The young woman has worked hard and really earned the respect of the sold out Gutierrez Community Center. Golden Delicious is still showing the ring rust of having been off for maternity leave. There were a couple of good high flying moments and in the end a Flying Cross Body from Guest to Delicious secured the match.</p><p> </p><p> Maria Guest defeated Golden Delicious in 7:51 by pinfall with a Flying Cross Body.</p><p> <img alt="gUMXSOo.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/gUMXSOo.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Singles Match</strong></p><p> Twenty Minute Time Limit</p><p> <img alt="Tk5tHMU.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Tk5tHMU.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="XWgjkPi.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/XWgjkPi.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="JsdhCVW.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/JsdhCVW.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> “The Mayan Mauler” Ursula Saez versus Mary Beth Chase</p><p> </p><p> An underwhelming match between a youngster who is trying to get noticed -- and truth be told may be more suited to a career in the Far East as opposed to her native Mexico -- and a veteran who is just looking for a chance to have any kind of run in her career that she can be proud of. The two women had a nice back and forth, fast paced match that saw lots of head scissors and drop kicks being thrown and built up to a big dropkick from Mercado that saw her backflip out of her drop kick and land on her feet before hitting the High Altitude Legdrop. The big dropkick came after Vinny Cruz got a handful of Vazquez’ boot to derail her moment.</p><p> </p><p> Maribel Mercado defeated Catalina Vazquez in 11:43 by pinfall with a High Altitude Legdrop after Vinny Cruz interfered.</p><p> <img alt="gUMXSOo.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/gUMXSOo.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Six Woman Tag Team</strong></p><p> Thirty Minute Time Limit</p><p> <img alt="IiUi5uy.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IiUi5uy.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <img alt="J9NBi0h.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/J9NBi0h.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="Xc4Zgz2.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Xc4Zgz2.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="EzlUwjI.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/EzlUwjI.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="XWgjkPi.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/XWgjkPi.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="VJWplWU.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/VJWplWU.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="iGCuSNl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/iGCuSNl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="WnBVTkY.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/WnBVTkY.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> Bizarro, Elsa Calvo, & Jaguar Queen versus Electric Blue & La Hija De Phoenix © </p><p> </p><p> Another solid match, this the first of three championship matches on the night. The reigning trios champions showcased some excellent team work -- teamwork helped by the fact that Electric Blue is an accomplished tag team. Phoenix continues to impress as the rookie luchadora shows the smooth style of her father. Bizarro and Elsa Calvo are turning into quite the odd ball pairing, but Jaguar Queen did not quite fit in this match up and it showed that she was the odd woman out. After almost twenty minutes of action, Electric Dreamer hit the Electric Blue Bomb on Jaguar Queen and her trio retained.</p><p> </p><p> La Hija De Phoenix and Electric Blue defeated Bizarro, Elsa Calvo and Jaguar Queen in 19:31 when Electric Dreamer defeated Jaguar Queen by pinfall with an Electric Blue Bomb. Venue: Hall of Nagahama [Kinki, Japan]</strong></p><p><strong>

In Attendance: 300 (sold out)</strong></p><p><strong>

Commentators: Hiranuma Makoto, Yuko Okui</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hiranuma Makoto:</strong> This is Japanese Women’s Wrestling, this is WINNOW and we’re coming at you tonight with Full Force!</p><p>

<strong>Yuko Okui:</strong> So much to unwrap with tonight’s card, it’s two title matches set up as Deborah Young challenges Ginko Kuroda for the WINNOW Rising Champion title after pinning her two weeks ago at the opening match of Neon Genesis Evolution 3 while in the main event, Lioness Mushashibo will be facing Chitose Ariwara for the WINNOW Grand Champion title, an opportunity she earned when she pinned the champion in a tag match at Slam Fest last month!</p><p>

<strong>Hiranuma Makoto:</strong> That’s not all though because FURY Takasu, Sakura Sada and Eri Sato have brought the GDR Trios title home after wrestling in Mexico, they will be facing Águila Azul Celeste, Estrella Blanca and Pinky Perez tonight and while the titles themselves are not on the line, the GDR representatives will be looking to score the equalizer and demand a rematch so they can return the gold to their home promotion!</p><p>

<strong>Yuko Okui:</strong> Also tonight, things finally boiled over for the legendary pairing of Seek & Destory, with teammates Huntress Makiko and Ikuko Temko facing off one on one!</p><p>

<strong>Hiranuma Makoto:</strong> Plus many more, including our big opening contest, featuring the WINNOW debut of none other than the deadly Dragon Assassin!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Dragon Assassin & Romi Yamato vs BATTLE BEASTS</strong></p><p>

No strangers to each other thanks to multiple encounters inside a 5SSW ring, Dragon Assassin and Romi Yamato teamed up to compete against the hard hitting upstart pairing of BATTLE Takenouchi and BEAST Kaori. The presence of the popular joshi competitor alone was enough to get the sold out audience going and indeed the match served to showcase her deadly abilities, including the way she took out the much bigger but less experienced BEAST Kaori, though the finish of the match belonged to Yamato who nailed BATTLE Takenouchi with her spectacular Yamatotal for the pin.</p><p>

<strong>Winners: Dragon Assassin & Romi Yamato</strong></p><p><strong>

Finish: Yamatotal [Cross-arm Bridging German Suplex]</strong></p><p><strong>

Águila Azul Celeste, Estrella Blanca & Pinky Perez vs FURY Takasu, Sakura Sada & Eri Sato</strong></p><p>

As if mocking their opponents, Takasu, Sada and Sato carried the Campeanatos de Tríos GDR titles with them to the ring, a visual reminder of their success in Mexico. This was more than enough to fire up the GDR representatives and their flashy high flying moves earned them a fair amount of cheers from the audience, even if they were not so familiar with the three luchadoras. The WINNOW team employed classic heel tactics, slowing down the match with mat grappling and strikes as they ganged up to work over a single opponent, but the flow and athleticism of the three masked women was too much for them to keep up with and Estrella Blanca made her point when she hit FURY Takasu with a picture perfect Northern Lights Suplex for the finish.</p><p>

<strong>Winners: Águila Azul Celeste, Estrella Blanca & Pinky Perez</strong></p><p><strong>

Finish: Northern Lights Suplex</strong></p><p><strong>

Connie Morris, Joanne Rodriguez & Thea Davis vs Rei Chikanatsu, Jaguar Endo & Karen Bilous</strong></p><p>

