A new generation.....a new attitude?

Recommended Posts

<p>We drew our biggest rating yet this week ahead of Sunday's In Your House event.....and I don't think it was because the fans were tuning in to see Psycho Sid. The Master and the Ruler of the World might try to convince you that our 18.17 rating compared to Nitro's 15.40 was because the fans were desperate to see him capture the title on Sunday......but in reality it's probably got more to do with the fact that everything the KLiQ touches at the minute is gold.....every angle has the fans jumping out of their seats.....and if you were so inclined to rate promos on a star level, you would be looking at five stars along the board.......Bischoffs answer to that? Hulk Hogan actually winning a match.....as he went over Arn Anderson this week in the only match worth a damn on the whole show.</p><p> </p><p> I thought I might get a quiet couple of weeks with the exit of Triple H.....but no.....apparently the Legion of Doom felt the need to fill the void......Hawk first.....as he decided that it would be a good idea to get into a screaming match with some of the fans before the show......to the point that a number of our Nation of Domination members had to physically restrain him......it's good to see Kayfabe alive and well, where the dastardly heels are coming to the rescue of the fans from the heroic faces.....</p><p> </p><p> ......and if that wasn't bad enough, Animal decided to follow his partners lead by first welcoming Paul Roma into the locker room by ridiculing him for Power and Glorys 59 second loss to the LoD back in 1991.....and then when Roma failed to find the funny side, he decided to attack the poor guy for good measure.....</p><p> </p><p> .....both guys got off with a fine this time, but if they think that this is going to be a regular occurrence then they're going to find themselves sat next to Hunter in the unemployment line.</p><p> </p><p> Financially we are on track to make a loss this month, for the first time since I took the book......but in my defence there is a very good reason for it. We spent almost $2.500.000 dollars buying out the struggling Union of Wrestling Forces International (or UWFI for short) promotion in Japan, only to quietly disband it.......now I know what you're thinking, why spend that much money on a promotion that you're not going to do anything with? Well I'll tell you.....see Japan is pretty much the only area that the WWF has zero coverage in......and zero chance of getting coverage because our popularity is so low.....seriously, Western Australia are bigger fans of ours than Japan is........however the publicity around the sale has generated enough of a buzz around our product that we have finally managed to ink a deal for Raw to air over their.....and on one of the bigger commercial networks, Nippon......unfortunately we still couldn't get a PPV outlet, but Nippon have agreed to air our events too, so at least any prospective fans over in the east will be able to keep up with what's going on. I'm really pleased with the deal, because we've literally held shows in Japan to test the waters, that drew less than a hundred people to them.....where as now we have developed a little bit of a cult following overnight......creeping ever closer to that international feel.</p><p> </p><p> Speaking of takeovers, we also spent thirty grand to buy out the American Wrestling Federation......we've kept them going however as a developmental company....mainly because their AWF Warriors of Wrestling show can be seen throughout all the USA and Canada, giving us a much bigger audience than our current developmental territory Championship Wrestling USA, which is more limited to the Oregon area than anywhere else. I don't really need two developmental companies however so we quietly severed ties with the CWUSA, moved our current talent down to the AWF.....as well as signing a few more prospects.....a young team featuring Robbie Rage and Kenny Chaos called High Voltage who have a great look.....D'Lo Brown who looks like a good signing already......and a few potential light heavyweights in Mr Aguila and James Maritato.....well see how they fair in the AWF, but for now I have a Pay Per View to book.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43289" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p> </p><p> <img alt="80KQxoo.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/80KQxoo.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <strong>Preview for In Your House, Week 3, October 1996</strong> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>WWF Championship</strong></p><p> Shawn Michaels © vs. Psycho Sid</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> <strong>WWF Tag Team Championships</strong></p><p> Steve Austin & Brian Pillman © vs. The KLiQ (Hall & Nash)</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> <strong>WWF Intercontinental Championship</strong></p><p> The British Bulldog © vs Rich Steiner</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> Mankind vs Kane</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Ravens Rules</strong></p><p> (Freedom vs Servitude)</p><p> Al Snow vs Raven</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> Chris Candido vs. Sean Waltman</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> Mark Mero vs. Billy Gunn</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> The Sons of Samoa (Kokina/Rikishi/Rocky) vs. The Nation of Domination (Faarooq/Kama/Nelson)</p><p> </p><p> The Hardy Boys vs. ??? & ???</p><p> Who is ???/??? For all DiBiase's boasts that "everyone has a price" and that he is going to lead his Corporation to glory.....his group, in all its various incarnations, has won precisely diddly squat since its inception back in 1994....so you've got to believe that Steiner is feeling the pressure here tonight.</p><p> </p><p> If he is though, he isn't showing it......in fact Steiner has developed quite the cocky streak since his alliance with DiBiase, strutting around the ring and looking down his nose at the peons in the crowd and the commoners across the ring from him.....The two men slowly circle each other as the bell rings....before coming face to face in a stare down, where the pair trade some insults that finally breaks down into a shoving match. They lock up in the collar and elbow and the Bulldog impressively powers Steiner into the corner where, after a clean break, he hits a double biceps pose to Steiner. It's not often that Steiner is over powered, and he's clearly not happy about it....because he charges at the Champion, only to find himself on the receiving end of an arm drag.....and then a second arm drag when he tries it again. Steiner is furious and wants another tie up with the Bulldog....Davey Boy accepts and this time Steiner finds himself locked into a side headlock. Rich uses the ropes to propel Smith off....but the Bulldog nails him with a running Shoulder Block on his return which sends the Challenger bailing to the outside, where he seeks council from his manager. </p><p> </p><p> Davey looks to follow Steiner out the floor, but thinks better of it....instead choosing to bide his time in the ring as his opponent stretches out the ten count for as long as possible. Jim Ross remarks that the Bulldog is wrestling smart, because he doesn't have to beat Steiner here, Steiner has to beat him if he wants to take home the Gold. Both men back inside and Steiner feigns a collar and elbow, but actually slips behind the Bulldog looking for a belly to back suplex......The Bulldog is able to counter with an Irish Whip however and he catches Steiner on the return and picks him up with a big delayed military press slam....the impact of which again sends Rich halfway across the ring.....and when he does finally pull himself back to his feet, Davey Boy sends him flying over the top rope with a running clothesline over the top rope and out to the floor, where DiBiase is waiting. This time the Bulldog does follow him to the outside, but it backfires, as Steiner is pulled out of the way of another Clothesline attempt by DiBiase....leaving Smith nothing to connect with but the steel post.</p><p> </p><p> Back inside the ring and Steiner whips Davey Boy into the ropes....Bulldog attempts to counter into a crucifix pinning move, but Steiner is able to use his opponents momentum to spin him all the way around to his front, where he sends him flying overhead with a big release belly to belly suplex. Steiner applies a reverse chin lock to the downed Bulldog, but Davey fights to his feet and attempts to break free with a series of elbows......Steiner cuts him off however, sending Davey for a ride with an Irish Whip and delivering a back elbow of his own to the face of the Champion on his return. Steiner has slipped into the role of the arrogant heel rather well since his new found allegiance with the Million Dollar Man....and DiBiase is a real asset at ringside, because Steiner is the only member of the Corporation so far (past and present) that he has truly clicked with. Steiner sends Bulldog hard into the turnbuckles and follows in with a stiff corner clothesline that leaves Davey Boy sat slumped on the mat. Steiner mounts the second turnbuckle over his fallen opponent and screams at the crowd that <em>".....that's why I'm Rich......and you're not......"</em> but he takes too long about it, and the Bulldog is able to catch hold of him from behind and deliver a belly to back suplex from the middle rope.</p><p> </p><p> The two men get back to their feet and the Bulldog tries to continue the assault, but he's more beaten down than Steiner by this point, and despite managing to deliver a trifecta of right hands, his opponent is able to gut him off with a knee to the midsection....then grabs him by the back of the head as he's doubled over and drives his face into the mat. A series of Steinerlines almost take Davey's head off.....but the it's the Piledriver that follows that causes the most damage, and we very nearly have a new Champion after a longgggg two count. Steiner isn't happy with the kick out, asking the referee how much its gonna cost to hire him a maths tutor......because by all accounts this official doesn't know how to count to three. The ref tells him that it was a two however....and to concentrate on his opponent......Steiner does exactly that, and picks the Bulldog up over his shoulder in what looks to be the position for Davey Boys own Running Powerslam......but before Rich can add insult to injury, the Intercontinental Champion wriggles free and drops behind Steiner, before sending him chest first hard into the corner and catching a quick surprise roll up out out of nowhere for as equally as close count as Steiner scored a moment ago.</p><p> </p><p> The near fall leaves Steiner shaken, as he realises that he very nearly lost this one. He swings wildly at the Bulldog, but Davey blocks each shot, countering with a pinch of his own, before backing Steiner into the corner with two stiff headbutts. The Champion mounts the middle rope and gives the ten punches of doom as the crowd count along with each one, then whips Steiner across the ring to the opposite corner. High Back Body Drop and a running clothesline from Smith is followed up with that patented delayed Vertical Suplex. The Bulldog signals to the crowd that this one is over, and he hoists Steiner up over his shoulder.....then hits hard with the Running Powerbomb for the......</p><p> </p><p> One......</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> ........two.........</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> .......but not the three......</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> ........because at the last possible second, Ted DiBiase yanks Steiner to the outside by his ankle, breaking up the count. Deebs pulls Rich back to his feet at ringside, and the official reprimands DiBiase for interfering, but Steiner is having none of it.....screaming that <em>".....HE DIDN'T DO NOTHIN'......I KICKED OUT STOOPID......"</em></p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i.imgur.com/k6DGuKj.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/2Kz9qfQ.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> .........and while that argument ensues Southern Justice come running down the aisle. Dennis Knight clips the Bulldogs knee from behind before Mark Canterbury drives him to the mat with an inverted DDT. The two men slither out of the ring, while Steiner informs the referee to shut up because he has a match to win. Steiner climbs up onto the apron, then goes all the way up to the top rope, biding his time until the Champion gets slowly to his feet......then the Corporation man lets fly.....and the Bulldog eats a Bulldog from the top. Steiner makes the cover.....and three seconds later, Ted DiBiase's Million Dollar Corporation finally has its first taste of gold.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner:</strong> ....and <strong>New</strong> WWF Intercontinental Champion.....Rich Steiner</p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> B+</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43289" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p> </p><p> <img alt="7M1mABh.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7M1mABh.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="tsQXS32.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/tsQXS32.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="IYJgUWD.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IYJgUWD.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="pzXetTl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/pzXetTl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <img alt="bN15JFv.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/bN15JFv.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="MC3cI3I.jpg" data-src="https://i.Imgur.com/MC3cI3I.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> We go to some pre recorded footage now from earlier in the evening, and we are treated to a visual representation of the KLiQ arriving at the arena......but.....not exactly together.....Nash, Hall, Waltman and Credible are shown walking the halls as a tightly knit, black and white shirt wearing cohesive unit. Matt is roughly tossed to the outside as the Disasters focus their offence onto Jeff.....and poor Jeff feels every second of that offence....