The group make their way down to the ring, but this isn't your dominant KLiQ of old.....the KLiQ is very much damaged. The WWF Champion, Shawn Michaels is still suffering from the effects of the Tombstone received at the hand of the Undertaker last week....(as well as the Chokeslam on the entrance way the week before).....Hall and Nash have been jumped and assaulted by Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Loose Cannon, Brian Pillman for a number of weeks now.....and are both walking with a pronounced limp tonight, after their knees were introduced to a car door last week.....then there's Sean Waltman, the man Austin and Pillman essentially kidnapped last week.....and God knows what they did to him, but he looks beat up, fed up....and traumatised....in fact the only one who's not overly banged up is Justin Credible. Vince asks Shawn how he's doing after last week....but Shawn says he's not doing well....he says they are just a week away from the Royal Rumble, where he has to defend the WWF Championship against the Undertaker.....and not only did the Deadman damn near break Shawn's neck last week....he nearly broke his back the week before, Choke-slamming him onto the steel entrance ramp....but that's not what hurt the most..... Raven is unhappy that he has been unable to release the monster from inside Dude Love, and tonight he has ordered the total destruction of Mysterio and Snow, in the hope that it lights a spark of violence inside the Dude. Jim Ross informs us that Mysterio will be putting the Light Heavyweight Championship on the line at the Royal Rumble....against none other than one of his opponents tonight, the Fallen Angel, Christopher Daniels....which might also explain Raven's desire for the destruction of the little luchador. It appears however that the Shepherd of the Flock is still not happy with the levels of suffering being delivered tonight, because Al Snow and Rey Mysterio are certainly cooperating better than Daniels and the Dude....in fact the Dude out and out physically stops the Fallen Angel from crossing the line on a number of occasions.....in fact, so disappointed is Raven, that he feels the need to interject himself into the match, sliding into the ring and dropping Mysterio with the Evenflow, whilst the official is busy with an arguing Dude Love and Christopher Daniels. Daniels sees the assist however and is quick to capitalise on it, connecting with a double jump moonsault from the top rope onto the prone Mysterio, giving him the one, the two, the three.....and the momentum heading into Sunday nights Light Heavyweight Championship bout. Winner(s): Dude Love and Christopher Daniels. Raven smiles, believing that FINALLY the Dude is coming around to his way of thinking, but his happiness is short lived, because Love simply tosses the weapon to the outside, telling his master that they don't need to do that, Snow and Mysterio have been beaten enough. Raven snarls at The Dude that there is no such thing as "enough" when it comes to pain and suffering......and Dude Loves repeated refusal to surrender to the dark side.....is becoming tiresome...... ......Raven shoves the Dude abruptly out of the way and exits the ring, heading for the back, leaving Snow and Mysterio to recover enough, that the Dude is able to help the pair back to their feet....much to the delight of Al Snow. Obviously this means that the match is nowhere near the standard that you would usually expect from these four.....but it does mean that the KLiQ have a valid reason to take the loss, after Austin drops Waltman with the Stone Cold Stunner for the three. Rude says this is clearly a psychological ploy on behalf of the Flock.....because come the Royal Rumble, sending Austin and/or Pillman over the top and to the floor is enough to guarantee a future World Championship opportunity. Unfortunately it doesn't quite go according to plan.....because as Doink and DeMott try to launch their opponents over the top, Stone Cold and The Loose Cannon reverse the momentum.....and it's the two Flock members that go flying over the top and to the floor. Big Sexy is accompanied to ringside by the WWF Champion Shawn Michaels....but the Heartbreak Kid spends a good portion of the match sat on the commentary table instead of in his team mates corner. Jim Ross remarks that Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels are expecting an awful lot of Kevin Nash over the next six days.....first tonight, competing against the Undertaker with a bum leg is never going to be easy.....before going on to the Royal Rumble, where Nash has a whole laundry list of tasks to accomplish.....Michaels however tells Ross that that's why Kevin is paid the big money........not as big as the Heartbreak Kid obviously......but still bigger than most. As for the match itself, it was good.....not amazing, because Nash had to try and sell the knee....but Big Sexy certainly had more offence here than Hall and Waltman managed earlier against Austin and Pillman......and at one point, it even looked as though he was going to be in with a chance of winning......a chance that disappeared thanks to his own Stable Mate, Shawn Michaels.....because out of nowhere, Michaels decided to hit the ring with a Steel Chair....which he smashes so hard over the head of the Deadman that it leaves an imprint of the Undertakers skull dented into the metal.....obviously, it also forces the official to call for the bell, and declare the Undertaker the victor. Again Nash spins the Heartbreak Kid around to face him, telling him that he could have finished this match without his interference.....Shawn is not listening however....and instead of shrugging Nash off, he physically shoves him away this time....before returning his assault to his bloody and helpless Royal Rumble opponent...... ....one more time Nash spins Michaels around to face him....but this time the Heartbreak Kid slaps Big Sexy right in the mouth....telling him that he doesn't have to listen to Nash.....in fact he stopped having to listen to Kevin Nash right around the same time that Big Sexy signed that lucrative new contract.....the contract that for all intents and purposes...... "........makes you my big seven foot b*tch.......you'll do what I say, when I say it.....you'll beat who I say.....win when I say.............and more importantly......lose when I say.......or Vince McMahon will fire your ass......now get out of MY face......MY ring............and MY spotlight.........NOW........" Michaels turns his attention back to the Undertaker........while Nash stands with a look of pure fury on his face.....but instead of turning and leaving Shawn's ring.....he tosses back his hair.....and drops the straps on his singlet.......and with the crowd roaring in approval, looks as though he is seriously considering putting an end to Shawn Michaels once and for all.......which is when the Undertaker abruptly sits up....and grasps the World Wrestling Federation Champion by the throat...... ......Michaels screams at Nash to help him, but Big Sexy simply smirks and hops out of the ring, telling the Heartbreak Kid that the spotlight is all his...... .......as the bloody Undertaker Chokeslams his Royal Rumble opponent straight to hell, just as Nash makes it to the entrance way.....and the show comes to a close, with the now familiar sight of the Undertaker holding high the World Wrestling Federation Championship......while Kevin Nash looks on with that Kevin Nash smirk fully apparent on his face Rating: A* Final Rating: B+ </div></blockquote> </div>

We are right around the corner from the 1997 Royal Rumble.....where the road to Wrestlemania will officially begin.....and it's pretty quiet around here right now......Jim Ross signed a three year contract extension....which means the 1996 announcer of the year is staying right where he belongs.....while Billy Gunn's status is still up in the air......although while he hasn't officially made his decision yet, he has made it pretty clear that he's not planning on going anywhere....of course the fact that I've had to offer him about ten grand more than I wanted to might have something to do with that. Rick Rude and The Undertaker have been getting on like a house on fire in the back, and have really made the locker room a fun place to be......while Kokina turned up to Raw with enough pizza to feed the whole of Italy.......of course they may have just all been for him, but he was good enough to share the leaning tower of pizza with the rest of the boys. WCW (who I'm no longer controlling for what it's worth) debuted a new event this week.....WCW Pain Barrier.....it was pretty average, but at least the WCW Title was defended in the main event instead of further down the card.....I guess that's what happens when Hulk Hogan has got the belt......
