7. White Canvas Trophy Round 2: Tadakuni Toshusai def. Nigel Svensson (14m57s) with a Shock Treatment [60]

- Tadakuni Toshusai showed no weakness in his second round bout with Nigel Svensson and pinned the swede with his Shock Treatment to advance to the semi finals. However his opponent will be Ray Snow, which was a surprise for the Shizuoka fans. Snow nailed his Back Fist perfectly, Shikitei collapsed and was eliminated from competition. Smith vs. Gauge and Snow vs. Toshusai are your White Canvas Trophy semifinalist.

- What a bummer for El Mítico! The mexican challenged Phoenix just a day ago and today Laine has beaten him and Mítico was eliminated from the mini-tournament. The Rogue Squad villain ambushed Mítico unfairly from behind to take an advantage for the fight. Laine almost got caught with a frankensteiner pinfall but after hitting the Death Spiral it was all over.

- That was some inner-faction war! Greg Gauge and Brandon Smith clashed in todays main event, hitting each other pretty hard after having five minutes of a sampling phase. You could cleary see that it was a big match for Gauge as the designated leader of Rogue Squad. Smith's strength was almost Gauge's doom, but the second generation wrestler did an amazing counter when Smith tried to hit his Tombstone on Gauge. After a sunset flip maneuver, Gauge immediatly locked in his Proton Lock for the win. His opponent will be Tadakuni Toshusai who overcame Snow in the first semifinal.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:arial;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:arial;">

- Referee Kazuko Fujimoto slapped his hands to the mat for the third time and everybody knew that we've got a rematch for the Junior Heavyweight title in Osaka! <div style="text-align:justify;">Our world champion didn't have many friends when he was in Black Canvas Grappling after he joined Golden Canvas Grappling after a dispute in the locker room, but Noburo Ikoma stood by his side. So it wasn't a big surprise to see Ikoma in a WCG ring today in which he teamed with a former BCG man in Tanyu Toshusai. Interesting enough were the sequences between Okamoto stablemate Motoyuki Miyake and his opponents, Miyake invested 100% of his skills to show that he's better than Okamoto's former allies. Razan scored the pinfall after his Brainbuster on Toshusai with a shake hand sequence afterwards.

GregGauge.pnghttp://puroresu.de/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/ntl.pngTadakuni-Toshusai.png

<div style="text-align:justify;">Just a couple of months ago a match between Gauge and Toshusai were the most evil genius match in WCG today. However Toshusai changed, made his peace with Sarumara and disbanded Shokka-gun to join the Main Unit, on the other side is Gauge. You know about Gauge, the american is still the leader of Rogue Squad the evil Gaijin faction. The second generation wrestler is a mastermind, he tried to dodge Tadakuni's brawling style and sneaked away many times.

Toshusai nailed Gauge with his Shock Treatment and then things erupted the wrong way. Rogue Squad distracted the referee, saved Gauge's bum which led to the point Sarumara and Yanagita came down to the rescue! Nevertheless Toshusai couldn't get the job done, Gauge countered the Shock Treatment and locked in the Proton Lock for the win. All Rogue Squad members came into the ring, celebrating with Gauge the trophy win and the latter took a microfon and told that he isn't going to challenge right away. Pure silence! Gauge stated that Fighting Spirit In Osaka isn't big enough for him, for this title challenge, he'll refuse any challenge before Anniversary which would be the perfect place for the titlebout.

COMMENTS

Greg Gauge: „You've heard my thoughts already, so what are your points interviewing me again, huh? Idiots! Finally I got my hands on some silverware here, haha, let me ask you one thing instead. When do you think I'm going to challenge Okamoto?“

Razan Okamoto: „I was very happy to see Nobu [ikoma] in our squared circle today. I think both guys are a great addition to our locker room and I'm happy to announce that xDREAM are offering them a membership. [..] After Gauge's comments I don't think we've a match in Osaka, right? I've seen Art Reed in PGHW yesterday, he spoke about me in New York weeks ago. So Mr. Reed are you ready for a challenge?“

Tobei Sugimura: „I know our start in WCG was not great. But I feel like we're finally arrived. So, Remus and Mäkinen, what about a titlematch in Osaka, huh?“

Motoyuki Miyake: „I've heard Razan's comments and I'm not keen on it. I don't think they've got enough to join us in xDREAM. I would love to face them again and to show them many more.“

They lifted their hoods and WCG announcer Ryuzabaro Sugiyama recognized him as former BHOTWG man Heihachiro Sakai and.. PGHW man Brute Kikuchi?! Sarumara and Yanagita saved their former enemy Tadakuni but the new duo left their mark.

WCG Intercontinental Championship

Bunrakuken-Torii.pngO3aL2Ex.pngmorimisa-kato.png

<div style="text-align:justify;">It was a very different match compared to their bout at Wrestling Imperium. Kato relied on his wrestling ability, there was no distraction from Kenka guys nor a interference. It was a pure wrestling classic between two great fighter in the middle of the ring in former BCG country Osaka, which was cleary when Torii got the control of the match. The former BCG World champion battered Kato with devious palm strikes followed by a Backdrop Suplex for a close nearfall. Kato was on spaghetti legs and still came out of a Lariat at two, immediatly after the count Torii hammered his Spinning Forearm Smash to become a second time WCG IC champion in front of his home crowd.

Real emotions afterwards. "KILLING MACHINE" Morimasa Kato, still a bit dizzy, took the belt out of Referee Doppo Ibu's hands and to the surprise of many handed over the belt to Torii. A respectful slap on the shoulder later Torii celebrated his win.

