I wanted to say who I nominated mostly because I wanted to shine the light on two of my nominees who either are no longer active on the diary board (arwink) or are no longer active on the board at all (Oldschool).

arwink: arwink is a great writer. I often felt like he was overlooked which is a shame because his HGC diaries where very well written. If you ever get a chance, check them out they are worth reading.

Oldschool: Oldschool is the author of one of my four favorite diaries ever on this board. His WWWF diary was a classic with two very interesting ideas. Which were what if Hulk Hogan had never singed with the WWWF/WWF? What if Vince Sr., not wanting to sell the WWWF to who son because he was not in favor of national expansion, never sold his company to Vince Jr. and instead sold it to someone else.

Oldschool managed to capture that era (What little I have watched of it) to a tee.

Nobby_McDonald: Nobby is a workhorse when it comes to writing diaries. While some writers start a new diary seemingly every week, Nobby keeps plugging along with the same diary. Now I must admit, I fell far behind on his current diary so I cannot really speak on that but his previous diaries have been well written with a splash of some great humor.

It sucks that we are limited to three nominations because I do have one more writer who I think belongs in there as well. Jingo has written some of the oddest and funniest diaries ever to grace this board and so he gets my honorable mention right here.

Just wanted to publicly share my choices for nominations just in case people don't know about these fine contributors to the boards:

TsuMirren

Besides having the most underrated diary on the board (seriously go check out his UWF diary...its hilarious!), TsuMirren has created a great deal of depth to the UK scene in all the historical mods we know and love. There's not another active user on these forums who has more background knowledge about UK wrestling history than this guy and he's willing to share his work/knowledge/time with almost every mod-maker who asks him.

Asaemon

While many of you may recognize Asaemon for his love of The Gambler in his WCW diaries (another great read!), you may not know that Aseamon has also contributed a ton to the CVerse render/alt community. While I don't know the first thing about alts or renders, I do know that his "prop picture pack" from a few years ago was huge for a lot other artists too. This guy is an unsung hero.

Togg

Would we even be doing this with Togg? Togg has cleaned up the whole DotM/Awards/Hall of Fame stuff around here. It's a thankless job that he does month in and month out...and his graphics...I mean are you kidding me? I can't even fathom the time he has put into that.

I'm even in some of the historical mods.

The UWF diary has been a lot of fun to work on, I think it's the 2nd diary I've taken seriously. Very few will remember my All Star one from about a decade ago. The more recent All Star ones, NWA in the UK and National Wrestling Conference were more just me playing a bit or testing Mod work on 80 or 85. I've got a lot of 1991 WCW ideas kicking around, but want to see how far I can take the UWF first.

On the UK data, Europe too, I'm probably in geek mode there. I started helping D. Boon on DOTT, by the time I got round to helping Genadi the sources had blossomed. I think Alv got me at my most motivated, getting the Joint Promotions split in 1980.

All this is sadly as close to promoting as I'll get again, so it's great that people are enjoying it. From a more personal viewpoint, I booked Drew McDonald and was stunned by his passing. So my UK/Europe work is done in memory of some and as a tribute to everyone else.

Asaemon: For as long as anyone can remember, Asaemon has been a premier graphics maker on the board. He's also been a standout writer, with several great diaries, but never quite got the recognition he deserved. In particular, I've enjoyed his work with TCW. That all changed this year, when the Hulk Knows WCW Best series was published. Asaemon combined great planning with great presentation and terrific booking to create a several-part clinic in diary writing. As we move towards part the third, The Hostile Takeover, Asaemon seems to continually improve throughout the series, as he continues to break new ground in both the midcard and the main event.

3rdStringPG: A great writer who for years produced popular, consistent work. He fell off the planet about the time the great photobucket apocalypse reset the board, so everyone forgot about him when the images were broken. Luckily, with a work around, you can view his greatest hits in their full glory. His concepts usually revolved around a single character, usually a jobber, who was signed to and explored a major wrestling company. His creative work gave the SWF both a depth and variety few others could duplicate. A talented writer, his realistic characters were extremely relatable, and filled with tension and drama. I was hit right in the feels several times during SWF: It's More Than Just Supreme, and I don't regret it.

Arwink: When I was a fledgling user, I would read Arwink's great work. Like new users sometime are, I was inconsiderate and thought I was hot ****. I had always unfairly discounted Arwink because he was brief. Then, after losing by one vote to him in Diary of the Month, I re-read his work. After re-reading the diary, about ten pages at the time, I came to understand that Arwink was an incredible writer, and because he was more skilled than me, he didn't need two paragraphs to get his point across. His concepts and execution were way ahead of anyone else on the board. He really understood pacing too. He explored in-depth the C97Verse, an era often ignored by writers that deserves more attention. He also has a great work ethic. Little know fact: Arwink is our resident published author, and despite this, has remained humble about his skills, only mentioning it when his career caused a slight hiatus in diary writing a few years back.

