Plaza La Navarre. Attendance - 1000 (sell out)

"Hello and welcome to this historic first ever Mighty Wrestling Hour! I am Dougie Horwood and alongside me is Philip Roberts and without further ado let's get you to the action."

MWG Tag Titles - BOK - Beau Boulder and Gavin Owen v Sovereign Nation - El Gamberro and Mark Adonis ©

RDG8RsJ.jpgCOBu1Bs.jpgvgZZ1w5k.jpgnySwSMH.jpg

Sovereign Nation are first out and as they make their entrances you can see new barriers with MWG emblazoned across them, better lighting and better quality recording. This is definitely a new era for MWG.

Nation's opponents for this tag title match are Beau Boulder and Gavin Owen, known as BOK. Adonis and Owen start out. Owen is a world class judoka and he takes control of the match with some excellent throws but this doesn't last long. Adonis tags in Gamberro who is a much better technical wrestler and goes hold for hold with Owen. Adonis decides that this is all a little close so he pulls Boulder down from the ring apron and sends him crashing into the brand new barriers. Owen appeals to the ref to do something but Gamberro takes advantage of the distraction to low blow Owen and roll him up for the win.

Champagne Lover comes to the ring carrying the FEW title.

"Ladies and gentlemen!" He begins grinning from ear to ear. "Allow me to reintroduce myself. I am the Hero of high living, the Decedent destro...." Lover is cut off as out comes Remus.

"Forget all those fancy titles you give yourself. You are a thief and a cheat." Says Remus, the crowd start to boo. "All of you can button it too, you should be grateful that I step foot in this globally irrelevant country. You ignorant pigs need to get your phones out, go onto my Wikipedia page and educate yourselves on my accomplishments. Maybe then, I'll get a modicum of the respect I deserve." Lover looks Remus dead in the eye and responds:

"Respect is earned, past accomplishments mean nothing today. Get into the ring and back up your words...if you can."

Campeonato del Mundo FEW Title - Roderick Remus v Champagne Lover ©

twqfUcS.jpgv1vxMlPa.jpg

Their first match at Flaming Youth was very one sided but this time Remus takes control from the start. At Flaming Youth, Lover outmatched Remus at every step but here the challenger uses his smaller size to evade the champion and launch attacks from distance. Remus goes close with a roll up after a stunning enziguri but Lover kicks out. Remus gets another near fall with a standing moonsault but Lover has weathered Remus's storm and seems to be getting stronger. Lover now takes control with a masterclass of technical wrestling, he made Remus tap out to the Champagne Breakfast at Flaming Youth and looks to be trying the same here as he wrenches his opponent's back and shoulders. Remus is well aware of the danger and scrambles to the ropes. Remus hits a mule kick and goes up to the top rope seemingly to hit an axe kick but Lover counters with the Lover Stunner (RKO) and pins Remus for the victory!

"He can hurt you in so many ways." Horwood remarks. Lover leaves with the belt as Remus sits dejected in the ring.

Your winner and still FEW Champion: Champagne Lover

We cut to a video of Kalu Owusu training in the Kozlowski gym. Kalu is pounding a heavy bag with huge blows and screaming and grunting as he does so. The camera pans across to Phillip Roberts who addresses the audience.

"There's a lot of change happening in Mighty Wrestling right now. We had an exodus, we had an influx and now we have this TV show. Some things have not changed however. Take a long look at this guy." Owusu is now battering a speed bag with intensity and precision. "This guy is the strongest guy in MWG, Karl Kozlowski is the most ruthless guy in MWG and I am the most intelligent. And how do you succeed in life? Strength, ruthlessness and intelligence. That is why the Kozlowski Coalition will always rule MWG and that is one thing that will never change."

Mighty Cup Quarter Final - Antonio Arias v Barenhaft

oRqX62W.jpgvFLmUTRO.jpg

Arias makes his entrance first. Everyone has new in-house music and Arias's new theme is a rousing piece featuring spanish guitars and shouting. Barenhaft comes out bathed in the eerie green light which indicates he is now a disciple of Voodude.

The bell rings and Barenhaft charges straight at Arias. It was obvious to everyone in the building that he would do this and Arias jumps the top rope to evade the assault. Barenhaft shouts at Arias as Pamplona's own decides what to do about the 280lb monster.

Arias gets back in the ring and tries to grapple. Barenhaft is too strong however and he punches, gouges and bites Arias so that he is forced to retreat again. Arias enters the ring once more and tries a different form of attack; he lands a drop kick, an enziguri, another drop kick and a superkick and Barenhaft finally goes down to one knee. Arias smashes into his monstrous opponent with a shining wizard but Barenhaft kicks out at 2. Arias goes on the attack again with two more drop kicks but when he jumps at Barenhaft from the top rope the big man counters the cross body attempt by catching him. Arias slips away and runs to the ropes to try again, this time he looks to hit a hurricanrana but once again Barenhaft catches him and this time drops down and drops Arias on his head! That's the beginning of the end for the hometown hero and as he staggers to his feet Barenhaft smashes into him with the Bear Charge and makes the cover for the 1...2...3. Barenhaft celebrates his passage to the semi finals and gives Arias a power bomb for good measure.

