<div style="text-align:center;"> http://i.imgur.com/GJwrLWt.jpg Week 1, November 1996 Arrowhead Pond ATT: 17,774 TV: 18.46 <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43289" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div> The show this week opens up with a recap of the events that closed LAST weeks show....where Gorilla Monsoon announced that should the team of Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Steve Austin and Brian Pillman defeat the KLiQ team of Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Sean Waltman at the Survivor Series, then the KLiQ as a unit will be no more........along with Shawn Michaels blockbuster announcement that should the KLiQ be the victorious team, then their four opponents will no longer be eligible to Challenge for ANY title held by the KLiQ.....including any FUTURE Championships that they should win.....before we go down to ringside, where Vince McMahon, Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross welcome us to the show. They discuss the ramifications of the Elimination clash, before McMahon mentions that while The KLiQ may be gone come Survivor Series, Jerry Lawler may find himself gone also.....at least from this Commentary table.....but Lawler tells McMahon not to worry.....the only thing that will be gone, is Justin Credible ugly face.....because when the King beats him, he'll be back to wearing that gaudy yellow jock strap on his head..... ....::::!!!!GLASS SHATTERS!!!!::::.... <img alt="LjBLTcA.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/LjBLTcA.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="SC2jCnQ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/SC2jCnQ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> .......they are interrupted however by the sound of breaking glass.....and the arrival of now former WWF Tag Team Champions, Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Loose Cannon Brian Pillman......and they don't look happy at all. The two men stride down the aisle with purpose, before picking up a microphone each and getting into the ring. They get somewhat of a mixed reaction, which doesn't go down well with Pillman, who tells the unwashed masses in attendance to save their cheers for someone that wants them "......because if I wanted a braying sea of foul smelling creatures clapping for me, I'd go down to the zoo and visit the sea lions.....where I'd probably get a more intelligent conversation than you morons could offer me....." Now the reaction is less mixed and the boo's ring out through the arena as Austin takes the stick...... .....he starts off by stating that he's not happy about being forced to team with Bret and Owen Hart......and he's even less happy to hear that should he lose the match at the Survivor Series, he potentially loses the opportunity to Challenge for the WWF Championship..... "......not that Stone Cold Steve Austin couldn't whip all the KLiQ's ass with one hand tied behind his back.....especially that mealy-mouthed excuse for a Champion, the Boy Toy Shawn Michaels.....and Shawn, after that stunt you pulled at In Your House.....you know as well as I do, that somewhere down the road, your ass belongs to Stone Cold......but now, before I get the chance to take that WWF Title from around your waist, I've got to step in this ring with a man that dislikes me, ALMOST as much as I dislike him.....and trust that Bret Hart ain't gonna try and screw Stone Cold over? Bret tells Austin that they are a fine pair to talk about trust......Steve Austin is the biggest rattlesnake in the WWF, and Brian Pillman already turned his back on the family that bought him into the business once......so if anyone has a right to be untrusting.....it's the Hart Foundation. Austin tells Bret Hart that if there's one thing he can trust, that's the fact that if either Bret or Owen costs him a shot at the World Wrestling Federation Championship.....then Stone Cold Steve Austin will personally tear him a new one. Sunny is stood behind Michaels massaging his shoulders while the boys sit eating popcorn and laughing. The action in the ring comes to a halt once they realise they have an audience.....but HBK tells them not to stop ".....this is the best thing I've watched in weeks...." He tosses a piece of pop corn into his mouth before telling the four men in the ring that at this rate, they won't even make it to Survivor Series without killing each other.......that's if they even make it through tonight.....because tonight, the KLiQ are going to show them what a real unit looks like.....because Shawn Michaels and his brother from another mother Kevin Nash are gonna ride again.....and make it one win for the good guys....when they face Bret Hart and Steve Austin "....keep up the arguing boys....." The KLiQ continue laughing and throwing popcorn at the camera lens as the screen goes black and Bret and Austin stand eyeing each other suspiciously. Mysterio has come on in leaps and bounds since winning the Championship, and no one is taking him lightly any more. Waltman comes out with back up for this one, with Justin Credible by his side.....but he isn't able to get up to any of the usual KLiQ shenanigans, because the second he tries to interfere in the match, Jerry Lawler takes off the headset and positions himself ringside in Mysterio's corner. After a very good match however, neither Lawler or Credible play a part in the ending of this......well they do.....just not directly.....because after spending most of the match circling each other on the outside and trading insults, The King and Credible finally come to blows on the outside.....which predictably takes the officials attention away from the match..... <img alt="LjBLTcA.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/LjBLTcA.