NXT TakeOver: New York opens with a video set in the subways of New York City. With every passing train we see a highlight reel of the main matches: NXT Championship, NXT Womens Title, NXT UK Title and the Four Way Dance. Each train fades out into another train featuring the next match. The trains finally reach their destination and fans pour out chanting “We Ae NXT” as they walk up the stairs and out of the subway to their destination….the Barclay’s Center. The video ends with a wide shot of Barclay’s with the NYC skyline in the background while the fans continue to chant “We Are NXT”.

The video then cuts to: "And now, NXT & NXT U.K. present…NXT TakeOver: New York"

Bacrlay’s Center – New York City – Attendance: 19,000 – SOLD OUT

The crowd comes to life as Mauro and the team announce that the hottest company in sports and entertainment is taking over the hottest city in the world. This is New York City and this is NXT TakeOver. They put over the main event tonight and then prepare us as we go to the ring for the opening contest here at TakeOver.

Rating: 8.0

Early on both men deliver stiff shots and Riddle goes for the Bro-Mission that made Dominik bail to the floor. While on the floor, Dominik throws Riddle knee first into the ring steps and begins to take down the King of Bros nearly securing a pinfall on several occasions. Riddle fights back and does a series of stiff shots to Dijakovic. He is able to hit a running knee to the head for a close two count. The King of Bros goes for another running knee but, Dominik catches Riddle’s leg, lifts him up and drops Riddle right on his head. He rolls up Matt and hooks the tights as the ref counts to 3.

The story of the match is early on Rhea & Toni start as a house of fire but then Jinny blasts Rhea from behind and Province double team Ripley dropping her head first on the steps. NXT medical officials check on the Women’s Champion while Toni Storm has to basically go it alone. Province take their time taking Storm apart but she will not give up until Rhea finally gets back onto the apron. Killer Kelly goes for a big foot but, Storm sidesteps her and hits an exploding back suplex. With Rhea cheering her on, Toni crawls to the lifeline of her partner and finally makes the tag. Kelly backs up cautiously as the champion gets into the ring. She glares at Kelly and Jinny and then TURNS AROUND AND STOMPS TONI STORM!

Kelly and Jinny join Rhea at the exact same time and the three just beat the hell out of Toni. With the ref confused, Province help’s Rhea deliver not one, but two Riptides on Storm before Jinny arrogantly covers for the 1…2…3.

After the match, Ripley sneers and looks down at Storm who is still out from the attack. The NXT United Kingdom Women’s Champion then looks at Province and gets a smile and walks over and hugs Killer Kelly & Jinny. The three women smile and laugh and it is clear that this was a set up all along. As Toni Storm comes to, Province leaves the ring and backs up the aisle gloating.

Rating: 5.2

The strategy of Bobby Fish is to keep the champion grounded and it is a strategy that works for most of the match as Fish really pounds Ricochet and works on the head and neck area of Ricochet. Bobby goes for a diving headbutt and nails it but cannot secure the victory. Bobby errors when he goes for another headbutt and Ricochet meets him up top with an exploding Hurricanrana. From there, Ricochet hits several terrific aerial moves and goes for the 450 but, Fish gets his knees up. Fish nails Sleeping With The Fishes (Roundhouse kick to the head) and covers…1..2…the champion kicks out. When Fish goes for piledriver, Ricochet is able to backdrop him, hit a kick to the jaw and then go up top and nail the 450 for the successful title defense.

A video for the Winner's Choice Fatal Fourway at TakeOver airs. In it each man talks about how they feel that their career will be defined by this shot. Each man has stumbled on their road to glory but this one match can instantly catapult them to the highest of mountains. Adam Cole, Johnny Gargano, Tye Dillinger and Aleister Black all say "this might be my last shot, I am going to make it my best" and the video ends with Cole smugly saying "And that's...Undisputed."

Rating: 7.1

Early on in the match, Cole is taken out by a Black Mass. Dillinger, Gargano and Black take their turns trading momentum and all three are able to score near falls before Cole rejoins the fray. The match takes a turn and becomes a wild brawl and Tye Dillinger is taken down with a running knee from Cole but only gains a two count thanks to Gargano breaking it up. Johnny locks in the Gargano Escape on Cole who struggles to get to the ropes, when Adam is almost there, Johnny pulls him back into the ring and locks it on again. Just as Cole looks like he is about to tap out, Aleister nails the Black Mass on an unprotected Gargano. Tye comes in and ducks under a attack from Aleister and nails the Tye Breaker on Black. Cover…1….2….Adam Cole breaks it up. Cole goes for a powerbomb onto Tye who reverses it and tries a Tye Breaker but, Cole lands on his feet and nails LAST SHOT. Cover…1….2….3.

A video package of the road to the NXT United Kingdom Championship match between Joseph Conners & Pete Dunne. The NXT UK title match is next.

This is a stiff brawl that goes inside and outside the ring with Conners focusing a lot on Dunne’s injured head from this past week’s tv. Dunne is able to fight off every advance and shake off the hits to the head but, suffers badly when he charges Conners in the corner and the challenger drops Dunne head first onto the turnbuckle. From there it seems almost inevitable as Conners hits Don’t Look Down and covers

Pete Dunne barely kicks out at the last second. Conners goes for it again but, Dunne turns it into an Impaler and begins his comeback. After some joint manipulation and a missed European Uppercut from the challenger, Joseph Conners meet’s Pete Dunne’s Bitter End for the 3 count.

At the beginning of the match, War Raiders show their dominance and force the champions to bail from the ring. When the challengers give chase, the champs are able to throw Hanson head first into the ring post and then get Rowe into the ring. Strong and O’Reilly take turns beating down Rowe while Hanson slowly gets back into the match. When the champs set up for Total Elimination, Hanson runs in and blasts Kyle from behind with a big boot to the back of the head. From there War Raiders take over and start giving Roddy what he deserves and soon they nail Fallout.

Kyle O’reilly makes it into the ring to break the count. A big brawl then ensues and during the chaos, Bobby Fish runs out and distracts the referee just as the challengers nail Fallout on Kyle. Adam Cole runs through the crowd and jumps the barrier and grabs a chair and nails Hanson in the back with the chair. When Rowe sees this, he beats the hell out of Cole who bails from the ring just as Fish gets ejected. Roddy nails a Rude Awakening and covers 1….2….Rowe kicks out.

