There's still quite a few people left to debut. I can only hope that I can find tv time for everyone. I did make a few changes to the names of The Southern Rockers. Steve Doll became Steven Doll. Rex King became Timothy King. I am glad that you're enjoying the diary so far. I hope that the Clash can live up to the hype.</span></p>

JR talks about having the best main event tonight when we will see Ric Flair defend the NWA World Heavyweight title against Terry Taylor. JR asks for predictions and Dangerously immediately says that Ric Flair will put Terrific Terry in his place. Schiavone makes a prediction that we will see a brand new Champion tonight. Dangerously replies that either way they are going to see a man victorious because he is going to defeat Missy Hyatt in their arm wrestling match and put her back in the kitchen where she belongs. JR warns Dangerously not to get too overconfident but Dangerously says that the day a woman beats him in anything is the day that he truly ceases to be a man. It begins with the argument the two men had on WCW Saturday Night where Zbyszko told Sting that he would only face him if Sting put his rematch on the line. Sting accepted the challenge and this only made Zbyszko smile big. Then the video shifts to last night where Sting trapped </em><em><strong>Bill Irwin</strong></em><em> in the Scorpion Deathlock and got a submission victory. After the match, Sting did not get a chance to celebrate his victory. Instead, he was immediately attacked by his Clash opponent. Zbyszko landed two straight piledrivers on Sting before officials were able to get in the ring and break things up. A neckbrace was put on Sting and he was stretchered from the building with people wondering whether he would be able to even show up for this match tonight. It is the opening bout here at the Clash so will he show up or will he have to forfeit his rematch with Ric Flair?]</em></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> <strong>Match #1</strong></p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45394" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p><img alt="LUpDm9F.jpg" data-src="https://imgur.com/LUpDm9F.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="OamO7hX.jpg" data-src="https://imgur.com/OamO7hX.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="1cY6wna.jpg" data-src="https://imgur.com/1cY6wna.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p> <strong>Winner Receives Sting's Rematch Clause</strong></p><p><strong> 20 Minute Time Limit</strong></p><p><strong> Larry Zbyszko vs. Sting</strong></p><p> </p><p> <em>[Following Larry Zbyszko's entrance, Sting's music played but no one came out to the ring. Larry Zbyszko got on the microphone and crowed about putting Sting out of action tonight. He says that Sting will probably never wrestle again. Then, he tells the referee to begin counting. Referee Randy Anderson has no choice but to begin counting Sting out of the ring. Sting's music hits again and out comes Sting, trying to make his way to the ring despite wearing a neckbrace. Zbyszko tells the referee to count faster but is only interrupting the count. As Sting gets halfway up the ramp, Zbyszko comes rushing in and exchanges punches with Sting! Sting blocks a punch and then raises Zbyszko with a military press slam, slamming him down on the ramp. Sting continues his way to the ring, stepping inside and moving back against the ropes. Zbyszko slowly follows Sting into the ring and the two begin exchanging blows with Zbyszko hitting a clothesline on the neckbrace. Zbyszko tears off the neckbrace and begins focusing his attack on the neck of Sting. Zbyszko places his foot on the throat of Sting like he did last night but he only gets a count of four before he has to release as Randy Anderson threatens a disqualification. Zbyszko continues his focus on the neck, going for the Piledriver but Sting blocks it! Sting raises Zbyszko over with a back body drop and both men are left on the mat in pain.]</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> [The referee begins making the ten count as both men are down. Around six, Zbyszko begins pulling his way to his feet. Both men make it up by the count of nine and Zbyszko falls backward into the turnbuckle. Sting grabs his neck but charges toward Zbyszko and goes for the Stinger Splash but Zbyszko moves and Sting catches the corner instead. Sting staggers away from the corner and Zbyszko grabs him, landing a Shoulderbreaker. Zbyszko makes a cover but Sting kicks out at two. Zbyszko looks frustrated at the referee but then maintains his attack on Sting. Zbyszko lifts Sting in a delayed vertical suplex position but Sting manages to land on his feet behind Zbyszko! Sting turns Zbyszko around and hits a tombstone piledriver on the Living Legend! The crowd begins cheering and stomping their feet and clapping their hands. The crowd wills Sting forward and Sting Irish whips Zbyszko into the corner. Sting charges for the second time and he hits the Stinger Splash on Zbyszko! Zbyszko falls to the mat and Sting grabs the legs -- Scorpion Deathlock! Zbyszko shakes his head, refusing to submit. The referee asks Zbyszko again and Zbyszko has no choice but to nod his head. Inside the ring, Sting gets his arm raised and pulls himself up to his feet. Sting celebrates with the crowd before the lights begin to flicker in the arena. Sting looks around, confused for a moment. Then a voice rings out through the P.A. system. The voice asks Sting if he really thinks he defeated </em><em><strong>The Black Scorpion</strong></em><em>. The voice laughs and says that he only defeated The Black