Your Winner: Barenhaft

Congrats on the TV deal! The match turns into a war of attrition as they both stand in the ring trading blows. Hossam scrambles to the ropes but instead of breaking clean Gamberro slaps Hossam in the face. Everything Hossam does is so smooth and precise and Gamberro starts to look like his back is giving him big problems. </p><p> </p><p> Gamberro takes control with a chop and punch combination followed by a scoop slam. Double K takes his time, wearing Enamoto down with punches and slams. Enamoto is determined to disprove Double K's claim that he worked in Japan to avoid their Mighty Cup match. "Kalu, my friend, we need get to get our plans in line. I know we had that unpleasantness in a couple of months back and you seem a bit distant lately but we are a good team and it's time we did right by the Coalition." Kalu stands there, implacable. "Let's face facts. Beskov and Koller are good but we're better. The chances are good that we will face each other in the Mighty Cup semi finals. We need to have a plan for this. The semis and the final are both on the same show, do you really want to beat the shit out of each other an hour before facing Hossam?" Kalu nods which gets a pop from the crowd.</p><p> "I'm looking forward to it." Owusu adds.</p><p> "Come on! Really? We have the chance to put a fresh coalition member up against a tired Hossam." Kalu just smiles back at him. "Alright, do whatever you want. I can do this with or without you but if you do decide to help here's my offer; 25% of the Mighty Cup winnings. That's twelve and a half thousand euros for lying down in the semi and being in my corner for the final." Kalu shakes his head.</p><p> "Sometimes in life you have to bet on yourself. Champagne Lover gets a good pop, the MWG fans are warming to him very quickly. The announcers note that this is the first match between these two and they are very well matched physically. </p><p> Lover starts off by entertaining the crowd, gyrating his hips and posing. This behaviour annoys El Mitico so he slaps Lover in the face. Lover responds with hard chops and they go back and forth with strikes. The match is a very good Mexican style bout with lots of high flying and acrobatic moves, these two seem intent on stealing the show. Lover won this title with his bow and arrow lock called Champagne Breakfast and retained it with his jumping cutter called the Lover Stunner. In this match he struggles to hit either despite being on top for most of the time, El Mitico seems to have him well scouted. The same can be said for Lover however, Mitico uses a variety of suplexes to finish matches and everytime Mitico gets anything close to a waistlock Lover has a counter. The finish comes as Lover counters a waistlock into a leg lock and then transitions into the Champagne Breakfast. Mitico holds on for about ten seconds but with no hope of escape he taps and Lover retains.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Your Winner and still FEW champion: Champagne Lover</strong></p><p><strong> Rating - 56</strong></p><p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46735" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> <img alt="twqfUcS.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/twqfUcS.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="gZZ1w5k.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/gZZ1w5k.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> Champagne Lover kneels on the canvas, cradling his title as he screams with joy, you can see how much this success means to him. Smith notes that Kalu has been on winning teams against the Red Devils on three occasions this year but Owusu is yet to pin Beskov. </p><p> They start slow with precise strikes targeting strategic areas; Beskov is targetting Owusu's right arm to try and curb his powerful lariat and Owusu is headhunting to try and scramble Beskov's brain and force him into bad decisions. Beskov transitions into his usual puro-inspired grappling style. Beskov has a good period where he retains wrist control over Owusu for a few minutes, using arm drags, kicks and knees to wear down Owusu's right arm. Owusu regains the momentum when Beskov goes up to the top rope to try and walk the ropes whilst still holding the wrist. Owusu pulls him down, catches him and hits a beautiful side suplex followed by a running lariat. Owusu tries to hit a second lariat but the first one hurt too much and he rubs his right arm to try and get the feeling back. Beskov slips behind him and hits a dragon suplex and a elbow drop before locking in an armbar! Owusu is screaming in pain, he looks set to tap before a disturbance in the crowd distracts Beskov. It's Double K walking through the crowd holding a chair! Beskov holds on to Owusu's arm but has loosened the grip enough that Kalu can wriggle out and reach the ropes. Double K climbs on the apron to remonstrate with Owusu, the referee turns around to tell him to leave and Owusu kicks Beskov right in the groin! Beskov doubles over and is sent to the canvas by a left armed running lariat right to the top of the head! Owusu waits for him to get up and hits a second, and a third and a fourth and final lefty latiat. He collapses on Beskov and looks relieved as the referee counts three. Owusu soon jumps to his feet as Double K enters the ring still holding the chair. The crowd are waiting for these to to go at it but instead Kozlowski winks at Owusu and leaves. </p><p> Horwood signing off: "Owusu is through to the semi final but will he face his teammate or Sebastian Koller? Mighty Wrestling Hour #4

Tuesday, Week 4, October 2016

Pamplona Arena. Attendance 1300

Announcing: Steve Smith and Dougie Horwood

HvldG6h.png

Kalu Owusu makes his entrance to open the show. He gets a mixed reaction. Smith: "The question on everyone's lips tonight is will Kalu Owusu return the favour and help Double K tonight."

Horwood "That's right, Sebastian Koller is a tough opponent and Double K will want to make sure of a place in the semi finals. Only one person knows the answer; the man in the ring right now."

Long Tsou's music hits and he makes his way to the ring. Tsou is a MWG veteran who has been with the company from the very first show. In those three years he has only managed four wins however and nobody is expecting him to defeat Owusu here.

Long Tsou starts off hot, throwing punches and kicks at the huge Ivorian. Owusu covers up to block the onslaught then fires back with a big lariat. Tsou changes tact and starts to use his superior speed but gets caught and powerbombed by Owusu. Now Tsou is in deep trouble and two running lariats leave him lying unresponsive on the canvas. Owusu covers to compete an easy win.

Your winner: Kalu Owusu

Xtinction is out first but instead of making his way to the ring he hides in the entrance way. As Gamberro swaggers out to the ring Xtinction strikes, smashing his opponent into the barriers with a hard double knee. Xtincion drags Gamberro close to the ring and hits a moonsault from the top rope onto Gamberro! As Gamberro staggers to his feet Xtincion comes crashing into him with a suicide dive! Xtincion rolls Gamberro into the ring for the 1...2... no! Gamberro kicked out. Xtincion heads to the top rope but Gamberro sees the danger and pulls Xtinction's legs to cause head to crash into the turnbuckle.

From here on out this was Gamberro's match. He slapped on a headlock and proceeded to wear down the exhausted Xtincion with a variety of holds. The finish came as Gamberro held Xtincion in a sleeper long enough for him to be almost out cold then hit the Swing Low Sweet Lariat to pick up the pinfall victory.

