Samoan Demolition is still learning how to work the crowd here, but they are learning. Malietoa has some vicious headbutts and I’m pretty sure he and Brisbane could be a big, big deal and anchors of the tag division and Malietoa could even have a really good singles run in him if they keep developing and getting over. Malietoa hit that crossbody headbutt thing that I just love and they hit the Devil’s Drop on Joffy -- though I told them to beat Curtis...Or thought I did. Maybe I didn’t? I’m still getting used to this giving finishes thing. The monster I thought was from Finland and turns out is actually from Canada! How did I get my monsters confused? Either way, Prometheus dominated this match. He and Vega make a great pairing and his God Chop is getting really over -- even if he is not very good in the ring. He doesn’t have to be at this stage. He just has to get over. I gave them nine minutes to show me what they could do. The crowd was kind of blah about these two, but they worked hard and did some good lucha highspoty kind of wrestling. Not our brawl-heavy stuff that I’m pushing, but you have to mix up the card. Ricochet has some good aerial stuff as does Boriken. These two could really develop into solid members of the card. Ramone hit his flying senton for the win and I was surprised with how much I enjoyed this match. Subbing in the Kings for the Island Boys after debuting Death Row. Death Row is perfect for this kind of environment. Big, rugged, believable brawlers that have been off mainstream TV long enough that they aren’t just jobbers, but haven’t been able to catch on full time with anyone since SWF. The Generals were finishing up their two dates here -- they’ll be back to defend the World titles, but we had a two-show trade for them. I wanted the belts back on the Kings, my top face tag team but I didn’t want to have them beat the Island Boys, so the Generals were the perfect team to do the switch with. It also set up matches for the Island Boys and the Generals down the line and the Kings and the Generals. A solid match that put the Kings over and got the belts back onto them and set up feuds… A great thing if I do say so myself. In a decent match, The Latino Kings defeated The Ring Generals in 12:48 when Rudy Velasquez defeated Marv Statler by pinfall with a Street Cutter. I didn’t give it long because a lot of these guys are lower card guys for now -- but guys I have high hopes for. Keenan, DeMarcus, and Griffin are all superb athletes with a real pedigree that our fans can respond to. Keenan and DeMarcus are going to team full time while I think Griffin will get the singles push. Snow, Reynolds, and DWN are all good heels that will get some momentum back but needed to lose this contest to help get my faces more oomph. Especially if I can convince the boss to let me bring in a Trios title. We could really do something with a trios title.. Anyway, a short match that let all six guys have a couple of spots and gave the newcomer a chance to get the win. Then I told him that Tex was going to interfere and we would make him look good and he settled into it. Another notch in Xavi’s belt, another chance for him to get a big win and look good in front of the crowd and elevate his stock. I’m trying to guide him towards a good run with the People’s Championship and a win over Carlos definitely helps that story. Tex and Carlos have been feuding since before I took over the book, so this helps their story. Especially when Tex took off his cowboy boot to hit Carlos with it. I didn’t expect that to get the heat it got. Pete’s entrance with his bullwhip and his snarls and his wild cowboy act worked them into a frenzy. Billy got to play the small, tougher-than-nails, underdog babyface and it worked to perfection. Billy was the better wrestler. The better striker. Smarter. All of those things. But Pete was big and wild and came across like an uncaged animal that Billy just couldn’t keep a hold of. At one point, Pete tried to bring the bullrope in and I swear two people tried to hop the barricade to stop him. In the end, Pete hit the Lone Star Drop and got the victory and damn was it a match. Brody the maniac wild man and Puerto Rican Power the hometown unstoppable force. They beat the hell out of each other all over the ring, outside of the ring, back in the ring, and back outside. There wasn’t a lot of prolonged selling and there didn’t need to be. Holland had a lot of difficulties controlling the match and he needed to have that difficulty. They didn’t use any furniture or weapons, but they did dislodge the ringsteps and almost spill into the crowd and the fans tried to hit Brody anytime he was close to them. Brody hit his big dive to the outside that took out Power and Power absorbed a big boot to respond with a massive clothesline. Eventually, Holland had to throw the match out because neither man would return to the ring and the people almost rioted and I knew we had them for next month. I sat on the balcony of my apartment overlooking the water. It was a gorgeous view. Puerto Rico was like no other territory in wrestling. I could be at home most of the day. I could walk the beach and drink a margarita and eat delicious food from street stalls and then go to the venue at four or five o'clock. It had been a great life so far.

