eventually, Damian broke the silence. “You know what I’m impressed about?”

“What?” asked Cat.

“I’m impressed that there’s no news about your new signing,” he said. “Not even a single rumor.”

<p>An Interview with Nadia Snow, plus the Liberation Prediction Card</p><p> </p><p>

<em>On the “Cat’s Corner” interview section on the AAA website</em></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/kEkUwNO.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p>

<strong>Cat Quine:</strong> Welcome all you Angels, to another edition of “Cat’s Corner”. Joining me today is a woman probably best known as being one half of the A-List, but who has recently decided to go her own way - Nadia Snow. Nadia, thank you for agreeing to this interview.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/AWOWtpe.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p>

<strong>Nadia Snow:</strong> You’re welcome, Cat, it’s good to be here.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/VcZ3dx5.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/9u2gi3f.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p>

<strong>CQ:</strong> Let’s not dance around things. When you arrived in AAA in 2009, you and Demelza Wade had just come from Atlanta, and declared that, as A-Listers, you were “too good” for AAA.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NS:</strong> Yeeeeeeeah. We did, didn’t we?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CQ:</strong> Do you still feel that way, eight years later?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NS:</strong> No, I don’t. Demelza might say she still feels that way, but she’d be lying. Which is pretty par for the course with Demelza. But let’s face facts - if we were “too good” for AAA, we would have left years ago. Both of us are still here. That’s all you need to know about that.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CQ:</strong> What changed your mind?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NS:</strong> The level of competition here. Melza and I, when we came here from Atlanta, we had something to prove. I think a lot of our, I’ll say it, crappy attitudes, were because it really stung to have been let go. At the time, we felt that we hadn’t been given a chance to really show just how good we were in Atlanta. So we came to AAA, and we felt like it was us against the world. We had been burned once, and this time, we weren’t going to leave anything to chance. Since we hadn’t been giveb the opportunities we "deserved" in Atlanta, we were going to <em>make</em> those opportunities happen in AAA.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CQ:</strong> No matter your attitudes, I think the championship reigns you and Demelza had are proof positive that you made the most of your opportunities in AAA.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NS:</strong> We did. Looking back on things now, we were green as could be in Atlanta. Melza and I thought we should have been superstars from the first time we got on TV. But we weren’t good enough to be superstars then. We hadn’t earned it. And we were far too passive, expecting to be given what we felt we were entitled to. In the long run, getting let go was the best thing that could have happen to me and Melza as competitors. It lit a fire under us. Double-edged sword, because it also made us overcompensate for our wounded egos, but there’s no doubt we’re much closer to actually being as good as we - wrongly - felt we already were down in Atlanta.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CQ:</strong> Do you think you’ve reached your peak at this point?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NS:</strong> Absolutely not. I’m a former tag team champion, a former Top Contender’s champion. But I’ve never won the Femme Fatale championship. Until I do that, I can’t even start thinking that I’ve reached my peak. Even when I do, I still think I can keep growing, keep getting better.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CQ:</strong> Break-ups of any kind are messy. Your split with Demelza Wade seems to be no exception. I’d say it’s even messier than average.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NS:</strong> <em>exhales</em> Yeah. It’s...it’s hard. It’s tough. For eight years, we were inseparable. We shared hotel rooms, we shared cars, heck, we even took vacations together. Demelza was my best friend in the world.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CQ:</strong> What happened?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NS:</strong> I...I don’t know. I guess I changed, and she didn’t.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CQ:</strong> How do you mean?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NS:</strong> Like I said, when we were let go in Atlanta, I felt like it was me and Melza against the world. It made me bitter. And it made me willing to excuse Demelza’s behavior. I could always find a way to twist things so no matter what she did, it was justified.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CQ:</strong> It takes two to tango, Nadia, and you weren’t just a bystander. You were an active participant.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NS:</strong> Oh, I don’t deny that. I definitely was. And I’m not saying it was all Demelza. But there are plenty of times when I wasn’t completely in on something, but I went along with Demelza anyway, because she was a sister to me. Family, right or wrong, you know? I’m not saying that excuses some of the stuff I pulled in my eight years here. I made the decision to do those things, and I have to take responsibility for that.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CQ:</strong> Have you apologized to the people you did those things to?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NS:</strong> I...haven’t. In some cases, those people have moved on. Or they’ve hung up their boots for good. I’m not sure if there’s a point in dredging up the past.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CQ:</strong> What about the people who are still here?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NS:</strong> Not...really? I’m not even sure what to say. “Sorry for being a total jackass, I’ll try not to be a jackass to you again?” To be honest, I’m not sure anyone really <em>wants</em> an apology from me.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CQ:</strong> What do you mean?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NS:</strong> I mean...people aren’t goldfish. They remember things. And saying “sorry” doesn’t erase years of antagonism.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CQ:</strong> How would you say your relationships with your fellow competitors have been since you’ve washed your hands of the A-List?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NS:</strong> Chilly. And I don’t mean that as a pun. <em>small chuckle</em> I mean...I can’t blame them, really. Everyone’s being polite enough, I suppose. No one is treating me poorly. But. I mean, for eight years, the only people I really had anything to do with were Demelza and Cat Jemson. We really did think we were “better than” everyone else. So I never really formed bonds with anyone else here. It’s funny. Foxxy’s been here for a few months, and she’s already got more friends than I made in eight years. I’m not blaming anyone here. That’s my own fault, a result of my own choices. In time, I hope things change.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/dobTNEc.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p>

