TNA: Heyman's Heyday [RW March 2007]

Russo fired from TNA, replaced by Paul Heyman

March 31st 2007.

It's confirmed. TNA president Dixie Carter announced this morning, that after Destination X and the Fire Russo chants that erupted during the Last Rites match between Abyss and Sting, Vince Russo has been officially removed from the TNA booking team and have confirmed that former WWE employee Paul Heyman will be added.

Heyman, who has been sitting at home since the abysmal ECW December to Dismember, has been lauded as one of the best bookers in wrestling history, making ECW into a cult phenomenon and making the Smackdown brand viable during the Smackdown Six era. Although Heyman won't be the head of the booking team, it is believed he will have a strong influence on booking decisions due to his past successes.

Although clearly behind WWE, TNA have been on the rise as of late adding big names to their roster over the last few years such as Sting, Christian Cage and Kurt Angle to a great roster of TNA originals of AJ Styles, Abyss and Samoa Joe. Heyman has a plethora of old and new toys in his hands now as he will enjoy reuniting with Kurt Angle from Smackdown and the Dudley Boys and Rhino from ECW, but many are also looking forward to how he might use Sting, Joe and AJ, as well as what his opinion is on the X Division.

Heyman will apparently begin his tenure on the booking committee tomorrow to set up for this Thursday when TNA impact airs. I'm sure no wrestling fan will want to miss it.

I dont know if I can link it due to it being on a different site, but I got it on ewbattleground. A google search should find it. It actually starts in June and I rolled it back to April.

Daniels then picks up Senshi, looking to end it early with the Angels Wings and hooks the arms, but Lynn flies off the top rope and hits a hurricanrana, flinging Daniels across the ring and he slides under the ropes to the outside. Lynn then looks to hit the sit down powerbomb on Senshi but he goes through Lynn's legs and sweeps the feet. He then runs of the ropes as Lynn is on one knee and goes for a shining wizard to Lynn but Lynn ducks, however, Senshi has kept his foot on Lynn's leg and kicks him in the back of the head. Daniels makes his way back into the fray chopping Senshi's chest and putting him into the corner and runs at him but takes a kick to the face as a receipt and turns into a Jerry Lynn dropkick. Senshi then jumps on the top rope and as Lynn gets up, Senshi hits him with a missile dropkick. Then Senshi sets Lynn up for the Warriors Way and Senshi makes his way to the top rope, but Daniels hits Senshi's legs and he crashes and burns to the outside. Saniels takes advantage hitting a BME and pinning Lynn to qualify for the Xscape match. AJ picks up Joe off the ropes, then drops down, Joe jumps over him, springs off the ropes and AJ jumps up to deliver his signature picture perfect dropkick to Joe's jaw. AJ nails vicious kicks to a kneeling Joe's chest before running off the ropes but Joe jumps up and connects with a standing bicycle kick to AJ. Both men are down and slowly make their way to their feet as AJ hits a forearm, Joe then hits his own, AJ trades another one, Joe hits a chop and another and another and AJ is in the corner, Joe whips him hard into the other corner and AJ wlaks out in pain, drop toe hold by Joe drops AJ to the floor. Joe is up quickly, off the ropes and hits his patented back splash. The Joe transitions it inot the Coquina Clutch and it's locked in tight. Tomko then gets up and goes for a running clothesline again on Joe but he ducks and he hits AJ who was balancing on the top top rope and AJ falls right down on his groin. Bicycle kick to Tomko, Cage gets the same receipt, the Joe goes to AJ, sets him up, MUSCLE BUSTER!!! Cover.. 1... 2.... 3. Heyman: I don't have much to say here tonight, but I will say this. The revolution begins tonight. The crowd cheer and chant ECW again as Heyman basks in the love. That's until a masked man being chased by security jumps the guard rail with a chair in hand. Heyman doesn't notice this and turns, SMASH! The masked man unleashes a vicious chair shot to Heyman and Heyman slams down to the mat, his forehead spewing blood. The masked man bails again back into the crowd and runs out of the arena, security still in pursuit. Okay, I was skeptical about this project when I read the intro, but this show assuaged my fears. I just have one question: will we have a television championship sooner rather than later?