Scorpion's emissary. He says that The Four Horsemen were only precursors to the true Black Scorpion, much like the biblical Four Horsemen. Sting looks upset in the ring as the voice continues, telling Sting that his destruction is inevitable. The only question is how long he will survive. These two teams are two of the top teams in professional wrestling. Last month at Starrcade 1990 The Horsemen nearly defeated Doom for the World Tag Team titles. The match begins with some good back and forth action between the two teams before things settle down with The Horsemen taking control over Rick Steiner in their corner. They use the general heel tactics of enticing Scott into the ring so that they can double team his brother behind the referee's back. Anderson catches Rick with a knee lift and then a swinging neckbreaker to send the Dogfaced Gremlin to the mat. Anderson tags in his partner and Barry Windham locks the Clawhold on Rick Steiner! The crowd works to try and get Rick back into the match but it looks like he might fade out to the Claw, taught to Windham by his father! Rick manages to fight back and take down Barry Windham with a Steinerline before crawling toward his corner. As the match reaches the halfway point of the time limit, Rick tags in Scott Steiner and Windham tags in Arn Anderson. Scott takes down Anderson with a Steinerline and then an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Barry Windham enters the ring and he takes an overhead belly-to-belly suplex for his trouble! In comes Rick Steiner and he begins brawling with Barry Windham! Scott twirls his index finger around, calling for the Frankensteiner. He Irish whips Anderson to the ropes -- reversed! Anderson catches Scott with the Anderson Spinebuster! Anderson says it's over and makes the cover but only gets a two count when the pin is broken up by Rick Steiner! Both teams continue fighting in the ring as the referee tries to get the four men separated. '2001' begins to play and out comes Ric Flair to join Schiavone. He looks at Schiavone and says that somebody told him there's a party going on tonight following Dixie Dynamite. He says to take a good look at him. He's a man that's custom made from head to toe. He has taken on and beaten the best that professional wrestling has to offer and now he's facing off with Terry Taylor? Really? This is the best that WCW has to offer right now? Flair tells Taylor that he's going to walk that aisle tonight against the best in the world. Tonight, after Flair beats Taylor, he says that he might give Taylor's wife a ride on Space Mountain. Remember, it might be the oldest ride in the park but it still has the longest line. Whoo! Flair says that tonight he is not going to lose the NWA World Heavyweight title. When you walk that aisle against the Nature Boy, you learn that to be the man you've got to beat the man. The match begins inside the ring where Steamboat has an obvious advantage in technical wrestling. Steamboat hits an early headscissors takedown on Hayes and makes a quick cover but only gets a one count. Steamboat tries multiple pin combinations, include the small package and the sunset flip but Hayes doesn't remain down for very long. Steamboat goes for a dropkick but Hayes avoids it and Steamboat lands hard on his back and the back of his head. Hayes picks up Steamboat and throws him over the top rope to the floor at ringside! Paul E. Dangerously reminds everyone that there's no DQ so anything is legal in this match. Hayes joins Steamboat at ringside and puts in a few stomps to the head of the Dragon before grabbing a metal folding chair. He brings the chair down on the back of Steamboat! Steamboat cries out in pain and Hayes hits him again with the chair! Hayes picks up Steamboat and sends him with an Irish whip to the guardrail. Hayes charges but Steamboat lowers his head and back body drops Hayes into the front row. Steamboat is hurt but manages to pull Hayes back to ringside. Steamboat tosses Hayes back in the ring and The Dragon heads to the top turnbuckle as Hayes slowly makes his way to his feet. Hayes staggers a moment and Steamboat leaps with the Cross Body but Hayes uses the momentum to flip himself on top, hooking the leg of the Dragon:]</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> [....1....</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> ....2....</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> ...Kickout!]</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> [Ricky Steamboat barely manages to kick out before the three count. Von Erich, obviously, has the advantage because he hasn't been wrestling as long as Hayes has been. We've gone over halfway through the twenty minute time limit as Von Erich locks the Iron Claw on Hayes! After about thirty seconds, Von Erich releases and helps Ricky Steamboat to his feet. He points to the top turnbuckle and Steamboat looks torn about what to do before he begins ascending the turnbuckle. Von Erich pulls up Hayes and Steamboat leaps with the Diving Cross Body! Dangerously leans against the ropes as </em><em><strong>Missy Hyatt</strong></em><em> makes her way down to the ring. She high fives the fans along the way before entering the ring. After the second time, Hyatt removes her jacket to reveal a tight, low-cut spandex outfit! Dangerously's jaw drops as he cannot help but stare at the beautiful Missy Hyatt. Hyatt walks to the arm wrestling table and Dangerously stands there staring at Hyatt. Hyatt grabs Dangerously's hand and brings it to the table. The official starts the match and Hyatt immediately wins! The official raises Missy Hyatt's arm in victory and