</p><p> </p><p> ....these aren't a pair of Ham and Eggers in the ring with the Hardys....these are former WWF Tag Team Champions.....and a team that took the Legion of Doom themselves to the limit on more than one occasions.....in fact, Earthquake himself has crushed many a wrestling legend....even the immortal Hulk Hogan found himself on the end of the debilitating Earthquake Splash. Obviously there's nothing technical about this one.....the Disasters simply use their massive frames to squash the younger Hardy like a bug. It's all high impact.....from running avalanche splashes in the corner....huge clotheslines.....and rib breaking body slams......in fact Typhoon almost picks up the victory after crushing Jeff with a running splash.....then remaining in place as Earthquake delivers a running splash to the back of his own partner....leaving Jeff to take the full force of almost a ton coming down on top of him....the only thing that saved the match there was Matt hitting the ring to break up the pin.</p><p> </p><p> Hawk and Animal remain at ringside throughout the match, as they have for the previous Hardy Boys matches....and while they haven't (and don't) physically interfere in any of the bouts, it doesn't stop them offering words of encouragement....shouting at Jeff to "come on.....you wanted testing.....show us what you've got". Thins look pretty bleak for young Jeff.....at least until he taps into his inner animal.....because as Typhoon holds onto Hardy from behind, Earthquake comes running in, looking to make a Hardy Sandwich, with Jeff as the filling......Jeff however, kicks his leg back, catching Typhoon right below the belt.......Hardy moves out of the way, leaving The Natural Disasters to have a Disaster of their own as they collide into each other. Earthquake goes down and Typhoon goes tumbling to the outside....as Jeff makes the hot Tag.</p><p> </p><p> Matt hits the ring (and hits Earthquake) with a series of strikes. He doubles the big man over and begins clubbing blows into the back of the hefty Canadian. Earthquake manages to send Matt across the ring however with a big shove.....but Jeff instantly takes his place, and now he is clubbing down on Quake. The former Sumo star manages to deliver a big shove to Jeff, just long enough to catch his breath.....but before he has chance to recover, BOTH Hardys come charging in....and go full Demolition with duel clubbing blows to the big Canadian, until he's down on the mat. Typhoon gets back into the ring and charges at Matt, who sidesteps him and uses his own momentum to send him crashing into the turnbuckles. Matt drops down to all fours in front of Typhoon and Jeff comes sprinting across the ring, leaping off his brothers back and crashing into Typhoon with the Poetry in Motion.</p><p> </p><p> Earthquake is back to his feet and he tries to run through both Hardys, but the Brothers move and again the Natural Disasters collide.....this time in the corner, and as Earthquake slumps against his partner with the air knocked out of him, again Matt drops to his hands and knees....and again Jeff lets fly with Poetry in Motion.....this time however as he collides with Earthquake, Earthquake crushes Typhoon, who drops to the mat and rolls to the outside. Big Quake staggers forward into the middle of the ring, where Matt is waiting to deliver a Twist of Fate....Jeff climbs to the top....and it looks like we have permission to fly once again, because he comes leaping off with a Swanton Bomb. Both Matt and Jeff jump on top of Earthquake for the cover.....and against much larger opposition, The Hardy Boys are your winners.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner(s):</strong> The Hardy Boys</p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> C+</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43289" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p> </p><p> <img alt="Rc3NoDZ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Rc3NoDZ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <img alt="NJr4NXD.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/NJr4NXD.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="hzDZTVJ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/hzDZTVJ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><span>http://i.imgur.com/k6DGuKj.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/2Kz9qfQ.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> While the Legion of Doom congratulate the Hardys on another well earned victory, we head to the back where another celebration is taking place. Dok Hendrix is in the lavish locker room of the Million Dollar Corporation......and he's trying to get word from the CEO Ted DiBiase.....as well as from the new WWF Intercontinental Champion, Rich Steiner. Unfortunately Steiner is in the process of receiving a Champagne Shower from Southern Justice and is too busy trying to use his new title belt as a makeshift umbrella to speak......DiBiase has something to say though. He tells Hendrix that this night was the culmination of months worth of negotiations with the intelligent half of the Steiner Brothers.....and that's why Rich Steiner is stood here tonight as a singles Champion.....and Scott Steiner isn't.....but this is just the first step on the Corporations master plan.....today the Intercontinental Championship.....tomorrow the World......that's the World Tag Team Championships......and more importantly, the WWF World Heavyweight Championship. </p><p> </p><p> But that's for then.....and tonight is about the here and now....and in the here and now the Million Dollar Corporation are going to sit back and watch, as the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels, kicks Psycho Sid's ungrateful teeth down his seven foot throat. For weeks now they have been hounding Mero's Valet, the beautiful Sable.....and after constantly disregarding the young lady's plea's to be left alone, it's time for Mero to handle this the old fashioned way. </p><p> </p><p> Mero is fired up for this from the moment the bell rings.....and Perfect can see it too.....which is why he instructs his client to stall at the start of this one, leaving Mero to get more and more frustrated as Gunn repeatedly avoids the lock up. At the instruction on the official the two men eventually tie up, but Mr. Perfect's stalling tactic worked like a charm, because Mero is so frustrated that Gunn is able to get the upper hand, locking in and armbar before clawing at the eyes of Mero. Mero backs off and the cocky Billy Gunn invites him to lock up again.....Mero isn't waiting for any more stalling tactics however and catches Gunn square in the chin with a standing dropkick....he then catches his charging opponent with a snapmare before uncharacteristically raking the back of the seated Gunn.</p><p> </p><p> Now it's Gunn that is frustrated, and he comes running at Mero, but the Wildman is able to leap up and hit a clumsy Hurricanrana that he rolls through so that he is sat on the chest of his opponent.....and rains down blows onto the skull of Billy Gunn.....a second Dropkick by Mero, who then goes through the middle rope to the ring apron, before propelling himself back into the ring (and into his opponent) with a Springboard Clothesline that sends Gunn bailing to the outside to seek some guidance from his Consultant. Mero comes charging, looking for that somersault attack over the top rope.....but Perfect and Gunn take a walk, congratulating each other on their initiative.....unfortunately Mero has slid out under the bottom rope and appears behind the two men, smashing their heads together and tossing Gunn back into the ring.</p><p> </p><p> Mero goes to follow his opponent to the inside, but Mr. Perfect is up and quickly grabs Mero by the ankle giving Gunn the opportunity to drop a knee to back of the Wildman's neck. He picks up Mero and takes him to the corner, connecting with a series of closed fists.....Mero is able to seize hold of Gunn however and spin HIM into the corner.....but Billy goes to the eyes to escape, before tossing Mero hard to the outside. With Gunn distracting the attention of the official, Perfect picks up a chair and advances on the unsuspecting Mero.....but before he can deliver the blow, Sable comes running up behind him and drops to her knees to deliver a low blow. Perfect drops to the floor....and drops the chair.....which Sable retrieves and runs around the opposite side of the ring with, as Mero drags himself back into the ring.</p><p> </p><p> Back on the inside and Gunn puts the boots to Mero, then picks him up and sends him into the corner. He once again unloads with a series of closed fists....this time Mero has no answer to them and Gunn is able to whip him hard into the opposite corner, which Mero collides with at such impact that he crumples to the mat in pain. On the outside Perfect has finally recovered from the low blow at the hands of Sable, and is currently stalking the terrified young lady around the floor. Mero attempts to mount a comeback, but he's too distracted by Perfects antics to fully focus his attention on his opponent....and Gunn capitalises with a high knee to the kidneys. He slams Mero hard to the mat and then comes off the middle rope with a driving elbow drop. He makes the cover, but it's only good for two and so he begins to stomp the tar out of his man, just as Perfect catches up with Sable on the outside.</p><p> </p><p> Perfect grips hold of the young blonde, and forces her to look at the ring, where Billy is indicating that this one is over. He kicks Mero in the midsection, doubling him over.....then runs the ropes and looks to connect with the Famouser.....but Mero moves at the last second, and all Gunn accomplishes is to crash and burn ass first on the canvas. The Wildman drops to the outside, which causes Perfect to release Sable, shoving her into Mero's waiting arms as he retreats around to the opposite side of the ring. Meanwhile Gunn has recovered enough to try and mount some offence and he comes leaping off the apron with a double Ax-Handle....but Mero sees him coming and cuts him off with a right hand to the mid section on his way down. </p><p> </p><p> The two men get back into the ring and the match descends into a slug fest....with Mero getting the upper hand....but again Perfect continues his harassment of Sable....and again it acts as a distraction that leads to Mero getting dropped on his head with a belly to back Suplex. Desperate to escape the advances of Perfect, Sable hops up onto the apron......right into Billy Gunn's waiting arms.....who plants a long kiss right on her as Sable desperately tries to break free. Gunn finally releases the kiss and fans himself mockingly.....but Sable is not impressed.....and slaps the taste out of Billy with a stinging blow that turns him all the way around......straight into a quick left jab from Marc Mero. Perfect jumps onto the apron and receives a jab of his own that knows him back down to the floor, which just leaves Mero the task of covering his unconscious opponent.....and three seconds later Sables honour is finally defended.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner:</strong> Marc Mero</p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> B</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43289" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p> </p><p> <img alt="pLtZNWI.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/pLtZNWI.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> VS. <img alt="IYJgUWD.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IYJgUWD.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img style="max-width:10%;</p><p> "src="<a href="https://i.imgur.com/pzXetTl.jpg" rel="external nofollow">https://i.imgur.com/pzXetTl.jpg"></a></p><p> </p><p> If you had asked the average fan on the street three months ago to tell you who they thought one of the biggest thorns in the KLiQs side would be, you could pretty much bet the house that not one person would have said Body Donna Skip......and yet here we are three months later.....and the repackaged Chris Candido has cost the KLiQ the Intercontinental Championship....the Light Heavyweight Championship.....and even a member....as he defeated Hunter Hearst Helmsley at last months In Your House, in a loser leaves town match.......so all in all that's made him a pretty big damn thorn. </p><p> </p><p> And while we are on the subject of the Light Heavyweight Championship....it's a Championship that appears to have caught the eye of the former fitness fanatic, because while he has been quick to lend a hand when Champion Rey Mysterio has needed it, he has certainly been caught admiring the little luchador's gold......but then so has his opponent this evening, Sean Waltman.....the man who Mysterio defeated to begin with to start his reign....and considering that both men have their eye on the same prize, it's a pretty good guess that the winner of this one would have a pretty good claim to be next in line for a shot at that very Championship.</p><p> </p><p> Candido is going to have his work cut out for him here tonight however, because Waltman hasn't come to this one alone, he's got Justin Credible by his side....and while these two do have an excellent match, it's not without its share of interference from the KLiQ man.....although not to begin with.....in fact Candido starts of strong with a technical flurry that ends with Waltman locked in a waistlock. Candido tries a takedown from the rear which Waltman blocks.....then tries to hit a German Suplex which Waltman also blocks....and the two men eventually find themselves tangled up in the ropes. Clean break from Candido, but Waltman hits him with a cheap right hand which infuriates Chris, who drives his opponent into the corner with right hands of his own, before delivering a flurry of forearm strikes and a snap Suplex. Candido tries for a running clothesline, but Waltman ducks and unleashes a series of martial arts kicks that culminate with a big jumping back kick that floors Candido.</p><p> </p><p> Waltman chops at his own crotch, then tells his opponent to "Suck It", before lifting him to his feet and attempting a spinning forearm smash....this time however it's Candido who ducks, and he nails his opponent with a back Suplex. Waltman gets back to his feet and attempts to connect with a high kick, but his foot gets caught and Candido hits a spinning leg whip, then wrenches on with a leg lock that Waltman can only break by clutching on to the bottom rope. Candido looks to keep up the offence, but clearly in need of a breather Waltman reaches up and grabs his opponent by the tights and flings him through the middle ropes and out to the floor. Then clutches at his knee screaming to draw the officials attention away from the face that as Candido gets back to his feet, Justin Credible sends him flying into the ring steps.