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> ......which is when Steve Austin comes flying down the aisle and into the ring. He spins Waltman around, kicks him in the gut.....then drops him with the Stone Cold Stunner. Waltman is down and out and Austin flips him a set of double birds before rolling back to the outside. Mysterio heads up top.....and Credible looks as though he's about to try and knock his legs out from under him, before the King plants a big right hand on him.....leaving Rey free to hit a diving splash for the three count and the win. It's not Mankind doing the watching however....its Al Snow.....Al Snow and Head actually, who is placed beside him facing the screen, the recipient of all Al's thoughts.....as Al reaches forward and pauses the video, pointing at the figure about to jump from the roof of their house..... ".........there.....look.......no, look properly.....(Al picks Head up and holds her right in front of the screen).....do you see it now?.......not even slightly?.......you don't see any resemblance at all?.......what is wrong with you, it's uncanny........well personally I think we need to get your eyes checked, because that is obviously.........." .....before Snow gets to finish that sentence however a hairy arm reaches over his shoulder and turns the monitor off with a leather clad finger..... <img alt="P4qW3WS.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/P4qW3WS.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="oJqc7jC.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/oJqc7jC.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="NqqfCgY.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/NqqfCgY.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> ".....that's obviously nothing more than a stupid kid......and YOU shouldn't be watching that......" Mankind is stood behind Snow, but he's not alone for long.....as Raven and Bill DeMott walk into shot seconds later. Raven tells Snow to stop playing with that stupid head and get down to the ring.....because he's got a match. Snow looks confused, asking against who? "......a young Team who have bought into the fallacies and fabrications of broken down men.....believing the lies that their fragile frames are built to withstand the trials and tribulations of battle, simply because they have found success against some washed up has-beens.....BECAUSE of two washed up has-beens....." Snow interrupts Raven, asking him if he means the Hardy Boys? Because from what Al has seen, they've been doing pretty well for themselves recently.....Raven laughs at this, saying that they have too easily believed the lies fed to them by the Legion of Doom that they can hang with monsters..... ".....but I don't blame them.....we all eat lies when our hearts are hungry.....tonight I want you to show them that their hopes and dreams are really nothing more than despair and nightmares......I want you and Bill DeMott to make them suffer.....I want them to feel my pain......I want you to show them what a monster can do.....go....." Snow looks at Raven, then at DeMott, before shaking his head and turning to walk out of the room, before stopping and telling Raven not everyone needs to wallow in the darkness like him......some people just want to stand in the light. Snow looks over at Mankind, saying that some people just want to have fun.....before asking him..... "......who's Dude Love?....." .....I don't know how it's possible to look sheepish while wearing a leather mask, but Mankind somehow manages it.....before snapping out of it and telling Snow to just go and make the Hardy's suffer.....before I have to do it for you. Neither Al Snow or Bill DeMott are exactly known for their mental stability. Since revealing his allegiance to Raven back at In Your House, DeMott no longer feels the need to play the meek helpless simpleton that lulled Al Snow into a false pretence.....instead he can let his true persona out.....a big, strong bull with a penchant for hurting people and a fragile grip on reality. He takes great pleasure in brutalising the two Hardy's. Al Snow on the other hand, while clearly eager to pick up the victory, is far more respectful to his younger opponents, much to the chagrin of his partner. This was a pretty good match and either team could have picked up the victory on numerous occasions....in the end however....it was Raven's instructions that bought this match to a close.....because with his Masters words echoing in his ears, DeMott drops to the outside to collect a steel chair which he brings back into the ring. He raises the weapon to swing it, but before he can connect Al Snow snatches it from his hands. An argument ensues with Snow telling DeMott that they don't need to stoop so low to win the match......DeMott disagrees, but cant do much about it when Snow rolls to the outside, taking the chair with him. Bill shakes his head in disgust, before turning back to his opponents.....where Matt Hardy is waiting with a Twist of Fate....which is enough to give the Hardys the three count, just before Snow can re-enter the ring to break up the pinfall. He begins shoving Al, who reiterates his point that they didn't need chairs to win.....which is when DeMott punches him in the face. Both Hardy's drop to the floor.....only to be dragged by their hair down the aisle and tossed into the ring. Snow tries to talk the pair out of inflicting anymore punishment, but Raven simply unfolds both steel chairs.....sitting on one.....then ordering Snow to sit on the other to watch the carnage. Al is reluctant, but he has no choice, since losing his freedom to Raven at In Your House.....and he finally sits down beside the Shepherd of The Flock.....while Mankind and DeMott dismantle the two youngsters in front of him...... .......!!!UHHHHHH.....WHAT A RUSHHH!!!....... <img alt="Y4PwSFN.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Y4PwSFN.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="JPWbAH1.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/JPWbAH1.