Great picks KYE. I forgot all about 3rdStringPG and Arwink, 2 superbly talented writers. I wish I could nominate more than 3.... KYE, hopefully someone throws your name forward as well...you're another unsung hero of these boards.

It is one bad thing about only three nominations. I think of the current and sometimes forget about the past despite several people having big impacts on me. I actually feel kind of like a jerk when I realize who I left out, but at the same time I would feel bad if I left out those I did nominate.

At the same time I fully understand why there is only three because otherwise things would just become way too bloated and it could become a bit of a mess trying to sort all the names out. In the end at least there is always next year!

Voeltzwagon

The man, the myth, the legend. I've called Voeltz "King of the Regional promotions" on numerous occasions and I think he deserves it. With numerous glorious runs with smaller companies in the diary section, Voeltz brings a sense of excitement and meaning to every show he writes. His format is simple yet extremely effective and the talent he uses in his diaries are people you won't see in the majority of dynasties posted on the boards. I've been a huge fan of Voeltz' work over the last two iterations of the game and have been blown away. AAW, BBoA and GSW are three of my personal favourites and his new AAW is just as entertaining. If anybody on the boards deserves a nom, it's my boy Voeltz.

Pteroid

I don't really think there's a weirder writer on the boards than Pteroid and that's meant in the most positive, complimentary fashion that it can, cause Pteroid never fails to make me laugh. His old SAW diary is still a favourite and I just generally like the positive vibes that Pteroid omits. His diaries are always funny and wacky and it's a nice escape from the crap reality can hold and for that he gets a nom.

Togg

For everything he does around the dynasty boards. With the DOTM and the work that comes with that, Togg has gone above and beyond what was expected with graphics and updated history books and everything, so I do think Togg deserves a nom for it. It's clear he works hard and it's definitely paid off

While I'm flattered, I think I probably still have a ways to go here. I'll get there someday.

Tiberious

For the sheer amount of hard work and dedication he has shown whilst working on numerous mods over recent years. An unsung hero of the forums in my opinion and an all-around good bloke on top of that.

Trell

Were it not for Trell, a lot of the current crop of render makers would not be doing what they currently do (myself included). His tutorial on how to create renders for those looking to give it a go proved invaluable in the early days and I have personally tried to pass this same knowledge on to the best of my abilities to those looking to start out more recently. Another fantastic individual.

Voeltzwagon

The introduction of GSW really sold me on buying the latest incarnation of the game and Voeltzwagon's GSW Dynasty not only made me pull the trigger, but also try my hand at a GSW Dynasty. I've looked up the rest of his work since and the man does a great work with anything he gets down to write about, so I really think he deserves a spot among the greatest.

Pteroid

Had no clue who this man was popping up and requesting the weirdest of renders, but following his Wrestlers of Mass Destruction Dynasty never failed to put a smile on my face. From the format to the ideas in it, the man is hands down the best in town when it comes to writing comedy promotions, especially those of the weirder ilk.

DarEatWorld

Both his SNP Thistle in the Ashes and CILL New Endings Dynasties pack a punch creatively, emotionally and in terms of sheer brilliant writing. It may take some time and more Dynasties before he's at the point where his spot at the Hall of Fame can't be denied, but I'm nominating him nonetheless as I truly think he deserves the honor.

Togg

As others have said, he has worked very hard on this board. Doing the DOTM and now the Hall of Fame is more work than most people realize. I can say that from experience. The man hours that Togg puts in place alone should qualify him for the Hall. His help on the DOTY awards was, to put it mildly, indispensable. I am grateful to him and there was no way that I wasn't going to make this nomination.

One of my two senior nominations. For those of you here who have not read his Battle lines have been drawn. What if the NWA struck first.... diary, I highly recommend it as an amazing read. He was not only a great diary writer but also great at commenting, as well during the early days. With as great a read and as long as Battle lines lasted, I definitely feel the need to give him the nomination.

the ismailite

the ismailite has gotten Hall of Fame nods from me for several years running and will continue to do so until I'm gone or he is in. He was a huge influence on me back in the early days. He has several diaries from which to choose. His Black Saturday diaries, in particular, are excellent reads and I would definitely recommend them just as with Battle lines above. I am not sure if he is even around anymore. His profile says it's been over a year since he was last on the boards. If he is still around, here's to you.