The champs go for Total Elimination but Hanson rushes in yet again. He charges the champs but they both nail a superkick that takes Hanson down. O’Reilly & Strong then nail Total Elimination on Rowe and score the pinfall.

Winners by pinfall and still NXT Tag Team Champions: The Undisputed Era

Following the match, O’Reilly and Strong bail happily leaving War Raiders defeated once more. The announcers put over that this was War Raiders last opportunity at the titles as Hanson and Rowe stand up. The New York crowd come to their feet and give the two warriors a standing ovation that clearly moves the beasts. Hanson and Rowe point to each other and then the crowd and depart the ring to the ovation of the NXT Universe.

Rating: 7.0

The cameras pan the crowd and eventually settle on Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and Randy Orton both being shown in the crowd. The announcers remind us that while tonight is NXT’s night and the biggest night on the hottest brand, tomorrow night is the biggest night in the industry. They put over Ronda Rousey main eventing Wrestlemania tomorrow night and show how hot NXT is for Ronda and for Randy Orton to be here the night before such a big night. The announcers remind us to not miss Wrestlemania tomorrow night live from MetLife Stadium, streaming on the award winning WWE Network.

A hype video shows a cage lowering to the ring intercut with videos of Nikki Cross being crazy, Kairi Sane being daring and Shayna Baszler in MMA and during her dominant run in NXT. Kairi says she will risk her soul to win the NXT Womens Title. Shayna says she will break bones and have hers broken to remain champ. Nikki just says "FUN" and laughs as the cage lowers into the ring to end the video.

Rating: 7.4

For the first portion of the match, all three women attempt to escape the cage. Eventually the Queen of Spades throws both women into the cage and starts to dominate. It takes Kairi and Nikki teaming up and picking up the champion, putting her on their shoulders and using her head as a battery ram into the steel mesh over and over again to even the score. With Shayna down, Kairi and Nikki score near falls on each other before Baszler fights back in it.

The finish comes when Kairi Sane scales the top of the cage but, instead of going down the cage, she prepares to fly off with the IN-Sane Elbow. With the crowd egging her on, she leaps and connects but Shayna has caught Sane and locked in the Kirifuda! Kairi rolls around and tries to fight it off while Shayna keeps the hold on. Out of nowhere, Nikki Cross is seen on the top of the cage. She screams “FUN” and then leaps off the cage crashing onto Shayna with a Leg Drop from the top of the cage!!! Nikki crawls over and covers Shayna Baszler…1….2….NEW CHAMPION!

After the match, we see Shayna shocked at her loss and then cut to the back where Jay Lethal and Tommaso Ciampa are seen coming out of the locker rooms. They then walk down the hall towards the Gorilla Position as the NXT Championship match is next.

Rating: 7.5

A music video airs of all that has transpired since Tommaso Ciampa won the NXT Championship and then shows the arrival into NXT of Jay Lethal. The video focuses on each man’s determination to be NXT Champion and finally ends on the face off this past week on NXT with “Goldie” raised high.

Rating: 7.3

The two engage in a technical clinic to start the match with both men trying to score pinfall’s and both men almost scoring submissions. After frustration from the champ and the challenger, the technical aspect ends and a brawl ensues. Lethal scores with a release German Suplex and then does the Macho Elbow Drop from the top rope but Tommaso rolls out of the ring before the challenger can cover.

Jay Lethal ascends to the top and flies off but the champion catches him with a punch to the stomach and Lethal crashes into the ring barrier. Ciampa drops Lethal back first on the ring barrier and then throws him back into the ring. Ciampa hits a GTS and covers but the challenger kicks out at 2. Ciampa locks in a half Boston Crab and Lethal struggles but eventually makes it to the ropes. When the champion goes for the kill, Lethal nails a superkick and both men are down on the mat.

The challenger regains control but his injured back hinders any real momentum. Ciampa drops several knees onto the back of Lethal and sets up to nail Project Ciampa. The champion hits his finish and covers….1…..2……Lethal kicked out!

Ciampa can’t believe it but he is back on the attack. Tommaso nails a backstabber but again Lethal kicks out. Ciampa goes for a backbreaker but the challenger rolls the champion up for a near fall.

Lethal mounts a comeback and goes for the Lethal Injection but his back fails. The champion signals for Project Ciampa once more, he goes for it, Lethal turns the Powerbomb position into a hurricanrana and when Ciampa bounces off the ropes – LETHAL INJECTION.

NEW CHAMPION!

Rating: 6.8

Tommaso Ciampa rolls to the floor and sits there in stunned disbelief as Jay Lethal is handed the NXT Championship. Members of Jay Lethal’s family are shown with tears in their eyes. Lethal goes to the floor and hugs his mom and dad before getting back into the ring. The new NXT Champion has tears in his eyes as he stands on the second turnbuckle and raises the title high just as confetti falls from the top of the Barclay’s Center. Lethal’s teary eyes surrounded by confetti are the last thing we see as NXT TakeOver: New York goes off the air.