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> ........it looks as though the Legion of Doom have seen enough of the punishment that their protégés are receiving.....and the Flock scatter as they burst into the ring....spiked shoulder pads and all......the Flock scatter.....but Raven does not.....as he remains sat unmoved on the steel chair. Hawk and Animal surround him and he simply stands with a smile on his face, before outstretching his arms and telling the Legion of Doom that ".....they wanted monsters......I gave them monsters......" then slowly turns and rolls out of the ring, while Animal and Hawk check on the Hardy's. Sid says that where they go from here....is onwards to next week....and onwards to the Survivor Series ".....because next week.....it's gonna be me and you Steiner......and while the Intercontinental title isn't on the line.....it's not gonna stop me from kicking your ass little man.....and then in three weeks time.....at the Survivor Series......WE are going to take the Corporation out for good......" Hendrix says that's all and well, and he hates to the the bearer of bad news.....but the Survivor Series matches are four on four.....and you seem to be a man short..... It's crowded at ringside too.....because both Owen Hart and Brian Pillman are out there to support their respective partners.....while Hall, Waltman, Credible and Sunny are on the outside for the KLiQ....and while two weeks ago you would be questioning Michaels and Nash's ability to operate as a team....they are certainly the more cohesive unit tonight.....especially compared to Steve Austin....who looks as though he would rather take all the punishment for the team, rather than have to admit that he needs to Tag out to the Hitman. Eventually however, Hart gives him little choice.....because after playing the face (or rather heel in Austin's case) in peril for sometime....Bret finally makes the blind tag, slapping Stone Cold on the back to get into the action..... .....and that's where it goes wrong.....because that's when the match breaks down....and an already p####d off Austin eventually gets back into the mix as all four men go at it......still seething from Austin's interference costing him the Light Heavyweight Championship earlier in the evening however means that Sean Waltman eventually reaches into the ring to trip Stone Cold.....who loses his footing and collides with the Hitman. Bret believing it was intentional shoves Austin hard in the chest.....which he answers with a Stone Cold Stunner to his own partner. Bret goes down, just as Nash sends Austin out of the ring, while Michaels makes an easy cover......and three seconds later the KLiQ are victorious. Im not entirely sure what WCW are trying to do......because fresh off his Title making match of the year contender at Halloween Havoc, WCW Champion Bam Bam Bigelow is still finding himself in the semi-main event of Nitro.....and is still inexplicably teaming with Vader regularly....I'm not sure if they are trying to get some of Vaders popularity to run off on Bam Bam.....but if that's the case then make Vader your Champion to begin with......they teamed up again this week in a poor showing to defeat Bunkhouse Buck and Dick Slater.....while the Main Event saw Arn Anderson defeat Lex Luger, in a match that wasn't much better......which is why we demolished them again in the ratings, 18.46-15.53. I don't know if they've given winning the ratings war up, but they have begun to put far better shows on their Saturday Night programme than anything they put out on a Monday....just this week they put a Pay Per View calibre main event on.....as Hulk Hogan teamed up with Ric Flair.....for what I think is the first time ever......to defeat Bigelow and Vader. I know I said the Champion is wasted in all this Tag Team action, but seeing Hogan and Flair team up is a pretty big deal. Young Jesse James picked up an injury in his match against Bart Gunn....a depressed maxillary fracture in his neck.....ironic really considering Bart spent a few months out with the storyline neck injury from Billy Gunns steel chair Famouser. No one was to blame, just one of those freak accidents......but it does mean that James will miss Survivor Series, because he's going to be out around six weeks. It's a big blow to the youngster to be missing one of the big four shows.....it's a bigger blow to me however.....because now I need to find another body for the Survivor Series match, on top of the mystery opponent that's going to be revealed on Raw. Jerry Lawler has obviously seen something he likes in Rocky Maivia, because he's taken the kid under his wing as a protege of sorts......even spending this week giving Maivia tips on how to work as a heel.....that's great Jerry, but Maivia is a face right now.....any face tips for him? Because the KLiQ are ready.....and here they are.....walking down the aisle before the commentators even have chance to welcome us to the show. They strut around ringside, trading insults with Jerry "The King" Lawler, before finally entering the squared circle, microphones in hand. This is a far more united KLiQ than we have seen in the weeks leading up to tonight.....Shawn Michaels reveal that he was implementing the no title shot rule to their opponents should the KLiQ win at Survivor Series, seem to have gone a long way towards mending bridges....along with Michaels and Nash's successful outing as a team last week, means the group is looking pretty happy. The WWF Champion brings the microphone to his mouth and prepares to speak.....but stops himself, shaking his head, before dramatically passing the microphone to Kevin Nash.....who over-emphasises a look of shock, before laughing and taking the stick. Nash says it's funny.....three weeks ago the easy money was on the KLiQ coming out here....having a little falling out....seeing tempers flare....maybe a shove here.....a push there......but here we are......and when the going gets tough, the KLiQ gets tougher. Nash says instead of him and Shawn out here at each other's throats.....it's their opponents that just can't get along..... ".....and guess what boys.....you keep fighting amongst yourselves....because when you've done laying each other out, we'll be there to pick up the pieces......just like we'll be there to pick up OUR Championship Belts after the match......oh......and those are Championship Belts that you shmucks......won't be having a shot at