Dangerously realizes just what happened! Two veterans stepping in the ring in this one on one bout with Chuck O'Connor and Brian Pillman standing at ringside. Race gets the early advantage on Luger, having a bit more experience than the Total Package. Race brings Luger over with an early gutwrench suplex and makes a quick cover only to have Luger kick out at two. Race gets up and strikes Luger with a quick running knee drop before tossing Luger through the ropes at the feet of Chuck O'Connor. Brian Pillman comes running around the ring and the referee drops down to separate him and O'Connor. He escorts Pillman back to his corner, leaving Luger open for O'Connor to run him into the ring post before tossing Luger back inside the ring. A smiling Harley Race continues his advantage, focusing in on the neck and back of Luger. He locks Luger in the Indian Deathlock, trying to pull a submission out of Luger but Luger refuses to give in. Luger eventually makes it to the ropes to break the hold. Race releases the hold and lifts Luger, dropping him with a scoop slam before heading to the top turnbuckle. Race leaps with the Diving Headbutt but Luger rolls out of the way and Race crashes into the mat. The crowd gets solidly behind The Total Package, helping him make his way to his feet. Luger pulls up a visibly tired Race, who seems to have punched himself out. Luger sends Race to the ropes and catches him with a scoop powerslam. Luger calls for the Human Torture Rack but Chuck O'Connor climbs onto the apron! Brian Pillman rushes around and grabs the legs of O'Connor, yanking him down. The video shows each victor but focuses it's longest recap on the main event and the thirty minute draw between <strong>Ric Flair</strong> and <strong>Terry Taylor</strong>.<p> </p><p> -From the recap video, we move to the announce booth where it's now <strong>Jim Ross</strong> and <strong>Eric Bischoff</strong>. Bischoff explains that he is substituting for Paul E. Dangerously because Dangerously has not been seen since the end of the Clash. Bischoff and Ross speculate that it's because of his arm wrestling loss to Missy Hyatt. They turn their attention to the main event tonight where Bill Irwin will step in the ring with Brian Pillman as Pillman prepares for his NWA United States title match on WCW Saturday Night. Ross sends us to the ring for the WCW debut of The Fabulous Ones.</p><p> </p><p> -In an extremely short match, The Fabulous Ones(Lane-C, Keirn-C-) defeated The State Patrol(Parker-D+, Wright-D- in 3:32 when Stan Lane defeated Sgt. Buddy Lee Parker by pinfall...C-</p><p> </p><p> -From the ring, we move to a prerecorded interview with NWA Television Champion <strong>Z-Man</strong>. Z-Man talks about being the champion and that he doesn't plan to ever let this title go. He hypes the upcoming match with Bobby Eaton on WCW Saturday Night. He says that Eaton might have gotten the upper hand at Starrcade last year but this is a new year and it's the year of the Z-Man.</p><p> </p><p> -In an extremely short match, Barry Windham© defeated Frankie Lancaster(D) in 3:34 by pinfall with a Superplex...C-</p><p> </p><p> -A video begins to play inside what appears to be a luxury restaurant. <strong>Ric Flair</strong> is shown seated at a table on his own with lobster on the table in front of him. There's, also, a bottle of champagne on the table. It looks like Flair might be celebrating still being the champ. Flair's table gets approached by <strong>Ricky Morton</strong>. In his jean jacket and jeans, Morton looks out of place in this fancy restaurant. Flair tells Morton that he doesn't belong here and suggests a burger joint up the road. Morton says that he knows he is a better wrestler than Ric Flair and he wants the opportunity to prove it. He challenges Flair to meet him on WCW Saturday Night. To punctuate his challenge, Morton splashes Flair with a glass of the expensive champagne. Flair stands up, looking ready to come to blows. Instead, he agrees to the match and tells Morton that he's going to break his leg.</p><p> </p><p> -In an extremely short match, Ricky Morton(C-) defeated Mike Sharpe(D) in 3:51 by pinfall with a Diving Crossbody...C-</p><p> </p><p> -We go to another pre-recorded promo. This one features <strong>Kevin Von Erich</strong>. Von Erich says that when he came to the ring at the Clash, he wasn't looking to give Ricky Steamboat an advantage. He was simply keeping a lone Freebird from winning a match. He says that for years the Von Erichs have looked to destroy the Freebirds and now he has that chance. There is only one lone Freebird left and that man is Michael Hayes. He challenges Hayes to meet him in a match at WrestleWar, promising to end the Freebird legacy for good.</p><p> </p><p> -In a decent match, Brian Pillman(C+) defeated Bill Irwin(C-) in 10:06 by pinfall with an Air Pillman...C+</p><p> </p><p> -Following the victory, <strong>Brian Pillman</strong> celebrates inside the ring. This celebration is cut short when Wild <strong>Bill Irwin</strong> pushes himself to his feet. He grabs his whip and strikes Pillman with the whip! Pillman is definitely shocked and hurt by the crack of the whip. Pillman tries to fight back but Irwin keeps him at length with the bullwhip. Instead, it's the arrival of <strong>Lex Luger</strong> that turns the tide! Luger slides in on the opposite side and takes down Irwin with a clothesline. Irwin rolls out of the ring. With Irwin dispatched, Luger and Pillman go face-to-face in the ring. These two men will meet on WCW Saturday Night, They shake hands as the show comes to an end.</p><p></p></div></div><div></div></blockquote></div><p></p>