</p><p> </p><p> Waltman's knee makes a miraculous recovery as Candido struggles back into the ring, and he whips His opponent hard into the corner and follows in with a running clothesline. Again he tells Candido to "Suck it", then sends him into the ropes, where he nails a spinning heel kick on Candido's return. He walks around the ring taunting his opponent, delivering a little kick here and there....more for insult than injury. He attempts to whip Candido into the corner again but this time Chris reverses it, and it's Waltman that hits the turnbuckles. Candido runs in, looking for a corner clothesline of his own, but Waltman hits a back body drop that leaves Candido teetering on the apron....then sends him crashing to the floor with a springboard dropkick.</p><p> </p><p> Waltman comes crashing down on his opponent with a pescado over the top rope, then attempts to whip Candido into the crowd rail, but Candido reverses it and it's Waltman that hits the steel. Chris charges at the former Light Heavyweight Champion, but Credible is there to yank Waltman out of harms way and Candido crashes and burns into the barrier. Jerry Lawler on commentary screams at the official to do something about the constant interference of Justin Credible, but it's falling on deaf ears for now, because he's allowing this one to continue, and Waltman tosses Candido back into the ring to continue the offence. He hits a series of strikes, before nailing a number of kicks that leaves his opponent slumped against the turnbuckles......and a big body splash to follow up results in Candido being sat on the mat with his back against the turnbuckles. Waltman backs up and again gives a crop chop.....then runs the length of the ring and crashes into the chest of his opponent, riding him like a bronco.....in fact so much so that Credible screams at the King, asking him <em>".....do you like that Burger King? That's called the Bronco Buster....."</em></p><p> </p><p> Waltman leans down and slaps Candido about the head, telling him that <em>"....this is what happens when you mess with the KLiQ.....you get treated like a little b###h....."</em> before backing up and going for the Bronco Buster again.....he went to the well once to often though....because this time when he leaps Candido gets a foot up to protect himself.....and Waltman does not land well.....especially if he's planning on having kids in the future. Slowly but surely Candido claws his way back into the fight and Credible isn't happy about it on the outside. Candido pounds on Waltman, before slamming him to the mat and heading up top. Diving Elbow Drop from up high very nearly gives Candido the three count, but Waltman gets a shoulder up at the last possible second. He climbs the turnbuckles again, but this time he takes too long and Waltman is up to meet him. The two men battle it out up on the top turnbuckle, trading blows back and forth with each man looking to gain the advantage.....it's Candido that comes out on top however, and unbelievably he looks as though he is trying to position his opponent for a top rope Powrbomb......</p><p> </p><p> .......Credible is up on the apron as quick as a flash however, and he has a firm grip on the ankle of Candido.....at least until Candido is able to yank his foot free and kick Credible down off the apron and back down to the floor. Unfortunately, the distraction proved costly for Candido.....because in the midst of the confusion he is able to slip free of Candido's grasp, and then grab a hold of his opponent, sending him crashing to the mat with a top rope version of that sit out Facebuster that has won him so many matches here in the WWF.....and it's more than enough to ensure victory here tonight.....</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner:</strong> Sean Waltman</p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> B</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43289" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p> </p><p> <img alt="IYJgUWD.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IYJgUWD.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="pzXetTl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/pzXetTl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="pLtZNWI.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/pLtZNWI.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> It's time to punctuate this victory....as the KLiQ look to make an example of the young man that has caused so many problems to their group. Credible joins Waltman in the ring, and the two competitors begin to stomp the living daylights out of Chris Candido. Credible rolls back to the outside and picks up a steel chair from ringside, before sliding back in and laying the steel furnishing flat down on the mat. Waltman drags Credible back to his feet and positions him over the chair......and it looks as though he is about to drive Candido's skull onto the steel with a second Facebuster......which is when the sound of a headset being slammed down is audibly heard over the broadcast....</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="HHdul53.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/HHdul53.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> ......and Jerry Lawler has seen enough.....the King comes bolting into the ring and begins laying waste to both Waltman and Credible.....at least long enough for Candido to get into the fight....then the four men pair off, with Lawler brawling with Credible and Waltman and Candido continuing their battle. Eventually the two KLiQ men are fought off....and Waltman and Credible scurry up the aisleway and to the back, leaving Candido and Lawler to celebrate in the ring.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> B+</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43289" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p> </p><p> <img alt="cr5i0Lz.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/cr5i0Lz.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> VS. <img alt="oJqc7jC.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/oJqc7jC.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Raven's Rules</strong></p><p> (Freedom vs. Servitude)</p><p> </p><p> It's time for things to get a little crazy now, as Al Snow goes up against Raven for the second month in a row.....things are a little different this time however, and the stakes are most definitely higher....as should Al Snow fail to win here, both he AND Bill DeMott must become members of Raven's Flock....and a subservient members at that.....couple that with the fact that this isn't just any ordinary match either, this is a Ravens Rules match.....which essentially means that there are no rules....and while Raven has given his word that no member of the Flock will interfere, should they decide to show their faces there is absolutely nothing that the official can do about it. </p><p> </p><p> Raven makes his way out first, and so far true to his word, because he comes to the ring alone. Snow makes his entrance next.....but he isn't alone....he has Head in his hands, and Bill DeMott by his side. Seeing that there is no Flock accompanying Raven, Snow tells DeMott to go to the back, but Bill shakes his head....he has too much invested in this one to be stuck in the back should the Flock decide to make an appearance. Snow agrees but tells him to keep out of harms way, before heading down to the ring, where Raven is stood arms outstretched in a crucifix pose. Snow slides under the bottom rope and is instantly on the attack before the official can even ring the bell. It's a pier six brawl with the two men hammering blows at each other. Raven has the slight edge when it comes to power and gets the advantage in the back and forth....but Snow has an edge when it comes to speed and agility and is able to break free and nail a dropkick that sends Raven bundling to the outside.</p><p> </p><p> Raven takes a moment to compose himself, but Al is straight on the attack, nailing his opponent with a baseball slide, then slamming him down on the arena floor. Raven gets back to his feet but takes a hard steel chair shot across the back by Snow that knocks him back down. Al picks Raven up by the hair, looking to keep up the attack, but Raven tackles him and drives him spine first hard into the safety barrier, before setting Snow up for a Russian Leg Sweep, again using the barricade to his advantage as he drives Al's spine into the steel structure. Raven rolls Snow back into the ring and makes the cover, but he only gets a two count. Snow fights back to his feet but gets decked with a short clothesline, then whipped into the turnbuckles, which Raven follows up with a corner clothesline/running bulldog combination for another two count. Frustrated, Raven tosses Snow back out to the floor, where he reaches under the ring to retrieve some electrical cables, using them to choke the life out of his opponent.</p><p> </p><p> Raven uses the same electrical cable to tie Snow to the corner post.....then picks up a steel chair....he spends too much time taunting Snow however and telegraphing the move....and when he does finally swing the weapon, Al has managed to wriggle free, getting out of harms way at the last second, leaving steel to connect with steel. Raven drops the chair as the vibrations clearly hurt his hands, and Snow quickly picks it up.....before he even has chance to use it however Raven drops him with a low blow, retrieves the chair.....and smashes Al across the back with it. Snow gets tossed back into the ring, with Raven and the steel chair close behind. Raven sets the chair up in a seated position in the middle of the ring, then sends Al across the ring with an Irish Whip, before taking him down with a Drop Toe Hold, that smashes Snow's skull against the steel chair. Cover by Raven and a very near fall. </p><p> </p><p> Raven drags Al to his feet and positions him for the Evenflow but Snow pulls free....instead Raven settles for an Irish Whip and attempts a clothesline on the rebound, Al ducks and continues to run the ropes.....but he runs straight into a high back body drop that sends him flying over the top rope and down to the floor. Raven takes a moment to catch a breather, before reaching through the second rope, presumably to grab hold of Al Snow who is out of shot of the hard camera at ringside........which is when a huge eruption of white spray engulfs the entire top half of Ravens body. Replays show that Al reached underneath the ring and found a fire extinguisher, which he set off in Raven's face. </p><p> </p><p> Al rolls the fire extinguisher into the ring, then slides in himself.....Raven is swinging wildly, but he's still blinded by the fog and can't connect with anything......Snow can see clearly however, and rocks Raven with stinging blows after every missed swing.....he then picks up the extinguisher and runs through his opponent with it, driving it into the skull of Raven, and almost picking up the victory in the process. Firmly back in control, Al picks up near fall after near fall, creeping ever closer to victory, even hitting a Piledriver onto the steel chair that was discarded in the ring earlier.....unfortunately, nothing is keeping the man down.....and if anything, the more pain Raven receives, the more he seems to like it. Finally seemingly frustrated at being unable to keep the man down, Al looks to set up for the Snow Plough.....but Raven worms his way free and winds up on his knees in front of Snow, arms outstretched with a sick smile on his face...........</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="NqqfCgY.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/NqqfCgY.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> .........which is when Bill DeMott comes running down the aisle, with Head in his hands. They certainly need a victory as well....because apart from Rocky Maivia's victory over Scorpio last week, the Sons haven't had much luck when it comes to facing off against the Nation. In fairness to the Sons, they've yet to be fairly defeated....because after all, the Nation are going to take a win by any means necessary. </p><p> </p><p> As for tonight, the NoD are as usual out in force...with Scorpio accompanying them to the ring. Rikishi, Kokina and Maivia make the walk next and they look fired up for this one....so much so that they are straight on the attack the moment the bell sounds. You have two jumbo jets colliding as Kokina and Nelson explode.......Rikishi and Kama trading stiff right hands.....and Rocky and Faarooq continuing their battle from a few weeks ago on Raw. It's the SoS that win this opening round in the battle of the acronyms, as they finally succeed in sending the NoD bailing to the outside. </p><p> </p><p> The Nation regroup and manage to isolate the rookie of the team Rocky Maivia. Faarooq lets his men pick up the majority of the slack, remaining on the apron while Kama and Nelson beat on the youngster.....not that he's an inactive member of the match, because he's smack talking the young Samoan throughout his beating, telling him that he's only half the man that his Daddy Rocky Johnson was.....and since Faarooq is TWICE the man that Rocky Johnson is, that means Faarooq is THREE times the man that young Maivia is.....maybe even four......and Maivia should have heeded his advice and joined with the Nation when he had the chance.....because now Faarooq's gonna whoop his ass like his Daddy should have.</p><p> </p><p> The leader of the Nation finally tags into the match to take advantage of the down and out Maivia.....unfortunately for the Nation, Rocky doesn't stay down for long....clearly all the disparaging remarks about his father have fired the young rookie up and it's not long before Faarooq eats a stiff spinebuster.....leaving Maivia free to tag the big man, Kokina into the match. Kokina comes in like a house of fire and dismantles the Nation single handedly, including laying out Nelson with a (huge) belly to (huge) belly Suplex. Eventually we determinate into a three way brawl....Kokina and Nelson, Rikishi and Kama and finally Rocky and Faarooq......the Samoans have the Nation on the ropes....but as has been the way recently, it's the fourth Nation member that makes the difference.....because with Maivia (rather precociously) perched on the top rope looking for a high cross body, Scorpio hops onto the apron and shoves young Rocky hard to the mat.....where he was easy pickings to be on the receiving end of a Dominator by Faarooq.....again the Nation wins.....and again the extra man is the difference maker.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner(s):</strong> The Nation of Domination</p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> B</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43289" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p> </p><p> <img alt="oJqc7jC.