again....." The KLiQ find that hilarious.....apart from Sean Waltman....who says that HE would be standing here with a Championship belt too right now, if it wasn't for Stone Cold Steve Austin sticking his big bald head where it didn't belong.....he tells Austin that come Survivor Series, he's going to make sure that it's HIM that eliminates Stone Cold. Justin Credible even gets in on the action, saying that while Waltman is busy eliminating Austin from the Survivor Series match....he's going to be eliminating Jerry Lawler from the Raw announce Table. Lawler quips on commentary however that the only think that will be eliminated is the rodent type features of Credible, when he does the world a favour and puts that jockstrap back over his ugly mug. Finally Michaels (over) graciously takes the microphone, before telling the crowd to take a good look at the sight before them.....the Heartbreak Kid, your WWF Champion.....Big Sexy Kevin Nash and the Bad Guy, Scott Hall....YOUR WWF Tag Team Champions......and that's not gonna change now.....and it's certainly not going to change after the Survivor Series..... "......and as for you Mr. Michaels.....you may well feel that you have tipped the scales in your favour.....and yes, should the KLiQ be victorious at Survivor Series, The Harts, Mr. Austin and Mr. Pillman will NOT be eligible to challenge for any Championship held by you "gentlemen"....and I use that term loosely....but Survivor Series is still two weeks away......and YOU Shawn Michaels might not even be the WWF Champion by then......" Monsoon says that he may have had some fine print added to his contract.....but that doesn't change the terms and conditions that come with holding gold here in the WWF......and those terms clearly state that ALL Championships must be defended within a thirty day window......and since the Title is NOT on the line at the Survivor Series....it's going to be on the line tonight.....against the man who defeated you not so long ago on Monday Night Raw......and that man.....is the Loose Cannon, Brian Pillman.....good luck. Psycho Sid, for all of his shortcomings, is never not over....and since turning his allegiances towards the power of money and the Million Dollar Corporation, the fans have certainly not been shy about letting Rich Steiner know how they feel about him. The Intercontinental Championship wasn't on the line tonight....but as Brian Pillman just found out, beating a Champion in a non-title match gives you a pretty good chance of getting a shot at the gold somewhere down the line...couple that with Sid's ongoing issues with the Corporation and it makes for a pretty fired up Psycho Sid. Steiner on the other hand clearly feels like he has nothing to gain here.....a fact that he demonstrates come the end of the march.....when DiBiase yanks his client free of a Sid Powerbomb attempt, and Steiner takes a walk up the aisle way, forcing the official to count him out and award the match to Sid. The Hardy's have improved tremendously in the last year....and they really do hold their own against the combination of Raven and Mankind.....and could possibly have picked up the win a number of times, had the Flock not interjected with the distraction on the outside.....(because even the Legion of Doom can't keep the five....well four really, Snow doesn't play a part....men occupied at the same time).....and it's during one of these distractions that the Hardy's lose the match.....because as Jeff comes flying off the top rope with a Swanton Bomb to Mankind, Raven places a steel chair across the chest of his team mate.....and Hardy hits hard, hurting both his opponent and himself. McMahon questions why Raven wouldn't just pull Mankind out of harms way, instead of causing him even more damage with the steel chair, but Lawler says that Raven is only interested in inflicting pain, not preventing it.....and he doesn't care who is on the receiving end. Raven drags Hardy to his feel, who is clearly favouring his back....then instantly drops him with the Evenflow DDT....and three seconds later, with Mankind still feeling the effects of the Swanton Bomb.....the Flock had the victory. Candido has had one eye on the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship as of late.....but the Survivor Series isn't your average Pay Per View.....and with this being the only event of this calendar year without a single title on the line, a spot on one in one of the elimination matches was the only way that Candido was going to find himself on the card. These two have yet to meet here in the WWF, so no one really knew what to expect.....what they got however was a decent match.....and even with the number of bodies at ringside, it was a relatively clean match....eventually however Goldust proved to be the better man on the night, managing to pick up the victory with the Curtain Call. Another Monday night.....another record high rating for Raw with a 18.68 to Nitro's 15.73.....a better rating for them, but still nowhere near our numbers.....and again the WCW Champion was involved in a Tag Team match.....this week he and Vader went over on Sting and the Giant.....decent match, but nothing spectacular.....certainly not the main event you want to give when you're trying to expand internationally, because this weeks show came all the way from Glasgow, Scotland....I'm sure the Scot's were hoping for something bigger than that. The former Alundra Blayze, currently working as Madusa in WCW's contract was up this week.....and obviously there was no offer of a contract from us.....Vince wouldn't even entertain the thought after she jumped ship with our WWF Women's Title and dropped it in the trash live on Nitro.....how did that work out for you Alundra? WCW don't even have a Women's division anymore since you jumped....I mean neither do we, but that's mainly Blayze's fault.....she really soured Vince on Women's Wrestling, to the point that he has no interest in promoting it. No Contest - It doesn't feel right for either guy to win this match. Neither can afford to eat a loss this close to Survivor Series.