Now we come to the live edition of WCW Saturday Night. It will take place from the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois. Our main event was made on the Power Hour and will be a defense of the NWA World Heavyweight title. </span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"><strong>Ric Flair</strong></span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"> defends the title against Rock 'N' Roll Express member </span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"><strong>Ricky Morton</strong></span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;">. It is possible that Morton could win his very first NWA World Heavyweight title from Ric Flair. But the leader of the Four Horsemen will definitely not be giving away his title without a fight.</span><p><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"> -We have learned that the announcers will be making a very important announcement on this show regarding the future of WCW. The last major announcement was made at the Clash of the Champions when </span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"><strong>Eric Bischoff</strong></span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"> announced the creation of the WCW World Six Man Tag Team titles. We have been told that this announcement will be even bigger than that. At this point all we can do is speculate on what this announcement might be. Make sure you tune in live on WCW Saturday Night to see what this announcement is.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"> -Made last week, we will see </span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"><strong>Lex Luger</strong></span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"> defend the NWA United States title against </span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"><strong>Brian Pillman</strong></span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;">. These are two fan favorites that will be stepping in the ring in one on one fashion. Pillman is a former NWA United States Tag Team Champion along with the Z-Man. That title was won almost one year ago to the date as Pillman looks to take the United States title away from The Total Package. At the Clash, Luger lifted Harley Race in the Human Torture Rack, picking up a submission victory against the veteran. The question now is whether or not Luger can do the same to the high flying Pillman.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"> -Having spoken of </span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"><strong>Z-Man</strong></span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;">, he will be defending the NWA Television title on this show against his rival </span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"><strong>Bobby Eaton</strong></span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;">. The last time these two men met it went to a 10 minute time limit draw. This time, the time limit has been raised to 20 minutes. This could give Bobby Eaton, now with </span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"><strong>Jim Cornette</strong></span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;">, enough time to win the title. It might also give the Z-Man enough time to prove that he can defeat Beautiful Bobby. Eaton beat Z-Man at Starrcade and then they went to that time limit draw. Is third time the charm for Eaton? Make sure you tune in and find out.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"> -We will also see another title match as </span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"><strong>Doom</strong></span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"> issues an open challenge contest for the NWA World Tag Team titles. After a victory over </span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"><strong>The Southern Boys</strong></span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"> at the Clash, </span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"><strong>Teddy Long</strong></span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"> has told us here at the Wrestling Observer that there are no teams in WCW or the NWA that can defeat his team. With that being said, he has issued this open challenge to any team that was not part of WCW before the Clash of the Champions. We do not know what team will show up live on WCW Saturday Night. But they better be ready for a tough match with the NWA World Tag Team Champions.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"> -Plus we will see </span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"><strong>Sting</strong></span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"> against </span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"><strong>Mike Sharpe</strong></span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;">, </span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"><strong>Kevin Von Erich</strong></span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"> against the Desperados </span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"><strong>Dutch Mantell</strong></span><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"> and more surprises on a live television show. Dutch Mantell vs. <strong>Kevin Von Erich</strong></p><p>