With teammate and fellow Duet tag champion Deborah Young booked to wrestle a singles match, Connie Morris teamed up with fellow gaijin J-Ro and Thea Davis against Chikanatsu, Endo and Bilous. Far from a throwaway undercard multi-woman match, the bout was pretty interesting from bell to bell and even set up Rodriguez as a future challenger for the WINNOW Pure Heart title after she ended it with a pinfall over the reigning champion.</p><p>

<strong>Winners: Connie Morris, Joanne Rodriguez & Thea Davis</strong></p><p><strong>

Finish: J-Rocker [Front Facelock twist into a Face Crusher]</strong></p><p><strong>

“The Dragon’s Daughter” Ginko Kuroda vs “Dangerous” Deborah Young</strong></p><p>

Young’s first big chance as a singles wrestler and it was a title match already, a testament to her potential. Though without partners to make up for her shortcomings, Young performed admirably and even managed to deny Kuroda from having another fast paced match. Adapting on the fly, the veteran Kuroda switched to a more traditional shoot style and relentlessly chased Young’s leg to take away her vertical base, before pressing her advantage to end up applying an Ankle Lock that got her the win.</p><p>

<strong>Winner: Ginko Kuroda (Defenses: 2)</strong></p><p><strong>

Finish: Ankle Lock</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><img alt="7EqFCw6.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7EqFCw6.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Huntress Makiko vs Ikuko Temko</strong></p><p>

Clearly the reunion of Seek & Destroy didn’t go as planned and Temko’s lackluster performances were largely to blame, leading her partner to turn on her after an unsuccessful attempt to capture the WINNOW Duet titles. Though extremely familiar with each other’s style and moveset, the two competitors were clearly much better as teammates rather than opponents as their styles didn’t quite click with each other. Temko’s best moment was when she denied Makiko her trademark rolling german suplexes through brute power, but the Huntress was quick to adapt and moments later had Temko tapping out to her Makiko Clutch. After the match, the two women bowed to each other as a show of respect while fans cheered them both for their effort, essentially sealing the amicable breakup of Seek & Destroy in WINNOW without tarnishing the team’s storied legacy.</p><p>

<strong>Winner: Huntress Makiko</strong></p><p><strong>

Finish: Makiko Clutch [straightjacket Camel Clutch]</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><img alt="7EqFCw6.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7EqFCw6.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><img alt="zPaHPzb.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/zPaHPzb.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="hsi4Dbf.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/hsi4Dbf.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong>

Chitose Ariwara vs Lioness Mushashibo</strong></p><p>

A match set up at Slam Fest when Mushashibo pinned Ariwara in a tag team match, this one felt like a passing of the torch as much as it felt like a celebration of high flying wrestling maneuvers. The innovator of top rope moves in joshi wrestling went toe to toe with the promotion’s champion and top high flyer in a spectacular bout that wowed the fans with all kinds of flashy moves. Despite her 46 years of age, Mushashibo outlasted the young champion, who seemed to be gasping for air by the final minutes of the match, but this was also her downfall as it made her careless and overconfident, allowing Ariwara to surprise her challenger with a Victory Roll and get the pin.</p><p>

<strong>Winner: Chitose Ariwara (Defenses: 1)</strong></p><p><strong>

Finish: Victory Roll</strong></p><p>

<img alt="7EqFCw6.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7EqFCw6.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Again, Ariwara bowed to her opponent before leaving the ring as Crusher Ichihara marched down with a bouquet of flowers and fans showered them all with streamers. It was a sentimental moment and Mushashibo, who has already announced her retirement from active competition, looked like she was legitimately moved, hugging Ichihara and bowing towards all four sides of the ring as she thanked fans for their support throughout her entire career.</p><p>

A flying bulldog from Vazquez got her the victory and back in the positive momentum column. </p><p> </p><p> Catalina Vazquez defeated Selina Svelte in 9:44 by pinfall with a Flying Bulldog.</p><p> <img alt="GegwXV8.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/GegwXV8.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Semi Main Event</strong></p><p> Trios Match</p><p> Twenty Minute Time Limit</p><p> <img alt="MPbwFLH.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/MPbwFLH.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="DzvS9iZ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/DzvS9iZ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="1l7IwaR.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/1l7IwaR.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="Pmhhg2P.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Pmhhg2P.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="qchRZHx.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/qchRZHx.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="XWgjkPi.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/XWgjkPi.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="iGCuSNl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/iGCuSNl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="NZ7LTuT.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/NZ7LTuT.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="VJWplWU.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/VJWplWU.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> Maria Guest, Sarah Taylor, & Joanna Silver w/ Lucia Valencia versus Elsa Calvo, Devil’s Daughter, & Bizarro</p><p> </p><p> A battle between two trios that are just being formed but both look good together. The gringa trio of bubbly babyfaces Maria Guest, Sarah Taylor and the newly arrived Pirate, Joanna Silver were presented by Lucia Valencia -- the younger sister of famed luchador Angel del Mexico and one of the bright ringside prospects in lucha libre. Their opponents were the goth and odd trio of Elsa Calvo, Devil’s Daughter, and Bizarro. Both trios really looked good together. Unfortunately, the match didn’t blend like the visuals did. Silver is clearly green as grass and blew several moments, while Bizarro was off her game and actually slipped off the top rope when attempting to do a running step-up arm drag.</p><p> </p><p> Devil’s Daughter hit Sarah Taylor with a wicked neckbreaker and got the pinfall after it. Maria Guest looked like the star of the match, both with how she interacted with Lucia Valencia and with how she performed in the ring. The protege of Farrah Hesketh is really starting to find herself here in Mexico.</p><p> </p><p> Elsa Calvo, Devil's Daughter and Bizarro defeated Maria Guest, Sarah Taylor and Joanna Silver in 12:35 when Devil's Daughter defeated Sarah Taylor by pinfall.</p><p> <img alt="GegwXV8.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/GegwXV8.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46665" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><img alt="T0rEREo.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/T0rEREo.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="WKpgYMl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/WKpgYMl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p> The Queens of the Damned came out to the ring in advance of their main event match. The Queens of the Damned worked like a well seasoned tag team, but they also made their opponents look good in what was the stand out match of the night. Amazon continues to look like the best luchadora in wrestling while Blanca and Perez shown as babyface challengers -- probably why they were picked to represent GDR in Japan.</p><p> </p><p> Perez hit a beautiful springboard hurricanranna on Queen Amazon that took the champion out of the ring and to the floor. <strong>Hiranuma Makoto:</strong> Welcome everyone, to WINNOW Into the Fire! It is a sad time as we enter the fire of summer in the aftermath of a nationwide natural disaster, but we are all here to provide entertainment and raise everyone's spirits! Not just that, WINNOW will also be raising funds for the survivors and their families as in a week from now, will be holding a special charity event!</p><p>