Rich Steiner - But like everyone else, I'm still saying it'll be by DQ, as Scott returns to join Sid's Survivor Series team by attacking his brudder.

Goldust - Goldust winning here makes him look like a very formidable partner, which will help the psychology of the match if he gets taken out first.

Rey Mysterio - Just don't see him dropping the belt at random, it'll be someone worth their salt who takes it from him.

LoD/Hardys - This probaby isn't the four man team who will be winning the match at Survivor Series.

We are just six days away from one of the biggest events of the year......with one of the biggest match stipulations of the year.....but the biggest question tonight, is whether or not the Hitman will accept the Challenge of the Big Red Monster Kane, it what would be a blockbuster Main Event.......

.......and it doesn't look like we are going to have to wait too long to find out......because the Hitman is here.....and so is his brother, Owen Hart. The pair don't waste any time getting into the ring, clearly Bret has something to say......he begins by telling the crowd that he's out here for two reasons tonight......and the first reason is to address the challenge laid out by Jim Cornette last week, to face his Big Red Monster Kane tonight......Bret says that he wants to make something perfectly clear.....he's never backed away from a challenge in his life.....and he's not going to start now......he knows a thing or two about defeating big lumbering giants "....just ask Kevin Nash....." so yes, he will face Kane tonight......which brings him on to reason number two that he's out here......

".....reason number two, is because you're a stupid son of a bitch....."

.....I don't think that was the reason Bret was going to give.....but Steve Austin isn't giving him a chance to speak......

".....you're gonna come out here, six days before I have to rely on your ass not to get eliminated at the Survivor Series......and you're gonna get your little pansy ass in a match with that seven foot jackass Kane? Son, I don't know what you THINK you're doing.....but what you're ACTUALLY doing, is stepping in this ring with someone that liable to snap you in half......break your back.....and take you OUT of the match on Sunday......which means what you're ALSO doing, is p#####g me off....."

Austin says he doesn't trust Bret Hart as far as he can throw him.....and this is exactly why......because if he's not out here sabotaging Brian Pillman's shot at the WWF Championship, he's out here putting himself at risk of injury.....and sabotaging Steve Austin's chance at getting his own shot at the gold......

Bret cuts Austin off there.....telling him that if he'd let him finish, instead of running his mouth like he always does, he might have found out that reason number two was about exactly that.....trust.....Bret tells Austin that it's no secret that Bret Hart doesn't like Stone Cold Steve Austin.....he doesn't like him as a person.....he doesn't like his attitude.....and he doesn't like what he represents.....and he trusts Austin even less than he'd trust a Rattlesnake.....but they need to work together on Sunday if they ever want the opportunity to take that WWF Championship away from the KLiQ.....and so tonight they are going to learn to trust each other......when Brian Pillman and Steve Austin, join Owen Hart in accompanying him to ringside......where Bret will trust them to watch his brothers back......and HIS, should the KLiQ decide to make an appearance......

"......because if I lose the opportunity to Challenge for the World Title......and if me and Owen lose the opportunity to Challenge for the World Tag Team Titles......then there's no reason for me to be here.....so I have no choice but to work WITH you.....to take down the KLiQ....."

Austin and Pillman aren't impressed with that.....but even they see the logic in the statement.....but Austin warns Bret that if he does ANYTHING tonight to jeopardise Sunday's match, there really will be no reason for Hart to be here......because Austin will take him out for good.

The Legion of Doom laid down the Challenge last week to the Flock....a four on four Survivor Series elimination match, pitting Hawk, Animal and the Hardy Boys up against any four members of the Flock.....Ravens answer to that this week is to send in Doink, The Fallen Angel and The Dogs of War to face them in a traditional one fall to a finish eight man tag match.

Surprisingly Raven and the rest of the Flock opt to remain backstage for this one.....so it's a surprisingly clean match, with the Hardy's matching agility with Daniels (and Doink to a lesser extent) while Hawk and Animal trade power moves with the Dogs of War.....it's a combination which makes for a pretty entertaining match up, but in the end it's The LoD and the Hardy's that pick up the win.....after Hawk and Animal finish off Doink with the Doomsday Device.

The Legion of Doom and The Hardy's celebrate their victory, Raven walks out onto the entrance ramp, followed by Mankind who looks to still be slightly favouring his ribs following the steel chair Swanton Bomb last week.....Bill DeMott, and Al Snow, who is still sporting a rather fetching deerstalker hat/magnifying glass combination. Hawk takes a microphone and announces that they just destroyed the Flock.....and if this is the best that Raven has to offer, then at the Survivor Series, they're going to destroy him too. Raven simply smirks and shakes his head, telling the group of men in the ring that......

".......you can't destroy me.....no one can destroy me......I destroyed myself a long long time ago, and now I'm immortal.....my innocence was lost when I realised I was no longer scared of the dark, instead I was scared of the darkness inside myself......but my humanity was lost the day I realised that the darkness inside me was nothing to fear......rather something to embrace......to nurture.....and to finally set free..........all these men beside me....(Raven pauses for a moment to look towards Al Snow)....MOST of these men beside me.....have felt my darkness wash over them.....have been baptised in the waters of my despair.....and have emerged re-born in my image......and now they too are on the path to immortality......

......Hardy Boys, if you truly wanted to walk with monsters, you should have walked into the monsters lair......you should have dropped to your knees at the alter of my house and offered your humanity as sacrifice for my teachings.....instead you threw yourselves at the mercy of false idols.....and for that.....at Survivor Series.....you will pay....."

Raven says his team is set.....himself, Mankind, Bill DeMott.....and Al Snow.....against the Hardys and their mentors the Legion of Doom.....