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/oJqc7jC.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="P4qW3WS.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/P4qW3WS.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <img alt="cr5i0Lz.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/cr5i0Lz.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="NqqfCgY.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/NqqfCgY.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="tMF90pK.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/tMF90pK.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="vRMhRGa.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/vRMhRGa.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="GDTWVB2.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/GDTWVB2.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="0VN77xg.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/0VN77xg.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Following that spectacular display of unsportsmanlike behaviour, we head to the back where we see Raven and his Flock hyping Mankind up ahead of his upcoming bout with Kane. Daniels, Doink and the Dogs of War are loudly telling Mankind that he can do this.....that they believe in him......while Bill DeMott stands in the background, apparently still laughing from earlier this evening, but still throwing encouragement Mankind's way. The only Flock member NOT offering encouragement.....is newest recruit Al Snow, who sits crestfallen on a bench, until finally he stands and walks over to Mankind. </p><p> </p><p> He tells him that he doesn't have to do this......he doesn't have to face the Big Red Machine, Kane....he doesn't have to prove anything to anyone.....and he certainly doesn't have to get hurt to prove his worth......but he is silenced by Raven, who placed a hand on his shoulder and tells him to sit down, before dropping to his haunches in front of Mankind himself.</p><p> </p><p> <em>".......there's a monster hiding in the mirror.....when you look closer he comes nearer.....look in his eyes and hear with fear......"you're the only one who knows I'm here"......you know he's in there Mick.......I know he's in there......and I know you're scared.....but all you have to do......is set him free.......let Jack come out to play.......he's been locked up for far too long......"</em></p><p> </p><p> Mankind takes a long breath before slowly raising his eyes to look at Raven......and shaking his head <em>".....I can't....."</em> before standing and leaving the room. My biggest worry was that each man's unorthodox wrestling style, coupled with the fact that neither man could particularly be called a fan favourite, would leave the fans sitting on their hands, but this was anything but. I think it helps that the wider aspects of Mankind's character have been explored in recent months, humanising the misunderstood individual who just wants to belong.....anywhere.</p><p> </p><p> The match itself was never going to be long due to the combatants involved and the type of smash mouth offence they would be inflicting.....but while the match didn't go long, the action certainly did....because as Kane was making his entrance, Mankind comes running out from the back and blindsided the Big Red Monster in the aisle-way, before the referee can even officially get the match underway. The two men trade blows in the aisle, bouncing each other off the safety barricade before reaching ringside. Kane drives Mankind spine first into the corner post and then throws a right hand. He hits nothing but steel however, as Mankind is able to dodge the strike, before slamming Kane's gloved hand a series off times across the top of the steel steps.</p><p> </p><p> Because the two men have yet enter this ring to officially start the match, Mankind is able to wield a steel chair without any promises of disqualification from the official. He slams the chair into the back of Kane a series of times, but it doesn't even phase the Monster. Mankind looks to target another body part and moves around to drive the weapon into the skull of Kane......which is when Kane gets his long leg up, deflecting the chair with his foot and slamming it into the head of Mankind instead. Mankind goes down, but he doesn't stay down for long and he lunges from a crouched position, driving Kane back into the safety barricade. Mankind picks the steel chair back up and wallops Kane over the head with it....but again the big man is wobbled but doesn't go down. Mankind rips up the safety mats that are covering the arena floor, revealing the concrete below and drags Kane over, looking for a Piledriver on the floor......he doesn't even get close though, and Kane backdrops him out of it, but fortunately for Mankind he lands on the safety mats that he HADN'T removed, cushioning his fall somewhat more than landing on the exposed concrete.</p><p> </p><p> Kane drags Mankind over to the ring post and repeatedly slams his head into the unforgiving steel. Finally Kane relents with the assault, and Mankind slumps in a heap on the floor....it's only then that the camera picks up on the fact that the only part of the deranged ones head that isn't covered by the leather mask, has been busted wide open and the blood is flowing a deep crimson down the face of Mankind. Kane looks down at his foe with little sign off emotion, but Cornette is hopping around like a jack rabbit on steroids, screaming at Mankind that he should have known better than to pick a fight he could never finish.....and if he's got any sense he will stay down, let the official start the match.....and take the count out loss....because at least that way he will live to see another miserable day. Kane turns and pulls himself up onto the ring apron, presumably to finally enter the ring at get the match underway....but despite being a beaten and bloody mess Mankind reaches up and claws at his ankle stopping him in his tracks. Kane turns and cocks his head at the gory sight of a bloody Mankind climbing up to meet him, seemingly surprised at the fortitude of this misunderstood star. The crowd seem surprised too, and even more surprising is the light "Mankind" chant that breaks out in response to the bleeding wrestlers heart......</p><p> </p><p> ......unfortunately that heart almost stopped beating....because with both men up on the ring apron, Kane snaps out an arm and grips Mankind by the throat.....before lifting him up in the air and Chokeslamming him all the way down to the floor below, where Mankind lands with a sickening splat on to the concrete that he himself exposed earlier. The crowd is stunned for a moment, before another chant begins to ring out.....only this time it's not "Mankind" but "Holy S##t".....this is not the sort of brutality that the WWF crowds are used to....But they love it the sick b#####d's. Even Cornette is stunned to silence with that one, as Kane coldly glares down at the mangled body of Mankind below, before slowly turning and stepping over the top rope and into the ring. The official is reluctant to ring the bell to get this "match" underway.....but when he sees the unbelievable sight of Mankind trying to struggle to his feet, he signals to the timekeeper to sound the bell, before commencing the ten count.....more to get this match over with and put poor Mankind out of his misery than anything else........</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="cr5i0Lz.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/cr5i0Lz.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="oJqc7jC.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/oJqc7jC.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> ........which is when Al Snow comes running down the aisle.....with Raven ambling slowly behind him. Snow reaches Mankind and begins pleading with him to stay down and take the count out. The bloody is gushing from the head of Mankind, but he is pulling and clawing his way up to a standing position, where he attempts to shove Snow to one side, but he simply doesn't have the strength. Snow holds him back, telling him not to do it.....and as the official reaches eight it looks like this one is going to finally be over.....which is when Raven arrives.....shoves Al to one side.....whispers something into Mankind's ear......and rolls him into the ring just before the referee can count ten. Snow screams at Raven, asking him what the hell he is doing.....to which Raven replys that <em>"....it's for his own good...."</em> before turning and walking away to the back. Mankind crawls over to the Big Red Monster, reaching up to the seven foot mountain, but Kane simply bats his hand away, before dragging him to his feet and positioning him for the Tombstone Piledriver. As with the Mankind and Kane contest prior, there were some concerns heading into this one that the fans would be turned off by the heel vs heel dynamic....but boy were those fears alleviated....and fast. </p><p> </p><p> This was without a doubt one of the best tag team matches we have seen this year bar none. Take into account the heel/heel combination.....Scott Halls declining physical abilities.....and Kevin Nash's.....well.....Kevin Nash's wrestling abilities......and then think about how good this match could have been......although for how good the match WAS, we do have Austin and Pillman to thank for that, both of whom, particularly Austin, put on the performance of a lifetime. The Champions certainly showed their abilities to start this match.....as well as their teamwork....because they do their upmost to ensure that the smaller (although not by much) man is kept in the ring, while Big Sexy is left to pace the apron. Austin and Pillman are certainly no strangers to teaming together, and their fluidity shows.....while both men might be vastly different characters from their Hollywood Blondes days, the chemistry is still there to see....and the only thing that finally turns the tides in the KLiQ's favour, is Kevin Nash reaching out from the apron as Brian Pillman is running the ropes, and snatching the Loose Cannon by the hair, yanking him to the mat. </p><p> </p><p> The Bad Guy tags in the Big Guy, and Nash uses his superior size and strength to brutalise Pillman. He whips his opponent into the corner, where he hits a series of knee strikes to the midsection, before stepping back and jamming that big boot into the windpipe of the Loose Cannon, choking the life out of him while he clutches for breath in the corner. Jim Ross remarks on the series of throat surgeries that Pillman has received over the years, stating that this (illegal) move is more dangerous than usual when utilised against the Loose Cannon. Nash releases the hold and whips Pillman HARD into the opposite corner.....so hard in fact that Pillman comes staggering back out to the middle of the ring, where Nash is waiting with a side slam that scores him a two count. Hall tags back in and continues the onslaught. He hits Pillman with a series of running clotheslines and a vertical suplex. The Loose Cannon tries to make a comeback, trying for a cross body off an Irish Whip attempt.....but Hall catches him in midair, tossing him across the ring with that "Sack of S##t" Fallaway Slam......why the Sack of S##t? Because that's exactly what Pillman gets tossed away like.</p><p> </p><p> Nash gets back into the action, as the KLiQ continue a prolonged period of offence. It's all power from Nash, while Hall attempts to implement a bit more finesse into the action. The announcers spend some time discussing the fact that Bret and Owen Hart will be watching this one back in Calgary, because the Hart Brothers have made no secret of the fact that they want to capture Tag Team Gold......and you've got to imagine that they would be happy facing either tandem here......because the Harts and the KLiQ have been embroiled in a bitter war since the formation of the KLiQ......where as their problems with Austin and Pillman have been equally as obvious. Meanwhile Nash has decided that enough is enough as he sets up for the Jacknife Powerbomb......but at the very height of the move, Pillman is able to wriggle free, landing on the mat behind Nash and very nearly makes it over to Austin, but Nash catches an ankle just in time preventing the tag.....then drops a series of elbows to the lower back of the Tag Team Champion....then dragging him back into the KLiQ's half of the ring.</p><p> </p><p> Again Pillman attempts to utilise his speed, ducking under a Kevin Nash clothesline off an Irish Whip attempt.....but he runs straight into a Big boot on his return that rattles his fillings loose. Hall back in, and he cockily struts around the ring laying arrogant kicks into the fallen Pillman, before indicating that it's all over, giving the sign for the Razors Edge.....and much like Nash earlier, he gets the man up......this time however it's Austin that saves his partner, reaching into the ring and tugging on Pillman's ankles. Again Pillman lands behind his man, this time however he is able to reach back and connect with his "Time Bomb" Hangmans Neckbreaker. The match would undoubtably have been over right there, should Pillman have had enough left to make the cover....but he doesn't....and Hall is finally able to crawl over to his partner.....just as a Pillman manages to slap the outstretched arm of Stone Cold Steve Austin.</p><p> </p><p> Now Austin is in and clearing house.....He lays a series of right hands to Nash that back him into the corner, where Austin proceeds to stomp a mud hole into him. Hall comes charging but Austin sidesteps and pulls down hard on the top rope, causing the Bad Guy to go toppling over, and straight to the outside. Nash used those precious few seconds to recover, and catches Austin with an airing Whip to the opposite corner, then goes running in with a charge.....Austin is able to get his foot (both feet actually) up to meet him, and Nash's chin collides with Austin's boots, knocking him backwards and leaving him wide open for a Lou Thez press, followed by Austin raining blows onto the skull of Big Daddy Cool. Hall gets back into the ring, but so does Pillman....and suddenly these four men are engaged in a huge brawl....a brawl which sees the official knocked down.......</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="bN15JFv.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/bN15JFv.