<strong>Yuko Okui:</strong> That's bound to be an exciting show but so is tonight, with WINNOW Pure Heart champion Rei Chikanatsu making her first ever title defense against a dangerous challenger and one of the finest female wrestlers on the planet, the veteran Joanne Rodriguez!</p><p>

<strong>Hiranuma Makoto:</strong> Also tonight, four of WINNOW's foreign talent clash with the all-Japanese quartet of Ariwara, Kuroda, Sato and Yamato. That's two title holders in that team, plus the WINNOW Duet champions on the opposite corner, so we may be seeing someone earn a shot at gold in that match. That's not the only one though, as the masked <em>luchadoras</em> of GDR return to action and the team of Dragon Assassin and Huntress Makiko clash with the hard hitting BATTLE BEASTS!</p><p>

<strong>Yuko Okui:</strong> Let's take the action to the ring for our opening contest, featuring a new face in WINNOW!</p><p> </p><p>

The three GDR representatives showed up once again in a WINNOW ring, this time taking on the team of Jaguar Endo, FURY Takasu and the debuting young lion Emiko Miyoshi. A predictable but no less exciting match, this one got the crowd going and showcased the experience of the masked trio, as 3 vs 3 matches are commonplace in Mexico with most promotions even featuring trios titles. Every person had their moment in this match and Miyoshi showed a lot of fire before taking the inevitable pin, courtesy of Pinky Perez.</p><p>

Dragon Assassin & Huntress Makiko vs BATTLE BEASTS</strong></p><p>

Following their unusual chemistry on display in the main event of Neon Genesis Evolution 4, Assassin and Makiko teamed up once more for this match against one of the more regular tag teams on the roster. The hard hitting young lion duo did their best, with BEAST Kaori having some impressive moments to throw the opposition around, but they just weren't in the league of the veteran pairing and Makiko quickly tamed the lions with her dreaded submission finisher, forcing the towering monster to a humbling tap out.</p><p>

<strong>Connie Morris, Deborah Young, Karen Bilous & Thea Davis vs Chitose Ariwara, Romi Yamato, Eri Sato & Ginko Kuroda</strong></p><p>

It's hard to focus on the action and showcase a particular wrestler when there are so many in or around the ring, which is why multi person matches are generally kept in the undercard, yet the sheer amount of star power and talent involved in this one was enough to elevate it into a semi main event. A classic stable clash between the four Japanese stars and their four gaijin opponents, the match was servicable for what it was and even ended in a somewhat surprising fashion as Bilous was able to put Kuroda in the Butterfly Lift-Lock, forcing her not only to submit but also give Bilous legitimate claim to a title match for the WINNOW Rising Championship.</p><p>

After making her entrance but before her opponent did, Joanne Rodriguez got on the mic to cut a promo. In accented but passable Japanese, much to the delight of the crowd who cheered her for her effort to speak their language, Rodriguez hyped up her title match as well as the upcoming Tsunami Relief charity show, revealing that both the singles and tag team titles of the Women's Wrestling Alliance would be defended there, for the first time ever in WINNOW or on Japanese soil altogether!</p><p>

Rei Chikanatsu © vs Joanne Rodriguez</strong></p><p>

This match was everything it was meant to be and proceeded to tear down the house, even if the Hall of Nagahama was no longer sold out due to the economic crisis following the tsunami disaster. Chikanatsu and Rodriguez pulled out all the stops and set out to steal the show, delivering the best, most spectacuar and dramatic performance they could. The two of them looked like they were always meant to fight each other, every woman feeding off the intensity and aggression of the other as they elevated their competition to a whole new level. Rodriguez showed great athleticism and reflexes when she rolled through an attempt at the Blue Crab Surprise, while Chikanatsu got hit with the J-Rocker, twice, both times barely managing to get a shoulder up before the referee's count of three. It took a bit of inspiration from the defending champion to win this but she finally did it when she switched up her game and changed her set up move, using a huracanrana to roll over and apply the Single Leg Boston Crab. Rodriguez crawled to the ropes making the best of her power advantage over the diminutive champion, but with a roar that mustered everything she had in her, Chikanatsu managed to drag her back into the center of the ring, where she was forced to submit after a full minute and half in the hold.</p><p>

The match over, Rei Chikanatsu walked over and offered her hand as a sign of respect to J-Ro for putting up a great fight. Fans applauded both for giving 100% of what they had and leaving it all in the ring and Rodriguez accepted the handshake, with both ladies raising each other's hand in a mutual show of respect to wrap up the show.</p><p>

<strong>Hiranuma Makoto:</strong> We are live from the Hall of Nagahama, it's a one night special show in support of the tsunami victims, a show in support of a nation that has taken a huge blow in the wake of this disaster.</p><p>

<strong>Yuko Okui:</strong> All of us here at WINNOW are doing our part to raise everyone's spirit as well as raise money for charity.</p><p>

<strong>Hiranuma Makoto:</strong> We've had some amazing support from our fans as well as our Women's Wrestling Alliance partners, speaking of which, both alliance titles will be on the line tonight and that means overseas talent has arrived in WINNOW. Let's get straight to it with our opening contest as AAA's megastars Demelza Wade and Nadia Snow defend their WWA World Tag Team titles against the WINNOW Duet champions, Hostile Intent!</p><p> </p><p>

The A-List © (Demelza Wade & Nadia Snow) vs Hostile Intent (Connie Morris & Deborah Young)</strong></p><p>

Already from their entrance, holding the title belts up high and posing while shutting down the audience's attempts to touch them, the A-List established themselves as overconfident heels who think they're too good for WINNOW. Wade and Snow kept that theme going throughout the match, talking down their opponents in English and gesturing at the Japanese audience to earn themselves some real heat. In return, Morris got cheered for mauling both members of the A-List, who would call for timeouts and roll out of the ring to avoid her and disrupt the flow of the match. Once Deborah Young gave chase at ringside though, the champions were forced to do some actual wrestling and they delivered some great action, proving they aren't holding those belts by accident. Though Wade was a bit sloppy in a few spots, she has the skill to roll with the punches and her long experience teaming with Snow helped her hide those shortcomings. Morris had a big spot when she hit the Missouri Plough on Snow, who found a creative way out of a pinning predicament when she spat at the face of Morris from close range to force a break and have fans hate her even more. By the time "Dangerous" Deborah Young got the tag, the crowd was roaring in anticipation of seeing the local champions take down the disrespectful A-List, but that overexcitement caused Young to be lured into a beautiful sequence of an enzuguiri into a neckbreaker/drop toe hold combination finished off with a rear naked choke that put her out.</p><p>

