Pro Wrestling Guerrilla

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) is an American independent professional wrestling promotion that is run by wrestlers themselves as it was created by Southern California wrestlers Disco Machine, Excalibur, Scott Lost, Joey Ryan, Super Dragon, and Top Gun Talwar. Since then, Disco, Talwar and Lost have retired and left the company. Since 2007, Excalibur has been the head play-by-play commentator, with a rotation of wrestlers on color commentary.

The promotion debuted on July 26, 2003, and is known for its unique mixes of humor and professional wrestling as well as their over the top press releases and show titles, such as Kee_ The _ee Out of Our _ool!, Free Admission (Just Kidding), Straight to DVD, Steen Wolf, Black Cole Sun, From Parts Well Known, Matt Rushmore, and Head Like a Cole.

In 2016, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter called PWG "the best wrestling in North America".

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla has become famous for its non-mainstream, "punk rock" business outlook. Co-owners Excalibur and Super Dragon are responsible for all behind-the-scenes details: Excalibur is a graphic designer and creates website and DVD cover artwork; Super Dragon has been the sole booker since 2010, along with editing shows and composing YouTube previews.

Well, this is embarrassing. I teased a new NJPW diary recently, but I have to confess that is not going to happen. It is just too time consuming for me at this point. Booking NJPW is complicated, tedious, and yet still super fun. However, I want to try something different.

I've been a PWG fan on-and-off for basically half my life. I remember ordering pretty much every DVD in 2005 and 2006, using my earnings from my mail room job in a payroll office to do this. I am very happy they are still running strong, and they are the perfect company for a fun, easy-going TEW save before TEW 2020 comes out.

It's an interesting time for PWG. The nature of their relationship with AEW is unclear. It seems as if they are sort of like All Elite's NXT. Will AEW wrestlers be back in PWG? Will the Young Bucks return to their old stomping grounds? Is Bandido the next ace of the company, or is he going to depart for a major promotion in 2020? I want to try to tackle all these issues while booking some random matches and cards I'd like to see, all while trying to be as realistic as possible. Wish me luck!

Never thought about PWG being sort of AEW's developmental. And I'm always for The Bucky Boys returning to their old stomping grounds. Stuff to look out for?

just when you go and get me all excited for a NJPW dynasty only to kill it...you go and MAKE THIS BEAUTY, DEAN, I LOVE YA. PWG is really fascinating in that maybe with AEW watching over them and NXT being even more overcrowded af, they won't have their guys get poached as soon as they start gaining some momentum. i lost interest with the boys around the time they went to the Globe and felt like they kinda lost their way, but i've slowly been getting back into it, so i am hyped for this.

Thanks for the replies and predictions! Should have some shows up this weekend. Any feedback on the format? Trying to stick with my old NJPW style, but trying to keep it clean and simulate the PWG style of just tweeting out a big list of matches for their shows.

Unfortunately it looks like Laredo Kid is out for 28 days with a sternoclavicular separation suffered literally the night before my show. Instead of abusing the manual saves like I normally do, I decided to roll with it as I am trying to play a more realistic and challenging game!

The reign of Dezmond Xavier and Zacahry Wentz was historic in many ways - it was the third longest PWG World Tag Team Title reign, and their eight defenses were the fourth most in PWG history. This makes PENTA EL ZERO M and REY FENIX both PWG and AAA Tag Team Champions, and they are always in the hunt for AEW tag team gold. <p>alpha2117 - 2/6 (picked Laredo Kid & skipped a match)</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Yeah I've been having trouble with my laptop not registering sometimes and I did those picks fairly quickly. Shame because I picked Janela & Bandido on the first night and Gresham on the 2nd but picking is really just for fun and I was picking who I liked more than who I thought would win. Have no idea how Laredo Kid got into Puma Kings spot for that Lucky Kid match - again I'm blaming my aging laptops keyboard for that one because I'm guessing it somehow cut and pasted the name from somewhere. alpha2117 - 2/6 (picked Laredo Kid & skipped a match)

I mean it couldn't be my own incompetence ;):rolleyes:

Great Job.

lol it's all good, I actually had Laredo Kid in that spot but he got injured so I replaced him with Puma King. The original card had Laredo Kid in that spot, you aren't crazy!