<strong>CQ:</strong> I’ve seen you talking with Katherine Goodlooks backstage.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NS:</strong> <em>smiles</em> Yeah. She’s really reached out to me. Sends me texts on occasion, seeing how I’m doing. I really appreciate it. You know, for years, Demelza and I were totally, 100% convinced, that it was all just an act, that Katherine wasn’t at all who she seemed to be. But she truly is just who she seems to be - a legitimately good person.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CQ:</strong> You’ve been calling yourself “The Showstopper”. Some people say that’s proof that you haven’t really changed at all.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NS:</strong> Heh, maybe I haven’t.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CQ:</strong> You haven’t?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NS:</strong> I mean...look. People can, and do, change. I certainly think I've changed. But I think there are some parts of us that are just a core part of who we are. I’ll admit, I’m a total show-off. I get a thrill from being the center of attention. I dunno, blame it on not getting enough attention as a kid, or whatever. But that’s who I am. Stepping away from Demelza, that’s an opportunity for me not only to be me, but to figure out who “me” is. The A-List...well, that’s “me” being crappy. But it was still me. I am who I am.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CQ:</strong> What about you has changed?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NS:</strong> I think the difference is, I’ve come to understand that you can’t just call yourself “the elite” like we did. You have to go out and actually <em>be</em> the elite, every day. You have to prove it every single time you step between those ropes. And that’s my goal. Every time I step in that ring, I want to wow people. I want people to say, “I didn’t know she could do that.” I want people to say, “I didn’t know <em>anyone</em> could do that!” So that’s my promise. When you buy a ticket, and I’m on the card, I’m going to do everything I can to make people feel like they didn’t just get their money’s worth, but that they got a <em>bargain</em>. Does that make me a showoff? Oh most definitely. But I’d like to think it’s pretty innocuous if it thrills all our Angels while I’m doing it.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CQ:</strong> I certainly don’t see that as a fault. Nadia, I want to thank you for your candor, and for joining me today.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NS:</strong> You’re welcome, Cat. It could just be me enjoying an opportunity to talk about my favorite subject <em>laughs</em>.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CQ:</strong> Angels, if you want to see “The Showstopper” Nadia Snow, and all of the other amazing AAA talent, we hope you’ll join us on September 2, as AAA presents Liberation.</p><p> </p><p>

