Loving Clarkson's badass presentation and Doctor D. Strukto. Not that the rest aren't great, but those are my real standouts so far in terms of character work.

Oh and by the way, you used the portraits of the Patriot Act in the main event instead of Jolson and Silencer. Might wanna edit things.

As Dread made his way to locker room they circled around to listen to what he had to say. He took a minute to reflect on how that was his third show in a row he’d been ringside for the main event and not in Gorilla. He hated that but he was so focused on making the shows work, he forgot that the focus isn’t supposed to be on him...he would have to change that. Druss could stand on his own, and he had begun to sense that having him at ringside was more distracting than helpful to his protege. He decided right there to stop appearing with Druss during matches.

D: Alright boys listen up, good show tonight. Some things worked and some things didn’t. That’s not all on you, sometimes you throw things out there expecting magic and you get crap instead. It happens. Let’s learn from it.

His speech tonight was a little different than it had been. They had received a lot of praise recently but he needed to bring them back down, so they build towards Clash of the Titans in May. They had two months to prepare for their biggest event of the year and he needed them to focus on getting better.

D: FEAR! You did good. Not great but good. You stuck to what I told you and kept some mystery to your in ring work. Your timing with Druss was all over the place though. You guys didn’t look like a team out there! That’s ok though, that’ll come with experience. Something you can both work on.

Druss and FEAR both nod thoughtfully as Dread continues his notes.

D: Clarkson and Zilla. That strap match was weak. You guys are better than that, what happened?

Q: Inexperience, Coach. I’ve never been in a match like that before and I just wasn’t sure what to do at some points.

D: What about you Clarkson? What's your excuse?

CC: Fatigue, Coach.

D: Fatigue?!

CC: Yes Coach. Can we discuss it later in your office?

D: Alright then. Moving on. Anti Americans and Dem Boys has the best match of the night and probably one of the best matches I’ve seen here since we started! Clap it up for em!

The locker room claps and congratulates the two gracious tag teams.

D: Seriously. You guys had great chemistry and Kinjite you looked like a star out there!

K: Thank you coach.

D: Thank you for putting your heart into that performance.

Kinjite offers a bow in Dreads direction. Dread surveys the crowded locker room before continuing.

D: For those of you who don’t know, Druss is gonna be out for a bit this month doing some work for BCG in Japan, so I’ll be handling the card and the training solo. That means I expect you senior guys to step up and help me out especially with the trainees.

LR: Yes Coach!

D: Everyone helps break down tonight. Make it happen. I’ll see you all on Friday. Clarkson, my office.

The crew heads out of the locker room to break down the ring and Dread and Clarkson head to the back office.

This had been on Clarkson’s mind for awhile and while he had never been shy about speaking his mind, he wanted to choose his words carefully and respectfully. After all he owed Dread a lot. He had shown him a whole new career and a way to provide for his family after his Hockey career ended. He just needed something to change...

D: Have a seat Carl. What’s going on?

C: Look, Coach, I’m sorry about my performance tonight but there’s a problem. I don’t wanna tell you how to do your job and I get the character you’re trying to build here and I appreciate it but I don’t think it’s for me. It’s just not where I wanna go with my career, I don’t wanna be THAT guy ya know? Ya, I’m a tough guy but my wife is tired of me comin home so beat up and I don’t think it would be as big of a problem if I was just workin regular matches. So I appreciate everything you have done for me but if we can’t come to an agreement on this then I think it’s best I go elsewhere.

Dread furrowed his brow. He could see the pain on Clarkson’s face and it shocked him he hadn’t seen it sooner. He was building a character but hadn’t considered that the man underneath might not want that. He thought about his words before he spoke again.

D: Carl...above all else this is a training school. If you’re not happy with what you’re doing then of course we will adjust. Let’s try tweaking the character a bit. Physical but not brutal and see how that goes for you. And if it’s not working we will find you something else. I want to inform you that the path you’re on right now has had IPW, PSW and GSW send out some feelers on you but if you’re not comfortable working this style then those are not the right companies for you to entertain. Are you sure this is what you want?

C: Yes Coach I am very sure.

D: Ok...I have some ideas. I want you to try and put on some weight over the next few months. Come to training on Monday and we will discuss it some more and start working on changes. Ok?

C: yes Coach, thank you Coach.

D: Have a goodnight

C: you too Coach.

Dread jotted down some notes on the pad of paper next to his laptop. It was his job to make sure these guys succeeded in a character and style they were comfortable with, something they could carry with them to other companies. He was pulled from his thoughts by a knock at his door. Druss poked his head inside.

Druss: will do, Boss. Thanks for getting this for me.

Dread: Just don’t embarrass me

Druss: *Chuckles* I’ll do my best. Don’t stay too late tonight. Though I’m not sure how you’ll manage without me.

Dread: Neither do I...

They both share a laugh as Druss heads out the door. The truth was that Dread was very nervous. Has he made the right decision? Was Druss ready? Was he ready? He cared about all his students but Druss had become a friend.

Dread entered the TITAN Factory, it was a brisk morning and earlier than anyone that sets their own hours should really be up. As he walked through the door way he hear the sound of someone running the ropes in the ring. Who could possibly be here, no one ever beat him in the building. Though Druss had tried many times. As his eyes adjusted to the low light, he saw Carl Clarkson in the ring going through the prep drills. He was impressed. He was now sure of how important this change was to Carl and that he had made the right decision in the direction he wanted to go.

D: What are you doing here so early Carl?

C: Just getting an early start in, Coach. Figured I'd catch ya here early and warm up so we could start going over those changes we talked about. I wanna tell you grateful I am that youre listening to me on this and didn't just put me out.

D: Don't mention it...it's my job to help you. I'm going to do my job. So lets get into my vision, you can add and take away as you see fit and I will help you solidify it in your image. Ok?

C: Yes Coach. I'm ready.

D: I've been watching tapes of you all week. Trying to figure out what to tweak and how best to change your character without destroying it. At the end of the day I still want you to be the "Killer". Does that make sense?

C: I believe so, Coach.

D: Good. So youre going to be something I believe died in wrestling a long time ago. I want you to be a throwback to the old monsters of wrestling. Before the SWF brought along sports entertainment. Im talking the kind of monsters that made fans quake in the territory days, without having to be demons or warlords. Just straight terrifying, unforgiving, bad dudes who could really hurt you. You're gonna watch AAFW, Dick The Devastator, stuff like that. Really get into it. We're gonna tweak your ring style, your ring presence. You have all the tools, I don't know why I didn't see this before. You do this right, Kid...you're gonna be big!

C: Sounds good to me, Coach. When do we start?

D: Right now...here's your new ring gear.

Glad he’s getting so much love! I am really happy with the new direction for the character. Hopefully this gets him some interest while he’s waiting for a good storyline.

If I may pull back the curtain a bit, I really wanted a hardcore wrestler to work with and his render made me think that’s what he should be doing. I wanted to build a Terry Funk Or Cactus Jack but Clarkson wasn’t feeling it between the matches not playing to his strengths and the emails saying he needed to rest I decided to ask him to put on weight and change him up. Then I played it into the narrative. Glad you guys are still enjoying the story. I’ll try and have the match card and poster for Cage of Chaos up tomorrow