Each team sees all members get tagged in and show some solid offense and their usual spots. There is also evident distrust between AJ Styles and Randy Orton. SAnitY has control and is teeing off on the Miz in their corner when he makes a tag to Rusev but the referee claims he didn’t see it. SAnitY drags the Miz back to their side of the ring. Miz puts on a flurry of offense and almost gets to his corner but Harper is holding him back. Styles suddenly vaults to the top and hits a Phenomenal Forearm on Harper while the Miz dives and tags Orton. Orton goes on the attack and hits an RKO on Harper when all of SAnitY breaks it up. The ten man brawl erupts again but the referee lets it play out. On the outside the Miz is put on a table and Killian Dain climbs to the top and cannonballs off it but the Miz moves and Dain implodes the table, while looking legitimately hurt and holding his hip area. In the ring Orton and Eric Young are going at it when Styles makes a blind tag and when Young turns around he walks right into a superkick. Strowman starts off by throwing Cena across the ring much to the sixteen-time champion’s surprise. This continues as Strowman physically dominates Cena and uses his size to keep control of the match. It spills to the outside and Cena gains some control when he dodges a charge by Strowman and the Monster goes head first into the ringpost. Cena batters Strowman and they get back in the ring. Cena hits his usual spots such as running shoulder blocks and even hits a dropkick off the second rope. Strowman is down and Cena dusts off his shoulder for the Five Knuckle Shuffle but as Cena hits the ropes Strowman pops up and grabs him by the throat delivering a chokeslam and covers but Cena kicks out. Strowman stalks his challenger, punishing Cena but grows frustrated that Cena keeps kicking out. Strowman plants a big boot in Cena’s face and climbs to the top rope but Cena runs up to meet him and hits a Super Attitude Adjustment. He covers and hooks the leg. 1 2 Kickout! Cena looks stunned. He gets up, favoring his own lower back and begins picking up Strowman when the champion scoops Cena up out of instinct and delivers a powerslam. Strowman isn’t done though. The Monster just looks angry and whips Cena into the corner before charging in with an avalanche. Cena falls face first but is still crawling. Strowman stalks him and picks him up but this time Strowman, with Cena on his shoulder, steps up to the second rope and flies off with a powerslam and makes the cover. 1 2 3. The big man gets back in but the referee stops him allowing the Bar to reclaim the advantage. This goes on for a few more moments before Tucker breaks loose again and makes the tag to Otis. Otis begins cleaning house, flattening both champions with heavy clotheslines. He’s non stop in his attacks, using his immense strength to throw the champions around the ring. Tucker re-enters and a four man brawl begins. Otis is sent to the outside and Cesaro holds Tucker but when Sheamus goes for a Brogue Kick, Tucker moves and Cesaro takes the full effect. Otis is back in the ring and when Sheamus turns around he walks right into Otis’ arms. Tucker bounds off the ropes and they crush Sheamus with the Compactor for the win. On the tron we see a spotlight but instead of a bat it’s Triple H’s iron cross and the car drives out onto the stage. Triple H steps out of the car, looking ready for battle…...until Shane McMahon comes running out interrupting the entrance with something in his arms. When he gets into the light we see he has a sledgehammer and he slams it into Triple H’s back. Shane continues to attack Triple H, beating him up all the way down the rampway to the ring. When they get down to the ring Triple H suckers Shane into approaching before flinging him into the ringpost. Now it’s the Game’s turn to deal out punishment and he batters Shane around the ringside area. Shane looks red faced and spent as Triple H lays him atop the announcer’s table before he climbs up and tries to deliver a Pedigree but Shane backdrops him off the table to the floor. When Triple H gets up Shane jumps off the table with a half flying forearm and half tackle. As he’s talking to Mr. McMahon he’s crouched over Shane drilling him with right hands. McMahon begins walking towards the time keeper’s table. Triple H picks Shane up positioning him for a Pedigree again and he again reminds Mr. McMahon that he can end it. With his attention distracted, Shane pulls Triple H’s legs out from under him and quickly puts on the worst looking Sharpshooter anyone has ever seen. Almost instantly the bell begins to ring. Shane ditches out of the ring and Mr. McMahon quickly joins him as the ring announcer does their job. The opening sees the champion getting it from both sides but when Charlotte rolls to the outside for safety, Asuka lays into Trish with a series of kicks. The two challengers go at it for several minutes and Trish gets the crowd behind her with some of her usual moves. Charlotte gets back in the ring and flattens Trish from behind with a forearm. Charlotte goes back and forth attacking both challengers but Asuka blocks a punch and fires back at Flair with a series of strikes before clotheslining Charlotte over the top and following her to the outside. As Asuka keeps up the attack Trish climbs to the top and flies off with a cross body block on both Asuka and Charlotte. Trish is about to pick up Charlotte when the champion yanks her head first into the post. Charlotte then begins working over Trish’s left knee. Asuka comes up from behind and begins brawling with Flair to the announcer’s table. Asuka gets the advantage and gets on the apron but before she can jump off Charlotte lifts her up and off the apron and powerbombs Asuka through the announcer’s table. Asuka is down on the outside of the ring and now Charlotte goes in for the kill on Trish. She focuses on Trish’s injured left knee before throwing her back in the ring. Charlotte stalks the Hall of Famer like a predator, stomping on the leg as Trish tries to drag herself to her feet. With Trish in the corner Charlotte charges with a big boot but Trish ducks and Charlotte kicks the turnbuckle before going down in a heap holding her own leg. Asuka climbs onto the apron and she and Trish trade right hands before Trish hits a Chick Kick and sends Asuka down to the floor again. Charlotte moves in quickly, kicking Trish behind her knee to drop her in position for Natural Selection. Asuka dives into the ring to break it up but she’s inches short as the ref counts to three. Lesnar tries to get up and clear the cobwebs but Angle seems relentless and hits a german suplex on the Beast. Lesnar rushes to his feet and walks into a belly to belly suplex and quickly puts on the Ankle Lock gut Lesnar kicks Angle off. Heyman is shouting for Lesnar to roll out and he does. He only gets a moment to rest when Angle follows him out but Lesnar turns to meet Angle and delivers a release belly to belly, throwing Angle into the crowd barrier. Lesnar spends the next several minutes punishing Angle. As the Beast puts Angle back in the ring he follows, yelling for him. When Angle does, Lesnar clubs him down before putting the Ankle Lock on Angle. Angle struggles as Heyman screams for him to quit but he uses a lunge and momentum to sling Lesnar forward into the turnbuckles. Lesnar staggers back as Angle tackles him with his own form of ground and pound. After a few strikes, Lesnar rolls on top and begins using elbows, busting Angle open. The referee immediately puts the gloves on and checks Angle but Lesnar shoves the referee out of the way and continues his assault. Blood is running down Angle’s face when Lesnar finally relents. The referee again checks on Angle who doesn’t want to stop. Heyman tells Lesnar to finish him but when Lesnar bends down Angle puts him in a triangle choke. Lesnar is stuck and he can’t break out. Just as it looks like Lesnar may be in real trouble Angle’s grip loosens and he passes out from the blood loss and the referee calls for the bell. Lesnar falls on his back gasping for air but he’s the winner. This pattern continues but Mysterio keeps kicking out of pin attempts. Andrade whips Rey into the corner and charges but Mysterio rolls out of the way of a big splash. Andrade cracks his head off the post and falls back on his back. Instead of focusing on him Rey quickly goes to the top and flies with a cross body block onto Kaval and Dagan wiping both of them out. With the Cartel neutralized, Mysterio returns to the ring but Andrade meets him with a heavy right hand before scooping him up and delivering a shoulder breaker. Andrade climbs to the top but Mysterio crotches him by hitting the ropes. Mysterio climbs up and delivers a hurricanrana from the top. He makes the cover but Zelina is on the apron distracting the referee. Mysterio goes over allowing Andrade to regroup. When Andrade charges, Rey trips him causing him to fall into Zelina knocking her to the floor but also putting him in a resting position on the ropes. Andrade is a sitting duck for the 619 and when it connects Rey makes the cover for the win. Move for move, counter for counter, Bryan and Balor put on a non stop show for their audience. Bryan controls the early going, wearing down his