All Action Wrestling: Taking Flight 3

March, Week 1, Sunday 2016

Low Key Venue (Manitoba)

Attendance: 56

Much like last month Ricochet Ramone comes out before Harry Chadwick can properly welcome the crowd to the show.

Ramone: "Austin Smooth gets a title shot? Are you kidding me? I did what you want. I beat JOJI and showed I am the star of All Action Wrestling. Are you trying to hold me down?"

Harry: "First of all do not think you can intimidate me. And right now each month I just hear a lot of complaining. You are one hell of a talent, but my decision stands. You face Fearless Blue tonight and if you keep winning you will get a shot."

Ramone does't look too pleased, but he just nods. As he is leaving he seems to get an epiphany and a slow smile creeps across his face. He looks much happier as he leaves and allows Harry to welcome the crowd properly.

Mad Dog Mortimer vs Daredevil Aero

The first match of the evening was....okay. It was Mad Dog's best outing yet performance wise, but timing issues from Aero which knocked the quality of the match down. Despite that it had enough to keep the crowd interested and Daredevil Aero did hit a few flashy moves. The most impressive being his variation of the moonsault that had good hang time that he used to put Mad Dog Mortimer away for the three count.

Winner: Daredevil Aero

Cobra vs Mark Smart

A good outing for both men. After stumbling a bit last month Mark Smart seemed to bounce back with a nice performance. It may just be he does well when playing more the underdog role and facing off with men a bit larger in size. The two already are somewhat familiar with one another being in the main event of the first show together, but this is their fist time one on one so there is a bit of a feeling out process. Cobra uses a blend of strikes and submission holds to try to keep Mark grounded, but Mark Smart is slippery and manages to hold his own by keeping Cobra off balance with some of his high flying moves. Smart eventually hits his Smart Attack finisher on an already dazed Cobra and picks up his first win in AAW.

Winner: Mark Smart

JOJI vs El Medico

Another solid match to follow up the previous one. JOJI continues to impress while El Medico holds up his end on this match as well. A lot of fast pacing with big time high flying moves and even nice dive over the top rope to the outside when JOJI takes flight and flattens El Medico. Medico never fully recovers from that and JOJI finishes him off with the JOJI Miracle Explosion.

Winner: JOJI

Ramone is already in the ring when Fearless Blue comes out and offers a handshake with one hand and holding a microphone in the other.

Blue: "Gosh, I sure am sorry you seem so upset lately mister Ramone. I'll be sure you get a shot once I win it."

Ramone just looks at Blue as if he grew two additional heads and snags away the microphone.

Ramone: "You....you think you would get the title before ME? What kind of joke is this?"

Blue: "Well shucks. I don't think it is a joke at all. I just figure I'd beat you tonight then beat the champ down the road."

It seems Ramone isn't too keen on how Blue is talking so he tries to attack with the microphone. Blue ducks and kicks Ramone in the ass as the match begins.

Ricochet Ramone vs Fearless Blue

Another solid match and Fearless Blue had his best performance by far. Of course his opponent being Ramone probably helped in that. A good back and forth match where Ramone's frustrations allow Fearless Blue to come close to victory a few times. Ramone finally settles down and he uses some underhanded tactics to gain the advantage. One he never lets go of for the rest of the match and he eventually wins after a Ricochet Senton.

Winner: Ricochet Ramone

Lion Heart © with Billie Krystal vs Austin Smooth

A much better main event than the previous month and it is owed to both men. Lion Heart by far had his best showing and Austin Smooth did a great job as well. While the previous few matches were much more fast paced this was more power versus technical ability. Lion Heart was showing off his new, more muscular physique by manhandling Austin early. Austin had to use his wits and his technical prowess to eventually get control of the match and work over Lion Heart's upper back and arms to try and soften things up for the Smooth Hold. The champ looked to be in trouble up until Ricochet Ramone came out. While not getting involved his presence certainly annoyed Smooth and he let himself get distracted one too many times. It proved costly because it allowed Lion Heart to make a comeback and finish off Smooth with the Lion's Pounce.

Winner and Still Champion: Lion Heart (Defenses: 2)

Rating: 40

kpFkTn5.jpg

7qJYhCO.jpgDLcYpsN.jpgBCTXdTB.jpg

Ramone looked rather pleased with himself before a recovered Austin Smooth gets in his face. The two look ready to get into a fist fight when Harry Chadwick comes out with some backup to pull the two apart and keep tings from getting more volatile as the show ends.