Ginko Kuroda & Eri Sato vs Karen Bilous & Thea Davis</strong></p><p>

A standard "Japanese vs Gaijin" tag matchup, this one allowed all four participants to showcase their skills and entertain the audience in a hotly contested bout. Davis really used her height and long reach to keep the hard hitting Sato at bay, controlling most of the early part of the match until Kuroda got the tag and relentlessly sought to take the Englishwoman to the mat. Davis didn't make it easy for her and as soon as she had the opportunity, tagged in Bilous who took the match into MMA territory as she mounted Kuroda for a close-range hail of strikes. Kuroda got herself out of a tight spot when she managed to grab one of her opponent's arms and roll into an armbar, before releasing to tag Sato back in. From there it was a strong style striking contest between the two hard hitters that took a heavy toll on both women, leading to a stalemate when they both hit running lariats. Crawling to their corners, Sato was first and Kuroda rushed to pull Bilous away before she could make the tag. The WINNOW Rising Champion got a bit too confident though and went for the Dragon Suplex early; Bilous had it scouted and made the switch, digging deep down inside to finde the courage to lift Kuroda off the ground and into the Butterfly Lift-Lock to get the pin as well as the right to challenge her one on one for her title.</p><p>

<strong>Winners: Karen Bilous & Thea Davis</strong></p><p><strong>

Hunter-Killers (Dragon Assassin & Huntress Makiko) vs Mexican Pink (Mystery Pink & Pinky Perez)</strong></p><p>

WINNOW's freshly formed and highly dangerous veteran pairing of Dragon Assassing and Huntress Makiko was up next, fighting against the high flying luchadoras of GDR in Mystery Pink and Pinky Perez. The entire match was built on the clash of styles between these two teams, with Mexican Pink pulling out all the stops for some high flying action while their opponents sought to ground them, either with Assassin's deadly martial arts strikes or Makiko's technical excellence. The chemistry between the two veterans was undeniable and they looked like they've spent their entire careers next to each other, though Assassin almost cost them the match with an overly ambitious headkick counter she botched trying to hit Perez as the latter was coming off the top rope with a splash. She did however make up for it, as Mystery Pink had her isolated on the corner and came from all angles with high velocity attacks, only for Assassing to make one last desperate push and throw Mystery Pink off balance as she was climbing the ring post before exploding out of the corner with a Lariat that almost took the head of the shoulders of Pinky Perez.</p><p>

After the match, Makiko and Assassin got on the mic to call out Hostile Intent, saying they're not worthy of carrying the Duet titles and representing WINNOW, a hint at the team's loss to the A-List in the opening match. The duo then repeated their challenge, saying they are out to take the gold from the two gaijin, before dropping the microphones and making their way back to the locker room.</p><p>

Chitose Ariwara vs Estrella Blanca vs Rei Chikanatsu</strong></p><p>

Estrella Blanca is arguably one of the best luchadoras not just in GDR, but all of Mexico and this match showed the Japanese fans just that. Her first match in WINNOW without teaming with anyone else, Blanca was able to let loose against two of the finest high flyers on the roster, the result being a spectacular three way match. Every competitor gave 100% of herself in that ring and Blanca even threw in a comedy spot when she had both Ariwara and Chikanatsu on the mat and couldn't decide which one to pin, the announcers pointing out the fact that things are simpler in Mexico with only one singles, tag and trios belt, so Blanca couldn't decide whether the Grand Champion or Pure Heart title is more important to go after. This doubt may have cost her the match as it gave her opponents time to recover and once back on her feet, Ariwara caught her with a surprise Sunset Flip to score the pin and win the match.</p><p>

<strong>Winner: Chitose Ariwara</strong></p><p><strong>

Juana Huracán © (QAW) vs. Joanne Rodriguez (AAA) vs. Águila Azul Celeste (GDR) vs. Romi Yamato (WINNOW)</strong></p><p>

This was the opposite of the match that preceded it: a slow paced contest between four wrestlers unfamiliar with each other, leading to a lot of feeling out in the early part and some pretty cautious tactics from all sides. Every woman had a stake in this match and a lot of it went beyond the WWA Championship title. Huracán was also representing QAW and trying to lay the foundations of a global career for herself. Rodriguez was trying to balance out working for both WINNOW and AAA while living up to the standard Japanese fans had for her from her tours with 5SSW. Aguila was the last GDR representative and hoping to score a win for her side in a night of losses. As for Yamato, fresh out of being regarded as a young lion, she had a point to prove and kicking off her 'proper' career with a great performance and even a title win would be huge.</p><p> </p><p>

Rodriguez and Yamato got the better part of the opening 7 or so minutes as the luchadoras had little room to move around and pull off their big moves. Huracán had a bright moment when she hit Yamato with a tornado DDT, only for Rodriguez to kick her out of the ring and Aguila to follow with an over the top rope suicide dive to the outside. With the luchadoras out, Rodriguez and Yamato had some space to wrestle each other and the youngster really brought the fight to J-Ro until Aguila crept back into the ring looking to hit her Aguila Press finisher. Yamato was able to interrupt before she could complete the move and hit Aguila with the Yamatotal [Cross-arm bridging German Suplex] for the pin to take her out of the match and shatter the dreams of team GDR for a big win on this show.</p><p> </p><p>

Now with fewer bodies in the ring and stamina coming into play, Huracan picked up the pace and brought the crowd alive with her aerial maneuvers, topping them off with some great technical skills, especially a spot where she went for a rana only to roll through and effortlessly slide into a crossface. Yamato saw her opportunity to strike and charged in for the penalty kick but Hurancan had it scouted and used Rodriguez as a human shield, maintaining the grapple after the kick had connected with J-Ro's head to roll her over and make the cover.</p><p> </p><p>