challenger, grinding away looking for any weakness for a quick submission but Balor always manages to get to the ropes or get out of danger. Balor reverses an Irish Whip and charges in, clotheslining Bryan over the top and then immediately following up with a suicide senton onto the champion. Balor is building momentum and rolls Bryan back into the ring but when he enters Bryan kicks him in the knee and quickly rolls him into a small package but Balor kicks out. Bryan gets to his feet and begins laying in a series of Yes! kicks but when he goes for the head Balor dodges it hits a jumping knee in Bryan’s face. The champion is stunned, and Balor follows up with a couple slingblade clotheslines. Bryan is laying on his back as Balor quickly goes to the top looking for his finisher but the Champion rolls out of the ring for a breather. It doesn’t turn into much of one as Balor simply turns and soars off the top with moonsault onto Bryan. The crowd is on its feet as Bryan is rolled back into the ring and the Demon cliambs to the top again but Bryan leaps for the rope and crotches him. Climbing to the top the champion delivers a release Belly to Belly and makes the cover but Balor kicks out at 2 ½. Balor is sucking wind and Bryan moves in for the kill putting him in the LaBell Lock. The champion berates his challenger as he punishes him. Balor reaches the rope but Bryan won’t break it, telling the referee to disqualify him but the referee refuses to give him the easy way out. Finally the referee prys his fingers loose enough for Balor to escape. Bryan begins arguing with the referee and shoves him but the referee shoves him back. All the while giving Balor needed time to recover. When Bryn moves in, Balor begins firing right hands but Bryan catches his hand and twists his arm into a chickenwing. Balor fights to get out of it, ramming Bryan back into the corner several times. Bryan releases and goes to the outside, returning with a chair. He charges Balor and swings but Balor ducks and hits a spinning heel kick, knocking the chair into Bryan’s face. Bryan is out and Balor, exhausted, climbs to the top and with the crowd on their feet he jumps off hitting the Coup de Grace. He makes the cover and gets the 1...2…..3. A four man brawl is all over the ringside area. McIntyre is paired off with Ambrose who takes glee is rubbing the Scottsman’s face across the cell’s fencing. On the other side Rollins and Ziggler are fighting by the doorway when Ziggler ducks a superkick and responds with a low kick dropping Rollins to his knees. Ziggler follows up with a low stomp before moving to help his partner. He attacks Ambrose from behind, then lifts the stairs grabbing something hidden there. We quickly see it’s a pair of handcuffs and they cuff Ambrose’s left wrist to the cell. With only one arm to defend himself he’s quickly punched and kicked and stomped the floor. They leave him to work Rollins over, getting back in the ring and beginning to pick Seth apart. Officials run down to the cell trying to free Ambrose but to no avail. Rollins is picked up and held in place by McIntyre as Ziggler taunts him. When Rollins tries to fight back he’s pummelled. This pattern continues as they taunt Ambrose every time they hurt Rollins. Finally a referee with bolt cutters comes down and cuts the chain on the cuffs. Ambrose is free and has a wild look in his eyes. As Ziggler and McIntyre tee off on Rollins in the ring, Ambrose reaches under the ring and pulls out a long bag. Opening it he shows off what he promised to bring, a barbed wire baseball bat. He slides in the ring and introduces his friend to his opponents first Ziggler then McIntyre. The crowd comes alive as Ambrose rakes the wire over Ziggler’s forehead. He turns to do the same to McIntyre but the Scottish Psychopath is up already and launches a Claymore which sends Ambrose to the outside. Rollins has recovered and when McIntyre turns around Rollins connects with a superkick in the face. McIntyre drops to his hands and knees in perfect position for a stomp. Rollins hits it and makes the cover 1, 2, Ziggler leaps and breaks it up with blood running down his forehead. Rollins and Ziggler begin trading right hands as Ambrose climbs back into the ring sans bat. He and Rollins double team Ziggler who’s really got the blood flowing. Ambrose puts Ziggler on the top and Rollins climbs up to deliver a Superplex, rolls through it, and hits the Falcon Arrow. McIntyre begins to stir and Ambrose pulls him into Dirty Deeds. Both men make the covers and the ref counts to three. The Revival are thrown around and battered and they take a powder to the outside to regroup. AOP gives chase but it’s a trap and the revival send them both into posts. The champions roll Akam back into the ring and begin constant double teams but he kicks out of all pin attempts. After several minutes he finally breaks free and tags in Rezar. Rezar flattens Dawson with a series of clotheslines then brings Wilder in and gives him the same treatment. Akam comes back in and it’s a brief four man brawl. Dawson is tossed to the outside and the referee struggles to get Akam out of the ring. Dawson grabs one of the tag title belts and re-enters the ring but Rezar turns and catches him entering. Dawson is picked up by the throat but he tosses the belt to Wilder who clocks Rezar in the back on the head. Wilder makes the cover and Akam can’t get back in the ring fast enough to stop the count. He says maybe the Undertaker is afraid of KO. It only makes sense since KO is the best wrestler in the WWE and especially in Canada which means the most. This time before the mic can be ripped away, Undertaker catches Owens’ wrist and KO turns pale. The Undertaker pulls him in close and simply says…. “You talk too much.” Quickly, Undertaker scoops up Owens and delivers a Tombstone in the middle of the ring. Becky Lynch is introduced first and climbs to the second rope as the crowd roars when suddenly Ronda Rousey rushes across the ring and shoves her down to the floor. Becky topples awkwardly, hitting the apron on her way down. Rousey wastes no time sliding out and begins attacking Lynch’s left arm. Because they’re out of the ring the referee hasn’t called for the bell. Rousey throws Becky into the ring post shoulder-first then slides in the ring going through a little warm up dance as the crowd boos. Becky forces herself to her feet and slides into the ring holding that left arm/shoulder. Once she’s to her feet the referee rings the bell. Rousey moves in for the kill, peppering Lynch with rights and lefts in the corner. Becky covers up trying to deflect as many as she can but this looks like a mugging. When the barrage ends Lynch lashes out with a right hand which connects clearly and Ronda is rocked, moving back on her heels and putting her hands to her face. Graves comments that Ronda may have a broken nose. Lynch sprints out of the corner and spears Ronda to the mat. She begins her own version of ground and pound as we see some fresh blood on the mat. When Becky relents we see its from Rousey’s nose which indeed is looking broken. Lynch picks Rousey up by her hair and delivers a slingshot suplex which gets a two count. Rousey still looks stunned but sneaks in a right hand body shot which drops Becky to a knee. Ronda lands a solid kick the side of her head which has Becky seeing stars. Ronda picks her up and hits a series of judo throws, each one knocking the air out of Becky. Ronda goes back to work on that left arm and seems pissed off about her nose which she keeps wiping at as the blood flows down her chin. Ronda is trash talking Becky as she stalks her into the corner but when Ronda goes in, Becky uses her momentum and pulls her face first into the turnbuckles. Ronda goes down in a heap holding her face again as the referee checks on her. Becky climbs to the top but Rousey explodes off the mat and crotches her before tagging her with a right hand to the face. Becky is stunned as Ronda climbs up and puts Lynch on her shoulders. Ronda screams out ‘Who’s the Man?” to the crowd’s jeers and delivers a Piper’s Pit from the second rope. She makes the cover. 1 2 Becky kicks out! Ronda is beyond frustrated. She picks Becky up by the hair and sets her up for a DDT but Becky reverses it into a bridged Northern Lights Suplex for a close two count. Becky sneers as she gets to her feet and calls Ronda to fight. They begin trading right hands, each staggering when they take the punch but keeping on their feet. Becky finally ducks Ronda’s strike and sneaks behind her for a dropping neck breaker. Becky looks cold blooded as she picks up Ronda and delivers a Becksploder and instantly gets on top of Rousey and applies the DisarmhHer. Ronda is dragging herself and Becky towards the ropes. Teeth gritted, nose bleeding, black eyes beginning to form she won’t give up. She stretches out, inches from the bottom rope and can’t get there…. Rousey taps out. yeah that was a really good show! All in all a top wrestlemania weekend. Looking forward for the RAW/SD after. Would expect maybe the Roman but definitely the KO return to normally be on the Raw after, I liked the swerve of having it be on WM itself but hopefully there's still some good stuff planned for what's normally the biggest RAW/SD of the year.