Xtinction is writhing in pain but Gamberro is not finished yet. He pulls his fallen opponent up and slams him into the turnbuckle. As Xtincion falls backwards Gamberro catches him in a chicken wing submission. Xtincion taps desperately but Gamberro refuses to release until he is physically forced to by ringside officials. Satisfied with his work he grabs a mic.

"Fernando Cardoso. Tino Leopoldo. Both of you came at me and I ran both of you out of town. If this guy has any sense." He indicates the stricken Xtincion. "He will be third on the list. So, who will be number four?" He pauses with the intention of allowing the crowd to make suggestions but they just boo him instead. "Alright, I'll choose for you....Champagne Lover! You got a taste of what I can do last week and now your time is up! I have a cushy gig beating up these pathetic Iberians and I don't want you stealing my easy wins. Next week I'll take your title to add to this auspicious tag belt and you can run off back to Mexico just like this chump will."

Mighty Cup Quarter Final

KluaCEZ.png

Double K is out first for the last of our Mighty Cup quarter finals. He is on his own, no sign of Roberts or Owusu. Koller hypes up the crowd as he makes his way to the ring, slapping hands and hugging children, Double K curls his lip in disgust.

It's a technical opening to this match with both men trying to outwrestle the other. Koller gains the advantage despite Double K's strength due to his superior technique and Karl resorts to throwing huge clubbing strikes. Some land, some don't and before long Double K is looking tired while Koller is still going strong.

Double K tries to pull Koller onto the top turnbuckle for a powerbomb but Koller slips out and manages to walk away from the corner with the his giant opponent on his shoulders. He hits the rolling senton, the first part of his Hamburg Rock City finishing sequence but before he can finish Kozlowski off with his superkick Owusu appears on the apron. The distraction is enough for Double K to roll out of the ring but Koller remains focused, he's not going to let the Coalition beat him like this.

Koller hits a perfect suicide dive on Double K! He rolls back into the ring and does the same to Owusu! Koller beats his chest and howls, what an addition to the MWG roster he is. Koller knows he is within touching distance of the semi finals but Owusu is back up and remonstrating with the Rock N Roller, Koller pushes Owusu away but Owusu holds on to his arm. Koller looks to the referee for help but the official is distracted by Double K who is complaining loudly about Koller's behaviour. Double K nods at Owusu who reluctantly hits Koller over the head with a chair. Double K pushes the referee aside, rolls the dazed Koller into the ring and lifts him up for his powerbomb finish; the Stock Market Crash! The referee looks at Double K sceptically but counts the three and we will have an all Coalition semi final.

Your Winner: 'Double K' Karl Kozlowski

Kozlowski is exhausted and is furious about how close he came to losing. He drags Koller up to his feet and calls on Owusu to help. He wants to powerbomb Koller out of the ring to the floor below! Owusu refuses, Kozlowski insists. Owusu leaves the ring and walks up the ramp which increases Double K's anger still more.

Kozlowski decides to perform to powerbomb on his own but can't generate enough power to pick the defeated German up. He tries again but is distracted by a roar from the crowd, It's Hossam! The Intercontinental champion races into the ring and knocks Double K down with a forearm smash. Kozlowski bails and Hossam helps Koller to his feet as Horwood signs off.

"Hossam v Barenhaft, Kozlowski v Owusu, the winners square off for fifty thousand euros live in Pamplona. This event is not being broadcast live so get your tickets right now if you want to see this epic tounament draw to a close. We'll be back at the same time next week for the fallout, whatever you do don't miss the Mighty.....Wrestling.....Hour!"

Voodude gets on the apron with his spiked knuckles in hand, ready to use them on the intercontinental champion but Hossam whips Barenhaft into Voodude and he falls off the apron into the barriers. I'm intrigued by Owusu's actions. Is he turning into Two-Face, making all of his decisions by a coin flip? <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Mighty Wrestling Hour #5

Tuesday, Week 1, November 2016

Pamplona Arena. Attendance 1200

Announcing: Steve Smith and Dougie Horwood

6RNxpz6.jpgZYMW3CI.jpg

vjYaPLK.jpg2vLyWX5.jpgNzeQWdr.jpgGrLvgcN.jpg

The Kozlowski Coalition come to the ring to start the show. Karl Kozlowski is wearing an expensive looking knee length leather coat, Roberts is holding the Mighty Cup and Owusu lags somewhat sheepishly behind. Roberts takes the mic.

"Last night we showed the power of corporations and the strength of our coalition. Now it's time to get even stronger. We are delighted to announce the result of our latest corporate restructure." The fans start booing this pretentious group even louder than usual. Roberts ignores them and continues. "I have been promoted to Head of Recruitment. My role will be to identify suitable candidates for the Coalition and agree compensation. My efforts have already brought success and we will be introducing the newest Coalition member in a moment." Karl takes over. Boos increase in volume.

"What I love about this Coalition the most is that unlike you idiots they appreciate my efforts and value my success. Now, many people have asked me what I have planned for the fifty thousand euros I won by besting fifteen other men in the Mighty Cup. The answer of course is that I invested it.....I bought out my brother, Stefan.

Smith: "He bought out the Heavyweight Champion, what does that mean?"

"I am now the leader of the Kozlowski Coalition. My many titles include; Chairman, CEO, Chief Financial Officer and now..." Double K opens his long coat to reveal the MWG Heavyweight Title "... your Heavyweight champion!"

Horwood: That's what he meant, he's bought the heavyweight title, what a scumbag.

Kozlowski leaves to jeers, boos and insults from the fans. Roberts concludes.

"Finally, Kalu. Since you can't be trusted in singles competition your new objective is to win the tag belts. You will achieve this with the help of..........Grave Digger!" Out comes Grave Digger who gets into the ring and stands silently next to a baffled looking Owusu. "Kalu, it's time you repaid our patience. That's the offer, take it or leave it."

Smith: "We knew that the opener on this show was going to be Owusu and a mystery partner against BOK but I did not expect it to be Grave Digger."