Huracan and Yamato reset, giving each other a nod before circling around as they sought for the opportune moment to make a move. An eager Yamato went straight for the Yamatotal and for her trouble she got dumped on her head when the champion reversed it into a lucha arm drag, before pressing the offensive by climbing on top of her in an oldschool camel clutch. Fans really loved seeing a luchadora who had a solid technical foundation and didn't just rely on flashy high flying and Yamato was a great opponent for Huracan to showcase just that. As the match reached its dramatic climax, Huracan used a combination of submission holds and slams to break Yamato's body and spirit, before slapping on an beautiful standing guillotine for the tap.</p><p>

<strong>Winner: Juana Huracán (Defenses: 3)</strong></p><p><strong>

Finish: Guillotine</strong></p><p>

<img alt="8x5Bau7.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8x5Bau7.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="G79LIV1.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/G79LIV1.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="Xc4Zgz2.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Xc4Zgz2.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="qIYQtpx.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/qIYQtpx.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="GtoYkcW.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/GtoYkcW.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p>

Juana Huracán celebrated her victory as Águila Azul Celeste, Estrella Blanca and Pinky Perez made their way to the ring. Huracán was in no mood of sharing her moment with the three GDR representatives though, apparently feeling like they were trying to ride her coattails after losing their respective matches and things looked like they were about to come to blows...</p><p>

...when FURY Takasu, Eri Sato and Sakura Sada ran down to the ring carrying the GDR trios titles. Huracán used the opening to leave the ring and the two trios teams got in each other's faces...</p><p>

...forcing Crusher Ichihara herself to come down and get between them to avoid an all out brawl. The show went off with Ichihara sending each team back to the locker room and an obvious hint that a match between them is bound to happen sooner or later...</p><p>

<strong>Hiranuma Makoto:</strong> Welcome back WINNOW fans, it's been an exciting, action packed summer so far and it only gets better with tonight's show, WINNOW Summer Rage 2016!</p><p>

<strong>Yuko Okui:</strong> Some big matches scheduled for tonight, including the GDR trios champions finally clashing with the three GDR representatives, Karen Bilous challenging Ginko Kuroda for the Rising Champion title and our big main event, Hunter-Killers finally getting their shot at tag team gold against the WINNOW Duet champions, Hostile Intent!</p><p>

<strong>Hiranuma Makoto:</strong> All of these matches have been quite some time in the making and let's not forget one half of the Duet champions holds a pinfall victory over the WINNOW Grand Champion, Chitose Ariwara, so I'm curious to see how that might affect things. For now, let's take it to the ring!</p><p> </p><p>

Dragon Assassin and Huntress Makiko make their way to the ring for a promo, hyping up their main event title match against the WINNOW Duet champions. After mentioning their long experience in tag team wrestling (Assassin with Dragon Power and Makiko with Ikuko Temko) they bring up their recent string of successes, saying there is no way they are losing in tonight's main event match.</p><p>

<strong>Rika Tsujimura & BATTLE BEASTS vs Zofia Jankovic, Laura Flame & Claire Winters</strong></p><p>

Both Jankovic and Winters made their WINNOW debut in this match, with the former putting on a great in-ring performance while the latter really resonated with the audience as a no-nonesense badass MMA competitor. Sadly, that was not enough to also get them the win as their opponents are much more comfortable in WINNOW and were able to exploit the gaijin team's shortcomings to come out on top, with Tsujimura hitting a nasty looking Running Knee Bomb on Winters for the finish.</p><p>

<strong>Winners: Rika Tsujimura & BATTLE BEASTS</strong></p><p><strong>

Finish: Running Knee Bomb</strong></p><p><strong>

Chitose Ariwara, Rei Chikanatsu, Romi Yamato & Jaguar Endo vs Joanne Rodriguez, Thea Davis, Mystery Pink & Faith McGee</strong></p><p>

More undercard multi person matches moving on, though this one featured plenty of star power as well as opportunities to set up future title matches so fans had something to keep their interest and get them to invest in this bout. Yamato and Endo's striking worked beautifully with the graceful high flying of Ariwara and Chikanatsu, with Mystery Pink and McGee responding in kind for the opposition while J-Ro and Davis held their end of the match together to prevent it from turning into a spotfest without logic, pace and reason. Surprisingly enough, the finish came from Jaguar Endo, who pinned young lion Faith McGee for the victory after a solid contest.</p><p>

<strong>Winners: Chitose Ariwara, Rei Chikanatsu, Romi Yamato & Jaguar Endo</strong></p><p><strong>

Finish: Jaguar Stomp [Coup de Grace]</strong></p><p><strong>

Águila Azul Celeste, Estrella Blanca & Pinky Perez vs Eri Sato, FURY Takasu & Sakura Sada</strong></p><p>

Sato, Takasu and Sada once again came to the ring carrying the GDR Trios titles, taunting their enemies as well as reminding everyone how this match came to be, after they won the titles in Mexico only for their opponents tonight to visit Japan seeking redemption. This was the story told in the ring, an exciting clash of styles between the fast, high flying luchadoras and the rough, hard hitting technical joshi team. Estrella Blanca almost cost her team the match when she slipped while trying to ascent to the ring post, but she more than made up for it later on when she hit her Northern Lights Suplex on Takasu to score the pin and finally give the GDR team what they'd been looking for, a win over the trios champions for a chance to reclaim the gold and bring it back home to Mexico.</p><p>

<strong>Winners: Águila Azul Celeste, Estrella Blanca & Pinky Perez</strong></p><p><strong>

Finish: Northern Lights Suplex</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><img alt="7EqFCw6.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7EqFCw6.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

"The Dragon's Daughter" Ginko Kuroda © vs "The Pain from the Ukraine" Karen Bilous</strong></p><p>

Bilous' style is a perfect fit for Japan and this match showcased just that. Her mix of stiff strikes and big technical slams went down in a storm with the audience, who was wowed by her moves but also sumpathized with Kuroda who really took a beating in the ring. The only singles match on the card, it felt like both women were really trying to steal the show from their counterparts in the highly anticipated main event. Even when the champion managed to take her opponent to the mat, she kept the pace fast as she slid between complex and painful-looking submission holds as she chased a tap out, before switching it up and hitting Bilous with the Dragon Suplex with a bridge for the pin.</p><p>

<strong>Winner: Ginko Kuroda (Defences: 3)</strong></p><p><strong>

Finish: Dragon Suplex</strong></p><p>

<img alt="7EqFCw6.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7EqFCw6.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="mSoHzQS.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mSoHzQS.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p>

Kuroda took the time to celebrate her win in the ring, providing a much needed breather before the main event.</p><p>