AAA’s latest signing makes her in-ring debut at Liberation. A three-time, back-to-back-to-back QAW Queen of the Ring tournament winner, a two-time QAW champion, Danielle Sweetheart arrives in AAA with quite the pedigree. Ariel Breaks has a tough hill to climb here, no doubt. But a victory over such a decorated competitor would completely change the conversation about Ariel Breaks, and could propel her to an entirely new level in AAA.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The tourney to crown new AAA tag team champions kicks off with one of the most exciting teams in AAA, the Princess & the Punk, taking on the powerhouses of Glorious Domination. Both teams are young and hungry, and both teams understand just how much their careers would change if they won the tournament. Will the pure power of Glorious Domination rule the day? Or will the fire and energy of the Princess & the Punk propel them into the second round?</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Amber Allen vs. Laura Flame</strong></div></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

One month ago, at Girls Night Out, Laura Flame asked for a challenge. At Heatwave, she got what she asked for and more when the Ultimate Competitor, Amber Allen, responded to Flame’s challenge. Amber Allen has been winning matches in ten minutes or less, her technical wizardry tying her opponents into knots, and her beautiful Northern Lights suplex adding an exclamation point to her statement victories. An Allen victory against one of AAA’s hottest young competitors would continue to build the argument that Allen should be in title contention sooner than later. For her part, Flame seemed downright excited that Allen answered her challenge, no doubt believing - and rightfully so - that a win over Allen would be a signature victory.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>AAA Tag Team Tournament - First Round Match</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>

The second of the first round matches in the AAA tag team championship tourney features four veterans, three of whom are the most decorated tag competitors in AAA history. The Delicate Flowers are four time tag team champions, and a fifth title reign would give the Delicate Flowers sole claim as </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>the</em></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> most decorated tag team in the 20 years of AAA’s existence. Should Katherine Goodlooks and Steffi Chee win this tournament, Katherine Goodlooks would become the first woman to be a five-time AAA tag champion, as she is a former four-time tag champion as part of Goodlookin’ Bunny. Steffi Chee’s won European gold, and would love to add an AAA tag team championship run to her already impressive resume.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>AAA Top Contender’s Championship Match</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/ETEkY6f.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/Ij4JV2X.jpg</span><div style="margin-left:25px;"> vs. </div><span>http://i.imgur.com/dcnOexP.jpg</span><div style="margin-left:25px;"> vs. </div><span>http://i.imgur.com/gVkOI5G.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Devil’s Daughter vs. Talia Quinzel vs. Foxxy LaRue (champion)</strong></div></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Bad blood and worse intentions are the name of the game in what will no doubt be an emotionally charged match for AAA gold. Devil’s Daughter, guided by her unnerving “mother” Lilith, has designs on Foxxy’s championship. Lilith has claimed securing the title is the first step in her plan to corrupt AAA from within. Talia Quinzel lost the Top Contender’s title to Foxxy LaRue on Foxxy’s first day in AAA. More devastatingly, Quinzel also lost months of time to a quad tear she sustained in that loss. Since her return at Girls Night Out, Quinzel has made clear that revenge is at the forefront of her mind. For her part, Foxxy LaRue has been backed into a corner by DD and Quinzel, and Foxxy’s never been shy about a fight. Throw in the potential of involvement from Ellie May Walton or Selina Svelte, and this one could become an all-out war.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Ten Woman Battle Royale for the #1 Contendership</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/5Auj7Hh.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/F4Wr0uD.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/57sF3YA.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/AWOWtpe.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/VcZ3dx5.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/p39q1H6.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/3vdoMpU.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/PVM1Kw9.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/Y4lKwTx.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/GM8hqrJ.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Participants: Jaime Quine/Paige Croft/Tracey Brendon/Nadia Snow/Demelza Wade/Suzanne Brazzle/Selina Svelte/Wendy Anderson/Bobbie McGee/Elsa Calvo</strong></div></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

In a rare moment of agreement, Commissioner Persephone Coombs and General Manager Cat Jemson have decided the next #1 Contender to Steph Blake’s Femme Fatale championship will be the winner of a ten-woman, over the top rope battle royale at Liberation. Jaime Quine’s made her intention to challenge Blake clear. Paige Croft would love another shot at the title she’s been screwed out of twice. Winning the #1 Contendership would be another tally in Demelza Wade and Nadia Snow’s battle of one upmanship. Suzanne Brazzle’s been to the top of the mountain before, and no doubt wants to return. A Selina Svelte victory - and a Talia Quinzel victory - could result in the Uprising having two singles titles between them. Wendy Anderson and Bobbie McGee can work together as a unit, a major advantage in a battle royale. And newcomer Elsa Calvo could become an overnight sensation with an unexpected victory. Battle royales are, by their very nature, unpredictable. With the right timing and a little bit of luck, any woman can win...but only one can. Who will be the next woman to try to usurp the reign of the Queen of Mean? We’ll find out at Liberation.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Bonus Questions</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