Horwood: "It's certainly a surprise but he brings plenty of size and strength. Here come BOK, they have their work cut out for sure."

Kalu Owusu is a big heavyweight, Grave Digger is even taller and ripped. Beau Boulder and Gavin Owen are both around 5'10" and 200lbs, this is not a hard match to predict the outcome of.

Owusu and Digger beat BOK to a pulp from the start but decide to continue the beating outside the ring rather than simply winning the match. BOK get a second wind and manage something of a comeback but it is quickly crushed and the Coalition team hit repeated lariats and Owusu pins Owen for the win.

This is Asesino's first MWG singles match and he's very unlucky that it's against the 6'10", 320lb brand new MWG heavyweight champion. As Double K towers over Asesino, Horwood tritely remarks that there are no weight limits in MWG. Karl's tactics are obvious; get Asesino trapped and beat him into submission. Asesino wrestles a smart match, using his speed to avoid Double K's hammer blows. Eventually however he is caught by a Kozlowski flurry and Double K hits the Stock Market Crash for an easy win.

Hossam comes to the ring. He is furious at the Kozlowski Coalition's actions.

"I'm not a good loser, I hate it in fact" He begins. "But, I hate being cheated even more. But it's not just me being cheated, it's you (he indicates the fans in attendance) and you (pointing down the camera to the fans at home). Great wrestling promotions need great competition and that is what the Coalition are doing their best to avoid." He pauses, the crowd start chanting his name.

"So, what can we do about it? Fight back of course." The Red Devils come to the ring and join Hossam. "Victor and Yuri have offered to help me before and I have always turned them down but I can't do this alone. We will take on the Coalition and we will bring back true competition - 'espiritu de lucha' will be here to stay."

The Red Devils go and stand near the entranceway as El Mitico makes his entrance for the main event.

El Mitico is a very talented young Rudo who came over as part of the FEW buy out, he lost his first two MWG bouts and now here is is against the biggest fan favourite in the company. No one thinks he has much of a chance in this match and the crowd is a bit flat.

The action warms the crowd up as the underdog starts strong, using his speed to pull of a series of ranas and topes to keep Hossam on his toes. Every now and then Hossam will catch the his livewire opponent but El Mitico always has enough speed and agility to get out of the holds or get to the ropes. Certain sections of the crowd start to warm to the young Mexican but he loses any good vibes as he starts to insult members of the crowd, mocks Hossam when he is on top in the match and cheats by getting his feet on the ropes and pulling his opponents tights during pinfall attempts.

Hossam counters an attempted flying DDT with a hard lariat and that is the beginning of the end for El Mitico. Hossam hits a backbreaker and lifts his smaller opponent into the torture rack before transitioning into a suplex and putting him into the Camel Clutch. El Mitico taps quickly but he put up one hell of a fight here and Hossam shows him respect by helping him up.

Hossam is rejoined by the Red Devils and the show end with him shouting that he will stop Double K

Mighty Wrestling Hour #7

Pamplona Arena. Attendance: 1200

Announcing: Steve Smith and Dougie Horwood

qfepLD8.jpgoRqX62W.jpgbH5JwCZ.jpggZZ1w5k.jpgnySwSMH.jpgiArDfvD.jpg

Vitality come to the ring to start the show, the announcers tell us that Koller is facing Adonis tonight and El Gamberro is facing Arias, if either Gamberro or Adonis win they will get a tag title match at No Escape. Vita grabs a mic:

"We've had quite a battle with Sovereign Nation this year. Nation turned up and attacked us, they threatened me with a bottle. Arias beat Gamberro. They hit one of us with a bottle. Arias beat Gamberro. Now, I know what will happen next, they will threaten us with bottles but as always...Arias will beat Gamberro. All things must end and tonight we send Sovereign Nation to the back of the tag team title line.

"And people accuse us of being arrogant!" Interupts El Gamberro appearing on the ramp. "You may be holding our titles for now but look at the state of you; the loosest woman in Europe, the least cool man in the world pretending to be a rock star and a man so untalented that he can't get booked outside his hometown." Vitality decide they can't take any more and advance down the ramp. A brawl breaks out which needs to be broken up by security before Adonis and Koller start their match.

B1LbP8a.png

The bell rings and Koller wastes no time in taking control of the match with some lighting quick offence. Adonis is a spectactular physical specimen but he can't hang with Koller here. The German is too quick to the punch and manages to outgrapple God's Gift too often. Koller hits Hamburg Rock City after about eight minutes to pick up a routine victory.

Koller clears the defeated Adonis from the ring and in step El Gamberro and Antonio Arias. Arias stares through Gamberro with pure hatred, Gamberro fires back with a look of contempt.

Arias can do anything in a wrestling ring wheras Gamberro is a pure technician, Gamberro avoids a striking match and looks to get Arias in close for some chain wrestling. For the most part Arias does a good job avoiding getting tied up by the technically savvy Englishman but Gamberro is cleverly working on Arias's legs in order to slow him down. Arias becomes a step slower getting to the top rope for his flying moves but manages to start his finishing combination; a series of strikes, a scoop slam and up to the top rope for the Pamplona Press. This time instead of soaring through the air into the prone body of his opponent Arias slumps to the canvas surrounded by broken glass. El Gamberro assesses the situation. Did the referee see this happen? No, Adonis had him distracted. Who hit Arias with the bottle? Who cares! Gamberro waits for Arias to stumble to his feet and smashes into him with a perfect Swing Low Sweet Lariat and covers for a huge upset win. The crowd are furious. Vita and Koller rush over to check on Arias and Billy Carter subtly throws a broken bottle away.

The chaos intensifies as Barenhaft and Voodude hit the ring and start laying into everyone at ringside. Arias is bleeding from being hit with a bottle and Voodude heads for him but Koller fights the eerie Jamaican off and drags Arias to the back. Sovereign Nation are fighting Barenhaft 3 on 1 and only just holding their own. Voodude joins the fight and Nation flee leaving Voodude and Barenhaft standing tall in the middle of the ring.

