The Rockverse USA Beta release!!! (Or more appropriate, The Rockverse American Alpha release!!! See what I did their?)

 

 

 

For those of you who don't know the Rockverse is a fantasy mod created by yours truly along with Swanton825. We've been plugging away at this thing for over a year now and everything that could possibly happen to delay this project has happened but now I am at a point where I just have to stop tinkering and release the damn thing. So here it is.

 

Now, before cranking this bad boy up please keep in kind that this is a beta release of the US only. You will find mistakes, spelling errors and probably lots of stat errors etc so please don't rip us to shreds. Constructive criticism is welcomed though and as this is our first mod the goal is to make it better with every attempt.

 

With that being said a big thank you goes out to Swanton825 of course, he put as much effort and time in this as I did, Aydenreid for helping in the beginning, WYSmooth and DarEatWorld for writing some awesome bios and anyone else who contributed a little bit along the way. Also, if I used your gimmick files, match packs, locations or anything else, credit is given on the DB bio page and thank you sincerely for making those files available for mod makers.

<p>I have started to look through the world starting with GEW and have noticed some things that may need fixing.</p><p> </p><p>

-Bro Jackson is called Poe Jackson in his bio</p><p>

-Dusty and Rusty Rawlings have 0 tag team experience</p><p>

-Rusty Rawlings has 18 strength for a heavyweight</p><p>

-Jefrey Oscar Brooks or Jeffrey Oscar Brooks? Used differnent ways multiple times</p><p>

-Based on his bio, Kinzo Oazaki should probably be an entertainer and have less puro skill then he does have</p><p>

-Peter Gywnn Jr has no picture</p><p>

-No default announcers are set for GEW Events, they are set up for TV though</p><p>

-Also, I'm not sure if this is a mistake or something you did on purpose, but you spelt Justice, Justus in the Hounds of Justus stable and in their bios</p><p> </p><p>

I've also noticed that some ages don't make sense compared to the bio:</p><p>

-Haru Kitano's bio says he was in Japan for 12 years, but only a 7 year pro in his description</p><p>

-Jaelyn Powers is currently 26 as a 7 year pro, but based on her bio should be at least a 9 year pro based on the years talked about in her bio</p><p>

-Keelin O'Connell bio says she spent 5 years in Ireland, then got signed by developmental, so she should probably have 6 or 7 years of experience at least instead of the 4 she has</p><p>

-Stefania was in the 2007 GEW Idol Hunt, but is currently 22 with 2 years in the wrestling business at the start of the game in 2016. With these numbers, she would have been in the Idol Hunt when she was 13.</p><p>

-there are a few more people like this, but these are the major ones i noticed</p><p> </p><p>

I am severely enjoying looking through the mod however, and have been looking forward to it for a long time. You guys have clearly put a ton of time and effort into the mod and I am super glad the project has gotten this far. However, I do believe that a readjustment of certain statistics could be done to maybe balance the game a bit more. Things like Star Quality and Psychology are something, that by just looking at GEW, I think could be balanced a bit more. In GEW, there are 10 active wrestlers on the roster with Great Star Quality, while in the default C-Verse data, the SWF has 25 wrestlers with Great Star Quality. While I understand that it is not supposed to be a copy of the SWF or something, that is a massive difference that I think should be adjusted. </p><p> </p><p>

And with psychology, there seems to be a massive amount of people on the roster with pretty mediocre psychology(in the 50's), when I think it would be more balanced or useful to have more people in the average range, which I feel is in the mid 60's. But then again, their is a ton of young workers on the GEW roster, so I can see why you decided to make them have lower psych.</p><p> </p><p>

Again, I am enjoying looking through this world and am super excited to see how this world evolves. Please don't take any of what I said as hate on you or anything, it is just observations I have noticed from spending a small amount of time looking at your mod.</p>

In regards to Bro Jackson, his real name is Poe Jackson. In the bio it states that he didn't adopt the Bro Jackson moniker until he was signed and put in the Dude Bros tag team but I can see how that can be confusing.</p><p> </p><p> Justus is indeed spelled the way it was meant to be spelled.</p><p> </p><p> The other stuff has been fixed, those were mainly just proofreading errors or errors I wrote down to fix and got busy and forgot about.</p><p> </p><p> In regards to psychology, star quality etc, that was mainly do to the workers being so young. GEW is at a period where they have brought in a new crop of young talent and I wanted the stats to reflect that but I did raise the psych,sq and basics stats across the board for the big 3 US companies. I see your point in that the younger workers in the bigger name promotions have had plenty of time to hone their skills on the indies or through developmental.</p><p> </p><p> All the stuff mentioned has been fixed and I replaced the file above with the new file and new link.</p><p> </p><p> And no, I absolutely do not take it as you hating or anything. I realized their would be lots of errors and typos etc. and releasing a beta is the best way to fix those so thank you for pointing that stuff out.</p><p> </p><p> Also, completely forgot but Peter Gwynn Jr should be a FA, I will delete his contract for the next update. I decided the FA pool needed another potential owner/road agent so he is now on the unemployment line.</p>