1. For one point each:</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

* Who are the final four women in the battle royale?</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

* Who will get the most eliminations?</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

2. AAA will introduce a new signing (the last for a while, the roster’s getting bloated). Who will it be?</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

3. Danielle Sweetheart’s finisher is, yep, you guessed it, ANOTHER FRIGGIN’ SUPERKICK. One point for suggesting another move as Sweetheart’s finisher. If I choose your suggestion, you’ll get another point.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Tiebreaker</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

What will be the score for this show? The last show, Heatwave, scored a 59.</div><p>

</div></p><p> </p><p>

Honestly, the stuff you're doing with Hollyweird, the behind the scenes interview stuff? That's some of my very favorite stuff on this board. <p>Ariel Breaks vs. <strong>Danielle Sweetheart</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Princess & the Punk (Christy Higgins & Simony Sentinel) w/ Joanna Silver</strong> vs. Glorious Domination (Glorious Gloria & Juliette King)</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Amber Allen</strong> vs. Laura Flame</p><p>

Makes sense to protect Allen's record for the time being.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Delicate Flowers (Kate Lilly & Debbie Rose)</strong> vs. Katherine Goodlooks & Steffi Chee</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Devil’s Daughter</strong> vs. Talia Quinzel vs. Foxxy LaRue (champion)</p><p>

Talia and Foxxy can keep their issue going without the title, so let's presume they will.</p><p> </p><p>

Ten Woman Battle Royale for the #1 Contendership</p><p>

Participants: Jaime Quine/Paige Croft/Tracey Brendon/<strong>Nadia Snow</strong>/Demelza Wade/Suzanne Brazzle/Selina Svelte/Wendy Anderson/Bobbie McGee/Elsa Calvo</p><p> </p><p>

I don't think it'll be Jamie and I don't think it'll be Paige. Between the other two babyfaces with a realistic chance, I think Nadia is a better bet than Brazzle. Maybe I just got worked by the interview though.</p><p> </p><p>

Bonus Questions</p><p>

1. For one point each:</p><p>

* Who are the final four women in the battle royale? <strong>Nadia, Demelza, Brendon and Brazzle</strong></p><p>

* Who will get the most eliminations? <strong>Jamie can have most eliminations to make up for not winning.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

2. AAA will introduce a new signing (the last for a while, the roster’s getting bloated). Who will it be? <strong>I predicted Tiffany Jade last time, let's go with that again.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

3. Danielle Sweetheart’s finisher is, yep, you guessed it, ANOTHER FRIGGIN’ SUPERKICK. One point for suggesting another move as Sweetheart’s finisher. If I choose your suggestion, you’ll get another point. <strong>Sweetheart's stats say she's more of a brawler, so some kind of strike makes sense. Just not a kick. How about the running knee Rocky Romero uses?</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Tiebreaker</p><p> </p><p>

What will be the score for this show? The last show, Heatwave, scored a 59. <strong>Battle royals tend to go okay, I'll say 64.</strong></p>

Elsa Cavo</p><p> </p><p>

2. AAA will introduce a new signing (the last for a while, the roster’s getting bloated). Who will it be?</p><p>

Kinuye Mushashibo</p><p> </p><p>

3. Danielle Sweetheart’s finisher is, yep, you guessed it, ANOTHER FRIGGIN’ SUPERKICK. One point for suggesting another move as Sweetheart’s finisher. If I choose your suggestion, you’ll get another point.</p><p>

How about the [standing] double foot stomp?</p><p>

What will be the score for this show? Even with the talent in it, the Battle Royale will drag down the card a bit. The show will score <strong>55.</strong></p>