We are greeted by new faces at the announcer’s desk. Renee Young and Pat McAfee welcome us to the new Smackdown Live and agree that they are both definitely shook up to be here on the blue brand. Before they go much further the new C.E.O. of Smackdown Live makes her way down to the ring.

Stephanie gets a mic and she doesn’t look happy. She says that she wishes she could say she was happy to be back but given the mess that her brother Shane left behind it’s hard to think of this as a positive. Lucky for the WWE Universe there is finally someone in charge who understands what’s best for business. She doesn’t get much farther before she’s interrupted by the new WWE Champion.

Finn Balor comes to the ring and says that as WWE Champion he is the chief defender of Smackdown Live. He’ll defend it against any threat, even a billion dollar princess. Stephanie laughs that off and says if he’s all about defending then he can put that title on the line….right now.

We see Ember Moon backstage fresh from RAW. Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville approach and tell her to get comfortable because Smackdown is still their show and some transplant isn’t going to cut in their line. Ember tells them if they have a problem with her, they can take it up in the ring. They back off but Mandy says she’ll see Ember later.

Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins vs War Raiders

War Raiders have arrived and they run through Ryder and Hawkins like a buzzsaw. They dominate the match, eventually putting Hawkins out thanks to Hanson coming off the top with a guillotine leg drop.

Backstage Andrade is pacing, furious about his WrestleMania loss. He says what make sit worse is that dog Mysterio ran away with the title that should be his and then lost it. He tells his Cartel that there will be no more disappointments and no more failures. He tells Zelina to make sure the men are ready and she nods. Andrade then tells her their conquest and control of Smackdown Live begins next week.

Bray Wyatt steps into the Funhouse looking like he’s lost a little weight. He welcomes us and says how much he’s missed his Fireflies. His tone is flat, like he’s just reading cue cards. Suddenly a manic smile spreads and he introduces us to Mercy the Buzzard, Ramblin’ Rabbit, and Abby the Witch. He tells us the Funhouse will always be their home and it will always be ours. Remember, when you feel sad, pain is temporary…..but it shouldn’t be. He again burts into a stupid grin and waves telling us to come back next week.

Charlotte is on the stage with Kharma. She says that just as she predicted and even Stevie Wonder could see coming, she is STILL the Smackdown Live Women’s Champion. A Hall of Famer couldn't get it done. An Empress couldn’t get it done. And why? Because she is the Queen and she will rule forever. So whether you like it or not, learn to love it, because Charlotte is the best thing going today. Wooooooooooo!

As they’re walking to the back the new Intercontinental Champion Velveteen Dream comes out and passes them with an exchange of glances. He’s on Smackdown Live and he’ll defend his title next after the break!

Axel holds his own and then some, really giving Velveteen a tough title defense. Axel is going for the Perfect Plex but Velveteen blocks it, then delivers a snap suplex into the corner. A spinebuster later planting Axel in the middle of the ring is all Dream needs to hit Purple Rainmaker for the win.

Velveteen is basking in the glory of his victory when Kassius Ohno hops the barrier and slides in the ring, sizing him up. Velveteen turns around right into a brutal elbow strike knocking him cold. Ohno picks up the Intercontinental title belt and holds it up over the fallen champion.