El Medico: The night started off with Daredevil Aero being late for a meeting once more. This time with Ramone and Mad Dog to discuss their opening match. I am so frustrated right with the man and he was fined which hopefully set him straight. Being the fine didn't work the first time I am not too sure it will. Perhaps I should have let Mad Dog have a victory here to really let Aero know where he stands.

The show itself I feel is hour best one yet from top to bottom. Not much was expected from the opening bout, but the other ones had consistency and kept the flow of the show going smoothly. JOJI was a pleasure to work with and it was nice for Mark to get his first win after two solid main event losses. Blue stepped up his game even and the match with Ramone was much better than I was expecting. Of course it helps Ramone is probably the best person we got between the ropes in a lot of ways.

The main event was good too. Smooth showed he could handle the pressure of being high on the card despite his lack of experience and Lion Heart had his best outing. It could be the champ is feeling more comfortable and starting to fit into the role. If we can continue to deliver shows like this I feel we could increase our fanbase.

Three shows have come and gone and everything seems to be going by so quickly in comparison from what I was used to. I am more used to maybe being at one small show every few months and spending at best maybe six minutes in the ring to actually getting time to work with people and help hone my own skills. If not for the booking side of things as well as road agent duties I would think this was a perfect deal. Don't get me wrong. I am appreciating the chance I have been given, but it has been tiring.

Harry: "So what do you think so far?"

Harry had called me up earlier so we decided to meet up and have a talk. Mostly just to see if anything needed sorting out. He has been dealing with finances which I am grateful for. I can barely manage my own let alone that of a company. I know we aren't making money yet, but Harry has been pleased enough by the results that hasn't become an issue for the time being.

Medico: "It is similar yet different? I never have had so many duties. I am glad some of the guys are so helpful. Clarence has handled all the minor issues with everyone and Ramone has been great in helping me split road agent duties."

Harry: "Have you decided what to do with the troublemaker yet?"

Medico: *Sigh* "I gave him another fine. I want him to straighten up. I feel he could be a big deal for us. I just can't trust pushing him until he shows me he is willing to change."

Truth be told I know what it is like to go back to working the small time shows. Even smaller than the ones AAW host. Not sure when you might get your next match and even then if it is worthwhile. I was hoping him getting fired once would have straightened him up, but maybe some people just sabotage their own careers. Am I the bad guy in the end if I have to fire him?

Harry: "You seem lost in thought. Everything fine?"

Medico: "Yeah....yeah. How about you? You always ask how I am doing, but never really talk about yourself."

Harry: "It has been the most fun I have had in years. Just to go out there a few minutes a month in front of a small crowd. No thoughts of business meetings and other things in life. It makes me feel like a young man again even if for a moment."

Medico: "I am glad to hear that. I really do thank you for all this."

Harry: "I think I should be thanking you all. Despite a few minor bumps you all have done me proud and it is great watching you all. I really hope it leads to better things to everyone. Now how about next month? Any ideas?"

Medico: "....well."

As for what happened next? It was back to work to make sure things keep chugging along. Last show was a momentum builder I thought and I would like to keep things going and hopefully Harry liked what ideas I had.

If anything it is by far Lion Heart's best performance overall and the match could have probably been better if not for Ramone's timing to be off just a bit most of the match. Things are going pretty well for Ramone though as he is looking for his big Ricochet Senton to put away the champ. Smooth comes out of nowhere though to push him off while the ref is distracted by Billie. Lion Heart recovers and as Ramone starts to get up he is greeted with a Lion's Pounce.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">Winner and Still Champion: Lion Heart (Defenses: 3)</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;"> Rating: 36</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="kpFkTn5.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/kpFkTn5.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p> <img alt="DLcYpsN.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/DLcYpsN.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="BCTXdTB.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/BCTXdTB.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="7qJYhCO.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7qJYhCO.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Ramone and Austin are about to get into it again once the former recovers, but Harry is quickly out with a few members of the roster to keep them seperated. The tag match was mostly there to mix things up a bit. I don't think there will be any sort of tag division in the near future due to a rather small roster. It wasn't anything grand, but it was a good match to start things off. The match also helped mask Mad Dog's horrible conditioning and in return he gave his best performance yet.<p> </p><p> Aero was being Aero again. This time he showed up on time and wasn't high, but apparently he did something that got him reprimanded by Clarence Garcia before the show. Whatever it was he did I guess his punishment was to buy everyone's drinks post show. I guess some people never learn. At least I wasn't having to deal with the incident.</p><p> </p><p> JOJI and Mark were also tonight. I told them to try and steal the show and boy did they do that. I kind of regret it because it may have taken away from the main event, but both of these guys continue to show they are valuable members of the roster and are going to provide excitement whenever they are in the ring.</p><p> </p><p> Same result two months in a row for the main event. I am sure those in the audience that have been coming to the shows knew it was coming, but it only seemed fair to have Austin get some sort of revenge. It does set up a good match too. Or at least I hope it does. The down side to all of this is it might be hurting Lion Heart's run. Could he have won both matches if there was no interference? He does have a solid win over Mark and he did overcome three other men to become champ in the first place so I am hoping things are sort of even when it comes to fan perception.</p></div></blockquote>

