Unless the answer is "Because the game can't handle it" or "I have no way to currently incorporate it in this engine/software" (which may very well be the case, and if so, i completely understand) I see no reason to limit brands. I'm sure I'm not the only one to want more brands. There is the school of thought that NXT is a brand, and the one that says it's a child company. It is a child company, no doubt for me, and at least, from a game point of view, it should be replicated like that, but there are other reasons to want a ton load of brands that do not involve the NXT dilemma, or even other issues regarding Dev territories. It's not a deal breaker by any means, or even close to it, but it would be fun to have, hence why I mentioned it. Obviously I'm not the only one to think that way, but speaking for myself, it's not a deal breaker to have a limit. 5 is still better than 3. Unlimited would be better.

I could not agree more. I dont see why we would be capped on the number of brands at all. If I want to have 10 brands and run every show then so be it!

I know I have played a game where I started as NWA in 1985. I expanded and took over many other companies. By 1990 my dream would have been to have many brands representing the areas and companies I took over. I wanted 5 or 6 brands based on location alone and I was disjointed that I had to really had to game the system in order to keep all of my workers happy and keep myself organized. Just my two sense on the brands.

Everything else I have read sounds amazing! I have been playing Adams games since 2004 or so and every new one gets better and better, keep up the good work!

I know he hasn't said if this is his last one but so far what can get really improve on for tew 2024?

Ask this question a year after TEW2020 has been released. I'm sure by then, people will have thought of something that it's missing. But I say the same thing with every new version, "how could he possibly make anything better than this?" And here we are. :p

With moving titles, will that include between companies you have a working agreement with?

That's what alliance's and alliance titles are for.

The whole thing should be improved though. There should be a vote between member promotions before putting an alliance title on someone, so that way a title can't simply be changed without you knowing about it.

Plus alliance events would be nice.

Definitely something I'd like to see one day as well.

Combining the technical wrestling stats is one of the biggest improvements the series has ever seen. I've been calling for it forever. I'd go even further, personally, and combine all the brawling stats into one, aerial stats into one, etc. but I'm probably in the minority, so I'll take what I can.

As a database maker, I've always felt the workers have way, way too many stats. And honestly, charisma/mic skills/acting should also be combined into "promo ability". Maybe a case could be made for charisma to be its own seperate thing, but I'd be fine with getting rid of it.

Just extra clicks whenever modding to be tbh. Anyways, I very much appreciate the change that was made!

It's true, really. The EWR "Brawl, Technical, Speed" worked just as well when you get down to it.

After Strong Style got renamed "Impactful" in the styles, I wouldn't be surprised to see it combined with brawl either. I'd probably keep Hardcore separate for death matchers who otherwise can't put on a good brawling match. Ariel and Flashiness was always a good way to signify a spot monkey, but given that style is also gone, would be surprised to see those two combined into a generic "High Flying" either.

If it is just combining the technical skills though, it's still a nice change, as have all the updates been since I last posted, for the record!

Out of curiosity, how will the game convert the data (in terms of today's entry) from TEW16 to TEW20? Will it take an average of "Mat Wrestling", "Chain Wrestling" and "Submissions" to determine "Technical Wrestling"? And will the game be able to take the "Years of Service" value and determine the "Contract Start Date"? I'm just wondering if this is something that mod-makers will have to keep an eye on when updating their respective modifications.

If you are in the minority then there are atleast two of us...

Not sure which skills particularly need to be combined, but there is definitely redundance in the wrestling skills.

I'm less enthusiastic about over simplifying the non wrestling skills but even there I could see some streamlining. Does someone with high mic skills and acting need a specific colour commentary skills? I also wonder if those new tags for wrestlers could replace some skills. Menacing could be a tag for instance. Intense (a former skill that I felt made at least as much sense as menacing) could as well.

I’d argue people like Macho Man were pretty mediocre in the booth despite being one of the most charismatic workers in history. Vice versa for Corey Graves who was painfully boring as a wrestler but can at least show flashes as a commentator. There is definitely a difference with those.

The game won't convert the data at all. 16 won't be able to transfer to 20 whatsoever.

It takes the highest value, which is what is used in most TEW2016 calculations.

And will the game be able to take the "Years of Service" value and determine the "Contract Start Date"?

It will take it from the Employment History. If no Employment History is available then it will calculate it by taking away the number of years of service from the year the database is set in.

I'm very conflicted that technical skills will be a one size fits all stat from now on... While I can understand the decision to combine chain and mat wrestling (and think it's welcome streamlining) I really think that submission skills should remain a seperate stat. A worker coming over from a MMA promotion may be predistened to become a submission specialist, but may never learn the intricacies of chain wrestling.

I always liked Macho on colour. There is definitely a relation between acting, charisma and mic skills as far as who makes a good colour guy, imo. Announcing otoh I would agree is absolutely a seperate skill.

Having said that I think there are better low hanging fruit for skills streamlining. The brawling skills, aerial and flashiness, I'd argue even basics and safety would be good candidates to combine. Consistency could be come a personality trait (consistent vs inconsistent). I think these are the easiest to argue. Maybe Toughness and resilience as well?

The next batch become trickier : The aforementioned Colour skill, sex appeal, menacing, etc... Are all problematic, imo, in that they overlap with other skills but arent as straight forward as the first batch. Again imo.

Love that the technical skill is streamlined. I also hope other skill sets are simplified. Especially with the addition of traits, there is no need for so many extraneous stats. In theory, cutting down the number or stats for individual workers should reduce the minutia and make mod-making easier. If it's easier to mod there should be more mods-- a win for all.

Rather like the streamlining of the technical skills. Wouldn't have picked that as one I would want, but it makes a lot of sense.

And regarding the color commentary.... It really depends on what you want out of your color commentary. Someone who is well spoken and entertaining - like CM Punk or Macho Man - is likely to do well, at least in the sense that they are entertaining. But they may not add to the match in the same way that a more reserved commentator can. Difference in preferences.