There is a pause for everyone to catch their breath as the ring is cleared of broken glass. The announcers speculate that Kozlowski will be looking to show his dominance over Hossam's new allies by easily defeating Illakov tonight.

The competitors make their entrances and the tale of the tape does not paint an optimistic picture for Illakov. The Russian is not small but Kozlowski is 6'10" and towers over him. Double K is an elite brawler but Illakov is a renewed street fighter and he stands up to Double K's initial salvo. Kozlowski lands punches, forearms and slams but Illakov keeps getting back up. Illakov isn't particularly good at any type of offence but he throws the kitchen sink at Double K during a lengthy comeback. Illakov gets Kozlowski up on the top turnbuckle as he looks for his finish, a Muscle Buster he calls the Kiev Krush. Kozlowski fights back and the two men brawl for a moment as Illakov looks to hit his move and complete a shock victory over the Heavyweight Champion. Kozlowski is too strong however and instead of dropping Double K onto his shoulders Illakov ends up being hoisted above Kozlowski's head and dropped onto his neck!

Smith: Top rope Stock Market Crash!

Horwood: Oh...my....word!

Kozlowski takes his time in making the cover, he eventually gets there, the referee could have counted to one hundred - Illakov is completely motionless. We go off air with Karl Kozlowski posing with his belt and the announcers wondering who can stop him.

Pamplona Arena. Attendance: 1200

Announcing: Steve Smith and Dougie Horwood

6RNxpz6.jpgZYMW3CI.jpg

vL2S7kK.png

We open the show with Voodude's discordant reggae as he finally gets Enamoto one on one. It does not go well for the Japanese fighter. Enamoto is much quicker than Voodude but his flying attacks from distance make no impact on the bulky Jamaican. Eventually Voodude traps Enamoto in the corner, lifts him by his throat and slams him in the middle of the ring with the chokebomb he calls the Black Magic Bomb. Voodude covers and gets the three for an easy win.

As soon as the referee's hand hits the mat for the third time the lights go out and return slowly as an eerie shade of green. We start to see details of what is happening in the ring as the lights get brighter; Voodude punching Enamoto with the spiked knuckles, Voodude kneeling over Enamoto with a bag of flour, Voodude spelling letters with the flour and blood mixture. an N, an A, an N, an N and a Y.

The full house lights come up and Voodude helps the blood and flour soaked Enamoto to his feet. They embrace and Enamoto stands by Voodude's side with a distant look in his eyes. Voodude now has a mic in his hands.

"Your army - Nanny's Kin - grows! Soon I will call on your power to repel the invaders!"

The lights go out and when they come back on Voodude and Enamoto are gone.

The next person in the ring is Billy Carter, he gets a very negative reaction after hitting hometown hero Antonio Arias with a beer bottle last week. The announcers inform us that Champagne Lover made this challenge due to Carter's new notoriety. He is a fighting champion that is for sure, this is his fifth defence already. Lover comes to the ring to a good reaction, his popularity is growing with every appearance due to his charisma and incredible star quality.

Champagne Lover is also a very good all round wrestler. Like many challengers before him Carter cannot predict what Lover is going to do. Carter gets caught witha flurry of punches but as he covers his head he gets taken down into an STF. Carter stays rooted in the middle of the ring and Lover hits a cross body before slipping behind to hit a couple of German Suplexes. The finish comes when Carter tries to apply a Full Nelson, Lover hits Carter with a mule kick to the stomach before catching him in mid air with an awesome looking Lover Stunner for the win.

Lover celebrates until suddenly his music cuts out and the theme of the Kozlowski Coalition plays instead. Out comes Karl Kozlowski, our heavyweight champion, on his own to talk to the FEW champion.

"I assume you received our offer." Lover nods. "Do we have a deal?"

"Let me ask the people here." Lover responds. "I know what you corporate types are like. no quiero ser estafado; I don't want to be scammed." Lover turns to the crowd. "I have an offer from the Kozlowski Coalition." The crowd boo. "no, no, no, not like that!" Lover lifts up his FEW title. "Title versus title on Sunday at No Escape!" The crowd roar their approval and Lover turns to stand face to face with the mammoth Kozlowski who smiles. "Looks like you have your answer." Lover states as he departs. Kozlowski remains silent until Lover is up the ramp.

"I'll see you, and your title, on Sunday." he finally remarks.

Smith: Wow, what a generous offer from the coalition, a shot at the MWG Heavyweight Title!

Horwood: It's an arrogant offer, Kozlowski thinks there is no way he can lose.

Rating - 63

Rjd2mIa.png

Kozlowski stays in the ring as Victor Beskov makes his entrance for their main event match.

Smith: I can't wait for this one. Victor Beskov is one of the few people on the MWG roster who can match up to Karl Kozlowski physically. He's a touch shorter and slightly lighter but his aggressiveness makes up for any size differential.

Horwood: He's hungrier too. He and Illakov fought with their bare hands on the streets of Moscow to make a living before travelling to Europe to become professional wrestlers. This should be an unreal brawl and watch out for Beskov's inescapeable Red Devil Lock.

It's a slow start to the match as the two behemoths stare each other down before locking up. For a few moments it looks like we might get a technical match rather than the expected brawl but we barely have more than an arm drag before Kozlowski slaps Beskov hard in the face. Beskov smiles and walks up to Double K challenging him to do it again, he does and Beskov responds in kind. Beskov gets the better of the slapping exchanges but Kozlowski overcomes Beskov as they trade forearm shots. The match devolves into the expected vicious slugfest. Beskov takes everything that Double K throws and him and fires back with more. The crowd ooh and ahhs at each stiff exchange, neither man is prepared to show weakness or back down from the gruelling toe to toe action. The crowd are on the edge of their seats as they wait to see who comes out on top.