NWA World Heavyweight Title Match</p><p>

30 Minute Time Limit Or TV Time Remaining</p><p>

<strong>Ric Flair</strong> defends vs. Ricky Morton</p><p>

Comments: <em>Though, at some point, we will see the "TV Time Remaining" come into play and lead to a draw. It could be here.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Comments On The Diary In General: Love the Dusty Finish -- yes, it was misused in the television era -- but in both TEW and in OTL bookers rely on clean finishes too much, and the feud never gets to build past one match. In theory, and in practice, it's a great way to get heat. Of course, this finish begs one question: Does Terry have what it takes to go a full hour with Flair?</p>

<p><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;">I just wanted everyone to know that I am going to be coming back to this diary soon. I will be running both this one and the USPW diary. I hope that everyone enjoys them both. Thank you to everyone who voted for this diary last month where it won Legendary Diary of the Month. Thank you to anyone who has voted for this diary this month as well. On to some comments!</span></p><p> ===</p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Beejus" data-cite="Beejus" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45394" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Time limit - <em>Morton and Flair going the distance here just feels good.</em></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> <span style="font-family:TAHOMA;">Hey Beejus! The Nature Boy is sporting a blue sequined robe and the NWA World Heavyweight title belt around his waist. Flair enters the ring and gives a little strut, drawing mostly jeers but some cheers from some of his fans here. Flair gets on the microphone and says that the Horsemen celebrated all the way from the Clash in Dixie country to WCW Saturday Night right here in the armpit of America, Chicago Illinois. These words draw a lot of boos from the fans in attendance with Flair's cheap heat. Flair says that Chicago has been thirsting for a real man to come and save their city from the likes of mediocre athletes like Michael Jordan. He says that the Horsemen arriving in Chicago is like the Queen arriving in England. He says that the Horsemen stay in the finest hotels, drink the best alcohol the city has to offer and Whooo Whooo the hottest women on planet Earth. He yells at a female sitting in the front row that she'll never get in line to ride Space Mountain because there is a teeth minimum and she obviously doesn't meet the requirements. That is a definite change in attitude from just a few moments ago. Rhodes gets on the microphone and says that he doesn't think Chicago is Flair Country. He says that Chicago is Bulls country! Rhodes makes a prediction that the man that Ric Flair called mediocre is going to lead Chicago to a NBA Championship this year. That makes the crowd pop and begin a 'Jordan' chant. Flair says that they have talked enough about a low rent team. He wants to know why Dusty is back and why he's in the ring right now. Rhodes says that he's come back because he wants something that Ric Flair has and that's the NWA World Heavyweight title. He says that he wants to be a four time NWA World Heavyweight Champion by beating Ric Flair one more time. Flair laughs and says that Rhodes was never someone that could beat Ric Flair. As soon as Flair lands outside the ring, he takes a Bionic Elbow from Dusty Rhodes! On another side of the ring, Sid Vicious throws Terry Taylor into the guardrail. Morton tries to strike and run from Vicious but he gets caught around the throat -- Chokeslam from Vicious to Morton! Schiavone says that he heard that York has an announcement she wants to make tonight so the microphone belongs to her. She says that she has been talking to the NWA Championship Committee and they have agreed that The York Foundation have been overlooked when it comes to title matches here in WCW. Therefore, next week, right here on WCW Saturday Night, The Southern Rockers tag team will get a shot at the NWA United States Tag Team titles when they face The Steiner Brothers in a tag team match. She says that she absolutely has the computer knowledge that it takes to beat a couple of imbeciles like The Steiners, especially that dog-faced competitor. Of course, Eaton has Jim Cornette in his corner. The match is set for a twenty minute time limit instead of the usual ten minute because of Cornette talking with the NWA Championship Committee. As expected, the match pace begins very quickly between these two wrestlers. A series of chain wrestling between the two men ends in a stalemate as both men end up on their feet. The momentum turns the way of Eaton when Z-Man goes for a dropkick but Eaton holds on to the top rope to keep from running into the feet of the Champion. Eaton drops down and begins throwing some hard hitting punches to Z-Man on the mat until the referee threatens Eaton with a disqualification. Beautiful Bobby