The Light Heavyweights are in action next, as Rey Mysterio puts the gold on the line against relative newcomer to the WWF Brian Christopher.....Christopher is less of a high flyer than the rest of the division......and as Jim Ross points out, bears a striking resemblance to Jerry Lawler....but Lawler dismisses that when it's bought up, simply claiming that the only resemblance between the two, is that they are both extremely handsome.......there's somewhat of a resemblance in their ring work too.....because Christopher works somewhat of a Memphis style of wrestling, with plenty of playing to the crowd, which SHOULD have been somewhat of a clash of styles.....but it wasn't, and the two youngsters had a pretty decent match.....with Mysterio continuing his winning ways with a Hurricanranna pinning combination.

Winner: and Still WWF Light Heavyweight Champion.......Rey Mysterio

It's promo time next.......and the Nation of Domination make their way down in force. They climb into the ring and Faarooq tells the crowd that tonight is the night.....the night the Samoan's rattle that coconut tree, to see who falls out to give them a helping hand......but the fact of the matter, is it doesn't matter which grass skirt wearing savage comes running out from the back, the Nation are going to do what the Nation do best......and that's win.....

".....So Son's of Samoa....bring your sorry asses out here, and let's see what you got......"

And the Son's do indeed come out......and come to a stop at the top of the entrance way. It's Maivia who does the talking as usual, telling Faarooq that he's been running his mouth for too long......running down his heritage.....running down his allegiances.....running down his loyalties......and more importantly, bringing his fathers name into disrepute, by having the audacity to suggest that Rocky Johnson would ever agree with the Nations viewpoint.....

".....my Father is proud of who he is.....where he came from.....and what he represents......but what he doesn't represent.....is YOU......and if you don't believe me.....why don't you ask him yourself......."

......and with that, the man himself walks out from the back to join his son on the entrance ramp. Faarooq has a look of shock on his face.....and the rest of the Nation don't look too pleased either.....but Rocky Johnson is here.....and clearly he's here to join the Sons of Samoa in just six days time, at Sunday night's Survivor Series event.

Johnson takes the microphone.....and it's short and sweet.....he tells Faarooq that everything he ever did in this business.....every win....but more importantly, every loss.....was HIS. He didn't need to come out here and make excuses for his failings.....what he did, was learn from those losses so that he could come back stronger next time......he tells Faarooq that he's nothing more than a cry baby loser, who is using the prejudices that men like Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas fought against to eliminate, as a crutch to explain away his own short comings.....

......he tells Faarooq that Rocky Johnson does NOT represent him.....and Rocky Johnson does NOT represent the Nation of Domination......but he DOES represent Rocky Maivia.....and it would be his honour and his privilege to fight alongside his Son at the Survivor Series.....where the Sons of Samoa and Rocky Johnson.....will kick their ass.

Next up we have two men who shared quite the heated rivalry in the build up to Summerslam back in August, when on that night Goldust was able to come out on the winning end against Chris Jericho. Since that night however, Jericho's stock has risen even higher, seeing the youngster headline his first Pay Per View in September, when he unsuccessfully challenged the Heartbreak Kid for the WWF Championship, in a match that really put him on the map. Goldust on the other hand has done very little of not since that big Summerslam win....and being a member of the winning team in this Survivor Series match could get him back where he wants to be.....in the spotlight.

The Summerslam clash was excellent, and this one didn't disappoint either.......each mans respective team mates accompany them to ringside, meaning we have a lot of bodies on the floor.....it also means that every time the dastardly heel contingent of Billy Gunn, Lance Storm or Mr. Perfect try to interfere, either Marc Mero, Bart Gunn or Chris Candido are there to break it up.....unfortunately, while the men are quick enough to cancel out any attempted interference from the opposition, Sable simply doesn't move fast enough to prevent Marlena from tossing gold dust into the eyes of Jericho (mannnnnn) leaving Lionheart momentarily disorientated, as he blindly backs into the Curtain Call....and another good win for Goldust.

We come back from commercial to find Jerry Lawler in the middle of the ring, with a special edition of the Kings Court set up ready for his guest tonight, Justin Credible. Lawler opens the segment by inviting Credible to be a man instead of a mouse.....and actually walk down that aisle alone, without his little girlfriend Sean Waltman or any of those other little black and white jerks from the KLiQ....and step into this ring, face to face with the King. Surprisingly Credible does just that....cockily strutting down the aisle with a huge smile on his face....a smile so big in fact that Lawler has to ask him to tone it down a little, because "....I can see your whiskers twitching....."

Lawler says that he's not really used to hearing the fans of the WWF chanting his name.....but he is only six days away from hearing just that.....as well as a huge "thank you King" chant, when Lawler puts the runt of the KLiQ away once and for all ".....and you have to put this...(The King pulls out a yellow jockstrap from his jacket pocket)....back over that ugly mug of yours....I was going to get you a nice black and white one to go with your shirt there, but by the time Survivor Series is over and done with, you're not going to have a KLiQ to go back to either...."

Credible snatches the jockstrap from the Kings hand and throws it on the mat, before stamping on it a number of times. He tells Lawler that while he thinks he's a funny guy, it's going to be Justin Credible and the KLiQ that's laughing come Sunday night ".....because when I'm done with you, the only matches you'll be calling, are the cock fighting bouts back in bumblebuck Tennessee.....and when the night is over and done with....and the KLiQ roll into Monday Night Raw victorious.....I've got just the guy to take your place down there at the table.....and BELIEVE me.....it's gonna be an improvement....."