With both men fading slightly 20 minutes in Beskov thinks he has Kozlowski in trouble. Beskov lays Double K out with a lariat to the back of the head and immediately jumps on his back looking to grip his wrist and apply the crossface he calls the Red Devil Lock. Kozlowski is wise to this and reaches out to Roberts at ringside ensuring that Beskov can't complete the hold. The ref takes a moment to admonish Roberts and Kozlowski uses the distraction to low blow Beskov and to stand up with him on his back! Kozlowski slams Beskov into the turnbuckle and as he stumbles back Kozlowski lifts him over his head in a crucifix position and brings him crashing down onto his neck to complete the Stock Market Crash. Kozlowski makes the cover and the referee counts 1...2...3 to give Double K the win.

MWG No Escape 2016

Saturday, Week 4, November

Pamplona Arena. Attendance: 1800

Announcing: Steve Smith and Dougie Horwood

6RNxpz6.jpgZYMW3CI.jpg

Smith: Welcome to the jam-packed Pamplona Arena where we have an epic night of professional wresting for you

Horwood: Too right and let's kick off with one of the biggest, meanest fighters on the planet..

Njkhubi.png

Kalu Owusu makes his entrance to start the show. He's an impressive looking guy and gets a good reaction. Gavin Owen comes out to no reaction, no one expects him to compete with Owusu tonight.

Owen is a master judoka but Owusu is too strong and Owen's attempted throws and take downs are easily resisted by the massive Ivorian. Owusu levels Owen with forearms and powerbombs him right in the middle of the ring. The crowd pops as Owusu raises his arms to signal for his signature lariat finishing sequence. The first lariat sends Owen crashing to the canvas, he struggles to get up from it and after the second lariat he slumps to his knees and then falls flat on his face. Owusu makes the cover and picks up an impressive win in short order.

Your Winner: Kalu Owusu

FEW TAG TITLE MATCH

aT3Gvjb.png

We have two very different entrances to start this tag title match. The challengers - Genji and Enamoto of Nanny's Kin - are out first accompanied by Voodude and his spooky discordant reggae. They come to the ring in single file following Voodude and stand motionless side by side in the ring to wait for their opponents. Asesino and Xtinction come to the ring as if they'd been shot out of cannons. They are a whirlwind of fist bumps, high fives and acrobatic poses. The crowd warm to them immediately and boo when The Kin take control with some ugly brawling.

The Kin maintain control for the first five minutes of the match, aided by some ringside sheninghans from Voodude. The tide turns when Voodude, standing on the apron to distract the referee, gets double drop kicked off the apron onto the arena floor. Genji and Enamoto seem at as loss and Asesino and Xctinction unleash an incredible array of rana's, dives and kicks before winning the match after a combination of Asesino's Hangman's Neckbreaker and Xctincion's Xctinctor frog splash.

Before Asesino and Xtinction can even lift their arms in celebration they are assaulted by Barenhaft and Voodude. The Mexicans are not prepared for this ambush and quickly succumb to the onslaught. Voodude pulls Asesino to his feet and Barenhaft smashes into him with the Bear Charge sending him crashing through the ropes and out of the ring. Xtincion gets the same treatment and the Kin members indicate that they are coming for the titles.

MWG TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH

7XqzDO0.png

Before the match begins we get a replay of Carter hitting Arias with bottle last week, the fans boo him lustily as he comes out with El Gamberro and Adonis who are the challengers tonight. Vitality make their entrance to a sizeable pop and the match begins.

It's immediately obvious to anyone watching that Sebastian Koller is on fire tonight. He tears into El Gamberro with running attacks and strikes and does the same to Adonis when he tags in. With Sovereign Nation on the ropes Koller tags in Arias who is distracted by Carter wielding a bottle at ringside. The referee ejects Carter from ringside but Nation use the distraction to double team Arias from behind.

Arias is beaten from pillar to post as Nation exhaust their move sets trying to get the Pamplona native to stay down for a count of three. Everytime he tries to tag in Koller he gets cut off until finally he hits a DDT on Gamberro and an enziguri on Adonis and reaches over to make the hot tag to Koller. The place erupts as the German hits move after move on the challengers before noticing that Carter is back at ringside, bottle in hand. Carter tries to hand it over to El Gamberro outside the ring but from no where Arias wipes them out with a high cross body. This leaves Adonis at Kollers mercy and he hits the Hamburg Rock City and covers to win the match for Vitality.

MWG INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH

E37vk2e.png

From the outset it is clear that Digger is not here to win this match. He immediately takes the action outside and starts to pull out weapons from under the ring. The referee gives a lot of leeway as Digger runs Hossam into the ring posts, slams him into the barriers and hits a power slam onto a chair. The referee looks at Hossam but the champion shakes his head, he is not interested in winning by DQ.

Hossam gets his opponent back in the ring but he's still feeling the effects of the abuse he took on the outside. Digger easily breaks his holds and counters with sickening strikes to the head and neck. Hossam tries a german suplex but Digger runs him backwards into the turnbuckle and follows with a huge Death Valley Driver. The crowd hold their breath as the referee counts 1..2...Hossam kicks out at the last microsecond!

Digger pulls Hossam to his feet and puts his head between his legs.

Stanford: "He's going for the RIP!"

Digger does indeed try and pull Hossam up for the big piledriver finish but Hossam digs deep and finds the strength to take over Diggers legs and counter into a Boston Crab! Hossam sits back into the hold, wrenching Digger's back. The challenger screams in pain but manages to get to the ropes. Hossam has his second wind now though and starts to stamp on Diggers back and drop big elbows on his shoulders and neck. With Digger writhing in pain Hossam snaps on the Cobra Clutch. Owusu is running down the ramp but he doesn't get there in time and Digger taps out!

Owusu breaks the hold with a kick to Hossams head and starts putting the boots to the Intercontinental champion. He takes Hossam down with a lariat but before he can hit a second the Red Devils appear and double team the Ivorian. Owusu and Digger get a double power bomb each and Hossam celebrates retaining his title.