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> .......which is when the WWF Champion, the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels, comes running down the aisle......it's Austin and Hall now brawling on the outside, while Pillman drags the Nash back to his feet....just as Michaels hits the ring. He backs into the corner and begins to tune up the band, waiting for Pillman to turn around.......but as the camera zooms in we get a closer look of HBK's eyes.......and we see that it's not the Loose Cannon that he appears to have in his sights, but Kevin Nash! Pillman and Nash turn around in unison....and Nash's eyes open wide as he sees Shawn's Sweet Chin Music heading his way..... but at the last possible second, Michaels changes his trajectory.....and it's Brian Pillman that eats some Sweet Chin Music. HBK and Nash eye each other for a moment, before Shawn breaks the silence, telling Nash to <em>"....never say that I'm not a team player again...."</em> Michaels then drops to the outside, just as the official recovers to see Kevin Nash deliver a big Jacknife to Pillman.....and three seconds later we have new Champions.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner(s):</strong> ...and <strong>New</strong> WWF Tag Team Champions.......The KLiQ</p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> A</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43289" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p> </p><p> <img alt="bN15JFv.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/bN15JFv.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="7M1mABh.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7M1mABh.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="tsQXS32.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/tsQXS32.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Shawn Michaels is immediately back in the ring, with the WWF World Tag Team Championships in hand. He tosses one at Hall and the other to Nash, telling them that they can thank him later.....right now what they can do, is walk their ungrateful asses to the back....because the Heartbreak Kid has the WWF Championship to defend.....and unlike them, he doesn't need any help to do it, so hit the bricks. Hall and Nash are unsurprisingly p####d off with Shawn's comments....especially Nash, who looks to be about three seconds away from ripping the cocky Boy Toy's head clean off......and the two men actually wind up going nose to nose....until Sunny comes running down the aisle to step between them. She pleads with Hall and Nash to just go to the back and let it go.....Nash doesn't look like he's going anywhere, but Hall eventually grabs him by the arm, telling him that it's not worth it <em>".....Sid's gonna kick his ass anyway......"</em> Eventually and reluctantly Nash backs away, telling Shawn that this ain't over, as the new WWF Tag Team Champions head to the back.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> A*</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43289" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p> </p><p> <img alt="AFgXK1C.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/AFgXK1C.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <img style="max-width:10%;</p><p> "src="<a href="https://i.Imgur.com/MC3cI3I" rel="external nofollow">https://i.Imgur.com/MC3cI3I"></a><img alt="bN15JFv.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/bN15JFv.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> VS. <img alt="tTABVbX.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/tTABVbX.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> It's main event time now......and this is one of the (very) few times that you will see the Champion out before the Challenger.....and that is only because the Champ is already in the ring. Shawn Michaels might claim to be the best that the WWF has to offer.....and he might claim that he needs no help in this one......but this is Psycho Sid that he's in the ring with....and he may live to regret that claim. If the last two matches were a risk due to the heel/heel combinations, then THIS match was a big risk......because it was placing Psycho Sid in the headlining spot. Don't get me wrong, Sid is a main event star in any promotion the world over....and he would certainly be a credible World Champion wherever he went......but asking Shawn to carry the big lug to a watchable main event was a different matter.....unfortunately Shawn has been practically begging in the back for a shot at Sid, ever since Bret Hart dragged a damn near five star classic out of him.....anything Bret can do, Shawn can do better.....so he claims anyway.......and if Shawn didn't better Bret's attempt here, he certainly equaled it if nothing else.....because this was a fantastic match.</p><p> </p><p> The bell rings, and clearly Michaels knows that the only chance he has on this one, is to use his far superior speed to run circles around Sid....because the second Sid catches hold of him, then he's going to be in trouble. He dances around the big man, hitting him with jabs while ducking and weaving around all of the seven footers strikes.....he starts getting cocky though.....and after some Muhammad Ali inspired foot work and taunting......Michaels rubs right into a big boot that knocks him down. Sid picks the Champion up and hits a series of blows, driving him back to the ropes, where he launches Shawn with an Irish Whip that he follows up with a high, high back drop. Michaels back to his feet instantly, but he gets mowed down with a running clothesline....back to his feet again (he's a scrappy little b#####d is Shawn if nothing else) and Michaels peppers Sid with blows.....but the Challenger shrugs him off and sends him hard into the corner, so hard that Shawn goes upside down and inside out, channeling his inner Ric Flair to flip over the ropes and land on the ring apron......where Sid again mows him down with a running clothesline that levels the Champ, leaving him lying on the apron.</p><p> </p><p> Sid tells the crowd that he's the man....they agree.....before reaching over the top rope to pick up Shawn. Michaels however jabs him in the eye, then baseball slides into the ring under the bottom rope and between Sid's legs.....then reaches up to try and pull the Challenger down for a Sunset flip type of pinning manoeuvre....except this was obviously more of a Sunset Slide....but Sid is still way too fresh and way too strong.....and he reaches down with both hands to clutch Shawn around the neck.....lifts him clear from the mat, high into the air....then tosses him backwards, sending the Champion stumbling over the top rope and down to the floor.....again Michaels is straight back in and charges at Sid.....who catches him in a military press.....walks him over to the ropes.....and drops him right to the floor outside.....that one hurt......and it looks like Shawn has had enough.....because he walks over to the time keepers table and snatches up the WWF Championship, telling Vince McMahon <em>"to hell with this"</em> as he passes by him on commentary, before starting up the aisle and to the back, clearly happy enough with a count out loss to retain the Championship.</p><p> </p><p> Sid is out after him like a shot though, and grabs a hold of Michaels long hair to prevent his escape, before tossing him into the ring. Back inside and Michaels tries to escape again....this time Sid catches him by the back of the tights, and as Shawn runs around the ring, the crowd are treated to the sight of the Heartbreak Kids bare ass, which has the ladies in attendance screeching. Still with a hold of the tights, Sid brags Michaels back towards him and drives a forearm into his lower back, then whips him hard across the ring and into the turnbuckles. He charges across the ring looking to shoulder block his opponent.....but Michaels gets out of the way at the last second and Sid goes right between the top and middle turnbuckle, connecting with nothing but steel corner post. Sid slowly pulls himself away from the corner, but as he turns around he is met by a running clothesline from Michaels that sends both men tumbling over the top rope and to the outside......but Shawn holds....skins the cat back to the inside......then runs the ropes before flying at speed with a suicide dive that sends Sid crashing into the safety barrier.</p><p> </p><p> Finally gaining the upper hand, Michaels goes to work on the Challenger on the floor, even managing a very impressive body slam to the big man on the outside.....he finally rolls the big man back inside before heading up to the top, where he comes flying off with a big top rope splash that scores him his first near fall of the contest. Michaels lays a number of kicks into Sid, before cockily strutting around the ring, dusting his hands off, telling anyone who will listen that he's got this one in the bag....before heading back to the top rope. He waits for Sid to get back to his feet then drops an Axe Handle blow to the back of his head that sends Sid down to one knee. Shawn goes back to the top, and axe handle number two warrants the same result......Michaels climbs all the way up a third time.....but this time when he leaps Sid plucks him out of the air by the throat....</p><p> </p><p> .....Sid goes for the Chokeslam.... but Michaels is able to slip out of the hold at its highest point, landing behind Sid, where he stomps the back of Sids knee, then connects with the Teardrop Suplex to the big man for another two count. Shawn picks Sid back to his feet and (rather impressively) hits a big body slam then heads to the top rope once more to deliver his patented diving elbow drop. He kips up to his feet and starts prancing and dancing around the ring.....dragging a nearby camera man over from the apron and speaking into the lens, telling Nash that he hopes he's watching......because this is about to be another big win for the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels. </p><p> </p><p> He shoves the camera away and then backs into the corner, stomping on the mat to tune up the band, before letting fly with some Sweet Chin Music..........but Sid catches hold of his foot.......spins him around 360 degrees to disorient him........then Chokeslams the life right out of him. Michaels spent far too long showboating, and now it looks as though it's about to come back and bite him in the ass.......because Sid is setting up for the Powerbomb.......</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="NJr4NXD.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/NJr4NXD.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="hzDZTVJ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/hzDZTVJ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><span>http://i.imgur.com/k6DGuKj.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/2Kz9qfQ.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> .......which is when the Million Dollar Corporation come walking down the aisle. Sid drops to a knee......but he doesn't go down.......until about two seconds later......because that's when Shawn Michaels kicks him right in the face with the Sweet Chin Music. <p>In Your House is in the books.....and what an understatement it would be if I didn't say how pleased I was with how it went down....and for two reasons......the first being that I really had my doubts going into this one that my three biggest matches would deliver.....that being the Kane/Mankind showdown......the Tag Title match between Austin/Pillman and the KLiQ......and most importantly the main event itself.....historically heel vs heel matches haven't gone so well for us, so for the two undercard matches to have been so well received was a real relief......but not as much a relief as how well the WWF Championship match went. Sid is an absolute beast, and he's certainly over like rover, always has been, always will be......but when it comes to his In ring work....well let's just say that can leave something to be desired.....but Shawn Michaels has been badgering me to let the world see what he can do with Sid ever since Bret Hart gave him the match of his career back in July......and credit where credit is due, Shawn did exactly what he said he would do.....carried the big lug to a hell of a match, and I was sure to let him know after the show......even Bret was impressed.....although he was saying it through gritted teeth at the time. Speaking of Bret, both he and Owen were MiA on this show....not by design but by time restraints.....I really wanted them to factor into the event, even if it was only a promo because the Tag Title match didn't merit an appearance due to the finish.....but thems the breaks.....</p><p> </p><p> ....oh hang on.....I forgot the second reason I was so pleased with the event didn't I.....well it seems as though the near two point five million dollars spent to up our visibility and name value in Japan paid off.....because with our new deals in place, not only are we airing in Japan, but people are watching too.....I thought it would take another six to eight months for us to take that next step....but with how well received this show was by oversea's you can truly say that we are now an international company.....WCW might still have the bigger stars, but there is no doubting the fact that WE are the bigger promotion.....now we just have to make sure we stay there.</p><p> </p><p> Earthquake and Typhoon made a surprise one shot appearance at the Pay Per View....and Earthquake made sure to convince me that one shot was one shot too many, wrestling totally out of it....off his tits on drink and drugs......bye bye Shark.....and take the Shockmaster with you.</p><p> </p><p> Slight injury news, as the Nation of Dominations Nelson picked up a bruised knee in his match against the Son's of Samoa. No one was to blame and he'll be able to work through it so it's not a major problem. Anyway, onwards to Raw as we creep ever closer to November, and one of my personal favourite Pay Per Views, Survivor Series. </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43289" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p> </p><p> <strong>Preview for Monday Night Raw, Week 4, October 1996</strong> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>WWF Tag Team Championship</strong></p><p> The KLiQ © (Hall & Nash) vs The Hart Foundation (Bret & Owen)</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> Ahmed Johnson vs Jeff Jarrett</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> Marc Mero vs. Jesse James</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> The Hardy Boys vs The Nation of Domination (Kama and Nelson)</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> Al Snow vs. Kane</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> On a side note, how are people finding the match write ups at the Pay Per Views? <p>Marquee match-ups are more worth the match writing, I'd say it's hardly necessary for undercard bouts, not to take away from the good work you've been doing writing them. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

