Jake took a drink from his rum and coke and stared out at the crystal-clear water from his balcony. Today was his off day. Or well, the day he didn't have meetings or go into the office. It was his time to sit at home and have a drink and enjoy the quiet. For a southern boy who never thought he'd be doing something like this, he was pretty pleased. He had booked eight shows so far here in Puerto Rico. They were drawing consistent fans and were only really held back by Puerto Rican Power's refusal to up the production of the shows. Jake was trying to impress upon him the need to have better-looking shows to compete in the twenty-first-century market, but so far his pleas had fallen on deaf ears.

So far Jake's gamble on Texas Pete had paid off. The notorious party-animal had been on his best behavior. He hadn't shown up in a condition not to perform and while he was not the wrestler his youth had promised he could be, he was doing a good job as the top heel. The boss wanted to be the focus of the stories right now -- it's why Jake had to put the title back on him. The boss didn't want Brody to have a long reign. Wanted to be the star and the focus and hold onto his spot. Sawyer had privately been warned that the big man could be difficult in that sense, but so far he'd been able to navigate around it. Hopefully that would continue.

Sawyer looked at the notebook that rested on the table next to him as he took another drink. He was planned out through March of 2017. A good plan. He knew where he wanted to take the company. He was slowly trying to replace the reliance on the forty-five year old Puerto Rican Power and the forty year old Billy Russell. He had his eyes on Island Boy Apollo, Mark Griffin, Kip Keenan, and Nate DeMarcus. The four of them could be big, big stars. The Latino Kings were also very valuable and would anchor his face side as well. On the heel side, he knew he couldn't rely on Pete forever. Even though he was only 34, the wild man was, well, wild. Handsome Stranger was over forty. Brody would, more than likely, go back to Japan for someone. Xavi was being primed for a mega heel run. Samoan Demolition was there. Ox Mastadon had a lot of miles in him. Jay Chord could be relied upon when he was booked, but he couldn't be booked every month. He was doing a good job as World Champion though. He had won the title in August and was already making the rounds defending it.

Sawyer hit play on his phone. He had to hear what Vibert had said again.

Alright guys, I can admit it. I was wrong. I really took FCW to task when they appointed Jake Sawyer as the decision maker, but it looks like he's not out of his depth at all. He's gotten them on pace to have their best year as a company since they lost Shawn Gonzalez. He's brought in an interesting group of guys to help his vision and the crowd seems to really respond to all their major angles. I hope they can keep it up.

That's right Phil. Eat crow. Sawyer thought to himself as he took another drink and closed his eyes. All was going according to plan. The September show was coming up and he was confident that it would deliver once more.

The trios division fits with the lucha base we have without having to go full lucha with a bunch of masked guys. Plus it allows me to find teams, allows me to let youngsters get more ring time and find who I have. Ox hit Bubba with the Ten Ton Splash and we had out first team in the finals. Shaw got locked in and sold it like his back was being crushed. This was a good match between six young talents that are all developing. In the end, Mark Griffin hit The Brisbane Devil with a Swinging Side Slam -- a move that is quickly becoming recognized as a devastating move in Puerto Rico. The babyfaces got the win and will be meeting the 937lb Express and Bull Wrecker in the finals. That meant they had to have some violent opponents first and this was perfect. They used some weapons and some chairs and got wild -- but did not get super bloody. Rudy hit the Street Cutter and he and Hector got another successful defense in their reign. In a decent match, The Latino Kings defeated Mexican Hardcore Killers in a Weapons match in 8:08 when Rudy Velasquez defeated Sanchez Villano by pinfall with a Street Cutter. The Latino Kings make defence number 4 of their FCW Tag Team titles. They were tied together by a bullrope and they brawled all around. Both men bled buckets. Pete choked Power and the fans damn near came over the barricade over him. Power slammed the big Texas Pete and the people exploded. This was a classic wrestling territory grudge match. This would have worked in Memphis or Dallas or Charlotte or Philadelphia. Anywhere really. The boss hit the San Juan Rush and looked like he was about to retain the championship when he was yanked from the pin by... <img alt="A0jHgQM.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/A0jHgQM.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> PROMETHEUS! It was time to start their feud. Prometheus’ had gotten win after win after win and was over enough that I felt confident in pulling the trigger here. Plus, I needed a feud for the boss that would give me some time to develop some other stars. On the outside, Prometheus hit the God Chop and the fans had to be held back by the security or we would have had a riot when the seven-footer stepped out of the ring while Pete got back to his feet and his the Lone Star Drop and made the cover. With Ryan Holland counting three, Texas Pete was the new champion. In a bout that had fantastic heat and decent wrestling, Texas Pete defeated Puerto Rican Power in 17:52 by pinfall with a Lone Star Drop following interference from Prometheus. I should have the show up in the next couple of days. Physical and mental health has been on a downward trend -- it's coming back up (physical better than mental, but mental is on the upswing). Combine that with some writing projects that have come on to the table and it just means my free writing time for diaries is going to be reduced. They'll still be active and all that, I just wanted to give you guys a quick update!

UPDATE: FREEDOM to Choose should be up tomorrow. Finally back in the saddle health-wise. It took a little longer than I expected but I'm back and feeling like my old self again so it is time to pick back up where we left off.