picks up Z-Man and body slams him to the mat. Eaton bounces off the ropes and goes for an elbow drop but Z-Man rolls out of the way. Z-Man gets to his feet and climbs to the second rope, turning and catching Eaton with a cross body for a one count only as Eaton manages to kick out. Z-Man grabs Eaton and catches him with an inverted atomic drop before bouncing off the ropes and dropping Eaton with a clothesline. Z-Man begins clapping his hands, getting the fans into the contest. Z-Man sizes up Eaton, waiting for the latter to get to his feet. As Eaton staggers around on his feet, Z-Man catches Eaton with a super kick straight to the chin! He leaps with a cross body out of the ring but Eaton moves and slams Z-Man into the guardrail! A split-screen replay shows Z-Man's chin striking the top of the guardrail, busting him open slightly. Eaton grabs Z-Man and runs him into the ring post before tossing him back inside the ring. Eaton joins him and begins stomping on the prone Z-Man. He makes a quick cover: One, Two, Shoulder Up! The crowd cheers when Z-Man's shoulder gets off the mat. Eaton gets up and stomps on the chest of Z-Man before making a jackknife style cover: One, Two, Z-Man lifts up in a bridge and twists it around to a backslide on Eaton: One, Two, Kickout! Z-Man pulls himself up and hits Eaton with a dropkick. He turns and bounces off the rope but Cornette strikes him in the back with the tennis racket! The referee didn't see the hit and it staggers Z-Man into a left handed punch by Eaton! With Z-Man prone on the mat, Eaton staggers and struggles his way to the turnbuckle. As the match nears the eight minute mark, the rest of The Horsemen come down to surround the ringside area. The presence of The Horsemen seems to reenergize Ric Flair. Flair backs into a corner and then avoids a running knee shot from Morton. Instead, Morton's knee strikes the turnbuckle. Flair moves in and lifts Morton, dropping him to the mat following a shinbreaker. Flair continues his focus on the knee of Morton, including placing it on the bottom rope and leaping, landing with a seated senton on the leg. Flair tosses Morton out of the ring where Morton lands at the feet of Sid Vicious. Flair distracts the official as Vicious picks up Morton, driving him back-first into the ring apron and then Irish whips him into the guardrail before tossing Morton back inside the ring. Flair bounces off the ropes and hits Morton with a diving knee drop. Flair rises back up and begins a strut, yelling at the crowd. He is definitely showing some confidence as Morton seems laid out in the ring. Flair moves in and grabs the legs, looking for the Figure Four but Morton reverses into a small package: One, Two, Kickout! Flair manages to kickout but Morton was, once again, half a count away from becoming the next NWA World Heavyweight Champion! Flair is back up and he places Morton up in the corner, striking him with several knife edge chops but Morton comes back to life and responds with three punches in a row. He grabs Flair and Irish whips him toward the turnbuckle -- Flair flips up and over, landing on the apron. Flair runs across the apron and climbs to the top turnbuckle but Morton limps over and catches him. Flair screams no before Morton body slams Flair off the turnbuckle to the mat. Morton looks a little worse for wear, grabbing his knee as that seemed to take a lot out of him. The Chicago crowd clap their hands and stomp their feet, trying to give some of their energy to Morton. With Flair on the mat, Morton exits onto the apron and begins climbing the turnbuckle slowly due to his leg being in pain and having wrestled this match. Sting makes sure everyone knows that he and Terry Taylor are two of the men that will be on the other side of the ring. But tonight he will be introducing the two men who will be joining himself and Taylor in that match. Flair grabs a microphone and asks what two men would be crazy enough to take on The Horsemen. Make sure you tune in to find out.</span><p><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:TAHOMA;"> -That is not the only title match that we will have this evening. The Steiner Brothers start things strong, striking both King and Doll with Steinerlines. Scott grabs King and tosses him with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Rick catches Doll with another Steinerline and The Southern Rockers quickly roll out of the ring and regroup with Alexandra York. Rick drops on all fours and barks as Scott stands over him. Timothy King rolls into the ring to start things out against Rick Steiner. King locks up with Rick and grabs him in a side headlock. Rick throws King off to the ropes and King leapfrogs over Rick before catching him with a dropkick on the rebound. King tags in Doll and Doll catches Rick Steiner with a flying headscissors! This, however, sends Rick into his corner and he tags in his brother, Scott. Scott comes in like a house on fire! He trades blows with both members of The Southern Rockers before