On a side note, how are people finding the match write ups at the Pay Per Views? Too long? Do people actually read them or do you just skip to the endings? Curious to know how people enjoy their write ups, because I'm open to suggestion on that (and any other) aspect of the shows.</p><p> </p><p>

Really nice IYH. I like that Shawn pulled it through yet again, but I do question his ego here. He seems to be continuing to get mouthy with Hall and Nash, and that may be a decision that comes back to bite him big time. Jarrett's return was neat too, I wonder if he is a part of the M$C or if he was after Sid for his own reasons.

Harts - I think Shawn will try to "help" again, but it won't go so well this time. The split is coming really soon.

Jeff Jarrett - Ahmed seems to have fallen off the map in the wake of the Kliq's implosion, it feels odd that just a little over a month ago I was feeling like he was on the fast track to the World title. But now here he is with nothing to do.

Marc Mero

Hardy Boys - Two crackers gonna crack.

Kane - Raven may use this opportunity to help break Al by telling him not to fight back.

Personally I don't think EVERY match needs as detailed a write-up as you give it, even on PPV. Long matches are great, but sometimes I don't have time to read them all and plus (in my experience) long matches are one of the quickest ways to burn out. But you do a really good job with it.

Week 4, October 1996

Madison Square Garden

ATT: 20,789

TV: 18.41

We are one night removed from In Your House and it's time for the number one show in all of professional wrestling, it's time for Monday Night Raw. As usual we are treated to the still images from last night.....the crowning of new Intercontinental and World Tag Team Champions.....the Million Dollar Corporation costing Psycho Sid the WWF Championship......Mankind's never say die attitude......and yes, the problems that still exist within the KLiQ.....before we take it down to ringside......where that very same group are making an appearance.......

7M1mABh.jpgtsQXS32.jpgIYJgUWD.jpgpzXetTl.jpg

.......well most of the group anyway.....because while Hall, Nash, Waltman and Credible make their way down the aisle, conspicuous by their absence are the WWF Champion Shawn Michaels and Sunny. Hall and Nash are wearing their shiny new Tag Team Titles as they enter the ring.....and Nash clearly has something to say, because he's bought a microphone with him....

"......you know, if you want to make it to the top in this business, there's three things you need.......that's the ability to be able to kick someone's ass.......devastatingly handsome good looks.......and the sense to surround yourself with people you can trust.....because believe me, in this dog eat dog business, trust is something that doesn't come easily......now obviously.....and there's a whole locker room of bodies in that back there that can tell you......there ain't nobody in the WWF that can kick ass like Kevin Nash......good looks? Well let's just say that they don't call me Big Sexy for nothing........but trust.....that's been a little bit more hard to come by......."

He goes on to say that he can trust these three men in the ring with him right now with his life.....and he USED to be able to say the same for Shawn Michaels....but recently Shawn seems to have forgotten who it was that bought him to the dance.....Shawn seems to have forgotten that it was Shawn Michaels who called Kevin Nash up, begging him to get out of his WCW Contract so that he could come up North and babysit the Boy Toy because he was getting his ass kicked on a daily basis....and Shawn seems to have forgotten the most important thing.....

"....and that is, just like the song says.....you don't tug on Superman's cape.....you don't spit into the wind.........and you don't p##s off Kevin Nash....and that's exactly what Shawn Michaels is doing right now......"

bN15JFv.jpgMC3cI3I.jpg

Oh look......it's the WWF Champion Shawn Michaels....along with the beautiful Sunny. You'd think he would be in a good mood after successfully defending his World Title against Psycho Sid.....but he looks anything but happy. He snatches a microphone from ringside and gets right into Big Sexy's face.....

"......I'm p#ssing YOU off?.....ME?.......big man believe me, the feeling is mutual.....you think I called you up, begging for your help? No, no, no, no......I called you up, I got you a job here......and I made you a goddamn superstar......I plucked YOU from career obscurity......what were you when I made that call again? A Master Blaster? The seven foot Wizard of Oz? A pink suit wearing pseudo mobster? Remind me.......Remind me how YOU bought ME to the dance......because the way I see it, it was the other way round......pal....."

Michaels says that the only reason Nash is even in the WWF to begin with, is because of Shawn Michaels.....just like the only reason he's wearing that WWF Tag Team Championship belt today is because of Shawn Michaels. Nash says that's funny.....because to him, it looked suspiciously like Shawn Michaels was about two seconds away from trying to kick Nash's teeth down his throat last night.....Michaels denies that, telling Nash that what he did, was win the match for the KLiQ.......

"......but if you want to see what me kicking your teeth down your throat REALLY looks like....I'd be happy to show you right now......."

Oh Shawn......you really don't know when to keep your mouth shut do you.....predictably Nash does not take that comment well.....and he shoves Michaels hard in the chest, throwing the Tag Team Championship down to the mat and encouraging HBK to TRY and kick him. There's a lot of shouting and pushing and shoving......and just when it looks like things are about to come to a head......

YMbnf57.jpg

.......WWF President Gorilla Monsoon comes walking out from the back. He doesn't go down to the ring however.....tempers are rather too frayed to be risking that....instead he remains at the top of the aisle, where he informs the KLiQ that while he hates to break this up.....and while he'd like nothing more than to see Kevin Nash and Shawn Michaels kill each other, Kevin Nash has other pressing business to contend with tonight.....when himself and his partner Scott Hall, put the WWF Tag Team Championships on the line........against the Hart Foundation, Bret and Owen Hart. Nash starts arguing, claiming that they only WON the Championships last night.....but Monsoon interrupts him, telling him that he might want to save his complaints for after this next announcement.....

"......because we have a little thing coming up called the Survivor Series.....and that's rather aptly titled, because Survive is exactly what the KLiQ will have to do.....when Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Sean Waltman.....team up to face four men of my choosing......but here's the doozie......since you're not exactly a cohesive unit right now......and since you want to tear into each other's throats so much......and since you're so happy to walk around threatening expulsion from your little schoolboy gang.......if you don't Survive the Survivor Series match......if you don't win.........then the KLiQ is DONE....finished.......for good.....so if you want to continue fighting amongst yourselves, then go right ahead.....because I for one will happily watch you implode...........oh and one more thing.......the first two names in that team of four that you'll be facing........are Stone Cold Steve Austin and the Loose Cannon Brian Pillman.....as you were Gentlemen......"

And with that blockbuster announcement, Monsoon turns and walks to the back.....while the KLiQ are left stunned in the middle of the ring.