Stanford: It looks like Double K is going to be on his own tonight!

MWG HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE AND FEW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH

CpFBZ0j.png

If Double K is worried about his lack of back up he doesn't show it. He arrogantly holds up the world title bellowing at Champagne Lover to show his face. Lover makes his entrance to a big ovation and after special champion v champion ring announcements the bell rings.

Koz towers over Lover but the Mexican refuses to back down. Koz piefaces Lover and follows up with a right hook and a clothesline. Koz is full of confidence after his recent victories over Beskov and Illakov and slowly delivers a dominating beatdown to the FEW champion. Koz hits a backbreaker and a DDT and arrogantly covers Lover.

Smith: That's got to be it, and Lover has failed to hit a single offensive move!

Lover kicks out at 2 however and Double K continues the beating. Lover is flailing with his arms trying to land a punch but Koz is too strong and blocks everything. Koz takes the beating outside and busts Lover open on the ring steps. Double K brings his opponent back into the ring and lifts him up for the Stock Market Crash. The crowd goes silent but erupts when Lover slips out from Double K's grip and hits an enziguri. Karl stumbles into the ropes which gives Lover a moment of respite. He feels his bleeding forehead, looks at the blood on his fingers and smiles.

Now Lover goes on the offensive, stunning Koz with a variety of kicks to the head and body. The MWG champion is like a rabbit in the headlights as Champagne Lover bombards him from all directions.

Horwood: Kozlowski burnt himself out! He gave Lover a historic beating but it didn't get the job done!

Lover gets a near fall with a moonsault, then a close near fall with a frog splash. The crowd is going crazy until Kozlowski counters an attempted hurricanrana by catching Lover. The crowd gasps as Double K summons up his last reserves of energy and powerbombs Lover out of the ring to the floor below! The crowd chant holy shit as the bloody Lover lies motionless on the floor. Kozlowski collapses in the ring and the referee starts to count Lover out. He reaches 8, the crowd are urging Lover to get back in the ring. He starts to stand but it's too late and the referee counts him out!

Here is your winner and still MWG Heavyweight Champion: 'Double K' Karl Kozlowski! And still FEW champion: Champagne Lover!

Kozlowski protests to the referee as Lover is taken away by medical staff as the show ends.

Announcing: Steve Smith and Dougie Horwood

Oo2eX6C.jpgGrLvgcN.jpgtwqfUcS.jpg2vLyWX5.jpg

The show opens with highlights of No Escape. We see Hossam overcoming a severe beating by Grave Digger to retain the intercontinental title and Karl Koslowski defeating Champagne Lover by count out.

iVx2nox.png

Karl comes to the ring for our first match, he is clearly in a very bad mood.

Stanford: "Welcome to the Mighty Wrestling Hour and we kick off with our Heavyweight champion."

Horwood: "But not the FEW champion. He hoped to unify the belts last weekend at No Escape but even though he managed to beat Champagne Lover it was by countout and the title did not change hands."

The match is short but not sweet for Boulder who is battered from pillar to post for five minutes. Once Double K had worked his frustration out on Beau he sent him crashing to the mat with a devastating Stock Market Crash and made the cover for the easy win.

After dumping his Boulder out of the ring Double K snatches a mic from the ring announcer and starts to vent his spleen:

"What happened last weekend was a travesty. I defeated Champagne Lover but was not awarded the title or, more importantly, the champions stipend and win bonus." Karl calls Philip Roberts into the ring who is holding an envelope.

"Now obviously we will require compensation for our lost earnings and working time lost. What I have here is a fair financial settlement which I expect the MWG treasurer to sign off and pay out immediately." Roberts looks shocked and appalled as he is interupted by Champagne Lover. Lover walks to the ring, pushes Roberts aside and goes face to face with the Heavyweight Champion.

"Kozlowski!" Begins Lover "You want my title? Well, you didn't pin me, you didn't submit me. I took everything you had and came back for more. I had you right where I wanted you until you got lucky with that powerbomb to the outside. You want my title? You better work on your cardio because you were gassed boy. I will out work you everytime and..." Double K has heard enough and he leaves the ring and walks up the ramp with Phillip Roberts and out to the back. Lover looks irritated and confused but he starts to stretch ahead of his scheduled match

Champagne Lover composes himself and does a professional job against the 'Killer Destroyer' Long Tsou. Tsou is renowned as a martial art expert but Lover keeps him at a distance and uses his greater mobility to inflict damage. The finish comes when Tsou misses a roundhouse kick and gets caught with the Lover Stunner

MWG Intercontinental Title

E37vk2e.png

Stanford: It's now time for our main event, a rematch from No Escape on Saturday

Horwood: That's right, Digger came so close to winning the Intercontintal title last Saturday so he has requested a rematch which Hossam eagerly accepted.

Entrances are made, the wrestlers are introduced and this intercontintal title match begins. Digger takes the same approach as the last match; he overpowers Hossam and looks to use the ringside environment to his advantage. Very quickly he has Hossam struggling to withstand his pure physicality. Hossam is whipped into the barriers, the ring steps and the ring post. Digger brings Hossam back into the ring and lifts the champion up for the same Death Valley Driver that nearly beat him last time.

This time Hossam reverses and starts to counter everything Digger throws at him. Digger is desperately trying to hit Hossam with big punches and elbows but the crowd goes crazy as Hossam dodges all these blows and takes the bigger man down. This is Hossam's match now as he locks in a body scissors and starts to manipulate the challengers joints. He adds a headlock to the hold and pulls back causing agonising pain to shoot down Digger's spine.

Digger manages to power out of the hold but he is now a sitting duck and Hossam starts pummeling him with kicks to the lower back and back of the head. With Digger on his knees Hossam locks in the Camel Clutch and the challenger taps quickly.

Your Winner and Still MWG Intercontinental Champion...."The Cairo Crippler" Wael Hossam!!