catching King with a double underhook power bomb. Doll, however, is the legal man and he strikes Scott with a double axehandle, gaining control for The Southern Rockers. As we move closer and closer to the time limit, Doll and King start to get a little desperate. This desperation leads to some double team moves but one that doesn't work out when King holds Scott but Scott ducks a clothesline attempt and it hits King! Scott crawls over and tags in his brother, who runs around the ring barking. Rick fires in Steinerlines and then picks up King, dropping him with a scoop slam. Steven Doll strikes Rick with a clip to the knee and Alexandra York climbs on the apron, getting the referee's attention. What the referee did not see was that she slid the laptop into the ring. Steven Doll picks it up and cracks Rick Steiner over the head with the laptop, shattering it and sending pieces all over the ring! He has proven that time and time again. So if the Junkyard Dog wants a dog collar match with a beast then he's got it. But he reminds JYD that this is all on him. The two men make their entrances and referee Nick Patrick holds up the NWA World Heavyweight title belt. Patrick places the belt outside the ring and then calls for the bell. The two men step forward to the center of the ring and Flair avoids a lockup, strutting across the ring and releasing a 'Whooo.' Rhodes just watches from the opposite side of the ring. When they do lock up, Rhodes backs Flair into a corner and does a clean break but Flair lands a chop to the chest instead. Rhodes fires back with a punch and the two exchange blows before Rhodes gets the advantage with a bionic elbow to the head, sending Flair stepping forward and then stumbling to the mat face-first. Rhodes goes for a cover but only scores a two count before Flair places his foot on the bottom rope. Rhodes stands up and picks up Flair, sending him to the ropes before dropping him with a shoulderblock. He keeps Rhodes grounded as he stomps on the knee, rams it against the ring post, drops a seated senton on the knee and other moves that keep the American Dream down. Around the nine minute mark, Flair locks Rhodes in the Figure 4! The crowd boos, trying to get the American Dream to make a comeback. He shakes his head, refusing to give up to the submission hold. The crowd begins clapping their hands and stomping their feet as they try to will Rhodes to break the hold. After about a minute of being locked in the Figure 4, Rhodes manages to turn and twist, reversing the hold until Flair breaks it. Both men are slow to get to their feet as we have reached the ten minute mark in the match. The two men meet in the center of the ring and exchange blows before Rhodes gets the advantage. He Irish whips Flair to the corner and Flair flips up and over the turnbuckle. Flair runs along the apron and climbs the turnbuckle. He leaps but is caught with a punch to the gut by the Dream. Rhodes grabs his knee, wincing in pain. He picks up Flair and sends him to the corner again but referee Nick Patrick is in the corner! The referee gets squashed and rolls out of the ring landing at ringside. Rhodes hesitates, seeing what he's done. He goes to check on the official but takes a thumb to the eye by Flair! Flair grabs Rhodes and throws him over the top rope to the floor at ringside right by the fallen official. Flair slides out of the ring and grabs a cable from one of the cameras, using it to choke Rhodes at ringside for several moments before letting go. We have just seen a brand new NWA World Heavyweight champion crowned on WCW Saturday Night! In the ring, </em><em><strong>Ric Flair</strong></em><em> is absolutely livid! Referee Randy Anderson is handed the NWA World Heavyweight title belt and he hands it over to </em><em><strong>Dusty Rhodes</strong></em><em>! There seems to be a clear cut argument being made between Patrick and Anderson. It's difficult to tell exactly what the argument is about. But they seem to come to a decision and then Nick Patrick speaks with Gary Michael Cappetta. Cappetta makes the official announcement: </em><em><strong>Referee Nick Patrick has disqualified Ric Flair for throwing Dusty Rhodes over the top rope in the match. Therefore, Dusty Rhodes wins by disqualification but Ric Flair is still the NWA World Heavyweight champion!</strong></em><em> A large amount of boos come from the crowd when they hear this decision. Sting and Taylor look upset over the night's events but even moreso over Rhodes being seemingly injured here on this night. The American Dream leans against the ropes, using Sting and Taylor to help get him to his feet. He has a look of defiance on his face, as though he is telling Ric Flair that no one can keep him down. Rhodes shakes his head as the announcers talk about that Ric Flair got away with a fast one here tonight. It's the second time he's slithered away with his title, the first time being at the Clash of the Champions. But that's the end of the show this evening. News And Notes