Hostile Intent © vs Hunter-Killers</strong></p><p>

The defending champions knew very well what they were in for in this match and proceeded to brutalize their opponents right out the gates as they sought to win this through sheer physical dominance. Fans ate up the brutal gaijin team as they cheered for Assassin and Makiko, who put their natural understanding of each other's style to great use as they frequently teamed up to counterbalance the size and power advantage of both Morris and Young. Slowly but surely, they turned the tide and focusing on the less experienced Young, they finally managed to submit her, courtesy of Makiko's dreaded Makiko Clutch to become the new WINNOW Duet champions.</p><p>

<strong>Winners and NEW WINNOW Duet champions: Hunter-Killers</strong></p><p><strong>

Finish: Makiko Clutch [straightjacket Camel Clutch]</strong></p><p>

<img alt="IqChfad.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IqChfad.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Following the match, the losing team had an intense argument, with Morris blaming her young partner for the loss and Young claiming that Morris' head was someplace else. While they did not come to blows, they left the ring separately and Hunter-Killers wrapped up the show with a victory promo to send fans home happy.</p><p>

<p><strong>UPDATE</strong>:</p><p> </p><p>

The next show is coming! My good friend ReapeR is currently working on some new belts for GDR (he did some new WWA belts) and I'm waiting to post the show for the new belts, because our July show is a bigger show -- I love a good summer show and I want to have the new belts for it.</p>

It was slow and was a showcase of Blanca’s heart and Amazon’s power. Amazon hit an Amazonian Powerbomb that would of won her the match had Blanca not rolled from the ring to the floor. This was their first appearance in Mexico. They knew they were supposed to be a big deal and the two women are natural rudos so that helped. The crowd was firmly behind Electric Blue -- who were in control for most of the match -- the opposite of a traditional match format. Dreamer and Celeste showed great fluid teamwork, lots of tags in and out and lots of slick double team moves. Snow and Wade cut the two women off though and took it to them -- Particularly to Dreamer who sold her ass off. The crowd really got into Electric Dreamer -- easily the most popular tecnico on the roster. Dreamer looked like she had the match won when the GDR Tag Team Champions -- Maribel Mercado and Raquel Alvarado hit the ring with Vinny Cruz. Cruz distracted the official while Alvarado and Mercado beat down Electric Blue and opened the match up for Nadia Snow to hit the Snow Ball. When the referee turned arouned he had no choice but to count the three.</p><p> </p><p> The A List defeated Electric Blue in 23:04 when Nadia Snow defeated Electric Dreamer by pinfall with a Snow Ball following interference from Maribel Mercado. WINNOW Golden Dreams 2016

Week 2, August 2016

Venue: Hall of Nagahama [Kinki, Japan]

In Attendance: 247

Commentators: Hiranuma Makoto, Yuko Okui

a9HagOj.jpgtQ8Sd3n.jpg

Hiranuma Makoto: Welcome, to WINNOW Golden Dreams! An event worthy of its name, with two potential shots to be earned tonight and headlined by the WINNOW Grand Champion, Chitose Ariwara, defending the top prize of the company against the big bad Connie Morris!

Yuko Okui: Morris holds a pinfall over the champion, but that was in a tag match when Hostile Intent were the WINNOW Duet champions. Since losing the titles to Hunter-Killers, the tension between Morris and Young has been escalating and part of it may have to do with tonight's main event, as Deborah Young claims it is what has been distracting Morris ever since.

Hiranuma Makoto: There's a lot to enjoy until that match goes down though and we're ready to start with the return of a surprisely successful pairing in Jaguar Endo and young lion Emiko Miyoshi, now going by the name of Team ENDOrphine!

QAaEoST.jpgDpTyyCL.jpg25UZG0h.pnggNAvpd9.jpg0OTqIIo.jpg

Team Endorphine vs Zofia Jankovic & Laura Flame

After showcasing an intrinsic understanding of each other at Neon Genesis Evolution 6, Jaguar Endo and Emiko Miyoshi teamed up again for the opening match of this show against the gaijin duo of "The Black Widow" Zofia Jankovic and "Red Hot" Laura Flame. Communication was key here, as Team Endorphine's chemistry was a stark contrast to the language barrier between the Belarusian and Americanmartial artists. Miyoshi showed some fire before getting bested by her opponents until a misunderstanding allowed her to escape and tag in her partner, with Endo cleaning house before hitting the rookie Flame with her finisher for the win.

Winners: Team Endorphine

Finish: Northern Lights Suplex

BATTLE BEASTS vs Rika Tsujimura & Claire Winters

A similar story in the following match, as the established team took on a pair of hard hitters who had issues when it came to verbal communication. Not quite as good as the opener due to the lack of a veteran to hold the match together, this was further dragged down by the sloppiness of both BATTLE Takenouchi and BEAST Kaori but lucky for them, Kaori's sheer physical dominance was enough to secure a victory.

Winners: BATTLE BEASTS

Finish: Sit-Out Powerbomb

A pre-recorder promo from Hunter-Killers rolled next, with the newly crowned WINNOW Duet champions hyping up the promotion's blossoming tag team division and themselves as its leaders at the forefront.

Joanne Rodriguez, Karen Bilous & Thea Davis vs Ginko Kuroda, Romi Yamato & Sakura Sada

Western audiences may be unfamiliar with Japan's concept of undercard multi-person matches, but it's show stealing bouts like this that prove why such bookings are no throwaway. All six competitors gave everything they had in this match, an exciting, fast paced and open ended competition with plenty of action from bell to bell. Sada brought the high flying, Yamato brought the strikes and Kuroda had the technical skills to make their team extremely well rounded. Their opponents had the same result but with a different approach, as all three members were solid all-rounders on their own. Bilous got a modicum of revenge when she put Kuroda in the Butterfly Lift-Lock and for a moment it looked like she had the match won, before she got hit by a double team move as Yamato swept her legs while Sada came flying with a reckless missile kick to her head. Despite regaining control of the match, Kuroda just wasn't the same after that spot and the experienced Rodriguez took note, exploiting the crack in her armor to connect with a J-Rocker and score a big win to punch herself a ticket for a future Rising Champion title match.

Winners: Joanne Rodriguez, Karen Bilous & Thea Davis

Finish: J-Rocker [Front Facelock Face Crusher]

vPM9lw6.jpg

NVsHmIw.jpgmSoHzQS.jpg

As if to drive the point further home, J-Ro grabbed a mic after the match and openly challenged Kuroda to a title match, with the defeated champion looking at her full of a burning desire to retaliate for her loss tonight.