Ember Moon vs Mandy Rose

Ember looks like she has something to prove and takes it to Mandy from the opening bell. Mandy manages to get some offense in, usually associated with a distraction by Sonya on the outside. But that is fleeting as Ember hits the Eclipse from the top for the win.

Ember doesn’t have much time to enjoy her first Smackdown Live victory. As she’s standing on the stage she’s suddenly attacked from behind.

The Goddess is on Smackdown Live and she keeps bashing forearms into the back of Ember’s head. Mandy and Sonya run up to join in and all three stomp Ember before being forced away by officials. McAfee comments that if the three of them are on the same page that is bad news for the entire Smackdown Live Women’s Division.

McIntyre isn’t finished and is waiting for Seth to get back up, lining him up for a Claymore when the crowd erupts.

Roman Reigns comes running down to the ring. McIntyre goes for a big boot to the face but Reigns runs under it, bounds off the ropes and hits a Superman Punch, sending Drew to the outside. Reigns checks on Rollins as McIntyre tells Reigns this isn’t over as we go to break.

Brock Lesnar and his Advocate come down to the ring. Renee Young is asking if this is the biggest name ever to be moved in a Shakeup and how big this is for Smackdown Live. Heyman begins his usual spiel introducing himself and Lesnar but Lesnar taps him on the shoulder and motions for the microphone.

Lesnar says that two nights ago he retired the guy who in his opinion is the second best athlete to ever be in a ring. He says he’s been in wrestling his whole adult life and he’s become the greatest combat sports athlete in history. He pauses and Heyman is beginning to look emotional. Lesnar says that he has one person to thank for that and that is Paul Heyman who has been probably the best friend he’s ever had aside from Rena. Lesnar pauses again and looks at Heyman who’s expression goes from teary eyed to wide eyed as he yells “Brock!”

Out of nowhere Lesnar is blindsided by Lars Sullivan. Sulllivan manhandles Lesnar into the corner and begins hammering him but Lesnar fights back and the two begin tussling but Sullivan swats away a right hand strike by Lesnar and scoops him up for the Freak Accident. Heyman, who had quickly evacuated the ring is yelling for Lesnar to get up but Sullivan isn’t done.

Sullivan picks up Lesnar and piefaces him over the top rope to the floor before following. The announcers quickly leave their table as Sullivan clears it of monitors then grabs a chair. Lesnar is dazed but he’s pulling himself up and Sullivan swings. There’s a moment of awkwardness as Lesnar turned the wrong way and the chair connects flush to the head, cutting him the hard way. If Lesnar was acting dazed before now he’s really out of it. Sullivan throws some right hands aimed at the cut on his brow spreading the blood and rolls Lesnar onto the announcers table. Sullivan returns to the ring and climbs to the top. Heyman is shouting ‘Oh my God’ and ‘Wake up Brock’ but Sullivan soars with a diving headbutt and they both crash through the table. It takes a moment or two but Sullivan pulls himself out of the wreckage and stares down at the fallen Beast as the show ends with Renee Young calling for help.

Overall:
Seth Rollins vs Drew McIntyre

Back and forth, these two are still sporting nagging injuries from their Hell in a Cell match two nights before. They battle in and out of the ring but Rollins pulls away late and begins building momentum. He drops McIntyre to all fours and goes in for the stomp when McIntyre clearly and intentionally punches him below the belt. The referee calls for the bell.

The Undisputed Era break into Mauro's welcome and make their way to the ring with everyone but, Bobby Fish looking happy. They get into the ring and gloat about their victories Saturday night as well as the ramifications of them. Adam says that he ran Johnny Gargano & Aleister Black out of NXT and O'reilly & Strong say they ran War Raiders away. Bobby says that at TakeOver, Ricochet got lucky and that eats at his soul so he is asking for one more chance against the North American Champion because next time, Ricochet's luck will run out.

Kyle & Roddy then really start to gloat and say that they are head and shoulders above every team in NXT now. They say there is no one that has the pedigree or the skill level to pose a real threat. The tag team division is now theirs because that's un.....

The NXT arena at Full Sail comes alive with shock as the Eddie Edwards & Davey Richards, the American Wolves, make an unexpected appearance. Mauro puts over that this is the first time that they have been together as a team in 3 plus years. All of the guys in the Undisputed Era are shocked. The Wolves say that Roddy & Kyle think that it's undisputed that they're the best? Well, the Wolves dispute that. It's been awhile but the American Wolves are here to reclaim their mantle as the best tag team in the world. So, if the champs aren't cowards, how about they try to prove that they're the best against the American Wolves....tonight.

The Undisputed Era look stunned but then Cole whispers in their ears and Roderick responds. He tells the Wolves that they will accept any challenge and tonight is no different but, the Wolves have not earned a title shot. The champs agree to a match tonight but it will be non-title. The American Wolves call them cowards but accept the offer.

Tonight, the American Wolves reunite to take on Kyle O'Reilly & Roderick Strong in our main event.

Candice tries and even gets some offense but, she is no match for the fury of the former women's champion. Baszler does some stiff judo strikes before dumping Candice on the back of her neck with a powerbomb and locking in the Kirifuda. Candice, quickly and wisely, taps out.

Well, lets have fun again because until Cross says yes, the Queen of Spades will break every woman in NXT.

A video airs to promote our debuting wrestler here tonight and in the video we see WWE Hall of Famer, Tully Blanchard, talking about his daughter Tessa. While he hypes up her skills, we see video of Tessa working out at the Performance Center and dominating the women she is in the ring with including head trainer, Sara Amato. Tully promises that the women's division will soon belong to Tessa. "Ladies and gentlemen, I give you savior of the women's division, the next generation...Tessa Blanchard." The video fades and cuts to a live shot where Tessa debuts.

As promised, this is a dominating effort by Tessa against MJ Jenkins. During the match, Tessa nails a Butterfly Suplex, a running knee strike and finishes her off with a Slingshot Back Suplex for the 3 count.

Mauro and Christian tell us that next week on NXT, the NEW NXT Champion, Jay Lethal will be on hand. They then take us back to the beginning of the show and show us the reuniting of the American Wolves. They take on the Undisputed Era in a non title match. It's our main event and it is next.