The only real noticeable error I have come across is there is a worker called Donte Darling and a separate worker called Pierre Young but reading the bios they are one and the same person.</p>

<p>Been looking through some more promotions and noticed some things:</p><p> </p><p>

-Ezekial Culpepper is loyal to AACW even though he has wrestled for AOA his entire career</p><p>

-AACW has no womens champion</p><p>

-Chimera in NHEW is mentioned as being 7 feet tall in his bio, but is listed as a middleweight, which makes him a very lanky 7 footer</p><p>

-Bryan Crews in PGA says he was on the independents for 10 years, but is listed as a 7 year pro</p><p>

-Marcin Dvorak age doesn't make sense. If he was drafted to the UHA(assuming the draft is the same as the NHL) he would have been 18 at the earliest in 2010, which means that he would have to be at least 24 right now and not 21</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

I've also noticed a few times where stuff has been mentioned in 2016 as having already happened when the game starts at the beginning of 2016. Things like Alonzo Atwood coming second in the 2016 SENE Cruiserweight invitational or Bryan Crews gruelling match with Afu that landed on 'the best matches of 2016 list' would have to take place in 2015.</p>

There are a couple of tag teams whose members have different dispositions (one is the tag team champions so don't think that is intentional) and the two storylines with female managers (tag team storyline and You're Nothing Compared to Me, the woman seem to be the wrong way round. </p><p> </p><p>

I have booked the first television show of AOA. Results below:</p><p> </p><p>

<p>So I advanced a couple days out of curiosity and noticed that GEW got a warning for "lack of big names." This is the first time I've encountered this, so a few questions: </p><p> </p><p>

- I'm not sure I'm understanding it correctly. It says GEW needs two wrestlers over 77% popularity in their home region. As far as I can tell, they easily have that covered.</p><p> </p><p>

- Is this in there intentionally, and if so...</p><p> </p><p>

- Tips on overcoming this?</p><p> </p><p>

Edit: While I'm here, you got any finishers that you envisioned being a certain move when you named them? One of the first things I do when starting up a new game is make a roster sheet that includes my vision of what everybody's finisher is. It helps me envision their character and wrestling style more.</p>

The only thing I can do is up the pop of the entire roster a few points across the board and see what happens. I'll try that tomorrow.</p>

Only thing I've thought of so far.</p><p> </p><p> EDIT: That's not it.</p><p> </p><p> EDIT 2: I FIGURED IT OUT. The warning says you need at least two workers with 77+ pop, but it looks like what it means is three or more workers with 78 or more pop. GEW have five workers with an average popularity of 77+ in the US: Jimmy Hustle (97), SoulTaker (93), Big Alpha (90), Chris Millennium (88), & Dylan Jude (77). The problem is that Hustle (bruised privates) and Alpha (legal reasons) are not on the active roster. When I went out and bumped Dylan Jude up to 78 pop across USA, I restarted and did not get the notice.</p><p> </p><p> TL;DR: It looks like the solution is to slightly raise a couple pops like you said, or force the user to ride this out as it's only temporary, and GEW have three workers capable of reaching the 78 popularity threshold within a few shows.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Also, should the Monday/Tuesday talk shows be 'B' shows? I'm assuming they're meant to be Talking Smack inspired, and they'll always get dinged for the match:angle ratio being off, and cause you to lose pop.</p><p> </p><p> EDIT 3: Colton Riddle's bio mentions him being Chris Millennium's protege but that relationship doesn't exist in-game. Just a heads up.</p>

<p>Something I noticed about AACW: Braunstein's bio says he's undefeated and closing in on a year as US Champion, but Isaac Execution is US Champion.</p><p> </p><p>

Also, it's supposed to be The Perfect Weapon's rookie year, but he won the Six-Man Invitational with Scorpion and Dominick Diamond in 2013.</p>