We were starting to catch fire as a territory. We had some local news coverage. Pete had done great so far. His match with Billy really tore the house down. Death Row debuted and it was great. They give me another top heel act to utilize. They were different than everything I had so far. I was pumped. I really was. It didn't look like Brody was going on the next tour for BCG -- so that meant I would have him full time for now. That excited me. Bradford Peverell was returning from injury -- so I was getting my full crew. Main event faces of Bradford, Billy, and Power. Heels of Pete, Brody, Stranger and Death Row. I had gotten the belts back on The Latino Kings. I had a good crop of young babyfaces in the middle of the card in Kip, Nate, and Mark. Some good young heels in Samoan Demolition and Xavi Ferrera. Plus The Puerto Rican Boys and the Express and Bull Wrecker and Mutant. We had a good crew and we were only going to get better.

Despite the fact that I confused Prometheus with Annihulus (come on, two plodding seven-footers, it could happen to anyone), I’m committed to building Prometheus into a star. He came in to me with no notoriety in Puerto Rico and five months in he’s already a midcarder. Hopefully, before the year is out he will be comfortably in the main event scene. Hopefully. Brady is a veteran from the south who understands how to be a babyface and how to sell and he did his job in the squash match making Prometheus a monster.

In an extremely short match, Prometheus defeated Brady Prince in 3:46 by pinfall with a God Chop.

Last month I debuted Death Row by having them beat the hell out of the Puerto Rican Boys. Tonight, they continued with just a slugfest of a match. Kid San Juan was on sell-duty for this match. He got the hell kicked out of him by both Shady K and Knuckles. They threw him all over the ring while Apollo tried like hell to get into the match. Shady and Knuckles showed excellent teamwork -- the kind of teamwork that culminated in the SWF Tag Team Titles. Eventually, Apollo came in and he did clean house for a couple of minutes but Knuckles and Shady really got nasty and cut him off and then a chain around the fist and a handful of tights and Death Row got the win and got the crowd even more riled up.

In a decent match, Death Row defeated The Puerto Rican Boys in 10:01 when Knuckles defeated Island Boy Apollo by pinfall with a handful of tights.

I’m not sure how to feel about Davis Wayne Newton. I’m supposed to like him. He’s a good hand. He can do everything in the wrestling ring. He just doesn’t do anything for me. Not yet. Mark Griffin on the other hand? What’s not to love. Real athletic background. Handsome bastard. Believable. Good pedigree. So I put the two together to see if Davis could impress me in there with The Anvil. He didn’t do half bad. I might have to get behind him and see what the kid could do after how he sold the Swinging Side Slam from Griffin.

In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Mark Griffin defeated Davis Wayne Newton in 8:11 by pinfall with a Swinging Side Slam.

Peverell and Russell are backstage for the DVD purchasers -- this doesn’t air for the live crowd that has filled the ballroom. Peverell is returning from injury and he and the MMA icon Billy Russell are fired up for their match tonight. Texas Pete is a crazy invader who has managed to convince Handsome Stranger to side with him and tonight they will defend the honor of Puerto Rico against the invaders.

Leper’s last match with us. God, he sucks. He hasn’t put on a single good match. Doug Peak is a former DAVE standout that’s been in Japan since DAVE collapsed. He’s a big nasty brawler that gives me another main event level heel in the mix. I’m trying to stack the heel side. Brody. Pete. Stranger. Ox. Doug. Big bodies that can brawl and give me something special. Doug was crazy here. He kept trying to pull out a fork and Ryan Holland had his hands full, but Doug got the victory and Leper is done with us.