Hossam is celebrating in the ring as Double K emerges from the back and destroys the Intercontinental champion with a vicious lariat then sets him up for a Stock Market Crash out of the ring! Hossam is writhing, desperately trying to get out of this dangerous situation. He buys himself enough time and Champagne Lover attacks Double K to make the save.

Kozlowski is furious, shouting at Lover as the FEW champion helps Hossam up the entrance ramp. Once at the top of the ramp Lover helps Hossam stand on his own two feet before kicking him in the stomach and hitting the Lover Stunner! Lover smiles and motions that he wants all three titles.

Owen and Boulder are out first with very basic entrances. Macks is next throwing up his hands to try and get the crowd going. The three of them wait patiently for El Mitico, the Mexican takes his time before emerging to the sound of Mexican inspired orchestral music. Mitico is clad in an expensive looking purple robe which he removes to reveal intricately embroidered wrestling attire. He insults members of the crowd as he makes his way to the ring, the difference between his finery and Mack's jeans and trainers look is very striking.

They may look different but Macks and Mitico work well together and Owen and Boulder can't lay a shot on them. Within ten minutes they are out on their feet and Macks hits the Corkscrew Moonsault he calls the Red Lightning to pick up the win for his team.

Your Winners: El Mitico and Matthew Macks

We cut to a video package showing Champagne Lover being interviewed by Dougie Horwood in the Spanish countyside

"I like it here. It reminds me of home." Lover begins looking whistfully across the plains

"You had a lot of success in Mexico, what brought you to Spain?" Horwood asks

"I needed a break. to get out. To try something new. The company I carried on my back went under."

"You're referring to South of the Border?"

"Of course. SOTBPW was a regional promotion when I started there. We had talented guys, we worked hard and we challenged the big two."

"And put OLLIE out of business." States Horwood.

"Yes, yes, they couldn't hang with us and they shut down but Mexico Premier was too strong, they own Mexico now. I needed to get out and try somewhere new."

"After SOTBPW shut down in 2016 you worked for Fantastic Entertainment Wrestling and brought their title to MWG."

"Yes, another Mexican promotion gone." Lover bows his head in sadness but then looks at Horwood with fierce determination. "These companies died but Champagne Lover went from strength to strength. And now i'm here, and still FEW champion. At Fatal Fury I get the chance to prove how good how I am. I know how good I am. I am the most charismatic, I have the most fire, I am the best lover and most importantly I am the best damn wrestler on the planet. I am going to defeat Wael Hossam, I am going to destroy Karl Kozlowski and once I am the triple crown champion I am going to take MWG on my back and this time no one.....no one!.....can stop me."

Arias comes to the ring with Vita to take on the unaccompanied Carter. Arias seems distracted and moody but his speed and power is too much for Carter and he wins with the Pamplona Press within ten minutes.

Vita tries to raise Arias' arm but he pulls it away and turns his back on her. Vita picks up a mic as Arias walks away.

"Antonio! What are you doing? What's wrong?" Arias continues to trudge up the ramp. "Hey! Don't walk away from me." Vita says with growing irritation. Arias stops, turns around and storms back to the ring with a face like thunder. Arias snatches the mic from his manager who steps back from the furious Pamplonian.

"I know."

"You know what?"

"I know that you are involved with someone." Vita is stunned.

"What? Involved?"

"Don't lie to me. You are sleeping with one of the MWG wrestlers. I've seen you sneaking around the hotels. I've seen your furtive glances. I know you and I can't believe you hid this from me."

"Who do you think you are?" Vita fires back jabbing Arias' chest with her finger. "My private life is none of your concern." Arias stops and thinks before replying.

"It is my concern. We have been in the fight of our lives and although we win battles in the ring..." he holds up his tag title belt. "..we are losing the war. Tino is gone. Fernando is gone. How much of your focus is on your secret relationship? Vitality is falling apart" Vita can take no more and she storms up the ramp and out of the arena. Arias slumps in the ring distraught as we go to adverts.

As we come back on air Seb Koller is seen comforting Antonio Arias and warming up for his match against Kalu Owusu. The big Ivorian makes his way to the ring looking very focussed.

Smith: "Owusu has been saying backstage that he wants to send a message to the team team champions tonight."

Owusu starts strong and tries to bludgeon Koller into submission early on. The German survives an early near fall after a nasty looking lariat. Owusu maintains control and keeps his pace slow, looking to grind down Koller. Owusu gets a two count from a powerbomb and another from a superplex but Koller remains resiliant. After ten minutes of beating Koller, Owusu starts to slow even more and Koller makes a big comeback. Owusu cuts this short with a lariat but once more the ref only counts two.

Kollers second comeback is longer and he has Owusu rocked with a series of dropkicks and superkicks. Koller tries a cross body but Owusu catches him and counters with a fall away slam for anothe close two count. Owusu's frustration is starting to show as Koller ducks his signature lariat series and counters with a running drop kick. Koller is not great at any particular aspect of wrestling but his athleticism is second to none and he does not give Owusu a second to draw breath. Koller swarms the Ivorian with kicks and strikes, he gets Owusu up on his shoulders for the first part of Hamburg Rock City but Owusu is too strong and too heavy and slips out.

Both men are on the canvas; mentally and physically. Koller stands up first and roars at Owusu to come at him. Owusu rolls out of the ring and gets heavily booed. Koller then makes a big mistake, he chases after Owusu and doesn't see Philip Roberts divert the referees attention. Whilst this distraction occurs Grave Digger appears from the crowd and nails him with a chair. Owusu rams him headfirst into the ringpost and then throws him into the ring. Koller can't get up so instead of going for his signature lariats Owusu spikes the German with a piledriver - a tribute to his tag team partner - and covers him for the three.

Smith: Owusu set out to send a message but it looks like he received one instead; Vitality will not be giving up those tag belts easily.

Your Winner: Kalu Owusu