The two men continue trading barbs for a moment, until Lawler finally brings the segment to a close.....and it LOOKS as though these two are going to go their separate ways.....at least until Credible turns and charges at the King, looking for the sneak attack.....unfortunately Jerry Lawler is the master of the sneak attack, and sees it coming a mile off, catching Credible with one of those trademark King right hands. Lawler hooks Credible and looks to be going for his patented Piledriver.....but Credible scurries out of his grip.....out of the ring.....and all the way up the aisle.....opting to save the fight for Sunday.

It's time for a rematch of last weeks match between Psycho Sid and WWF Intercontinental Champion, Rich Steiner. Sid picked up the victory last week in their non-title clash, when Steiner deliberately walked out of the match......Sid will not be looking for a repeat performance of that result this week.....because tonight the Gold IS on the line, but you can't win Championships by count out here in the World Wrestling Federation.....it's pinfall or submission only. McMahon says that Psycho Sid and his team (Ahmed Johnson and The Brithish Bulldog, who accompany Sid to ringside tonight) may still be a man down for Survivor Series, but picking up the win here and taking the Intercontinental Championship away from the Million Dollar Corporation, would certainly give them the psychological advantage....

......unfortunately for Sid, it was the man advantage that came into play here....and the man advantage is with the Million Dollar Corporation....because with Southern Justice there to keep Johnson and Davey Boy occupied, and Ted DiBiase there to keep the official occupied.....that just left everybody's favourite guitar wielding superstar....and no I'm not talking about the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time the Honky Tonk Man......I'm talking about good old Double J, Jeff Jarrett........who climbs into the ring behind Sid, with his favourite acoustic equaliser in hand......before smashing the Guitar across the back of the Psycho ones head. Steiner quickly makes the cover as the official turns around, and despite there being an abundance of wood splintering all over the mat the referee still makes the count, one, two, three.

DiBiase quickly reclaims the Intercontinental Championship from the timekeeper and lets out that Million Dollar Cackle as he hands it back to his client Rich Steiner, just as Ahmed and Davey Boy revive the sleeping giant in the ring. Seeing the look of rage on Sid's face when he comes around the Corporation look to make a hasty retreat, turning tail and heading up the aisle way....when they reach the top however, DiBiase can't help himself....and he turns to taunt the three men in the ring. He tells them to get used to that feeling.....that feeling of defeat.....because that's exactly what you're going to feel again on Sunday night, and any other night that you're stupid enough to step into the ring with the Million Dollar Corporation. DiBiase turns and looks at Steiner, before pointing to the Intercontinental Title around his waist....he says that when you're backed by Ted DiBiase, this is what happens.....and when you're not backed by Ted DiBiase......well, Sid you JUST found out what happens when you're not backed by Ted DiBiase.

Sid snatches a microphone from ringside, then screams at DiBiase that the only reason that little punk Steiner is standing there with the gold right now.....is because that other little punk, Jeff Jarrett, just smashed him over the head with a guitar. Sid says that's fine....laugh it up.....but on Sunday night.....at the Survivor Series......he has a man waiting who has a big, big score to settle with DiBiase.....and a big, big, big score to settle......with Rich Steiner......Ahmed and Davey are going to take out the Southern Punks there......which will just leave Jeff Jarrett.....and Jeff, guess what ".......I'll kill you......"

It's almost time for the main event of the evening, but before that we go down to the commentary table, and more importantly, to the front row of the crowd, where six seats have been taped off all night with a reserved sign over them......McMahon speculates as to who would have reserved the seats and then not shown up....but it soon becomes crystal clear who's seats these are.....as the KLiQ's music starts to play, and the group obnoxiously makes their way down the aisle.....clearly they are here for a front row view of our main event. Michaels has security shift the fans back a few feet, then orders them to form a wall around the KLiQ, separating them from these ".....idiots in the crowd.....we're just here to watch the Hitman get his ass kicked, not catch flea's from these morons....."

It's time for the main event of the evening....and and it's quite an intriguing one....not just because this marks Kane's first main even match......not just because this marks the first time that Bret Hart has faced off against the Big Red Monster....but because Bret "The Hitman" Hart is accompanied to ringside by Owen Hart, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Brian Pillman....not that Austin and Pillman look particularly happy about being there....truth be told, on any other week, Stone Cold and the Loose Cannon would like nothing more than to watch Kane dismantle the Hitman....but when you are six days away from teaming with Bret Hart....in a match with serious ramifications.....then the last thing you want is Hart picking up an injury when you are relying on him.

As far as matches go, this was very, very good.....not that it should come as a surprise after seeing Bret carry Psycho Sid to a world class contest, because Kane is twice the worker Sid is. And even though Kane is not quite at the level of the Hitman, Bret made his opponent look like an absolute star here tonight. After spending the opening minutes of the match trying to chop down the big redwood, it was only a matter of time before Kane took control and began to dismantle the veteran former World Champion.....and not only does Bret have to contend with a physical assault from Kane, he has to suffer from a verbal assault from two of his Tag Team partners.....as Austin and Pillman spend most of the time Bret is on the defence calling him a stupid son of a bitch.