In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Doug Peak defeated Leper Messiah in 10:44 by pinfall with a House Of Horrors.

A simple match for Carlos to get another win and finish the program with Tex. They didn’t do anything too crazy, but this allowed Texas to hit Carlos with his loaded cowboy boot and Carlos to kick out. Carlos hit the Flat Out and got the win so he can move on to the next thing.

In a decent match, Carlos Gonzalez defeated Tex Tagan in 8:01 by pinfall with a Flat-Out.

I like Ox, a lot, but I also want Ox free of this belt. He could be a main event threat. He and Kennedy are a good tag team -- even if Kennedy is clearly the weak link. Plus, if I bring in the Trios title, they could pair with Bull Wrecker for a solid monster three-man combo. Jesus is a big bastard and a good brawler and could be a money main eventer. I know everyone banks on Rudy -- because Rudy is a hell of a hand, he’s worked hard at developing, but Rudy does not have the size of Jesus. Jesus hit Ox with The 187 Neckbreaker after a very physical match and I had a new People’s Champion.

In a decent match, Jesus Chavez defeated Ox Mastadon in 11:22 by pinfall with The 187 Neckbreaker. Jesus Chavez wins the FCW People's Championship title.

Billy Russell & Bradford Peverell versus Texas Pete & Handsome Stranger

This was the hardest match for me to decide on. I wanted to return Bradford strong but I also didn’t want Pete to lose so soon. Eventually, I made my decision and the crowd was super into this match. Billy and Bradford are incredibly popular -- and Stranger and Pete are *hated* and Pete with his bullwhip and his snarl and wild cowboy shtick are a perfect heat magnet. I let Russell hit several knee strikes on Stranger and get the pin while Pete and Peverell were brawling on the outside.

In a bout that had fantastic heat and decent wrestling, Billy Russell and Bradford Peverell defeated Texas Pete and Handsome Stranger in 13:18 when Billy Russell defeated Handsome Stranger by pinfall with a Grounded Knee Flurry.

The match is over and Russell and Peverell are celebrating. They did what they set out to do. Unfortuantley for them, Pete doesn’t care. He grabs the bullwhip that has become his trademark and clocks both Russell and Peverell. Stranger staggers back to his feet and he joins in putting the boots to the two men and the crowd almost explodes in rage.

The main event did not disappoint. From the moment Brody came out and snorted and snarled and charged some fans, they were into it. We had built to this. Power received a heroes welcome and Brody and the boss did not disappoint. They brawled around the ring using a variety of objects that the fans brought. They were smart and did not go into the crowd -- Brody could have gotten cut or attacked by the fans. They didn’t hold anything back. Both Brody and Power bled buckets for this.

Texas Pete and his bullwhip made an appearance and he clocked Power over the head with it which set up Brody to hit the Single Handed Choke Slam and put the boss away to win the Puerto Rican title.

In a bout that had fantastic heat and decent wrestling, Giant Brody defeated Puerto Rican Power in a Weapons match in 14:08 by pinfall with a Single Handed Choke Slam following interference from Texas Pete. Giant Brody wins the FCW Puerto Rican title.

Originally, Xavi Ferrera was supposed to appear on FREEDOM or Death, but he sustained a hernia working for PSW. I couldn't be mad at Xavi for getting hurt. Injuries happen, but it meant he couldn't work FREEDOM or Death and meant he also wouldn't be at FREEDOM's Fury either. So that's two months without a budding star. I wasn't happy about that.

I was happy that the Mexican Hardcore Killers --or for me, Mexican Hardcore Killahs, had signed on. They were working for Nemesis in Los Angeles and would also work for me. They'd be heel and give me another team to have in the fold. I wanted to have as many teams as I could in the fold. Tag team wrestling was crucial to a strong territory. Tag team wrestling gave me more versatility, more options, and could really deliver some heat.

I wouldn't debut them until July, but that's fine. FREEDOM's Fury was setting up our July show with the big trios main event. I was close ot having convinced the boss that we could benefit from having a six man title. Really close. Hopefully in the fall I could do a tournament.
