Project Apollo 2050.

Recommended Posts

I'm creating a fantasy mod that will be set in an alternate universe to our own in the year 2050. I expect it to be a fairly decent sized mod but I wouldn't say it's going to be huge. But there is definitely fun to be had within.

There will be a custom skin I've made to come with the mod. As far as all logos and artwork, the original logos and artwork is my own. Avatars for workers are sourced from WWE2k19's online community as well as many many personal creations of my own. But, this allows for much freedom to have a fully customizable aesthetic that is intriguing and fun. There will be plenty of narratives, worker relationships and chemistry, family feuds, family trees, and plenty of lore to dive into if that sort of thing interests you.

There's way more I can share but I'll just leave it to that and these teaser images for now. If you are at all interested in learning more or possibly helping out in some way. Let me know. Thanks.

Looks awesome, can't wait to see it come to fruition. The more fantasy mods the better. Would be interested in helping to flesh out the UK scene (in terms of promotions/2K19 characters) if that's something you need/want some support with.

Always love fantasy mods, takes a lot of creativity and forces me to be creative and create stories for a brand new set of characters that I'm not used to, not to mention there's an awesome looking skin involved so I'll be watching out for this.

What do you mean not very popular? Do you think people won't play it because it uses WWE2k renders? Maybe ... maybe people won't play it because it's a wrestling sim game as well. Maybe people won't play it because they've never heard of it. My point is, whether or not WWE2k may or may not be "popular" is of zero importance to me. This is a personal project that I'm sharing with the world is all.

But, with all that said, if you're a fan of fantasy mods, I think you'll probably enjoy this one. You've never seen anything that is put together quite this same way.

This seems like a great project. Love the graphics, renders are great.

Are you really planning to release this to TEW16, before next next TEW? That's ambitious!

If you need help with creating wrestlers etc, I can try to help. I am no use in graphics though :D

i mean that most fantasy mod players prefer mods with renders from daz3d than from wwe2k.

Whether the mod is good or not there is no room for that, yeah players say good mod and something but in the end product no one plays because other mods are better.

You're going through exactly the same process as I did back then,

renders are the most important thing about mods, and the wwe2k renders don't have the quality of daz3d. you can see that differently, most people here don't do that.

that shouldn't be a criticism or that it bothers me, but a little tip from a fanatsy mod creator who also loves to play fantasy mods and follows the developments.

i disagree with you, though. I think these renders are 100 times better than daz or poser renders. Now, that is obviously an opinion but, for whatever it's worth, I'm a professional artist with a degree in graphic design.

With that being said, renders are no where near the most important things in a mod. Sure, they add a lot to a mod and they can influence a mod's popularity, but if the mod is not balanced or feels rugged or roughly put together, it doesn't matter how great the renders are.

I actually do not prefer daz renders. I think most of the daz renders i've seen aren't anything special - at least not compared to some of the WWE2K renders i've seen. But, as I just said, if the mod is really good then it doesn't matter much what the pics look like. They can easily be changed if it really bothered me.

My point is, if someone doesn't want to play it because they don't like the way the pictures look ... that''s fine ... i didn't make it for that person. I made it for me ... and for anyone else who DOES want to play it. But also, If the mod isn't getting good reviews it's not because of the renders ... I promise you.

Okay, thanks for your opinion.

I wish you a lot of fun and success.

I'll take a look at the mod when I have time.

Personally, I see no problem with mixing in WWE2k renders with the Daz/Poser ones, mainly as a variety thing.

Plenty of people do Daz/Poser renders in differing styles, and WWE2k renders would just basically be another style, along with the fact that it's slightly easier to do 2k ones because it's slightly quicker to dress and morph a character there.