It's time for our first match of the evening.....as Marc Mero looks to continue his winning ways after last nights victory over Billy Gunn, when he faces off against Jesse James. James hasn't had much to do around here recently, ever since his short lived programme teaming up with the Texas Long Riders was cut short due to Barry Windham picking up an injury. Unfortunately his last showing ended in defeat, when he and Windham and Bradshaw came out on the losing end against the Sons of Samoa........and this outing doesn't really fare any better......as Mero first rocks his jaw with a stiff left hand jab.....then finished him off with the Wild Thing shooting star press.

Mero might be celebrating.....but it doesn't last for long.....because obviously still seething from defeat last night, Billy Gunn hits the ring along with his Executive Consultant Mr Perfect. Mero tries to fight them off, but the two on one number isn't in his favour and he soon finds himself overwhelmed.....and even more so when Jesse James regains his faculties and sees the assault.....because that two on one turns into a three on one as he gets in on the action too.....

zEp3Eup.jpg

........at least until Bart Gunn comes running down the aisle with a steel chair in hand to break up the party. He doesn't actually have to use the weapon....because Perfect, Gunn and James are happy enough with the damage that they have inflicted and scatter to the outside before laughing all the way to the back while Bart Gunn tends to Mero.

We head to the back now, where we find Mankind sitting alone in a room that WOULD be pitch black, were it not for the monitor which Mankind is sat in front of illuminating the room. Through the pale glow of the screen we can clearly see that Mankind is banged up.....and the enormous bandage covering his brow has got spots of blood still seeping through it. It's difficult to make out what the damaged individual is watching, but it looks to be a grainy video of a young man bizarrely jumping from what appears to be the roof of his house.....whatever it is, Mankind has a huge smile on his face while watching it......at least until Al Snow walks into the room.

Mankind quickly stops the tape, leaving the monitor displaying a sea of static before proceeding to stare at the floor. Al asks him what he was watching but Mankind doesn't answer....instead Snow asks him how he's feeling.....again to no answer. Eventually Snow sits down beside Mankind, and tells him that he didn't need to do what he did last night....he doesn't have to suffer for other people's amusement.....and especially not for a lowlife loser like Raven. That finally gets a response from Mankind.....who snaps his head around quickly, telling Al not to talk about Raven like that.....

".....Raven is the only person around here to accept me for me....he's the only one to ever.....EVER.....put his body on the line for me.....and if you would only open your eyes....and put the stupid plastic Head down.....then you would realise, that the only other voice you would need to hear.....would be his, leading you to glory....."

Snow asks Mankind, if Raven really accepts you for you.....then why is he trying to change you into something.....or someone you don't want to be.....why did he feed you to Kane last night.....who is Jack? Mankind says that everything Raven does, he does for Mankind's own good.....even if Mankind doesn't understand the lesson, it doesn't make Raven any lesser of a teacher......and as for Jack ".....Jack is a ghost of the past.....and best left buried for the safety and well being of everyone.....especially me....."

".....Jack is a Maestro of the Macabre.....and Jack wouldn't have let that punishment last night go unanswered......"

oJqc7jC.jpgNqqfCgY.jpg

This little room must be a lot bigger than it looks......because now Raven and Bill DeMott have joined the party too. Raven tells Mankind that had he listened to him last night, all of this pain and suffering could have been avoided....."oh, there would still have been pain and suffering.....but it wouldn't have been yours.....Jack would have made sure of that.....it's the scars of our past that define who we are today......use the scars of your past Mick.....use the scars of Jack's past, to leave a mark on the future of everyone and everything the WWF has to offer......trust in me......to set him free....."

Much like last night however, Mankind shakes his head, sadly telling Raven that he can't.....not yet anyway. Again Al Snow tells Mankind not to buy into Ravens mind games.....and that he doesn't need to do anything....but Raven silences him with a backhanded slap across the face. Snow looks set to beat the snot out of Raven, but Bill DeMott quickly puts himself in front of the smirking Raven, who tells Snow that.....

"......the thing about choices Al, is everybody is free to make them.....what they can't choose however, are the consequences that come along with those choices.....you on the other hand, knew the consequences well before you made your choice......servitude....heh.......it's such a simple word for such a difficult task....."

Raven goes on to tell Snow that since he is so concerned about the punishment Mankind received last night, he's taken it upon himself to book Al in a little match........against Kane......so go out there and show that big bully who's boss. With that Raven steps out from behind DeMott, slaps Al on the shoulder and then leaves the room, leaving DeMott and Snow stood face to face staring a hole through each other, as we go to commercial.

The world got a preview of the depths of depravity that Kane was willing to sink to last night, when they witnessed the dissection of Mankind at In Your House.....a preview of waits for the Undertaker in just four short weeks at the Survivor Series....and tonight.....tonight it's Al Snow's turn to face the monster under the bed....because his new "Master" has prepared a little treat for him.....a one on one match with Kane.

Unlike the rest of the Flock, who usually get an escort by one of the "Family" members to the ring, Al Snow's only second out here is Head.....and she's next to useless against the behemoth that is Kane....not that Al doesn't seek advice from her between beatings....in the end though Snow is out matched, out muscled......and basically brutalised by the Big Red Machine, who has the Undertaker in his sights.....and while Al doesn't receive the level of abuse that Mankind did last night, Kane is still able to put him down and out with a Tombstone Piledriver.

Once they finish scraping the remains of Al Snow up off the mat, we are treated to the sounds of the KLiQ's music.....as (rather unusually) Justin Credible makes his way down the aisle with a microphone in hand. He climbs into the ring and lets the crowd know that since the rest of the KLiQ will be fighting for survival at the aptly titled Survivor Series Pay Per View, that leaves him with nothing to do......other than to offer a little game of Survival himself.....against a man who has done nothing but bad mouth the KLiQ for the last six months......

".....so Jerry Lawler, get your ass in this ring, because Justin Credible has something to say....."

HHdul53.jpg

The King looks a bit taken aback at first, but he's never been one to back down from a challenge.....and a few seconds later the headset is removed and Lawler is standing in the ring in front of Credible. Justin tells Lawler that he's sick and tired of hearing the Burger King of Memphis running his mouth on commentary week in and week out.....so he's going to do something about it.....by Challenging Lawler to a match at Survivor Series. Lawler laughs at this, telling Credible that he's on......because the King can think of nothing better to do, than slap the taste out of the mouth of one of the KLiQ "......even if it is the one that nobody cares about.....you know, the worst thing that ever happened to you was losing that yellow jock strap that you used to wear to cover that ugly mug of yours.....because now everyone can see how hideous you really are......you look like a rat that's lost his cheese......"

Credible scowls, telling Lawler to laugh it up....get all the insults out that he can.....because after Survivor Series he's going to lose his soap box once and for all......and that's the second part of his challenge.....because if he's half the man that he claims to be, he'll accept the terms......and those terms are simple.....when Justin Credible wins at the PPV, Jerry Lawler hangs up his Raw headset for good......and the KLiQ get to choose his replacement.....no more biased commentary.....no more bad mouthing the KLiQ week in week out.....there will finally be a voice of reason sat at that table.....and it WON'T be Jerry Lawler. The King looks slightly hesitant at first....but after some goading by Credible, who questions his manhood Lawler finally agrees.......but under one condition......

".....I put my spot at the commentary table up....then you have to put something up too....and since by looking at the state of you, the only thing you have to offer is half a pack of gum and a subscription to the Rodents Monthly magazine....I'll have to get a little creative.....so what I suggest it this.....when I win......you do the world a favour, put that yellow jock strap back on over your ugly face.....and stop giving all these nice kids in the audience nightmares about the freaky man sized rat that they saw prancing about the ring......you win, I go.....I win, Justin Credible goes.....and Aldo Montoya comes back....."

Now it's Credible that looks hesitant.....he's not so confident now that HE has to put something on the line as well.....but after Lawler returns the favour, goading him about HIS manhood, Credible finally accepts....and we have another match for Survival scheduled for just four weeks time.

From there we go straight to the back.....the locker rooms to be more precise, where we find Chris Jericho getting his head bounced off the side of a stone wall by Lance Storm. According to the commentators, they have been informed that Storm jumped his former tag team partner from behind, and Jericho has been able to do little about it since. Storm throws Lionheart hard into a metal locker, putting a dent in the door.....just as security arrive to break it up. Storm throws his arms up in surrender, but not before laying a stiff kick to the ribs of Jericho, turning and exiting the room.....damage done.

The Hardys are coming into this one on a wave of momentum....and fresh off a victory against a team of bonafide monsters last night, when they defeated Earthquake and Typhoon, the Natural Disasters.....not happy to rest on their laurels, the Legion of Doom wasted no time in booking Matt and Jeff in a match with a team of more modern day monsters......straight and sober modern day monsters too....(I'm looking at you Earthquake).....Big Nelson is working through a slightly bruised knee coming off the Nations victory over the Son's of Samoa last night, so his involvement in this one is slightly limited......

.......and it was even more limited come the end of the match....because surprisingly, and maybe because the Nation (wrongly) assumed that Matt and Jeff would be a pushover, Faarooq and Scorpio have opted to remain in the back......

9iWOj1g.jpg5xwXg1I.jpgVoT036M.jpg

.....meaning that in a surprising twist of fate (you see what I did there?) it's the Sons of Samoa that have the numbers advantage over the Nation as they casually walk out from the back during this one. They don't actually physically interfere in this one....that would be cheating....but they do pose enough of a distraction that the Hardys are able to knock Nelson off the ring apron with a double dropkick to the back, then finish off Kama with a Twist of Fate, Swanton Bomb combination, picking up another impressive victory for their troubles.

The Hardy's head to the back with the victory in the bag....and the Sons of Samoa hit the ring with microphones.....just as Faarooq and Scorpio come running out from the back to join their Stablemates in the aisle. It's young Rocky that does most of the talking for the Samoan's....because what he's lacking in experience in the ring, he more than makes up for on the mic. He tells the Nation.....but mainly Faarooq.....that they have had enough of the unfair numbers advantage.....that they have had enough of the four on three's......and Rocky Maivia has had enough, of hearing Faarooq bring up his fathers name and legacy week in week out.....

Maivia says that his father was a trailblazer in this business.....his father was one half of the first African American WWF Tag Team Champions.....and he didn't do it by bitching and complaining every time something didn't go his way....and he didn't do it by blaming his losses on everybody else.....he came down to this ring and he handled his business like a man.....the same way that he raised his son to do......so that's exactly what is going to happen at the Survivor Series.....because the Nation can come out.....they can bring all four members, it doesn't matter.....because the Son's of Samoa are going to handle THEIR business like men.....by whipping your ass.