I am going to be honest here I actually thought that Smooth was going to make sure that Ramone won, guarnteeing himself not only a match against him, but one with the title on the line. I did like the show anyways though, and I thought the Mark Smart angle was great. JOJI was probably too high to recognize who it really was.

And among the five founders he was the last to find himself employment. He was one of the first signings we made to AAW and he has shown himself to be an exciting talent that just needs some polish to his ring skills. He doesn't have the looks and talent of a Daredevil Aero who was one of the fellow XDW founders, but his personality has made him a more valuable addition in the long run.</p><p> </p><p> Kris was also the one that kept us from signing another former XDW founder, Extreme Deluxe. We had heard rumors of drug use, but Kris confirmed that while Deluxe is a good guy the drug use has gotten out of hand and he would be a liability in the ring. Alas he couldn't give us as good of insight on Daredevil Aero due to Aero mostly performing in Mexico in recent years and Blue had not run into him for a long time.</p><p> </p><p> Will Fearless Blue ever be the top guy? Right now probably not. He can work well enough to fill in as a contender at times, but his ring work has to improve for him to be given a run with the belt I feel. He is still valuable as a roster member as he has become good friends with both JOJI and Mark Smart. The trio are pretty much inseparable and help keep the mood backstage upbeat. At only twenty-seven years of age Fearless Blue has plenty of time to up his game and climb to new heights. I personally am pulling for him and hope he gets to go on to bigger, better things.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="kpFkTn5.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/kpFkTn5.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45603" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>AAW Taking Flight 5</strong></span></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Main Event for the Number One Contender of the AAW All Action Canadian Championship</strong></p><p> </p><p> Austin Smooth vs Ricochet Ramone</p><p> </p><p> <strong>AAW All Action Championship Match</strong></p><p> </p><p> Lion Heart © vs El Medico</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Also Featuring</strong></p><p> </p><p> Cobra and JOJI vs Daredevil Aero and Mark Smart</p><p> </p><p> Mad Dog Mortimer vs Fearless Blue</p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote>

Main Event for the Number One Contender of the AAW All Action Canadian Championship

Austin Smooth vs Ricochet Ramone

Smooth seems to be on his game and I believe will do whatever it takes to win. But I could see where there a non decision here and the old man just decides to make it a triple threat next show

AAW All Action Championship Match

Lion Heart © vs El Medico

Tempting to put the belt on the boss as a transitional champion but I think he will do the honors here

Also Featuring

Cobra and JOJI vs Daredevil Aero and Mark Smart

Too bad Smart has to team with Aero, who should still be canned

Mad Dog Mortimer vs Fearless Blue

This “Mad Dog” is no such thing as he has no bark or bite. In honor of all the great Mad Dog’s in wrestling, he should lose the use of that name

There will be some sort of draw, leading to a triple threat

AAW All Action Championship Match

Lion Heart © vs El Medico

He has a triple threat date with Ramone + Smooth

Also Featuring

Cobra and JOJI vs Daredevil Aero and Mark Smart

Poor Smart takes another loss, because I don't think DDA has much staying power here

<p>Austin Smooth <strong>vs</strong> Ricochet Ramone</p><p>

<em>Might be the best match in AAW "history" as these two are probably your best two in-ring guys. But I see this becoming a triple threat with Lion Heart in the near future.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Lion Heart ©</strong> vs El Medico</p><p>

<em>Do the deed, boss.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Cobra and JOJI vs <strong>Daredevil Aero and Mark Smart</strong></p><p>

<em>I am conflicted. You need some heels to climb up to give Lion Heart some decent challengers, but how long is his run? I am taking the heels here with Cobra taking the pin. JOJI doesn't take a huge hit, but Smart and Aero (one last chance) get a big win.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Mad Dog Mortimer vs <strong>Fearless Blue</strong></p><p>

<em>Mad Dog is going to be a liability soon enough, even for a small company.</em></p>