For as good as this match was, it certainly deserved a conclusive ending......unfortunately that didn't happen....because with Kane firmly in control.....

.......the lights go off........

........and when the lights come back on, The Undertaker is standing there........at ringside......in front of James E. Cornette. Cornette goes completely bug eyed, as the Undertaker leans in close, asking him "......if you're the only thing stopping my brother from fighting me tonight.....what happens if I remove you from the equation?....." He then reaches out and grasps Jim Cornette by the throat.....before Chokeslamming him right out there on the floor.

Kane is out to his managers side as quick as a seven foot monster can, and stands looking down at the fallen Cornette, before snapping his head around to look at his brother, who invites him to try it......and finally, after months and months and months of waiting.....The Undertaker finally gets his wish.....and the two giant men begin hammering each other with blows.....

.......just as the KLiQ jump the barricade from their from row position, and get the jump on their Survivor Series opponents.....including Bret Hart.....and with Kane fighting The Undertaker....and Bret fighting the KLiQ.....the official waves this one off and heads to the back.

Winner: No Contest

The match is over, and nobody gives a damn......because the Undertaker and Kane are busy taking twenty years of frustration out on each other in the aisleway, fighting all the way up towards the entrance way, where they continue to beat the holy hell out of each other, before they finally clutch one another by the throats in stereo Chokeslam attempts.......

.......while the action continues in the ring, as the KLiQ continue their assault of their Survivor Series opponents. The distraction that the arrival of the Undertaker caused, means Austin, Pillman and the Hart Brothers never got out of first gear here, and the KLiQ are soon firmly in control. So much so that it's time to have a little bit of fun.....as Shawn Michaels tells Scott Hall to pick Owen Hart to his feet, so he can kick the maple syrup out of him. Hall does just that.....and Michaels tunes up the band, before letting fly.....just as Brian Pillman of all people pulls Hart to safety.....and Scott Hall gets dropped with some Sweet Chin Music.......and hoo boy is Kevin Nash of happy about that.......

Rating: A*

.......meanwhile on the entrance ramp Kane and the Undertaker have both released their respective choke holds.....and are now just punishing one another with every hard surface that is to hand.....including the video screen.....

.......back in the ring Kevin Nash has dropped Steve Austin to the mat, and is currently screaming at Shawn Michaels that he "......thought we were done with this s##t.......what the hell are you doing......" Michaels doesn't know when to shut up though.....and repeatedly tells Nash that it was an accident.....and to get out of his face.....before actually pie-facing Nash....and while the KLiQ have been coexisting for a few weeks.....that's all it takes to set Nash off......and in a shot that's been months in the making, he absolutely nails The Heartbreak Kid right in the jaw.......

........seeing this the Hart Brothers are happy to stand back and watch the KLiQ kill each other.....in fact so happy that Bret actually reaches down to help Steve Austin to his feet......unfortunately Austin doesn't know that it's Hart, thinking Nash has come back to inflict some more punishment.......and he drops the Hitman blind with the Stone Cold Stunner......which obviously doesn't go down well with Owen......

......and just six days before what may well be one of the most explosive events of the year....we have absolute pandemonium here on Monday Night Raw.......Kane is fighting the Undertaker, the Undertaker is trying to kill Kane......the KLiQ are trying to put themselves between Shawn Michaels and Kevin Nash, who are trading right hand after right hand, letting all their frustrations out......and Steve Austin, Brian Pillman and The Hart Brothers are back doing what they do best.....beating each other up........how will either of these teams co-exist at the Survivor Series......and will the Undertaker and Kane even make it there without killing each other?

We are hot on the heels of one of my favourite events of the year.....or what was one of my favourite events of the year anyway, it's kind of lost its way in recent years....but from its conception until around 1990, the Survivor Series was one hell of an event. It's kind of a risk in this day and age to be running a Pay Per View without a single title match to be seen.....and it's even more of a risk to be looking at closing a show with an eight man match....but it's a risk I'm willing to take. We're flying pretty high as a company at the minute, so if we take a bit of a dink from this show then I'll take it on the chin.

We certainly can't do any worse than Nitro this week....who continue to insist putting their Champion in repeated Tag Team matches. This week he and Vader went to a no contest with Sting and Hulk Hogan.....so not only is the Champion not competing in singles matches, he's not even winning his Tag bouts.....go figure. WCW continue their tour of my homeland, the United Kingdom, as this week Nitro drew 5,100 fans to Manchester.

Dominic DeNucci's wrestling school got a new head trainer this week.....DeNucci, who's biggest success was arguably training the WWF's own Mankind, has given the job to Gerald Brisco.....I can't say I'm too thrilled by the decision, since Brisco is currently tied to a deal with us as one of our Road Agents. He assures me that there won't be any conflicts of interest and it won't interfere with his role here in the WWF, but to be honest I'd rather that all his attention fans focused on his job here, not having to share that attention with a training school.