This is a long back and forth encounter that sees the champions be arrogant and not take the Wolves seriously, and it nearly costs them. The Wolves show that any ring rust is minimal as they throw both Roderick & Kyle around the ring and both teams fight on the floor. After a few back and forth sequences, the Undisputed Era begin to work over Eddie Edwards. Eventually Edwards is able to make the hot tag to Davey Richards and another brawl ensues that sees Roddy dispatched to the floor.

The finish comes when Edwards hits O'Reilly with a superkick who then is given a German Suplex by Richards. When Richards covers, Roderick Strong comes in with the tag team belt and nails Richards in the back of the head with it causing the disqualification.

Winners by disqualification: The American Wolves
Rating: 6.7

Following the win, the Wolves and the champs brawl with the American Wolves getting the better of the Undisputed Era and dump them on the floor. Davey and Eddie look at each other and embrace as the American Wolves have found a rebirth here in NXT. They celebrate in the ring to the fans delight when suddenly the lights go out....

Paul Ellering is on the stage and the Wolves turn their attention to him. From behind, the Wolves don't see

Rezar and Akam have snuck into the ring and they blast the Wolves from behind. The first one taken out is Davey Richards as he is hit with a Super Collider. Soon, Eddie Edwards is nailed with The Last Chapter.

During this, the champs crawl away from the ring and up to the ramp stopping before they meet Ellering. The Undisputed Era look at Ellering and then to the destruction in the ring. The Authors of Pain have returned to NXT. They point at the champions who are definitely in fear as NXT goes off the air.

I enjoyed the shows. Some of the ratings seem crazy high like Nia Jaxx and Natayla/Tamina getting A rated segments, Dream getting a 100! But I assume you've gotten a lot of popularities real high.

The first part of the video shows stills between Rhea Ripley & Toni Storm vs Province and focuses especially on the betrayal by Rhea. The women’s champ says that she is here to tell some truths tonight. The truth is that Rhea Ripley was never the friend of Toni Storm. Do you remember about a month or so ago when Kelly & Jinny handcuffed Rhea and beat the hell out of Toni? That was ALWAYS the plan. Or when Rhea and Toni attacked Province in the parking lot? Jinny & Kelly were so committed to the cause that they took one for the team. They knew what the end game was. And it was all to humiliate that New Zealand tart on the biggest stage possible.

Rhea says the truth is that you people may love Toni Storm but Toni does not have the skill or the talent or the class to hold this title. But Rhea Ripley does. And with Killer Kelly & Jinny behind her, Province has come to the United Kingdom…and that’s the truth. So, Toni? Heed this warning: stay away, return to New Zealand before it’s too late. As for tonight? Since Province is fair, some deserving competitor will get the opportunity at the NXT UK Women’s Championship here tonight. Who is that person? You’ll find out tonight.

Brookes holds his own against the “Supreme Athlete” and nearly scores a pinfall on Menzies following a jumping RKO style move but when Brookes goes for a bulldog, Menzies drops Brookes back on his head with a suplex and then, following a few more suplexes, Luke Menzies locks on the Ankle Lock for the submission victory.

This match is really used to show the dominance of the Coffey Brothers & Gallus and whenever Friends Stand United gets an advantage, Wolfgang distracts either Dennis or Andrews and suddenly the brothers Coffey have control again. The finish comes when Joe Coffey lifts Eddie Dennis up and Mark Coffey bounces off the ropes and they nail the Heart Attack for the 3 count.

They slam her into the ring barrier and throw her into the steel steps and then double powerbomb her on the floor all before the champion comes out. Province drags the unconscious Isla Dawn and hold her against the ropes as Rhea Ripley comes out arrogantly. Dawn is out cold as the champion orders the bell to be rung. After a few slaps, Ripley nails the RipTide and then arrogantly covers with 3 fingers for the 1..2..3.

MAIN EVENT:

Right as the match begins, Gradwell nails a back elbow shot that drops the champion for a very near fall. The two engage in a slug fest that is very stiff with Gradwell focusing on nailing shots to the head of the champion. Gradwell even forces Dunne to have to bail to the floor. When Gradwell goes after the champ, Dunne drops him throat first on the railing and then the champion takes control of the match with some painful joint manipulation on the challenger. Dunne goes for the Bitter End but Gradwell reverses it into a spike DDT. He nails the champion with two stiff knees to the head and covers….1……2…….kickout barely. Gradwell goes for a Piledriver but, Dunne reverses it and ducks an elbow to the head and nails the Bitter End. Dunne crawls over to cover the challenger 1….2….3.

With this woman threatening the officials, Aldis grabs the title, stands on Dunne’s unconscious body and raises the NXT United Kingdom Championship high as NXT UK fades to black.

Elias is sitting on a stool backstage tuning his guitar when suddenly he’s whacked across the back with a chair. The camera pans and we see RVD. He only says four words as he looks down at Elias. You. Me. Backlash. Extreme!

A surprisingly even match which may surprise some. Every time Bayley begins to build some momentum either Bianca slows her down or Paige distracts her. Soon though Bayley is getting red hot, enough that Paige gets on the apron and begins yelling at her. When Bayley turns her back, Bianca wraps her long ponytail around her through and begins to choke her. She won’t stop even with a five count and the referee calls for the bell.

Winner by Disqualification: Bayley

Bianca isn’t done. As Bayley lays on the mat trying to recover from being choked, Paige slides a chair into the ring. Before Bianca can walk over and pick it up Sasha Banks runs down to the ring and Bianca bails out. Sasha is glaring at Bianca and Paige as she checks on her friend.

Universal Champion Braun Strowman is walking backstage when he comes face to face with Jinder Mahal. Jinder tells Strowman that he wants that title. Braun replies that he can’t have it, but if he wants tonight he can get these hands instead. Strowman keeps moving but we have a title match tonight!

Bobby Roode is standing by with Charly Caruso. She asks him about his Universal Championship match with Braun Strowman at Backlash. Roode is smug and says he even surprised himself with how easy it was to goad the big oaf into handing that title over on a silver platter. Roode is the kind of champion RAW needs and after Backlash he’ll remold it in his own GLORIOUS image.