Faarooq says that's all fine and dandy, they can do this elimination style......but unless the Samoan's fourth team mate is the invisible man, they still seem to be short a member.....Maivia tells him not to worry ".......because while you may CALL yourselves the Nation.....we COME from a nation......and there's a whole nation back home, just waiting to shut your mouth.....so don't worry about our fourth man.....worry about your four men.....because The Son's of Samoa....we're gonna kick your ass....

We head to the back now, where Dok Hendrix is standing by with the Million Dollar Corporation.....who seem to have expanded as a group since the last time we saw them on Monday Night Raw, with the apparent addition of Jeff Jarrett into the fold. It's this subject that Hendrix is most interested in, asking DIBiase about his newest recruit....as well as the fact that the Corporation directly cost Psycho Sid the WWF Title last night.....

.....DiBiase says of course they directly cost Sid the title....the Corporation doesn't do anything indirectly....the Corporation wanted the WWF Intercontinental Championship, and thanks to Rich Steiner that's exactly what we got....directly from the hands of the British Bulldog.....and next, thanks to this man right here (slapping Jeff Jarrett on the back) we will be bringing home the WWF World Championship next.

Hendrix asks Jarrett why he chose to join the Corporation, Jarrett says that's simple....for months now old Double J, Jeff Jarrett has been overlooked around here. Someone in the back obviously had it in for Jeff, because he's barely been seen on WWF TV for months, let alone on Pay Per View....but with Ted DiBiase guiding his career, the Million Dollar Man will make sure that no one overlooks Jarrett again......just like Jeff will make sure, that "....that big dummy Psycho Sid realises, what a mistake he made when he turned his back on Mr. DiBiase....but then again, ha-ha.....I'd say he's realising it already.....because with the Corporation by his side last night, you would have had a guaranteed new WWF Champion.....instead of the seven foot guitar stand that we really got....."

Jarrett tells Sid to watch the next match closely....because what Jeff does to Ahmed Johnson next, will be nothing compared to what's in store for that big dummy if he gets in the way of the Million Dollar Corporation.

Ahmed Johnson has had one eye on the Corporation, ever since they cost Ahmed a shot at the WWF Championship a few weeks back. If he wants to get back into the Title mix, then a win here against the slightly repackaged Jeff Jarrett would go a long way towards doing that. Jarrett on the other hand is looking to show the world the potential that Ted DiBiase sees in him.....and a victory over Ahmed would certainly propel Double J a good few rungs up that World Heavyweight Contenders ladder.

These two had a decent match....nothing spectacular, but nothing terrible either...they know each other well enough, having tangled on a number of occasions in the early months of 1996....back then they were clashing over the chance to face the WWF Intercontinental Champion, now however they both have one eye on the bigger prize....the biggest prize....which is why it comes of no real surprise to see.....

.....the rest of The Million Dollar Corporation make their way out from the back and begin sneaking their way around the ringside area, looking for the perfect opportunity to interfere in this one for their new found friend.....luckily for Ahmed, he's made a few friends along the way too....

tTABVbX.jpgw3aaloG.jpg

......because before any interference can take place, two men who paid a heavy price at the hands DiBiase's group last night come running out....former WWF Intercontinental Champion, the British Bulldog.....and the man that Jeff Jarrett El Kabong-ed out of the WWF Title last night, Psycho Sid. Davey Boy goes straight for Rich Steiner, while Sid starts clubbering Southern Justice.....unfortunately the action doesn't remain on the outside....as the five men eventually spill into the ring and we soon have a mass brawl, that gives the official little option but to call for the bell.

Winner: No Contest

If the crowd were slightly indifferent to the match they just witnessed, their reaction to the brawl that followed was anything but....in fact they absolutely loved it as these seven men went at it toe for toe and fist for fist. The Million Dollar Corporation had the numbers advantage, but then Psycho Sid picked up a steel chair.....and the sight of Psycho Sid with a steel chair is enough to make anyone reconsider their options.....and DiBiase quickly withdraws his troops, sending them to the back to fight another day, while Sid, Bulldog and Ahmed celebrate in the ring.

We come back from commercial break just in time for our main event of the evening.....as the KLiQ duo of Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, put their (very) newly won WWF Tag Team Championships on the line, against the Hart Brothers who are desperate to reign together as Co-Champions....especially if it means taking the gold from the KLiQ. For once the Champions are actually at the disadvantage in this one, having been in a heavy hitting hard fought battle just last night against Steve Austin and Brian Pillman to win the titles......while Bret and Owen had the night off.....so the Challengers are fully rested going into this one.

And they definitely controlled a good portion of the match....but the KLiQ are able to drag themselves back into the contest and by the end of the match it's a more even affair....at least until it all breaks down....because that's when Bret Hart and Kevin Nash find themselves brawling on the floor......and Scott Hall finds himself locked in Owen Harts Sharpshooter, smack bang in the middle of the ring......and finally......finally, it looks as though the Hart Brothers are going to achieve their dream......because Scott Hall is about to quit......

bN15JFv.jpg

......when Shawn Michaels hits the ring....and hits Owen Hart in the jaw.....with Some Sweet Chin Music.....right in front of the official, who has no other option but to call for the bell. The Harts are going to have their hands raised here.....but they won't be taking home the gold.

Winner: The Hart Foundation (via Disqualification)

The Heartbreak Kid plucks the Tag Team Championships from the timekeepers table and thrusts them at an annoyed looking Kevin Nash and Scott Hall.....as an equally annoyed Bret and Owen Hart retreat up the aisle. Nash screams at Michaels that they didn't want, ask for, or need his help.....but Shawn has a cocky looking smile on his face, telling them that they'll be thanking him in a minute.....

YMbnf57.jpg

......which is when Gorilla Monsoon comes walking out from the back and stands at the entrance beside Owen and Bret. He has a microphone, and tells Shawn Michaels that because of his actions, he's just made the decision process a little bit easier for him......because he's found the other half of the KLiQ's Survivor Series opponents......and those two men.....are Bret Hart and Owen Hart. Hall and Nash glare at Michaels, who still has that cocky smile on his face.....he grabs a microphone of his own....telling Monsoon that "....you're nothing if not predictable fat man......." He asks Gorilla if that's official? That at the Survivor Series it will be Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Steve Austin and Brian Pillman....against the KLiQ?

Monsoon says yes, it's official.....and if the KLiQ looses, then the party is over....the KLiQ disbands and goes their separate ways.....their reign of terror is over. Michaels does a little mock tremble in fear.....before telling Gorilla that he has a little bit of bad news for him......he says that he has been speaking to his attorney Clarence Mason....and it turns out that when he became the WWF Champion, he signed a new contract that financially reflected his position in the company.....

".....or in terms that even a moron like you can understand.....I got a big fat pay rise.....but in that contract.....buried at the bottom in very, very fine print.....was a little clause.....and that clause was put in place to protect myself against cruel and unusual stipulations....stipulations like say, I don't know.....being forced to break up the band just because some power hungry monkey says so......."

Monsoon tells Michaels to get to the point ".....what are you getting at?"

.....what I'm getting at, is the fact that while I can't change YOUR stipulation.....I DO have the power, to add a little stipulation of my own....so this is what's going to happen.....it's going to be the Harts there....teaming up with two men they can't stand in Steve Austin and Brian Pillman.....against the best looking WWF Champion in history, Shawn Michaels....Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Sean Waltman......if your little hand picked patsies there win, then the KLiQ is done.....buttttttt.....and Kev, this is where you're going to want to thank me.....if we win.....then your four guys there....can NEVER challenge.....for a Championship that's held by the KLiQ again......not my World Title.....not those shiny Tag Titles there.....no future titles that we win.....they can't even challenge Justin Credible for a shot at his Beer Pong Championship of the dorm that he won back in college.....no shots, no more....that's the stip....deal with it.....and now Kevin Nash.....you can thank me....."

And for the first time in a long time, that's exactly what Nash does.....as he slaps his team mate on the back with a huge smile on his face.....and in a scene not witnessed in quite some weeks, the KLiQ stand united....for now at least.....but whether they will still be united come Survivor Series is anybody's guess.

And the record ratings continue to come in.....this week we destroyed the competition with a massive 18.41 to Nitro's 15.10.....the only match of note was WCW's most constant performer Ric Flair, beating Vader in what was to be fair, an excellent match.....the rest of the show was garbage....and that was fresh off the heels of one of the bigger name WCW Pay Per Views, Halloween Havoc....which you think would have popped a rating......but Havoc was even worse than Nitro so I doubt many people tuned in after that display....

.....to be fair, if they had ended the show about twenty minutes earlier than they actually did, it might not be remembered for being so bad.....because Bam Bam Bigelow did his best to show all the doubters and naysayers that he is a worthy World Champion, when he successfully defended the big gold belt in an absolute classic against the Macho Man Randy Savage.....although to be fair, even at his age, it's pretty hard to have a bad match with Savage......and you'd think that was the main even right? The World Champion successfully defending his Title in an absolute barnburner? Yeah you'd think that.....but this is WCW....so you'd be thinking wrong......the actual main event of the show? Hulk Hogan teaming up with The Giant of all people, to defeat The Sullivan's....Kevin and Dave......Kevin and Dave, they sound like the Aussie neighbours you'd invite over for a BBQ....and not only did they have no hope of following Bigelow and Savages match....they didn't even try....for a main event that people paid to watch it was absolutely atrocious....and the rest of the card wasn't much better....a quick run down would be.....

Giant & Hogan defeated the Sullivan's - C+

Bam Bam Bigelow defeated Randy Savage to retain the WCW Championship - A

Diamond Dallas Page defeated Disco inferno to retain the US Championship - C

Booker T beat One Man Gang - C

The Gambler defeated Duke Droese - D

Rocco Rock defeated Johnny Grunge - C-

Buddy Lee Parker beat Ice attain - D

The Blue Bloods retained the Tag Team Titles against the American Males - B-

Following the poor showing, Sky Sports (who carry WCW events in the U.K.) decided to move future Pay Per Views to a later start time....more Late Night than anything....so even Sky can see what an embarrassment the main event was.....things going from bad to worse for Bischoff.....I should send them Russo down there.....because I doubt even he could do a worse job.....and he wanted Al Snow and Raven to wrestle in a Head on a Pole match at In Your House!

There's not really much to report on our end.....other than the fact that Billy Gunn's Executive Consultant, Mr. Perfect has been putting the hours in, training his ass off....apparently he's desperate to get back in the ring if his back can keep up with him.....we'll see.....I'm certainly not going to say no to having a worker of Curt's ability back on the main roster.....but not at the expense of his health.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions regarding the write ups....off the back of that I'm probably going to save the more in depth write ups for the marquee matches, or matches that need it for now, mainly because it's taking me an age to write the Pay Per Views up lol.