-Last WCW Saturday Night at the Riverside Centroplex had three dark matches. Two of them featured wrestlers who have not yet debuted. The third one featured a tag team encounter where Arn Anderson and Barry Windham defeated The Killer Bees in what was rated as a C- match.

-Backstage, Lex Luger was taken to wrestler's court where the judge presiding was Arn Anderson. Luger was accused of making a mess backstage and not cleaning it up. Anderson found him guilty and sentenced him to clean it up and buy drinks for everyone after the show. Not only did Luger follow through with the sentence but seemed contrite and said he would be cleaning up his act, along with the backstage area.

-Watching the backstage area, it was seen that Ric Flair took Chris Youngblood on as his protégé. He definitely seems to see something in the Renegade Warrior. No word on how Chris's brother Mark Youngblood is taking this news.

-Last week saw the signings and subsequent debuts of Joe Malenko, Pedro Morales and referee's Randy Eller and David Manning.

-Backstage, we saw a new friendship develop between enhancement talents Frankie 'The Thumper' Lancaster and Iron Mike Sharpe. It's always good to see talents getting along as it helps the backstage area.

-Texas Championship Wrestling has gone off the air, leaving Gary Hart's Texas Wrestling Federation without a show on any station.

-WCW's developmental promotion, USPW, held their second monthly show. More to come on that later on but we did learn that Ric Flair came down to defend the NWA World Heavyweight title.

-Playboy Buddy Rose and Don 'The Rock' Muraco both signed with the WWF under written deals. It will be interesting to see just how the WWF uses these two talents.

-Speaking of the WWF, Brother Love and Joey Marella were both released. Will we see either of them in WCW now? As of right now, neither have been signed.