Eri Sato & FURY Takasu vs Rei Chikanatsu & Mystery Pink

Chikanatsu and Pink are the only two people on WINNOW's roster to wear masks, but that and their high flying style is where similarities end. Their timing was all over the place in this match and the visual connection didn't also translate into a good in-ring team, unlike their hard hitting opponents who really brought the fight with supremely stiff strikes and slams, allowing Sato to rock Mystery Pink with the Sato Tornado [spinning Kick at a cornered opponent] before tagging in her maniac partner, who proceeded to maul the fallen luchadora with wild crazy blows. Chikanatsu did her best but miscommunication cost her dear as Pink never joined into her Blue Surprise finisher. Instead, Sato rolled through to reverse the pin and get an upset victory over the WINNOW Pure Heart champion, earning herself a future shot at Chikanatsu's title at the same time.

Winner: Eri Sato & FURY Takasu

Finish: Roll Up

Connie Morris made her entrance next to get the main event underway, but halfway on her way to the ring, she was attacked from behind by "Dangerous" Deborah Young! Her former tag team partner delivered a beatdown as tension finally reached a boiling point and Hostile Intent imploded for good. Young lions on ringside security duty stormed in but were thrown around like rag dolls by the two massive women until Young was satisfied with her handiwork and made her way back to the locker room, leaving chaos behind her.

Chitose Ariwara © vs Connie Morris

Shaken by the pre-match attack, Morris was caught off guard by the speedy, agile champion who got the match off to an exciting start until Morris caught her with a desperate yet decapitating lariat to counter a charge and put the breaks. From there, the Misouri Mauler proceeded to beat down Ariwara with a combination of strikes and impressive slams that showcased her strength. Unfortunately for her though, Ariwara perservered and the lingering effects of Young's prior attack caught up with her as the champion reversed a slam into a surprise Tornado DDT to start her big comeback with a combination of flashy moves leading up to a Victory Roll that required all the strength and heart she could muster.

Winner: Chitose Ariwara (Defenses: 2)

Finish: Victory Roll

Kalliope Woodchuck versus Concepción Gomez

Kalliope Woodchuck, the Australian woman known for her time in ZEN makes her first appearance outside of the Australian continent. It’s announced that she is here as a part of a talent trade with the New Zealand based promotion -- that several GDR luchadoras will be making the trip to New Zealand to introduce their lucha-loving audience to true luchadoras.

Her opponent for her debut contest was Concepción Gomez, who did not look happy to be here. The audience didn’t know how to take the foreign woman at first, but after a couple of minutes the young girls in the audience -- another sell out crowd -- really got behind Woodchuck. It was a very similar reaction to how they get behind Electric Dreamer. Woodchuck fit right into the lucha style that GDR uses and hit a beautiful springboard sunset flip on Gomez to steal the victory.

Kalliope Woodchuck defeated Concepción Gomez in 7:22 by pinfall with a roll up.

“The Mayan Mauler” Ursula Saez versus Lauren Easter

Next up was a good match between two great prospects. Saez continues to show that she would do well in Japan -- and a trip to WINNOW may be in her future. Easter has really fit into the GDR roster well and the two women had a solid contest blending the fast-paced lucha action and the strong style action that Saez likes to implement. It went back and forth with each woman getting a near fall before Easter hit her Belly to Belly Suplex and got the victory.

Lauren Easter defeated Ursula Saez in 13:51 by pinfall with a Belly To Belly Suplex.

Amber Allen versus Queen Amazon

Amazon had her first match without the championship against up and comer Amber Allen. It was a good match, with Allen surprising Amazon with her speed and her technical ability. Every time the powerful luchadora tried to let off a flurry of offense, Allen would find a way to take her to the ground and prevent her from letting off some power moves. Eventually, Amazon found a way and hit several big suplexes before hitting her Amazonian Powerbomb and getting the victory.

In a decent match, Queen Amazon defeated Amber Allen in 11:40 by pinfall with an Amazonian Powerbomb.

T0rEREo.jpg

Amazon stands in the ring and grabs a microphone. She lets the crowd and Estrella Blanca knows that this isn’t over. Last month, Blanca stole the Mexican Championship from her. Amazon is the Queen of Lucha Libre. She will get back her Mexican Championship. She will make Blanca pay. That’s a promise.

La Hija Del Diablo versus Estrella Blanca ©

Blanca had her first title defence here against battle royal winner, La Hija Del Diablo. It was a solid first defence for Blanca as she and Diablo had a standard lucha match, with Blanca coming out the better in every exchange. Blanca looked like a star in this match as she had a counter for everything Diablo tried. The match ended when Blanca hit the Northern Lights Suplex.

In a decent match, Estrella Blanca defeated La Hija Del Diablo in 13:53 by pinfall with a Northern Lights Suplex. Estrella Blanca makes defence number 1 of her Campeónato del Mexico GDR title.

Electric Blue versus “Marvelous” Maribel Mercado & Raquel Alvarado © w/ Vinny Cruz

The main event. A big tag team title match that lived up to the expectations. These teams really went at it. Mercado and Alvardo dominated most of the match. They weren’t afraid to cheat, to pull at the masks or the tights -- whatever they could to keep control. Dreamer made the hot tag to Celeste, who came in like a house of fire and really got the match back in Electric Blue’s favor. Electric Dreamer hit the Electric Blue Bomb on Raquel Alvarado and we have new tag team champions.

Electric Blue defeated Maribel Mercado and Raquel Alvarado in 24:23 when Electric Dreamer defeated Raquel Alvarado by pinfall with an Electric Blue Bomb. Electric Blue win the Campeanatos de Parejas GDR titles.

Electric Blue raise the Tag Team Championships above their head. They have now been Trios Champions and Tag Team Champions. They are incredibly proud of this moment -- there is only one set of tag team titles for luchadoras in Mexico and they have won them. As they are celebrating, the two luchadoras collectively known as Venom -- Purple Viper and the returning from injury Poison Ivy -- slide into the ring. Each are holding a steel chair. They each drive their chair into the back of one of the new tag team champions several times, dropping Electric Blue to the mat. They drop the chairs and raise the Tag Team Titles high above their heads, stating their mission.

a9HagOj.jpgtQ8Sd3n.jpg

Hiranuma Makoto: What a night tonight, ladies and gentlemen welcome to WINNOW, Japanese Women's Wrestling! I'm Hiranuma Makoto and with me as usual is the knowledgable Yuko Okui.