WCG World Heavyweight Championship

RazanOkamoto.pngO3aL2Ex.pngt6streG.png

<div style="text-align:justify;">DREAM MATCH was the official match topic in the traditional pre-match VTR. Razan Okamoto challenged Art Reed to a match, because Okamoto likes Reed very much as a wrestler. The former PGHW wrestler and current NYCW Empire champion got a pretty good reception by the WCG crowd tonight. The "Pure Athlete" may be old, he's way more experienced and seemes to outsmart the champion many times on the mat. Okamoto became a bit frustrated and had his eyes on Reed's arms to weaken both of his finishers. Okamoto gained momentum with a series of strikes, forearms and even a headbutt but it was the american who nailed his Dark Matter out of nowhere for a two count.

Reed couldn't handle anymore, Okamoto broke Reed when hitting his dangerous Knee Strikes left and right to finally putting Reed's shoulder on the mat for three seconds with a Brainbuster. Both men showed each other a huge amount of respect with a caring hug.

A loud roar came through the crowd when Okamoto's friend Noburo Ikoma came down the aisle with an akward smirk on his face. Ikoma said that he's thankful to have a new job in White Canvas Grappling, that he got an invite to Okamoto's xDREAM but before he'll join the faction he wants to have a crack at Razan and the biggest prize in WCG. "The Dreamcatcher" nodded and the two shook hands.

COMMENTS

Razan Okamoto: „I'm happy to had a match like this with a legend in our sport. Thank you Mr. Art Reed for the special opportunity and challenge. However my focus is on the next challenger which will be my friend Noburo [ikoma]. He's strong, fast and deadly .. I think it will be pretty fun to have that match tho. But what about Gauge? He's talked so much but got a bit quiet.“

Bunrakuken Torii: „Do you see this belt? I AM Mr. Intercontinental. I can take down every challenge, Kato's win at Wrestling Imperium was a fluke and I proved it tonight, right? I don't know who's next, Anniversary isn't that far away tho. I'm open for a challenge. But I have to say I have my eyes still on a double title crown, seeing Ikoma challenging Okamoto makes my blood pour. Ikoma isn't near my level nor Okamoto's..“

Ray Snow: „Man it feels so good to finally win those titles. My partner Nigel [svensson] knows how to win those beauties but I failed many times before. I know a target is on our backs now so I wasn't surprised to see Makioka and Konoe challenging right away. They have beaten us before and we know how hard they can punch. It will be very interesting.“

Yoshinaka Taku: „I'm done. I'm not quitting but I have to question myself now. I'm losing many matches since I got the opportunity to fight with Razan Okamoto for the big belt. It's been eight months since then and I stagnate. You can write this down: Taku Yoshinaka is taking a break, is going away from White Canvas Grappling to train more and come back better than ever. I promise!“

Tadakuni Toshusai: „This motherf--! I know him well, I don't know what's going on, why is he here? Why did he attacked me so cowardly? He was always a fighter with pride and honor. Speaking of pride and honor, what about this giant baby beside him?“

Billy Robinson: „It feels soooo good to be a champion. Overcoming Laine's lame idea of wrestling, interfering sh*t.. It feels so good and deserve. My WCG career was a high and low most of the time, getting beaten up most of the time from bigger guys, meaner guys.. I know I came into this spot while Phoenix is sidelined, but I promise Phoenix-san I'm going to make you proud.“

I'm getting caught up on this, and I've got plenty of catching up to do. I just want to drop in to say that I've really enjoyed what I've read of this so far. I also think your show presentation is excellent.

An eventful show in Osaka is over! We saw a defense by Razan Okamoto who made history with his sixth defense in a row to set up a new record for the World championship, Svensson and Snow finally made it to capture the tag titles, Billy Robinson stopped Joffy Laine to become the new Junior champ and may more! Our next big stop will be Nagoya with "Exciting Battle" at the Nagoya Sports Stadium.

WCG president Junnosuke Fukazawa isn't happy with recent actions in Osaka: „Two strangers attacked Tadakuni Toshusai after his match and continued to assault him. We identify these two as Heihachiro Sakai and Brute Kikuchi. Tadakuni Toshusai demanded a match with them, but we didn't granted his wish. We deeply apoligize to all WCG fans.“

„Yoshinaka Taku said that he wants to have a break, to train in an unknown location and to come back better than ever. He's left White Canvas Grappling after the Osaka show wrapped up, he's expected to return to the company next year.“, Fukazawa continued.

Big News regarding Anniversary!! The January 7th show will be televised on Emperor's Choice out of Kanagawa Stadium (30,000 capacity). The 3rd birthday show will be WCG's biggest show in history not only attendance wise also with Emperor's Choice as a new broadcasting partner.

Excited to see Yoshi Taku return! Exciting Battle looks like it will be a huge event. You will need some big drawing power to sell out a 30,000 seat arena! Crazy to see Ikoma in a WCG ring! What has he been up to? The mutual respect between Okamoto and him is fun to see. Torii's disdain for him I can see playing a role in the aftermath of Exciting Battle.

Both Junior Heavyweight titles will be on the line on October 13: Billy Robinson accepted the challenge by former WCG Junior Tag Team champion Konrad Mäkinen, who pinned Captain White Canvas in their tag match. Also Stone Yoshikawa finally challenged for the Jr. tag titles! The former Junior champion was sidelined when he and Stealth Z challenged Remus and Mäkinen months ago. Interesting enough this challenge will be the third (!) challenge for Stealth Z with three different tag partners.