Nia Jax vs Eliza Roux

We hope the young lady in this match got enough to cover her medical bills. Nia dominates showing off her power and size, throwing the girl around and finally finishing her with a splash.

We see a replay of the match showing off some of Nia’s best power moves. Graves mentions if she’s like this at Backlash we’re going to have a new Womens Champion.

The Club are in their locker room looking to be in a bad mood following their loss last week to the New Day. AJ Styles smacks his hand on a locker and tells Gallows and Anderson he refuses to sit here all night and do nothing but mope. One bad night doesn’t define them. Gallows asks AJ what he wants to do about it and AJ says for them to stay put because he’s going to handle it.

Becky Lynch is backstage with Charly Caruso. Lynch says if she was supposed to fear Nia Jax because of her beating up some woman she’s not. The Man doesn’t fear……

Suddenly Nia flies into the picture, dropping Becky with a right hand. Becky, unsteady on her feet begins to get up and fight back but Nia picks her up and powerbombs her through a nearby table. Becky is down holding her ribs as Nia smirks above her before walking off with a parting ‘Fear that, Bitch.”

Tomasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano are backstage when Chad Gable and Jason Jordan approach. Gable says they feel bad that last week they weren’t able to give them a proper welcome to RAW due to the fact that Ciampa and Gargano acted like two cowards and attacked them from behind. A lot of fake chuckles and now all four men are face to face. Ciampa says that they don’t need to attack anyone from behind, it’s just more fun that way. More fake grins. Jordan suggests they have some fun at Backlash and Gargano agrees. The two teams begin to part when DIY throw some right hands but they’re blocked by American Alpha and a four man fight is on but it doesn’t last long as officials force them apart.

Charly catches up to Paige and Bianca backstage. Paige says it seems they’ve gotten Sasha’s attention. In two weeks at Backlash, the Chairwoman of WWE will teach the Boss a lesson she’ll never forget.

Kofi Kingston w/The New Day vs Mojo Rawley

Rawley uses his strength to dominate early but with his buddies encouragement Kofi digs deep and fights back, waiting for opportunity and when it presents itself he hits Trouble in Paradise for the win.

The New Day is celebrating in the ring when AJ Styles interrupts and comes down to the ring. AJ says that last week the New Day were the better men but that was last week. On behalf of his brothers Gallows and Anderson he would like to ask for a rematch at Backlash. The New Day comically huddle before Kofi agrees. Kingston and Styles shake hands and AJ leaves allowing the party to resume.

The Usos vs Robert Sharpe and Gabriel Kidd

The Usos don’t take long to put away these local opponents. It ends mercifully with a big splash off the top.

As the Usos finish their match the Revival appear on the titantron. They taunt the Usos and say the blood is on their hands. When they move away we see Arn Anderson handcuffed to a railing. He’s obviously been roughed up. Wilder has a baseball bat and Dawson begins to pull Arn towards him to make his arm taut. The Usos immediately leave the ring and sprint to the back. We see on the Tron that when they arrive at the scene the Revival are long gone. Jimmy and jey attend to the Hall of Famer and call for help.

Dean Ambrose is in his locker room, pacing. He says that people have been asking him for two weeks. Seth’s gone. Roman’s gone. What now for Dean Ambrose? Well that’s simple. He’s going to keep doing what he’s always done and that starts tonight with Rusev. He’s big and he’s strong but like the old saying goes, we all bleed the same. So Rusev better put himself in the right frame of mind because tonight he’s going to take a tour of the Asylum.

The Usos storm into Shane McMahon’s office demanding a piece of the Revival. Jey says they don’t even need it to be for the titles. They just want them. Shane says that’s fine with him, but if they do win....they’ll get a shot at those RAW Tag Team Championships. The Usos leave very pleased with themselves.

We’re shown a replay of Tamina’s brutal attack on Natalya last week. The announcers tell us Natalya didn’t make the trip to the UK due to doctor’s orders.

Braun Strowman © vs Jinder Mahal

Jinder charges Braun in the corner before the match begins and the champion is stunned. Another charge and Braun looked very dazed. A third charge and Braun grabs Mahal by the throat and delivers a huge chokeslam. Now Strowman just looks angry. He waits for Jinder to get up and destroys him with a big boot. Whipping Mahal to a corner, Strowman steamrolls him with a splash but doesn’t let him fall, instead putting him on his shoulder and driving him down with the powerslam for the win.

Winner by Pinfall and still WWE Universal Champion: Braun Strowman

A still angry Strowman calls out Bobby Roode, demanding that he come down to the ring and Roode obliges him, coming down and beginning to climb onto the apron before dropping back down to the floor with a smirk. Roode wags his finger telling Strowman he’ll get in the ring when he can win that title. This does nothing to help Braun’s disposition.

Sasha Banks and Bayley are backstage. Bayley asks Sasha if she’s accepting the challenge by Paige and Bianca. Sasha says she absolutely accepting and she can’t wait to get her hands on Bianca. Bayley says that she’s going to be in Sasha’s corner to make sure Paige stays out of it. They hug quickly and enter their locker room.

On the heels of the rundown for Backlash, Michael Cole tells us next week we’ll see the Universal and RAW Women’s champs team up in mixed tag action against their challengers Bobby Roode and Nia Jax.

Dean Ambrose vs Rusev w/Lana

Rusev controls the early minutes with his power, wearing down Ambrose and using strikes to weaken him but Ambrose fires back with some erratic offense keeping Rusev off kilter. Ambrose jumps off the second rope with a double axe handle but Rusev catches him in a bearhug and that goes on for a few minutes but Ambrose breaks out of it and rocks Rusev with a flurry of moves and finishes it off with Dirty Deeds.

Winner by Pinfall; Dean Ambrose

Ambrose climbs to the top, arms in the air celebrating his hard fought victory but he doesn’t see someone enter the ring behind him.

United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura charges in and shoves Ambrose over the ropes. Ambrose tumbles down to the floor awkwardly. Nakamura follows and goes on the attack. Ambrose doesn’t have a chance as the King of Strongstyle batters him before leaning him against the stairs. Nakamura backs off then races in hitting a Kinshasa, driving Ambrose’s head back into the stairs. As Ambrose slumps onto the ringside mat, Nakamura just smiles and poses as the show goes off the air.