Yuko Okui: Great to be here again and I can't wait to get tonight's show underway, we have a bunch of interesting matches and two title contests headlining WINNOW Fall Brawl 2016!

Hiranuma Makoto: Both matches in the aftermath of last month's Golden Dreams show, "The Dragon's Daughter" Ginko Kuroda will be defending her Rising Champion title against probably her biggest challenge yet in Joanne Rodriguez while in the main event, Rei Chikanatsu will face one of the fastest rising stars on the roster, Eri "Strong Style" Sato!

Hunter-Killers vs Team Endorphine vs BATTLE BEASTS

A three way tag match to start off the night and while the WINNOW Duet titles weren't on the line, both Team Endorphine and BATTLE BEASTS were looking to score a victory over the champions to earn themselves a chance at gold down the line. Between Team Endorphine's excellent tag team chemistry and the brutal physicality of BATTLE BEASTS, Dragon Assassin and Huntress Makiko were hit from all sides and had to take this match seriously, with Makiko especially wrestling like her life depended upon it and Assassin scoring the win after catching the inexperienced Miyoshi with a surprise Lariat.

Winners: Hunter-Killers

Finish: Lariat

Chitose Ariwara, Mystery Pink & Faith McGee vs Romi Yamato, Thea Davis & Zofia Jankovic

Three bubbly, cheerful high flyers up against three ultra serious, hard hitting competitors in this match and though it was good, part of the excitement was gone due to the spectacular contest that preceded it. Yamato was rock solid as usual and Davis put up an equally good performance on top of apparently being a surprise hit with the crowd, while Jankovic looked like she's still getting used to the joshi wrestling style. On the opposite corner, their opponents brought a widely different mix of high flying styles to the match, with Ariwara's japanese junior approach, Pink's lucha libre and McGee's classic american cruiserweight throwing them off just enough for Ariwara to successfully pull off her finisher on Davis and score the pin.

Winners: Chitose Ariwara, Mystery Pink & Faith McGee

Finish: Victory Roll

0zz5IM2.jpg25UZG0h.pngKeUcc8t.jpg

Connie Morris vs Sakura Sada

Though still showing signs of lasting damage from her former partner's pre-match attack at Golden Dreams, Connie Morris was at least able to focus on her match without having to worry about interference, since Deborah Young had been suspended for her actions. Sakura Sada gave her a decent challenge, the match however was brought down by the fact that the two women just couldn't get on the same page; Sada undersold her opponent's big signature moves and Morris looked odd trying to work through Sada's high flying offense, all the way to the finish and her odd reversal of a Tornado DDT into her finishing move.

Winners: Connie Morris

Finish: Misouri Plough [Running Samoan Drop]

M4SOg7D.jpg

0zz5IM2.jpgyAQaSOo.jpg

Connie Morris had her hand raised but before she could leave the ring, "Dangerous" Deborah Young slid in from behind her with a chair in hand and dropped her with a thunderous shot that echoed across the Hall of Nagahama! No ringing of the bell or young lions that selflessly threw themselves at her would stop the Dangerous One who wreacked havoc until the speakers came alive...

HswIKR1.jpg

...and out comes former USPW star Gorgon, Morris' former tag team partner in 5SSW to a thunderous ovation from the fans! Young looks like she's seen a ghost but Gorgon is very, very real as she soon finds out when she gets in her face before blasting her with a series of chops and forearms! Young drops the chair and is reeling as Gorgon picks her up for her trademark Hydra Bomb [Crucifix Powerbomb] finisher! Out of sheer survival instinct though, Young is able to wiggle free and roll out of the ring, cautiously retreating as Gorgon stares daggers at her. The newcomer then helps her long time tag team partner up and falls into her arms in a hug, fans applauding as the reunited Missouri Bruisers stand tall in the middle of the ring.

WINNOW Rising Champion title match

"The Dragon's Daughter" Ginko Kuroda © vs Joanne "J-Ro" Rodriguez

Co-main event time and first of the night's two title matches, it's Ginko Kuroda defending her title against the challenger Rodriguez and once again, the match is another fast paced, exciting show stealer of a contest. J-Ro throws everything she's got at the champion and Kuroda literally rolls with the punches as she transitions into takedowns and suplexes. Rodriguez has a huge moment when she's able to reverse a basic transitional front facelock into the J-Rocker out of nowhere, but Kuroda kicks out just before the referee's count of three! Not much longer though, Rodriguez returns the favor when she kicks out at two after being on the working end of a Dragon Suplex! Kuroda goes big to finish off her challenger and after building up some steam, she goes to the corner in an attempt for a Dragon Superplex! Just before she's about to pull the trigger, J-Ro comes alive and fights her way out of it, reversing into a spectacular face crusher off the top of the post, a modified J-Rocker followed by the cover... One... Two... Three!

Winner and NEW WINNOW Rising Champion: Joanne Rodriguez

Finish: J-Rocker [Face Crusher] off the top rope

mwL0z0W.jpg

NVsHmIw.jpg

Thrilled with her victory as she's handed the belt, Rodriguez celebrates before pausing to pay her respects to Kuroda for the challenge she put up. Kuroda bows in a show of respect and walks away, leaving Rodriguez to cut a victory promo in Japanese in the ring.

WINNOW Pure Heart Champion title match

RCvIapy.jpg25UZG0h.png8sEkkAa.jpg

Rei Chikanatsu © vs Eri "Strong Style" Sato

With more than twice her challenger's years in experience, Chikanatsu starts the match in control but that quickly makes her overconfident and she spends a moment too much playing to the live crowd. Her wake up call comes in the form of a swift judo takedown from Sato, who pummels the champion with stiff, precise shots. A Buzzsaw Kick goes wide as Chikanatsu jumps out of its path, then bounces back with a desperation dropkick and both wrestlers end up on the mat in a stalemate. Showing remarkable resilience and a true warrior's spirit, Sato is the first to make it back on her feet and she resumes punishing her opponent, eventually trapping her in the corner for the Sato Tornado [spin Kick]. Again, Chikanatsu barely avoids it by rolling forward and under its trajectory, before pulling Sato's other leg to get her in the Blue Crab Surprise in the middle of the ring for the big finish.

Winner: Rei Chikanatsu (Defenses: 2)

Finish: Blue Crab Surprise [single Leg Boston Crab, applied after a backward roll to take down the opponent]
